On July 4, Owen appealed to TeamYouTube on social media, saying that he was \u201cso depressed\u201d following the termination of his channel. He went on to explain that he \u201cnever received any community guideline strikes so he didn\u2019t know what he was doing was violating the guidelines.\u201d TeamYouTube confirmed they were looking into the situation. https:\/\/twitter.com\/_ItsOwen\/status\/1544018089888595969?s=20&#038;t=1sY_mSJKNa-isXHP2Tb9dg Why was ItsOwen banned? At the time of writing, it\u2019s not entirely clear what exactly triggered ItsOwen\u2019s YouTube channel to be terminated. When you visit his channel, you\u2019re met with a prompt saying that \u201cThis account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube\u2019s policy on nudity or sexual content.\u201d While instances of these violations are obviously no longer available to find on Owen\u2019s channel, a number of critics hit out at Owen in his conversation on Twitter, calling him out for \u201cclickbaiting\u201d the recent passing of Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade. One viral Tweet showed the timeline of ItsOwen being called out for his Technoblade video, followed by a swift ban. In the replies to his original tweet are a number of comments simply saying that the ban is \u201cdeserved\u201d with one saying that it\u2019s deserved for \u201cmilking Technoblade\u2019s death.\u201d https:\/\/twitter.com\/tempinilius\/status\/1543994619041648640?s=20&#038;t=1sY_mSJKNa-isXHP2Tb9dg ItsOwen previous YouTube bans This isn\u2019t the first time Owen has been banned, though. Just over one month before this account termination, he had already appealed to TeamYouTube, asking them to \u201cfix this\u201d regarding his ban. \u201cMy YouTube Channel with over 1.5 million subscribers got wrongfully terminated for \u2018repeated violations of community guidelines,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cI did not violate any community guidelines and never received a community guideline strike.\u201d https:\/\/twitter.com\/_ItsOwen\/status\/1529713245052870656?s=20&#038;t=1sY_mSJKNa-isXHP2Tb9dg The channel had also previously been banned in March 2021, pointing to a regular and persistent violation of YouTube guidelines in recent years from ItsOwen.
