According to the devs, there\u2019s a \u201cbright future\u201d in store for Valisthea. In a recent interview with Famitsu, members from FFXVI\u2019s development team sat down to talk about what players can expect from the recently announced Leviathan DLC, The Rising Tide. According to Takeo Kujiraoka, director of The Rising Tide, development began \u201cwith the idea of wanting to adventure in a brighter world.\u201d Valisthea\u2019s new hope Kujiraoka said his aim was to \u201cexpand the player experience\u201d by incorporating everything that makes up the world of Valisthea. Including it\u2019s locations, side quests and dramatic combat. \u201cAbove all, I wanted to create and show the part where a new story begins, in a new field, under a blue sky.\u201d Although he also warns players the new DLC won\u2019t pick up directly after the ending of FFXVI\u2019s main story. \u201cBut the story is designed to give you a sense of hope,\u201d he says. \u201cEven if the crystal disappears from Valisthea, its people will surely be able to recover.\u201d The Rising Tide also includes a fun Easter egg for long-time fans of the Final Fantasy franchise. The newly added area, Mysidia, is a \u201ctribute\u201d to the mage settlements in Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy IV.
