The vintage heart cake has become a big trend in 2024, with tons of reels and TikToks on social media platforms. These cakes are called \u201cvintage\u201d or \u201cretro\u201d because they\u2019ve actually been around for centuries. They\u2019re known for their extravagant, over-piped designs and \u201ccan be traced back to the French Rococo style of the 1700s \u2013 an age known for its ornate and gilded designs.\u201d As a reflection of the time-consuming process behind decorating these kinds of cakes, they tend to be quite expensive. Independent bakers will typically charge upwards of $125. This is why TikToker, Dynastinichelle, is going viral, as she managed to grab one of these from Walmart for only $17.98. The cake was white, modeled in a heart shape with edible pearls and piping detail. The middle of the cake said \u201cAries Angel\u201d in cursive letters. \u201cI ordered it Thursday morning and the cake was ready on Friday, like at 2:30. Don\u2019t spend that money on a cake. This cake was $17.98,\u201d said Dynastinichelle. With the video eclipsing 1 million views, many are astounded by the low price. \u201cGirl it looks identical to mine from my birthday and that was $80,\u201d one wrote, clearly impressed. \u201cThat cake decorator has skill! She should open her own business,\u201d another chimed in. \u201cHow did you get the cake to be heart-shaped? I\u2019m trying to customize my sister\u2019s cake and I only see circle shapes. Please help,\u201d one wrote in. Though it\u2019s classified as a \u2018custom cake,\u2019 the heart shape isn\u2019t an option on the store\u2019s website. So, if you want to get your hands on one, you\u2019ll have to make a visit to the store just like Dynastinichelle did.
