Atlus\u2019 Persona franchise broke into the mainstream with Persona 5 in 2017, and its newfound popularity piqued the interest of many potential fans. However, not everybody could get hands-on with the game as the series had always been a Sony exclusive. Fortunately, starting in October 2022, three entries in the Persona franchise \u2013 Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable \u2013 are being released on new platforms. Xbox and Nintendo Switch owners will soon get to experience the beloved games. Here\u2019s everything we know about the releases so far. Contents Do the Persona games have a release date for Xbox and Nintendo Switch? Persona 5 Royal will launch worldwide for all platforms on October 21, 2022. Person 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable\u2019s release dates have finally been confirmed by Atlus. In an October tweet, they revealed that both will release on \u201cmodern platforms\u201d on January 19, 2023. Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable will all be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X\/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. During the Xbox Showcase 2022, it was also revealed that all three games would be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Persona Xbox & Nintendo Switch trailers A couple of trailers have been released so far that detail various gameplay and cinematic footage from all three Persona games. From the brief snippets shown, the gameplay looks to be remastered for modern hardware, running at a solid 60 FPS. Something that Persona 4 Golden achieved with its Steam release in 2020, and that Persona 3 Portable hasn\u2019t had before. Check out both trailers below. Persona Series on Xbox \u2013 Announce Trailer Persona Series \u2013 Announce Trailer Persona Xbox & Nintendo Switch gameplay features The Persona games are turn-based JRPGs that feature a four-party battle system. Each character wields a Persona \u2013 a physical manifestation of a person\u2019s psyche \u2013 that can be utilized in combat to unleash unique attacks and magical abilities. Alongside their Persona, party members can deal damage with basic physical attacks and use items. The protagonist is able to recruit various Personas throughout the games, each with their own skillset, and Personas can also be fused together resulting in powerful combinations. The gameplay is typically split between dungeon crawling \u2013 where players will battle various enemies, including shadows and demons \u2013 and free-roaming segments. During the time outside of dungeons, you can explore the city, and increase your social links with other characters, including but not limited to your party members. Story The majority of games in the Persona franchise take place in modern Japan and focus on a group of high-school students \u2013 who are often tasked with unraveling a mystery and solving a dilemma related to another world \u2013 in Persona 5 its the \u2018Metaverse\u2019 \/ in Persona 4, \u2018The midnight Channel\u2019 \u2013 that\u2019s affecting the real one. After the Nintendo Switch ports were revealed, Atlus released an official summary of all three games, where they stated: \u201cSave others from distorted desires by donning the mask of a Phantom Thief in the critically acclaimed, genre-defining story of Persona 5 Royal, with previously released downloadable content included. Plus, there\u2019s an urban legend that your soulmate might appear if you stare into a Nintendo Switch console on a rainy night in Persona 4 Golden.
