Final Fantasy VII Remake did more than just remake the classic JRPG, as the story twisted in a new direction, one that opens all kinds of possibilities for different storylines for its two upcoming sequels. The change in the storyline means that characters who weren’t present in Final Fantasy VII can now make an appearance. This has already happened, with characters from the novels (like Kyrie) appearing in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Weiss from Dirge of Cerberus appearing in the INTERmission DLC. As Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has finally left Midgar, it has allowed even more characters to appear in the story, with the player free to travel the game’s world and encounter all kinds of heroes and villains, one of whom has already been spoiled. Spoilers for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are below the image. Turn back now to avoid spoilers! Gilgamesh will appear in FF7 Rebirth The trophy list for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on Insider Gaming and it has revealed that Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V will appear in the game as a boss, granting the “Bladesman of Legend” Silver Trophy to those who defeat him. While Gilgamesh debuted in Final Fantasy V, he’s one of the few characters who has canonically appeared in multiple entries in the series, thanks to his ability to travel between the planes as he attempts to find his way back home. Gilgamesh has appeared as a boss in multiple mainline Final Fantasy games and their spin-offs, where he fights with a selection of mythological swords and weapons used by famous characters from the series, including Squall’s Gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII. Gilgamesh has crossed blades with Cloud Strife in the Dissidia series, but it’s awesome to hear that he’ll be appearing in a Final Fantasy VII game, where he’s likely one of the post-game secret bosses. It’s also surprising to learn he’s not being saved for paid DLC. It’s a shame Square Enix didn’t obfuscate Gilgamesh’s name in the trophy list, especially so close to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s launch, but at least players know that one fan-favorite character is going to be making an unexpected appearance as a boss.

FF7 Rebirth trophy list spoils unexpected return of fan-favorite character Square EnixFinal Fantasy VII Rebirth’s trophy list on PlayStation 5 is out in the wild, spoiling the appearance of a fan-favorite character.
