Skill-based matchmaking is a hot topic in the gaming community, with fans of rival battle royale title Apex Legends upset that it\u2019s been added to the game, while Call of Duty fans are convinced that Modern Warfare also utilizes the system. Epic introduced their own skill-based matchmaking system at the start of Chapter 2, and with many \u2013 including Ali-A \u2013 not fans, SypherPK believes Epic Games may have listened to player complaints and adjusted it. While streaming on December 8, the 23-year-old explained that while playing throughout the day, he had noticed some differences in his lobby \u2014 specifically mentioning that he felt there were less high-skilled players in the lobby than there had been previously. \u201cI think they changed the matchmaking,\u201d the streamer told his chat. \u201cI think they definitely changed the matchmaking a little bit today, or in the recent update. They might have loosened it up a bit.\u201d \u201cThe skill-based matchmaking. Listen, there\u2019s always going to be players that are questionable, not as good, but today I\u2019ve noticed a huge increase in free kills. Like it\u2019s less strict skill-based matchmaking. Epic Games have yet to clarify if Sypher\u2019s opinion is actually correct, and based on how things have gone in Chapter 2, it\u2019s possible we may never know for sure. For 10 seasons, the developers of the massively popular battle royale game would release patch notes detailing everything that was happening inside Fortnite, but have decided not to with the start of the game\u2019s new chapter.
