  • Girl goes viral for showing her mom’s obsession with Diet Coke – Dexerto

Girl goes viral for showing her mom’s obsession with Diet Coke TikTok: rowansturgillA girl’s mom has taken her Diet Coke obsession fairly far, as she has memorabilia of all sorts decorated around her house. Soda can be highly addictive, as the amount of sugar causes cravings that worsen over time. Although we’re uncertain just how many Diet Coke’s one TikToker’s mom enjoys on a daily basis, her collection of soda-inspired memorabilia is enough for a whole neighborhood to be decked out in Diet Coke decorations. Since posting a video of her mom’s Diet Coke collection to TikTok, people have commented in awe of just how much her mom loves the beverage. Girl’s mom has a house decorated with everything Diet Coke related A girl named Rowan took to her TikTok last week to expose her mom’s Diet Coke obsession. Rowan captioned her viral video, “This isn’t even half of it, I’m not kidding.” She also added a text overlay, saying, “Oh, you think your mom likes Diet Coke?” As Rowan showed her rather fed-up face in the video, she took her followers on a tour of her mom’s Diet Coke decorations around the house. She first showed a door decoration dedicated to the cola, followed by a soap dispenser with the logo, pictures of the soda on the wall, and even a mini Diet Coke fridge to keep her favorite soda in. The theme continued with bottles lined up atop shelves, picture frames with inspirational Diet Coke quotes, and of course, a coaster to keep her carbonated drink on. Though Rowan limited comment access on her TikTok video, a few people were able to share their opinions, writing, “This is insane.” While others wrote, “The Diet Coke soap will forever get me,” as well as, “The water tastes like it, too.” Rowan hasn’t commented further on how long her mom has been obsessed with Diet Coke. However, it seems as though her collection of decorations has been around for a good amount of time, as she had bottles and cans of the soda in just about every corner of her home.

  • How the ‘Flip Girl’ car crash video tricked the internet – Dexerto

How the ‘Flip Girl’ car crash video tricked the internet YouTube: ABC TV & iviewA clip of a pink-haired Australian woman apparently involved in a severe motor accident while streaming has gone viral, but how did the makers of the elaborate stunt trick people into thinking it was real? Posted to various Twitter accounts on September 4, one of the viral posts has almost 20,000 retweets, racking up over 1.5 million views, entitled “Don’t stream and drive, thot”. Admittedly, the video itself is pretty convincing, with the driver thrown around violently, a window smashing and eventually ending with her upside down, stunned. Don’t stream and drive, thot pic.twitter.com/AUSEJ273u7 — Actually, Jochua… (@ArsonArtist) September 4, 2019 How Flip Girl tricked the internet into thinking streaming crash was real Despite the convincing production, the video is just that – a production. It’s from an Australian ABC show called ‘Content’, a seven-part web-series intended to show the “dangerous road to internet fame”. In the episode, the pink-haired girl, Lucy, played by Charlotte Nicado, is a social media hopeful, who aims to grow her accounts on platforms like Instagram. She becomes famous for all the wrong reasons though when she livestreams herself flipping her car in an ‘accident’, for the world to see. The entire show is intended to be viewed on your phone, vertically, as most young viewers will do, as the creator’s target audience. In fact, the idea of having this clip go viral was very deliberate, claims the show’s co-director Daley Pearson. Speaking to news.com.au, Pearson explained: “It was a million-dollar marketing strategy. “But we only spent $60 of that on a prepaid mobile voucher. To sum it up, “We’re desperately trying to promote our show about a character desperately trying to go viral by desperately trying to make their show go viral.” The irony is perfect. 400As for how they made the stunt look so real, the crew behind Content planned out an alaborate stunt designed to make the accident look as real as possible. Nicado was strapped into a car, surrounded by cameras and crew, with the vehicle then rolled over with her inside it to create the most accurate representation of an accident that they could. The moments in the clip where Lucy is hanging upside-down talking to her stream aren’t special effects or camera trickery, the actress was literally hanging upside down to deliver her lines. Upside down lady bamboozled all of us!! pic.twitter.com/S1Yd3NVgRR — Bash :merperson::skin-tone-4:♂️ (@setrocs929) September 6, 2019 The actress herself even confirmed that she was the one strapped into the car as it flipped, joking with her Twitter followers that “Acting upside down felt like the defining moment of (her) career.” Acting upside down felt like the defining moment of my career https://t.co/UMwGKerKyK — Charlotte Nicdao (@charlottenicdao) September 4, 2019 Driving streams: A real problem There is a real message to be promoted here, too, though. Twitch, one of the world’s most popular live-streaming platforms, has had to introduce strict rules about streaming while driving, after numerous dangerous or potentially dangerous incidents. The platform banned a number of streamers, some who were eating, reading chat and changing music, all while behind the wheel. One particularly startling incident almost saw two pedestrians hit by a streamer driving recklessly. Others have been involved in full-on collisions too. In early 2018, a streamer was hospitalized after failing to notice a massive truck at an intersection. He said he was streaming his car journey to “make it less boring.” A more severe case involved an intoxicated driver who was also livestreaming on Instagram. During her drunken journey, Obdulia Sanchez killed her 14-year-old sister and was sentenced to six years and four months in prison. Responsibility also falls with the platforms themselves to advise users not to stream while driving, or, as in the example of Twitch, ban users who do so. This article was updated at 5:21AM EST on Friday, September 6.

  • Girl has epic fail playing VR game by running straight into a wall – Dexerto

Girl has epic fail playing VR game by running straight into a wall Fortune / ricardogonhin, YouTubeYouTuber ‘ricardogonhin’ uploaded a video on January 3, which showed their friend suffering from a hilarious slip-up in the midst of a VR game. After being outfitted in the appropriate VR attire, ‘ricardogonhin’s’ friend went to pull a grenade from her utility belt in-game, accidentally pulling the pin from the weapon and throwing it. The player attempted to run away from the ensuing explosion out of fear, but ran straight into a brick wall by the fireplace, instead – rather than using the joystick to carry her out of harm’s way. The YouTuber went on to explain the event in the video’s description, writing, “This is why they start you out with Fruit Ninja. Friend tries VR for the first time and accidentally drops a virtual grenade, creating a real panic run for her life.” The video prompted some commenters to ask about possible damage to the VR headset, thanks to the loud “crunch” that resounded throughout the living room after the player collided with the fireplace wall. Ricardo appeared to admit that the gear had taken some dings, answering, “Well, lets just say we’re glad we got the extended warranty,” in response to the questioning. This isn’t the first time a player has had a hilarious fail due to the wonders of virtual reality; plenty of users have gotten a bit too immersed in the experience, falling flat on their faces or getting scared out of their skin in overtly realistic horror games, a la Resident Evil 7.

  • Girl goes super viral as boyfriend fails TikTok’s orange peel test – Dexerto

Girl goes super viral as boyfriend fails TikTok’s orange peel test TikTok: shelbyywilfongA woman has gone massively viral on TikTok and other social media platforms after her boyfriend failed the ‘orange peel test’ and had a bit of an argument with her. Over the last couple of years, TikTok has become the launching point for a number of social media trends. Though, the most popular of these have often revolved around putting your relationship with your family or significant other to the test. The ‘moon phase’ soulmate test was one of the most popular in recent years, as it looked to test the capability between yourself and your partner. However, there is a new one making the rounds and causing a bit of chaos – the orange peel theory. The theory is pretty simple: you suggest to your significant other that you’d like an orange, and you see if they’ll peel it for you to eat it. So, when TikToker Shelbyywilfong asked her boyfriend, their subsequent failed attempt at the test was probably destined to go viral. TikToker goes viral as boyfriend spectacularly fails orange peel test And, well, go viral it did – to the tune of 13.4 million views on TikTok and a further 7 million views on Twitter/X, in fact. In the almost two-minute-long clip, Shelby suggests to her boyfriend that she’d like an orange, but he doesn’t fail off the bat. He throws her an orange and suggests that she should peel it herself. “Dude, ok, as if I don’t do enough. I’m being for real,” he says, much to her annoyance. “Figure your life out dude. It’s not all about what your man can do for you, it’s about what you can do for yourself right?” he added, leading to a further argument. In fact, Shelby’s boyfriend even suggests he’s a “great” boyfriend for trying to make her peel the orange herself instead of helping. The comments on both TikTok and Twitter/X were a little baffled by the whole thing, with many suggesting it was a “skit” or a scripted attempt at going viral. Many who believed it to be true, though, were surprised by her boyfriend’s comments. “Not peeling the orange – ok, but the not that special was pretty uncalled for,” said one. “‘You’re not even that special’ run for the hills,” another added. “Please tell me this is a skit. If not, dump him,” commented another. The TikToker hasn’t updated things and said if it was a skit or a real situation, but whatever the case, it seems like the relationship test isn’t going anywhere.

  • GinaDarling accuses Katkwo of “taking advantage” of cosplayers – Dexerto

GinaDarling accuses Katkwo of “taking advantage” of cosplayers YouTube: GinaDarlingOn October 12, GinaDarling publicly accused Katkwo of taking advantage of cosplayers for “her own sexual needs,” and attempted to warn the community of their predatory actions. According to Gina Darling, fellow cosplayer Katkwo actively contacted others in the community with an ulterior motive, which they initially disguised as collaboration. Katkwo allegedly wanted to find a third to participate in a three-way with her and her boyfriend, Edward Trail. And in order to find their third partner, the two pressured members of the cosplaying community to partake in sexual relations. Gina Darling told Twitter the couple attempted blackmailing others, backing up her claims with screenshots of private conversations. Gina accuses Katkwo of blackmail One of the screenshots shared an interaction between Katkwo and another cosplayer, where the individual rejected Katkwo’s sexual advance. “I’m conveying to you that it is rather difficult and you are very attractive, but I have to say no to you touching my crotch unless my significant other says yes,” the anonymous person told Katkwo. “I don’t care about your significant other,” Katko replied. Many other incidents were shared, exposing Katko’s potentially predatory behavior. The cosplayer has been called out for threatening ostracization from the scene on multiple occasions. Gina shared a message she received from another anonymous source: “I feel like if I turn her down, I’m losing a bunch of connections,” the message read. Gina’s heart broke after she learned of the incident. “Being afraid to say no to someone because you don’t want to lose business connections early in your career is understandable but not if it costs you your safety,” she stated on Twitter.

  • Girl breaks up with boyfriend just so she could livestream with RiceGum – Dexerto

Girl breaks up with boyfriend just so she could livestream with RiceGum It’s not always that someone has a chance to livestream with a figure as popular as Bryan ‘RiceGum’ Le, and some are willing to take extreme measures for the opportunity. On December 16, RiceGum was doing one of his signature streams which involves finding attractive females on social media and contacting them to appear on his stream via video chat. One such female was Leslie Contreras, who goes by ‘Lesizzl’ on Instagram, who apparently chose to sacrifice her relationship with her boyfriend just so she could appear on stream with the prominent YouTuber. “My boyfriend actually broke up with me because I told him I was doing this live-stream,” she said via facetime. “And I was like ‘are you serious’ and he said ‘yeah’ and I was like ‘bro what the fuck, ok I guess.’ That shit was funny as fuck, so now I’m single.” RiceGum was caught off guard by that revelation, so he really could say nothing much other than “that’s lit” and “that’s hilarious yo” as he spoke with Leslie. As expected, the chat was going wild with their comments, some more extreme than others, and it got to the point where RiceGum had to show the chat box to the female through the video. “Look at the chat! They’re all laughing!” he said, just as Leslie was revealing that she’s now single because of her decision to make the on-screen appearance. Once a dedicated Call of Duty streamer, RiceGum has since launched a semi-successful music career, appeared in a Super Bowl ad, and is currently in the top 250 of most subscribed to channels on YouTube. He now resides in the ‘Clout House’ in Los Angeles with fellow ‘Clout Gang’ members FaZe Banks and Alissa Violet, among others, and can certainly afford to spend time on streaming himself talking to girls he finds online.

Gigi Hadid gives cheeky response after Marijuana arrest in beach vacay pics Instagram: gigihadidModel Gigi Hadid and influencer Leah Nicole McCarthy were traveling to the Cayman Islands on July 10th and were arrested due to the importation of marijuana and paraphernalia – but Hadid isn’t letting it ruin her vacation. The two arrived at their island getaway via private plane but were stopped by the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control, who insisted on checking their luggage. Following her arrest, Hadid has finally spoken out, taking to Instagram to cheekily respond to her recent criminal activity. Hadid said “All’s well that ends well” after recent arrest Although medical marijuana usage has been legal in the Cayman Islands since 2017, Hadid and McCarthy were forced to pay roughly $1,200 in addition to their bail. Despite marijuana not being legal in the US, Hadid’s representative spoke out on her behalf, saying her consumption is due to medical reasons, as Hadid has a medical marijuana license in New York. Although Hadid and McCarthy were briefly under arrest, the duo were released without a conviction and continued their Island vacation after their July 12th court date, where they both pleaded guilty. Instead of staying out of the public eye after being arrested, the duo posted photos to their Instagram of themselves in bikinis, enjoying the sunshine on the beach, with Hadid captioning one photo dump, “All’s well that ends well.” Hadid’s 78.8 million followers were quick to respond in disapproval, saying that she is acting unbothered by her arrest. “Kind of insensitive, knowing there’s millions of people incarcerated for low-level drug offenses whose life will never be the same,” one user wrote. “What a joke.” Another sarcastically asked, “Girl weren’t you just arrested?” while another quipped, “She couldn’t care less lmao.” Aside from her casual Instagram post, Hadid and McCarthy have not released a formal statement to the public following their arrest.

Giant ship stuck in Suez Canal goes viral – best memes & tweets Twitter: One Shot LoggieAfter a year in lockdown, it is safe to say that there isn’t much going on in our lives right now. This then might explain why, for the internet, the most exciting thing to happen at the moment is a massive cargo ship getting stuck in the Suez Canal in Egypt. On Tuesday 23 March, a container ship known as the Ever Given made an unfortunate sideways maneuver in the narrow Suez Canal. As one of the largest container ships ever built, it’s a total of 1,312 feet long. This has made it impossible for boats to pass through the Canal, which is actually a vital shipping route that accounts for 12% of all international trade. At the time of writing, the boat still remains stuck, is blocking hundreds of ships and leaving billions of dollars worth of commodities stranded. Some people related to the situation through TV and movie references: Others took it as an opportunity to dunk on #GirlBoss Twitter and embarrassing Instagram infographics: You are NOT too much. With so many influencers already on their long list of partners, there’s no telling who might be the next person to join up with the popular company.

  • German streamers shocked after their guitar is stolen during live broadcast – Dexerto

German streamers shocked after their guitar is stolen during live broadcast Twitch: RonnyBergerliveTwo German Twitch streamers were busy serenading passersby when a stranger nabbed something pretty important to them — but their reaction wasn’t what everyone expected. Twitch is a hive for all kinds of content. From users broadcasting their travels abroad to sharing their hijinks with friends in online games, it’s safe to say that the platform has something for everyone. Out of all of Twitch’s categories, IRL streams tend to yield the most outrageous moments. After all, it’s hard to predict what others will do when a streamer’s out in the wild… and sometimes, they can capture some outrageous stuff for audiences of thousands of live viewers. Two German streamers captured one such wild moment during a recent broadcast in Berlin. The duo were warbling to the public in the middle of a shopping center, jauntily singing songs into a microphone for all to hear. Unfortunately, they were too preoccupied with their musical performance to pay much attention to the guitar that sat in an open case just behind them. During their livestream, viewers could clearly see a passerby grab the guitar and walk away as smoothly as if it had belonged to him. The two streamers had no inclination that the theft had even happened and continued to wail into the microphone… until one of the broadcasters finally noticed the missing guitar some time later. However, rather than freaking out over the expensive instrument suddenly going missing, the duo laughed in shock before one of the streamers announced that they were missing their guitar into the microphone in case anyone nearby knew what had happened. It’s safe to say that commenters across the net were left slack-jawed at what had just happened, as well as the streamers’ nonchalant response to the theft. This is far from the first time a streamer has caught a theft happening in real time; in 2019, broadcaster Giannie Lee filmed a pickpocket nabbing someone’s wallet, who ended up “returning” the article after realizing he’d been caught in 4K. Luckily, according to an Instagram post from the German streamers, the thief was caught and their guitar returned, resulting in a pleasant end to an otherwise unpleasant situation, marking yet another chapter in the ongoing annals of Twitch’s top shocking moments.

  • German IRL Twitch streamer attacked while live in Paris – Dexerto

German IRL Twitch streamer attacked while live in Paris Twitch: EinSebastian / Chris KaridisLive streaming can be a surprisingly dangerous activity as one German Twitch streamer found out after two men attacked him in Paris for inadvertently filming them. German Twitch streamer Sebastian, who goes by ‘EinSebastian’ on the platform, shares his life with viewers through IRL and Just Chatting streams. Most recently, Sebastian has been streaming in Paris and documenting his travels and various experiences throughout the city. However, he ran into trouble on July 9 after accidentally filming two men walking by who seemingly did not want to appear on camera. The streamer was sitting on a sidewalk in the famous city of love when he turned the camera toward the street he was facing. Laughing with the chat, Sebastian could be heard jokingly saying “I hate you all so much” to his viewers. In a stroke of bad luck, two men walking by at the same time seemingly assumed the camera was focused on them. Sebastian explained he was live streaming, resulting in one of the men charging toward him before the camera cut to black. When the stream returned, Sebastian was running and repeatedly calling “it’s deleted” over his shoulder. He told viewers, “The dude back there just came after me.” “Really bad timing on that one. Was randomly laughing and moved the camera to the person walking by,” one person commented on Reddit about the altercation. “If I was a paranoid weirdo I would have thought they were filming me and laughing which is what seemed to set the guy off.” Others labeled the incident as a cultural issue, claiming this was common in Paris. One said, “They really do be hating tourists, huh?” Another commented, “What the f*** is up with Paris? Holy f***.” Though many were quick to point out that this could have occurred anywhere in the world. For now, we’re just glad that Sebastian is ok and doesn’t seem to be giving up streaming over the attack any time soon. For all the latest entertainment news, be sure to check out our page here.

German saxophone man becomes viral star overnight after taking over EURO 2024 Instagram: andreschnuraThe UEFA European Football Championship has seen a German saxophone player become an overnight success, his music a delight to celebrating fans. Andre Schnura, a talented saxophone teacher, has captured Germany‘s heart with his celebratory music, erupting the streets into dance and song as he performs for fans of the European Championship, 2024. Dressed in a Rudi Völler number 9 shirt with some snazzy sunglasses and facepaint to match, Schnura’s street performances have been bringing people together as the crowds go wild for his music. Becoming a viral star seemingly overnight for his contagious energy and passionate saxophone skills, football fans are now calling for Schnura to perform at the EURO final. His most viral song played at the tournament has been Samba de Janeiro by German pop band Bellini, with fans quickly dubbing it the “unofficial anthem” of the games. Other popular hits played on Schnura’s sax have included Gala’s 1996 hit Freed from Desire, the catchy lyrics resulting in the massive crowd singing along in unison. “Can this tournament [never] end, please?” one person commented on Schnura’s account, describing the “vibe” as “incredible.” Another insisted the sax player had just become a “living legend.” Following the hype around his music, Schnura took to Instagram to thank football fans for celebrating alongside him, admitting he was “completely overwhelmed and endlessly grateful” for all the love. Only a week before becoming an overnight sensation, Schnura had been dismissed from the music school at which he had taught the past six years. Having now touched millions with his music, Schnura shared his plans to continue spreading the love, announcing that he would donate 150€ (approximately $160 USD) for the rest of the year for every saxophone sold through his company, Stalaxy. Now, only time will tell whether football fans will have their demands met and Schnura invited to perform at the Euros finale: “Someone take this man to do the final opening ceremony.”

  • Georges St-Pierre explains why UFC fights would be ‘too dangerous’ for Logan and Jake Paul – Dexerto

Georges St-Pierre explains why UFC fights would be ‘too dangerous’ for Logan and Jake Paul Instagram: georgesstpierre, loganpaulLogan and Jake Paul are quickly making names for themselves in the boxing world, establishing a genuine foundation to secure even more huge fights. But MMA legend Georges St-Pierre thinks any hopes of a UFC bout would be “too dangerous” for the YouTube stars. Jake Paul is still hot off a victory over former UFC man Ben Askren, while older brother Logan has his focus set on an upcoming bout with perhaps the greatest boxer of all time in Floyd Mayweather. While boxing has been their thing, they themselves have discussed the possibility of MMA fights in the UFC in the past, and have regularly called out top UFC fighters for matches in the future. For example, Jake had a well-documented beef with Daniel Cormier following his victory over Askren, though that looks to have been put to sleep now. Both Paul brothers have spoken in the past about how a fight against Conor McGregor would be the ultimate goal, and with their history in wrestling, it doesn’t seem an impossibility to envisage them in the UFC octagon. But GSP doesn’t think that’s the best idea, as made clear in a conversation with JOE MMA. Read More: Jake Paul has made $20m from boxing – “The problem with UFC is it’s a really serious sport where you can be really seriously damaged,” Georges said of the possibility. “In boxing, there are ways of tweaking it. For example, I was offered to have a fight with Oscar De La Hoya, but the rules were different because we were both retired. It would have been bigger gloves, two-minute rounds, eight rounds.” He continued: “It’s a different form of entertainment, and with boxing, you can tweak it like this, you can change the gloves, in MMA you can’t really do that. It’s a really dangerous sport and there’s no… I don’t think there are ways of tweaking it to make it safer for people who are not really competing at the elite level.” View this post on Instagram GSP reiterates that he’s not a “hater” when it comes to the Paul brothers or the hype surrounding them, complimentary of the shows Triller have put on thus far, referring to it as a “freak show” as opposed to the traditional boxing event. Needless to say, many people want to see the Paul brothers step foot in the UFC ring, but St-Pierre isn’t sure it’s in their best interests.

  • Georgia Productions explains why YouTube will eventually overtake TV – Dexerto

Georgia Productions explains why YouTube will eventually overtake TV YouTube: Georgia ProductionsAustralian YouTube star Georgia Productions has revealed why she believes the huge video-sharing platform will eventually surpass mainstream television, especially for kids, as more and more content creators join the website. Georgia has been building her 785,000-strong YouTube fanbase since 2013, and has seen the ins and outs of the website in the past seven years. Most recently, the Aussie star was nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. As the Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony — to be held on March 22 — looms on the horizon, the 20-year-old creator admitted she believes YouTube, and the whole video online domain too, is well on its way to overtaking TV as we know it. According to the Australian YouTuber, who spoke to the Newcastle Herald after she was nominated for the award, the fact kids today can pick up a phone or tablet and load up a video in seconds is where YouTube has the edge over mainstream TV. “Kids can very easily access online content. They can choose exactly what they want to watch, and when they want to watch it. They don’t have to wait a certain amount of time for it to come on TV,” she explained. Modern times have also played a role in the change from television addiction, to YouTube’s mainstream popularity burst. “Attention spans are getting smaller and smaller,” she added. “One day we are all going to be like goldfish.” As well as that, she continued, the YouTube medium is unique compared to television in it feels like you’re sharing the video experiences with your favorite content creators, rather than just watching through a window into their lives. “People feel a lot closer to YouTubers because they tend to share a lot about themselves — there’s not much of a wall or a filter,” she said, though ironically the Australian star has yet to reveal her last name to her hordes of fans. Funnily enough, though, the mega-popular Aussie streamer nearly didn’t start her career on YouTube at all, after her parents told her “no,” when she said she was going to start making videos, aged 13. Eventually, however, a persistent Georgia “wore them down,” and the rest is history. From her humble start, the 20-year-old is now well on her way to a huge million-subscriber milestone — only 165 Australians have hit that mark before. The online comedian has also branched out into publishing recently, releasing her book. The 2018 release touches on her early life, as well as her “adventures” with her “superpower,” ADHD. Georgia has no plans to even step away from YouTube into something more though, at least not long term. She may tinker with other things from time to time — like her book — but she’ll always find her way back to YouTube, she said. “I am branching out, yeah, but not too far,” she said. “I like to stick to my roots and I still love making YouTube videos. I can’t see a point in time where I’d stop just yet.” The 33rd Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will be held on March 22. Georgia will be up against EyStreem, Harvey Petito, Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck, and Mariam Star for the top gong among Aussie & New Zealand content creators.

  • GeorgeNotFound trends as fans discover he looks exactly like Zayn Malik & Shawn Mendes – Dexerto

GeorgeNotFound trends as fans discover he looks exactly like Zayn Malik & Shawn Mendes Twitch: GeorgeNotFoundThe Minecraft community are no strangers to putting their heroes in the limelight, and this time they’ve got GeorgeNotFound trending online after an accidental hairstyle drew comparisons to pop heartthrobs Zayn Malik and Shawn Mendes. Minecraft stans are able to influence the internet way more than many fan groups are, with a huge, super-interactive base of followers that will always show love and discuss their favorite streamers or content creators. For that reason, you’ll often see the biggest ones, such as Dream or TommyInnit, trending on social media for various reasons, be it big news or something completely bizarre and out there. This one falls into the latter category, with fans both drooling over George’s new look and making memes about Malik and Mendes when they wake up to see why their names have been trending too. Many users posted tweets similar to the following, asking “When did Zayn Malik start streaming on Twitch?” https://twitter.com/withertay/status/1412299969327947778?s=20 Some also made jokes about how confused Zayn and Shawn would be when they see their names trending online. https://twitter.com/Lexobenz/status/1412317923465564160?s=20 Others see the irony in the situation, such as Petra who noted that the award-winning artists were trending “because of a Minecraft streamer who didn’t even mention their names himself.” https://twitter.com/404Iore/status/1412301979372736515?s=20 Needless to say, it’s absolutely absurd the power that one strand of hair can have when it comes to the internet, and George will no doubt find the response insane. That said, there are definitely worse celebrities to be compared to, so he probably won’t be too mad about this one.

  • GeorgeNotFound warns TikTok he’ll quit after another ban – Dexerto

GeorgeNotFound warns TikTok he’ll quit after another ban YouTube: GeorgeNotFound/TikTokYouTuber and Minecraft star GeorgeNotFound has once again found himself banned from TikTok, and it’s safe to say he’s not best pleased about it. As TikTok has continued to grow and grow worldwide, a whole host of different content creators have started to use it as a way to expand their reach. In the case of Minecraft star GeorgeNotFound, he hasn’t had the best of times on TikTok. His account was struck down and banned for a period back in February, prompting fans to start the #FreeGeorge trend in a bid to bring him back. While he has been able to do so, his return to TikTok hasn’t been without headaches as he has, yet again, been banned. Though, this time, he’s got a few words for the video-sharing platform. The YouTuber was banned once again come February 24, for reasons he hasn’t yet disclosed, but he did bring a pointed message with him about leaving the app for good. “Stop banning me @TikTok_US or I’m moving to YouTube shorts,” George tweeted off his backup account. Though, some fans questioned why the US TikTok account would be his port of call, given he’s UK-based. The new ban comes less than two weeks after his last one, where he also had a pretty comedic post. “I am not a minor, restore my TikTok immediately or else,” he tweeted back on August 13. STOP BANNING ME @tiktok_us OR IM MOVING TO YOUTUBE SHORTS — George (@GeorgeNootFound) August 24, 2021 George has also had posts struck down for reasons that don’t seem to fit the content of his videos. So, it could be that he’s getting trolled by fans who get a kick out of his TikTok-inspired all-caps rage. We’ll have to wait and see if the message works this time, or if he’ll keep getting banned. He always has the option to jump to Shorts, though, as that has become increasingly popular in the last few weeks.

GeorgeNotFound reaches huge YouTube subscriber milestone YouTube: GeorgeNotFound / Twitter: YouTube / MinecraftPopular Minecraft YouTuber GeorgeNotFound has hit a whopping 10 million subscribers on YouTube, with fans flooding the creator with congratulatory messages about the huge milestone. While Minecraft has been a hugely popular game on YouTube for a while now, the category has undergone somewhat of a revival over the past couple of years, with creators like Dream, TommyInnit, and more developing enormous followings within a very short space of time. One such creator is GeorgeNotFound, an English YouTuber who often makes videos about funny Minecraft challenges, collaborating with other popular names in the community. Much of his recent following is as a result of his participation in the Dream SMP, a wildly popular survival multiplayer server that took the internet by storm, featuring some of the biggest Minecraft YouTubers out there. On December 24, George reached the huge milestone of 10 million YouTube subscribers, much to the delight of his many fans who joined him on a Twitch stream to watch the counter finally hit the huge number in real-time. • GeorgeNotFound smashes world record for Twitch cooking stream viewers – Dexerto

GeorgeNotFound smashes world record for Twitch cooking stream viewers YouTube: JackSucksAtLifeMinecraft streamer George ‘GeorgeNotFound’ has set the record for the most viewers of a cooking livestream on Twitch, thanks to the help of fellow YouTuber Jack Massey Welsh. Several of the world’s most famous streamers have swapped the desk chair for the frying pan, spicing up their content by doing cooking streams live from their kitchen. Just some of the content creators who have shown off their culinary skills include Pokimane, QTCinderella, and Maya. However, kjanecaron’s cooking stream didn’t quite go to plan. However, all streamers will now be competing to beat the record for the most viewers of their future cooking streams thanks to the work of YouTuber GeorgeNotFound. GeorgeNotFound sets record for cooking streams GeorgeNotFound is well-known for his Minecraft streams. Although, he’s also entertained fans with his wild and, at the time, chaotic baking streams. One particular food-fuelled stream became so popular that George set the record for the most viewers for cooking livestream on Twitch, reaching 319, 846 concurrent viewers. It all comes after he was nominated for the accolade by YouTuber Jack Massey Welsh who shared how the event came to be on his YouTube channel. According to Welsh, George first approached asking him to send off a nomination for him after supposedly breaking the record for the highest number of hot tub livestream views. However, the application was denied by Guinness as it was deemed that the small inflatable pool George used was technically not a hot tub. So, the duo compiled evidence and statistics which would make George the record holder for the highest concurrent viewers during his cooking stream ‘George Learns To Cook…‘ from March 20, 2021. The application was a success and George received his framed certificate proclaiming that he was an official world record holder. As a further sweetener, Welsh also gifted him a trophy for the ‘Most Watched Hot Tub Stream.’

  • GeorgeNotFound pranks TommyInnit by faking ban from Dream SMP – Dexerto

GeorgeNotFound pranks TommyInnit by faking ban from Dream SMP YouTube: GeorgeNotFound/TommyInnitGeorgeNotFound decided to prank TommyInnit by telling him that he was at risk of getting kicked from the Dream SMP. Unfortunately, it didn’t exactly go to plan as George forgot to tell Tommy it was a joke before ending the call. Ever since the Dream SMP was created back in 2020, the adventures and lore within the server have been enjoyed by millions of fans across the world. Whether it’s the disk saga between TommyInnit and Dream, or the resurrection of Wilbur in the latest era, there’s always something entertaining going on in the Dream SMP. However, the antics between the server members are not just limited to the game, as GeorgeNotFound demonstrated on-stream. George decided to call Tommy and prank him by saying he’d been banned from the Dream SMP, but it didn’t exactly go to plan. GeorgeNotFound’s prank on TommyInnit doesn’t go to plan During his stream on June 1, George decided to call Tommy and play a prank on him for his viewers. The plan was to speak to Tommy and tell him that Dream was planning on kicking him from the Dream SMP for not creating enough lore. However, after getting onto the call with Tommy and breaking the news, it all got a little serious. George maintained a stern tone throughout the whole conversation and even forgot to tell Tommy it was a joke before the call ended. “You know how you haven’t been streaming much on the SMP? Dream thinks the lore hasn’t been up to standards… basically, you’re gonna have to start upping the lore or we’re gonna un-whitelist you.” It was obvious from Tommy’s reaction that he was confused about what was going on and it wasn’t until afterward that George realized he may have taken it a little too far. Immediately after the call ended, George attempted to call Tommy back, but there was no reply, as he’d gone back to watching his TV series. Despite this, George sent Tommy multiple texts to confirm it was a prank and it appears to have all been resolved now. While jokes between the Dream SMP members are always funny, George probably isn’t the best candidate for hosting a prank call next time.

  • George Janko’s name allegedly blocked from IMPAULSIVE podcast comments amid feud – Dexerto

George Janko’s name allegedly blocked from IMPAULSIVE podcast comments amid feud YouTube: George Janko, IMPAULSIVEThe IMPAULSIVE podcast has allegedly blocked George Janko’s name from its comments section on YouTube as Logan Paul’s feud with the show’s ex-host carries on. George Janko’s feud with IMPAULSIVE hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak has seemingly taken another dramatic turn as fans have caught onto a new feature in the podcast’s YouTube comments. For those out of the loop, IMPAULSIVE is Logan Paul’s very own podcast, which he first started back in 2018. Since then, it’s seen a slew of celebrity guests and has become one of the most prominent influencer talk shows of its kind. Up until recently, it was helmed by BFFS Mike Majlak, George Janko, and of course, Logan himself. However, the pod has run into a bit of drama lately. Starting in December 2022, a spat broke out between its co-hosts when Logan Paul made critical comments about Christianity, leading to a heated disagreement with George Janko, who is a Christian. (Topic begins at 12:18) Since then, the group has been on the outs, with Janko notably stepping away from the show in January 2023 to create his own podcast. There has been no shortage of shade between the three buddies in the months afterward, with Janko calling the situation a “toxic environment.” Now, it looks like things are getting even more personal. Several eagle-eyed fans on Reddit claim that George’s name is being blacklisted from the IMPAULSIVE channel’s YouTube comments, adding even more fuel to the fire. George Janko’s name blocked from IMPAULSIVE comments These commenters say that if you make a comment with George’s name and log out of your account (or use incognito mode), you won’t see that same comment on the video if you sort the comments by ‘newest first.’ However, if you purportedly make another comment without using George’s name, it’ll show up when you log out. You can try the trick for yourself if you like; we gave it a shot here at Dexerto, and came to the same conclusion. Our comment referencing George was not visible when logged out or in incognito mode, but another comment without his name could be seen. It’s not clear if this alleged moderation decision was made due to the tension between the three friends or to simply clean up the pod’s comments section. During the beginning of the drama, new IMPAULSIVE episodes boasted a slew of comments begging them to squash the beef with George and bring him back on the show. For now, it looks like Logan is relaxing in his shiny new pad in Puerto Rico while Janko focuses on his own podcast.

  • George Janko sends message to Logan & Jake Paul as brothers feud – Dexerto

George Janko sends message to Logan & Jake Paul as brothers feud YouTube: George Janko, Bs w/ Jake Paul, Logan PaulGeorge Janko sent a heartfelt message to Logan and Jake Paul as the brothers publicly feud following Jake’s viral appearance on Logan’s IMPAULSIVE podcast. Logan and Jake Paul are two of the internet’s most infamous brothers — and although it seemed like they were on a good track, the siblings have once again gotten into a spat. Logan and Jake’s relationship has been a tumultuous one ever since the pair skyrocketed to online stardom in the late 2010’s. In fact, the two famously got into a nearly relationship-ending fight after Logan Paul allegedly slept with Jake’s former girlfriend, model Alissa Violet. Luckily, the pair made up afterwards — and things seemed to be going well for them up until recently. George Janko urges Logan & Jake Paul to make up amid feud On August 8, Jake notably appeared on an episode of Logan’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, where the two got into a heated argument regarding promoting each other’s products and fights at the other’s events. Since then, Jake has made it known that he’s clearly unhappy with his brother over the incident, calling his big bro “condescending” in an episode of his own podcast after the argument. Since then, an unexpected party has entered the fray with some advice: George Janko, a former co-host of IMPAULSIVE who famously left the podcast due to as-yet unresolved issues with Logan and Mike Majlak. In a recent episode of his own podcast, Janko urged the brothers to make up and not let their feud tear them apart. “Keep it between you guys,” Janko said. “You guys love each other, I know you guys love each other. It can get competitive, and it can get crazy in this world that you guys live in, but never ever ever forget that at the end of the day, you guys came from the same bloodline. Don’t let this world tear you guys apart.” (Topic begins at 12:59) Thus far, neither Logan nor Jake have yet to respond to George’s comments, but fans are in agreement that these two shouldn’t let their beef get in the way of their brotherhood. As for Logan’s part, he recently claimed in an interview with Misfits Boxing that he hopes to resolve his issues with Jake off-camera. We’ll have to see how this conversation pans out and if the two end up making up before Logan’s big boxing match against Dillon Danis in October.

  • George Janko takes shots at Logan Paul & Mike Majlak amid podcast feud – Dexerto

George Janko takes shots at Logan Paul & Mike Majlak amid podcast feud YouTube: George JankoYouTuber and podcast host George Janko has seemingly thrown some major shade toward fellow creators Logan Paul and Mike Majlak just as the trio appears to be in the middle of a mysterious feud. George Janko is a YouTuber and one third of the IMPAULSIVE podcast, a show that was founded by famous influencer Logan Paul and co-hosted by his bestie, author and creator Mike Majlak. Although the trio have generally helmed the podcast on good terms, it looks like there’s trouble brewing in paradise following a cryptic tweet published by Janko in late April. In the post, Janko said: “I wasn’t going to talk, but now I am.” This random message sparked rumors of a possible feud between Janko and his co-hosts — a theory that was only amplified when fans realized he’d unfollowed both Logan and Mike on social media. Now, these rumors are gaining more traction, as Janko has seemingly thrown some thinly-veiled shade toward his former besties on the latest episode of his podcast with special guest Tana Mongeau. George Janko takes shots at Logan Paul & Mike Majlak At the very end of the episode, George and Tana discussed the possibility of creating their own podcast. Tana then joked that they could create a new version of IMPAULSIVE, starring George, Tana, and Jeff Wittek. “Or me and Jeff can have you on Jeff FM, and we’ll have the new IMPAULSIVE. Watch out, Logan. Watch out, Mike. New trio,” Tana joked. “That would be f*cking hilarious,” Janko replied. “But, can you just do me a favor? Put me in a spot where no one looks at me or talks to me, so I feel like how I used to feel.” (Topic begins at 1:08:32) Although it’s not clear if this was a definite jab toward Paul and Majlak, fans are certainly speculating that it might be — especially given the fact that George unfollowed his co-hosts prior to the episode airing. • George Janko reveals “personal issues” that made him leave Logan Paul’s Impaulsive – Dexerto

George Janko reveals “personal issues” that made him leave Logan Paul’s Impaulsive YouTube: BS w/ Jake Paul, Logan PaulPodcast host George Janko has finally revealed the reason why he’s no longer friends with Logan Paul after leaving his show, Impaulsive, in 2022. Logan Paul’s popular Impaulsive podcast has seen a revolving door of co-hosts throughout the years, with George Janko being a fairly regular presence on the show until summer 2022. Janko famously walked off the podcast after getting into a heated disagreement with Logan Paul over religion, where Paul notably called Janko’s beliefs “f*cking silly.” Since then, there’s been an unspoken — but often assumed — tension between Janko and Paul, with Janko often avoiding speaking out about the real reason why he hasn’t returned to the show or rekindled his friendship with Logan. In the past, Janko has claimed he’s “moved on” from the “toxic environment” of the show, saying that Logan and Mike were “talking sh*t” about him. Nearly a year later, Janko has opened up about the situation on an episode of Jake Paul’s podcast, revealing why he’s no longer friends with Logan.. But hopes to one day be able to see eye-to-eye. George Janko reveals why he isn’t speaking to Logan Paul “We had personal issues between each other. And it’s hard, because my love never left, right?” he said, admitting that Logan was “the guy that opened up the doors for me and took care of me.” “I think in the back of Logan’s mind, regardless of how he thinks, and regardless of what I’ve done, as a friend — I think the aspect of him being above me in the industry, in his mind he’ll always think, ‘Well, he’s only sticking around because he gets something out of it.’” “In my mind I was like, ‘F*ck this, I’m out, and when I come back, I’m gonna show you I’m stronger and I don’t need you, and that way when we do have a conversation, you know it’s only out of love.” (Topic begins at 17:00) Thus far, Logan hasn’t publicly responded to George’s comments — but it’s clear that George is waiting for the right time to rekindle their friendship. It’s uncertain when that time might be, though. Although Janko has cemented himself as a popular podcast host with his very own show, Paul has since scored a WWE championship with plans to go full-time with the wrestling org…. and considering the massive success of PRIME, Logan’s star is shining brighter and further away from his days as an internet icon with every passing moment.

  • George Janko says he’s moved on from “toxic” imPaulsive as Logan & Mike ‘talk sh*t’ about him – Dexerto

George Janko says he’s moved on from “toxic” imPaulsive as Logan & Mike ‘talk sh*t’ about him YouTube: George JankoYouTuber and podcast host George Janko says he’s moved on from the “toxic” environment around imPaulsive after Logan Paul and Mike Majlak appeared to take some shots at him in a new episode. While imPaulsive is based on Logan Paul’s name, the YouTube star isn’t the only one at the forefront of the show. He co-hosts it with Mike Majlak, and, up until April, George Janko had been a part of that too. However, the three co-hosts got into a bit of a spat when Logan called George’s religious beliefs “f*cking silly,” prompting George to step away from the show. They’ve all done the classic internet move of unfollowing each other on social media since, with shots continually being thrown from both sides – both subtly and not so subtly. Most recently, Logan and Mike appeared to take a few more digs at George during episode 380 of imPaulsive, including a section where Logan was muted when making a comment about views. George Janko says he’s moved on from “toxic” imPaulsive Many fans quickly assumed that was in reference to George and passed it on to him via social media. Though, there was another where Mike made a joke about the third chair – the spot which George used to have – that was a little less subtle. Well, he has since responded to those. “To the impaulsive fans, I’m so sorry I can’t speak about things! (NOT MY CHOICE),” George said on May 30. “I do love you guys and for those of you sending me the clip of them talking s*it, it’s all love. I’ve already moved on from that toxic environment.” It’s interesting to note that George had previously stated that he would talk about the goings on between himself and the imPaulsive crew, but that stance appears to have changed. It remains to be seen if we’ll ever get an official word from either side though.

George Janko defends Logan Paul in CryptoZoo drama despite Impaulsive fallout YouTube: George Janko, ImpaulsiveYouTuber George Janko is defending Logan Paul in his recent drama surrounding CryptoZoo, despite having a falling out with the influencer earlier in 2023. Early in 2023, fans began noticing George Janko was no longer the third guest host on Impaulsive alongside Logan Paul and Mike Majlak. Janko made in clear that he’s moved on from the podcast, and Logan has been dealing with backlash from his CryptoZoo “scam” that was exposed by Coffeezilla. During his podcast, George Janko defended Logan Paul in regard to the CryptoZoo stuff but made it quite clear that the two aren’t currently friends. George Janko defends Logan Paul’s amid CryptoZoo controversy In the September 14 episode, George Janko and JiDion were talking about Logan Paul’s recent trouble with CryptoZoo when George defended Logan. “Alright, I’m gonna jump into this. It’s going to look like I’m d*ck riding him but I’m not. I just speak the truth,” George said. “I want to make it very clear, me and him are not friends right now. “CryptoZoo is not his fault. I was there when he found out bro, and it looked like someone shot through his chest.” (Topic starts at 50:30 in video) He continued: “I felt like it was the right thing to do to let people know that. I can’t flame him for that.” After being ousted by Coffeezilla at the end of 2022, Logan Paul promised on January 13, 2023, that he would refund CryptoZoo investors after reportedly not delivering on everything he promised would happen with the project. Coffee has updated his viewers since then, claiming that as recently as June 2023, Logan has yet to refund any of the investors.

George Janko fuels Logan Paul & Mike Majlak beef rumors with cryptic tweet & unfollowing YouTube: George JankoYouTuber George Janko has fueled rumors of his fallout with Impaulsive hosts Logan Paul & Mike Majlak after posting a cryptic tweet and unfollowing the pair on Instagram. Over the last few years, Logan Paul & Mike Majlak have hosted their Impaulsive podcast alongside YouTuber George Janko. That is until recently when Logan sparked backlash after attacking George’s religion on a podcast episode. He’s since confirmed that he hasn’t left the show entirely, but a cryptic tweet paired with him unfollowing Logan & Mike has people thinking otherwise. George Janko’s cryptic tweet has fans wondering On April 25, 2023, George posted a cryptic tweet on his Twitter account that has fans wondering if something really had happened between him, Logan, and Mike. “I wasn’t going to talk but now I am,” he said. Fans quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts about the tweet, with many wondering whether or not he’s going to talk about stuff going on between him and Impaulsive. George Janko unfollowed Logan & Mike on Instagram Fans noticed on April 26 that despite Logan Paul and Mike Majlak still following George on social media, George no longer follows the Impaulsive co-hosts on Instagram. Unfortunately, it’s near impossible to search through his following on Twitter, so we couldn’t verify there. Dexerto did, however, verify that George is no longer following Logan and Mike on Instagram. If you go back through the last dozen or so episodes of Impaulsive, you’ll quickly realize that many (if not all) have been recorded sans George Janko. He stated back in January that he hasn’t left Impaulsive, but fans are convinced that something happened between the group. George Janko and girlfriend respond to Chantel Jeffries “cheating” speculation YouTube: chanteljeffries, georgejankoImpaulsive podcast co-host George Janko has had to respond to speculation that he’s cheating on his girlfriend with Chantel Jeffries after rumors ran riot following her appearance on the podcast. Chantel Jeffries is a DJ and influencer that has grown considerably from her YouTube start, having produced songs featuring the likes of Offset, Blocboy JB, and YG among others. On February 18, 2021, Jeffries appeared on the Impaulsive podcast alongside Janko and fellow hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak, where they discussed all manner of things including her career and their cryptocurrency earnings. However, one conversation seemed to dominate following the episode airing: George and Chantel. Many of the comments and elsewhere online see people suggesting that something could be going on between Jeffries and Janko, despite both being in relationships. The rumors had obviously picked up enough steam that George and his girlfriend, Shawna Della-Ricca, spoke out about what was occurring, with Shawna jokingly confronting him about the rumors. “What’s funny is that he [George] came in here earlier and was like ‘did you watch the Impaulsive today?’,” she said, before explaining that he had mentioned the rumors populating the comment section. George added: “I’ve been getting mad DMs about it, and I read the comment section and they’re going crazy over it. I was like ‘What the f**k happened?’” Topic starts at 7:40 Shawna clarified that after skimming through the podcast episode, George “didn’t do anything” or “looked at her in any way” to cause concern. She also added that the rumors could have been caused by him having a little more energy than usual in this particular episode. Shawna did, though, say that she thinks Chantel was staring at George a bit, to which he replied jokingly that “can you blame the woman?!” Needless to say, it definitely seems as though the cheating speculation is nothing more than a baseless rumor.

  • George Janko confirms he hasn’t left Impaulsive despite launching new podcast – Dexerto

George Janko confirms he hasn’t left Impaulsive despite launching new podcast YouTube: George JankoYouTuber George Janko has confirmed that he’s not leaving Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast as co-host despite having just launched a podcast of his own. Ever since Impaulsive launched back in 2018, Logan Paul, Mike Majlak, and George Janko have become some of the most popular podcasters in the world. Logan and George recently had a bit of a spat regarding religion, leaving many to wonder if the two’s long-term friendship would survive, even after Logan issued an apology. George has since launched his own podcast but made it clear that he’s still a part of Impaulsive and friends with Logan Paul. George Janko confirms he hasn’t left Impaulsive On January 19, George uploaded the first episode of his new podcast alongside friend and co-host Greg Lindsay. After quickly bringing up the fact he wasn’t on the latest Impaulsive episode, George confirmed he’s still a part of the show. “Obviously I’m still on Impaulsive guys, for any of you guys that are like ‘Oh, their beef situation and now he’s starting his own [podcast].’,” he explained. “I decided to do this less than 20 hours ago and the reason was this. We had a lot of content lined up for 2023 and right after we shot it I was like ‘This isn’t me bro I wanna focus on things I care about.’” (Topic starts at 1:40 in the video) George went on to explain that he’s had to hold back some of his thoughts on Impaulsive lately, and wants to have a place where he can share them more freely. He also explained that this new podcast is “never going to get to Impaulsive levels” and is doing his own thing so he doesn’t “corrupt the flow of Impaulsive.” Impaulsive has had a wide variety of guests throughout the years, including The Chainsmokers and Markiplier.

  • GeoGuessr hits 58k viewers with first-ever World Cup competition – Dexerto

GeoGuessr hits 58k viewers with first-ever World Cup competition GeoGuessrGeoGuessr, the popular browser game where players have to guess different locations from around the world, just hosted their first-ever World Cup. GeoGuessr is a casual geography game, enjoyed by a wide demographic, where a player is shown a random location through a street-view panorama, and then has to pinpoint the location on a world map – based on clues like street signs and the climate. The player is then awarded points based on how close their guess was to the actual location, and there are ranked leaderboards where avid GeoGuessr fans can compete with other players to be the top Guessr. However, the creators of GeoGuessr decided that they wanted to take the competitive aspect of GeoGuessr a step further, and hosted the first-ever World Cup which they streamed on Twitch. GeoGuessr World Cup had Twitch viewers hyped After GeoGuessr hosted preliminary qualifier tournaments, they had their playoff groups set for the World Cup event which took place from October, 14-15 and hit a peak of 58k viewers on Twitch. The finals were contested between Netherlands’s Consus and France’s Blinky, after the two made it through some tough previous matches. The final was close between the two Geussrs, coming down to the wire until Consus finally put the nail in the coffin to seal his win, taking home the World Cup victory. Fans of GeoGuessr and curious Twitch fans tuned in to watch the event, with an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the event: “I had no idea this was going on and stumbled across it yesterday. This is the most entertaining Esports event I’ve seen in years. My eyes were glued to the screen.” Many others who had never heard of GeoGuessr agreed that the game made for great esports, with viewers finding it to be “Super easy to digest, and lots of tension and drama. Who would have thought that Geoguessr would be such great esport lol.” Old and new fans of GeoGuessr, as a game and esport, can’t wait for the next event – but hope that maybe next time it won’t air at the same time as the biggest event of the year, the League of Legends World Championship.

  • GeoGuessr pro pinpoints TikToker’s beloved bagel shop despite gatekeeping attempts – Dexerto

GeoGuessr pro pinpoints TikToker’s beloved bagel shop despite gatekeeping attempts TikTok: GeorainboltAfter a video of a man gatekeeping a local bagel shop went viral, Geoguessr pro-Rainbolt quickly exposed the location. However, he didn’t stop there. Over the last few years, an increasing number of users on TikTok have taken to uploading videos showing off food from a local restaurant. Keith Lee is among the top food reviewers on the platform, growing significantly since the end of 2022. He consistently uses his platform as a way to bring business to local businesses, making them go mega-viral in the process. After a man went viral showing off a bagel shop local to him but ‘gatekept’ the location, Geoguessr professional GeoRainbolt took matters into his own hands and exposed it — but he didn’t stop there. Viral TikTok exposes ‘gatekept’ bagel shop Noted as the “greatest sandwich” he’s ever had, the original TikToker refused to give out the location to viewers. Rainbolt, however, decided that the OP wasn’t going to gatekeep the bagel restaurant and took matters into his own hands. “I will. It’s an egg cheese and avocado bagel from Bagel Market on 168 William Street,” he said before revealing how far he walked to the location and what table he sat at. But he didn’t stop there, as a way to get back to the OP for gatekeeping the sandwich from viewers, Rainbolt got the restaurant to name it after him. “You can order it by asking for “The Rainbolt,” he said. “Do not gatekeep.” The video has since been viewed over four million times, with thousands of viewers sharing their thoughts in the comments. “If he’s doing indoors now it’s all over,” one viewer said. Another commented: “This man has every inch of the world memorized.” “Gatekeeping food places wild fr,” a third replied. Rainbolt isn’t the only person to have insane GeoGuessr knowledge either, as Asmongold has shared his talents in the past as well.

  • Genius Twitch extension adds YouTube and Facebook streamers to Twitch – Dexerto

Genius Twitch extension adds YouTube and Facebook streamers to Twitch Twitch: xQcow/LudwigA browser extension has been created that allows users to add their favorite YouTube and Facebook Gaming streamers to Twitch, putting them all in one place. With the expansion of livestreaming platforms rivaling Twitch, many viewers have found themselves having to flick between different platforms if they want to watch their favorite streamers. For example, if you want to flick between xQc, Ludwig, and ZLaner, you have to visit three different websites to get your livestreaming fix. As a result, it sometimes means that you watch certain streamers less, especially if they migrate away from Twitch — but that might not be the case any longer. Thanks to this Twitch extension, you can get all of your top streamers in one place, all laid on in the Twitch sidebar as if they’re streaming directly on the platform. Twitch Previews aims to bring “a bunch of quality of life improvements” to the Amazon-owned platform, and now they’ve added this. “In addition to your favorite YouTube streamers, you can now add your favorite Facebook Gaming streamers to your Twitch sidebar!” A new feature! In addition to your favorite YouTube streamers, you can now add your favorite Facebook Gaming streamers to your Twitch sidebar!– And it’s supported by our previews, custom video embeds & Multi-Stream features so you can use our Multi-Stream cross-platform 🙂 pic.twitter.com/xtydKPzyvW — Previews (For TTV & YT) (@TwitchPreviews) February 8, 2022 They even added that “it’s supported by our previews, custom video embeds & Multi-Stream features so you can use our Multi-Stream cross-platform,” making watching all the different streamers at once significantly easier. With the streaming space growing extensively every year, and the biggest names moving away from Twitch, an extension like this might soon become more of a necessity than a luxury. However, whether the platforms themselves are a fan of this extension being available, is another question. For now though, it works a treat.

  • Genshin Impact character hits on Amouranth and gets brutally shut down – Dexerto

Genshin Impact character hits on Amouranth and gets brutally shut down Amouranth / TwitchTwitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has jumped right onto the trend of playing Genshin Impact for her audience, and it looks like she’s enjoying herself with the voice lines. One of the characters tried to hit on her, but that didn’t go down very well. The popular personality, who has over 1.7 million followers on her channel, is well-known for her dance streams and IRL content. Those who have watched her online will know she regularly appears at the very top of the Just Chatting section. Though, she doesn’t tend to limit herself to just in-real life broadcasts. On October 17, she showed that again by diving into miHoYo’s Genshin Impact, which some people have claimed to have spent thousands of dollars on since its September 2020 release. One even called spending $5,000 on cosmetics a regretful “learning experience.” Now, we can’t say Amouranth shared the same regrets playing it, however. Amouranth on Genshin Impact During her stream, it looked like she really enjoyed trying something different, but it really was the role-playing side of the title that appeared to hook her in to keep playing. In one scene, she enjoyed a bit of back and forth with the NPCs – as seen below. It asks her: “Are you a hilichurl with some reasonable level of intelligence?” to which she replies no, and it says: “No, I doubt it. After all, hilichurls aren’t exactly known for their smarts.” Soon after, she fired back “I’ll be your apprentice,” clearly focusing on the task in hand. Genshin Impact character hits on Amouranth Now, that clip was just an example of how interactive it made her stream, but maybe the best moment was this one. A brutal shutdown. It didn’t take long for her to work out what Kaeya was trying to do after a short exchange with the character, giving him the knock-back quickly after he tried to hit on her in-game. “Please do visit me at our headquarters when you have the time,” he said as she was about to leave, followed by: “I also know a lovely tavern, if that’s more your thing.” After that, she quickly decided he was a “f**k boy” and joked all men are the same. Not quite the result Kaeya would have been after, but there you go. Fans will be hoping for even more of these cool moments in Genshin Impact, because after this stint on the game, she’s surely going to jump back on to the viral trend again soon enough.

  • Genius idea for snacking while gaming gets Kevin Hart’s approval on Shark Tank – Dexerto

Genius idea for snacking while gaming gets Kevin Hart’s approval on Shark Tank Shark Tank / SnactivKevin Hart cashes in on a genius product to eliminate mess when snacking while gaming in a hilarious Shark Tank pitch. A pitch for a genius snacking idea while gaming has grabbed the attention of both Kevin Hart and Lori Greiner who greatly approved of the new product. The episode itself was hilarious but the idea is undeniably genius and could be ideal for hardcore streamers or messy gamers. The new product in question is called Snactiv. They’re essentially small chopsticks that attach to your index and middle finger, allowing you to type while still being able to pick up messy snacks without getting your hands dirty. During the pitch, creators Kevin Choi and Edwin Cho explain how they noticed the issue when working from home and discovered a simple fix for the ever-lasting issue of greasy and messy keyboards. Throughout the pitch, every Shark was laughing, especially Kevin Hart who took one look at the product and explained that “instantly I just got happy”. He went on to praise the product by saying how he liked “the simplicity of it, it’s just easy, simple, and fun” which explains why he ended up putting in an offer. The offer made to the Sharks was 200k with 10% of shares in their company. Due to the product’s overall success among the Sharks, there was a small bidding war between Kevin O’Leary and the newly formed team, Kevin Hart and Lori Greiner. O’Leary offered 200k for a 10% stake and a royalty of $1 until that reaches $1M whereas Hart and Greiner came together to offer 200k and a 20% stake. The creators of Snactiv ended up going for Kevin Hart and Lori Greiner’s offer and walked away with 200k, only handing over 20% of the company. Such a product is perfect for gamers and will be ideal for anyone who loves to snack while playing. It takes the pressure off grabbing a snack while mid-combat and allows you to keep those controllers and keyboards pristine.

  • Genius TikTok hack helps shoppers see if jeans fit without trying them on – Dexerto

Genius TikTok hack helps shoppers see if jeans fit without trying them on Unsplash.com: Waldemar Brandt / TikTok: kristinakacheevaA life hack is sweeping TikTok that helps shoppers see if the jeans they want to buy will fit without actually having to try them on, saving them time in the store. Shopping at stores in-person has some major benefits compared to perusing online retailers — namely, that customers can try on clothing before committing to buying it (and avoiding sending ill-fitting items back through the post). When fitting rooms closed across the world due to the global health issue, shoppers were left taking their chances with clothes that might not fit, or shopping exclusively online. Going into the fitting room and trying on a huge haul of clothing can also take quite a bit of time out of your shopping trip… but TikTok has shared a genius hack to save you time in the store. What is the TikTok ‘neck trick’ jeans hack? TikTok users across the app are sharing the ‘neck trick,’ a viral method to see if jeans will fit without actually putting them on. The trick is simple; simply pull the waistline of the jeans around your neck. If the ends of the waist just barely touch, then the jeans are supposedly a perfect fit. If there’s too much excess fabric, the pants may be too big, and if they don’t touch at all, they might be too small. Click here if TikTok fails to load. TikTokers are flooding the app to share their own experiences with the hack, with the search term “jean hacks around neck” garnering over 337 million views and the hashtag #jeanhack gaining over 59 million views. Although this method is extremely popular right now, not everyone has had positive experiences with it, with one user explaining that after trying out the hack in-store, her jeans didn’t actually fit when she got home. Click here if TikTok fails to load. TikToker ’emma rogue’ also explained last year that the hack might not work perfectly every time and largely depends on the cut, rise, fabric, or general make of the jeans in question. Still others are saying this particular trick has been around far longer than its recent fame on TikTok. “I think it’s only Americans that didn’t know,” one user wrote. “My Dominican grandmother taught me this when I was a kid,” another said. “Almost every Hispanic dad does this lol,” another commenter shared. This isn’t the first time a jeans-related hack has taken TikTok by storm; back in April, one TikToker went viral for sharing the unconventional method her Grandmother shared with her to help her jeans fit again.

  • Gene Simmons shocks Twitter after revealing bizarre breakfast habit – Dexerto

Gene Simmons shocks Twitter after revealing bizarre breakfast habit Kiss frontman Gene Simmons has spent the first days of 2020 stirring up a healthy serving of heated discourse on social media after the heavy metal rocker revealed one of the more interesting ways to eat breakfast cereal. There’s plenty of odd ways to eat breakfast, for sure, and considering it’s the first meal to get you out of bed in the morning, you want it to be just right. As it turns out, Kiss bassist Simmons has found his chill twist, revealing two photos of his blended Oreo and frosted shredded-wheat cereal and asking his 884,000 followers “anyone else put ice cubes in their cereal?” on January 2. True to the rocker’s words, the first photo showed large chunks of ice floating in his cereal and milk. The second, a closer shot, revealed just how many large blocks were included in his near-overflowing bowl of sugary cereals. Anyone else put ice cubes in their cereal? pic.twitter.com/lfvZr5lBjk — Gene Simmons (@genesimmons) January 2, 2020 Twitter was less than thrilled about the Kiss star’s breakfast ritual, with some dubbing the frozen choice an affront to nature, and others suggesting Simmons was “moving further from god’s light” by creating the iced cereal. Hollywood comedian Tom Arnold quickly added his two cents, suggesting cereal and ice was a delicacy served for $40 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and that it was both “tasty,” and “makes you poop too.” Others were more damning of the cereal hack, especially writer Dave Jorgenson, who slammed the 70-year-old rocker’s breakfast choice and said he had “ruined 2020” already – a big call considering the year is less than a week old. Others offered up alternatives which ranged from not doing it at all, to having smaller ice cubes, so they didn’t fill up the bowl, and some wiser fans even suggested freezing milk in chunks to avoid making the cereal watery at all. One fan even suggested Simmons needed to “start living in 2020,” and shared their image of nearly half a dozen frozen cubes of milk in a bowl. Why don’t you start living in 2020 Gene. pic.twitter.com/1gkd16Gbxs — Anarcho-Bloombergist Ⓐ (@buckadef) January 2, 2020 Unfortunately for those left offended or shocked by Simmons’ cereal may not see any respite on the horizon, after the Kiss star’s son Nick revealed he had been watching his father doll out ice onto his cereal for his entire life. “30 years… 30 years watching him do this. This is my life,” Nick said, confirming this wasn’t just some weird 2020 trial the Kiss bass player was testing out. Gene’s wife Shannon was less informative, only weighing in with “No no no!” 30 years. 30 years watching him do this. This is my life. — Nick T. Simmons (@nicktsimmons) January 2, 2020 While there have been plenty of replies damning the Grammy nominees’ icy Wheaties, it seems like there’s the silent majority who are either on Simmons’ side or at least pretty amused by it all, considering he’s racked up more than 22,000 likes. There’s also another thing worth considering: Simmons is a pretty creative guy, obviously, and he and Kiss broke new barriers when it came to rock. Maybe he’s just pioneering more creativity in another field. It’s worth a taste-test, at least.

  • Gen Zs respond to “embarrassing” millennial TikTok diss tracks – Dexerto

Gen Zs respond to “embarrassing” millennial TikTok diss tracks TikTok: Sarah Hester Ross/Ryan KenThe rivalry between millennials and boomers has been a tale as old as time, but now it looks like there is another cross-generational clash that’s heating up, as millennials are singing their frustrations away at Generation Z TikTokers for “cancelling” things like skinny jeans and side parts. Since millennials got wind of the fact that some Gen Z-ers over on TikTok were less than enthusiastic about their penchant for skin-tight jeans and side parts, they responded in the only way they knew how: with elaborate musical parodies. Bizarrely, dozen of these kinds of parodies have popped up, but one of the most popular is by musician Sarah Hester Ross. In a since-deleted TikTok, she can be seen composing a song on the keyboard, which includes lyrics like “Hey Gen Z you can suck it, you can’t tell me what to wear.” Another popular TikTok response aiming to put the Gen Z-ers in their place was by user Brandy Coble. In her video, which has also since been deleted from the platform, she can be seen parodying the song ‘God Bless the USA,’ with lyrics including the now heavily-memed line: “And I’m proud to be a millennial, with my side part and skinny jeans.” Why do these women see one girl who’s younger and hotter than them and immediately turn into weird al yankovic pic.twitter.com/eWFVaStVgh — KILLER MEG (Interdimensional entity..) (@horse_feedbag) March 6, 2021 Unfortunately, these parodies didn’t exactly get the reception these millennials were looking for… How did Gen Z respond to these parodies? A lot of Gen Z-ers appeared to be largely confused about how the beef even started in the first place, with one Twitter user saying in response to Ross’ parody, “literally no one cares if you have a side part of wear skinny jeans.” Another user added that “no one in Gen Z actually cares about what millennials are doing or wearing, they just like to victimize themselves and have the attention on them all the time.” Other Gen Z-ers were puzzled by the fact that millennials’ response to the beef was to start making musical parodies, with Twitter user Adam Koplick asking: “Why do millennials always break out into song when they’re upset?” “It’s the High School Musical in them,” another user responded. …….literally no one not a single person not one vessel of life cares if she has a side part or wears skinny jeans.— princess bean but kinky (@shutupandhugmee) February 28, 2021 Even fellow millennials were embarrassed by the beef, with several of them refusing to “claim” the music-makers. A self-described “resident zillennial” on Twitter said that they “will be identifying as a zoomer until millennials stop being embarrassing,” while one millennial Tweeted: “Even if they are cracking jokes on us, why should we be concerned about kids making jokes on us?” Over on TikTok, some Gen Z-ers decided to get even by making musical parodies of their own. One especially popular parody, which was made by actor and comedian Ryan Ken, begins with insistence that despite being born in 1989, he’s “still the special baby,” before going into lyrics such as: “I’m a white lady with no business to mind, so I thought that I would go drop some rhymes.” What is the millennial and Gen Z “culture war”? It all started with the humble crying-with-laughter emoji. In a blog post on Emojipedia in late January, Jeremy Burge claimed that the laughing crying emoji was now considered out-of-fashion for members of Generation Z (people who were born on or after 1997) on TikTok. He said: “It’s common wisdom on TikTok that the laughing crying emoji is for boomers. And by boomers I mean anyone over the age of 35.” From there, word got around on TikTok and Twitter that the popular emoji was now being “cancelled” by Gen Z-ers, which in turn enraged millennials. Adding to their rage, throughout the month of February, several videos by Gen Z TikTokers have gone viral for appearing to mock what they deem to be classical millennial behaviour. One viral TikTok, which was by user ‘Lady Gleep,’ boldly declared that “there is not a single person that looks better with a side part than they do with a centre part.” Around the same time, another TikTok, by user ‘momohkt,’ also went viral. In a mock tutorial where she tells people how to style skinny jeans, she suggests that people throw them out, repurpose them or set them on fire. To each, their own, I guess…

  • Gene Simmons’ Pokemon lookalike draws amazing reaction from KISS frontman – Dexerto

Gene Simmons’ Pokemon lookalike draws amazing reaction from KISS frontman Alberto Cabello/Wikimedia CommonsGene Simmons, the lead singer of the rock band Kiss, was surprised to see that a new Pokemon looks just like him. The new black and white Obstagoon found in the upcoming Sword and Shield games has a look that’s strikingly similar to the 69-year-old rockstar, tongue out and all. When the Kiss frontman found out about the Pokemon he didn’t seem that impressed at first. Replying to a tweet that said “Ah, finally, the Gene Simmons Pokemon…”, Simmons responded with “welp”. However, the fan response to the Pokemon were well-received. “It was made for loving you?” one joked. “Congratulations, Gene! Welcome to the Pokemon world!” another said. While the singer may have originally seemed a bit put off over the new creature, he was actually quite impressed. “Pokemon has been a part of our household for decades, ever since our kids first discovered them,” he told Newsweek. Congratulations, Gene! Welcome to the Pokemon world! — Forever Sleepy (@Origamigryphon) August 8, 2019 “And to see Pokemon pay homage to Kiss, is flattering,” he added, putting to rest any suggestions that he disliked the design. Newsweek also reported that Game Freak has not issued an official statement on their inspiration, but it’s tough to not see the comparisons between the two. 600 The Galarian forms of Zigzagoon and its evolutions were revealed in a special trailer on August 7 with all sorts of other region-specific Pokemon. There’s no indication of if Zigzagoon can learn the move “Kiss” but we can only hope so. Many were expecting region specific looks after Game Freak made them for the Alolan region. Among the new ones is Galarian Weezing, which for some reason, looks like a bong. Pokemon Sword and Shield are scheduled for release on November 15 on Nintendo Switch.

Gen.G signs cosplayers Snitchery and Emily Ghoul Instagram: Snitchery / Instagram: Emily GhoulGen.G has signed popular cosplayers Snitchery and Emily Ghoul alongside its newest members in a first for the organization. On Tuesday, January 12, esports organization Gen.G announced its newest members for 2021. The new members include League of Legends players Nemesis, Crownshot, and Cuvee, and Overwatch player Ryujehong. But, two cosplayers also join the ranks: Snitchery and Emily Ghoul. This comes after Gen.G began an initiative to recruit more women, starting in 2019 with a Bumble partnership that led to an all-female Fortnite team, also leading to an all-female Valorant team in October 2020. This isn’t a first for esports, as in August last year, Cloud 9 was the first esports organization to sign a cosplayer, taking on Emiru, who had already amassed nearly a quarter of a million fans on Twitch and social media prior to joining. Snitchery celebrated the news on her Twitter, retweeting GenG saying, “bitch… I’m a gamer girl now!! She’s largely known as a make-up artist and cosplayer, dressing up as an eclectic mix of characters from Catwoman to Spongebob’s Mermaid Man. Emily Ghoul is also an up and coming cosplayer mainly known for her Instagram where she has almost half a million followers, posting anime cosplays or gaming-related cosplays such as imagined Cyberpunk characters. Emily sometimes streams on Twitch, often playing League of Legends or Valorant. With these new additions, perhaps more cosplayers will be signed by Gen.G in the future, and perhaps by other esports organizations too.

  • Will Gawr Gura stream on Twitch? Hololive EN star addresses platform swap – Dexerto

Will Gawr Gura stream on Twitch? Hololive EN star addresses platform swap YouTube: Gawr Gura / TwitchHololive EN star Gawr Gura has addressed the potential of moving from YouTube to Twitch — even for just one stream — as the VTuber opens up about her content plans for 2022. She would follow in the footsteps of some of Hololive’s other stars who made the swap, if only temporarily. With a YouTube fanbase of nearly 4 million, Gawr Gura is the biggest name when it comes to VTubing in the world. So when the idea of a potential Twitch stream came up — fans’ eyes lit up. The Hololive EN star has streamed exclusively on YouTube since her debut in 2020, which has proven to be incredibly successful for her. However, with Hololive JP stars occasionally jumping on Twitch like Usada Pekora (with 158,000 followers on Amazon’s platform) to broaden their content base with things like reaction content, the group’s English stars could follow in their footsteps. “‘How about a Twitch channel for [reaction content]?’ Some of the Hololive JP members stream on Twitch, they do watchalongs and stuff. I think it’s only a couple at a time,” Gura said on stream. “Nobody from EN has done that yet so I wonder if that’s something they’re going to want to do this year.” There aren’t any formal plans for Gura to stream on Twitch. In fact, the VTuber had her reservations about moving from her YouTube home onto the Amazon-owned platform. She didn’t rule out the possibility though, even if it’s just for one stream. The big benefit of doing so is that Gura could host a more casual “Just Chatting” style stream with her chumbuddies, reacting to content like some of Twitch’s biggest names. “Twitch is different. It’s just a whole different atmosphere for streaming. At the end of the day it’s still streaming, but it’s just different,” she explained. The related segment begins at 4:26:28. “There’s a lot of lingo that I don’t know about. They have their own words and phrases and stuff I don’t know. I know some of the words make it over here, but I feel like Twitch chat is less conversation and more massive walls of emotes. “I’m not going to say it’s good or bad — it’s just scary.” It wouldn’t ever be a permanent move for Gawr Gura to Twitch — for now, Hololive’s roots are firmly in the YouTube ecosystem. However, a sea change could open up the doors for more in the space to follow and start joining other VTuber stars like VShojo on Twitch.

  • “Gay furry hackers” breach a US nuclear lab and they have demands – Dexerto

“Gay furry hackers” breach a US nuclear lab and they have demands A-1 PicturesA group of self-described “gay furry hackers” have hacked one of the biggest nuclear labs in the US and they have a very specific demand. Idaho National Laboratory (INL), one of the largest nuclear labs in the United States, has confirmed they were hacked by SiegedSec — a group of self-described “gay furry hackers.” “On Monday, Nov. 20, Idaho National Laboratory determined that it was the target of a cybersecurity data breach in a federally approved vendor system outside the lab that supports INL cloud Human Resources services,” INL said in a statement to Engadget. With the company taking “immediate action” to protect thousands of records of user and employee data, SiegedSec revealed their bizarre demands in exchange for keeping the stolen data private. Claiming to have access to employees and users’ full names, birthdates, home addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, and “lots lots more,” SiegedSec revealed their desired ransom wasn’t conventional money. “We’re willing to make a deal with INL,” SiegedSec wrote in their announcement of the breach. “If they research creating IRL catgirls we will take down this post.” While their request for INL to bring real-life catgirls into the world might not be all too serious, the fantastical and unrealistic request is unlikely to offer any relief for the thousands at risk of having their personal information doxed. Offering some insight into why SiegedSec targeted INL, the group tweeted, “We are cats, intricacies such as “why” do not concern us.” “Seriously?? You hack a lab that’s trying to combat climate change and you’re only explanation as to WHY is, “I’m a cat”? Are you 12?” one user responded. To this, SiegedSec said, “INL is responsible for a lot more than climate change solutions, they were not targeted due to their involvement in climate change mitigation.” In a separate post, the group shared a headline reporting their hack and identifying the group as gay furry hackers, writing, “We [love] our fans.” Be sure to check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

  • Gawr Gura’s chaotic 2022 New Year’s resolutions are exactly what you’d expect – Dexerto

Gawr Gura’s chaotic 2022 New Year’s resolutions are exactly what you’d expect YouTube: Gawr GuraGawr Gura is scatterbrained at the best of times, but her New Year’s resolutions for 2022 are something else. They’re pretty much everything you’d expect from the Hololive star — recording a message to her future self with all her grand (and weird) goals. She might be the queen of VTubers — at least in terms of numbers and records — but Gawr Gura’s streams are unfiltered chaotic energy to the max. The Hololive EN star brought in 2022 with her chumbuddies in chat with plenty of shenanigans, but none more so than when she recounted her new year’s resolutions. As you can expect, they were anything but straightforward, but Gura does have some big plans for the next 12 months. She wrapped up her January 1 stream with a “note to myself” to “Future Gura” — but whether future Gura could make out what current Gura was saying will be an entirely different story. “Dear Future Gura, this is me from the past. A year previous. I’m running late currently. I wonder if you’ve gotten better with your time management in a year but I strongly doubt it,” she joked. “I wanted to leave you with a small message with: no matter what happens this year in the world, as long as you keep yourself on the right track — happy, healthy, eat healthy, exercise, smash those goals.” Those goals exactly? One of them was to leave a very specific word in 2021, probably feet given all the memes and weirdly close calls about them. However, she also wants to try and release more original music (her July 2021 release, REFLECT, has 7 million streams on Spotify) and show off her dance moves with a 3D model — something Cover Corp has promised for their Hololive idols. “Gura of the future, I hope in 2022 you are able to release more original music, I hope you are able to work with people that you really look up to, I hope that you’re able to grow closer with your Hololive member, I hope you’re able to do 3D and show your dance moves off. The related segment begins at 3:45:48. “But I hope, above all, that Gura of the future, was able in 2022 to make all the Chumbuddies very proud.” She told her chat to also keep her accountable, to “clip it and ship it” and save it for posterity. It’s a sensible list of goals all up, but it was a very chaotic way of going about it — which is probably the most Gura way of doing things.

  • Gawr Gura merch’s “insane” price tag scares off Hololive fans – Dexerto

Gawr Gura merch’s “insane” price tag scares off Hololive fans Hololive/SuperGroupiesHololive EN’s Gawr Gura revealed a new line-up of merchandise in collaboration with SuperGroupies and while fans adore the designs, they don’t appreciate the price tags attached. Supergroupies and Cover Corporation teamed up to deliver fans a range of new merchandise for Hololive’s most popular talent, Gawr Gura. This range includes an acrylic stand, bag, jacket, and watch all themed after the shark VTuber. The reception to this was initially positive with the merchandise itself being well received. However, this changed once price tags were revealed with the watch and jacket costing $230 each, the backpack priced at $190, and even the acrylic stand being $25. All of those prices are before tax and shipping too so additional fees will be added on. Having mixed opinions on the merchandise, one fan posted on the Hololive subreddit, “New Gura merch Collab probably had one of the drippiest designs I’ve seen on a merch,” before questioning, “That watch is cold as hell man why is it so expensive?” Others echoed similar viewpoints replying, “The designs are definitely lit, but at the same time they aren’t fooling around with their price tag either.” Another fan responded, “That’s a skip for me. Too pricey. If the watch was a Seiko it would be another story…” while a different user expressed, “These prices are insane. They got like a 400% profit margin lmao.” A handful of comments defended the pricing citing the watch’s “incredibly high quality,” but the general sentiment was one of disappointment with how much the merchandise cost with many fans unable to justify spending that much.

  • Gavis Bettel loses his mind as first Hololive solo streams canceled over tech issues – Dexerto

Gavis Bettel loses his mind as first Hololive solo streams canceled over tech issues YouTube: Gavis BettelGavis Bettel might be the Jester VTuber of Hololive’s new TEMPUS talents, but he is certainly the butt of all jokes during his debut week. After tech issues plagued his first two debut streams, the new star is slowly losing his mind in chaotic Twitter Spaces. Hololive started off 2023 with a bang, debuting the first major agency branch of the year with a second generation of TEMPUS talents. The English HOLOSTARS group expanded to eight members, including one jester in Gavis Bettel. While his three genmates have had a smooth debut with minimal technical issues, Bettel has not been so fortunate. The jester was cutting in and out of their first collab stream, and has now been forced to cancel his first two solo streams due to technical issues. The star noted issues with his internet and PC as the root cause, but instead of licking his wounds, he tried to give his fans something to enjoy in the form of a Twitter Space. And if anything, it endeared fans to the jester more. Even in his first Twitter Space, Bettel couldn’t escape the scuff. With his stream not working, he tried to connect with fans on the social media platform — only to be muted for the first 25 minutes after opening it. Once he unmuted his mic finally, the chaos began. “I did not see my day going like this — disaster,” he laughed. “Not a single problem! Flayon goes on, not a single issue on the day! Great stream! Nailed it! I can’t wait for Bettel’s stream! Oh, where’s Bettel’s stream? “It’s not a joke, my luck is incredibly terrible. I sure hope everyone’s first solo stream goes well today. It’s not like I have a few bits planned and I had a whole thing ready. It’s not like I got up at 10am and have four hours of sleep and stay up the entire day so I can get a healthy sleep schedule the next, no! Who cares?” He spoke to fans about his big plans for the stream, and shared some rather eyebrow-raising stories about his journey through life. But he went into Tuesday with unbridled enthusiasm, ready to go live finally and cook up that big three-course meal. Except, when Tuesday rolled around, he only got two minutes into his stream before tech issues once again forced him to cancel. And once again, Bettel went live on Twitter to vent his frustrations. His second Twitter Space was just as unhinged, with the jester screaming about his technical issues and retelling stories of his childhood, including his interesting candy-eating tendencies and PlayDoh antics. However, there was a silver lining to all of this. More than 4,000 fans tuned into his Twitter Spaces on each day, and there’s now even more hype around the Jester of holoTEMPUS for when he can finally make his solo debut. “I do hope to give you guys something later in the week,” he said. “I have no idea when this is going to get fixed. I’m going to stop this Twitter Space, take a cold shower, and then I’ll get to work and figure out what is happening. Frankly, I’m losing it! “I’m going to blow through all of my talking content in the first week. I won’t have anything to say [in a Just Chatting stream] because I would have just gone through my entire life with these Twitter Spaces. I’m noticing a pattern this week, so I’m getting a little worried! “I know this is frustrating to some because they’re expecting content in the form of VTuber-based streaming. But you don’t get that. Not yet. You’ve gotta earn it!” It comes after Bettel accidentally used the same art tag as a smaller indie VTuber named Jester, which led to it being flooded with drawings of the Hololive star. He has since changed his art tag and cleared up the confusion, and everything has been smoothed over. As for his stream though, fans will have to wait for another 24 hours to see whether Bettel can actually go live on YouTube or if he’ll become “the first VSpacer in the world” as he proclaimed.

  • Gawr Gura breaks YouTube milestone to become most popular VTuber ever – Dexerto

Gawr Gura breaks YouTube milestone to become most popular VTuber ever YouTube: Gawr GuraHololive’s Gawr Gura has been the VTuber success story over the last 12 months, and now, she has all the recognition to show for it. She has overtaken Kizuna AI to become the most popular VTuber on YouTube, shattering a huge milestone along the way. Of all of the Hololive EN VTubers, no one has been more popular than Gawr Gura. Since debuting in September 2020, she has brought YouTubers into the mainstream fold more than any avatar before. Her character — a cute shark — and her mix of gaming and musical content took everyone by storm. Now, she has all the plaudits to go along with that. Gawr Gura smashed through the 3 million YouTube subscriber mark — her fan base is affectionately named Chumbuds — becoming the first VTuber to do so. The fact she did so within 12 months, ahead of the multiple generations of Hololive talent that debuted before her, is even more impressive. In doing so, she also overtook Kizuna AI, widely considered to be the first VTuber. Kizuna AI has 2.97 million subscribers on YouTube, which Gura officially overtook on June 30. Gawr Gura has also earned nearly $1 million in Super Chat revenue on YouTube (similar to donations on Twitch) in her 10 months on the platform, putting her in the top 30 of the platform according to stats site Playboard. Often, VTubers have massive celebrations for their milestone streams like 1 million or even 2 million subscribers. She celebrated her past milestone streams with a Karaoke party. With 3 million being an unprecedented record, it’s expected to be a huge celebration across the entire Hololive family. It’s also likely she will break that $1 million Super Chat revenue milestone too. It comes after Hololive announced the first run of merchandise for their English VTubers. Gawr Gura herself will be immortalized in a Nendoroid figure fans will be able to pick up in the coming months once it goes on pre-order. • Gaules dethrones xQc as Twitch’s most-watched streamer after Rio Major boost – Dexerto

Gaules dethrones xQc as Twitch’s most-watched streamer after Rio Major boost ESLBrazilian streaming star Alexandre ‘Gaules’ Borba has once again toppled Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel as Twitch’s most-watched streamer, thanks to CS:GO’s IEM Rio Major. When it comes to deciding Twitch’s most popular streamers, fans typically look at a few different bits of criteria. You have the most-subscribed to streamers who stand out, there are also the most-followed streamers who have been around for years, and then you have those who have attracted the most viewers for a consistent period. The likes of xQc and Ninja have dominated the first two categories for the longest time, but the third is a constant tussle between a few names. A handful of streamers have taken the crown of Twitch’s most-watched streamer over the last few months including xQc, Gaules, and Kai Cenat. In the case of Gaules, the former Counter-Strike pro typically makes a run for the top spot whenever a big CS:GO tournament goes down. And well, with the November Major being in his backyard of Rio, it makes sense that he has come out on top this time around. Gaules beats xQc as Twitch’s most-watched streamer in November That’s right, with Gaules stealing the show at the Rio Major and streaming live from the event – all the way from the Challenger’s Stage to the Grand Finals – he’s shot to the top of the most-watch charts. According to stats from SullyGnome, the Brazilian streamer dominated both the hours watched and peak viewers stats for November – beating out ESL’s official major streams, xQc, Kai Cenat, and his compatriot Casimito. Gaules had nearly 21 million hours of watch time, over 2 million more than second-placed ESL. His peaker viewing numbers was over 534,000 as well, which is no mean feat. As we’ve seen previously, though, the streamer is likely to lose his top spot when the stats for next month roll around. He’s been in a constant tussle with xQc for that top spot, and the two will probably go back and forth next month too.

  • Gaules takes xQc’s Twitch throne for May after mega PGL Antwerp Major streams – Dexerto

Gaules takes xQc’s Twitch throne for May after mega PGL Antwerp Major streams Twitter: GaulesBrazilian CSGO streamer Gaules has nabbed the top spot on Twitch for May 2022, knocking Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel out of pole-position for the month while smashing personal records. The coveted title of ‘most-watched’ streamer is fought for each month with fierce competition. Never far from the top, May saw xQc drop down to number two after dominating the first half of the year. With the PGL Major in Antwerp setting a fire under viewers, popular Counter-Strike streamer Gaules saw an explosion in his viewership, setting a personal record for concurrent views with more than 437,000 people tuning in. Gaules’ stream was watched for nearly 29 million hours across May, compared to xQc’s 24.4 million. Asmongold, Tyler1, and Trainwrecks rounded out the rest of the top 5 individual streamers for the month, according to stats taken from Sullygnome. The 37-year old Brazilian wasn’t content merely winning in terms of viewership, he had his stream live either with fresh content or reruns for 743 of May’s 744 hours. His Twitch channel was basically a 24/7 hub of CS:GO entertainment. Gaules is not entirely new to taking xQc out for the top spot. He did the same thing back in October 2021 — during the last CS:GO Major in Stockholm, Sweden. Off of the back of the excitement surrounding the Antwerp Major, CS:GO managed to crack into the top 5 most-watched categories for the month, falling just shy of 94 million hours watched on Twitch. As the Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp trial dominated Twitch’s viewing communities, ‘Just Chatting’ retained its top spot as most-viewed category on the livestreaming platform with 274.7 million hours watched. League of Legends saw a healthy 23% increase in viewership, growing to near 160 million hours watched, linked to mid-year tournament MSI 2022 breaking viewership records. • Gas station worker sparks outrage for keeping customers’ change as a ‘tip’ – Dexerto

Gas station worker sparks outrage for keeping customers’ change as a ‘tip’ TikTok: @strawberry.shortcak33In a video posted on TikTok, a woman revealed that she keeps customers’ change as a ‘tip,’ sparking outrage on the platform. Gas prices have seen an exponential rise in 2023, soaring to their highest seasonal level in a decade. This is hitting many people’s pockets hard. A gas station worker caused some controversy on TikTok, after she revealed what she does with customers’ money after they’ve paid for their gas. She explains that she’ll often have customers put a certain amount of money on gas, for example, $20, but they won’t actually pump the full amount into their cars. “Do y’all know so many people be leaving—like, they put gas on their pump, and they don’t come back for the extra money? Like this person, it was $9.98. I was going to give them a $10 (bill), but there’s no one here. So, I guess it’s mine.” TikTok outraged by worker keeping customers’ money The video, which has gone viral, sparked a debate on the platform. One user commented that the reason why she left money behind after paying for gas was because she didn’t know she could get it back: “I didn’t know I could get that back.” “did until I just started refusing to get gas unless I can pay at the pump with my card,” another replied. “We can’t do that at Chevron,” another gas station worker commented, to which the TikToker replied, “’I’m prob not supposed to either, shhhhhh,” However, a few agreed with the video’s poster, stating: “Yup, if by the end of my shift you don’t come back… that’s on you.”

  • Gas station workers get ultimate revenge on boss after alleged affair with employees – Dexerto

Gas station workers get ultimate revenge on boss after alleged affair with employees TikTok/zzawadiiA group of gas station employees took revenge on their boss by changing the business’s sign to expose his alleged affair. Workers decided to take some inspiration from the movie Horrible Bosses by getting some payback – and a little public humiliation, to boot. A gas station owner in Washington State probably isn’t too happy with some edits made to an LED sign in front of his shop with a slew of major allegations against him. The scrolling LED sign claims that the owner not only sleeps with employees behind his wife’s back, but also steals employees’ overtime pay. To make matters worse, a video of the allegations is blowing up on TikTok. Gas station employees expose boss’s alleged affair In August, TikToker ‘zzawadii’ posted a video to her channel filming a sign at a gas station that had been modified to claim the owner had been having an affair with his employees. “The boss likes to sleep with his employees behind his wife’s back!” the sign said before transitioning to an ad for a food truck that shares the space. “The wage thief that owns this place pockets his employee’s overtime!” Since being uploaded, the video has been viewed over 3.1M times. However, many users actually applauded the sign’s marketing, so this revenge plot may have actually backfired. “Now THIS is marketing,” one said. “The normal advertising in between the tea spill is KILLING me,” another laughed. Dexerto reached out to the gas station for comment, but an employee present denied knowing anything about the sign or the owner’s alleged affair. It’s not clear if the employees responsible had been terminated, or if the owner just never found out about the sign fiasco. This isn’t the first time a gas station owner has come under fire. Just recently, Twitch streamer and OnlyFans model Amouranth revealed that customers blamed her for high gas prices at her gas stations.

  • Gary Vee reveals his insane CryptoPunk collection is worth well over $10m – Dexerto

Gary Vee reveals his insane CryptoPunk collection is worth well over $10m Larva Labs/YouTube: Gary VeeCryptoPunks are the most prestigious collection in the NFT world, and early adopters have made some life-changing amounts of money from selling theirs — but not as much as popular entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk could be making from his. Gary Vee is best known for his motivational speeches, and his investments in huge companies such as Uber and Snapchat have made him one of the most well-renowned entrepreneurs out there. This has been especially helped by his huge online presence across apps like TikTok, where he has millions of followers that look to him for advice and inspiration. He was also one of the very first big names to be speaking about NFTs, advising peers and top influencers such as Logan Paul and Banks to move on them to make big profits. As with most things Gary touches, profit is exactly what happened. He purchased a bunch of NFTs and no doubt has a collection that buyers worldwide would be envious of. One huge investment he made was into CryptoPunks, the NFT collection created by Larva Labs that was sold to Bored Ape Yacht Club creators Yuga Labs. During his appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, he spoke a bit about NFTs, the blockchain, and Web3 as a whole — and revealed that he actually owns 62 CryptoPunks. “There’s probably not an investment I have that I’m more confident in than CryptoPunks,” he said. “VeeFriends [his NFT] has to execute perfectly for 15 years to even be in the conversation with CryptoPunks. CryptoPunks sit in a collectible art framework of being the thing that established the whole thing.” Timestamp 1:50:01 CryptoPunks currently have a 61.49 ETH (~$175k) floor price at the time of writing, which is insane enough if you own just one of them — especially if you were the first to mint, as mint was free. If every one of Gary’s 62 CryptoPunks sold at the floor price, he would be looking at around a $10.85m income, but there’s no doubting he’ll own some rarer pieces worth far more than that. There’s no doubting that some NFT projects are worth more than others, but as far as Gary Vee (and the stats) are concerned, CryptoPunks are the definition of blue-chip, and he believes they’ll only go up.

  • Gas station shootout goes viral as viewers compare it to John Wick & GTA – Dexerto

Gas station shootout goes viral as viewers compare it to John Wick & GTA Twitter/Human101NatureAn over-the-top gas station shootout is taking over the internet due to its comparisons to John Wick 4, Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto. This year we’ve seen countless viral fights on planes, in restaurants and in the stands at hockey games, but this shootout may be the most ridiculous clip yet. In a video uploaded to the Human Nature Twitter channel, a group of men engaged in a dangerous shooting spree with handguns as they dove behind cover and even got hit by vehicles. The footage is so intense that it’s gone viral and has been viewed over 2.5 million times so far since being posted on March 21. Gas station shootout compared to real-life John Wick The video begins with a man in a blue mask walking around the gas station when someone off in the distance opens fire, resulting to others in the area exchanging shots. The man blue then took out his own gun and fired before ducking behind a car as others join in on the action with their own weapons drawn. Eventually, the groups retreated into black and white cars, but as they did, another man came running up, not wanting to be left behind, and called for the black car to let him in. As he did, however, the white car sped up and slammed into him hard. Unfortunately, that’s where the video ended, but fans were going wild over the crazy on-screen action. “John Wick 4 looking mid af,” one user joked. “Why they ran over their buddy like that? Boi been playin’ too much GTA,” said another. “It’s like playing CoD in real life,” remarked someone else. According to Human Nature, the shootout took place at an Atlanta gas station, but there’s no indication of when the video was filmed or if any of the men involved are facing legal consequences. In any case, for those not wanting to go to the cinema for John Wick 4, this clip will have to suffice for the time being.

  • Garrett Adelstein provides his evidence for Poker cheating claims against Robbi Jade Lew – Dexerto

Garrett Adelstein provides his evidence for Poker cheating claims against Robbi Jade Lew YouTube: WPTPoker pro Garrett Adelstein has provided his evidence against Robbi Jade Lew after claiming that the female poker pro cheated during a game at the Hustler’s Casino. On September 30, the poker world was shoved into the spotlight of controversy when Garrett Adelstein accused Robbi Jade Lew of cheating during a World Poker Tour event. The pair were head-to-head in a hand, with Garrett forcing Robbi to go all-in if she wanted to call. Despite only having a Jack and a 4, she did and won the $269k hand with the Jack high. This left Garrett furious, alleging that cheating was a foot and that he’d, at the very least, want his money back. He did, indeed, get his chips back for the hand, but Robbi has maintained her innocence throughout – challenging her fellow Poker star to a one-on-one game once she has been cleared of any wrongdoing. Though, a poker staffer was fired amid an investigation into the hand, and the controversy has continued. Now, Garrett has stacked up his own evidence against her. Garrett Adelstein presents evidence against Robbi Jade Lew & poker “cheating ring” The Arizona native took to the Two Plus Two Poker forum to drop an incredibly lengthy post with his supposed evidence against Robbi, which includes claims of her working with a “cheating ring” that includes other players. “I can again say with great confidence that Robbi was very likely part of a cheating ring of at least three members, including her, RIP (Jacob Chavez), Bryan, and potentially others,” he said. “Although I have strong suspicions of many hands that were cheated and the specific methodology and roles of each member of the cheating ring, my legal team has advised me to leave this information out of this initial report. I may choose to disclose additional information in the future if this story continues to be derailed.” Garrett claims he has video evidence of Robbi working with Chavez in the Hustler Casino games, red flags around the hand in question with both verbal and nonverbal communication. Adelstein also uses accounts from other players involved in other games that, allegedly, highlight Lew’s “willingness to lie” and that she has a history of “strange calls” in games. “Although I was able to secure my $135,000 in losses from the J4 hand, I believe that I have very likely been cheated in several other hands as well. The same is true of several other regulars on the show who, too, have likely been the victim of illegitimate hands. And we may never be reimbursed for these hands,” he added. Robbi Jade Lew has “nothing to hide” in poker cheating scandal Robbi hasn’t responded to these allegations directly, but told the LA Times that she has “nothing to hide” about everything. She is currently taking a break from social media, so it remains to be seen if she’ll answer Garrett’s supposed evidence.

He’s respected across multiple industries and spaces, but some impersonators have been going viral on TikTok with their funny impressions of him — and now he’s responded to them. Gary Vee is someone that is known by just about everyone on the internet. Whether you’re interested in big business, TikTok, startups, or NFTs, you’ve likely heard his name or seen him somewhere. He’s become as much an influencer as he is a successful entrepreneur and as such, he’s built a huge fanbase as well as his critics. With one impersonator, in particular, going viral all over TikTok, Gary watched one of his videos and reacted live — and his response might surprise you. Given Vaynerchuk’s success, you might expect him to take himself quite seriously, especially if you’re not completely familiar with him. Quite on the contrary, though, Gary loves the videos. “This guy’s a f**king beast,” he says before laughing extensively at the impression of him, watching along with Andrew Schultz and Akaash Singh on the Flagrant 2 podcast. The TikToker, NeemaNaz, does a spot-on impression, and is clearly a fan of Gary, calling him the “GOAT” in his video’s captions. Timestamp 21:54 NeemaNaz reposted the video to his own TikTok, saying that Gary “Inspired me to pump daily content these past 3 years and it’s gotten me to so many places already.” It goes without saying that NeemaNaz was delighted that Gary responded, and Gary himself is definitely a fan of the videos.

  • Gaming chair brand under fire for bad photoshop of DrLupo – Dexerto

Gaming chair brand under fire for bad photoshop of DrLupo Popular gaming retailer Newegg have been criticized after an image attached to a gaming chair on their website appeared to use a doctored photo of Twitch streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo. DrLupo is one of the biggest stars on Twitch, piggy-backing the success of Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale. He is known for his frequent collaborations with other streaming powerhouses, such as Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins. Lupo currently sits at over 3.6 million followers on Twitch, and is well known for his signature setup, involving a retro gaming headset. However, on November 30, one Twitter user noticed that Newegg may be doctoring one of his images without permission, and using it to sell chairs. Its_TyK, an editor for esports organization Team Secret, explained that he was “casually scrolling on Newegg and I stumble across a gaming chair and they faked a Dr Lupo picture for their product.” Attached was a photo of DrLupo while streaming, showing his gaming chair, monitors and headset. Read More: xQc gets jump scared during Twitch bots rant – The photograph featured on Newegg seems to be the same image, with a number of identical features, including the microphone, headset, and even the gamer’s t-shirts. The only discernible differences are the chair in use, the face of the person at the setup, and the monitor in the background being blurred out. Casually scrolling on Newegg and I stumble across a gaming chair and they faked a @DrLupo picture for their product. 🧐 pic.twitter.com/uLnhPvgQWX — Tyler (@TylerKinz) November 30, 2019 The tweet was quickly noticed by a number of Twitter users, including DrLupo himself. It currently stands at nearly 4,000 likes and over 200 retweets. DrLupo replied asking for a link to the website. Following the link now shows that the photo in question has been removed, but the posting for the chair remains. There were a number of suggestions floating around Twitter, including that the likeness to DrLupo was intentional to increase the likelihood of people buying the chair. Others merely suggested the company saw potential in the image. It is not clear whether the image belonged to Newegg or was supplied by the sellers of the chair itself. The chair comes from Homall, retailers of gaming chairs. Dexerto has reached out to Newegg for comment. Wow. Cropped the pic and then just photoshopped a chair and some dudes head on. LUL Nice try Newegg. — FedSen (@FedSen) November 30, 2019 It is obviously unconfirmed whether or not the website/suppliers were intentionally using the image of Dr Lupo, but a number of Twitter users were quick to point out the obvious similarities. No statement has been released by the website, and Dr Lupo has not made any further comment beyond his tweet.

  • Gaming Twitter explodes after LeBron James asks for gaming chair recommendations – Dexerto

Gaming Twitter explodes after LeBron James asks for gaming chair recommendations Disney / Herman MillerLeBron James, NBA superstar and international celebrity, has asked Twitter for gaming chair recommendations — and the community, including streamers like TimTheTatMan, Dream, and Tommyinnit, has come to help. James is the biggest basketball player in the world and a celebrity outside of hoops as well, given his philanthropic and business endeavors. At 36 years old, the self-titled “Washed King” is still in firm contention to win another NBA championship as possibly the league’s best player. Every fan of basketball who recognizes the aging process knows how committed LeBron is to taking care of his body and perfecting his craft. Apparently, that also extends to gaming — as the King has asked for gaming chair recommendations. With teammates like Dennis Schroder and Anthony Davis already avid gamers, and son Bronny James already inducted into FaZe Clan, LeBron’s ties to gaming are self-evident. Now that he’s trying to up the ante and get more involved, the gaming world seems very ready to guide him. Bron’s initial question was a simple one: “Who makes the best, most comfortable gaming chair?” And then the four-time NBA MVP, 17-time All-Star specified that the chair would indeed be for him (all 6’9”, 250 pounds of him). TimTheTatMan, Warzone and variety Twitch streamer extraordinaire, immediately repped his Herman Miller sponsorship and recommended the “Embody” chair. Based on the “Aeron” chair, which holds a place in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection, this is likely a quality suggestion with good ergonomics. But Minecraft YouTuber Dream took things in a different direction. Like hundreds of users replying in amazement that the NBA’s biggest star is an avid gamer, Dream simply took this as his chance to talk shop with the king of hops. Similarly, Twitch streamer and Dream SMP Minecraft creator Tommyinnit figured this was as good a time as any to tell Bron about his favorite game. Hi lebron. creator of basketball. ever heard of the hit game Minecraft. I know the guy that made it. DM me — TommyInnit (@tommyinnit) May 2, 2021 While it remains unknown if the “creator of basketball” will capitalize on Dream and Tommy’s requests to get involved in the world of Minecraft, it’s clear that the gaming world is welcoming the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. When LeBron does settle on his new gaming chair, we’ll update this piece. And who knows, maybe he’ll have joined his son on FaZe Clan by then and started streaming on Twitch. He has said he wants to play on the same team as Bronny, after all.

People across the world have rallied to support those in Australia who have lost everything to the raging fire, and now streamers and content creators are using their platform to raise awareness, and much-needed funds to help all those in need, with Australian streaming group The Click Crew leading the way in the charitable drive. The Click Crew raise $300,000 One of the biggest charitable efforts so far saw Kathleen ‘Loserfruit’ Belsten, Nathan ‘Crayator’ Ryan, and Fasffy stream non-stop for 36 hours, as they raised hundreds of thousands for those in need, and to support those who are helping rescue and attempting to put the fires out. The marathon stream was full of crazy moments, as viewers donated to see the trio and their guests take part in challenges as they hit donation goals, with Loserfruit and Fasffy sharing a kiss, and even Crayator and Lannon ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott giving each other a smooch when they hit the astounding $250,000 AUD mark. In the end, the squad were able to raise an incredible $318,511 AUD ($220,000 USD) for the relief efforts, with Loserfruit confirming that the money would be split into three equal parts, with $106,170 going to volunteer firefighters, to shelter those who have been evacuated who will need help rebuilding their homes, and to those braving the fires to help save all the Australian wildlife who have had their habitats destroyed. that’s $106,170.46 to volunteer firefighters THE HEROES out there battling as we scroll through twitter $106,170.46 to shelter people evacuated and help rebuild homes when this nightmare is over $106,170.46 to those working hard to save koalas, roos & rest of aussie wildlife — Loserfruit (@Loserfruit) January 6, 2020 Misfits release special merch YouTube collective Misfits have also gone above and beyond, releasing a special “Scuffed Fire and Rescue” long sleeve, with all profits made from the sale of the shirt going directly to the “brave souls combating the devastating fires currently destroying our home.” All of the money will go directly to Gamer Aid Austalia, who will help distribute it to firefighters from across the country who are attempting to seize control of the raging bushfires. 🔥 AUSTRALIA CURRENTLY TOO LIT 🔥 ALL PROFITS from every Fire order go towards the brave souls combating the devastating fires currently destroying our home All money goes to @GamerAidAUS who help to distribute it directly to local Firefighters 🚒 🌏 https://t.co/i8LM7xgBH3 🌏 pic.twitter.com/IR6quskhzQ — Misfits (@Misfits) January 2, 2020 Pokimane, Dr Lupo, and more call fans to arms Offline TV member Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, who is currently the largest female streamer on Twitch, used her incredible popularity to call her fanbase to action, asking her viewers to donate to help the crisis, and promising to follow back some of those who provided receipts of their financial help in a bid to encourage her viewers to lend a hand. Elsewhere, Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo hosted The Click Crew’s stream on his channel, which has almost four million followers, in an attempt to get more eyes on it and in turn, raise more money. The biggest donators of the lot – which Brett ‘Dakotaz’ Hoffman helped lead with his $21,584 AUD donation – were revealed shortly after the broadcast, with the top 100 being named and written down on a map of Australia. Dakotaz got pride of place in the middle but folks like Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, TrainwrecksTV, and Vikkstar also got a healthy mention. Fans ask game developers for help The Overwatch community requested Blizzard make charity skins for Australian heroes Junkrat and Roadhog to raise money in a similar fashion to the Pink Ribbon skin. Rainbow 6 fans have asked Ubisoft to do the same for Aussie operators Mozzie and Gridlock. The thread on Reddit has reached almost 1,000 upvotes, with users pointing out that in Mozzie’s operator story, he often helped fight fires in his own backyard. Similar threads have popped up on the Fortnite subreddit, skyrocketing to the top with requests of kangaroo, koala, or firefighter-themed skins to help raise money. Over 200 fires are active across the country, with 136 of those within the state of New South Wales alone. Thousands of people have been displaced by the fires, with over 1,500 structures burned down by the blaze. In this time of crisis, the global community has united to help those in need get back on their feet. If you’d like to help people affected by the disasters, you can donate through the Australian Red Cross or The Salvation Army.

  • “Gaming disorder” to be classified as a disease by WHO – Dexerto

“Gaming disorder” to be classified as a disease by WHO Freepik / World Health OrganizationThe World Health Organization caused a stir across the gaming community in summer 2018, after introducing a clause in their diagnostic handbook that would classify “gaming disorder” as a legitimate mental health affliction – a clause that has since passed in the 11th edition of the WHO’s International Classification of Diseases. To be officially diagnosed with “gaming disorder,” a patient must exhibit three symptoms: an inability to control gaming behavior (whether it be the duration, intensity, or frequency of play time, etc.) – placing an “increased priority” on gaming that takes precedence over other activities in life – an increased escalation of gaming despite negative consequences – The WHO state that, to be diagnosed with the disorder, “The pattern of gaming behavior may be continuous or episodic and recurrent,” and requires a 12 month period to assign an official diagnosis – that is, unless symptoms are “severe” enough to warrant a more prompt classification. Despite the WHO’s controversial new addition, many gaming organizations and even psychologists are wary of the “disorder,” with mental health experts sounding off their concerns as early as last year, when the concept was initially introduced. “You could easily take out the word ‘gaming’ and put in ‘sex’ or ‘food’ or ‘watching the World Cup,’” Oxford psychologist Andrew Przybylski said of the matter, arguing that the WHO’s “new” classification isn’t even about games, in particular – a fact that he feared could “lead to a kind of pathologization of every aspect of life.” Following the WHO’s latest ruling, gaming enthusiasts have been sounding off across the internet, with such personalities like esports analyst Rod Breslau, caster and content creator Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, and more decrying the decision via social media. “I’m collecting disability,” Breslau jokingly Tweeted of the matter. “Does that mean I can get a placard to park in the handicapped spots?” content creator ‘Anne Munition’ wrote. “Or start collecting disability checks? (I would never actually do this but honestly, ‘video game disorder?’)” Does that mean I can get a placard to park in the handicapped spots? Or start collecting disability checks? • GameStop NFT Marketplace faces backlash for minting “horrific” 9/11 image – Dexerto

GameStop NFT Marketplace faces backlash for minting “horrific” 9/11 image In early July, GameStop (GME) launched its own NFT Marketplace, but a token featuring a design eerily similar to a tragic 9/11 image has put the platform in hot water. On July 11, GME launched GameStop NFT Marketplace in its “public beta” form allowing select artists to mint their designs. While buyers can purchase NFTs minted on the platform, GameStop NFT Marketplace can’t be used to trade tokens that originated off-platform. This makes GameStop NFT a closed ecosystem of buyers and creators, but the pool of creators is much smaller than platforms like OpenSea. Artists have to apply to become a creator for GameStop, and can only sell their work if accepted. Amid a crypto crash, GameStop NFT has also faced issues with creators violating their terms of service resulting in numerous suspensions. And now, the platform is under fire for hosting an NFT that looks near identical to a photo taken on 9/11 of a man jumping to his death. The token – titled ‘Falling Man‘ – was created by GameStop NFT creator Jules as a part of the Astronaut collection. Internet users were quick to notice its stark similarities to the famous ‘The Falling Man’ photo taken by Richard Drew which captured 9/11 victim Jonathan Briley as he jumped from the World Trade Center to his death. The Jules NFT features an astronaut falling in a similar position to Briley. However, the striped background is almost an exact copy of the one seen in Drew’s photo. The two photos have been shared in tandem across Twitter with many users asking for GameStop to remove the NFT. They called the token “horrific”, “disgusting”, and “disrespectful”. And many comments were met with automated replies from the GameStop NFT account. One user claimed, “It has been up for 10 days and is still currently up despite numerous reports.” This comes after a wave of creators were suspended for making NFTs of copyrighted material. GameStop has yet to respond to the outcry from people who feel the NFT should be taken down. However, we will keep our readers updated is and when they issue a response.

  • Gaming artist paints stunning portrait of Shroud as a human aimbot – Dexerto

Gaming artist paints stunning portrait of Shroud as a human aimbot HYPERX – YouTube / Creative Arts of MPOne of the oldest running jokes in the online gaming community is that Twitch superstar Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek is a “human aimbot,” and now that joke has been turned into a work of Once a professional CS:GO player, Shroud has built a reputation for himself as one of the most dominant players of shooter and battle royale games. His uncanny ability to dominate most first-person-shooters has earned him the nickname “human aimbot,” as his hand-eye coordination is almost precise and accurate enough to look like a cheating program. In order to crystallize this concept into a visual, an artist and thumbnail designer who goes by the name ‘Sam Jones Art‘ blessed social media on April 24 with an incredibly stunning digital portrait of Shroud as a human aimbot. The portrait features the popular streamer generating what appears to the HUD of a battle royale game right in front of his face and without any sort of equipment, lending into the idea that he is more machine than man. The creation process Much like most of the other artwork that Sam has created, this new portrait of Shroud was done digitally, and the artist has posted pictures from various steps of the process of creating this remarkable work of art. The first image shows the skeleton and foundations of the image, followed by a progression from the blueprint to the actual final product. Despite the fact that the portrait was produced digitally, the effect of artifical brushstrokes on a canvas that’s not really there is good enough to fool most people into thinking this was actually painted by hand. Other paintings by Sam Jones Art Shroud’s portrait is one of many gaming-related pieces of artwork that Sam has produced over the years. His Instagram page is filled with various themed portraits, thumbnails, posters, and other designs. There is no denying the incredibly talent level and dedication of Sam, and we can only hope that he will continue to bless us with more outstanding works of art.

  • GameStop employee fired as TikTok prank backfires and viewers are furious – Dexerto

GameStop employee fired as TikTok prank backfires and viewers are furious TikTok: Seth MeiringA TikToker’s prank over a fake game has cost a GameStop employee his job and, well, viewers can’t quite believe it. Making a prank video is just about the oldest trick in the book for content creators. Some of the most outlandish and edgy pranks have launched careers across social media and they never seem to go away. So, it’s only natural that TikTok has become awash with them too. With many deciding to try and launch their own career with fresh TikTok pranks, and others just use the platform to post clips from places like YouTube and Twitter. Well, in the case of Seth Meiring, he does both, and one of his recent pranks landed a GameStop employee – dawesometk – in hot water with the company. So much so, that the man was actually fired from GameStop. TikToker’s prank gets GameStop employee fired That’s right, in Meiring’s now-deleted clip, he was in a GameStop trying to pull off one of his typical pranks – selling a fake game to the store. While his previous attempts have included things like Gregcraft – a spin on Minecraft – this one was called “Cousin Kisser: The Game.” Whilst inside the store, the TikToker had an interaction with another customer, a woman, who didn’t take kindly to him filming in the store. She stood in front of the camera at one point before they got into a bit of an argument. As the woman exited the store, Seth remarked to the former GameStop employee in question that she had to be a “cousin kisser” herself. He laughed at that and the whole situation ultimately cost him his job with the company. The TikToker has since set up a GoFundMe to help the former GameStop worker but, as of writing, has raised $774 of the $1000 goal. That obviously isn’t even close to a monthly salary. Plenty of viewers have expressed their dismay about the amount trying to be raised too. “literally you owe this man at least 2 months pay,” said one. “1k is less than one month rent, that’s actually crazy,” added another. Dawesome has yet to update viewers beyond his original video which confirmed he got fired from his job. So, it remains to be seen what’ll happen next.

  • GameStop cancels TikTok contest after anger over 10 hours overtime prize – Dexerto

GameStop cancels TikTok contest after anger over 10 hours overtime prize Blizzard Entertainment/TikTokUPDATE November 5, 2020: GameStop has apparently cancelled the upcoming TikTok competition. According to The Gamer, the listing for the contest has been removed from the GameStop employee website, although the company has yet to officially announce its cancellation. While no official reason has yet to be given, one has to imagine it was due to the enormous backlash GameStop created, as many viewed the competition as distasteful. Original story follows… Video game retailer GameStop has announced a new TikTok contest for employees, and while that might not seem very odd, the fact that one of the prizes seems to be 10 hours of extra work during one of the biggest shopping weeks of the year certainly is. TikTok, whether you love it or hate it, is the latest social media trend sweeping the globe. Because of its popularity, it’s now getting embraced by every company, brand, and store you can think of. This apparently includes GameStop, who have announced a new TikTok dance challenge for employees. Basically, workers have to record a video, then the submissions will be voted on by other staff members, with the winner taking home a number of winnings. Rewards include an Amazon Echo 8, Echo Auto, and a $100 VISA gift card – pretty standard contest fare. However, it’s the last prize that’s turning some heads: “10 additional labor hours to use during Black Friday week.” A lot of people took this to mean that the winner would earn an extra shift, and if you think this sounds like a bit of a lame prize, you’re not alone, as the company has been getting roasted for it all over Twitter. “They deserve to go out of business,” one user wrote. “Gamestop is so unbelievably pathetically evil,” another user added. “Like it’s the most boring kind of evil.” But, others pointed out that the “10 additional labor hours” could just be extra time employees can tack on to their paychecks, which would make this a pretty decent prize instead. Because who wouldn’t want to get paid for not working? It’s also worth considering that as we head into the holiday season, one or two Gamestop employees might be looking for extra hours to make a bit more money, which would make this prize, especially if you don’t have to work at all, a very worthwhile winning indeed.

  • GameStop employee charged after fatally shooting customer stealing Pokemon cards – Dexerto

GameStop employee charged after fatally shooting customer stealing Pokemon cards Screenshot/local10Police have arrested a Florida man who works at GameStop after allegedly pulling a gun on a shoplifter stealing Pokemon cards and fatally shooting him. It’s not uncommon to see violence and theft at retail stores in 2023, but a recent incident at a Florida GameStop shows why sometimes it’s better when employees just don’t get involved. On October 17, an employee at a Pembroke Pines GameStop in Miami took matters into his own hands after a brutal altercation with a customer attempting to shoplift Pokemon cards became fatal. According to Pembroke Pines Police, at 8:16 on Tuesday, 33-year-old Derrick Guerrero confronted a man he observed shoplifting, resulting in the customer running to the store’s entrance with stolen merchandise. GameStop employee accused of shooting shoplifting Florida man As the shoplifter headed to the exit, Guerrero pulled a concealed firearm from his waistband and fired a single shot, hitting the man in the torso. It’s not clear why the GameStop employee felt inclined to shoot the customer or if the two knew each other prior to the incident. The shoplifter, who police note never threatened Guerrero or displayed a weapon of his own, was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries where he died. “Our officers have taken 33-year-old Derrick Guerrero into custody for Manslaughter when it was determined that he shot the adult male victim after observing him shoplifting from the business,” Pembroke Pines Police said. This isn’t the first time that a theft like this has resulted in a fatal shooting. Back in 2022, men accused of stealing pizza and Pokemon cards from a Florida Target were shot at by police with one of them dying.

Gamers think Miss Ukraine’s “Warrior of Light” outfit is a Warhammer cosplay Instagram: Miss UkraineMiss Ukraine’s recent outfit is getting major attention from the gaming community, with many commenting on how the design resembles many popular gaming franchises such as Warhammer 40k. During the Miss Universe pageant – which took place in New Orleans – Ukraine’s Viktoria Apanasenko wowed that crowd by unveiling her “Warrior of Light” costume. Gamers were quick to post the outfit on Reddit, with the comment sections filled with praise and awe at how the costume looks like something straight out of a video game. One user writing “turns out Saint Celestine manifests in the Ukraine after she makes it out of the warp.” Saint Celestine is a popular character from the Warhammer 40K series. Others chose to compare the Ukrainian’s outfit to the Overwatch franchise. Another Reddit user joking that the “new mercy skin just dropped” in response to seeing the outfit design. What Miss Ukraine’s outfit actually symbolizes And while gamers were quick to point out how Miss Ukraine’s design seems to be inspired by the likes of Warhammer or Overwatch, Apanasenko clothing choice actually holds a much deeper meaning. An Instagram post on Miss Ukraine’s page said: “The “Warrior of Light” costume symbolises our nation’s fight against darkness. Like Archangel Michael, who defends Ukraine with a sword, it protects us. Viktoriia has a weapon in her hands, her body is covered in armour, and at the same time, she carries light through the darkness that came to our peaceful lands with the aggressor.” The post then added: “The monolithic jumpsuit symbolises armour and wraps Victoria like a second skin. The white dress consists of a stylization of a vyshyvanka with puffy sleeves and a skirt that has more than 10 meters of fabric to it. The headwear is decorated with spikelets, which are traditional in Ukraine. Finally, the explanation goes on to reflect on how “symbolic wings are burned in battle, framed in blue and gold armour in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, and decorated with various mirror ornaments, opened for the decisive battle. The costume was created in Ukraine in four months in extreme conditions, to the sound of sirens, without electricity, and by candlelight.” For all the latest entertainment news and updates, be sure to check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

A TikTok user by the name of ‘lilbentleyvert’ hit the “For You” page (also known as the FYP) with multicolored lighting, some winks, and a classic tongue-out pose. She had a simple question: “Dudes with zero h**s and dry a** phones, wyd rn?” While some guys may not want to be known for their absence of female romantic companions nor their barren cellular messaging services, TikTok’s gamers are apparently a proud people. Also, if Yuno’s story is to be believed his mom may have been having an especially tough day. Some Reddit users condemned the attack while others shared their own stories of parental PC pulverization. With one saying “I had the sort of mom who did these things. Haven’t talked to her since 2015 and my life has been 90% less stressful ever since.” Another joked about the shortage of graphic card stock saying, “No wonder RTX’s are rare to find, they keep getting smashed by moms.” Although many users simply wished Yuno well and even expressed concern for his and his mom’s wellbeing. Yuno may now wish to build a new PC, but if so, let’s hope he keeps it far away from any sledgehammers.

It’s not every day that your boss ends up adding you on Xbox, but for one TikToker, it seems like his decision to accept the request had some major consequences. In a wild TikTok, the user, who appears to go by Brandon, shared an email from his boss explaining that he had been terminated from a company. “So I got fired from my job today,” he said. “Don’t add random people on Xbox, because apparently bosses do that now and I work from home, I play Xbox, you know what I mean?” TikTokers accuse Xbox firing of being fake In a follow-up video, the user claimed that he had no idea what his boss’s gamer tag is, but segued into it being “all good” because he was hiring a career coach to help him find a new job soon and advertised a placement site. Amusingly, as other TikTokers pointed out, both videos were uploaded to an account called ‘placementco’ and accused the clips of being fake. “When you realize this is a really clever ad for this company,” one wrote, prompting ‘placementco’ to reply, “What you mean? I don’t even work for Placement.” “You got fired because bosses friend people on Xbox now?” another asked. “Bruh I had 14 kills in a Fortnite solo match when I got the email…. Got the dub though,” the uploader replied with a trophy emoji. In an email to The Daily Dot, a Placement spokesperson explained that the account features, “fictional stories based on real-life scenarios our clients have experienced,” but noted that this particular video “should be taken more as a parable and less as an auto-biographical account.” “Of course, Placement recommends everybody work during the expected hours agreed upon with their company,” the spokesperson continued. “However, if an employee takes a break by playing Xbox, browsing Twitter, etc. they should be aware that their employers might see this activity and factor it into a performance conversation.” While the truth behind the Xbox firing remains unclear, the moral of story remains one that gamers should probably still take at face value: don’t go adding accounts when you don’t know who they belong to.

  • Game store owner mortified after finding customer’s naughty photos on used Nintendo DS – Dexerto

Game store owner mortified after finding customer’s naughty photos on used Nintendo DS Twitch/DSKoopaThe owner of Pink Gorilla Games Cody Spencer, otherwise known as his Twitch monicker ‘dskoopa’ revealed the awkward moment where a customer trading in their Nintendo DS forgot to delete very private photos off it first. Used gaming stores are a great place to find relics from the past such as Atari 2600s and Sega Saturns, but they’re also known for giving owners of old consoles a place to trade them in and get some cash. However, when trading in old video game systems, it’s normally a good idea to perform a factory reset beforehand, because as one gamer can now testify, there can be some pretty embarrassing repercussions if you don’t. During a recent Twitch stream, dskoopa revealed that a customer trading in their Nintendo DS didn’t check what files they had on it when they went to trade it in. It was only while examining the handheld with the client that some very private photos were discovered. Customer tries trading in Nintendo DS with nude photos While trying to keep a straight face, dskoopa explained how he responded after seeing the photos and how the whole transaction played out. “There’s a customer trading in a DSi with us and we’re going through testing all the features when we find a photo album and there’s just a picture of a dong right there,” Spencer revealed to his viewers. However, instead of making the customer feel bad, he and the rest of the store tried to remain professional despite having just seen a photo of the man’s nether region. “Did we embarrass him? Absolutely not. We didn’t go ‘hey bud, I think you forget your penis on this DS here. Did you forget about this photo? Did you want us to email this to you?’” Hopefully, this story serves as a good lesson for anyone who ever trades in used hardware: be sure to delete everything or factory reset your console first!

  • Game of Thrones showrunners Benioff & Weiss reveal new sci-fi Netflix show – Dexerto

Game of Thrones showrunners Benioff & Weiss reveal new sci-fi Netflix show HBOShowrunners behind HBO’s renowned Game of Thrones adaptation, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have finally unveiled their next major project; the duo will be tackling an all-new sci-fi series at Netflix. While Game of Thrones came to an end with a controversial end with its eighth season in 2019, its showrunners have remained somewhat out of the spotlight ever since. Benioff and Weiss inked a major deal with Disney to establish a new trilogy in the Star Wars universe, though that deal shortly fell through. As production continues on an assortment of spinoffs in the George R.R. Martin universe, the original series showrunners haven’t been attached. Their next project had remained shrouded in mystery until the veil was lifted on October 1. The duo will be taking on an adaptation of another set of novels this time, jumping into the realm of science fiction. The $200m deal with Netflix is finally gaining momentum; here’s what we know about their first creation for the streaming juggernaut. Together, Benioff and Weiss will be harnessing their efforts to create a new live-action series. Their upcoming project will be based around Hugo award-winning ‘The Three-Body Problem’ from Chinese author Liu Cixin. The sci-fi novel begins in the 1960s but jumps through many points in time to deal with an “extinction-level threat” to humanity. “Liu Cixin’s trilogy is the most ambitious science-fiction series we’ve read,” the former Game of Thrones showrunners said. “We look forward to spending the next years of our lives bringing this to life for audiences around the world.” First published in 2006, The Three-Body Problem is part one of a hugely-popular sci-fi trilogy. The string of releases reached their conclusion in 2010 with ‘Death’s End.’ Benioff and Weiss are set to adapt all three novels. Cixin and the English translator for the series, Ken Liu, will both be serving as consulting producers for the Netflix adaptation. “It is a great honor as an author to see this unique sci-fi concept travel and gain fandom across the globe,” Cixin said. “I am excited for new and existing fans all over the world to discover the story.” There’s no telling just how far off we are from our first glimpse of the adaptation. The deal has only just been finalized, with pre-production still a ways off. Therefore, it could be a few years until fans are treated to the first footage from the upcoming project. Coming straight from Game of Thrones to a sprawling sci-fi trilogy with $200m behind them, it’s safe to assume expectations will be off the charts. Keep your eyes peeled as more details and casting announcements are made public.

  • Game of Thrones’ The Mountain gives hilarious tip on how to “get ladies” – Dexerto

Game of Thrones’ The Mountain gives hilarious tip on how to “get ladies” Twitch/hafthorjulius/PixabayIcelandic actor, strongman, and Twitch streamer Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, best known for playing The Mountain on Game of Thrones, shared a unique, yet amusing, strategy for picking up women during a June 10 Twitch broadcast. The 31-year-old has been streaming since March of 2020 and has gained nearly 135,000 followers on that platform, partly due to his popularity on the HBO show but also how he interacts with chat. During his June 10 stream, the strongman was reading a comment from a viewer claiming that fellow streamer Knut really needed his help on how to “get the ladies.” Being a nice guy, the former professional basketball player decided to help out. “So if you want to get the ladies, just remember, show them your chest muscles,” he explained while flexing for the camera. “If they see this, they’re going to jump on you.” After his brief demonstration, the streamer hyped up the move as having a high success rate. “Try it next time and I promise you, it will not fail!” he exclaimed, guaranteeing that the tip would work. Just then, his wife, Kelsey Henson, asked about the advice and if it was sound. “I’m just teaching him about how to get the ladies!” Björnsson laughed. “And what did you say?” she quipped back. “Move the chest muscles. Right, left, right, left, left, right, left, right,” he explained. “And if you do that they will be very impressed.” While his wife didn’t seem super impressed with the tip, the strongman wasn’t quick to give up hope in the technique and ended the discussion with the last word: “What? It worked on you!” Even if the trick doesn’t end up working for his viewers, at least The Mountain can take comfort in knowing it paid dividends when he needed it to in his own life. Besides, the Game of Thrones actor has other things to worry about, such as his upcoming bout against rival Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall, which many are already touting as “the world’s heavest boxing match.”

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke gets insulted by TV CEO Patrick Delany Wikimedia Commons: Sachyn MitalGame of Thrones star Emilie Clarke was recently insulted by Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany, at the premiere of House of the Dragon. Earlier this week, the CEO of Foxtel made insulting remarks about the actress at the event in Sydney, ahead of a screening of the first episode of Game of Thrones‘ prequel series House of the Dragon. While delivering a speech, he told the media his reaction when he first started watching GoT, which stars Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen. “I was like, ‘What’s this show with the dumpy-looking girl who walks into the flames?’” he jokingly said. However, his attempt at a joke received a cold reaction from the audience who was at the premiere. One attendee told Crikey: “It felt like he was expecting us to laugh along, but people in the room were obviously shocked by it.” Another attendee, film critic Travis Johnson, mirrored that statement, as he tweeted: “Yeah, I was there for this, and turned to my mate for clarification as I simply didn’t believe someone would say that on mic.” Foxtel Group apologizes to Emilia Clarke for insulting remarks A spokesperson for Foxtel Group apologized on Patrick Delany’s behalf, in a statement issued shortly after the incident on Wednesday. “The Foxtel Group apologizes if his remarks were misunderstood and caused any offence,” they stated. “The aim was to convey that for him, Games of Thrones was something very different for television in 2011 and that Emilia Clarke went from relatively unknown to one of the most recognised and most-loved actors in television and film,” the statement read. The actress has yet to comment on the remarks aimed at her. You can watch the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon on August 21, 2022, with the first episode premiering on HBO and HBO Max at 9 PM ET (6 PM PT).

  • Game of Thrones creators unveil new Netflix period drama: Death by Lightning – Dexerto

Game of Thrones creators unveil new Netflix period drama: Death by Lightning HBOThe next big project for Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff, Dan Weiss & Bernie Caulfield, is set to be a period drama. “Death by Lightning” tells the story of former US President James Garfield and his assassination. David Benioff and Dan Weiss took the world by storm with Game of Thrones and saw reactions from both the highs and the lows of passionate fandom over the show’s award-winning eight season run. But Benoiff and Weissweren’t just sitting on their laurels ever since it wrapped. In the wake of the cancellation of a planned project with Disney, the brains behind Game of Thrones kept busy with the upcoming Neflix series, Three Body Problem, scheduled to hit screens on March 21. Now, they’ve revealed their next project, and it’s a big departure from their prior body of work. The new show, Death by Lightning, is based on the book Destiny of the Republic, by Candice Miller. The show tells the true story of President James Garfield, and his relationship with the man who would become his assassin, Charles Guiteau. According to Netflix, the series “brings to life the epic and stranger-than-fiction true story of James Garfield, reluctant 20th president of the United States, and his greatest admirer Charles Guiteau — the man who would come to kill him.” Succession’s Matthew Macfayden is set to star as admirer-turned-assassin, Charles Guiteau. While Michael Shannon will play President Garfield. Screenwriter, Mike Makowsky serves as both creator and writer on Death by Lightning. Makowsky is best known for best known for the hit crime dramedy, Bad Education, starring Hugh Jackman and Ray Romano. The series will be directed by Matt Ross, whose previous work on Captain Fantastic has been widely praised too. While a period piece set in the twentieth century marks a big shift from fantasy and sci-fi, the story of James Garfield is certainly equal parts strange and impressive. However Weiss and Benioff approach this piece of history, it’s sure to be compelling TV.

  • Game Critic TotalBiscuit Retires Following Unsuccessful Cancer Treatment – Dexerto

Game Critic TotalBiscuit Retires Following Unsuccessful Cancer Treatment One of the gaming industry’s longest serving members has made the decision to step away from game criticism after his cancer treatment proved to be unsuccessful. John ‘TotalBiscuit’ Bain has been one of the most recognizable personalities in the gaming community for a number of years but ongoing health issues have made him decide to step away from his role in the spotlight. The 46 year old was diagnosed with cancer back in 2014 and has been fighting it ever since but he announced in a recent update that his oncologist has told him that his body has now become “resistant to all forms” of chemotherapy. He went on to explain that his “liver is failing and its effectiveness has lowered past the point where the clinical trials I had been offered would take me on” and that this is causing him chronic pain. TotalBiscuit stated that he is now coming to terms with the fact that he doesn’t have long left and that he now needs to focus on “getting my quality-of-life to as good a standard as possible”. With that said, he has made the decision to retire from his career as a games critic, citing a lack of clear thoughts due to medication and an unreliable schedule making the job too stressful and unsatisfactory compared to previous years. This doesn’t mean that he will disappearing from your screens entirely, though, as he will continue to produce some content on YouTube and Twitch with his wife: “Does that mean I’m done with Youtube and Twitch? Nope, blokes gotta make a living. I have a family to consider and there’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to what I leave them when I go out kicking and screaming. I want to spend the rest of my time with the two things I love the most, my family and my work. I’m transitioning my Youtube and Twitch work over to gameplay with my wife.” His popular podcast, Co-optional, will also be sticking around with a slightly shorter format of around two hours per episode. TotalBiscuit revealed that this is likely to be his last health update “unless some miracle happens or we do indeed find a trial” and asked fans not to speculate about how long he has left. We would like to wish TotalBiscuit the best and hope that he can find some comfort in the coming months.

  • Game Grumps’ Dan Avidan responds to grooming allegations – Dexerto

Game Grumps’ Dan Avidan responds to grooming allegations YouTube: Game GrumpsOnline celebrity Daniel Avidan, of Game Grumps and Ninja Sex Party fame, was accused of grooming young fans in a Reddit thread, which quickly became a hot debate among fans – and which Avidan claims is “untrue.” UPDATE 3/26/2021: Avidan has since responded to the allegations in a statement to Newsweek, where he claimed that any sexual interactions that took place with the fan in question occurred when she was of age, and that any “predatory” behavior outlined by the Reddit post was untrue. “I stand by the fact that any interactions that took place of a sexual nature with the person in question were done so when she was 22 years old and we were both consenting adults,” Avidan stated. “To claim I engaged in any predatory behavior is simply untrue. I have made mistakes in the past, and I apologize if my actions or words ever made anyone upset, but those mistakes were never ill-intentioned, exploitative or illegal in any capacity.” The user who posted the Reddit thread to Twitter has since apologized. Original story is as follows: Daniel Avidan, age 42, has been a long-term presence on the Game Grumps channel, where he plays through video games and gives commentary with animator and fellow YouTuber Arin Hanson. The two have been through many years of Game Grumps together after the exit of JonTron in 2013. Avidan’s comedy band, Ninja Sex Party, has also seen massive success alongside his work with Game Grumps over the years. However, on March 21, a slew of accusations against the singer/YouTuber came to light, as posted in a viral Reddit thread. The thread contains links to several videos and text message conversations between Avidan and a purportedly younger fan. View this post on Instagram The reported victim claimed that she began texting Dan while she was underage, and as she came of age, their conversations began to turn toward a sexual nature. This allegedly led to them meeting up at a Game Grumps live show, where sexual activity purportedly occurred. A few weeks later, the victim claimed that all contact with Avidan ceased completely. This, understandably, led to a slew of outrage and emotional reactions from fans, who took to social media to express their shock and sadness in wake of the shared screenshots and videos. There has been a fair amount of pushback against the accusations though, with some claiming that what happened between Avidan and the alleged victim was not grooming at all. Arguments against the claims boil down to screenshot evidence apparently showing that no sexual conversations happened while the victim was underage, and it wasn’t until they were 22 years old that the purported sexual activity and ghosting happened. https://twitter.com/weimerzeimer/status/1373873618631942145?s=20 Still, more people continued to argue that even if age wasn’t technically a factor, it was still a questionable interaction between a popular content creator and a fan. If you’re affected by the Game Grumps news circulating, please don’t react to the situation by picking some other youtube gamer to pour all your affection and trust into because you’re gonna keep repeating the same problems with placing people you don’t fucking know on pedestals. — mary @ EAT TRASH, BEAT TRASH (@shinjaninja) March 21, 2021 Stay tuned to Dexerto for more on this breaking story.

Game localizer tells man to “call police” on Japanese salon for refusing English-speakers Twitter / Unsplash.com: Adam WingerA video game localizer is coming under fire after telling a man to “call the police” on a Japanese hair salon for refusing service to English-speaking customers. A Japan-based video game localizer is facing backlash online after urging a man to call law enforcement on a Japanese hair salon. The drama kicked off on June 25, when a Twitter user based in Tokyo, Japan posted a photo of a sign he’d encountered at a hair salon. “Sorry, we only speak Japanese!” the sign reads. “Therefore, we aren’t able to understand your order properly. Since we can’t understand what you’re saying, we aren’t able to cut your hair.” “As professionals, we want to make sure our customers are satisfied,” the sign continues. “This is our shop’s rule that we decided as a team. Thank you for understanding.” Game localizer encourages man to “call police” on Japanese hair salon While public opinion was largely split regarding the sign, one user’s response has taken social media by storm. A video game localizer living in Japan urged the poster to call local authorities and even sue the salon over the ordeal, alleging possible “racial discrimination” from the business. “Just call the police,” they wrote. “Japan is part of international treaties against racial discrimination and has several cases of shops being sued by foreign [customers.] Just politely call the police and sue the shop due to psychological distress.” Just call the police. — Daniel Lima リマ ダニエル 🇯🇵🇧🇷 (@limadaniel58) June 25, 2023 Japan is part of international treaties against racial discrimination and has several cases of shops being sued by foreign costumers. During the 2022 Game Awards, an interruption during the Game of the Year announcement turned into a viral moment during the ceremony. After Elden Ring was awarded Game of the Year, a young spectator appeared on the stage, gate-crashing the acceptance speeches and dedicating the Award to former President Bill Clinton in a moment that exploded across social media. “I would like to dedicate this award to my reformed Orthodox Rabbi, Bill Clinton, thank you, everybody,” the person said, before getting escorted off stage by security and later arrested. While the moment – and the person responsible for the disruption – had seemingly fizzled away from the attention of the gaming and streaming community, the stage crasher has once again appeared on screens. We are here to protest against the landlords and the unions.” He then asks Hasan if they can do a “quick shake on the hand, look we love landlords.” “We love landlords, we love them a lot. We’re all against unions. They’re not fair to the corporate companies. This is a crazy protest.” A friend then appears alongside the stage crasher., showing he wasn’t alone. The person is even wearing the same outfit as what they wore back during the awards. You’re not with us, you’re not with us but I’ve definitely seen you before. Nah, nah, nah, you’re not with us. Yeah, he’s recording, you’re recording you’re not with us. This time, he tried disguising himself by wearing a mask and keeping his hood up. “Can I get a quick photo?” he asked Kai, to which the streamer agreed at first, thinking it was a fan. “Stop doing that bro,” Kai yelled after the stream sniper revealed himself. “You keep doing that bro, like you not low. Gambling enters top 10 most-watched Twitch categories as slots overtake Warzone TwitchThe Twitch gambling meta has officially found its way into the top ten most-watched categories on the platform, with even more hours watched than Warzone. Gambling on Twitch has proven to be a controversial topic with many, such as Pokimane, speaking out against top content creators like Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel spending thousands of dollars playing slots. Despite criticism, and even a petition to ban gambling on Twitch, the popularity of the category has only continued to rise and it’s even managed to beat out some of the top streamed games. According to data from Rainmaker.gg, StreamElements’ analytics partner, slots have overtaken the hit battle royale Call of Duty Warzone by a large margin. Slots officially overtake Warzone in Twitch viewership The report states that in May of 2022, viewers watched 39 million hours of slots on Twitch. That’s 6 million more than Warzone which had 33M last month. The gambling category now finds itself as the 9th most-watched category, but still a ways behind 8th place DOTA 2 and Fortnite with 48M and 51M hours watched respectively. At the very top, Just Chatting reigns supreme with 271 million hours watched in the month of May, dwarfing second-place League of Legends by over 100 million. Slots’ success was also in part due to popular streamer Trainwreck who had the most hours watched on the site after he spent nearly 300 hours broadcasting his gambling in May. It will be interesting to see if slots will continue to rise or if upcoming games can dethrone the controversial category and make their way into the top 10 for June.

The video, which has gotten over 2.3 million views, was uploaded by JustinTheLightGuy, shows her clip playing on a video screen on a house while some of her main quotes also light up a tree next to it. Her ‘844’ employee number and goodbye both pop up on the tree before the light show comes to a big ending. “Imagine this being the first time you’ve ever been introduced to Gail Lewis. This was my experience,” commented one baffled viewer. “I hope these Gail Lewis videos live on,” another said. Another viewer pointed that some of the candy canes on the front lawn even look like the letter G because of how the video has been filmed. “This has gone way too far and I love it,” commented another. Even though it’s been a month since she first grabbed the internet’s attention, it looks like Gail’s fame isn’t dying down anytime soon. But, it’ll be hard to top this one.

  • Gabi DeMartino deletes TikTok after backlash over ‘Income Challenge’ – Dexerto

Gabi DeMartino deletes TikTok after backlash over ‘Income Challenge’ YouTube: Gabi DeMartinoGabi DeMartino has come under fire for a “tone deaf” take on the ‘BFF Income Challenge’ sweeping TikTok, which caused the YouTube star to disable the video in question, and apologize for her “extremely insensitive” upload. TikTok’s latest trend is sharing how much you spend on groceries, rent, and other expenses alongside your best friend to compare. It’s usually all fun and games, as the two parties see a $50-100 difference in their overall weekly spending. DeMartino has come under fire for her version of the viral TikTok trend, however, after the popular YouTuber paired up with her friend Alex Byrd on Sep. 20. The gap was soon revealed: Byrd, who said she works as a secretary, said she spends “like $100 a week.” In comparison, DeMartino spends “around $9,000.” https://twitter.com/defnoodles/status/1307749891486019585 The YouTuber was widely criticized for her video. Many suggested she was “simply showing off,” or trying to make her friend feel bad. Other fans claimed she was “tone deaf” and should have avoided doing the viral challenge in the first place. Gabi DeMartino, who boasts 1.3 million followers on the platform, temporarily disabled her profile after the backlash. She soon brought it back online, but had removed the ‘Income Challenge’ video from her timeline completely. “Hey guys, I’d like to say I’m sorry for my Income Challenge video I made with my friend Alex. It was extremely insensitive,” Gabi wrote on TikTok soon after. “For those who didn’t see it, I was shopping with my best friend and she’s been teaching me how to budget. I thought it would be interesting to display how income doesn’t matter when it comes to friends. A healthy female relationship-type video. “We made the TikTok on the spot during our shopping spree so we didn’t put much thought into it, and I wish I had. The way it was delivered was horrible. “I’m sorry I hurt you guys, and Alex, I’m sorry to you as well even though you said you weren’t bothered. You live and you learn. I’m very, very sorry!” The YouTube glamor star also released another TikTok soon after, providing “justification” for her $9,000 weekly spending sum revealed in the original clip. “The $9,000 I spend each week isn’t on shopping. I have multiple businesses, and I’m part of a YouTube channel. We have a film house we have to pay rent for, we have producers, editors… I employ almost all my friends,” she said in her follow-up. “I’m helping my best friend buy her first house. I paid multiple rents for fans during the pandemic… and I have a fundraiser going on right now.” It’s also worth noting DeMartino’s original claim — that Alex was “fine” with the video — did seem true. In the opening seconds of the ‘challenge’ clip, Alex adds a disclaimer that she’s “not bothered in any way.” She added it’s “really funny.” Byrd appears in DeMartino’s original series ‘Blood Queens,’ which streams on YouTube. She appeared as a featured extra in the show’s second season, before being promoted to a series regular in ‘Blood Queens Coven’ last year.

  • Gabbie Hanna under fire for allegedly “stalking” Bo Burnham in resurfaced video – Dexerto

Gabbie Hanna under fire for allegedly “stalking” Bo Burnham in resurfaced video YouTube: The Gabbie ShowYouTube star Gabbie Hanna continues to face backlash after critics re-discovered an older video where the influencer claimed she faked a relationship with Viner-turned-comedian Bo Burnham. Bo Burnham’s new Netflix comedy special has the entire internet talking, and it’s certainly inspiring to see his success. Rising to prominence through humorous content on platforms like Vine and YouTube, Burnham went on to record specials with Comedy Central and even wrote and directed his own movie, Eighth Grade. Now, he’s smashed yet another major milestone by scoring a Netflix special, ‘Inside’ — but this has also brought up an interesting element of his past that wasn’t actually real. Amid the ongoing drama surrounding Gabbie Hanna, some netizens re-discovered a video she uploaded in October 2014, which shows the influencer talking about her most “embarrassing secrets.” One of these secrets included faking a romantic relationship with Bo Burnham. Hanna created a “fake Facebook account” posing as Bo Burnham, photoshopped herself into a picture with him and set it as the profile picture, and even “accepted” a relationship request from the phony account to her personal profile. Read More: Where to buy Nelk Boys Happy Dad Seltzer – “I was a bit of a fangirl,” Hanna claimed. “And by fangirl, I mean ‘stalker.’ I would write on his Facebook wall all the time, and he would answer me, and I would Tweet at him, and he would answer my Tweets. I was really creepy.” “I told everybody that it was real,” she said of her fake Facebook account. “I was so dedicated to that lie, and I was telling myself the whole time that it was like a joke and I was being funny, but lowkey, I was living this really creepy fantasy.” That’s not all; someone even updated Burnham’s Wikipedia article to state that he and Hanna were dating as the Facebook account became more and more believable. Hanna then said that she went to a comedy show and took a photo with Burnham (as well as giving him her number, written on a fortune cookie) which she used to replace her old photoshopped profile picture. (Topic begins at 1:44) While Burnham never called her, the incident hasn’t remained an embarrassing secret: The resurfaced video has sparked a slew of outrage online, with many accusing Hanna of making Burnham into the highly private individual he is today due to her antics. Burnham himself has yet to comment on the video at the time of writing.

Hannah spoke out on the issue in a long string of tweets on June 14 and 15, alleging that her own videos weren’t showing up on YouTube after searching for her name in Google’s incognito mode. Instead, she — and several other fans — were reportedly met with videos created by commentary channels that are critical of the star content creator, as shown by a slew of screen recordings taken by viewers. https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1272565669154836490?s=20 That’s not all; Hannah also accused YouTube of removing views from her channel and even shadow-banning her from the platform, with some fans showing that they had been purportedly unsubscribed and could not re-subscribe when they tried to do so. She also claimed to have received death threats at her home, seemingly caused by her reactions to the many videos criticizing her online that are showing up in place of her own content. https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1272353004843225088?s=20 “You guys know this isn’t internet drama for me right?” she wrote. “You realize it’s me getting handwritten death threats to my home address, right?” Hannah’s statement follows drama with ex-best friend Jessi Smiles, who accused the star of a string of offenses in a viral video in November 2019, which was also referenced in Gabbie’s string of Tweets. https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1272584123987619841?s=20 Luckily, it seems that YouTube is working with Hanna to rectify the problem, as she revealed on June 15, clarifying that the issue was a matter of “slander and defamation.” “I’m actually heavily in contact with YouTube, and they’re working to correct the problem,” she said in response to a fan. “Happily working together because they recognize it’s not right, so this is actually more slander and defamation.” Hanna also claimed to have evidence of YouTube suppressing her on the platform, expressing relief that she wasn’t “crazy” for her suspicions about the site. https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1272740605882322946?s=20 https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1273013616493510656?s=20 Hanna’s alleged “shadow ban” follows YouTuber Meghan Rienks’ long-running issue with the platform from earlier this year, where her secondary channel had been hacked and sold for $500, despite her numerous attempts to retrieve both her page and content. Luckily, Rienks’ channel was restored (minus her backlog of old videos) and it seems that Hannah’s problems with the site are being looked into, shining a bright spot of positivity on an otherwise deeply concerning affair.

This result in several public instances of drama over the years, which came to a head on June 7, when Jessi said via Twitter that Gabbie had spoken with Curtis on “at least three separate occasions,” and released parts of a phone call with the YouTuber from 2020. Gabbie and I had a phone call last summer. I never planned to release it. In fact, there’s nothing I want more than to never talk or think about Gabbie ever again. But her continued lying about my trauma has officially broken me and I don’t know what else to do. pic.twitter.com/RLwPjYmcOS — Jessi Smiles (@jessismiles__) June 7, 2021 On July 1, Gabbie uploaded a YouTube video titled ‘About The 3 Hour Jessi Smiles Phone Call,’ in which she responded to the leaked footage, saying “Jessi has been targeting and attacking [her] online since 2015.” Alongside her video she included a link to the full 3-hour phone call, saying she asked her editor to censor names, and remove a “traumatizing and humiliating” story that she didn’t want in the public eye. When speaking about a BuzzFeed article in which she spoke about Jessi, Gabbie explained: “I have a career in entertainment, I do press, I am allowed to talk about my life. I was asked about her because since 2015 Jessie has made it her mission to align me with her rapist, and finally in 2019 it worked, and that’s been my life ever since,” she continued. She later went on to say, “I’m saying this with my whole f**king chest, and I’m past the point of needing or wanting people to believe me, I’m saying it for me. This is the truth. Jessi is my abuser.” Gabbie claimed that since 2015 she has been the victim of “narcissistic abuse, blackmail, harassment, stalking, slander, smear campaigns, gaslighting, threats of physical violence, and online harassment.” However, her video has been met with a largely negative response. Commenters called her claims “disgusting” and “delusional,” and called her out for portraying herself as the victim. Others wondered by the YouTuber isn’t taking a step back from the drama. However, not everyone was a fan of her new upload. “Can she un-comeback please,” one user wrote on Instagram, another saying, “girl, no one asked for this.” It was also compared to a “budget Sia music video,” with some joking that the video hadn’t been edited. Despite the backlash, there were still some fans who liked the track and the accompanying video, describing it as “beautiful and raw.” https://twitter.com/Samanth73445038/status/1451790024492519424 It looks like Gabbie isn’t done with uploading online for good, though some fans speculate that she’ll be focusing more on her music career now.

  • Gabbie Hanna demands “accountability” for supposed Bebe Rhexa music video parallels – Dexerto

Gabbie Hanna demands “accountability” for supposed Bebe Rhexa music video parallels Instagram: Gabbie Hanna/Bebe RhexaFans rejoiced after musician Bebe Rexha dropped the music video for her new track ‘Sabotage’, but there was one person who definitely wasn’t happy: YouTuber and aspiring singer Gabbie Hanna. Bebe Rexha released the highly-anticipated music video on Thursday 15 April. Christian Breslauer, who has also worked with top musicians like Chris Brown, Doja Cat and Jason Derulo, is credited as the director. Although the video has already surpassed 1 million views on YouTube, certain creative choices in the video – like Rexha holding a single match and standing in front of a burning house – have amassed criticism from Gabbie Hanna and her fans. This is because similar shots were used in Hanna’s 2018 music video ‘Monster’. With several fans posting side-by-side comparisons, calling Rexha’s new video “unacceptable” and demanding that the singer speak out about the situation, Bebe later defended her music video on Twitter – claiming that while she was inspired by another music video, it wasn’t Gabbie Hanna’s. “My ACTUAL inspo was ‘Love the Way You Lie,” Rexha revealed in a Tweet, as she posted an image from the 2010 music video of Eminem and Rhianna, who both feature on the track, standing in front of a burning building in the same way Bebe did in her music video. Gonna be completely honest I never heard of her. But now I will listen to her music. Great minds think alike. My ACTUAL inspo was love the way you lie. 🖤 https://t.co/y1VagLDF8c pic.twitter.com/ndmN5p8kxt — Bebe Rexha (@BebeRexha) April 16, 2021 While she also admitted she had “never heard” of Gabbie (shade!), she said that “great minds think alike” and committed herself to listening to some of Hanna’s music. However, it looks like Gabbie isn’t as willing to forgive and forget. Posting a TikTok editing the two videos together for viewers to compare, she said in the caption that while she doesn’t blame Rexha, she believes that “the director, Christian Breslauer, needs to be held accountable.” https://www.tiktok.com/@gabbiehanna/video/6951980507466960134?lang=en&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6931184181967947270 Hanna then took to Twitter to vent about the situation, saying: “I really wasn’t going to say anything, but then i realized that’s what people are hoping small artists do… stay silent and shut up because they don’t want to upset influential industry people. again.” She also quipped: “I find it hard to tell which screenshots are mine and which are hers!” Rexha is yet to respond to these latest comments, as is the director of her music video Christian Breslauer.

  • Gabbie Hanna faces backlash over controversial drug tweets – Dexerto

Gabbie Hanna faces backlash over controversial drug tweets Instagram: @gabbiehannaGabbie Hanna is facing backlash after tweeting about DMT, a recreational psychedelic drug, but some fans have rushed to her defense, claiming she’s free to do as she pleases. Like many other singers and songwriters, it seems like Gabbie Hanna likes to dabble in recreational psychedelic substances from time to time. She recently tweeted about DMT, a chemical substance found in many plants and animals that people use for its otherworldly psychedelic effects. However, it comes with risks and isn’t for everyone. It’s illegal in most countries, and naturally, that means it’s shrouded in controversy and debate. Still, that hasn’t stopped people from using it, and it certainly didn’t stop Gabbie from casually tweeting about it. Read More: Gabbie Hanna apologizes after being slammed for comments “The DMT hookup just flaked [because] he’s “going through a lot right now,” she wrote. https://twitter.com/GabbieHanna/status/1375334557960970247?s=20 While she didn’t necessarily clarify if she used the drug, the mere mention of it in the tweet didn’t sit well with fans, who thought it was inappropriate. “Is this supposed to be quirky and relatable or something? This is gross and weird in so many ways,” wrote one fan. “I’m not sure DMT is something you should advertise to everyone,” wrote another. However, plenty of others had no issues with it at all. Instead, they pointed out that DMT is widely considered a ‘safe’ psychedelic compound and is even used in clinical trials. Why is it gross lol. She made a joke about a super safe and fun drug. Cry more. — Gaytheist (@shawn_milkin) March 26, 2021 Gabbie hasn’t commented any further on the topic, and based on what she’s seen in the comments, she probably won’t. But perhaps more importantly, it’s a sign that it’s still a sensitive topic, and considering some of her fans are still young and underage, some of them believe it wasn’t the time and place.

  • Gabbie Hanna backlash erupts after YouTube videos about Jessi Smiles & Bianca Devins – Dexerto

Gabbie Hanna backlash erupts after YouTube videos about Jessi Smiles & Bianca Devins YouTube: Gabbie HannaGabbie Hanna’s new YouTube series, ‘Confessions of a Washed-Up YouTube HasBeen’, is only two episodes in, but it has already come under scrutiny for its treatment of issues like Hanna’s relationship with Jessi Smiles and the coverage of online personality Bianca Devins, who was murdered in 2o19. In the second episode of her YouTube series, Gabbie took aim at “drama channels” such as Dustin Daily, Ready to Glare, Repzilla, The Viewers Voice and Angelika Oles for referencing Bianca Devins in videos calling out Hanna in February last year. In their videos, the creators criticized Gabbie for talking about Devins in one of her earlier videos. In her video, she included a picture of Devins while discussing what an ‘E-girl’ was, while the context around Bianca and her murder wasn’t discussed. Over a year following the backlash, Gabbie discussed the situation in a video entitled: ‘Hold Tea Channels Accountable (Justice for Bianca Devins).’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QuFqUlLm4U&t=137s During the video, Gabbie said that she “did the right thing” and tried to deal with the situation quietly, and hit out at the channels for publicizing the issue and “exploiting” Devins for clout. “This should have never been news,” Hanna added. She also questioned why these videos were monetized, and whether any funds were donated. While Giulia-Christina Philip, the maker of drama channel Ready To Glare, released a video apologizing directly to the Devins family, she also clarified on Twitter that she didn’t profit over her video critiquing Hanna and that she had not covered Bianca’s death apart from this following a request from a family friend of the Devins’. in no way fathomable would i EVER disrespect a grieving family even though Gabbie did that shit to me. i just rewatched my video and i was honestly very calm. she’s deflecting because she doesn’t want to own her own shit. she is actually a crazy person. — Dustin Dailey (@ThreeDailey) June 25, 2021 Meanwhile, Dustin Daily said in a Tweet: “Yeah, let’s make this about Bianca whole slew of s**t Gabbie has done aside from that.” He then listed several other controversies Gabbie had been involved in, including the accusation that she had been “mentally abusing Jessi [Smiles]. Jessi Smiles hits out at Gabbie Hanna Jessi Smiles, former friend of Gabbie Hanna, also called out the YouTuber for a video in her new series. In the first video of her new series, entitled ‘Preface’, Hanna included footage of Smiles crying. In a series of Tweets directed to Gabbie, Jessi said that if she was going to address their past, “I sincerely BEG you to leave my trauma out of it.” She continued: “Stop using clips of me crying. You’ve done enough. Leave this out.” And she put this clip over audio of her talking about people who tried to put a “target on her back.” I get it, Gabbie. We had a toxic falling out after our friendship ended. Please leave me alone now. — Jessi Smiles (@jessismiles__) June 26, 2021 Smiles then followed this up with a Tweet saying: “Please leave me alone.” Following the Tweets, #ApologizeToJessiSmiles started trending on Twitter, while fellow YouTuber Lily Marston showed her support for Jessi by referencing Hanna’s call-out of drama channels talking about Bianca Devins in her latest video. Marston said in a Tweet that Gabbie using footage of Smiles crying was a “pretty bold move for someone who just spent an entire episode talking about how disgusting it is to exploit and monetize someone’s trauma.”
