Fantasy FUT showered us with packs to open and SBCs to compete, while FUT Birthday and ICON Swaps 2 gave us plenty to work towards. The pace shows no signs of letting up, as the next major FUT event is officially here. FUT Captains is a brand new concept in FIFA 22, and it will be focused on the Heroes that were introduced at the beginning of the season, as well as the best leaders still playing today. Contents FIFA 22 FUT Captains start date According to reputable leaker FUT Sheriff, the FUT Captains promo was expected to start on Friday, April 8, 2022. Right on schedule, EA released the first Captains team at 6 PM GMT on April 8 just as leaks had suggested. FIFA 22 FUT Captains Team 1 cards revealed The following cards were released on April 8 as part of FUT Captains Team 1: FIFA 22 FUT Captains leaked concept FIFA-leaker TrustyFutTrader revealed the rumored concept on Twitter, backed later by FutSheriff. As the name gives away, the FUT Captains event will supposedly focus on the Hero players that were captains for their club or country. According to the leak, FUT Heroes that were given the armband during their playing days will receive hugely upgraded cards. These cards are said to be totally new and will replace the originals in packs over the course of the event. They appear to be similar to Icon Moments that came to FIFA 22 recently, raising the ratings and in-game stats of players to make them more in keeping with the FUT power curve. Current leaders will also receive huge upgrades in the form of a promo team coming to packs. Expect to see massive stat boosts that produce some seriously meta cards.
