The Fortnite World Cup is expected to be one of the biggest esports tournament in history, with a prize pool of $30 million up for grabs for those who manage to qualify for the New York event. With many of world’s top players battling it out for a spot, some players have even been caught going to the extremes of cheating in attempt to qualify for the the finals. One of the players, XXiF, was found guilty of teaming in the solo qualifiers and received a 14-day-ban following Week 3 of the online tournament, has since qualified during Week 8 in the NA East region. Many players and fans were quite unhappy when they found out that pro players Damion ‘XXiF’ C. and Ronald ‘Ronaldo’ Mach finished with 91 points, booking their place in the finals after finishing in 3rd place overall. NICKMERCS was among the few to speak out once it was confirmed that they would be attending the World Cup and began questioning if they were cheating again after finding a tweet from XXiF allegedly teaming with one of the players he killed in Week 8, saying, “that relays guy, is the guy who landed on him.” Although it still remains unclear if they were cheating again, NICKMERCS seemed convinced of it and didn’t want to them to be part of the tournament finals in New York, “I believe fully now that’s all I needed to see […] that’s dirty.” Tfue also shared his thoughts on the cheating accusations in a more light-hearted manner, jokingly saying, “Listen, I don’t think they’ve ever cheated but I know where I’m landing the last week of duos,” Tfue was referring to the place where XXiF supposedly got the the free kills from his former teammate “relays13fn” and went on to joke that all of the “bots” land there and that he could take advantage of it, saying, “Just get free kills [there] every week.” Tfue and NICKMERCS were among many of the competitive community who were unhappy with the qualification of the duo, such as caster DrLupo who did not hold back. Despite the latest set of cheating accusations against the pair, they are still set to compete in New York at the tournament’s finals. The event is set to take place on July 26 and will feature some of the biggest names in competitive Fortnite Battle Royale taking part in the Solo and Duo tournaments.

Tfue and NICKMERCS blast cheaters who qualified for Fortnite World Cup FaZeClanPopular Twitch stars, Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff shared their thoughts on the previously banned XXiF qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup Duos tournament.
