Fortnite Chapter 5 marked a large undertaking for Epic Games, as the Battle Royale evolved to include more than just zany gunfights and build wars. Open up Fortnite, and three new modes offer alternative ways to play via LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. That said, the Battle Royale portion received love from the devs via new gameplay additions like the mod system, a new map, and other movement mechanics. Now, with this season\u2019s end on the horizon, Fortnite players are rallying together to talk about what this season did right and wrong. Fortnite players discuss Chapter 5 Season 1\u2019s changes In a Reddit thread, Fortnite player Jumanji2WasAScam shared: \u201cHow do you guys feel about the changes? Do you like it or want Epic to go back to pre-chapter 5?\u201d They go on to list highlights from the season \u2014 such as the change in art style, locker UI, and the mod systems \u2014 and how they pretty much negatively impacted their season\u2019s enjoyment. For example regarding the locker: \u201cYeah, I\u2019ve pretty much not messed with my locker since the new chapter because they messed it up so bad.\u201d They concluded: \u201cThis is my own opinion, but this feels the least like Fortnite than at any point, and I hate it.\u201d Their opinion wasn\u2019t unpopular, with plenty of other players sharing similar reactions. \u201cAfter about a month and a half, I just found the season boring. I wanted some meatier updates like Chapter 4, seasons where we got new POIs or small locations or map changes,\u201d one player said. Others ripped into the mod system, as many found it boring and pointless. \u201cMods are completely useless, imo. For every weapon, there is one optimal setup and that\u2019s the one everyone\u2019s crafting,\u201d one player stated. On a positive note, one reply said: \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed the season. It hasn\u2019t been my favorite, but it\u2019s been new and different, which is good. I think a lot of the ideas introduced won\u2019t stick around long-term, at least not for Ch 6.\u201d They continued to share how the addition of the new modes such as Festival was fun, while the TMNT crossover was a neat nostalgia trip.
