In a viral clip with over 6 million views, TikToker Alexandra Lee explained that there are \u201ctwo ways people shower,\u201d after finding out that she and her mother face different directions while washing up. \u201cWhen I shower, the shower head is behind me so the water is on my hair and down my back,\u201d she said, adding that she does \u201cturn around occasionally.\u201d On the other hand, her mom mostly showers with the stream of water in front of her, allowing it to hit her in the face. Alexandra admitted she was \u201cshocked\u201d to learn this, and said the \u201cnormal way to shower\u201d is facing away from the shower head. \u201cI feel like the normal way to shower is with the shower head behind you.. is anyone else surprised by this?\u201d she asked. \u201cI don\u2019t know why I\u2019m having, like, an epiphany.\u201d TikTok divided over \u2018normal way\u2019 to shower TikTok users in the comments were divided, with many agreeing with Alexandra. \u201cNo because voluntarily getting waterboarded doesn\u2019t sound fun at all,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cBack to the water, rotate when needed. There is no other way that makes sense,\u201d another said. \u201cYour way is the normal way, like why would you face the water? It makes no sense and makes rinsing your hair harder and your back colder,\u201d a third shared. However, others thought her mom was correct. \u201cI face the water. But it\u2019s not like we stand there with it blasting our faces,\u201d one user commented. \u201cIn movies people are always facing the water so that\u2019s correct,\u201d another added. And some users said they rotate so both sides are doused equally. \u201cI constantly move around like a rotisserie chicken! Equal time on both sides,\u201d one said. \u201cConstant rotation is the only way to do it,\u201d another stated.
