The Winter Royale is Fortnite’s first open tournament, where players from around the world can compete by simply playing qualification matches in online public matches. It also serves as qualification for the Fortnite World Cup in 2019, so there is a lot on the line for current and aspiring competitive players – which is why Myth is so frustrated. The Winter Royale was not only held the weekend of Thanksgiving, but also only announced on the Tuesday November 20, giving players only a matter of days to prepare. Myth, like others, had plans with family over the Thanksgiving holiday, meaning he was heading home to Michigan – and leaving his setup behind. Myth was happy and complimentary that Epic were “investing time and resources into the event system”, but feels that it could have been managed better. On Twitter, he questioned the planning of the event “during one of the biggest American holidays.” Welp, dinner with my family so I have to stop trying to qualify for a 1 million dollar tournament. Ohh I wonder the thought it would be the brightest idea to plan this shit on one of the biggest American holidays. As @TSM_Daequan would say… THIS GAME TRAAAAAAASH. — Myth (@TSM_Myth) November 25, 2018 Playing his first day of qualifying matches on a 60Hz refresh rate monitor, he has set out to purchase a 144Hz monitor to continue his matches while not at home. Myth had even ordered a computer to his family’s home, but it failed to arrive on time, causing yet another set back as he tries to ensure qualification as one of Fortnite’s most recognized pro players. He later apoligized for being so negative, but held firm on his stance that the Winter Royale “could have been managed better.” Sorry for my latest tweets and how negative they’ve , I just feel like all of this could have been managed better. Other than my ranting I hope everyone has a good time qualifying. LOOOOOOVEEE YAAAA — Myth (@TSM_Myth) November 25, 2018 Myth wasn’t the only high profile player to run into problems on day one of qualifying either, as FaZe Clan pro Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney was plagued by hackers and stream snipers. The Winter Royale qualification continues over the weekend of November 25 and 26, with all players getting their opportunity to qualify for Fortnite’s biggest event yet.

TSM’s Myth hits out at Epic for timing of Fortnite Winter Royale qualifier TSM Pro player and popular streamer Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani has voiced his frustration with the timing of Fortnite’s ‘Winter Royale’ open tournament, which boasts a massive $1 million in prizing.
