According to a leak from Twitter user and leaker VastBlast, Fornite\u2019s LiveBroadcasting server has been updated to the game\u2019s upcoming v16.00 patch (the Season 6 launch). The leaker then goes on to say that he believes this was done because Epic is planning a major tournament that they\u2019ll want to broadcast during Season 6 and although that\u2019s all speculation, it\u2019s easy to see why he thinks that. The Fortnite LiveBroadcasting server has been updated to the v16.00 build today! The last time it was updated was in January with the v11.40 build, for the DreamHack Anaheim event \ud83e\udd14 pic.twitter.com\/0vzPrqpJLm \u2014 VastBlast (@VastBlast) March 3, 2021 According to him VastBlast, the last time the server was updated was for DreamHack event in Anaheim, CA, which took place in January 2020. It\u2019s reasonable to assume that Epic wouldn\u2019t be updating the server again if they weren\u2019t planning something major, although he does mention this is just pure speculation.
