EA Sports, the developers of FIFA 19 and managers of the game’s competitive scene, have suspended Tass from competing in qualifying tournaments and live events after the pro player said homophobic word in a recent video. “I am sorry to anyone I offended with what I said; I hold myself to a higher standard and I failed to live by FaZe and EA’s code of conduct,” he tweeted. “It was a wake up call that I need to be more careful with what I say. The moment in question came when he posted a video showing the rewards he had received for his performance in the previous week’s FIFA Ultimate Team Weekend League. After the same player card kept popping up in each of his player-pick pack rewards, he became frustrated and eventually called the player a “fucking f*g” I am sorry to anyone I offended with what I said, I hold myself to a higher standard & I failed to live by FaZe & EA’s code of conduct. It was a wake up call that I need to be more careful with what I say, I’ll use it as a learning curve moving ahead, I’ll be back competing soon. — Tass (@FaZeTass) November 5, 2018 He would later publish a video following up the announcement of his suspension, in which he explained to his audience and fans that his use of the word was down to pure misunderstanding. “The connotation of that word, from my perspective, until now, was just another word for ‘prick’ or’idiot,” he explained. “Not even 1% of me knew that it had any type of derogatory connotation towards homosexuality at all. If I knew it did, there is no way I’m saying anything like that.” He also said that the terms of his suspension have not yet been revealed, which means that his ban is currently indefinite until EA decide on a set time-table for when he can start competing again. “I know the first thing you’re going to ask is ‘how long?’” he said. “I don’t have the answer. I’ll keep you updated as much as I know, but as of right now I have no idea.” Due to his undefeated 30-0 performance in one of the previous Weekend Leagues, Tass had already qualified for the first major tournament of the competitive season, which he now knows he will not be able to participate in. This is the second major suspension that EA have handed out to a prominent FIFA pro player; ‘Kur0411’ was banned from competing for several months for making continuous negative comments about FIFA 19 and its developers.

EA ban FaZe pro FIFA player Tass from competing after he uses hateful slur in video FaZe Clan pro FIFA player ‘Tass’ has been served a strong punishment for using a slur word in one of his latest YouTube videos.
