This isn’t the first time Ninja has made a request for Epic in 2020 either. Last week, the Mixer star admitted he’s “not having fun” with the Fortnite, and said if the host of bugs and glitches weren’t fixed the game would struggle. Now he’s taken aim at another element key to the battle royale’s gameplay — the storm, and the ring that closes in around players as matches reach their finale. According to Ninja, there are a few problems that are compounding into each other to create a difficult situation with the title right now: mainly, the new map is just far too big, meaning players are struggling to reach the ring. Added to that, Epic’s removal of items like the divisive Baller and the BRUTE mechs, while good for the competitive integrity of the game, has left the mobility options lacking. This only got worse when the launch pads were vaulted too. All of this combines to create brutal slogs from one side of the map to the other, just to make sure you don’t get caught in the storm, and Ninja thinks it’s a “little stupid” to have so much of the game based around escaping a game element. “With the least amount of mobility Fortnite has ever had, and an even bigger map, the incredible zone pulls to one side of the map ten times in a row is a little stupid,” Ninja said. “More mobility needs to be added, or less dramatic zone pulls.” With the least amount of mobility that Fortnite has ever had, and an even bigger map than season 1, the incredible zone pulls to one side of the map 10 times in a row is a little stupid. More mobility needs to be added, or less dramatic zone pulls. — Ninja (@Ninja) January 12, 2020 Ironically, this wasn’t the tune the Mixer star took towards the end of 2019. He and Twitch star Ali ‘SypherPK’ Hassan agreed the game was “so good” in Chapter 2, and that Epic had done “such a good job” with their latest updates. At the time, Ninja also added the game “doesn’t need launch pads, it doesn’t need mobility,” when asked by a fan if he missed those elements of the game. His theory was Epic were “taking their time” with the development in the second chapter, after they “reset the game entirely” with ‘The End.’ In his eyes, it wasn’t such a bad thing considering “how crazy it was” at the end of Chapter 1. Now it seems like maybe he’s changed his tune on the slow pace Epic is taking in 2020, potentially after the Mixer star got caught in one too many storms. Whether or not he doubles-down on his new thoughts, or goes back to preaching patience, Ninja isn’t the only content creator fed up — YouTuber Lannan ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott revealed he’s going to play less Fortnite this year, while Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney has notoriously taken swipes at the title whenever he can.

Ninja explains why Fortnite needs to add “more mobility” in Chapter 2 Mixer superstar Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has doubled-down on his call for “more mobility” in Fortnite, suggesting Chapter 2’s huge map and the “incredible” zone pulls that come with it could be fixed with new movement options.
