Metroid Prime remaster may release later this year During the most recent episode of GiantBomb\u2019s Game Mess Mornings, VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb claimed the first Metroid Prime is getting the \u201cbig remaster treatment.\u201d It will, apparently, hit stores for Nintendo Switch in holiday 2022, Grubb noted. \u201cI can say that I\u2019ve been told pretty definitively that Metroid Prime Remastered is going to be one of their big holiday games. In the past, this is something I\u2019d heard was in the works\u2026 \u201cNow I\u2019ve been told that their plans are to release that game this holiday, I think almost certainly to line up with the 20th anniversary in November.\u201d The journalist added that while Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will receive remasters, the enhancements won\u2019t prove quite as extensive. Supposedly, Nintendo has no plans to launch re-releases for the two this year. Grubb posits that the scattered rollouts for the three remastered projects could constitute a way for Nintendo to slowly ramp up to the eventual launch of Metroid Prime 4. Developer Retro Studios and Nintendo shipped the original Metroid Prime for GameCube in November 2002, offering an adventure set between the events of Metroid and Metroid 2.
