Van de Beek joined United in 2020 after gaining a reputation as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe, but his stay at Old Trafford has been nothing short of disastrous. Van de Beek has completed 90 minutes on just nine occasions since joining United, and only managed that feat three times in the Premier League. \u2018I told Donny that I was sorry\u2019 Van de Beek joined Frankfurt on loan in January and has made four Bundesliga appearances for them but was last week excluded from the team\u2019s Europa Conference League squad. \u201cHe\u2019s only played a total of four games in the last two years, so it won\u2019t happen overnight,\u201d Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmoller said. \u201cBut I have 100% confidence in his quality, he\u2019ll definitely help us in the second half of the season.
