Usually labeled \u2018mystery pack\u2019 or \u2018mystery cube,\u2019 they rose in popularity in 2020 after the likes of Logan Paul and others catapulted the TCG\u2019s popularity. But how good are they? YouTuber PokeRev has uploaded a video showing just what you can pull from these mystery packs, and the results aren\u2019t exactly positive. YouTuber PokeRev blasts \u201cdeceptive\u201d Pokemon card packs Throughout the shelves of Target, Walgreens, Walmart, and more, Pokemon cards are almost entirely stocked by a distributor by the name of M.J. Holdings. The distributor collects random cards and packages them in these \u2018mystery\u2019 packs, so PokeRev decided to buy 20 of them to see just how much they\u2019re worth. After getting about 15 packs in and only having two decent pulls from the packs, he said: \u201cPretty much at the point of saying don\u2019t buy these\u2026 I\u2019ll give this a rating\u2026 I\u2019ll [open all 20 packs] but I don\u2019t see anything happening, at all. \u201cScammy, very scammy.\u201d \u201cIt would be one thing if there were a possibility of getting a [vintage] pack [or] if they were transparent about what you could get, but they\u2019re not,\u201d he added. \u201cEverything about this to me screams avoid at all costs.\u201d Needless to say, PokeRev strongly believes that you\u2019re better off shying away from buying these \u2018mystery packs,\u2019 as the odds of finding anything that exceeds the value of the pack itself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
