They will star as the two playable protagonists known as Edward (the detective) and Emily (the niece looking for her uncle). Alone in the Dark reboot storyline & gameplay The Alone in the Dark reboot will take place in the same location as the first game, the Derceto Mansion, and will essentially be a remake of the original entry from 1993. Quite how faithful or loosely the reboot follows those events remains to be seen. However, the game will abandon all the previous timelines that have been established in various older Alone in the Dark games and start a new continuity. It will include the original protagonists Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood and is set to take place in New Orleans in the 1920s.
