Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 had an explosive launch gaining widespread acclaim. It shattered records on Steam for concurrent player counts backing up the hype with more tangible numbers. After becoming a critical, audience, and industry darling, Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 became 2023\u2019s Game of the Year. With accolades like that, extending its lifecycle and expanding the game seems like a no-brainer. Right? Here is what we know about possible DLC for Baldur\u2019s Gate 3. Is Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 DLC in the works? Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 will not be getting any dedicated DLC or expansions. Despite the game\u2019s success and the industry\u2019s tendency to milk anything that could generate a hint of profit, Larian has made the decision to move on. IGN reported that Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke announced the decision at the 2024 Games Developers Conference (GDC). While there\u2019s no official quote from Vincke, IGN stated \u201cThe developer isn\u2019t planning to release any expansions or DLC for Baldur\u2019s Gate 3\u201d. The reveal came as a bit of a shock because while Larian hadn\u2019t previously confirmed whether or not DLC was coming, there were hints at the possibility. Senior Product Manager Tom Butler told IGN at Gamescom 2023 \u201cWe genuinely have discussions [about DLC]. We want to do more. We don\u2019t know what yet.\u201d Plans have obviously changed since and while it\u2019s a bit of a shame, what Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 offers in its base game and the various free content updates Larian has produced since launch is enough to tide most players over.
