Kishimoto said that Sonic Frontiers\u2019 story will have a more serious tone, saying the team \u201cneeded something dramatic\u201d to set the stage and \u201cforeshadow things to ponder\u201d while playing. While this may bring up memories of Sonic \u201906, Sonic Team seems aware of the poor reception to that game\u2019s narrative, even confirming Sonic won\u2019t share another human kiss, according to an interview from Axios relayed by IGN. As for the story itself, apparently, Sonic, Tails, and Amy will arrive on a mysterious island after following readings from the Chaos Emeralds.
