Here is why gamers are begging Japanese developer Atlus to remake the 2006 released JRPG. Persona 3 originally released on Sony\u2019s PlayStation 2 back in 2006. The popular games are a spin-off series of the Shin Megami Tensei JRPG titles in Japan, with more of an emphasis on character relationships called social links. The franchise has exploded in popularity in recent years, with Persona 5 releasing in 2016 to wide critical acclaim. Because of the series\u2019 newfound popularity, fans are now asking developer Atlus to turn to the past and bring back the third title. Why Persona 3 Remake is trending on Twitter On January 31 #Persona3Remake began trending on Twitter, as fans of the series started to plead with the Japanese devs to remake the PS2-era title with the latest engine developed for Persona 5. The entire tweet frenzy was kicked off by a post by user named \u2018stayketchy\u2019 who cleverly posted a screenshot from the game. In it, character Ryoji Mochizuki states the date \u201cJanuary 31st, 2020.\u201d Along with the photo, the fan wrote, \u201cTHIS IS THE ONLY DAY YOU CAN RT THIS #Persona3Remake,\u201d which sparked others to retweet the account at a rapid pace. At the time of this article, the tweet has 7.4k likes and 6.2k retweets. https:\/\/twitter.com\/stayketchy\/status\/1223274363157434370 Fans of the series then began to use the trending movement to show the Japanese developer that there is a great demand for a re-imagined version of the Sony released title. Users also shared their own ideas for a potential remake, such as \u2018Female_Ren\u2019 who exclaimed \u201cI\u2019d LOVE to see a remake of Persona 3! Imagine how amazing it would be to add party control, the female protagonist route, and fast travel to the game.\u201d https:\/\/twitter.com\/Female_Ren\/status\/1223267264696397824 Posting a picture of Persona 5\u2019s DLC skins which turns players into 3\u2019s cast, \u2018JohnnyLockson\u2019 said, \u201cSo #Persona3Remake is trending?! I would be so hype for a remake! Give me what I want Atlus!\u201d The tweet got 970 likes at time of writing, proving fans want the game with the updated engine. This wouldn\u2019t be the first time that Atlus has done a re-release for the beloved franchise \u2013 in 2012, Persona 4 got an improved version on Sony\u2019s handheld console PS Vita. It included major overhauls and was packed with added features.
