Death Stranding is slated to come out on November 8, 2019, but it’s been hyped as one of the biggest games of the year since it was announced in 2018. Now, the hype is increasing exponentially after Kojima shared new details and gameplay footage from the game at Gamescom 2019’s Opening Night on August 19. One of the new characters introduced was “MAMA” (played by actress Margaret Qualley) who seems to have something to do with those babies everyone in Death Stranding is carrying around in pods. What is up with those babies? Up until Gamescom, trailers for Death Stranding left fans with way more questions than answers, but thanks to the latest gameplay and trailers revealed, we have a better idea of what’s going on in the world the game is set in. In a trailer featuring Deadman – played by director Guillermo Del Toro – the babies and their pods are fully explained: where they come from, what they’re used for and more. But it still might leave you just as confused as ever, even with the new information. Besides attempting to explain a little of what Death Stranding is about, Kojima also revealed that his close friend, Gamescom host and video game personality Geoff Keighley would be making an appearance in the game as well. For those who don’t care about cameos or pod babies, even though the latter appear to be key in Death Stranding, there was roughly six new minutes of gameplay revealed at Gamescom as well. On top of how to care for your pod baby and some impressive-looking urinating gameplay – the preview also gave us an idea of what part of a mission could look like Death Stranding, Geoff included. We still might not have much of an idea of what Death Stranding is about or how it will play, but based on the reception from Kojima’s appearance, it’s definitely one of the most anticipated games of 2019.

Hideo Kojima reveals even more Death Stranding cameos at Gamescom 2019 Kojima ProductionsVideo game mastermind Hideo Kojima shared some awesome and hilarious new details about his upcoming game Death Stranding during his appearance at Gamescom 2019.
