YouTube\u2019s initial decision to remove dislike counts came as a response to \u201cdislike attacks,\u201d where viewers would mass-dislike a creator\u2019s videos as a means of harassing them. YouTube reveals why it will hide dislike counts on videos \u201cWe want to create an inclusive and respectful environment where creators have the opportunity to succeed and feel safe to express themselves,\u201d the platform stated in a blog post. \u201cThis is just one of many steps we are taking to continue to protect creators from harassment.
