The video shows a woman confronting the grinning teenagers at a Walmart, as they appeared to be dressed up as prisoners with their faces and hands colored black. \u201cWho are these kids in Cedar City Utah?\u201d the 19-second clip was captioned. \u201cPlease spread this so we can find them!\u201d The woman behind the camera scolded the group, and accused them of committing a hate crime. \u201cYou guys are not going to get into a college. You guys are not going to get any scholarships, because this is a hate crime,\u201d she told them. \u201cWe all dropped out of high school, it\u2019s OK,\u201d one of the teens claimed, before laughing and turning away with the other group members. \u201cI still don\u2019t think it\u2019s appropriate for you guys to be doing this,\u201d the woman said off-camera. \u201cIt\u2019s really not funny.\u201d Teens bashed on TikTok over blackface costumes The clip sparked outrage on TikTok and Twitter, as users condemned the blackface-wearing group in the comments. \u201cThe fact that they knew what they were doing\u2026 DISGUSTING humans,\u201d one user wrote. \u201cSuch ignorance. They won\u2019t be anything better than where they are mentally,\u201d another shared. \u201cThis can\u2019t go unpunished. Everyone sticking up for them is just as racist. They think this is so funny, proves how disgusting they are,\u201d a third commented. \u201cDumb people. I hope future employers and colleges see this crime. This is what\u2019s wrong with the world,\u201d someone else added. Cedar City Police released a statement on 1 November, that said while police weren\u2019t called to the Walmart store at the time of the incident, it is now under investigation. \u201cCedar City Police Department and Cedar City officials do not condone this type of activity,\u201d the statement said.
