However, several servers have taken to social media to share the weird requests they\u2019ve received from customers, including demanding their food be fresh, or making \u201chacks\u201d to their foods to try viral trends. One server named Kate took to TikTok to share one weird request she often gets while working at a place that sells Chinese food. Kate told the camera: \u201cI always have customers come up and ask if we have ketchup, I\u2019m always so confused, because I\u2019m like, what the f**k are you putting ketchup on? Your fried rice? Your orange chicken?\u201d Click here if video doesn\u2019t load \u201cIt\u2019s so funny because I\u2019ll be like \u2018no, sorry, we don\u2019t have ketchup.\u2019 And they always look so confused, like so shocked,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m always like \u2018what are you putting ketchup on, and why do you look so lost without it?\u2019\u201d Viewers completely agreed with Kate and said they\u2019d been through similar things. Some also went on to share what other condiments they\u2019d seen people have with their Chinese meals. One person wrote: \u201cMy BF puts ranch on his fried rice it\u2019s a damn atrocity.\u201d \u201cI dip my sweet and sour chicken in ketchup cause I don\u2019t like sweet and sour sauce,\u201d a second person said. \u201cHear me out girl\u2026 don\u2019t knock it till you try it. Ketchup on white rice,\u201d a third user commented. But asking for ketchup at restaurants that serve Asian cuisine might not be as unusual as Kate and some commenters believe. \u201cI am Asian. I put ketchup in my fried rice,\u201d one person commented. \u201cKetchup on East Asian fried rice is such a staple for elementary East Asian kids!
