Rockstar Games took realism to new levels with Red Dead Redemption 2, and fans are expecting much of the same when GTA VI launches in 2025. We’ve already seen some clues from leaked gameplay that the next Grand Theft Auto will incorporate some new, more realistic features, such as limiting how many weapons you can carry on you at a time and vehicle customization details. However, when it comes to driving, players seem to have unanimously agreed that Mafia’s feature where users can fill up their fuel tanks at gas stations is just too much and want Rockstar to skip out on it. Players rally against needing to refuel their cars in GTA 6 In a post on X, GTA 6 fan account ‘TheGTAVerse’ posted about how they believe Rockstar should add a car refueling system from Mafia to add “realism” to police chases. “Imagine situations like pulling over and surrendering during chases while the fuel runs out,” they said. “While it’s not ideal for Online mode, it enhances the single-player experience. Thoughts?” Users in the comments were instantly put off by the idea. Needing to refuel one’s car is already tedious in real life, not to mention expensive, and for many, this just wouldn’t be fun. “It’s not a simulator man… Running away from wanted level just to run out of gas?” one remarked. “I have to disagree, there’s a point where too much realism will become a hassle. If you’re on a cop chase and you steal a car with low fuel, it will be a hassle,” another hypothesized I have to disagree, there’s a point where too much realism will become a hassle.
