Traveling can be a very stressful and tricky process, especially with multiple flights involved and as one woman learned, it’s always best to double-check your itinerary. TikToker Rin was all set to join her friends in Thailand to host a group trip, but had to catch a connecting flight at San Jose, Costa Rica first to fly through Alaska Airlines. Everything seemed to be going well until she realized there wasn’t an Alaska Airlines check-in gate anywhere at the airport. Not deterred, she went to an information desk for help only to find out that she wasn’t in San Jose, Costa Rica at all. Woman accidentally books flight to wrong San Jose After speaking with employees at the information desk, Rin was a bit baffled as the staff couldn’t seem to figure out what was wrong until they determined she was in the wrong city. “They look at me and they’re like, ‘oh, we figured it out.’ And I’m like ‘don’t say it like that. Don’t tell me something bad right now.’ Bro, I booked my flight from the wrong San Jose! I booked it from San Jose, California and San Jose, Costa Rica!” Rin blamed the airport codes for the confusion, saying that SJO and SJC are too similar and that it wasn’t her fault for the mistake. At first, Rin was a bit distraught, but then remembered she bought travel insurance and phoned the booking company only to find out that a one-way trip to Thailand would set her back a whopping $3,000. “What is the point of getting insurance on your flight if was a $1,200 round trip flight and the only refund they’ll give you for canceling is $300?” she explained. Luckily, things ended up working out as she was able to find a direct flight to Thailand from New York for $600 and if that wasn’t already an improvement, Rin revealed a brand caught wind of her flight fiasco and offered her a $10,000 deal. “The money always comes back around!” the TikTok star happily proclaimed. Despite the happy ending, this story is a good reminder for everyone to always be sure your flights are accurate before you book, because you may not be as lucky as Rin was.

Woman mortified after learning she booked flight to the wrong San Jose at the airport TikTok/yogirl_rinA woman’s trip to Thailand took a wrong turn after she ended up at a completely different San Jose and only learned so when she arrived.
