Fortnite fans are debating whether the coin flip mechanic that gave players a 50/50 chance to take walls is even in the game anymore. During the midway point of Season 10, Epic introduced numerous changes to turbo building and instead of favoring the person with lower ping when it came to taking walls, they introduced a coin flip mechanic that evened the playing field. Before, the lower ping players were always given the wall over the higher ping one, but the coin flip gave each player a fighting chance. Starting with Chapter 2, players are wondering if that mechanic is even in the game anymore and have started to ask questions. A thread posted on the Fortnite Competitive subreddit caused a lot of discussion from both sides, with some players saying the coin flip is still in the game, while others say they have tested it several times and it is gone. Some players are completely sure the mechanic is still in the game and have said others who say it isn’t are outright spreading false information. “Coinflip is very obviously in the game,” said Redditor ballatw. “Just go test with a partner.” With that being said, this was followed up with a response who doesn’t buy that. “This is 100% false,” said Krashys. In the past, this would have been a very easy thing for players to find out on their own, since they could just go and read the patch notes. Read More: Fortnitemares chest location – However, patch notes seem to have become a thing of the past with Chapter 2 as each update so far has been very scarce with information. Fans have instead been relying on short blog posts posted on the Epic Games website or updates to the game’s Trello board for indicators about what’s changed. It’s highly likely that the coin flip mechanic is still in the game, as that would be a major move for Epic to make without informing any players. It does seem like a strange coincidence that players have started complaining about this right on the heels of Epic holding back patch notes. Some players have chalked it up to being a bug, which could be entirely possible since Chapter 2 has had a couple of major ones, like the invincibility spot in Slurpy Swamp. As of the time of writing, the developers haven’t addressed it so either it’s still in the game or the problem isn’t widespread enough to talk about just yet.

Is the wall taking coin flip still in Fortnite Chapter 2?
