Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite‘s in-game cosmetics might be some of the most ambitious undertakings the game has seen. Since the season’s arrival, players have gotten their hands on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, another wave of DBZ skins, not to mention the Battle Pass has Solid Snake and Peter Griffin. Around the arrival of the long-awaited patch 28.10, reports circulated that Epic Games would continue the Family Guy collaborations with more skins coming. Those reports were proven correct, with Peter Griffin’s nemesis, Ernie the Giant Chicken, joining the playable roster. However, Ernie’s arrival has been interesting, to say the least. Players are claiming it’s a “pay to lose” skin, while others are just plain confused by his implementation in-game. Fortnite players divided on Giant Chicken skin The most obvious point of contention with the Giant Chicken skin is the character’s model, which has caused a twofold dilemma. Firstly, yes, it’s “lore accurate,” as Ernie is quite menacing. However, it’s proven to be quite an issue with players sharing that it’s possible to clip the character through walls. That said, hitboxes in Fortnite have been an iffy subject as the game has gone on. Many think the size of a character model doesn’t matter, while others do, and the comments in the clip above certainly reflect that division. When Peter Griffin arrived in Fortnite, his appearance “broke the internet,” as fans were in awe of his handsome appearance. This raises the second issue fans are having — why Epic Games couldn’t give Peter Griffin his standard appearance in-game. Again, Peter’s in-game appearance is “lore accurate” to the show, yet with Ernie’s model nearly exact to show counterpart, this left fans in a state of confusion. Numerous threads and debates have discussed this discrepancy, with fans sitting on the conspiracy that Epic Games will sell a “Fat Peter” skin later on. We’ll just have to see how the story unfolds, but with both characters now in-game, expect to see an influx of recreations of their iconic standoffs.

Fortnite’s “Pay to lose” Giant Chicken skin has players divided Epic GamesFortnite’s Giant Chicken skin is causing a scene, with players claiming it’s pay to lose, along with other levels of varying confusion.
