YouTuber NikkieTutorials reveals she\u2019s transgender after alleged blackmail Cosmetics master and YouTube star Nikkie de Jager, better known as \u2018NikkieTutorials,\u2019 shocked the makeup world on January 13 by revealing she is transgender. \u201cPlanet earth is full with labels and I never felt comfortable with labels. I wanted to be my own person, my own identity, my own human being without any rules, without any labels, without any restrictions,\u201d she said. The \u201cPower of Makeup\u201d guru took back her own power after people were threatening to expose her to the press, according to de Jager. Instead, she took the initiative by stepping out of her comfort zone to take control of her story. Growing up through the lens of YouTube, de Jager revealed that while she identified as a girl by the age of six, her transition came later and at 14 she had to use \u201cgrowth stoppers\u201d due to her rapid growth. By the time she was 19, she completed her transition while broadcasting on YouTube. Nikkie\u2019s story is as unique as she is, with her YouTube audience literally seeing her journey unfold as she completed her transition into a woman and later a boss lady all through her videos. \u201cI transitioned while on YouTube,\u201d de Jager said. \u201cSaying that right now sounds so crazy to me because I have literally grown up and transformed into me in front of all of you.\u201d In telling her story, the YouTube star touched on her current affairs on those she loves, thanking her mother, family, and friends for the support that they have shown for her transition and life in her past. Though not everyone in her life has been as kind, de Jager dedicated time in the closing portions of her coming out video to address her blackmailers. \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to share this side of my story,\u201d she said. \u201cI just always wanted to do that under my conditions but apparently we live in a world where other people hate on people that are truly themselves.\u201d She talked about the \u201cevil\u201d people who blackmailed her and threatened to leak the story. Instead of giving in, she told them \u201cI\u2019m not scared\u201d in response to their attempted blackmail.
