New 14 Days of Fortnite emote release delayed until 2019 [UPDATE] Epic GamesUPDATE \u2013 December 26, 2018 (6:15pm ET) Along with the announcement of a fix for widespread server issues on December 26, Epic Games have announced that the issue for the new \u2018Take the Elf\u2019 emote has been resolved and players should receive their emotes \u201cimmediately after completion.\u201d We’ve deployed a fix addressing the issues encountered earlier today. Login and Game Services have been restored and the elf is back on the shelf. Players that have earned the Take The Elf Emote will now receive it as a gift or immediately after completion. \u2014 Fortnite (@FortniteGame) December 26, 2018 Some Fortnite players will have to wait until 2019 to get the new \u2018Take the Elf\u2019 emote after Epic Games made it unavailable shortly after release. The emote is a tribute to the legendary \u2018Take the L\u2019 emote, and was able to be earned by players as a reward for completing the Day 8 \u201814 Days of Fortnite\u2019 challenge. Day 8\u2019s challenge isn\u2019t too difficult either, all players have to do is \u201cDamage opponents with different weapons\u201d to complete it. But, shortly after the release of the Day 8 challenge, Epic Games announced on Twitter that they had removed the emote after they \u201cidentified an issue with the Take the Elf emote not being granted to players after completing the Day 8 challenge.\u201d But, because of the issue, Epic said they would be giving the \u2018Take the Elf\u2019 emote to all players who complete the Day 8 challenge sometime \u201cearly next year.\u201d We have identified an issue with the Take the Elf emote not being granted to players after completing the Day 8 challenge. There is no official date for when the \u2018Take the L\u2019 emote will be made available to players, though.
