TikTok: hishamraustvTikTok has gone wild over the new Sprite and Lipton Iced Tea recipe — but what is it? TikTok is full of foodies who post their latest eats and vibes. From watermelon fries to grilled cheese-covered pickles and ‘million dollar spaghetti,’ the social media platform is rife with good recipes and even better food. However, one TikToker’s latest drink combination has sent viewers running to the grocery store. In his now-viral video that has reached at least 1.1 million viewers, a foodie named Hisham Raus posted his new Sprite and Lipton Iced Tea recipe — but for some, the drink may mean more, as it has a cultural background from locations in Asia. TikTokers recommend using cranberry Sprite for more flavor Raus’ viral drink recipe consists of steeping a black Lipton Iced Tea bag in a bottle of Sprite. The drink also includes a lemon slice that is ground by a mortar and pestle in the bottom of the glass being used— and let’s not forget the ice! Though the jazzed-up Sprite beverage is new to Americans, the recipe originated in Asia, as cookbook author Clarissa Wei said both the drink and method of making it are fairly popular in Taiwan. Wei also explained more about the method of steeping the tea bag, saying, “Cold steeping is a way to gently coax out the flavor of the tea without releasing too many tannins. Generally speaking, it’s less bitter and much more delicate than hot steeped tea.” Though some may want to dive right into drinking their steeped Sprite and Lipton Iced Tea beverage, the wait time for flavor to kick in is between 10 to 20 minutes. As for Raus’ TikTok video where the drink went viral, viewers were quick to comment on his recipe, saying, “He knows what he’s doing,” as well as, “I have to try this, cheers.” Some even recommended their own rendition of the steeped drink, saying that cranberry Sprite mixed with the black Lipton Iced Teabag would taste even better. Though Raus’ TikTok video of him making the Sprite beverage went viral, many other users took to the social media platform to share themselves following suit — and let’s just say, TikTok approves!

What is TikTok’s viral Sprite and Lipton Iced Tea drink?
