The Queen of YouTube isn\u2019t going anywhere \u2014 Valkyrae revealed on January 31, in a tongue-in-cheek reveal video, she had officially re-signed with Google\u2019s streaming platform. It was no surprise, especially considering the 100 Thieves co-owner\u2019s support of YouTube over Twitch, and her eagerness to see more streamers join the red-brand website. For most, especially the 30-year-old star\u2019s 3.6 million-strong fanbase, it was cause for celebration. For others, however, the video sparked outrage. According to a smattering of holdouts, Hofstetter\u2019s weeks of silence and 1:01-minute reveal were \u201coverhyping\u201d her choice \u2014 a claim she strongly disagrees with. \u201cI just want to say, I know there were a lot of people saying, \u2018Why did she even do an announcement video if she never left?\u2019 First of all, it was good content,\u201d she said on January 2. \u201cSecond of all it was for fun, and third of all, it was for fun. Fourth of all, it was for fun. You know what I mean?\u201d \u201cThis is the most extra thing I could have done. \u201cAnd I\u2019m okay with that too,\u201d the YouTube streamer added, directly addressing the \u201cgrumpy\u201d fans complaining. \u201cI\u2019m allowed to have fun, you know!\u201d Valkyrae also took the opportunity to address another controversy that had seemingly sprung up \u2014 her \u201csavage\u201d response to potentially moving to Facebook, via a mug-smash. In the 100 Thieves star\u2019s announcement clip, she can be seen hurling a blue cup (representing Facebook) to the ground, strongly declaring she doesn\u2019t want the mug. Many took it as her stance against the blue-branded site. \u201cI definitely have nothing against Facebook!\u201d the streamer explained, however. \u201cIt was just for the memes, I swear. Then people started saying things like, \u2018Rae\u2019s a savage. Shots fired!\u2019 It wasn\u2019t that serious!\u201d Valkyrae added she has nothing against Facebook, and just wanted to stay on YouTube: \u201cIt was a silly joke! The 30-year-old star has been a major advocate for other Twitch streamers to ditch Amazon\u2019s famous site and join her in red over the past year. So far, Ludwig, DrLupo, and even TimTheTatman have defected already. \u201cThe streaming side of the site has a lot of room to grow,\u201d Hofstetter said. \u201cThey\u2019re working on it.
