Sure, he seems honorable, and he protects you from being corrupted by the cult of the Absolute, but the way he goes about doing this is questionable at best. We also can\u2019t forget that he catfishes you as the awesome dream guardian that you spent hours creating at the beginning of the game. That\u2019s not something we can forgive easily. When Act 3 gets going, players are presented with a wide variety of ways to approach the ending of the game, one of which involves betraying the Emperor and throwing your lot in with Raphael, who\u2019s after the Netherite crown being worn by the Elder Brain. Act 3 interaction has players seeing the Emperor in a different light However, the impact of this interaction on your relationship with the Emperor has made some players much warier of the illithid, with one even branding it as \u201cnightmare fuel\u201d.
