Fortnite players call for OG to be permanent after new game modes underwhelm Epic GamesFortnite players have once again demanded that Epic Games return the fan-favorite OG version permantly after the three new modes, including LEGO Fortnite, has declined in popularity. Fortnite unleashed three groundbreaking new game modes to kick off Chapter 5 Season 1 on December 3, 2023. Fresh off the back of The Big Bang event, players surged in to check out the \u201cwhole new beginning\u201d as records were instantly shattered. Rocket Racing, Festival and in particularly LEGO Fortnite, caused the game to achieve over 44 million players in just one day. However, following calls for more features to be added and declining player count figures for the new modes, players in the community have again rallied for the fan-favorite Fortnite OG to make a permanent return. Fortnite players slam new game modes over decreasing popularity Fortnite player MrSponge_ fired back at claims in the community that \u201cFortnite OG shouldn\u2019t be a permanent mode it will have no players and get boring.\u201d To which they responded: \u201cMeanwhile the other permanent modes other than BR:,\u201d and posted a screenshot from the Discover tab to compare the player count figures across each main mode. The staple Battle Royale mode showed over 300,000 active players, while Festival had the least with just over 5,000, Rocket Racing with nearly 8,000 and finally LEGO Fortnite with close to 28,000. Players soon chimed in to give their thoughts. The top comment read: \u201cAdmittedly\u2026 there\u2019s work to do on those early modes. Rocket racing ranked is very frustrating at some point. Festival probably sells songs, so they\u2019re fine with that. And anyone I know playing LEGO has already \u2018beat\u2019 it.\u201d Much of the discussion revolved around players ultimately getting bored with each mode and heading back to BR \u201cI actually really liked LEGO, but after I had done everything there was to do in survival, I lost interest in it. It doesn\u2019t have the depth of a lot of the other survival games like that,\u201d one player said. Despite some stating that \u201cIt\u2019s early. They have a ton planned for LEGO\u201d and the other modes, others were less convinced. \u201cThey shouldn\u2019t have released it in its current state imo. Coinciding the release with Chapter 5 definitely hurt them,\u201d one said as another claimed that \u201cLEGO would have been 100x better if the world was actually made of LEGOs, it\u2019s an extremely bland looking crafting game compared to the competition.\u201d Whether you are enjoying Fortnite\u2019s new modes or not, they are still only just over two months old and Epic Games has already outlined plans for continued updates. In 2024, they have already launched two content updates.
