Skibidi Toilet allegedly hits Garry\u2019s Mod with DMCA strike for copyright infringement YouTube: DaFuqBoomThe creator of Garry\u2019s Mod revealed \u2018DaFuq!?Boom!\u2019, the maker of Skibidi Toilet, allegedly hit the game with a DMCA strike over copyright infringement. But is the claim legitimate? Earlier in 2024, Garry\u2019s Mod was hit with a takedown notice from Nintendo. This resulted in the game\u2019s creator, Garry Newman, announcing that they would be removing any Nintendo-related workshop items uploaded over the past 18 years. Now, Garry\u2019s Mod has allegedly been served yet another DMCA notice, this time from who Newman claimed was Skibidi Toilet\u2019s creator, as they argued against unauthorized use of copyrighted assets. The takedown notice outlined that the Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, Titan TV Man, and Skibidi Toilet are all registered copyrights and that \u201csignificant revenue\u201d has been generated due to their unauthorized usage. The notice stated that the assets were being used to \u201cadvertise\u201d Garry\u2019s Mod games, and that \u201cthere is absolutely no licensed Steam, Valve, Garry\u2019s Mod content related to Skibidi Toilet\u201d. The DMCA claim was first publicly revealed by Garry Newman on Garry\u2019s Mod s&box Discord server, where he broke the news via a screenshot of the notice. \u201cYou know what\u2019s worse than the Nintendo DMCA?\u201d Newman asked in the Discord chat. \u201cSkibidi Toilet guys sent a DMCA too. Serious. Can you believe the cheek?\u201d In Newman\u2019s screenshot, we can see there is a Registration Number for the assets. A search of the number shows all four of the content assets have been claimed by Invisible Narrative LLC. Since Newman posted the screenshot, he hasn\u2019t addressed the claim any further and hasn\u2019t discussed the DMCA strike anywhere else. Hours after Newman publically announced the takedown, a Discord profile appearing to be DaFuq!?Boom! came into the s&box Discord server. This account claimed the Skibidi Toilet creator did not issue a DMCA strike whatsoever. \u201cIs there a way to contact Garry? I did NOT strike Garry\u2019s Mode and I\u2019m trying to understand what else is written in the letter!\u201d the account stressed. It\u2019s worth noting, while we\u2019re yet to fully verify the Discord account\u2019s legitimacy, this is the very same account sharing announcements in the verified DaFuq!?Boom! Discord server, pictured below. In a statement to IGN hours after the news broke, Newman would clarify that the DMCA was sent late last year. \u201cDaFuq has been in touch, all resolved,\u201d he said of the matter.
