Grand Theft Auto leaker claims GTA 6 is actually \u201chalfway done\u201d Rockstar GamesA renowned Grand Theft Auto leaker has claimed that GTA 6 could actually be much closer than previous reports suggest \u2013 saying that they\u2019ve heard that the game is \u201chalfway done.\u201d Rumors have been rife for months now around GTA 6 \u2013 where it will be based, the characters that might be involved and how far along in development the game actually is. On April 14, it was reported in a number of emails and interviews from Rockstar employees that GTA 6 is currently in \u201cearly development,\u201d but some have doubted this. Tez2, a well-known and reliable GTA leaker, has questioned the reports and suggestions that the game is still in \u201cearly development.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe that when I\u2019m hearing it\u2019s \u201chalfway done\u201d or even beyond that,\u201d he said in a tweet on April 16. He then compared it to Rockstar\u2019s other uber-popular title, Red Dead Redemption, saying that the second installment in the series took 7 or 8 years and that main production started as soon as RDR1 was complete \u2013 adding that we should \u201cexpect the same with the next title.\u201d Take note that RDR2 took approximately 8 or 7 years worth of development, main production started right after RDR1 release & recording sessions began in 2013 Expect the same with the next title, unless it’s “”early”” as in we are nowhere near release which is more believable.\u2014 Tez2 (@TezFunz2) April 16, 2020 Tez2\u2019s final point was that maybe by \u201cearly\u201d they mean it\u2019s still nowhere close to being released, which is apparently \u201cmuch more believable.\u201d Recent rumors suggest the new game could be available in \u201clate 2020 or early 2021,\u201d while other financial projections expect a release date of 2021-22 \u2013 meaning we could still be two or more years away from getting our hands on Rockstar\u2019s next effort.
