It’s from an Australian ABC show called ‘Content’, a seven-part web-series intended to show the “dangerous road to internet fame”. In the episode, the pink-haired girl, Lucy, played by Charlotte Nicado, is a social media hopeful, who aims to grow her accounts on platforms like Instagram. She becomes famous for all the wrong reasons though when she livestreams herself flipping her car in an ‘accident’, for the world to see. The entire show is intended to be viewed on your phone, vertically, as most young viewers will do, as the creator’s target audience. In fact, the idea of having this clip go viral was very deliberate, claims the show’s co-director Daley Pearson. Speaking to news.com.au, Pearson explained: “It was a million-dollar marketing strategy. “But we only spent $60 of that on a prepaid mobile voucher. To sum it up, “We’re desperately trying to promote our show about a character desperately trying to go viral by desperately trying to make their show go viral.” The irony is perfect. 400As for how they made the stunt look so real, the crew behind Content planned out an alaborate stunt designed to make the accident look as real as possible. During her drunken journey, Obdulia Sanchez killed her 14-year-old sister and was sentenced to six years and four months in prison. Responsibility also falls with the platforms themselves to advise users not to stream while driving, or, as in the example of Twitch, ban users who do so. Friend tries VR for the first time and accidentally drops a virtual grenade, creating a real panic run for her life.” The video prompted some commenters to ask about possible damage to the VR headset, thanks to the loud “crunch” that resounded throughout the living room after the player collided with the fireplace wall. Ricardo appeared to admit that the gear had taken some dings, answering, “Well, lets just say we’re glad we got the extended warranty,” in response to the questioning. So, when TikToker Shelbyywilfong asked her boyfriend, their subsequent failed attempt at the test was probably destined to go viral. Gina accuses Katkwo of blackmail One of the screenshots shared an interaction between Katkwo and another cosplayer, where the individual rejected Katkwo’s sexual advance. “I’m conveying to you that it is rather difficult and you are very attractive, but I have to say no to you touching my crotch unless my significant other says yes,” the anonymous person told Katkwo. “I don’t care about your significant other,” Katko replied. Many other incidents were shared, exposing Katko’s potentially predatory behavior. The cosplayer has been called out for threatening ostracization from the scene on multiple occasions. Gina shared a message she received from another anonymous source: “I feel like if I turn her down, I’m losing a bunch of connections,” the message read. The duo were warbling to the public in the middle of a shopping center, jauntily singing songs into a microphone for all to hear. Unfortunately, they were too preoccupied with their musical performance to pay much attention to the guitar that sat in an open case just behind them. During their livestream, viewers could clearly see a passerby grab the guitar and walk away as smoothly as if it had belonged to him. The two streamers had no inclination that the theft had even happened and continued to wail into the microphone… until one of the broadcasters finally noticed the missing guitar some time later. However, rather than freaking out over the expensive instrument suddenly going missing, the duo laughed in shock before one of the streamers announced that they were missing their guitar into the microphone in case anyone nearby knew what had happened. It’s safe to say that commenters across the net were left slack-jawed at what had just happened, as well as the streamers’ nonchalant response to the theft. This is far from the first time a streamer has caught a theft happening in real time; in 2019, broadcaster Giannie Lee filmed a pickpocket nabbing someone’s wallet, who ended up “returning” the article after realizing he’d been caught in 4K. Luckily, according to an Instagram post from the German streamers, the thief was caught and their guitar returned, resulting in a pleasant end to an otherwise unpleasant situation, marking yet another chapter in the ongoing annals of Twitch’s top shocking moments.

Most recently, Sebastian has been streaming in Paris and documenting his travels and various experiences throughout the city. However, he ran into trouble on July 9 after accidentally filming two men walking by who seemingly did not want to appear on camera. The streamer was sitting on a sidewalk in the famous city of love when he turned the camera toward the street he was facing. Laughing with the chat, Sebastian could be heard jokingly saying “I hate you all so much” to his viewers. In a stroke of bad luck, two men walking by at the same time seemingly assumed the camera was focused on them. Sebastian explained he was live streaming, resulting in one of the men charging toward him before the camera cut to black. When the stream returned, Sebastian was running and repeatedly calling “it’s deleted” over his shoulder. He told viewers, “The dude back there just came after me.” “Really bad timing on that one. Was randomly laughing and moved the camera to the person walking by,” one person commented on Reddit about the altercation. “If I was a paranoid weirdo I would have thought they were filming me and laughing which is what seemed to set the guy off.” Others labeled the incident as a cultural issue, claiming this was common in Paris. One said, “They really do be hating tourists, huh?” Another commented, “What the f*** is up with Paris? Georgia has been building her 785,000-strong YouTube fanbase since 2013, and has seen the ins and outs of the website in the past seven years. Most recently, the Aussie star was nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. As the Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony — to be held on March 22 — looms on the horizon, the 20-year-old creator admitted she believes YouTube, and the whole video online domain too, is well on its way to overtaking TV as we know it. According to the Australian YouTuber, who spoke to the Newcastle Herald after she was nominated for the award, the fact kids today can pick up a phone or tablet and load up a video in seconds is where YouTube has the edge over mainstream TV. “Kids can very easily access online content. They can choose exactly what they want to watch, and when they want to watch it. They don’t have to wait a certain amount of time for it to come on TV,” she explained. Modern times have also played a role in the change from television addiction, to YouTube’s mainstream popularity burst. “Attention spans are getting smaller and smaller,” she added. “One day we are all going to be like goldfish.” As well as that, she continued, the YouTube medium is unique compared to television in it feels like you’re sharing the video experiences with your favorite content creators, rather than just watching through a window into their lives. “People feel a lot closer to YouTubers because they tend to share a lot about themselves — there’s not much of a wall or a filter,” she said, though ironically the Australian star has yet to reveal her last name to her hordes of fans. Funnily enough, though, the mega-popular Aussie streamer nearly didn’t start her career on YouTube at all, after her parents told her “no,” when she said she was going to start making videos, aged 13. Eventually, however, a persistent Georgia “wore them down,” and the rest is history. From her humble start, the 20-year-old is now well on her way to a huge million-subscriber milestone — only 165 Australians have hit that mark before. As TikTok has continued to grow and grow worldwide, a whole host of different content creators have started to use it as a way to expand their reach. In the case of Minecraft star GeorgeNotFound, he hasn’t had the best of times on TikTok. His account was struck down and banned for a period back in February, prompting fans to start the #FreeGeorge trend in a bid to bring him back. While he has been able to do so, his return to TikTok hasn’t been without headaches as he has, yet again, been banned. Though, this time, he’s got a few words for the video-sharing platform. The YouTuber was banned once again come February 24, for reasons he hasn’t yet disclosed, but he did bring a pointed message with him about leaving the app for good. “Stop banning me @TikTok_US or I’m moving to YouTube shorts,” George tweeted off his backup account. Though, some fans questioned why the US TikTok account would be his port of call, given he’s UK-based. The new ban comes less than two weeks after his last one, where he also had a pretty comedic post. “I am not a minor, restore my TikTok immediately or else,” he tweeted back on August 13. However, all streamers will now be competing to beat the record for the most viewers of their future cooking streams thanks to the work of YouTuber GeorgeNotFound. GeorgeNotFound sets record for cooking streams GeorgeNotFound is well-known for his Minecraft streams. Although, he’s also entertained fans with his wild and, at the time, chaotic baking streams. One particular food-fuelled stream became so popular that George set the record for the most viewers for cooking livestream on Twitch, reaching 319, 846 concurrent viewers. It all comes after he was nominated for the accolade by YouTuber Jack Massey Welsh who shared how the event came to be on his YouTube channel. According to Welsh, George first approached asking him to send off a nomination for him after supposedly breaking the record for the highest number of hot tub livestream views. However, the application was denied by Guinness as it was deemed that the small inflatable pool George used was technically not a hot tub. So, the duo compiled evidence and statistics which would make George the record holder for the highest concurrent viewers during his cooking stream ‘George Learns To Cook…‘ from March 20, 2021. The application was a success and George received his framed certificate proclaiming that he was an official world record holder. As a further sweetener, Welsh also gifted him a trophy for the ‘Most Watched Hot Tub Stream.’

Whether it’s the disk saga between TommyInnit and Dream, or the resurrection of Wilbur in the latest era, there’s always something entertaining going on in the Dream SMP. However, the antics between the server members are not just limited to the game, as GeorgeNotFound demonstrated on-stream. George decided to call Tommy and prank him by saying he’d been banned from the Dream SMP, but it didn’t exactly go to plan. GeorgeNotFound’s prank on TommyInnit doesn’t go to plan During his stream on June 1, George decided to call Tommy and play a prank on him for his viewers. The plan was to speak to Tommy and tell him that Dream was planning on kicking him from the Dream SMP for not creating enough lore. However, after getting onto the call with Tommy and breaking the news, it all got a little serious. George maintained a stern tone throughout the whole conversation and even forgot to tell Tommy it was a joke before the call ended. “You know how you haven’t been streaming much on the SMP? Dream thinks the lore hasn’t been up to standards… basically, you’re gonna have to start upping the lore or we’re gonna un-whitelist you.” It was obvious from Tommy’s reaction that he was confused about what was going on and it wasn’t until afterward that George realized he may have taken it a little too far. For those out of the loop, IMPAULSIVE is Logan Paul’s very own podcast, which he first started back in 2018. Since then, it’s seen a slew of celebrity guests and has become one of the most prominent influencer talk shows of its kind. Up until recently, it was helmed by BFFS Mike Majlak, George Janko, and of course, Logan himself. However, the pod has run into a bit of drama lately. Starting in December 2022, a spat broke out between its co-hosts when Logan Paul made critical comments about Christianity, leading to a heated disagreement with George Janko, who is a Christian. (Topic begins at 12:18) Since then, the group has been on the outs, with Janko notably stepping away from the show in January 2023 to create his own podcast. There has been no shortage of shade between the three buddies in the months afterward, with Janko calling the situation a “toxic environment.” Now, it looks like things are getting even more personal. Several eagle-eyed fans on Reddit claim that George’s name is being blacklisted from the IMPAULSIVE channel’s YouTube comments, adding even more fuel to the fire. During the beginning of the drama, new IMPAULSIVE episodes boasted a slew of comments begging them to squash the beef with George and bring him back on the show. The player is then awarded points based on how close their guess was to the actual location, and there are ranked leaderboards where avid GeoGuessr fans can compete with other players to be the top Guessr. However, the creators of GeoGuessr decided that they wanted to take the competitive aspect of GeoGuessr a step further, and hosted the first-ever World Cup which they streamed on Twitch. GeoGuessr World Cup had Twitch viewers hyped After GeoGuessr hosted preliminary qualifier tournaments, they had their playoff groups set for the World Cup event which took place from October, 14-15 and hit a peak of 58k viewers on Twitch. The finals were contested between Netherlands’s Consus and France’s Blinky, after the two made it through some tough previous matches. The final was close between the two Geussrs, coming down to the wire until Consus finally put the nail in the coffin to seal his win, taking home the World Cup victory. After a man went viral showing off a bagel shop local to him but ‘gatekept’ the location, Geoguessr professional GeoRainbolt took matters into his own hands and exposed it — but he didn’t stop there. Viral TikTok exposes ‘gatekept’ bagel shop Noted as the “greatest sandwich” he’s ever had, the original TikToker refused to give out the location to viewers. Rainbolt, however, decided that the OP wasn’t going to gatekeep the bagel restaurant and took matters into his own hands. “I will. It’s an egg cheese and avocado bagel from Bagel Market on 168 William Street,” he said before revealing how far he walked to the location and what table he sat at. One of the characters tried to hit on her, but that didn’t go down very well. The popular personality, who has over 1.7 million followers on her channel, is well-known for her dance streams and IRL content. Those who have watched her online will know she regularly appears at the very top of the Just Chatting section. Though, she doesn’t tend to limit herself to just in-real life broadcasts. On October 17, she showed that again by diving into miHoYo’s Genshin Impact, which some people have claimed to have spent thousands of dollars on since its September 2020 release. One even called spending $5,000 on cosmetics a regretful “learning experience.” Now, we can’t say Amouranth shared the same regrets playing it, however. Amouranth on Genshin Impact During her stream, it looked like she really enjoyed trying something different, but it really was the role-playing side of the title that appeared to hook her in to keep playing. In one scene, she enjoyed a bit of back and forth with the NPCs – as seen below. It asks her: “Are you a hilichurl with some reasonable level of intelligence?” to which she replies no, and it says: “No, I doubt it. After all, hilichurls aren’t exactly known for their smarts.” Soon after, she fired back “I’ll be your apprentice,” clearly focusing on the task in hand. Genshin Impact character hits on Amouranth Now, that clip was just an example of how interactive it made her stream, but maybe the best moment was this one. A brutal shutdown. It didn’t take long for her to work out what Kaeya was trying to do after a short exchange with the character, giving him the knock-back quickly after he tried to hit on her in-game. “Please do visit me at our headquarters when you have the time,” he said as she was about to leave, followed by: “I also know a lovely tavern, if that’s more your thing.” After that, she quickly decided he was a “f**k boy” and joked all men are the same. Not quite the result Kaeya would have been after, but there you go. Fans will be hoping for even more of these cool moments in Genshin Impact, because after this stint on the game, she’s surely going to jump back on to the viral trend again soon enough.

Bizarrely, dozen of these kinds of parodies have popped up, but one of the most popular is by musician Sarah Hester Ross. In a since-deleted TikTok, she can be seen composing a song on the keyboard, which includes lyrics like “Hey Gen Z you can suck it, you can’t tell me what to wear.” Another popular TikTok response aiming to put the Gen Z-ers in their place was by user Brandy Coble. However, with Hololive JP stars occasionally jumping on Twitch like Usada Pekora (with 158,000 followers on Amazon’s platform) to broaden their content base with things like reaction content, the group’s English stars could follow in their footsteps. “‘How about a Twitch channel for [reaction content]?’ Some of the Hololive JP members stream on Twitch, they do watchalongs and stuff. I think it’s only a couple at a time,” Gura said on stream. “Nobody from EN has done that yet so I wonder if that’s something they’re going to want to do this year.” There aren’t any formal plans for Gura to stream on Twitch. In fact, the VTuber had her reservations about moving from her YouTube home onto the Amazon-owned platform. She didn’t rule out the possibility though, even if it’s just for one stream. Idaho National Laboratory (INL), one of the largest nuclear labs in the United States, has confirmed they were hacked by SiegedSec — a group of self-described “gay furry hackers.” “On Monday, Nov. 20, Idaho National Laboratory determined that it was the target of a cybersecurity data breach in a federally approved vendor system outside the lab that supports INL cloud Human Resources services,” INL said in a statement to Engadget. With the company taking “immediate action” to protect thousands of records of user and employee data, SiegedSec revealed their bizarre demands in exchange for keeping the stolen data private. Claiming to have access to employees and users’ full names, birthdates, home addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, and “lots lots more,” SiegedSec revealed their desired ransom wasn’t conventional money. “We’re willing to make a deal with INL,” SiegedSec wrote in their announcement of the breach. “If they research creating IRL catgirls we will take down this post.” While their request for INL to bring real-life catgirls into the world might not be all too serious, the fantastical and unrealistic request is unlikely to offer any relief for the thousands at risk of having their personal information doxed. Offering some insight into why SiegedSec targeted INL, the group tweeted, “We are cats, intricacies such as “why” do not concern us.” “Seriously?? You hack a lab that’s trying to combat climate change and you’re only explanation as to WHY is, “I’m a cat”? Are you 12?” one user responded. However, this changed once price tags were revealed with the watch and jacket costing $230 each, the backpack priced at $190, and even the acrylic stand being $25. All of those prices are before tax and shipping too so additional fees will be added on. Having mixed opinions on the merchandise, one fan posted on the Hololive subreddit, “New Gura merch Collab probably had one of the drippiest designs I’ve seen on a merch,” before questioning, “That watch is cold as hell man why is it so expensive?” Others echoed similar viewpoints replying, “The designs are definitely lit, but at the same time they aren’t fooling around with their price tag either.” Another fan responded, “That’s a skip for me. With his stream not working, he tried to connect with fans on the social media platform — only to be muted for the first 25 minutes after opening it. Gaming chair brand under fire for bad photoshop of DrLupo Popular gaming retailer Newegg have been criticized after an image attached to a gaming chair on their website appeared to use a doctored photo of Twitch streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo. DrLupo is one of the biggest stars on Twitch, piggy-backing the success of Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale. He is known for his frequent collaborations with other streaming powerhouses, such as Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins. Lupo currently sits at over 3.6 million followers on Twitch, and is well known for his signature setup, involving a retro gaming headset. However, on November 30, one Twitter user noticed that Newegg may be doctoring one of his images without permission, and using it to sell chairs. Its_TyK, an editor for esports organization Team Secret, explained that he was “casually scrolling on Newegg and I stumble across a gaming chair and they faked a Dr Lupo picture for their product.” Attached was a photo of DrLupo while streaming, showing his gaming chair, monitors and headset. Others merely suggested the company saw potential in the image. It is not clear whether the image belonged to Newegg or was supplied by the sellers of the chair itself. To be officially diagnosed with “gaming disorder,” a patient must exhibit three symptoms: an inability to control gaming behavior (whether it be the duration, intensity, or frequency of play time, etc.) – placing an “increased priority” on gaming that takes precedence over other activities in life – an increased escalation of gaming despite negative consequences – The WHO state that, to be diagnosed with the disorder, “The pattern of gaming behavior may be continuous or episodic and recurrent,” and requires a 12 month period to assign an official diagnosis – that is, unless symptoms are “severe” enough to warrant a more prompt classification. While buyers can purchase NFTs minted on the platform, GameStop NFT Marketplace can’t be used to trade tokens that originated off-platform. This makes GameStop NFT a closed ecosystem of buyers and creators, but the pool of creators is much smaller than platforms like OpenSea. Artists have to apply to become a creator for GameStop, and can only sell their work if accepted. Amid a crypto crash, GameStop NFT has also faced issues with creators violating their terms of service resulting in numerous suspensions. And now, the platform is under fire for hosting an NFT that looks near identical to a photo taken on 9/11 of a man jumping to his death. The token – titled ‘Falling Man‘ – was created by GameStop NFT creator Jules as a part of the Astronaut collection. With many deciding to try and launch their own career with fresh TikTok pranks, and others just use the platform to post clips from places like YouTube and Twitter. Well, in the case of Seth Meiring, he does both, and one of his recent pranks landed a GameStop employee – dawesometk – in hot water with the company. So much so, that the man was actually fired from GameStop. TikToker’s prank gets GameStop employee fired That’s right, in Meiring’s now-deleted clip, he was in a GameStop trying to pull off one of his typical pranks – selling a fake game to the store. While his previous attempts have included things like Gregcraft – a spin on Minecraft – this one was called “Cousin Kisser: The Game.” Whilst inside the store, the TikToker had an interaction with another customer, a woman, who didn’t take kindly to him filming in the store. She stood in front of the camera at one point before they got into a bit of an argument. As the woman exited the store, Seth remarked to the former GameStop employee in question that she had to be a “cousin kisser” herself. He laughed at that and the whole situation ultimately cost him his job with the company. The TikToker has since set up a GoFundMe to help the former GameStop worker but, as of writing, has raised $774 of the $1000 goal. That obviously isn’t even close to a monthly salary. Plenty of viewers have expressed their dismay about the amount trying to be raised too. “literally you owe this man at least 2 months pay,” said one. “1k is less than one month rent, that’s actually crazy,” added another. This apparently includes GameStop, who have announced a new TikTok dance challenge for employees. Basically, workers have to record a video, then the submissions will be voted on by other staff members, with the winner taking home a number of winnings. Rewards include an Amazon Echo 8, Echo Auto, and a $100 VISA gift card – pretty standard contest fare. It’s not uncommon to see violence and theft at retail stores in 2023, but a recent incident at a Florida GameStop shows why sometimes it’s better when employees just don’t get involved. On October 17, an employee at a Pembroke Pines GameStop in Miami took matters into his own hands after a brutal altercation with a customer attempting to shoplift Pokemon cards became fatal. According to Pembroke Pines Police, at 8:16 on Tuesday, 33-year-old Derrick Guerrero confronted a man he observed shoplifting, resulting in the customer running to the store’s entrance with stolen merchandise. GameStop employee accused of shooting shoplifting Florida man As the shoplifter headed to the exit, Guerrero pulled a concealed firearm from his waistband and fired a single shot, hitting the man in the torso. It’s not clear why the GameStop employee felt inclined to shoot the customer or if the two knew each other prior to the incident. The shoplifter, who police note never threatened Guerrero or displayed a weapon of his own, was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries where he died. “Our officers have taken 33-year-old Derrick Guerrero into custody for Manslaughter when it was determined that he shot the adult male victim after observing him shoplifting from the business,” Pembroke Pines Police said. This isn’t the first time that a theft like this has resulted in a fatal shooting. Back in 2022, men accused of stealing pizza and Pokemon cards from a Florida Target were shot at by police with one of them dying.

In a wild TikTok, the user, who appears to go by Brandon, shared an email from his boss explaining that he had been terminated from a company. “So I got fired from my job today,” he said. “Don’t add random people on Xbox, because apparently bosses do that now and I work from home, I play Xbox, you know what I mean?” TikTokers accuse Xbox firing of being fake In a follow-up video, the user claimed that he had no idea what his boss’s gamer tag is, but segued into it being “all good” because he was hiring a career coach to help him find a new job soon and advertised a placement site. Amusingly, as other TikTokers pointed out, both videos were uploaded to an account called ‘placementco’ and accused the clips of being fake. “When you realize this is a really clever ad for this company,” one wrote, prompting ‘placementco’ to reply, “What you mean? I don’t even work for Placement.” “You got fired because bosses friend people on Xbox now?” another asked. “Bruh I had 14 kills in a Fortnite solo match when I got the email…. The duo will be taking on an adaptation of another set of novels this time, jumping into the realm of science fiction. The $200m deal with Netflix is finally gaining momentum; here’s what we know about their first creation for the streaming juggernaut. Together, Benioff and Weiss will be harnessing their efforts to create a new live-action series. Their upcoming project will be based around Hugo award-winning ‘The Three-Body Problem’ from Chinese author Liu Cixin. The sci-fi novel begins in the 1960s but jumps through many points in time to deal with an “extinction-level threat” to humanity. “Liu Cixin’s trilogy is the most ambitious science-fiction series we’ve read,” the former Game of Thrones showrunners said. “We look forward to spending the next years of our lives bringing this to life for audiences around the world.” First published in 2006, The Three-Body Problem is part one of a hugely-popular sci-fi trilogy. The string of releases reached their conclusion in 2010 with ‘Death’s End.’ Benioff and Weiss are set to adapt all three novels. Cixin and the English translator for the series, Ken Liu, will both be serving as consulting producers for the Netflix adaptation. “It is a great honor as an author to see this unique sci-fi concept travel and gain fandom across the globe,” Cixin said. “I am excited for new and existing fans all over the world to discover the story.” There’s no telling just how far off we are from our first glimpse of the adaptation. The deal has only just been finalized, with pre-production still a ways off. Therefore, it could be a few years until fans are treated to the first footage from the upcoming project. Coming straight from Game of Thrones to a sprawling sci-fi trilogy with $200m behind them, it’s safe to assume expectations will be off the charts. The show tells the true story of President James Garfield, and his relationship with the man who would become his assassin, Charles Guiteau. According to Netflix, the series “brings to life the epic and stranger-than-fiction true story of James Garfield, reluctant 20th president of the United States, and his greatest admirer Charles Guiteau — the man who would come to kill him.” Succession’s Matthew Macfayden is set to star as admirer-turned-assassin, Charles Guiteau. While Michael Shannon will play President Garfield. Screenwriter, Mike Makowsky serves as both creator and writer on Death by Lightning. Makowsky is best known for best known for the hit crime dramedy, Bad Education, starring Hugh Jackman and Ray Romano. The series will be directed by Matt Ross, whose previous work on Captain Fantastic has been widely praised too. While a period piece set in the twentieth century marks a big shift from fantasy and sci-fi, the story of James Garfield is certainly equal parts strange and impressive. However Weiss and Benioff approach this piece of history, it’s sure to be compelling TV.

Game Critic TotalBiscuit Retires Following Unsuccessful Cancer Treatment One of the gaming industry’s longest serving members has made the decision to step away from game criticism after his cancer treatment proved to be unsuccessful. John ‘TotalBiscuit’ Bain has been one of the most recognizable personalities in the gaming community for a number of years but ongoing health issues have made him decide to step away from his role in the spotlight. The 46 year old was diagnosed with cancer back in 2014 and has been fighting it ever since but he announced in a recent update that his oncologist has told him that his body has now become “resistant to all forms” of chemotherapy. He went on to explain that his “liver is failing and its effectiveness has lowered past the point where the clinical trials I had been offered would take me on” and that this is causing him chronic pain. TotalBiscuit stated that he is now coming to terms with the fact that he doesn’t have long left and that he now needs to focus on “getting my quality-of-life to as good a standard as possible”. With that said, he has made the decision to retire from his career as a games critic, citing a lack of clear thoughts due to medication and an unreliable schedule making the job too stressful and unsatisfactory compared to previous years. This doesn’t mean that he will disappearing from your screens entirely, though, as he will continue to produce some content on YouTube and Twitch with his wife: “Does that mean I’m done with Youtube and Twitch? Nope, blokes gotta make a living. I have a family to consider and there’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to what I leave them when I go out kicking and screaming. I want to spend the rest of my time with the two things I love the most, my family and my work. I’m transitioning my Youtube and Twitch work over to gameplay with my wife.” His popular podcast, Co-optional, will also be sticking around with a slightly shorter format of around two hours per episode. TotalBiscuit revealed that this is likely to be his last health update “unless some miracle happens or we do indeed find a trial” and asked fans not to speculate about how long he has left. I have made mistakes in the past, and I apologize if my actions or words ever made anyone upset, but those mistakes were never ill-intentioned, exploitative or illegal in any capacity.” The user who posted the Reddit thread to Twitter has since apologized. The thread contains links to several videos and text message conversations between Avidan and a purportedly younger fan. View this post on Instagram The reported victim claimed that she began texting Dan while she was underage, and as she came of age, their conversations began to turn toward a sexual nature. This allegedly led to them meeting up at a Game Grumps live show, where sexual activity purportedly occurred. A few weeks later, the victim claimed that all contact with Avidan ceased completely. This, understandably, led to a slew of outrage and emotional reactions from fans, who took to social media to express their shock and sadness in wake of the shared screenshots and videos. There has been a fair amount of pushback against the accusations though, with some claiming that what happened between Avidan and the alleged victim was not grooming at all. Gambling enters top 10 most-watched Twitch categories as slots overtake Warzone TwitchThe Twitch gambling meta has officially found its way into the top ten most-watched categories on the platform, with even more hours watched than Warzone. Gambling on Twitch has proven to be a controversial topic with many, such as Pokimane, speaking out against top content creators like Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel spending thousands of dollars playing slots. Despite criticism, and even a petition to ban gambling on Twitch, the popularity of the category has only continued to rise and it’s even managed to beat out some of the top streamed games. According to data from Rainmaker.gg, StreamElements’ analytics partner, slots have overtaken the hit battle royale Call of Duty Warzone by a large margin. Slots officially overtake Warzone in Twitch viewership The report states that in May of 2022, viewers watched 39 million hours of slots on Twitch. That’s 6 million more than Warzone which had 33M last month. The gambling category now finds itself as the 9th most-watched category, but still a ways behind 8th place DOTA 2 and Fortnite with 48M and 51M hours watched respectively. At the very top, Just Chatting reigns supreme with 271 million hours watched in the month of May, dwarfing second-place League of Legends by over 100 million. Slots’ success was also in part due to popular streamer Trainwreck who had the most hours watched on the site after he spent nearly 300 hours broadcasting his gambling in May. It will be interesting to see if slots will continue to rise or if upcoming games can dethrone the controversial category and make their way into the top 10 for June.

Gambling streamer Heelmike appeals after indefinite Twitch ban HeelmikeTwitch streamer Heelmike has been indefinitely banned from the platform, with the gambling streamer confirming he has filed an appeal to have the suspension lifted. The 28-year-old has been streaming for years on Amazon-owned platform, and in 2021 his account was follow-botted, from just under 400,000 followers to over 7 million. He was previously known for his Fortnite and Just Chatting dating streams, before more recently streaming a lot of gambling content. However, after months of enforcing its ban on gambling, Twitch has indefinitely banned the former slots streamer. Heelmike indefinitely banned from Twitch According to StreamerBans, Heelmike received his sixth ban from Twitch on December 27. The streamer took to Twitter shortly after, revealing it was in fact an indefinite ban from the platform — though he gave no explanation as to why. “Just got an indefinite Twitch ban today even though I haven’t been live for 4 days because of Christmas,” he wrote. “Sh*t is stressful dam. Hope everything gets resolved and I’ll keep you updated.” In a follow-up tweet a few hours later, the streamer added that he submitted an appeal and was awaiting a response from Twitch. “SUBMITTED MY TWITCH BAN APPEAL. FINGERS CROSSED EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND WE GET UNBANNED! YA BOY WAS ON A ROLL AND IM GENUINELY PRAYING ITS NOT A PERMA BAN. LOVE YALL AND THANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME OVER ALL THESE YEARS.” Although the exact ban reason is unconfirmed, fans were quick to note recent comments from the streamer on his gambling content, boasting he had to “scam little kids for casino deals.” However, many concluded that his comments were unrelated to the indefinite ban, with them being made weeks prior. TikTok’s latest trend is sharing how much you spend on groceries, rent, and other expenses alongside your best friend to compare. It’s usually all fun and games, as the two parties see a $50-100 difference in their overall weekly spending. DeMartino has come under fire for her version of the viral TikTok trend, however, after the popular YouTuber paired up with her friend Alex Byrd on Sep. 20. In their videos, the creators criticized Gabbie for talking about Devins in one of her earlier videos. In her video, she included a picture of Devins while discussing what an ‘E-girl’ was, while the context around Bianca and her murder wasn’t discussed.
