Alongside long-time duo Richard Buckley, Smith has commentated the biggest events in FIFA over the last few years and made for some iconic moments, but this might be the biggest yet. He has officially become a Guinness World Record holder for a brand new record achieved in-game, and it’s genuinely mind-blowing to think about how much effort must have gone into it. On April 10, Smith announced that after an incredible performance between March 17-18, he officially holds the world record for the most FIFA 20 FUT Draft matches won in 24 hours. The record is a brand-new one having not been recorded before, and Smith clocked in with a whopping 63 matches won throughout those 24 hours – comfortably beating the minimum threshold of 50 that they had set for him. On average, this means Brandon won almost 3 matches every hour – which is especially impressive when you consider the FUT Draft is only four matches, anyway. The feat is even more impressive when you consider that it was completed during a 24-hour charity livestream, in which he managed to raise £1,500 for charities Young Minds and Cancer Research ITS OFFICIAL! 🤯 I’m now a @GWR holder 🥇 for the most FUT Draft matches won in 24 hours! 🙌 Still feels absolutely surreal that I’m now holding this certificate! Thank you to everyone who pushed me over the line ❤️ pic.twitter.com/0HF4XDiWcF — Brandon Smith (@BSmith_Esports) April 10, 2020 In a statement made exclusively to Dexerto, Smith said: “Achieving a GWR has always been something that I’ve wanted to do in the past, it was just a case of which record to attempt! It had to be something FIFA related, but also something that would be challenging both mentally and physically.” He also added that the hardest part was “definitely the night shift” at around 4-6am, as he had played about 50 games back to back for 18-20 hours. Although he made the record with 63 wins, it’s unfathomable to think that there were probably some losses in there, too, and he likely had to endure far more than 63, and those losses must have made it even harder to keep going as a result. Responding to former professional footballer David Meyler, Smith said that it’s more of a mental challenge than a skill-based one, which certainly makes sense given how stressful FUT Draft can be at the best of times. Aha, genuinely think it could be broken – but maybe only by a few. It’s more mental then skill by that point 😂 Good luck on the charity stream! — Brandon Smith (@BSmith_Esports) April 10, 2020 Needless to say, there were plenty of avid FIFA players in the responses – pros included – saying that they would be interested in giving it a go, so Brandon might not be the record holder for much longer.

FIFA 20 commentator earns Guinness World Record for insane FUT Draft Twitter: BSmith_EsportsFIFA player Brandon Smith is most widely known for being the voice of FIFA esports the world over – but now he’s entered the Guinness Book of World Records for his gameplay.
