Pokimane has taken a liking to Fortnite over the last couple of years, even getting immortalized in the popular battle royale in the form of an emote. However, she’s starting to enjoy playing the game less and less — at least on stream. Explaining why in a February 3 YouTube video, the reason behind her practically stopping playing Fortnite on stream is a very simple one. “I feel like I can play it for a few hours, but I don’t really like to stream it,” she said, explaining to a duos partner. “I get a million stream snipers, and then I want to cry.” It’s understandable that Pokimane would be the target of stream snipers and trolls looking to get their names on stream for a quick clip. She’s one of the most popular personalities on Twitch, and getting in her clips is somewhat of an achievement for some players. However, the people who aim so hard to get into her games also make them less enjoyable. She can be targeted by upwards of a dozen players every game, looking to get their five seconds of fame in the killfeed, giving her very little time to actually play for fun. For mobile readers, the related segment begins at 3:03. Those weren’t Pokimane’s only complaints about the current state of Fortnite though. “I feel like Fortnite hasn’t released anything in a minute,” she said, talking to her duo about the lack of content updates since the release of Chapter 2. This sentiment has been echoed by pro players and streamers alike, where stream snipers and the lack of content have made the Fortnite experience boring as of late. Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney used that exact word to describe the battle royale, choosing to defect to games like Escape from Tarkov for the time being. “I’m going to play Tarkov obviously, I’m not playing f**king Fortnite, it’s so boring,” he said. “Even when I was on zero ping it was f**king boring dude. They need to come out with a new season ASAP bro.” Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, the game’s most recognizable name, added he was expecting more from the Chapter 2 update, and Epic Games is yet to deliver. “There’s only one thing that makes sense for the incredible lack of content being added and weapons and…I don’t want to say incredible, but, I think this next season, it’s got to be the craziest thing ever – it’s got to be,” he said. That next season is still a couple of weeks away, with Chapter 2: Season 2 set to be released on February 20. While it might not solve stream sniper problems Pokimane is having problems with, it could be an enticing draw for her, and a lot of other streamers, returning to the game that once dominated Twitch.

Pokimane explains why she stopped streaming Fortnite YouTube: Pokimane / Epic Games / TwitchImane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is an avid player of Fortnite, but she doesn’t get the same kick from playing it in front of her adoring fans, recently explaining why she’s practically stopped streaming the game for the foreseeable future.
