Here\u2019s what to know before pre-ordering. Guerrilla Games are back with pre-order information for Forbidden West, the long-awaited sequel to 2017\u2019s Horizon Zero Dawn. In the meantime, here\u2019s a breakdown of each edition you\u2019ll be able to pick up before the game\u2019s release on February 18, 2022. PS5 upgrade for Horizon Forbidden West The standard edition of the game is exactly what you\u2019d expect. Regardless of which system you buy it for, this version will only come with the base game and none of the extra bells and whistles. After facing major blowback from fans over the initial PS4 to PS5 upgrade path (which required fans to shell out $10 more for the Digital Deluxe edition), Sony and Guerrilla reversed course and confirmed they would honor their original promise to fans. If you purchase the PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West, you will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version at a later date for no extra cost. Digital Deluxe Edition This is where things start to ramp up. The Digital Deluxe edition includes the game for PS4 and PS5, along with a few extra in-game items and outfits. The most notable item included here is the Nora Legacy outfit which seems to be inspired by Aloy\u2019s father figure Rost. This edition also comes with The Sunhawk \u2013 the first Horizon Zero Dawn graphic novel. It follows Talannah of Meridian as she navigates through the world after the conclusion of the first game. Special Edition The Special Edition includes an upgraded artbook (offering a physical copy instead of the digital version that comes in the Deluxe Edition), and you will also receive a shiny new steel book to go along with it. This edition doesn\u2019t come with the in-game items from before but it does include the digital soundtrack \u2014 and perhaps most importantly, if you purchase the Special Edition for PS4 you can upgrade your title to the PS5 version later. Collector\u2019s Edition The Collector\u2019s Edition is truly worth its namesake. This version of the game combines all of the added bonuses of the other editions into one, and throws in a terrifying Tremortusk statue to boot. That\u2019s not to mention the special display case for the steel book either. This edition will cost you though, as it retails for $199.99. Regalla Edition This is the ultimate Forbidden West experience. A replica Focus, a high-quality map, and the upgraded Tremortusk combine to create one of the most unique gaming collections in recent memory \u2014 and that\u2019s before mentioning the in-game items. This mighty bundle will set you back $259.99 and is only available for a limited time. And there you have it, that\u2019s all there is to know about the pre-order editions for Horizon Forbidden West.
