100T CouRage hits major milestone after move to YouTube Gaming CouRageJD – Twitter100 Thieves content creator Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop just crossed an impressive milestone months after his switch to YouTube Gaming. CouRage made the difficult choice of leaving his dedicated audience behind on Twitch and joining the greener pasture on YouTube back in 2019. It wasn’t a complete rebuild, however, as he still had a sizable viewerbase on YouTube already that he could capitalize on. Despite the majority of his content on the platform being Twitch highlights before his move, he still had a dedicated audience. On January 27, just a few months after his announcement, 100 Thieves revealed CouRage crossed the two million subscriber count on YouTube in a congratulatory tweet. “The CouRageous are now 2 million strong on YouTube,” said the organization. “Congratulations CouRageJD on creating such a positive and dedicated community. CouRage made the leap to YouTube in November 2019 and hasn’t looked back. In fact, he ended up being the first major streamer to go from Twitch to YouTube exclusively. Although it happened at a much later date, his fellow 100 Thieves content creator Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter also joined him. These might have appeared to be surprising moves when they happened, but things become a lot clearer when you look at the ties 100 Thieves CEO Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag has with YouTube, notably the head of gaming Ryan ‘Fwiz’ Wyatt. For the time being, there are no other plans for other 100 Thieves creators to move over to YouTube, but it wouldn’t be strange to see that happen at some point. If CouRage is able to keep his hot streak going, then there should be no reason we won’t be seeing him cross his next major milestone in the very near future.

Even as Twitch continues to face backlash over its handling of the highly criticized hot tub and ASMR metas, the platform has been swept over by a new controversial trend: gambling streams. As more and more large creators come under fire for participating in the latest fad to dominate the platform, more information has been revealed — intentionally and otherwise — about just how much money is changing hands during gambling streams on Twitch. The latest creator to enter the fray is Yassuo — a massive Twitch personality and content creator for famed esports org 100 Thieves — who revealed that gamblers have wagered millions of dollars while using his referral code in just one online casino. While wrapping up a gambling stream on his Twitch channel, Yassuo wanted to share some of his winnings with fellow gamblers who used his referral code in that particular online casino. Although his goal was to share some of his winnings with a few fans, some eagle-eyed viewers were quick to grab the information from the list of gamblers on Yassuo’s screen — revealing some truly massive figures that have been wagered in the streamer’s name. After calculating the total amount wagered by all 22 users displayed on-screen, one Redditor confirmed that the grand total came out to a whopping $14,874,120 dollars. One important thing to note is that the $14 million plus number isn’t money those players deposited into the casino, only wagered. So, in the case of someone wagering $100 dollars, winning $100 more, then wagering their entire balance, the total money wagered would be $200. While those players didn’t deposit nearly $15 million dollars into the online casino, they still wagered that massive amount of money — and a good few of them probably lost most, if not all, of any winnings they had previously acquired. Gambling streams are still very much a ‘wild west’ category on the streaming service, with Twitch itself not yet taking a firm stance on the practice, and streamers highly divided over whether or not that brand of content belongs on the platform. Despite participating in gambling streams, Yassuo issued a warning to his viewers before shutting down his broadcast: “Don’t f**king gamble. You won’t make money gambling. What you don’t see is all of those f**king losses that go in before [streamers] get that f**king big win.”

Naturally, they saw the humor in the situation, and decided to take photos outside of the imaginary law firm from where the letters supposedly came. Of course, the letter, which claims Yassuo made “defamatory comments,” wasn’t legitimate at all. During the stream — of which a vod is embedded below — the letter is looked at in detail, confirming it’s from Bella. Yassuo also shows the emails from the law firm it claims to come from, confirming that it’s fake. He then goes on to explain that the situation is much bigger than simply a cease and desist directed towards him. Another person named in the letter is Jackson ‘KatEvolved’ Dohan, a former mid-laner for TSM Academy and boyfriend of Bella. As it turns out, Bella had said she was 24 years old, while Dohan is 19. Yassuo is now claiming, however, that she is turning 29 years old in just a couple of months; almost 10 years Dohan’s senior. There are numerous 100 Thieves streamers who are still on Twitch, including The Mob, Nadeshot, Yassuo, and many others. Given Nadeshot’s friendship with YouTube’s Head of Gaming Ryan ‘Fwiz’ Wyatt, it’s possible more 100 Thieves creators will be making a switch to YouTube. From December 2018 to 2019, every major streaming platform saw growth, with Facebook Gaming seeing the most explosive gain in streaming hours, according to StreamElements. Despite the bombshell moves of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek to Microsoft’s Mixer, YouTube Gaming is still firmly in the second spot in terms of hours watched as of late 2019. While it’s a reality that many women deal with, the broadcasters got caught in an uncomfortable situation during their night out on the town, which they captured during a live stream while walking the streets of Japan. Both Valkyrae and Pokimane were broadcasting their adventures in the country when a stranger accosted them, pointedly catcalling Valkyrae as they walked by. “Hey! What’s up, shawty?” the man repeatedly asked. “She has a boyfriend, I’m sorry,” Pokimane interjected, attempting to defuse the altercation. In the past, 100T has partnered up with luxury brands like Gucci, and some of its top streamers have even rubbed elbows with major celebrities. For instance, YouTube streamer Valkyrae famously appeared in the music video for Machine Gun Kelly and Corpse Husband’s song DAYWALKER! — and now, it looks like she’s set to make another major musical appearance with another popular artist. Valkyrae & Fuslie to star in Ylona Garcia music video On February 19, Filipino-Australian singer and songwriter Ylona Garcia posted an eye-popping announcement on her Instagram page, revealing that she’s creating a song for 100 Thieves. Alongside Ylona, both Valkyrae and Fuslie will be appearing in the music video. Ylona shared a few sneak peeks of the video in her post, asking fans for their opinions on which photo she should pick for her album cover. In the photos, Valkyrae, Fuslie, and Ylona pose wearing futuristic black streetwear. Given the vibe of the set and the outfits, fans are expecting the song to be a vampy, electronic bop… but we’ll just have to wait and see. Just about every content creator and staff member under the org’s umbrella took notice and the incident soon went viral. “We need help,” Nadeshot followed up, tagging Twitter founder Jack Dorsey. “Please, I’m begging you.” Whether staged or not, these antics led to a surge in followers for the primary 100 Thieves Twitter account. Amidst the ‘backlash,’ JHB successfully cleared the one million follower mark while in control of the profile. At a glance, there’s no denying this incident is hilarious. But given the relationship between 100 Thieves and Twitter, with Twitter owner Jack Dorsey also serving as the CEO of Cash App, a major sponsor of 100 Thieves, it’s safe to assume all will be back to normal and the verified tick will return in a matter of days. After all, it’s far from the first time 100 Thieves has meddled with Twitter verifications, and there’s every chance it won’t be the last.

Ever since his departure from FaZe Clan, fans have been wondering what Cloak’s next move would be, and many linked him to 100 Thieves. The esports organization had a blazing hot year in 2019, signing talents like The Mob, BrookeAB, CouRageJD, and more to their roster. While things have been much quieter through the first month of 2020, that doesn’t mean something isn’t coming on the horizon. Rumors of Cloak joining the 100 Thieves squad have been ongoing for months now, but speculation really ramped up when his girlfriend Alexia Raye revealed she was moving to California, even living in the same apartment complex as 100 Thieves streamer Valkyrae. She insisted this didn’t mean she was breaking up with Cloak, but that conveniently opened the door for speculation that one of the two could sign with the organization. The former FaZe Clan member leaned into this and even posted teases of his own, like tweeting a picture of the new 100 Thieves compound on January 30. The statement begins with actual facts about the Fortnite pro’s life, such as his career as a top gamer and Twitch streamer, but then changes gears and claims he was the star of the 1997 cartoon “Franklin,” comparing him to the title character who is a turtle. That could all be about to change, though, with popular star Karl Jacobs urging 100T to get involved. Karl recently took part in 100 Thieves’ CashApp Pay Day tournament, with $450,000 being given away in UNO matches and trivia questions. He also filmed an episode of the CouRage and Nadeshot Show alongside Twitch star Ludwig Ahgren, where the topic of Minecraft obviously came up. After CouRage asks if there’s anything Karl would do as co-owner of 100T, he joked saying “no more esports,” calling it “a bad move.” He then said “we’re going Minecraft, that’s it,” to which CouRage and Nadeshot had interesting responses. “I’ve been preaching,” Dunlop said of a 100T Minecraft division. 100 Thieves punish CouRage for Star Wars opinion by vandalizing his room Streamer and renowned Star Wars hater Jack “CouRage” Dunlop got a surprise from his fellow 100 Thieves members all based on his least-favorite cinematic franchise. CouRage’s dislike for Star Wars is no secret with the esports personality regularly attempting to roast the series and it’s fans. One of his most controversial claims is that “Transformers > Star Wars”, a statement that other streamers like Ninja, have thrown back in his face time and time again. The Star Wars fans strike back On Friday October 25 CouRage posted pictures of what looked like some his fellow 100 Thieves members covering his room in Star Wars memorabilia. There were printed out posters covering every surface except the ceiling, a Yoda statue, and even a new Star Wars bedspread. But the pranksters also look to be hanging something on the window – turns out it’s a massive print out of the streamer’s infamous recent tweet comparing Star Wars to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and more. CouRage has really leaned into the Star Wars hate over the last year and it seems like his latest tweet about the films was the last straw for the hardcore pranksters. Apparently some people on 100T disagreed with the idea enough to go to the trouble of putting all of the stuff back on his walls after plastering them with Star Wars images. The Star Wars sheets are a nice touch too, but sadly the streamer probably won’t be holding onto them after he cleans up – but you never know. Computer, enhance. The prank seems to have been conducted by the 100T group of streamers called “The Mob”, who CouRage has gone back and forth with in the past. This unexpected Star Wars room makeover probably won’t do anything to change his opinion on the franchise, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

100 Thieves President teases date of next merchandise release Twitter: 100 Thieves100 Thieves President and COO John Robinson recently spoke with Travis Gafford and dropped a major hint as to when the juggernaut esports and gaming entertainment brand would release its next set of apparel. 100 Thieves hit the ground running to start out 2020 with a brand new slate of jerseys kicking the year off before lifting the veil on a sprawling new Los Angeles compound to house all staff and talent under one roof. While announcements have been coming hot and heavy at the dawn of a new decade, it doesn’t look like the organization will be slowing down anytime soon as a huge merchandise release is supposedly right around the corner. In a recent interview with Travis Gafford, Robinson touched on a wide array of topics pertaining to 100 Thieves. From the aforementioned Cash App Compound in Los Angeles, to the start of a new LCS Split. Before the conversation came to a close however, Gafford touched on the booming apparel wing of the organization and how the new facility will also serve as a retail space for local fans, rather than LA natives needing to order through the 100 Thieves website the minute that a new batch is released. While Robinson didn’t disclose an exact date just yet, he revealed a rough window as to when the next major merchandise drop will be coming. “First retail drop in February,” Robinson revealed. The relevant section of the interview begins at the 8:30 mark for mobile users. While no further details were revealed as to what type of apparel will be available this time around, nor how many items will be included in the drop, the brief statement does provide a new tidbit beyond the rough date. Robinson explicitly called it the “first retail drop,” indicating that fans will be able to walk into the freshly minted facility and purchase new apparel in person for the first time in company history. There’s no telling whether any exclusive merchandise will be made available just for those who visit the compound during the very first storefront activation however, though it’s likely all apparel items will simultaneously be released online as fans have grown accustomed to. Throughout the recent facility tour video, Nadeshot stopped by their apparel design studio and spoke with Doug Barber on camera. While all potential designs and yet to be revealed merchandise was blurred throughout the video, Barber mentioned how the February release will serve as a full “capsule collection with about 10 or 12 styles.”

100 Thieves Owner Nadeshot Reveals Anxiety is His Biggest Challenge The crippling effect of anxiety has been documented by popular YouTuber and 100 Thieves owner, Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag. The former professional Call of Duty player has been open about his mental health throughout his career, and has revealed in the past he often struggles in certain situations and can spend days at a time shut off from the outside world. Nadeshot rose to prominence as a professional Call of Duty player under OpTic Gaming, but following his retirement from competing in 2015, he went on to focus on content creation both on YouTube and Twitch. In 2016 he created the 100 Thieves brand, but it wasn’t until late 2017 that the org really took off, teaming up with the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team and being accepted as one of the ten NA LCS franchises. Despite the tough times throughout his career, Nadeshot has revealed that the greatest challenge he’s ever faced is anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear and can come in many different forms. In some instances, it can lead to a panic attack that can result in a shortness of breath, shaking, sweating and other problems. The 100T faithful showed up in full force during Nadeshot’s December 11 charity stream to raise money for the Gamers Outreach Foundation who supply gaming units, equipment, and more for children coping with long-term treatments in hospitals. Nadeshot had set a target of raising $50,000 throughout the events of his stream. But to encourage viewers along the way, he set up mini-donation goals leading up to his ultimate mark. One such goal came at the expense of Cloak, who agreed to make a major contribution to the fundraising efforts with an on-stream hair trim. A shocked Cloak sat down in front for the stream, not expecting Nadeshot to go past a two-hour broadcast to raise the requisite money. “So what are you thinking? 100 Thieves job listing hints at new comedy show in the works A new job listing on the 100 Thieves website hints at the possibility of upcoming comedy and reality shows coming to the organization. 100 Thieves has become one of the biggest esports organizations in the world since it was created by former Call of Duty pro player Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, with insanely popular apparel and content to go alongside their championship trophies. Content has been at the forefront of Haag and 100 Thieves’ vision since its inception, creating viral hits and some of the most revered gaming content on YouTube. Now, though, it seems they’re looking to level up. In a job listing posted in December 2019, 100 Thieves appear to be on the lookout for an experienced comedy writer to join and assist with their content creation. Of course, the company has already created a number of funny pieces, straying from the documentary-style content so prominent in esports and trying to create something different, such as their BrookeAB announcement and the podcasts being produced for their YouTube channel. While fans originally thought the streamer would be moving to Mixer, CouRage announced an exclusive partnership with Google-owned platform YouTube on November 4. However, Brooke just wants to stay true to herself while trying to make the scene a more positive experience for other women. “People say the word ‘role model’ and things like that, but I don’t ever feel like that’s me,” she said of the term. “I’m happy to hear that, but I just want to be my most authentic self and be as open as possible about all issues I’m going through. I think that’s one of the main things about me being in this industry.” “I’m open about sexism, whether it’s in gaming or this industry. I’m very open about mental health. Very open about stalking issues. I think it’s important to have these conversations, because if we just sweep it under the rug, nothing will ever change about any of those things. For me, I love being able to have those conversations and lead those conversations, but there are just so many amazing women in this industry. …My ultimate goal is to make gaming a safe space for all of these women.” Using her platform and partners to support women Brooke says that working with partners like JBL has allowed her to amplify her message and broaden her platform. As she explained, “they’ve always given me a platform to speak about that. I’m so thankful for them, they’re one of my favorite brands to work with.” Describing that platform and work to support women, Brooke pointed to the JBL Changemakers Panel, where she and other female streamers “had an open discussion about what it’s like being a woman in gaming, what issues we face, what we’d like to change.” The event was also in partnership with the 1,000 Dreams Fund to award 30 women in gaming $1,500 to further their careers. She says that talking to her viewers can make a crummy day a lot better. “At my old job, I went to work, I went home, I went to school, I went home. I just kind of kept to myself. [In streaming], you meet so many people you would never, ever even know existed,” she explained. “I go live every day and talk to these people in my chat. When people are regulars in my chat, I’m like, ‘How was work? I know you work at Chipotle. How was your promotion?’ You get to know these people. As weird as it is and you don’t know them, you get to interact with so many different people.” “Something people don’t realize is that people will say in chat, ‘Thank you, I needed a distraction today,’ or things like that. After the servers for Skate 3 mysteriously turned back on in late 2019, players thought a new game could be on the horizon, but no announcement came out of that mysterious development. Perhaps the biggest Skate 4 fan of them all, Avalanche, remained as optimistic as ever, and took full advantage of asking EA about the future of the franchise when they followed him on Twitter. So, it might not come as a surprise to find out that some of TikTok’s users have been locked up behind bars at one point or another. However, there are some recognizable names on the list that might just shock you. With that said, here are 10 TikTok stars who found themselves locked up and in handcuffs. Owami Ngcobo Durban TikToker Owami Ngcobo, who goes by ‘danielkaranikaranii’ online, is best known on the platform for posting comedic skits and dance moves. Highly regarded in the South African TikTok scene, Owami was even invited to perform at Johannesburg for the 2021 TikTok famous creator. But recently, in August 2023, the TikToker found herself in hot water after the Durban Metro Police Service Drug Team received a tip-off that a hijacked Hyundai I20 was about to be sold. Two suspects were consequently arrested; Owami, and her Nigerian boyfriend. They were also found to be in possession of drugs. It appears Owami has since been released, posting once again to TikTok. As of yet, it is unknown what charges have been made against the pair. Bacari-Bronze Constantine O’Garro Bacari-Bronze Constantine O’Garro, known as ‘Mizzy’ on TikTok, rose to internet fame by posting controversial “prank” videos. Many of his “pranks” included antisocial behavior, with this escalating to Bacari-Bronze breaking into a stranger’s house for views. The house was a family residence with young children inside. Filming the interaction, Bacari-Bronze was repeatedly asked to leave by the parents. The video quickly circulated online and Bacari-Bronze was given a community protection notice prohibiting him from trespassing on private property. However, he would later breach this notice in May 2023, resulting in a fine and a two-year criminal behavior order. He was released on bail under the condition he lives with his mother but was arrested again in July at the Wireless Festival for not complying with an order to disperse. His TikTok account has since been removed. Alex Danyel Alex Danyel, better known as ‘youcantfindalex’ on TikTok, was arrested earlier this year in April 2023. He was “doing doughnuts in the street” with friends when police officers arrived to break up the group. Instead of following instructions, Alex fled the scene in a red Corvette. This started a chase that led from the east to the west side of the valley, with Mesa police, DPS, and Phoenix police all in pursuit of Alex. The Corvette rammed into a patrol car along the way but was stopped as it reached Pheonix due to tire spikes that took out two wheels and left Alex fleeing on foot. He was eventually caught and detained at a house but has since been released. Alex returned to TikTok where he has been seen showing off his ankle monitor. At the time of his arrest, Alex had almost 700k followers, posting joke videos with an occasional thirst trap focused on his muscles. That number has grown exponentially since his arrest, with Alex now boasting 2.1 million followers. Gianluca Conte Gianluca Conte, or ‘itsQCP’ on TikTok, is best known for his culinary shorts and viral food tutorials. But things took a turn for the worse when Gianluca was helping a friend move in September 2022. He was pulled over by police who informed him the rental van was in fact stolen, arresting him for felony possession of a stolen vehicle. U-Haul, the company that had rented out the van, had reported it as stolen after it was never returned and payment was missed. QCP was arrested, booked, and released from custody on a bail of $25,000. He was not charged over the incident and claimed he didn’t know the van was stolen when he borrowed it from a friend. The friend responsible for renting the U-Haul has since paid for the van, with QCP continuing to post TikTok. Mahek Bukhari Mahek Bukhari, better known as “maybvlogs”, had a following of over 120,000 on TikTok and frequently shared fashion updates. Her rise to fame, however, was cut short after Mahek was arrested alongside her mother, Ansreen Bikhari, and several friends in 2022 after a car chase resulted in the deaths of two men. Ansreen had been blackmailed by her former affair partner, Saqib Hussain, and came to her daughter for help. Mahek organized a group to “jump” Saqib in order to end the threats, but things escalated into a car chase. After Saqib made a desperate call to 911, his car was rammed off the road. Both Saqib and his friend — who was not involved with any of the blackmailings — were killed when the car hit a central reservation barrier doing 80m/h. Mahek and the rest of the group responsible were found guilty earlier this year, with Mahek and Ansreen both convicted of murder. Prior to their arrest, Mahek would often post about her close relationship with her mother on Instagram. Chozen Terrell-Hannah Chozen Terrell-Hannah, known as ‘chozenwrld’ on TikTok, had amassed over 150,000 followers and often showed off his dance moves by participating in trending choreographies. But his TikTok would be his undoing, with Chozen being arrested by the FBI in 2022 over four robberies; a gas station, a smoke shop, and two 7-Eleven stores twice. It was later revealed that law enforcement was able to tie Chozen to the robberies because of his specific Nike sneakers — the same shoes worn to complete various robberies. After his arrest, his phone confirmed he had been in the area of all four robberies, and a Glock handgun was found in his residence. As of now, the TikToker has yet to be sentenced but could face maximum imprisonment of more than 20 years if he is convicted. Held without bond, Chozen faces charges of robbery and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. His TikTok account has since been removed. Brittany Johnson Brittany Johnson, also known as Lovely Peaches online, found a following on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook for her absurd and disturbing content. Controversial and seen largely as a “meme”, not all of Brittany’s activities were legal. She was arrested and charged with animal cruelty in 2021 after sharing posts that showed her abusing her dog. At one point she sprayed perfume in the dog’s face and claimed to have broken its legs. The video was described as “very upsetting” and viewers were outraged, notifying police of Brittany’s behavior. Concern continued to increase after Brittany made a post on Instagram claiming that the dog had died. This, however, turned out not to be the case. The dog was found alive and removed from her care, with Brittany claiming she lied to get more followers. She was later released from custody after being granted bond. A DeKalb County Police Department representative spoke to TooFab and said, “Until her case is concluded, she is not allowed to own or care for any animals. Meanwhile, her Jack Russell Terrier was taken into custody by Animal Services, where it was examined by a veterinarian and Johnson voluntarily signed over custody.” Haneen Hossam Haneen Hossam gained more than 900,000 followers on TikTok by posting videos of herself lip-syncing to songs and dancing. In a shocking turn of events, she was arrested in 2020 for “violating family values and principles” after she invited female followers to join another video-sharing platform, Likee. Despite being sentenced to two years in prison, an appeals court was able to have Hanseen acquitted. But another charge was made against the TikToker, this time accusing her of human trafficking by “using girls in acts contrary to the principles and values of Egyptian society with the aim of gaining material benefits”. She was found guilty by the Cairo Criminal Court and sentenced to 10 years in jail. Haneen has maintained her innocence, stating she “didn’t do anything immoral to deserve all this”. Speaking about Haneen’s case, a US-based human rights lawyer and director of the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy said that Egypt’s justice system was “criminalizing what influencers globally do every day when they invite others to work with them and monetize TikTok activity”. Moreso, Haneen wasn’t the only woman to be arrested, with a dozen women charged with “social media crimes”. The “family values” the women have been accused of breaking are alleged to be “purposefully vague and subjective”. Bryce Hall TikToker Bryce Hall could appear on this list for multiple reasons, but his first offense was in 2020 when he was arrested alongside Jaden Hossler on drug offenses in Texas. Found in possession of marijuana, Bryce was released after spending 13 hours behind bars. He later went onto Logan Paul’s Impaulsive Podcast and admitted he was grateful for the arrest as it served as a much-needed wake-up call. “We were in jail for 13 hours, we got out. Everyone said that we were privileged and shit, but actually Jaden and I – and even the people who didn’t get arrested – came to a huge realization, and we leveled out after that,” Bryce said. “Honestly, worst experience of my life. I don’t ever want to go back.” Despite his resolve to stay out of trouble, Bryce was arrested again in October 2022, after getting into a drunken fistfight at a local club in Los Angeles, California. The fight broke out after Bryce was overcharged for six bottles of tequila, though he’d claimed to only have bought three. Luckily, he wasn’t charged over the incident. Cameron Herrin In 2018, Cameron Herrin was street racing with a high school friend, John Barrineau, when he struck a mother, Jessica Raubenolt, and her baby, Lillia, while they were crossing the road. Jessica was killed instantly, with Lillia fighting for another day before passing away. 18 at the time, Cameron plead guilty to vehicular homicide. He was sentenced to 24 years in prison, much to his and his lawyer’s surprise. Despite the gravity of Cameron’s crimes, he became a sensation on social media and especially TikTok, with many girls fawning over his “good looks” and claiming he was “too cute” for jail. Many have rallied around Cameron, demanding his sentence be shortened and circulating a hashtag calling for action: #JusticeForCameron. Jessica’s husband, David William Raubenolt, however, has been adamant about keeping Cameron behind bars. “Since the unspeakable and terrifying death of my wife and daughter, I’ve suffered horrifically, every moment,” David told the courtroom during Cameron’s trial. “It’s nearly impossible to put into words the agony of this legal process and the profound drama it has caused, increased exponentially every day that these defendants are not in prison.”

TikTok is known for making short clips go viral — but the latest video to take off on the platform was a whopping ten minutes long, and it’s infuriating viewers. Singer-songwriter ‘Mizz Crizzy’ was on her way to Canada with her sister when she found herself sitting next to an elderly woman. As the flight progressed, Mizz Crizzy couldn’t help but notice that her neighbor was typing out an email in extremely large font on her smartphone… and the message was about her. TikToker spots woman typing racist email about her on plane In a greuling, ten-minute long segment, the elderly woman painstakingly typed out an email that read: “I am looking out the window. Other two seats are taken by two very large, dolled-up black ladies, one of whom is extremely hostile. She makes Serena Williams look like Twiggy,” the email reads. “I am being very pleasant just to annoy her.” Mizz Crizzy said that this was her “first racist encounter,” and her video of the incident has racked up over 7 million views in just three days. Commenters couldn’t believe the woman’s offensive comments — and more than a few were flabbergasted at how long it took her to type out the email. “By the time she sends that message, Gmail would have gone out of business,” one commenter wrote. “Dolled up! At least she recognised you guys were pretty!” another pointed out. “By the time she’s done texting, I would have given birth to my first born, and I’m not even pregnant!” another joked. This list is aimed at compiling the most successful and influential streamers from 2010-2019. It should be noted that this list is only for those creators who are best known for their livestream content. This means YouTuber’s or professional players (for example ProSyndicate or Faker) will not be present, as their success and popularity is owed more to their other ventures than streaming. There were a handful of names who could have deserved a spot on this list (stick around for some honorable mentions at the end), but this has been narrowed down to our top 10. 10. Castro_1021: The king of FIFA 28-year-old Edwin Castro stands out on this list as the only FIFA streamer, and rightfully so. Starting out on Twitch and YouTube in 2014, Castro’s exciting and boisterous streams were the template which many other FIFA streamers and content creators emulated. But, his charismatic personality and charitable nature made him stand out from the crowd, head and shoulders above the competition. In both 2015 and 2016, after his mother had brain surgery, Castro’s charity livestreams for Macmillan Cancer Support and St Jude’s Research Hospital raised hundreds of thousands. As of 2019, he has raised almost $400,000 for good causes. EA even gave him his own 95-rated ‘hero’ Castro card in 2016, in recognition of his charity efforts. In 2017, he became the most followed FIFA channel, and in 2019 surpassed 2 million total followers on Twitch, adding to his 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube. 9. Pokimane – Leading the way for female streamers Twitch’s number one female streamer, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has paved the way for others to follow in the coming decade, as the livestreaming space becomes less male-dominated. The Morrocan-Canadian has only been streaming since 2016, but in that time has risen to become one of the platforms biggest stars, in the face of daunting competition. Her ability to capture an audience regardless of the game she’s playing (or not playing one at all) is the envy of many other streamers. Her meteoric rise in 2017 earned her the title of Streamer of the Year at the Shorty Awards, and she has gone from strength to strength since. Continued and exponential growth proves her ability to adapt, moving from League of Legends to Fortnite and much more. Perhaps most impressive, is her ability to avoid and bat down controversy and drama. Now boasting a whopping 3.6 million followers (12th overall), she heads into 2020 as the uncontested top female streamer, and as streaming becomes more mainstream, the sky is the limit. 8. TimTheTatman – Proof that consistency is key One of the veterans of Twitch, Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar started out as a variety gaming streamer in 2012, when the platform was still in its infancy. He quickly positioned himself as a rising star, and over the years has attracted big-name sponsors including Monster Energy, Audio-Technica and Razer. His longevity is the reason he makes this list though, as Tim has been a constant in the otherwise turbulent world of content creation, where ‘flavor of the month’ streamers rise and fall. Regardless of the game he’s playing, the Tatman’s streams often attract upwards of 20,000 live viewers, who stay for the gameplay, the community, and infectious laughter. Ten years on from now, we won’t be surprised to see Betar’s stream still pulling in tens of thousands of viewers every day, thanks to his almost unparalleled consistency and dedication. 7. Sodapoppin – Redefining what streaming can be Another streamer who started in the early days of Twitch in 2012, Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris has come to define and redefine IRL and variety streaming, as well as making it his own. Morris actually started out on Xfire, a site that is now a relic of the past, but was where many early adopters of livestreaming made their bones. One of Sodapoppin’s great feats over the decade has been his ability to move between all manner of content, from gaining popularity as one of the world’s top World of Warcraft players, to gambling streams, and just about everything in between. His ‘sellout Sunday’ broadcasts, where viewers donate to have any video played on stream, became a hit, and is a formula other streamers have also borrowed. Reruns of these episodes on his YouTube channel have amassed millions of views too. He has maintained his relevancy throughout all the developments and changes in streaming culture, still averaging over 26,000 concurrent live viewers throughout 2019. A streaming veteran and innovator, Sodapoppin will be remembered as one of top variety channels of the decade. 6. Imaqtpie – A LoL legend Fortnite might be the biggest game for streaming right now, but before that, League of Legends was top dog, and Michael ‘imaqtpie’ Santana has been the face of LoL streaming for much of the decade. Formerly a professional player for Team Dignitas, imaqtpie made the transition to full-time streaming in 2014, and quickly became the biggest name in League of Legends on Twitch. As LoL became a livestreaming sensation, viewers flocked to Santana’s channel, for the perfect blend of entertainment and high-level gameplay. His channel currently boasts the 4th most unique views of any individual streamer, which is even more impressive given his dedication to only one game. He was the first winner of ‘Streamer of the Year’ at the inagural Esports Industry Awards in 2016, and there was no more deserved winner of that title at the time. Admittedly, League of Legends has been pushed to the number two spot on Twitch pretty much since Fortnite took over in early 2018, and LoL streamers generally have seen a decline in viewership, but imaqtpie has been at the forefront, for this decade at least. 5. LIRIK – Variety gaming at its best Saqib ‘LIRIK’ Zahid started on Twitch in its first year, back in 2011, and has come to represent the quintessential variety streamer. His success is unprecedented, not least because of his eclectic taste in games, but the fact that he never streams with a camera. Very few other streamers can boast anywhere near LIRIK’s success while not showing their face on stream (Dakotaz is another), and it’s a testament to just how enjoyable Zahid’s streams are – and have been – for almost ten years running. It wasn’t until around 2014 that LIRIK began to rise to the upper echelon of Twitch, but he quickly surpassed much of the competition, exploding in 2015 and continuing to stay in the top 5 throughout the next two years. Even when Fortnite took over, LIRIK was able to dabble in and out of a variety of games, while seemingly everyone else had jumped on the battle royale hype train. When a new game releases, LIRIK’s channel is the first port of call for many gamers, who will often make their own purchase decisions after seeing him take it on first. With no face cam and no over-the-top hype and exuberance, LIRIK is the standard by which no-nonsense variety gaming streaming is judged. 4. Dr Disrespect – “The face of Twitch” Compared to the names before him, Dr Disrespect (real name Guy Beahm) is a relative newcomer to streaming. A former game dev working on Call of Duty, Beahm had actually started his character as early as 2010, and brought it back for his foray into Twitch streaming after quitting his development job in 2015. It was a leap of faith that most certainly paid off for the Doc, as his White Goodman-like character was an instant hit, sending him to Twitch stardom as early as 2016 thanks to his H1Z1 streams. Moving on to PUBG, Fortnite and now a wide variety of games, it is the Dr Disrespect character that keeps fans coming back. One of the great innovators of streaming, Beahm took production value of broadcasts to another level, combining green screens, transitions, audio mixes and more to elevate livestreaming to a place that had never been seen before, and is unrivaled to this day. He’s also helped push video game streaming more into the public eye, even featuring in a recent Jimmy Kimmel sketch on national television. Despite being a late entry into this decade, 2020 is wide open for Dr Disrespect to truly become the face of Twitch. 3. Shroud – All skill, no fill Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek is the shining example of a professional player making the transition to full-time streaming, and completely taking over. After retiring from CS:GO at the pro level, shroud was the leading star at the dawn of the battle royale craze on Twitch, and his PUBG streams in 2017 are still seen by many as his golden age. He blew everyone’s mind when he first hit 30,000 subscribers in 2017 – an unthinkable number at the time – and he has gone from strength to strength since. He hit 100,000 subscribers in March 2019, coinciding with the launch of Apex Legends, another first-person shooter he instantly dominated. His nickname ‘human aimbot’ is well-deserved, and to this day he continues to wow his millions of fans with unmatched technical ability in almost any FPS game he touches. Now on Mixer, shroud will aim to diversify the streaming medium even more beyond Twitch, and this next decade could be his best yet. 2. Ninja – Taking streaming to the mainstream Despite only reaching his current levels of popularity in early 2018, there is an argument that Ninja deserves number one on this decade list. He started streaming when he was a Halo professional, and ran a popular channel that most streamers would envy, but it was the meteoric rise of Fortnite that took Ninja to the unprecedented levels we see today. Month on month, Ninja kept breaking records; most viewers, most followers, and, as Twitch hit critical mass, he hit a peak of 250,000 subscribers – a feat that has never been replicated by anyone since. The level of Blevin’s fame hit home when he got a few games in with Drake and Travis Scott, breaking the concurrent viewership record for an individual creator – a record he surpassed with his own Fortnite tournament only a few months later. In addition to appearances on Super Bowl ads and Jimmy Fallon, his sponsorships with the likes of Adidas and Red Bull, Ninja has led the way in de-monopolizing Twitch in the livestreaming space, when he shocked the world with his move to Mixer. He quickly broke their subscriber record too, reaching 1 million subs in only 5 days (although they were free for his first month). Ninja’s ambitions go beyond livestreaming in the next decade, as he aims to be the leader of gaming entertainment’s next evolution. 1. Summit1g – The ultimate trendsetter for a decade Even in the face of Ninja’s unprecedented success, for a list of the entire decade, there’s only one name that can sit at number one. For a decade-long list, it seems only right that the most influential and continually successful streamer for the better part of 10 years take top spot. For that, look no further than Jaryd ‘summit1g’ Lazar. For those less familiar with summit, he may seem like just another variety streamer who has somehow managed to remain popular over the years. But, if there is one individual who has constantly led the way and been a trendsetter for most of the last decade, summit is undoubtedly that person. Streaming since 2012, not only is he a veteran of Twitch, Lazar has also inspired countless others. Formerly a semi-pro CS:GO player, he is technically skilled, highly entertaining, and willing to try his hand at any game. More than any other streamer, he has proven time and time again to be the trailblazer. From Sea of Thieves to GTA RP, if there’s a new trend on Twitch, Summit1g probably started it. He became the most followed streamer in January 2018. Although he has since lost that title, he later reclaimed the spot as the most subscribed streamer in 2019, taking over the likes of Ninja and shroud, eight years into his Twitch career. It’s this unparalleled longevity at the top that earns him the spot above Ninja. His relevance has never waned after eight years on Twitch, and his ability to still be at the forefront of streaming trends is why he earns number one for the decade. He has remained controversy-free and always dedicated to his community, never hopping on trends, but always creating them. Honorable mentions It was difficult to narrow down the many great broadcasters that have defined this groundbreaking decade for streaming, and there were many deserving names left off the top 10. Professional players have also been a massive attraction to streaming. Some of the best streamers to double as pro players include the likes of Nadeshot and Scump in Call of Duty, s1mple and ScreaM in CS:GO, Faker and Sneaky in League of Legends, and so many more. As we look to the next decade, there is a new set of stars who are primed to take over. xQc’s Elden Ring invasion backfires in the best way possible Watching xQc play Elden Ring has been quite entertaining, especially when he’s getting outplayed in the game’s brutal multiplayer mode. xQc is the king of Twitch, and to maintain his place on the throne, he has taken to playing Elden Ring. The brutally hard souls-like game has netted some of the best reactions from streamers. After beating the game, xQc has given From Software’s newest title a positive review. And the game’s multiplayer invasions have kept him hooked even after the credits rolled. But fighting AI bosses differs greatly from fighting real players. On more than one occasion, xQc has been felled while attempting to invade other players. xQc gets outplayed during Elden Ring invasion A massive part of Elden Ring’s post-game content is invasions. Players can travel to other players’ worlds and fight them to the death. There are also several scripted invasions that take place during the game’s single-player experience. xQc has been enjoying these invasions. However, on March 7, xQc couldn’t help but mald after being baited by a 1,000 IQ play. The player xQc invaded was hiding on a ledge of one of Elden Ring’s many castles. As he rounded the corner to hunt the player down, the streamer was blown off the castle ledge by an Ash of War. “Damn dude. Daaaamn, dude. That was sick,” xQc sarcastically stated, “So wicked, man. You were hiding the entire game.” His chat exploded with OMEGALUL emotes and insults. This came moments after xQc ranted about the behaviors of those who play Elden Ring’s multiplayer. “They should literally ban people and give them severe timeouts for doing sh*t that is cowardly as f**k.” Despite his apparent displeasure with his opponents, he went on to play several more invasions. FromSoftware’s long-awaited Elden Ring was finally released on February 25. Upon launch, the RPG instantly became one of the most popular games on all of Steam, hitting a peak of 840,000 players. Tons of the top streamers have been digging into the title, like Dr Disrespect and xQc, who was one of those who died via courtesy of the game’s bugs at launch. The Canadian Twitch star has continued to broadcast a lot of Elden Ring and encountered another untimely death in the Lands Between. xQc blows 400k Runes in Elden Ring Runes, like Souls in the Dark Souls series, are the main currency of Elden Ring and serve both as XP and purchasing currency. Upon dying, players lose all of their Runes, but can recoup them by returning to the spot of their defeat. Although, if you die while on your way back, the Runes are then gone forever. xQc was farming them and had accumulated 400,000 in the Deeproot Depths when he made a crucial error that cost him all his progress. The streamer died and was on his way back to get all the Runes he had lost when he then miscalculated a jump that cost him dearly, killing him and making the currency disappear forever. “F**k! F**k! At this point dude, I’m done with it!” he exclaimed. In response, xQc’s chat spammed “-400k” in jest, mocking the large amount of Runes the streamer was now without. Despite the major setback, the streamer has continued to broadcast the game nearly non-stop since its launch.

The highly-anticipated Elden Ring was released on February 25 and players are already uncovering all of the hidden secrets of the Lands Between. Of course, countless Twitch personalities are also making their way through FromSoftware’s beautiful yet harsh world and taking on any bosses that stand in their way. Unfortunately, as with any newly released game, there are a number of glitches that are interrupting playthroughs and making certain encounters extremely difficult. That’s exactly what xQc found out when he tried to mount his trusty stead Torrent to escape an enemy and then quickly realized he was frozen mid-air. xQc helpless after bug freezes him in front of monster During his February 25 stream, xQc began his journey through Elden Ring and although he was finding it tough, he was making good progress. That was until he ran into a bug while attempting to mount his trusty horse, Torrent. After jumping onto the steed, it seemingly disappeared out of nowhere leaving xQc floating and frozen mid-air. A monster in the nearby area took advantage of the moment and decided to attack him while he was vulnerable. As with any FromSoftware game, it only took the creature three hits to melt through xQc’s health bar and set him back on his playthrough. Despite dying to a bug, xQc remained quite calm after the setback and then attempted to run back to the previous location. Unfortunately, his streak of bad luck hadn’t ended with the glitch as a huge bear leaped towards him in the forest and took him out in an instant. It was at this point that xQc really started to get frustrated, as he’d lost a lot of progress and resources that he’d gained from killing a set of bosses. “Yeah it’s over, I lost all my souls to a bug, now I’m not having a good time anymore… that’s two bosses worth of XP man.” Although these encounters definitely left a bad taste in xQc’s mouth, there’s no denying it was great content for his viewers watching the stream. Let’s hope xQc continues his adventure through the Lands Between and manages to play through the rest of the game with no more bug-related deaths.

He’s done everything from losing 400,000 Runes to having a horrendous mix-up during an invasion and more. All in all, though, he had a blast and concluded: “It’s a great game. You get your money’s worth.” However, his viewers are trying to convince him to give it another go in a bid to break the current speedrunning record. The juicer warlord was apprehensive about doing it at first. “I’m not going to do it, guys,” he said to his viewers. “It involves a lot of running and a lot of jumping. It doesn’t look like it would be as fun as other runs.” He expanded on that point further, saying: “It doesn’t feel that fun. It’s Dark Souls. It’s a lot of running and jumping.” It left many people in his chat scratching their heads since that’s the essence of most speedruns. Still, they tried their best to sway him. He watched a video of Distortion2’s current record to appease them and liked what he saw. “20 minutes is not bad,” he said. “I can get behind that. That’s not even that bad.” He also claimed it seemed “pretty straightforward” despite involving item pickups, glitches, and skips. Then, he concluded: “I’m a god gamer incarnate. If I set my mind on something, I can do it. It seems pretty easy.” The relevant part of the video begins at 26:30. xQc didn’t say whether he was actually going to commit to speedrunning Elden Ring. However, he made it clear that he’s up for the challenge. It’ll take a lot to even come close to breaking the current record, though. Either way, it’ll be an exciting and hilarious spectacle for his viewers. If they’re lucky, he might even have another speedrun battle against Forsen — one that he might actually win. Another major feature of Game Pass is Xbox Cloud Gaming, a service that allows user to take their library and play it on different devices, even mobile. However, it appears that Xbox Cloud Gaming may be expanding its offering, allowing players to play even more AAA titles on the go. Xbox Cloud Gaming to support non-Game Pass titles At the moment, Xbox Cloud Gaming only supports games that are already part of the Game Pass Libary. This could all be about to change as Twitter user Knoelbelbroet spotted the Cloud Gaming Beta logo on a handful of major titles on the Xbox Store. “Seems like #Xbox is ramping up their plans to bring Games that are not a part of #XboxGamePass to Xcloud,” said the poster. “Like GTA V, Soul Hackers 2, and Elden Ring.” This would be a major development for the service and open the door for even more big-name games to be made available on mobile platforms. WWE’s Randy Orton is a pretty busy guy, so for him, it looks like it was easier to have someone do the hard part for him. On a recent episode of Insiderz TV, former WWE Superstars Mansoor Al-Shehail and Brennan Williams revealed that Orton had apparently paid someone to level his Elden Ring character. Al-Shehail and Williams explained they were both known video game enjoyers amongst their WWE colleagues. According to them, that’s why Orton initially approached them at the peak of Elden Ring’s hype to discuss the game with them. According to the duo, despite Orton’s love of the game, he’d been struggling with the early hours of Elden Ring. Al-Shehail performed his version of the interaction during the Insiderz TV stream. “Yeah no it’s f**king hard,” Orton explained to the pair in Al-Shehail’s retelling. “Uh, I paid a guy like a thousand bucks to give me, like, infinite runes so I could just level up to 100 right away.” “People are gonna talk about that on Twitter and think that that’s a fake rumor,” Al Shehail said after he was done with his recreation. “Out of all the rumors that sound fake, that is the realest one,” replied Williams. A hilarious dramatization of the encounter was uploaded to the Insiderz TV TikTok account which does the moment more justice than my words ever could. I know I called Orton’s paid rune farming cheating but perhaps that was a little harsh. He’s also likely to be working on the next Witcher game. It looks like Tost has been playing a lot of Elden Ring, as a tweet from him mentions how playing FromSoftware’s masterpiece has made him consider new ideas. More specifically, Tost has been pondering open-world games and what makes them special. His tweet reads: “Since Elden Ring, I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes a good open world. Zelda Breath of the Wild offered a similar mechanic, but Elden Ring really took the baton and ran with it. Tost also asked his followers what they look for in an open-world game, which has led some to suspect he’s considering fresh ideas for CD Projekt Red’s next Witcher title. However, Tost never mentioned The Witcher in his tweet. It will be interesting to see if the Witcher 4, or whatever it ends up being called borrows from Elden Ring. After all, Elden Ring borrowed heavily from The Witcher 3 when crafting its own open-world.

Will Elden Ring get more DLC after Shadow of the Erdtree? FromSoftwareElden Ring’s long-awaited Shadow of the Erdtree launches in 2024, but will it be the last expansion released for the game, or are their other adventures waiting in the Lands Between? FromSoftware has finally revealed that Elden Ring will add its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on June 21, 2024. This expansion will take players to the Land of Shadow, which is a separate realm from the Lands Between in the base game. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC seems to be similar to The Old Hunters DLC from Bloodborne, where a new map is introduced that is similar to the original, except with a darker twist and containing new enemies and items. Shadow of the Erdtree opens the possibility for Elden Ring DLC to visit different locations, rather than expanding on the content in the Lands Between. Does this mean we’ll see more expansions after Shadow of the Erdtree? Will Elden Ring receive more DLC in the future? In a recent interview with IGN, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about the possibility of more DLC in the future or even a full sequel further down the road. Miyazaki downplayed the possibility but didn’t totally rule it out. “We don’t want to say this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now,” Miyazaki said, “I think we said a similar thing at the end of Dark Souls 3. We didn’t want to flatten those possibilities or put a pin in them just at that time. And it’s a similar story with Elden Ring. We don’t want to discourage the possibilities for that. There might be more ideas in the future.” “We don’t have any current plans to make a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don’t want to snuff out that possibility. We think that there could well be something the future.” As of the time of writing, there are no more plans for future Elden Ring DLC, but it could happen if the team has a worthwhile idea. There’s certainly a financial incentive to make more Elden Ring content, but FromSoftware isn’t the kind of company that would churn out sub-par DLC for a quick buck. If you’re like us, you have a highly overpowered character in Elden Ring which you’ve been waiting to unleash on any new bosses and enemies that arrive when Shadow of the Erdtree DLC launches in June. Sure, you’ve been through various New Game Plus cycles so enemies are jacked, and FromSoftware’s DLCs are usually much harder than the base games, but even with all of these factors, it’s going to be a slaughter, with you carving through Messmer the Impaler and his goons like a hot knife through butter. After all, while you may have experimented with the game‘s various builds, you’ve still got your main character, the one who’s seen every ending, gathered every item, slain every boss, and bullied lots of poor unfortunate souls in the Colosseum expansion. At this point, you laugh when someone invades you because they really picked the wrong world to enter. Of course, they’re likely to be a super high level and a seasoned veteran too, but you’ve perfected your build, you can see the holes in theirs, but most importantly, you’re Elden Lord here – and they’re in your domain. This only ever ends one way. Humbling the Elden Lord Malenia, Radahn, Mohg, the Fire Giant, and the Elden Beast all may have troubled players like us once, but no longer. For over two years, we’ve craved a new challenge, something to finally make us feel a semblance of what these bosses once did. But really, we want to see how quickly we can tear through the next round of horrors that have been dreamed up in the wonderfully twisted mind of Hidetaka Miyazaki. We’ve got the build, we’ve got the levels, the items, the knowledge – the overconfidence, but then we got the news that changed everything. With the unveiling of the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer, we learned that the Elden Ring DLC will introduce a new progression system that effectively wipes the slate clean and puts all players on an even keel. It’s a system that’s designed to take away the advantage of OP players like us so that even those who are over level 400 will be at just as much risk as those who are new to the game. For some, this news came as a welcome challenge, especially to those who appreciate fair play and balance. However, this was unwelcome news for others and ruined our mad power fantasy of running through the expansion and cutting down everything in record time – before gleefully celebrating on a pile of crushed enemies. FromSoftware knew our intentions and has already moved to remind us of what Souls games are all about. There are no easy wins and in this world, death comes for us all. But here’s the thing, we don’t know exactly what this new system will entail yet and how it will work. It’s also worth pointing out that in order to access the DLC, players will need to kill Mohg, then will likely need to approach the egg that supposedly houses a mutated Miquella. To get to this point, players will already need to be approaching the endgame, meaning there’ll be no new or inexperienced players venturing into Shadow of the Erdtree. Challenge accepted Pretty much everyone heading into Shadow of the Erdtree will already be a high-level and competent player, so we’re skeptical that this new system will truly level the playing field. We believe that the truly OP players will indeed still have an advantage. Of course, this new system will likely de-fang us to some extent, but we find it highly unlikely that it will completely negate our builds, equipment, and buffs. We also can’t see how those of us who are at an incredibly high level will lose our advantage if the world’s bosses and enemies have already been capped after seven NG+ cycles. Sure, the enemies in the DLC will likely be even harder, and Shadow of the Erdtree could buff them beyond the seven-cycle cap, but even still. Will this make a dent in those who have reached max level, or even those who are level 400 and beyond? We’re not convinced. Finally, here’s the main reason we don’t fear the Elden Ring expansion’s new leveling system; we did the work. We already earned the skills and understand what it takes to move through the Lands Between as opponent after opponent falls to our blades. FromSoftware already made us run the gauntlet, several times if you count the Dark Souls games, Demon’s Souls, and Bloodborne too. We know how to analyze a boss and look for its weak spots and gaps in its defenses. It’s our skill and experience which will carry us through and it’s this skill and experience that allowed us to become overpowered in the first place. While our build, gear, and high levels help, they alone are rarely the path to victory in Souls games. The developers can add as many systems as they like to reduce our advantage, but ultimately, it’s too late to take it away. Therefore, our defiance and overconfidence – at least for now – will remain untarnished. So do your worst, FromSoftware, and remember, we’re not locked in with your bosses, they’re locked in with us. Why Elden Ring is the best 3D platforming game this year From SoftwareElden Ring is the latest brutally hard masterpiece developed by From Software, and this go-around the Souls-like game makes terrific strides in the 3D platforming genre. First and foremost, it’s impossible to overstate my affinity for 3D platforming games. Super Mario, Psychonauts, and A Hat In Time are some of my all-time favorite titles because of their mix of wonderous storytelling and tight platforming. Having spent a massive chunk of the last 25 years addicted to the genre, I like to think of myself as an expert on the genre. So when saying Elden Ring is a fantastic platforming game, that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Elden Ring is a traditional souls-like through and through, but it’s also so much more. And despite all-time greats like Kirby and Zelda releasing this year, here’s why Elden Ring is the best 3D platformer of 2022. Elden Ring’s platforming surprises players It’s nothing new for a Souls-like to let go of a player’s hand almost immediately and let them figure out everything on their own. Elden Ring follows in these footsteps but on a whole new scale. Its open world is an overwhelming landscape littered with in-game activities. Some of these activities are sections of platforming that take the player by surprise. It’s not normal for souls-like games to have real platforming sections let alone a dedicated jump button. When players come across these jumping puzzles it feels so out of place that it becomes such an exciting part of the game. Elden Ring masters player-lead exploration But what’s most exciting is when players stumble across a section of 3D platforming that feels unintentional. I first experienced this feeling when I was in Stormveil Castle. While traversing the castle’s chambers and battlements, players will notice nearby rooftops they can jump onto. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop feel like the player is breaking out of bounds or going somewhere the devs hadn’t intended. This feeling that players are getting away with something is usually reserved for speedrunners who intentionally break the game’s walls. But it wasn’t until I found my first hidden item on the rooftops that it clicked. This rooftop escapade was actually brilliant level design disguised as an oversight. And this feeling continues to repeat itself in Caelid and Lyndell, and everywhere in between. The greatest platforming section in Elden Ring First off, spoilers ahead. In addition to platforming, Elden Ring is the first souls game that has made me care about side quests. And it was during the quest to help Hyetta become a Finger Maiden that players can find the game’s best-level design. I won’t bore you with the specifics of the quest, but essentially players feed this woman grapes until she hides in a sewer cult. You’ll encounter Hyetta five times during this quest, but the last encounter is something special. Players are tasked with traversing Lyndell’s underground labyrinth of infrastructure until they find Hyetta and the “chaos fingers”. But the last stretch between a high-level boss fight and finding the maiden is astounding. There is a vertical platforming section in a tomb filled with dead soldiers. The player is serenaded by a solo violinist. And your job is to jump from jutting coffins to reach the bottom. But one slip and you’re dead. Below is a short clip of a portion of the platforming puzzle. The entire time it felt like the player wasn’t supposed to be platforming. Surely there had to be a hidden passage behind an illusory wall. But no, the reward for completing the puzzle is immense and so it has to be locked behind an equally stunning obstacle. Elden Ring’s platforming feels good Above all else, Elden Ring’s platforming controls well. If you miss a jump, it’s rarely the game’s fault. Trust me, the Hyetta quest will make players want to rip their hair out, but it’s because your jumps won’t be timed correctly. Like many of the bosses, you’ll eventually learn the correct way to jump and control your character. This practice will go on to help players in many portions of the game where precise platforming is rewarding. Elden Ring is by no means a 3D platformer, but it is the best 3D platformer this year. If other non-platforming games could incorporate this type of intelligent level design, they could evoke the same feeling of discovery as Elden Ring.

Instead it’s located in a chest in a ruined building found on the Temple Quarter, which is southwest of Raya Lucaria. Like we mentioned above, there are nine different levels of Smithing Stone, each allowing you a progressively larger level of improvement on gear. The different levels of stone are listed below, along with the maximum amount they can upgrade weapons and shields. Where to find Smithing Stones in Elden Ring If you’re just starting out in Elden Ring, the Limgrave Tunnels are a great place to find Smithing Stones. There is a boss there, but it’s not necessary to kill them to acquire the stones. Instead, you just want to keep an eye out for gold areas that appear on the wall and interact with them. Here’s where to find it. Most Souls games have an item like the Icon Shield in Elden Ring. A generally light great shield that, while not offering the best defense, makes up for it with its passive healing ability. The passive health regen is why many players will seek out the Icon Shield in the game, even if it’s just to wear it across their back while they two-hand a weapon or sling spells. This is a well-known build amongst Souls veterans. In Demon’s Souls, there was a very similar item known as the Adjudicator Shield and another in Dark Souls known as the Ancient Dragon Great Shield. Both were lighter than most great shields and provided a similar health regen buff. Here’s all we know about the Icon Shield’s location in Elden Ring, and a build to take advantage of it. Creating a health regeneration build in Elden Ring The Icon Shield’s health regen buff is very similar to another item known as the Blessed Dew Talisman. In fact, both items can be used together for their health regeneration abilities to stack. This essentially doubles your health regen and can make both items incredibly useful when used in conjunction with one another. The buff on each item is minimal but becomes a lot more effective when used alongside the other. These boss fights require you to be on your A-game, but above all else, you’ll need the patience to take a few beatings, learn the foe’s moves, and come up with the best strategy for victory. That’s exactly what popular Twitch streamer Dan Gheesling did, beating the mighty Malenia in his 2,999th attempt. Of all of Elden Ring’s bosses, Malenia is widely considered to be one of the most challenging, thanks to her powerful strikes that replenish her health bar while laying waste to yours. So when TikTok user YourOldPalJosh was able to get their hands on a portable TV from the 90s, he decided it would be more interesting to reverse engineer Elden Ring and essentially demake it. They explained the entire process and what they did, including acquiring a TV adapter, a PS4 Pro, a downscaler, and some classic red, yellow, and white composite cables. They then connected it all together, and lo and behold, Elden Ring became playable on the 23-year-old portable TV. After signing into their PlayStation account, they booted up Elden Ring, and we got to see the title screen and all, before getting a glimpse at how Elden Ring played on it. Suffice to say that the game doesn’t look as dashing and as jaw-droppingly beautiful when played on an old mini TV. To some viewers, this was a shock, meanwhile, certain theories had Qimir marked early on. What should surprise everyone is that a major aspect of the character was inspired by Elden Ring. In an interview with Inverse, The Acolyte Showrunner Leslye Headland explained how Elden Ring influenced the show’s primary antagonist. Headland revealed that it wasn’t any of the iconic Demigods of FromSoftware’s most recent Soulsborne that had an impact on Qimir, but instead its community of players. Specifically, the armorless Tarnished who pride themselves on their dodging ability. Some monsters are just trying to live their best life, hanging out in the Realm of Shadow. These include the Spirit Eel, which looks like a horrifying mummified snake, but the vast majority of them will leave you alone so long as you back off and don’t attack it. It seems a lot of Elden Ring players didn’t get the memo. According to an anniversary post released by Bandai Namco, the Spirit Eel enemies have killed players over a quarter of a million times. What’s surprising is that some fans didn’t even know you could fall in combat against the big blue sausages, as pointed out by users of the Elden Ring Reddit. “Didn’t even know you can die from these nerds lol. RIP The Fallen Tarnished,” one user wrote, while another said, “Why on earth would you antagonize the Ghibli Wigglies?” I must admit, to my eternal shame, that I also fell to the Spirit Eels. Twitch streamer beats Elden Ring’s Malenia on PC & PS5 at the same time with a dance pad Twitch: MissMikkaaA Twitch streamer managed to beat Elden Ring’s arguably hardest boss fight, Malenia, while playing on PC and PS5 simultaneously. To up the ante though, she used a Dance Dance Revolution dance pad to play on PC. There’s hardly a better feeling in Elden Ring than taking down Malenia. But for Twitch streamer ‘MissMikkaa’, there was an extra special meaning to her most recent clear of the tough boss. After previously beating her with just one hand on her controller, she took up the challenge of handicapping herself even further, playing on two consoles at once while using a DDR dance pad to control one of her characters. In the clip where she manages to achieve this near impossible achievement, her characters are shown dodge rolling around the boss. For a moment, both characters are in the final stage of the boss fight. She finished with her DDR pad first, before focusing on playing on controller. “I have no stamina, what am I doing,” she states, before taking a deep breathe and focusing up. Her eyes are glued to the screen, as she sees victory within grasp. She slices away at her foe, who has only a sliver of health left. “Come on, bleed for me. Come on…. Yes!” she cheered, then letting out a gleeful laugh and falling to the floor. Her hands are shaking, and her happiness is quite palpable. Her chat celebrated the moment with her, but also wondered what is next for the Twitch streamer who makes the impossible possible. “3 screen run incoming,” one Reddit user joked. In any other context, this would ridiculously impossible. But seeing as how she managed to beat the boss with one hand, and has two hands at her disposable alongside her feet as well by using the DDR dance pad, MissMikkaa seems like the only person in existence to ever be realistically considered for such a feat. “Legitimately one of the most impressive gamers I’ve ever witnessed,” another praised.

Sony buys stake in Elden Ring developer FromSoftware Bandai Namco EntertainmentSony is buying a small stake in Elden Ring developer FromSoftware, alongside Tencent subsidiary, Sixjoy Hong Kong. FromSoftware and its parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, have enjoyed an incredibly fruitful year, thus far. This is due in no small part to the launch of Elden Ring, the action RPG that took the world by storm upon its release in late February. As of this past June, the role-playing title had sold a staggering 16.6 million units across PC and consoles. Because of this, FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco have expressed an interest in exploring Elden Ring in other mediums of entertainment. Soon, Elden Ring won’t constitute the only key to FromSoftware’s forward expansion. Sony to partially own Elden Ring developer FromSoftware Today, August 31, Kadokawa Corporation published a notice stating its intent to sell shares of FromSoftware to two entities – Sony Interactive Entertainment and Tencent subsidiary Sixjoy Hong Kong. Official documents (via VGC) reveal the issue of said shares will result in Sixjoy owning 16.25 percent of the Elden Ring maker. Sony’s minority stake in the studio will amount to 14.09 percent; meanwhile, Kadokawa’s ownership should extend to the remaining 69.66 percent. Because the “enhancement of capabilities for the creation, development, and deployment of game IP” counts among its “highest priorities,” Kadokawa permitted FromSoftware to devise a “third-party allotment” to Sony and Sixjoy. This arrangement secures additional funding for the Dark Souls creator, which should aid in its attempts to publish its titles globally. At present, FromSoftware publishes internal works in Japan, then partners with others for global distribution. (Activision Blizzard managed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, for instance; Bandai Namco publishes the Souls games – barring Bloodborne.) Players looking to get an edge over the deadly bosses that inhabit the Lands Between have found an exploit to help them level up quickly. The method pays out as much as five million runes in just an hour. Elden Ring rune exploit is game-breaking Although the exploit is technically a mid-game location, Elden Ring’s open-world design allows fans to find it as early as a few hours into the game. In order to gain access to the method, players need to first defeat Godrick the Grafted at Stormveil Castle. Going back to the First Step after defeating the boss and speaking to the NPC White-Faced Varre will then kick off a questline. Completing the mission will then give you an item that lets you fast-travel to Mohgwyn Palace where the insane rune exploit is located. In the Mohgwn Palace, there is a Site of Grace located at the Palace Approach Ledge-Road. Using a long-ranged weapon or spell, players can then hit a large bird enemy across the map who then dives off the cliff to their death, giving 11,000 runes in seconds. YouTuber ‘RageGamingVideos‘ covered the method extensively and shows the steps to achieve it. How to perform Elden Ring rune exploit: Defeat Godrick the Grafted at Stormveil Castle. – Return to the First Step Site of Grace and talk to the Varre. – Go to the Round Table and talk to Two-Fingers. – Head North to Liurnia of the Lake and go to the Rose Church where Varre will now be standing. – Speak to Varre who will then give you an item that allows you to invade other players. – Invade another world three times. Even if you die, it doesn’t matter. After completing it speak to Varre once more. – Varre will then give you a cloth that needs to be soaked in Maiden’s blood. – Go to the Church of Inhibition South of the Grand Lift of Dectus and soak the cloth with the Dead Maiden in the church. – Return to Varre and accept his blood blessing. He will now give you the Pureblood Knight’s Medal. – Use the medal to instantly travel to the Mohgwyn Palace. – Once there, turn around and use Torrent to travel left of the blood river until you eventually go up a cliffside to find the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace. – After saving at the Grace Site, look across the map and lock on to the giant bird enemy across the map. Hit it with a long-range spell or weapon. – The bird will turn around and throw itself off the cliff, giving you 11,000 runes. Rest and rinse and repeat the method over and over. – Those not wanting to take on the Varre quest, actually have an alternate path to the exploit. YouTuber ‘Arekkz Gaming‘ details another fast-travel portal in the snow mountains of the Concentrated Grounds. The new exploit is allowing players to gain as much as five million runes an hour. Those who have the Golden Scarab item can even get as much as 18k every three seconds which is even more absurd. He’s heard the game is a “buggy mess” on PC and wants it to be fixed before he jumps onboard. Elden Ring’s launch has been a resounding success. Not only in terms of critical acclaim but also player counts and viewership. However, the PC version has been marred by performance issues, which the developers have acknowledged. It’s dampened the hype a little, but it hasn’t stopped most Twitch streamers from wanting to play the game. Shroud is an exception, though. He told fans he’s in “no rush” to play because he wants these issues fixed. “I’m going to play. I’m just not going to play right now,” he said on stream. “I heard it’s kind of a buggy mess right now on PC. There’s a lot of stuttering issues and crashes and all that.” Shroud also said he’s heard it’s not the best port going around. “It’s an okay port. It’s not a bad port, but it’s not a good port either. It’s kind of in the middle. So, I’m just kind of waiting. I’ll play it later. I’m in no rush.” The developers are currently working to fix these issues. However, there’s been no mention of how long it could take. Therefore, it could be a while before we see him hack and slash his way through Elden Ring. In the meantime, he’ll be streaming plenty of Lost Ark, which he admitted he’s now addicted to. Should Elden Ring have an easy difficulty mode? FromSoftwareNow that Elden Ring is out in the wild, players are realizing just how difficult it is. It’s left many debating whether the game would benefit from an easy difficulty mode, or if the game’s vision should be left unaltered. Elden Ring has been pretty much inescapable since its release, with gamers everywhere weighing in with their opinions on the latest FromSoftware title. The most divisive debates across social media, though, have revolved around its difficulty level. While seasoned Souls players are enjoying the challenge, newcomers are giving up altogether and streamers are ragequitting. This is a game that’s so hard, even its director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has said he feels “apologetic” to those struggling. Here, two members of the Dexerto team, Lloyd Coombes and Daniel Megarry, go head-to-head to try and provide an answer to the burning question: Should all games, even Elden Ring, have an easy difficulty mode? Changing Elden Ring’s difficulty removes much of the game’s soul Elden Ring is essentially the only Souls-style game I’ve put more than a few hours into (outside of titles I’ve reviewed in the past), and it’s not because it’s any easier. It’s because the open-world nature of the game means if I feel like I’m stuck (looking at you, Margit the Fell Omen), I can head off and circle back to an encounter when I feel more powerful. If I could easily walk through the game’s main path, it’s highly unlikely I’d have spent the best part of a dozen hours in the early game searching every nook and cranny for anything to help me level up, new tools to use, or upgrade materials for my weapons. And yet, I do concede that the difficulty will diminish Elden Ring’s appeal somewhat on a mainstream level. I know more casual players who have invested in the game, only to bounce off within hours and find themselves out of pocket. Elden Ring’s world deserves to be explored, for sure, but part of what makes it so mystifying is knowing you’re not supposed to be there and the fear that comes with unfamiliarity. There are so many wild moments that have occurred just while exploring The Lands Between that I simply wouldn’t have seen had I not been slain multiple times by Margit. Three optional bosses, including a dragon that came out of nowhere, were great fun to tackle, and not only gave me tangible benefits but experiential ones, too: my confidence grew. Whether you’re mowing down enemies in Call of Duty or bouncing on Goombas in Super Mario, the rush of accomplishment you get when finishing a tricky level or figuring out how to defeat that final boss is something that simply can’t be recreated outside of video games. It’s why we keep coming back to them. But there’s a point where challenges become more infuriating than fun. I loved the quirky humor and art style of Cuphead, for example, but the ridiculous difficulty curve eventually became too much, and it remains in my shameful collection of unfinished games to this day. I’m having a similar problem with Elden Ring, and I’m definitely not alone here; I’ve seen plenty of players give up in the early stages of the game, before they’ve even made it past the first boss battle. Being able to lower the difficulty slightly would probably have been enough for them to stick around, but the mere suggestion of an easy mode has ignited fierce debates across social media. Why wouldn’t anyone want the option for an easy difficulty mode? Well, a quick scroll through Twitter brings up several arguments; One viral tweet claims that it would be like “asking Animal Crossing to add combat” – making it a “different game” entirely – while another person is worried it would “ruin what makes the game special”. That last point seems to be a common view, but I have to ask: If a game relies on the fact that it’s (often infuriatingly) difficult to be considered ‘special’, is it really that special? I’d argue that an immersive world, clever enemy designs, solid gameplay mechanics, and original ideas are far more important. Elden Ring offers all of those things, so why is keeping the high difficulty level such a point of contention? Beyond telling those struggling to simply ‘get good’ at Elden Ring, it’s also worth remembering that not every person has the same skill level or accessibility requirements. What’s easy for one player may be impossible for another, and offering a scale of difficulty gives everyone a level playing field – or at least the option to have one, if they want it. Elden Ring isn’t a competitive title. This isn’t Apex Legends or Warzone, where being better than everyone else is the whole point of the game. It’s a (mostly) solo adventure that each player should be able to enjoy at their own pace, for their own abilities. Another player using easy mode wouldn’t have any impact on your individual experience with the game, so why should it matter? By adding difficulty options, purists would still be able to experience the game as it was originally intended to be played, but those who find themselves struggling could get a leg-up so they can enjoy the game, too. Shadow of the Erdtree: Should FromSoftware just make it Elden Ring 2? FromSoftwareAs Elden Ring approaches its second anniversary, does it still make sense to release Shadow of the Erdtree as an expansion? Or should it simply become part of Elden Ring 2? If you had told us back in 2022 that we’d still be waiting for Elden Ring DLC in 2024 as the second anniversary rolls around, we’d likely blast some Glintstone at you. Yet, that is the very situation fans find themselves in right now. It’s strange, as back when the game was released, Elden Ring was the hottest thing in town, even overshadowing equally fantastic games like Horizon Forbidden West. However, two years later, we still find ourselves waiting for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Elden Ring was the culmination of FromSoftware’s Souls series and the first game to feature a truly open world, changing the genre forever. As a year passed, many players told themselves to be patient, and that the Shadow of the Ertree DLC was coming soon, we even made the case for why Elden Ring fans should be so excited. However, we must confess that even our optimism is starting to wear thin. Waiting for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC As we approach the two-year mark, the expansion is starting to feel a little bit like the video game equivalent of the upcoming A Song of Ice and Fire novel, The Winds of Winter – the involvement of George R.R. Martin in writing some of Elden Ring’s lore being only a coincidence, of course. But it’s becoming increasingly difficult to not draw a parallel between the two. Yet something else is starting to worry us when it comes to the Elden Ring DLC; at what point does FromSoftware simply change its mind and turn these ideas into Elden Ring 2 instead? You’ve got to assume that From is hard at work on both projects and the longer it takes for Shadow of the Erdtree to arrive, the more likely this scenario becomes. We’re reminded of Final Fantasy Versus XIII evolving into Final Fantasy XV after it just made more sense to retool the assets. Let’s not forget, that FFXV was once a FFXIII spin-off, or was at least conceived as one. This also turned out to be a positive thing. While FFXV certainly has its critics, the game is generally more highly regarded than anything in the Fabula Nova Crystallis family of Final Fantasy games. So you’ve got to start asking yourselves, at this point, should FromSoftware just focus on Elden Ring 2? If we look at the Dark Souls games, there was a two-year wait between Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3. This includes DLC and even Bloodborne being released in between. So assuming that Shadow of the Erdtree doesn’t stealth release on February 25, and even if a release date is revealed on the second anniversary, FromSoftware has already blasted past its typical release cycle with the expansion development time. To be fair to the veteran developer though, Elden Ring is by far a more ambitious title than any of the Dark Souls games were, so perhaps comparing them this way isn’t a helpful reflection of the situation. Shadow of the Erdtree is also likely to be the biggest expansion of a Souls game to date, explaining the prolonged development time. Should the focus be on Elden Ring 2? While there will likely be separate dev teams working on both, it stands to reason that abandoning or folding Shadow of the Erdtree into Elden Ring 2 would speed up the development of the sequel. If the wait for the DLC is indeed over two years, just imagine how long a true follow-up to Elden Ring is going to be? And the longer it takes, the likelihood of the expansion becoming a standalone entry or part of the sequel increases. If we’re still in this situation in another year’s time, then it starts to become a very real possibility. An Elden Ring 2 is inevitable, and that will increasingly become publisher Bandai Namco’s priority. We want to be clear, all art, be it a game expansion or the next novel in a beloved series, will be ready when it’s ready. This is not intended to apply pressure to FromSoftware as developers and creators. We are simply pointing out that the priorities of publishers and the inevitable march of time can and do lead to plans changing. We look forward to hopping back on Torrent and returning to the Lands Between under the Shadow of the Erdtree – but if that happens under a different guise, then so be it. For the record, we don’t think that Shadow of the Erdtree will be retooled into Elden Ring 2. It’s likely too deep into development for this to be the case, at least we hope so. While we don’t know for certain, at this moment we’re of the view that a release date for the expansion isn’t too far away, and as we’ve said before, the best is yet to come. However, this is a possibility that hangs over Shadow of the Erdtree. And if February 25 comes and goes without a whisper, then this is something every Tarnished needs to keep in the back of their minds. Shadow of the Erdtree is so big players are calling it Elden Ring 2 FromSoftwareWith Shadow of the Erdtree out, players are taken aback by how large Elden Ring’s first and only DLC really is. It’s at the point where people have just defaulted to calling it Elden Ring 2. Leading up to the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, FromSoftware was very tight-lipped on what players could expect, especially regarding the scope of the DLC. Sure, content creators were taking educated guesses on how big the Land of Shadow would be, and sure, Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in an interview with IGN that it would be around the size of Limgrave, or a little larger than it. Yet, upon sauntering into the Shadow Realm, it became clear to players that Miyazaki undersold how massive the new setting would be. Elden Ring layers far and wide have been left speechless by Shadow of the Erdtree’s scope. Some have even gone on to say it should be titled Elden Ring 2. “It was too large to be called a DLC, too polished, too based. It was more like a huge sequel,” one Reddit user shared. Another added: “Yeah I am very overwhelmed with how big this sh*t is. No way in hell is this a DLC.” One comment even mentioned how much the video game industry has changed, as they likened Shadow of the Erdtree to an expansion rather than a DLC. The size of the DLC isn’t the only shocker, as players have learned how hard Shadow of the Erdtree is. Incredible builds are being demolished left and right, and content creators around the world are rage-quitting the game. If you ask Miyazaki, however, that’s because he wants players to have a sense of achievement after overcoming insurmountable odds. It’s also dethroned The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion to claim the label of highest-rated DLC of all time.

Shadow of the Erdtree enemy is giving players Bloodborne flashbacks FromSoftwareFromSoftware showed off a new enemy coming in Shadow of the Erdtree, and it’s giving players flashbacks of Bloodborne. While there was no mention of what this enemy is called, it was revealed in an X post by FromSoftware to tease the upcoming Elden Ring expansion. The image immediately evokes some kind of resemblance to a Lovecraftian creation, which has the community flashing back to Bloodborne, another FromSoftware title whose design was heavily influenced by the famous writer’s works. Bloodborne’s enemies were very Eldritchesque, from its smallest monsters to the biggest bosses. Covered in tentacles with cosmic powers; just what a Lovecraft story would have. The Shadow of the Erdtree creature echoes this with its tall stature and paper-thin limbs. Its massive head looks to have glowing orange spots and small tentacles coming off of it. These enemies were known for their grab attacks that immediately dish out Frenzy damage, a status effect that caused huge damage to the player. Others think this new enemy looks like the Winter Lantern from Bloodborne, another fearsome enemy that would quickly inflict Frenzy on a person. The similarity in appearance to both enemies has players on edge as to what this new creation can do in Shadow of the Erdtree. Elden Ring does possess its own kind of Frenzy status effect called Madness, which can not only deal solid damage to a person, but also takes away their Focus Points and stops them from being able to use spells. It’s possible that this monster will inflict Madness in a player if they are caught offguard by it. However, that is only speculation and there is nothing confirming this to be the case. The Elden Ring community won’t know exactly what this adversary can do until Shadow of the Erdtree officially releases.

Scadutree Fragment bug is preventing Elden Ring players from reaching max level FromSoftwareElden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a new leveling system through the Scadutree Fragments. However, now a bug is preventing some players from finding them all. Those who play through Shadow of the Erdtree in a linear fashion will soon come unstuck by some of the DLC’s double-tough bosses. To help players boost their stats and become more powerful, players are encouraged to explore the world and track down the 50 Scadutree Fragments. Consuming these at Sites of Grace will increase their Scadutree level, but to reach the max level, they’ll need all 50 Scadutree Fragments. However, a game-breaking bug is preventing players from achieving this, essentially forcing them to face some bosses without being able to reach their full power potential. You see, some Scadutree Fragments are held by creepy shadow people carrying pots. These enemies sparkle so are easily distinguishable from their less important counterparts. They’ll also try to escape when they spot you, giving the player a brief time window to get in, kill them, pick up the fragment, and then get away. Should the player fail to catch one, they’ll just respawn so this can be attempted again. However, if the player kills one of these sparkly pot carriers but then dies before they pick it up, the enemy will respawn but the Scadutree Fragment won’t. This locks the player out of retrieving them all, meaning that they can’t use all 50 and, therefore, can’t reach max level. Since the DLC was released, players are starting to realize this and have expressed their frustration. “I genuinely cannot f****** believe they didn’t recognize that this would be a problem and I am so f****** angry I can literally never get max level on this character on this ng cycle now. What the f***,” wrote one player on Reddit. Another said: “Welcome to the club, I’m missing a single Scadutree Fragment from the Rauh Ruins too. It stings so much considering how little I’ve missed otherwise.” Others questioned why the item even needs to be picked up, saying: “Why would they not just have it go straight to your inventory? It makes zero f****** sense.” Some players were hopeful that FromSoftware would address the issue and allow the Scadutree Fragments to respawn in their pot holders, allowing players to try again: “Hopefully a patch for it soon [will be released] as it’s pretty stupid that they wouldn’t drop it again if you died before getting it.” Chances are, this is simply an oversight by the developers and that an upcoming patch will allow players to not be locked out of reaching max level.

How to use Rune Arcs and Great Runes in Elden Ring Great Runes are special items dropped by the main bosses of the game. Each one holds a different Great Rune, and players will need to collect them all throughout the course of their adventures to finish the game. After finding one, you’ll need to restore it at a Divine Tower located in the same region you encountered the boss. You’ll be able to equip it after that, although it won’t provide any benefits on its own. You’ll need to use a Rune Arc to draw out its power. The process is as simple as equipping the Great Rune of your choice and consuming a Rune Arc. The benefits it provides depends on which Great Rune you have equipped. However, the effects are only temporary. For example, Godrick’s Great Rune provides a temporary bonus to all your attributes. Radahn’s Great Rune, on the other hand, provides a temporary boost to health, stamina, and FP. These effects are lost upon death. Where to find Rune Arcs and Great Runes in Elden Ring As mentioned above, Great Runes drop from killing main bosses. You’ll need to power through the game to find them all. However, Rune Arcs are far more common. They can even be bought from merchants. Rune Arcs drop from defeating bosses when summoned into another player’s game. They also drop from Rats and can be found in various locations throughout the game, including Academy Crystal Cave, Altus Tunnel, and more. The Nomadic Merchant in Liurnia of the Lakes sells one for 4,000 Runes. Enia at the Roundtable Hold also sells one for 4,000 Runes. Where to find the Rivers of Blood katana in Elden Ring The Rivers of Blood Katana is located in the Mountaintops of the Giants. In order to get there, simply follow the instructions outlined below. Head over to the Grand Lift of Rold. – Follow the northeastern path. – Once at the Freezing Lake, head directly south. – Run past the Giants’ Gravepost and continue south towards the Foot of the Forge. – Follow the path from the Foot of the Forge until you see the Church of Repose. – Upon your arrival at the church, Bloody Finger Okina will spawn and try to take you down with his cursed blade. If you manage to beat him in combat, the invader will drop the Rivers of Blood and the Okina Mask. Rivers of Blood overview You can wield the Rivers of Blood Katana in Elden Ring once you’ve got 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Arcane. The weapon can inflict slash and piercing damage and cause a Blood Loss build-up of 50 which makes it a solid option for fighting at mid-range. It can be sold for a cost of 500 Runes. Rivers of Blood’s weapon skill is Corpse Pillar which forms a blade of cursed blood to deliver a succession of powerful attacks at the enemy. You can also input the skill up to 3 additional times for even more damage. You can’t infuse this Katana with Ashes of War, boost its power with Consumables, or enchant it with Magic.
