YouTuber takes social media break after response to grooming allegations Minecraft YouTube star Dream has taken a step back from social media, and released the promised response video addressing several allegations including accusations of grooming a minor. In late 2022, Dream was accused of flirting with and grooming a minor by Twitter user \u2018Anastasia\u2019 who claimed she was 17 years old at the time she had an encounter with the YouTube star. Since then, the YouTuber claims he has been \u201charassed for almost a year due to false accusations.\u201d On November 20, 2023, more allegations came from an anonymous Twitter\/X account \u2018b88221141\u2019, which posted videos and screenshots of messages from a Snapchat user named \u2018Dream Dream\u2019 \u2014 claiming they can \u201cconfirm without a shadow of a doubt\u201d it was the YouTuber\u2019s Snapchat account. The user alleged that the YouTuber exchanged sexually explicit messages to a girl aged between 16-17 named \u201cJamie\u201d in 2019. In response, Dream promised fans a video to address the allegations \u2014 where he said that he\u2019s a prior victim of domestic violence, has also been recently physically assaulted, and has had \u201crevenge p*rn\u201d used against him. He stated: \u201cI\u2019m not a p*do, I didn\u2019t groom anyone, and what\u2019s being spread in this particular instance is black and white, and I will lay everything out in my video. Including the situation with me being assaulted, and other situations that are incredibly serious.\u201d Dream grooming allegations continue Since the post on November 21, Dream remained silent across social media. That was until December 19, when he addressed several accusations in an 82-minute-long YouTube video right after another post claiming to show evidence supporting the authenticity of the allegations of grooming and sexual misconduct emerged. X\/Twitter user \u2018DreamEv33233\u2019 provided a 24-page document indicating that Dream\u2019s Snapchat account in question, the one which he allegedly used to groom the minor, appears to match his Snapchat account that he publicly shared years ago. Not only that, but the document provides details about Jamie in an attempt to verify their authenticity and using the Wayback Machine, an internet archive of screenshots, indicated that their first public interaction with the YouTuber was in August 2019. Furthermore, screenshots appear to show that Dream followed Jamie\u2019s account as early as September 3, 2019, while posts from her in October 2020 claimed she was turning 18 the following December, suggesting she was only 16 at the time of her meeting the YouTube star. Dream responds to grooming allegations In his response on December 19, Dream flat-out denied the accusations of grooming any minors. The YouTube star first made note of several \u201cinconsistencies\u201d in Anastasia\u2019s allegations, who claimed he flirted with her while she was underage. \u201cI didn\u2019t have any inappropriate contact with this person. I didn\u2019t have any sexual contact with this person. I hardly even remember who this person is at all,\u201d he stated. Dream claimed the only conversation he could find with Anatasia were \u201cfriendly\u201d Twitter DMs, in which screenshots reveal that he recognized she had \u201c18\u201d in her bio \u2014 suggesting she was of legal age at the time. However, the YouTuber admits Anatasia contradicted her age, wherein a message asking for advice if she should drop out of school she confessed she was turning 18 \u201csoon.\u201d Later in the video, the 24-year-old addressed allegations from \u201cAmanda\u201d \u2014 who also claimed she received inappropriate messages from Dream and exchanged sexually explicit images while she was 17 years old. Once again, the YouTuber denied the accusations. Dream also denied Amanda\u2019s claims that he intended to meet up with her for sex in August 2022 while she was in Orlando, Florida. \u201cNone of this is true,\u201d he said. He then addressed the latest allegations from the anonymous burner account accusing him of grooming the 16\/17-year-old girl named Jamie. \u201cI immediately want to say this is not true. I did not groom anyone. I did not groom Jamie, and I would never be inappropriate with anyone underage,\u201d Dream said. The YouTuber responded to the videos in which he allegedly sent audio of him \u201cmoaning\u201d with sexually explicit messages. He admitted he was in contact with Jamie, who is also followed by several of his friends. \u201cThe claims are completely false,\u201d he declared. The burner account claimed they reported the situation to the \u201cproper authorities.\u201d However, during his response video, Dream provided an audio conversation with an Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office, who declared that there\u2019s nothing relating to his name in their \u201cbroad database.\u201d Finally, the Minecraft streamer even provided a statement from the alleged victim Jamie. \u201cI want to make it very clear that I was never groomed. I definitely am not a victim of Dream,\u201d the statement read. \u201cI don\u2019t know how or why people are using my name and information without having ever asked me if any of it is true. \u201cEverything claiming to be about me was posted without my consent. Leave me alone.\u201d The statement continued: \u201cI want nothing to do with this. I have been getting harassed by people either saying I\u2019m looking for attention or digging through my life trying to confirm things I want nothing to do with. Leave me alone.\u201d In his response video, the YouTuber also spoke on several other controversies, such as his infamous Minecraft cheating scandal as well as being assaulted by voice actor Nicolas Cantu.
