The Fortnite developers traditionally add new elements or major map upgrades season after season, and so far they’ve managed to make those changes while staying compatible with low spec requirements from its users. But that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore as it looks like the devs are going for better optimizations when Season 10 comes out that will require beefier computer builds from their player base. PC players are going to have to upgrade soon In a June 21 announcement, Epic Games announced that starting with Season 10, players on PC will have to upgrade to “a graphics card capable of running Microsoft DirectX 11.” While it’s true that Fortnite has always asked its players to have a graphics card that can run DirectX 11, Epic Games are looking to integrate far superior changes that will hopefully make the overall game experience much better. “… We’ve kept support online for players with older graphics cards – so they could keep playing!” Epic Games said. “However, when Season 10 begins, Fortnite will no longer be compatible with these older graphics cards. This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players.” The developers didn’t go into the specific changes they plan on implementing or what the new minimum graphics card requirements would be, but the announcement was already enough to raise some ire from the community. Why would Fortnite need better graphics cards in Season 10? Meanwhile there were more people excited for what the announcement could be alluding to in the near future, with some speculating that Epic Games are planning on introducing a new map with Season 10. Even without requiring a beefed up graphics card, the Fortnite devs have been able to do incredible things with their game which has seen the map change in seasons, add PvE elements right into the battle royale, and so much more. This might mean that whatever the next season brings, it could include more intricate elements into the game than previously seen. While a lot of people might have to plan ahead on how they’ll keep their system compatible with the upcoming Season 10, it might be well worth it in the end to see what Epic Games cooks up this time.

Fortnite Season 10 will force players to upgrade their graphics card Epic GamesSome Fortnite Battle Royale players anticipating the launch of Season 10 for the game might want to start saving up for a new graphics card when the next chapter of the game rolls around soon.
