In May 2021, he claimed \u2018cancel culture\u2019 isn\u2019t \u201creal\u201d and said: \u201cIsn\u2019t that what you expect from humans? For them to learn from their mistakes? Just because you woke up in a woke culture doesn\u2019t make you better than anyone else.\u201d He mentioned it again in July 2021 and slammed Twitch viewers for \u201ccanceling each other\u201d and their favorite streamers. But after watching a video of people discussing whether \u2018cancel culture\u2019 is a good thing, xQc revealed that his opinion has changed. He now believes \u2018cancel culture\u2019 it\u2019s a good thing overall, and he explained why. \u201cThe way it\u2019s being used is: \u2018This makes me upset. Therefore, it\u2019s wrong, and therefore, they should not be allowed to talk anymore because I don\u2019t agree with this,\u2019\u201d said xQc. \u201cThat\u2019s how people use cancel culture. It\u2019s why it\u2019s bad.\u201d But then he flipped the switch. \u201cYou guys might say I\u2019m wrong about this, but overall, cancel culture is a good thing. Sometimes, the legal system will fail. Sometimes, the legal system cannot operate on certain things.\u201d For that reason, he believes it\u2019s \u201cokay\u201d to hold people accountable for their misdemeanors.
