  • New York foodies tricked by friend group turning their inside joke into fake restaurant – Dexerto

New York foodies tricked by friend group turning their inside joke into fake restaurant TikTok: willyhoppsA friend group decided to turn an inside joke into an exclusive restaurant that opened for only one night, tricking New York foodies who had been waiting for over a year. The Shed at Dulwich was a 2017 hoax that saw journalist Oobah Butler set up a fake restaurant in his backyard by making it the top-rated restaurant in London on TripAdvisor. Serving £1 ready-meals to ten customers, some diners said they would recommend the restaurant to others by the end of the experience. In an article for Vice, Butler wrote that the hoax demonstrated “Society’s willingness to believe absolute bulls**t.” And now, it has been done again — a friend group’s inside joke has fooled New York foodies into waiting almost one year for an exclusive restaurant that doesn’t exist. The joke began when college student Mehran Jalali began hosting biweekly steak dinners for his housemates and friends in their Upper East Side apartment in 2021. Setting up a Google page so that the group could leave reviews for each meal, “Mehran’s Steakhouse” was born. And with the caliber of comments left behind, it wasn’t long before New York foodies started to take notice. “Never have I tasted something so delicious and exquisite. As you take a bite, your entire being is transported to pure bliss and serenity. It’s evident that the steak was cooked by the hands of god,” one reviewer wrote. Another said, “I am unwilling to say any more about the details of this excursion as it was a deeply emotional experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.” After creating a fake website for their steakhouse, the friends decided to bring the restaurant to life for one night after their waitlist grew to nearly 3,000 names. At $114 a head, approximately 140 diners showed up at a venue the group had booked out and decorated. The unsuspecting restaurant-goers were then served by 65 of the group’s friends, many of whom had zero hospitality experience. The night included a fake proposal, Drake fans, and a menu based on the lifecycle of a cow. Most diners did catch onto the hoax but nonetheless enjoyed being part of the joke. However, not everyone was impressed to see the friend group capitalizing on Butler’s idea; “What made The Shed impressive was that they did it [with] much less resources [and money]. The fact they don’t acknowledge The Shed is weird.” Check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

  • New video shows Dillon Danis POV from Jake Paul water balloon attack – Dexerto

New video shows Dillon Danis POV from Jake Paul water balloon attack Jake Paul/Below the BeltA new YouTube video from Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub shows Jake Paul’s water balloon attack on MMA fighter Dillon Danis from the receiving point of view, and the reaction after he had driven off. The beef between Dillon Danis and Jake Paul has been brewing for years now, with the two stars going back and forth across social media multiple times in the past. Now that Paul boasts a 2-0 record after beating Nate Robinson, he’s on the prowl for new opponents, and Danis seems to be at the top of his list. On December 15 Jake posted a video to Twitter that showed him rolling up and tossing water balloons and toilet paper on Danis while the fighter gave an interview streetside in LA, before driving off and laughing. Caught the biggest shit talker slacking @dillondanis you gotta check in when you come to La. #GenerousDriveBy pic.twitter.com/460MjnO3F6 — Jake Paul (@jakepaul) December 15, 2020 Now, we finally have a view of the other side of things thanks to YouTube channel Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub, who has come out with the interview of Danis that includes Paul’s attack as it happened. Just like in Paul’s clip, Danis gets pelted with water balloons before attempting to chase the truck. After it speeds off, he heads back to the interview and explains what was going through his head. “I didn’t want to get too close, because I thought he was going to hit me with something else,” an out of breath Danis explained. “I was gonna try and jump on the truck but I didn’t get it, I was so close though.” Timestamp at 5:10 in the video below for mobile viewers. Even though he didn’t catch the car, the MMA star did hint at what would have happened In the event he did, and it doesn’t sound like it would have ended too well. “With them, it’s like they don’t understand what would happen in a real situation, you know what I mean?” Danis explained. “What would’ve happened right there if I had gotten into the back of that car, was that all of those guys would’ve gotten f***ing strangled.” As if this wasn’t scary enough, MMA’s Joe Rogan has also weighed in to warn Paul that, compared to his other opponents, Danis is “top of the food chain.” “Let me tell you something. If Dillon Danis gets a hold of you, you’re gonna get your arms broken, you’re getting your neck strangled off,” Rogan said on his podcast shortly after the incident.“Dillon Danis is a world-class grappler. Top of the food chain.” At the time of writing Danis and Paul aren’t scheduled to face off in the ring, but that could all change soon. Along with Connor McGregor, the 27-year-old is definitely at the top of Jake’s list to fight next, with the YouTuber putting up $50 million dollars to try and make it happen. With that kind of money on the line, we wouldn’t be surprised if something eventually does get worked out but for now, Paul might want to count himself lucky that Danis didn’t end up catching that truck.

  • New viral plane woman emerges as influencer has meltdown and fights with passengers – Dexerto

New viral plane woman emerges as influencer has meltdown and fights with passengers X.com: thatjimmytrAnother woman is going viral for having a meltdown on an airplane — this time getting into a heated verbal spat with another passenger. It’s no secret that air travel can be an aggravating experience for just about anyone… but it certainly seems like flying has become an extreme stressor as of late. Just over the past few months alone, a slew of viral incidents have cropped up on airplanes. From a person forcing a plane to land after having “biohazard” diarrhea in the cabin to a woman claiming one of her fellow passengers was “not real,” it seems like airplanes can bring out the worst in us — both figuratively and literally. Now, another woman is taking social media by storm after getting into an argument on an airplane, and it’s leaving the internet divided. “Instagram-famous” woman goes viral after fighting with passengers on plane A video has been circling social media showing a woman being escorted off her flight while arguing with another passenger. “Call me a b*tch again,” the woman says. “Yeah, I did nothing wrong.” “I said, ‘Shut up,’” a person off-camera responds. “No, you shut the f*ck up,” she retorts, before noticing the person filming her as she walks down the aisle. “Film me, I’m Instagram famous, you bum.” Netizens were quick to criticize the woman, with many taking issue with her mention of being “Instagram-famous.” Who is Morgan Osman? Woman goes viral for airplane freakout The woman in question is actually a former Bad Girls Club star named Morgan Osman, who boasts nearly one million followers on Instagram. After her stint on reality TV, she’s now a full-time fashion designer based out of Los Angeles and Miami… and it doesn’t look like she’s letting the backlash from her airplane outburst get to her. Osman posted a slew of screenshots from headlines taken from different publications to her Instagram stories, captioning them with quips like, “I said what I said, you f*cking bums,” and, “Don’t act like y’all don’t know who the f*ck I am. From Bad Girls Club to the south of France with billboards all over LA. Come on, now.” It’s clear that Osman doesn’t give a flying hoot about what everyone’s saying online after unleashing her inner Bad Girl. She’s owning her moment — a stark contrast from the “not real” plane woman, who released an apology video after her outburst went viral and even used her fame to help victims of the wildfires in Maui.

  • Valkyrae’s new YouTube Gaming deal will see her stay on platform until 2024 – Dexerto

Valkyrae’s new YouTube Gaming deal will see her stay on platform until 2024 YouTube: ValkyraeRachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter will sit on her YouTube streaming throne for another two years, the 100 Thieves co-owner has revealed, extending her time on Google’s powerhouse video website to at least four years. Valkyrae first joined YouTube back in early 2020 and spent the next two years streaming exclusively on the Google-owned website as her fanbase continued to grow. There were question marks over whether the 100 Thieves owner would be staying with YouTube after her 24-month deal, especially after she hurried to wrap up all her agreed hours at the tail end of 2021. These questions only compounded after she dropped a cryptic teaser in January. On January 31, however, she confirmed she’s staying. Not only that, but Valkyrae’s extension will see her stay on the red platform until January 2024 — the 100 Thieves star has signed a two-year extension. Valkyrae’s new contract is likely quite similar to her original 2020 sign-up, where the 30-year-old agreed to stream a certain amount of hours each calendar year on YouTube’s Gaming category. This deal left her racing the clock late last year after she realized she still had 198-hours to serve. It also confirms her status as YouTube’s stream-queen. Dexerto first dubbed Hofstetter the “Queen of YouTube” back in March 2021, days after the streamer appeared in Machine Gun Kelly’s “DAYWALKER!” video clip. Since then, Valkyrae has climbed to even greater heights. This year saw her barrel right past 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube, and regularly rakes in nearly 20k viewers — on average — with each of her streams. The 30-year-old is so popular that only Amouranth and her 38.8 million hours watched overshadowed the Los Angeles personality last year. Across the 2021 calendar year, Valkyrae boasted 30.6 million streaming hours watched, firmly confirming her as the world’s second-largest female stream-star. The 100 Thieves co-owner’s eventual choice to stay on YouTube is, in the end, not a surprising move — Valkyrae has been a major advocate for streamers joining the platform since she ditched Twitch in a shock 2020 swap. Since her pivot, YouTube has managed to score several major streamer scalps too. TimTheTatman and Ludwig became two of the most high-profile signings at the tail end of last year, and other major stars like DrLupo and CouRage also stream exclusively on the platform too. On her YouTube future, Hofstetter said: “The streaming side has a lot of room to grow. They’re working on it. I’m happy here. Seeing how hungry they are is exciting.”

  • New video from CEO of company behind Tanacon details what led to riot at the event – Dexerto

New video from CEO of company behind Tanacon details what led to riot at the event TanaCon was a disaster and the new video from Good Life CEO Michael Weist, the company that set up the event, goes behind the scenes to show what went wrong. For the uninitiated, TanaCon was an event held in competition with VidCon, happening the same weekend in the hotel next door to the massive event in Anaheim, California. It was led by YouTuber Tana Mongeau and promised appearances from big-name YouTubers like Shane Dawson, Casey Neistat and Bella Thorne. Before long, the event completely fell apart. Fans had to wait hours outside without food or water vendors leading to people passing out and a massive amount of sunburns. Read More: PewDiePie Accuses of Tana Mongeau of Scamming Fans After Failed TanaCon – “She should go to jail” – Once inside, the event didn’t actually have much to do. It quickly reached capacity and the first day was shut down by the police with many people still waiting outside. The second day was canceled and fans clamored for refunds. Somehow, Weist, not Mongeau, ended up on the hook for refunds and he had to file for bankruptcy because of how many refunds were demanded. Mongeau mocked Weist with a Halloween costume featuring him and joking about his impending bankruptcy. In return, Weist dropped this video: Thus far, the video features unseen raw footage of the initial planning meetings with Mongeau, Weist, and the rest of their team. As it’s a YouTube live presentation, it’s unclear exactly what else will be uncovered by the end of the live stream, but Weist is promising that this will clear the air as to “what really happened” at the infamous event.

  • New Twitter trick with Spaces is sending tweets viral – Dexerto

New Twitter trick with Spaces is sending tweets viral Unsplash: Sara KurfeßTwitter users have discovered a new trick on the platform to send their tweets viral — and it’s all about integrating Spaces into content. Just by simply adding a link to Twitter’s in-app chat rooms has seen tweets rocket to the top of the algorithm. Social media is just a game of algorithms for most. If you want your content to go viral, you’ll need to appease the overlords of your respective platform so it gets seen by more people. Twitter users only have 280 characters to make theirs shine, and usually there’s a few hashtags involved in getting traction. However, some users have found a new trick with the platform’s Spaces feature to get even more interaction. More and more tweets on the platform are going viral by simply including a link to a Twitter Space related to the topic at hand. is posting a fucking spaces link the new algorithm exploit?? lmao pic.twitter.com/mUJ2zEl6M4 — dm4 (@dm4uz3) March 12, 2022 “Spaces is a new way to have live audio conversations on Twitter,” the platform states on its website, which essentially lets users give live shows with listeners dropping in and out. The host can control who has speaking privileges, and they also appear front and center on the app. While Twitter’s algorithm is a tight-knit secret, it appears that just including a link to a Twitter Space can increase the reach of a tweet. Users also realized the opposite happens when you include outbound links to other platforms like Twitch and Patreon. The algorithm doesn’t like it when your tweet directs people off the website or app, and doesn’t show them as much. This is all conjecture really without Twitter’s official word — but these trends are hardly hidden for those active on the platform. So, if you really want to send your tweets viral, maybe look at opening up a Twitter Space and linking to it when you post next.

  • New Twitter policy bans accounts promoting other social media platforms – Dexerto

New Twitter policy bans accounts promoting other social media platforms TwitterA new Twitter policy will prohibit accounts and posts from promoting other social media platforms. • New Twitch safety feature lets streamers ban users from viewing their streams – Dexerto

New Twitch safety feature lets streamers ban users from viewing their streams TwitchTwitch is giving streamers more power over who is able to view their broadcasts in the form of a new safety feature. Streamers have been able to block users from their chats for a long time, but a new update is letting them completely hide their streams from those who have been banned. The long-requested feature could be a game-changer for streamers who have been dealing with harassment by making their broadcasts virtually invisible to those they don’t want watching. The feature will be rolling out in September and will work instantly, meaning that a streamer could block users from being able to watch their broadcast immediately. That’s not all: It turns out, Twitch has some more functionality being tested, as well. Twitch open to letting streamers “IP ban” viewers Speaking during an episode of Twitch Patch Notes, Senior Product Manager Trevor Fisher indicated that IP bans could be on the table in the future update. While Fisher indicated that IP bans are ‘complicated,’ after getting feedback from streamers, being able to prevent certain people from watching on the account they were banned on was still highly requested. “That’s the first thing we’re able to provide here. We’ll definitely take the feedback that this is something that people want to be even more powerful,” he said. So far, the ban will not apply to VODs or clips, but that too could be changed in the future. Streamers will also have the option to turn off the ability to prevent banned users from viewing streams. It will be very interesting to see how this feature evolves and which streamers choose to enable it once it goes live next month. Until then, keep it locked to Dexerto for all the latest news around the streaming world.

  • New Twitch stats reveal how few viewers are needed to be a “top” streamer – Dexerto

New Twitch stats reveal how few viewers are needed to be a “top” streamer TwitchIn contrast to what a lot of people might think, it actually takes far fewer viewers than the hundreds or thousands that most would say one streamers to be one of the top broadcasters on Twitch.com. It’s fair to say that if you want to be a big streamer on the world wide web, Twitch definitely gives you one of the best opportunities to do so, due to the massive amount of viewers that tune in to the site each day. Of course, when you think of big Twitch streamers like xQc, Nickmercs, Pokimane, and others – they regularly draw in thousands of viewers each stream and as a result rake in some serious cash. However, some surprising new stats show that you actually don’t have to bring in anywhere near that amount to be in the top percentile of streamers. Stats pulled together by Zach Bussey, show that in the last 90 days, if any streamer (affiliate/partner or not) averaged more than six viewers, then they were in the top 6.7% of the entire site. This means that the vast majority (93.3%) of streamers on the site (partnered or not) are only pulling in five viewers or less. This also includes channels that might have only come online once, or just for a little bit. So, if you’re just starting out or getting discouraged about your channel’s growth (or lack thereof) on Twitch, remember that it only takes six or more people watching to be doing better than most other people on the site. It’s also good to remember as a viewer, because who knows? Your single view could make all the difference for a small streamer. Over the last 90-days, if you average more than 6-viewers, you are in the top 6.7% of Twitch. 11 or more, puts you in the top 3.1%, To get into the top 1%, you need 51 or more viewers. pic.twitter.com/LPdpzHRafH — Zach Bussey (@zachbussey) March 5, 2021 We did mention Affiliates and Partners earlier, and when you get into those stats, things do become a bit more competitive, but surprisingly, not by very much. On reflection, I actually think this is a better comparison point than the first post. There are a lot of accounts that only stream once and skew the data to be overly ‘rosy’. If you’re a streamer wanting to ‘make it’, this paints a more competitive/realistic picture. — Zach Bussey (@zachbussey) March 5, 2021 If you’re affiliated/partnered and bringing in more than six viewers, that puts you in the top 30% of your peers. 11 or more land you in the top 15%, and finally, to get into the tippy-top 1%, you’ll need 251+ viewers. The stats for partners/affiliates are probably more in line with what people might think of when it comes to top Twitch streamers, and what it takes to join their ranks. Still, if you’re not partnered, it really doesn’t take as much as you might think to reach the upper echelons. Update, March 6: A previous version of this article did not credit Zach Bussey for his original reporting and analysis of the streaming data. We have updated to more appropriately credit and apologize for the error.

  • New Twitch extension Voicemod Bits lets viewers change streamer’s voice with donations – Dexerto

New Twitch extension Voicemod Bits lets viewers change streamer’s voice with donations VoicemodA new official Twitch extension from Voicemod, Voicemod Bits, will now allow viewers to alter their favorite streamers’ voice through donating bits – allowing fans to get involved with a fundamental aspect of a broadcast, and streamers a new way to monetize their content. Streamer’s using voice changers is nothing new of course, but Voicemod’s Twitch extension will provide easy access for more content creators to have some fun with their voice, as well as make some money from it. Bits are Twitch’s own donation system, of which the site itself takes a cut, as opposed to donating directly to the streamer through 3rd-parties and PayPal. Because Bits are linked to Twitch directly though, it opens up opportunities like this, for streamers to more directly involve their paying viewers in the broadcast itself. What is Voicemod Bits? Voicemod Bits is a new official Twitch extension from Voicemod. Launching on September 9, all streamers will be able to use the extension. There is also Voicemod PRO, which allows for tiered pricing with specific voice effects, or make the extension usable by subscribers only. Streamers have control too, over how many Bits certain effects will cost, and how long they will last. The extension has a built-in cooldown system, to avoid spam. How does Voicemod Bits work? The Voicemod Bits extension is linked directly with your Twitch channel. After obtaining a secret key from the Voicemod plugin, streamers simply need to install the extension on the Twitch dashboard, and enter the secret key. From there, content creators can select from a number of voice modifiers on the plugin. “Voicemod easily integrates with popular apps such as Stream Deck and Streamlabs OBS, as well as Skype, Discord, WhatsApp, and Zoom, and is compatible with online games including Apex Legends, Valorant, World of Warcraft, Minecraft, Among Us, League of Legends, and Fortnite,” the platform explains. The extension has already been available in early access for some select broadcasters. During this two-month period, Voicemod says over 60,000 viewers activated over 1.5 million Twitch Bits to use Voicemod Bits on streams, proving this could be a both a fun and lucrative extension for streamers. Voicemod also has a partner program for dedicated users of the extension to earn revenue, create merch and more support options. The Voicemod Bits extension is available for all streamers on Twitch to use starting September 9.

  • New Twitch feature makes it easier than ever to ban streamers for DMCA strikes – Dexerto

New Twitch feature makes it easier than ever to ban streamers for DMCA strikes TwitchTwitch has made it easier than ever for copyrighted content to be reported, which should result in more DMCA strikes and even more bans for streamers on the site. DMCA strikes have been a big issue on Twitch for over a year now, with countless streamers getting their account banned for playing copyrighted music or watching videos during broadcasts. It got so bad that many streamers didn’t even want to go outside for IRL content at the risk of having copyrighted music playing in the background, getting their channels suspended due to circumstances outside their control. While the DMCA issues have slipped into the back of people’s minds with the new outrage being the hot tub ‘meta,’ on May 4, users noticed a new page on Twitch’s site allowing for copyright claims to be filed. Twitch Just launched a new page to DMCA strike people faster and more easily and also possibly get them bannedhttps://t.co/YvIcyNDwhk This is meant to strike someone that steals your videos/emotes/music/clip but possibly people reacting to your content too if you ignore fair use pic.twitter.com/gX6n7wAhYq— Saysera (@Saysera69) May 4, 2021 The page allows anyone with a Twitch account to fill out a form to submit a “notification of claimed infringement against the unauthorized use of your copyrighted work.” So far, parties can only select live broadcasts and recorded videos to issue their claim. From there, whoever is doing the filing can select exactly what was being infringed upon with several options to choose from: video, image/photo, artwork, music, and other. The mention of “artwork” is interesting, however, as it suggests that this will make it easier for streamers to deal with having their emotes or other assets stolen and used by others. Users must also fill out their contact information and agree that the claim is filed in good faith. However, seemingly to prevent abuse of this feature, Twitch also states that users must state they are “authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed” under penalty of perjury. Viewers seem a bit mixed on the new feature, with some suspecting it will result in more bans and reports than we’d see otherwise. Twitch themselves have not yet commented on the form, as they have not a blog post or announcement on social media at the time of publication.

  • Twitch disables paid boost feature after users get banned content on front page – Dexerto

Twitch disables paid boost feature after users get banned content on front page TwitchTwitch has already decided to put a pause on its new ‘boosting’ feature after it was exploited, with some users utilizing the tool to get rule-breaking content up on the site’s front page. In October 2021, Twitch trialed an experimental feature called ‘Boost This Stream’ that allowed streamers to “boost” their streams by paying extra to have it pop up in people’s recommendations on the front page. It wasn’t well-received by the community, though. Some of the biggest streamers spoke out against it, including xQc, who claimed it was the “worst idea” he’d ever seen in his life. It was removed shortly after. In March 2022, Twitch trialed another experimental feature called Boost Train. It allowed the viewers of a random group of small streamers to turn a Hype Train into a Boost Train, which worked to a similar effect. However, it has already been disabled after one of the random streamers selected to participate in the experiment used it to promote banned content on the front page. Twitch streamer ‘TheNoosh22’ was shocked to see a thumbnail of an exposed chest in the promotion section of their front page, along with an indication that it was a paid promotion. “Hey Twitch, that ‘Pay for Promo’ thing you introduced just put this on my front page in my recommended,” they said with an accompanying picture. “I’ve been on Twitch since JTV and have been a partner for 10 years. I’ve never had this happen on my front page, and it’s there because Twitch got paid to put it there. It is the feature’s fault.” However, the image didn’t actually belong to the host of that stream. It was a picture of a model taken over a year ago. She made the claim on Twitter and in a Reddit thread about the incident and posted proof. Read More: Top 20 Twitch Streamers (March 2022) – The real culprit behind the stream has reportedly been banned, which is supported by the fact that their channel can no longer be found on the platform. Twitch pauses paid boost feature after front page debacle Hours after the front page kerfuffle occurred, Twitch has reportedly put a stop to the Boost Train experimental feature for the time being. According to reports from PC Gamer, a Twitch representative claimed they are pushing pause on boosts due to “safety-related issues that came up during testing.” No further comment was given, leaving Twitch users anxious to see what comes of this latest development, which comes just after the site revealed it is halting service on its desktop app in the near future.

New TikTok trend shows men getting vasectomies on camera TikTok: Keith_Laue, mikepridgenA new trend on TikTok has men worldwide documenting their vasectomies and their reactions during the process itself. When it comes to long-term birth control, men and women have the option of surgical procedures that reduce the chance of having a baby. However, it’s much easier for men to get a vasectomy than for women to have a tubal ligation. With TikTok being the most popular home for short-form content, male users worldwide have taken to the app to share their experiences and reactions to getting a vasectomy. Creators participating in the new trend are using the hashtag #vasectomy, which has been viewed over 500 million times, with many men filming themselves throughout the procedure. Men are getting vasectomies on camera One of the TikTokers that have gone viral documenting their experience is Keith_Laue, who uploaded a video in June. “I was awake the whole time during the procedure which was really weird but it only took 10-15 minutes so it wasn’t that bad,” he explained. At the time of writing, Laue’s video has been viewed over 3.2 million times with thousands of comments from supportive viewers. (Click here if TikTok doesn’t load) Another TikToker, Mike Pridgen, uploaded a series of videos of his reactions during the actual procedure in March 2022. His first video is captioned: “I got a vasectomy. You get to join me for the procedure. (It’s just my face! I promise!)” (Click here if TikTok doesn’t load) The vast majority of commenters on nearly every video using the hashtag support the men’s use of the platform to share their thoughts and reactions. • Trainwrecks criticizes Kick for not cracking down on viewbotted gambling streams – Dexerto

Trainwrecks criticizes Kick for not cracking down on viewbotted gambling streams Twitch: TrainwrecksTVStreamer Tyler ‘Trainwrecks’ Niknam has criticized the Kick platform for allowing streamers to inflate their views through bots, especially in regard to gambling streams. The Twitch star turned Kick.com endorser has had a long history with gambling streams, as one of its initial innovators. He was one of the first streamers on Twitch who gambled with thousands watching along live on stream thanks to his sponsorship with Stake. But it was streamers like Trainwrekcs that led other big names on the platform to call for Twitch to take action and ban gambling streams, which they eventually did, to an extent. This caused him to announce a switch to Kick, a competitor to Twitch owned by Stake. However, despite largely advocating for the platform, even helping devise new creator-friendly payment plans, not all is positive on the new site. Train himself has lashed out at recent gambling broadcasts on the platform, criticizing those who boost their views through botting services. Trainwrecks has long considered himself as a “transparent” gambling streamer, always putting a sign at the top corner of his streams to not gamble. And part of that he claims is being honest with who is watching the streams. He says, in a now-deleted Twitch stream, he is trying to solve Kick’s ongoing problems with viewbotting despite getting “heat for even speaking about it. “Realistically, I’m going to keep it a buck. If this dude viewbotted 2-3 thousand viewers, I might just say “f*** it I don’t give a f***” he said, talking about a gambling stream on Kick he shared on stream. “But when you’re viewbotting 15-20 f***ing thousand viewers a day to push predatory gambling styles to the top, I don’t like that. So I’m going to actively push to find a fix for that as soon as possible.” He says he is especially concerned since his name is largely attached to Kick as one of its largest endorsers. Exactly how the platform will look to crackdown and resolve the issue, however, remains unclear for now.

  • New TikTok house under fire for “copying” Wave House member reveal – Dexerto

New TikTok house under fire for “copying” Wave House member reveal Instagram: Icon House/ Instagram: Wave HouseA new TikTok house is under fire after fans have accused them of copying Wave House with the way it has gone about launching and revealing its members. [jwplayer ZXB9LNVP] Icon house is a brand new UK-based creator collective and since its launch on Monday, October 19, has garnered a quarter of a million followers on TikTok already. The house’s social media accounts are doing a slow reveal of all the creators, one-by-one. So far members are known to include former Love Island star Luke Mabbott, Georgia Harrison from The Only Way is Essex, Footballer Elis Watts, and model Josh Ryan. There are allegedly four more creators yet to be revealed. However, fans have noticed that the choice of reveal bares a very strong resemblance to the Wave House, another UK-based content house which launched in September and has already gathered almost three million followers. The Wave House members, including Kate Elizabeth, Spencer “elmofilms” Elmer and Carmie Sellitto, were unveiled using jewel-encrusted masks in a series of videos staged at their £5 million mansion. Upset fans hit out at the Icon House on the UK version of TikTok room. One person wrote: “Embarrassing how they didn’t even try to hide the fact they copied the wave house.” Another person added, “literally copying the wave house masks.” The Icon House was formerly known as My House Ldn and has since rebranded after a scandal. Popular TikToker Kristen Scott, a former member of My House Ldn, accused one member of sending her sexual messages when she was underage. She posted several videos exposing the messages and speaking out about the issue and the old content house has since fallen apart. Icon house appears to be recruiting reality star influencers, a strong way to quickly gain clout. It remains to be seen if Icon House can truly challenge Wave House as far as followers go.

As someone grows as a content creator, they may find their way into various brand sponsorships to help them supplement their income. In return for payment or product, creators will record advertisement videos for the company, oftentimes posting snippets of the ad onto TikTok. It was reported on December 9 by MLozada on Twitter that the short-form video app has updated its rules for branded content, causing many users to wonder how they’re going to promote their products. While you can check out the whole list here, we’ll point out a few: Financial Services and Products – While they note a few different things that fall under this category, the one affecting streamers is “virtual currencies,” aka Crypto. – Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, and Medicine products – Even though medicine sponsors are few and far between, 100 Thieves is sponsored by Excedrin, which is a headache medicine. – Energy drinks – Energy drinks may be considered one of the most common things marketed towards Twitch and YouTube streamers, with companies like G FUEL and even Mtn Dew Game Fuel. – There have been dozens of other things added to the list — including infant food and the ability to be banned for taking a political side. It’s unknown at the time of writing how strict they will be following these guidelines, so it may be best for creators to play it safe for the time being.

  • New streaming platform Noice raises $21 million funding ahead of closed beta – Dexerto

New streaming platform Noice raises $21 million funding ahead of closed beta NoiceNoice, a new streaming platform, which hopes to make a ‘multiplayer game’ out of streaming, has raised $21 million in a Series A funding round. On the face of it, Noice is just another streaming platform trying to take a slice of the pie still largely dominated by Twitch, while others like YouTube and Kick also gain ground. What Noice is hoping will set it apart is an extra focus on interaction with viewers, going as far as to suggest this is as much a multiplayer game as a streaming platform. It’s a bold claim, and one that will certainly require some initial capital to have a chance, especially given the trail of previously failed streaming platform attempts from various companies. What is Noice? “You are a gamer. You love to play games. So why are you just watching livestreams?” Noice asks on their X/Twitter. The idea is that this platform will provide more ‘interactivity’ for viewers. It’s not exactly clear yet how this will take shape: “Fans join their streams, form teams to co-operate and compete and play alongside the creator,” the explain. But, a closed beta in November 2023 should give us our first glimpse at it in action. “On Noice you are an active participant on stream: you play a multiplayer game as you watch your favorite creator and show your fandom in a deep metagame.” The exact date for the closed beta has not been confirmed yet either, although for those interested, there is a sign-up option already on the site. Twitch remains undisputed in terms of total streamers and hours watched, certainly in the western market, although Kick has been making inroads with multiple big names joining the Stake-backed platform. However, to do so, Kick has had to invest heavily – likely running at an operational loss – to attract those big names, and the gambling opportunities (which are now largely banned on Twitch) have been another lucrative attraction for some streamers. This makes it an increasingly challenging environment for any new streaming platform to get started in, and Noice will certainly need a unique selling point to convince both creators and viewers it’s worth their time.

  • New TikTok challenge under fire for “mocking” people with disabilities – Dexerto

New TikTok challenge under fire for “mocking” people with disabilities TikTokA new TikTok challenge, dubbed the ‘Autism Challenge,’ has been widely criticized by creators on the platform for openly “mocking” people with disabilities, and the site has now begun taking action against content associated with the trend. The ‘Autism Challenge’ on TikTok involved users dancing to a parody song of Black Eyed Peas hit “Let’s Get It Started,” making hand gestures that “mocked” people with disabilities. The trend got shut down as quickly as it rose. As the hashtag started going viral, creators were quick to criticize users who jumped on the bandwagon. YouTube star Philip DeFranco was one of many to lead a public outcry against the trend. “Many of these videos have received massive backlash, prompting many to delete them,” said DeFranco in a May 14 video. “However, it’s unclear with all of them as to whether the posts were removed by Tiktok or by the creators themselves.” All references to the challenge — except the audio used — have “disappeared” from the platform, according to DeFranco. For mobile readers, the related segment begins at 4:56. Instead of letting the song disappear though, other creators have weaponized it to hit back at people who took part in the challenge. Searching for the track on Tiktok brings up a host of videos condemning users for “mocking” people with disabilities. “It’s been flooded by people slamming the trend. A number of posts are people pretending that they’re about to do the dance, then lecturing people about how disgusting it is,” added DeFranco. • New stats reveal YouTube earnings for PewDiePie, Logan Paul and more – Dexerto

New stats reveal YouTube earnings for PewDiePie, Logan Paul and more Unsplash/YouTube: PewDiePieNew YouTube statistics highlight the incredible amount of money creators are able to make in just a minute of video time; shedding light on the incomes PewDiePie, Logan Paul and others. It has long been known that a successful YouTuber can enjoy lucrative incomes but, thanks to a new Business Insider report, more specific values have been revealed. The article uses information from Petey Vid’s blog, in which he calculated just how much money per minute each YouTube star makes. The overall amount of money made is divided by how many minutes of content they uploaded in 2018 to work out the final values, and they are eye-watering. The most notable on the list is probably Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg, the only individual content creator on YouTube to have over 100 million subscribers. According to Petey’s calculations, PewDiePie made an incredible $3,319 per minute of video content he uploaded to YouTube during 2018. This means that a ten-minute video from the Swede would earn him an average of $33,319, or £27,122. For comparison, the average annual salary in the UK is £29,000. PewDiePie earns just shy of that from a ten minute YouTube video. However, PewDiePie’s numbers pale in comparison to those of the Paul brothers. The American YouTubers are never far from controversy, but that doesn’t seem to have affected their income. Jake Paul earned $21.5 million over 2018, in just over 2,500 minutes of YouTube content. This puts his incredible earnings at $8,511 per minute of YouTube video. However, he is beaten by his older brother Logan, who earned a whopping $11,688 per minute of YouTube content he uploaded – over three times more than YouTube King PewDiePie. The most lucrative statistics provided by Petey go to Dude Perfect, a US sports entertainment group consisting of 5 individual members. They generated $20 million in just 253 minutes of uploaded content. This puts the amount of money earned per minute at a mind-blowing $85,026. That’s nearly double the average annual US salary, in just a minute of content. Other figures on the list include Jeffree Star ($10,077 per minute), Markiplier ($1,393 per minute) and Jacksepticeye ($1,075 per minute). It says something about the incredible incomes on the list that the lowest-earning is still upwards of $1,000 per minute of YouTube content. It goes to show how successful it is possible to be when passionate video makers are well supported, and dedicated to their craft. You can check out the full article over at the Petey Vid blog.

  • New report might reveal why Joe Rogan is staying on Spotify – Dexerto

New report might reveal why Joe Rogan is staying on Spotify via SpotifyA new report on Spotify’s Joe Rogan Experience deal could reveal why the platform has kept to its guns in keeping the embattled host, and why Rogan isn’t entertaining the idea of leaving. Spotify spent $200 million to acquire Joe Rogan’s JRE, about $100 million more than what was previously believed, according to a New York Times report. That’s a hefty chunk of capital for just one program, especially since the company spent a bit less on entire company acquisitions like The Ringer and Gimlet Media, per the same report. Rogan has come under fire for past comments on everything from allegedly spreading misinformation as well as past clip compilations of him using a historically racist word. This has brought everything from a cancel movement against Rogan to Spotify itself coming under fire. But it’s not likely either party will budge, despite tempting offers to do so. Content is king in Spotify’s eyes. The company has been growing its original programming and podcast offerings to diversify what it can offer to its millions of subscribers. That’s led the company to sign big names with big audiences including Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy show, JaackMaate’s Happy Hour, and TikTok star Addison Rae’s Mama Knows Best, to name a few. Still, the company has been putting out fires left and right on Rogan’s behalf, which it might happily continue to do to compete with bigger forces in the tech world. Despite the press that Rogan has been bringing in lately, JRE’s $200 million deal is indicative of Spotify’s all-in play for the popular host, which could be a bit too high for competitors to match on a single creator.

  • New Prime Hydration ‘Glowberry’ flavor leaked with glow-in-the-dark bottle – Dexerto

New Prime Hydration ‘Glowberry’ flavor leaked with glow-in-the-dark bottle PrimePrime Hydration’s newest flavor ‘Glowberry’ has been leaked ahead of its expected October release, and will even have a glow-in-the-dark bottle. It’s more than fair to say Prime Hydration has already reached some incredible heights — flying off the shelves at an absurdly rapid pace since its release in early 2022. While originally launching with just five core flavors, there’s since been a ton of additions — including Meta Moon, Strawberry Watermelon, Lemonade, and the UK-exclusive KSI Orange and Mango flavor. Now, after being teased by Logan Paul months ago, the brand’s newest flavor ‘Glowberry’ has been leaked. Prime ‘Glowberry’ flavor leaked ahead of release While touring Europe in late June, Logan Paul was asked by a fan what the next Prime flavor would be. Remaining rather tight-lipped on the details, Logan revealed that the next flavor would be called “Glowberry” — and will have a sour green apple taste. The YouTube star further added that Glowberry would be slated for an October release. However, an early listing for the flavor from U.S retailer Sam’s Club, which has since been removed from the site, has already given fans an insight as to what to expect. First spotted by the fan-made stock tracking app Prime Tracker, the Glowberry bottle has a spooky, ghoulie, black and green look — and will even glow in the dark when “charged” in the sun. Since its initial launch, Prime has even expanded beyond just hydration, releasing energy-focused beverages too. And, although being met with concerns and controversy due to ‘excessive’ caffeine levels, the energy drinks have been a major success too. While many of the hydration flavors have also been turned into caffeinated beverages, it’s unclear if we’ll see Glowberry energy drink. For more news and updates on Logan Paul, check out the clash between him and Dillon Danis ahead of their much-anticipated boxing match.

  • New Las Vegas law could land pedestrians in jail for stopping to take pictures – Dexerto

New Las Vegas law could land pedestrians in jail for stopping to take pictures Guido Coppa/UnsplashLas Vegas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in America, and a lot of those travelers will stop on sidewalks to snap a pic of their adventures in the city. However, a new law could land pedestrians with a massive fine or jail time for stopping and standing still in certain “Pedestrian Flow Zones”. Las Vegas is one of the most eye-catching cities in the world. The skyline is always alight with the glow of neon in a city that, for the most part, never truly sleeps. Vegas is bustling at almost any time of day. As a result, there’s always a lot of pedestrian foot traffic for those trying to get from place-to-place, and many tourists or visitors looking to take some pics of the most iconic locations in Vegas like the massive Las Vegas sphere. However, a new law put in place by Clark County, Nevada, decrees that certain “Pedestrian Flow Zones” will force people to keep walking and punish those who stop in these areas, even if it’s to snap a quick picture. Those who break this law could even face jail time. Las Vegas law establishes “Pedestrian Flow Zones” A bill enacted by Clark county explains the rationale behind putting this law in place. The bill explains that “disorderly offenses” are on the rise in Las Vegas, and that bridges and other prominent thoroughfare for pedestrians is often where this disorderly conduct takes place. “Stopping on the pedestrian bridges creates conditions that can foment disorder which, in turn, can lead to crime and serious safety issues,” the bill claims. “Because pedestrian traffic demand on the bridges varies significantly and unpredictably regardless of day or time of day, it is impossible to know in advance when stopping will result in criminal or otherwise dangerous conditions (whether involving the particular pedestrian who has stopped or others) and because of the physical nature of the pedestrian bridges, by the time such conditions exist, it would often be too late for law enforcement or other first responders to intervene, mitigate, render aid, rescue, or take other actions necessary as a result of crime and other serious safety issues.” The proposed solution is so-called “Pedestrian Flow Zones”, designated areas where people aren’t allowed to stop for extended periods of time to keep the flow of pedestrian foot traffic going. While these bridges make up a fairly small portion of Vegas’ overall real estate, the penalties for violating the now-enacted ordinance aren’t exactly a slap on the wrist: “Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed six months or by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment.” Stopping for extended periods of time in one of these flow zones isn’t a felony offense, but it does count as a misdemeanor and could land offenders with jail time.

The bout between the two was originally scheduled for February 20, 2020, but was postponed. New footage of woman from “not real” plane video shows her clash with airport staff Screenshots via DFW PD/TikTokFresh footage of Tiffany Gomas – the woman from the super-viral “not real” plane video – has surfaced as she argued with police and flight staff after she was removed from the plane. Over the last few weeks, the internet has been obsessed with the video of a plane passenger – who we now know as Tiffany Gomas – freaking out about her flight from Dallas Forth Worth to Orlando. Gomas stormed out of her seat and claimed that the person she was sitting next to was “not real” and that the plane was in danger as a result. The incident has spawned all sorts of memes and the Dallas native had been pretty silent on it. The person she claimed was “not real” has yet to be named.

  • New footage reveals Cardi B encouraged crowd to splash her ahead of viral mic throw – Dexerto

New footage reveals Cardi B encouraged crowd to splash her ahead of viral mic throw Twitter: TheJuicePopCardi B made headlines after she threw a microphone at a fan for throwing their drink at her, but new footage now reveals she asked the crowd to splash her beforehand. While performing on a small stage stint at Drai’s Beach Club in Las Vegas, Cardi B lost her cool at a fan who threw their drink at her. In return, she ditched her microphone at them, making headlines with many supporting her actions. The general consensus seemed to be, “People need to stop throwing stuff at performers”. However, not only did the airborne mic hit the wrong person, but new footage reveals Cardi B actually encouraged the crowd to douse her with water beforehand. The drink tosser was escorted off the premises following the incident, but now it appears they may have just been following instructions. TMZ shared a video that took place moments before, with Cardi B seen asking the crowd to “Throw me some water here, b****, ’cause I’m hot.” The DJ reiterated her request, encouraging fans to “Splash that girl”. Cardi B then bent over for the crowd, saying, “Put that s*** in my p****, b****” — bringing her song, WAP, to life. Some have since theorized that the thrown drink that ultimately angered the American rapper wasn’t water, but instead alcohol. On top of this new revelation, another angle of the incident reveals the person hit by the microphone didn’t throw the drink. “When I’m the one who gets smoked by the microphone but didn’t throw the drink,” the fan wrote. “I’m bruised and sore.” In the TikTok, the fan responsible for the drink toss can be heard apologizing repeatedly before security arrives to remove them. • New DOOM mod lets you screenshot NFTs instead of fighting demons – Dexerto

New DOOM mod lets you screenshot NFTs instead of fighting demons Twitter, idTechpicsA new DOOM mod is getting a lot of attention, as someone decided to take a jab at NFTs – replacing the game’s demons with NFTs and the user’s gun with a camera, so that you can screenshot them. Doom II: Hell on Earth was released in 1994, decades before the advent of cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). But the game’s recipe of eviscerating hellspawn with big guns has lived on. Now, a modder by the name of Ultraboi is bringing Doom II all the way up to speed in 2021. It’s the same old graphics, same old gameplay, but with a very topical twist. In this new, digital world, Ultraboi isn’t worried about killing demons. Instead, the threatening monsters are NFTs and to defeat them you must simply take their picture (without asking). It’s a bold, divisive concept and people are boldly divided. While some hope to make money off of the blockchain-linked digital art, others simply want to steal the “.jpegs” for themselves. But, if replying to someone’s tweet saying that you screenshot their NFT wasn’t enough – how about killing them in a virtual world? As you can see in the video of Ultraboi’s NFT Doom, that dream (or, maybe more appropriately, nightmare) is now a reality. Shoutout to @Ultraboi14 again for NFT Doom. But, in the replies to a tweet about the new game, that race has gotten fairly combative. • New “borrowing” trend on TikTok sees users teaching others how to steal – Dexerto

New “borrowing” trend on TikTok sees users teaching others how to steal TikTokA “borrowing” trend on TikTok is on the rise, which risks the number of shoplift cases rising as well, as people take to the platform to teach others how to essentially steal from retail stores. Shoplifting is on the rise in the US. Some stores now have shoplifting as 2% to 3% of their total sales, which is up from 0.7 to 1% pre-pandemic, CNN reports. At the same time, terms and hashtags about “borrowing” things from stores are soaring, with the hashtag “borrow tip and tricks” amassing 8.9 billion views on TikTok. The trend of “borrowing” things sees people share their tips and tricks of how to “borrowing” things from major stores – but what exactly does that mean? What is the “borrow tips and tricks” trend on TikTok? TikTokers are using hashtags such as “borrow tips and tricks,” “borrowers,” and “borrowing items” to share tips and tricks on how to best steal things from major stores. According to one viral clip, the most vulnerable retailers are Walgreens, Dollar Tree, and Walmart, while Target, Sephora, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton ranked among the hardest to pillage. Most people also gave tips, such as what kind of items to focus on, and said to not steal from small businesses, ever. People are even sharing the stories of how they got caught. In one of the more shocking clips with more than 7.1 million views, a Target employee who uploads under the handle yoofavhennny warned shoplifters about the perils of stealing at the same store multiple times. While it may seem like the serial shoplifters are getting off scot-free while taking things that aren’t worth that much, she cautioned that the retailer is likely tracking their illicit activities. They wait to bust them when the pilfered items’ value totals $950 — the threshold for felony charges per the Prop 47 law passed in 2014. In January 2023, a video of a shoplifter went viral after her getaway car ditched her in the parking lot, leaving her to run from the police.

New claims suggest FBI raid of ICE_POSEIDON wasn’t for spoofing ICE_POSEIDON, YouTubePopular IRL streamer ICE_POSEIDON was raided by the FBI in a five-hour-long search on March 19, which some claimed to be the result of bomb threats under a “spoofed” phone number. Following the raid, mass speculation ensued as to its actual cause; however, popular Twitch streamer Boneclinks revealed allegations that could point to a different explanation than ‘spoofing,’ as stated during a broadcast on March 21. “I’ve got information from people who have contacts within police departments, who say that it was not a ‘spoofing’ number situation,” Boneclinks claimed. “It was actually an ongoing investigation for a long time against DJ and against ICE_POSEIDON.” While Boneclinks gave no hint as to what prompted the investigation, he likewise claimed that ICE_POSEIDON is no longer allowed to stream within the state of California – likely in relation to the scandal. That’s not all; according to Boneclinks, all streamers in the CX Network’s streaming mansion were kicked out, aside from ICE_POSEIDON and one other broadcaster. Drama Alert’s Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem reported that the raid was possibly performed due to bomb threats under a ‘spoofed’ phone number of POSEIDON’s, while others felt that it could have been the result of his alleged ‘Ponzi scheme’ business model. While POSEIDON has yet to speak out on the manner, the streamer posted a Tweet just before news broke of the raid, stating that he would unable to stream – and that he would be “going somewhere soon.” cant exactly go live today something has come up, i apologize but i might be going somewhere soon — Ice_Poseidon (@REALIcePoseidon) March 20, 2019 Since then, another video of streamer DJ has circulated social media, where he claimed to have a “black box phone” filled with incriminating evidence against POSEIDON, should he ever “wrong” him. While DJ’s claims are unverified, his video has since garnered ample speculation, as the exact cause of the raid is as yet unknown.

New body cam footage shows Lovely Peaches abused dog “for followers” Dekalb County Police Department via InsiderNew body cam footage from the night Instagram influencer Brittany ‘Lovely Peaches’ Johnson was confronted by police for threatening her dog shows her explaining that she abused the animal “for followers.” As one of the more controversial figures on Instagram, Johnson’s videos of her threatening and ‘joking’ to harm her six-month old puppy, Max, have been a point of contention with animal rights advocates and concerned viewers. Following alarms and notifications to authorities, the online personality was arrested in January on charges of animal cruelty but has since bonded out of jail. But footage from the night officers took Max has surfaced showing how Johnson, 20, answered questions from the officers. The video, acquired by Insider, gives people a view inside of the Dekalb County Police’s initial appearance to Johnson’s door which showed a small motel room with her and the dog. In questioning the embattled Instagram star, officers discovered that threats made to Max by Johnson was all “for followers” to grow her main Instagram page that has roughly 146,000 members. “I said I was going to throw him out the window,” Johnson answered the police. These were the kind of things she believed would incite reactions enough that people would follow her on Instagram. She soon followed up with saying that she had no intention of going through with the things she threatened to do in her posts. When asked if she even wanted Max, she quickly replied with: “I mean, I might give it to my dad.” According to the officers on the scene that night, the dog was visibly “scared to death.” “Yeah, but I make jokes all the time, so if anybody makes jokes–” Johnson said before being cut off by the officer who told her, “That’s not funny. You’re talking about harming a puppy.” Johnson said the threats were repeatedly made “cause I knew it would get me attention on the internet.” She said her ultimate goal was to build up a large enough following to one day sign with a label to take care of her family. She told officers that she makes about $1,000 per week from sponsors. The Dekalb County Police Department told TooFab that Max was taken into custody by animal services.

On August 8, however, the streamer found himself in handcuffs after he was swatted. Footage of the swatting went viral with Speed pleading with officers that he “didn’t do anything” to deserve being placed in handcuffs. Speed was eventually released, with the YouTuber claiming Adin Ross paid his $20,000 bail. Now, Ohio police have released new footage of the incident including some of him being placed in the back of a vehicle. Police release iShowSpeed swatting bodycam footage Footage of the arrest was posted to the Law&Crime Network YouTube channel showing police approaching Speed and placing him in cuffs. Police were eventually informed that the situation was likely a swatting with Speed’s friend explaining that the cops could just check out the livestream for some proof. After being told that police had received a call by someone using his name claiming that he wanted to hurt his family, Speed made it clear that it was “obviously a lie.” The cops went on to explain to Speed’s family that if an incident like this were to happen again, they would already have his address on file so it seems like the same problem wouldn’t occur. Nonetheless, given the severity of the call, the streamer was lucky to not get hurt, as swattings have proven to be lethal in the past and are highly illegal. In 2015, swatting was made a federal crime in the United States. It’s not yet clear if police have arrested the viewer who called in the swatting or if they’re actively investigating the situation.

  • ‘Never forget you’ is TikTok’s messiest, most scandalous trend yet – Dexerto

‘Never forget you’ is TikTok’s messiest, most scandalous trend yet TikTok: Milli DebritoTikTok’s latest trend, which encourages users to reminisce on brief encounters that impacted their life, has quickly devolved into chaos. With long-lost babies and infidelity being revealed through the trend, ‘Never Forget You’ has become TikTok’s latest real-life soap opera. The trend itself is simple enough. It starts off with people reflecting on various meet-cutes or fleeting romances they had, sometimes cut with pictures and videos from the event in question before lip-syncing to the Noisette’s 2009 song “Never Forget You.” On the one hand, this trend was incredibly wholesome. TikTok user ‘mickeynn_’, for example, shared how he was invited to family dinners by a stranger when he went to China for the first time alone. Similarly, user Luke Bailey revealed how he found a friend in senior citizen Christy after they were seated together on a Ryanair flight three years ago. On the other hand, as TikTokers lamented on how they’ll “never forget” their holiday romances, things started to get a little more… messy. A lot of TikTok users started using the trend in order to highlight lovechilds that apparently came out of their fleeting holiday romances. In one viral TikTok as part of the trend, Kayla Acevedo showed her baby to viewers, saying: “To the guy I met in Nicaragua on vacation. I think this is yours?” With the ‘Never Forget You’ sound having over 500k videos associated with it, there were dozens of stories similar to Acevedo. One TikTok user commented that “this trend should be sponsored by Trojan”, while another remarked that “this is [their] third TikTok in a row on my FYP of someone having a baby by some guy on a trip.” Although Acevedo’s story specifically had a happy ending, as she revealed in a follow-up TikTok that she flew out to Nicagura so the father would be able to meet their child, other users weren’t so lucky. For example, TikTok user, ‘call.me.eveline’ was one of many who revealed in a tearful video that she saw her boyfriend in a TikTok as part of this trend. Who would’ve thought such an innocent trend would turn out so scandalous?

While NetNobody played his part in the Sidemen War with a series of ‘diss tracks,’ the content creator has since focused on producing gaming videos while streaming to Google’s video-sharing platform. After Twitch has received its time in the spotlight over a series of ‘bias bans’ highlighted by PaymoneyWubby, its rival platform are now under fire from one of their most loyal creators. Dahlberg has been posting content on Youtube since 2011. Meaning that the 26-year-old is all too familiar with the platform’s Terms of Service. However, following a livestream, NetNobody quickly realized that he had been served a three-month ban after watching Sword Art Online Abridged during his broadcast. (@NetNobody) December 3, 2019 After explaining the nature of the ban, Dahlberg added: “This is why YouTube will never be taken seriously for streaming.” The American followed up his initial Tweet with a subsequent post, which hinted towards a potential for him to jump ship after taking the lengthy ban on the chin. “Absolute clowns, banning people on their platform for literally supporting their platform,” NetNobody posted. “Alright guys, who am I switching to?” When prompted on whether he’d be willing to up-sticks to Twitch, Dahlberg responded with: “I guess I may have to.” NetNobody’s ban comes as streaming platforms appear to be making more of an active effort in clamping down on their Terms of Service. However, based on the accounts provided by Dahlberg, it appears that he was well within the confines of guidelines put in place by YouTube. • Neuro-sama brutally roasts Asmongold’s streaming setup: “Insects know where to go” – Dexerto

Neuro-sama brutally roasts Asmongold’s streaming setup: “Insects know where to go” Twitch: Vedal987Neuro-sama brutally roasted Asmongold’s streaming setup in an insanely elaborate dig at the state of the room. When it comes down to roasting people, Neuro-sama is weirdly adept at doing so. That is because its creator, Vedal, designed the AI VTuber to be able to, with roasting in mind from the jump. Be it insulting other VTubers or its own viewers, Neuro is programmed to be able to roast someone with a surprising amount of detail and creativity. And no roast shows off Neuro’s roasting capabilities when during a stream reviewing viewer setups. Most recently, she brutally roasted Asmongold’s streaming setup. In a stream with Bao reacting to viewer-submitted pictures of setups, a cheeky viewer submitted Asmongold’s infamous picture of his setup for Neuro to react to, and the AI VTuber certainly did not hold back. “Wow, with a setup like this, I’m surprised any gaming gets done between archaeology digs through ancient cup civilizations,” Neuro said of the numerous used cups on Asmon’s desk. “But hey if insects run out of places to live, at least they know where to go for a 5-star experience.” The roast continued, “And what’s with the blanket fort aesthetic? Trying to bring back childhood memories or hide the chaos from the outside world? Bless your heart, we both know the only ‘streaming’ happening here is the continuous flow of soda spills on the carpet.” Naturally, the reaction to Neuro’s brutal roast was one of disbelief. On the LivestreamFail subreddit, commenters wrote as much. “Her roasts have surpassed human capability, we’re finished,” a viewer said. Included in the disbelief were surprised reactions at how the AI was able to do it in the first place. However, to the Neuro faithful who knows what Vedal has been doing with Neuro, the AI has been trained in image recognition and was most likely fed data from comedy shows.

Jowsey was a joint winner with Francesca Farago, but things started to take a spin after the show finished filming. On episode 202 of the Impaulsive podcast, he said that the show has “changed his life” before explaining how it pulled him out of a seriously troubling state. “I was in a bad headspace,” he said. “My mom fell off a horse and broke her knee, ribs… Then I had a loss in my family, and then someone really close to me tried to kill themselves. In the space of a week.” He continued “I spoke to my girlfriend at the time, I was asking her to pretty much just be my friend… and she said I was doing it to ruin her trip. I was so heartbroken. I told her exactly what was going on, and I told her I’m destroyed.” Jowsey then went on to explain that one night he watched an Impaulsive episode with “this crazy guy called Charlie Rocket” and it completely changed his outlook. Timestamp 12:30 He goes on to say that he’s sent the video to all his friends, advising them to watch it whenever they feel upset, and has got ‘winning streak’ — a phrase Rocket used throughout the podcast — tattooed on his hand. He also shows hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak his ‘quantum’ book from the show — in which he wrote a number of things he wanted to achieve, including becoming a millionaire by 23 (“I might be a couple of months late to that”) and, ironically, being on the Impaulsive podcast. It’s fair to say that Harry is well on his way to achieving many of his goals — and is most certainly on a winning streak.

Netflix has just launched their first-ever Discord bot that makes it easier to discover new movies and shows to watch with your friends. However, It’s not quite what you would expect as it doesn’t actually stream the movies within Discord. Netflix launches Discord bot, but it’s not what you think Announced on October 27 on the Netflix Geeked Twitter account, the accompanying video gives a rough detail on what it looks like to find a movie to watch together. Install the bot, type in the command, and in just a few clicks the bot will recommend you something to watch with your friends. Except… it doesn’t actually stream the movie to Discord. Instead, it links you to the website, meaning everyone watching must have their own Netflix subscription. How to install the Official Netflix Discord bot Available in the app directory, the Hey, Netflix app has been installed in over 19,000 servers since it was announced. Here’s how to install the bot on your server: Right-click on your server icon, and hover over the server settings menu – In the server settings menu, click on the app directory – On the top of the page, search ‘Hey, Netflix’ – Open the app listing, and click ‘Add to Server’ – Confirm which server you’re installing it on and click Continue – While the app will still help friend groups decide on what to watch while hanging out in their favorite Discord server, many users were hoping a Netflix Discord bot would allow users to all watch the same screen, similar to Watch Parties on Twitch. • Netflix viewers threaten to cancel subscriptions over Hype House reality show – Dexerto

Netflix viewers threaten to cancel subscriptions over Hype House reality show Instagram: HypeHousela, NetflixNetflix is being met with outrage on all sides after announcing their upcoming reality show centered on the once-viral TikTok collective called the ‘Hype House.’ Humanity has officially stepped into the “influencer age,” which has pumped out a slew of high-profile online celebrities whose popularity rivals that of traditional Hollywood A-listers. As such, it stands to reason that mainstream media is taking an interest in social media stars — but it seems that not everyone is game for this particular phenomenon. On April 22, Netflix revealed that it is set to release an upcoming reality show following the Hype House, a TikTok content house that once boasted some of the platform’s most popular creators like Chari D’Amelio and Addison Rae. Kouvr Annon, Nikita Dragun, Sienna Mae Gomez, Chase Hudson, Larri Merritt, Thomas Petrou, Alex Warren, and Jack Wright — a.k.a Hype House — will star in a new unscripted series that will reveal a side of themselves (and their relationships) that we rarely see! pic.twitter.com/NlRF5j0ZoF — Netflix (@netflix) April 22, 2021 While the Hype House is arguably a shadow of its former self, it seems that news of its forthcoming series was not met with enthusiasm, as a surprising number of critics have threatened to cancel their subscriptions over the show. In fact, plenty of outraged viewers are upset that the service canceled other shows and chose to go through with a social media reality series, instead, with quite a few angry at the cancellation of The Society. “PLS RENEW THE SOCIETY, LITERALLY NOBODY WANTS TO WATCH THIS,” one user wrote. R E N E W T H E S O C I E T Y pic.twitter.com/VtZl97iHYa — Save The Society (@SaveTheSociet18) April 22, 2021 “The end subscription button is looking mighty fine right now,” another quipped. Still others are annoyed that Netflix is giving a platform to controversial influencers, with many noting that Nikita Dragun (who is being featured in the series) has often flouted health and safety protocols amid the ongoing global situation. “Why give people who don’t care about the pandemic a platform?” one viewer asked. Literally??? All of them don’t care about the pandemic and half of them are racist or homophobic. — Bミ☆ (@murdocksfilms_) April 22, 2021 “Why are you giving this irresponsible TikTokers a series?” another claimed. “No one asked for this.” Of course, the Hype House isn’t the only social media group to get its own show; the Sway House is also currently airing its own show on Instagram, while the D’Amelio family is slated to have a reality show airing exclusively on Hulu later this year. While it’s unlikely that the Hype House’s Netflix show will be outright canceled in response to the backlash, judging by viewers’ responses, it may not receive favorable reviews — but only time will tell, as a release date and other pertinent information have yet to be released.

  • Netflix’s Cuties sparks petition to scrap movie over “twerking” – Dexerto

Netflix’s Cuties sparks petition to scrap movie over “twerking” NetflixNetflix is facing huge backlash on Twitter after announcing the release of a new film called Cuties, about 11-year-old girls who become “fascinated” with twerking. The film, set for release on September 9, follows a young girl called Amy from a traditional Muslim household who wants to join a dance crew. The film is called Mignonnes in France and was written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré. The French poster for the film is also very different to the American version. Netflix’s plot description did read: “She starts to explore her femininity, defying her family’s traditions.” The film poster shows the group girls dressed in crop tops and shorts. Within hours of the announcement, Twitter has erupted with outrage with thousands condemning the film for its depiction of youngsters. Political commentator Michelle Malkin called Netflix “pedoflix”, while 3,000 people liked a tweet that read: “Everyone involved with this project should be jailed.” https://twitter.com/JadenPMcNeil/status/1296210791654400002 Another user wrote: “No one wants to see their child dressed and posed like this.” I just found a trailer for the movie “”Cuties”” on Netflix and the blatant sexualization of young girls is DISGUSTING. No one wants to see their child dressed and posed like this. WHY IS NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS? #cuties @netflix pic.twitter.com/a4rWey3cuj — Avery (@ayyverty) August 19, 2020 A petition has even been created asking Netflix to stop the film being streamed, with the creator writing, “There is no need for this kind of content in that age group. “There is no excuse, this is dangerous content!” The petition has reached more than 30,000 signatures, at the time of writing, in less than 24 hours. The backlash is not just limited to Twitter. On YouTube, a quick search brings up several videos addressing concerns about the films with titles such as “Netflix’s ‘Cuties’ Confirms EVERYTHING We Feared About Hollywood” and “Netflix Movie “Cuties”: Sick, Disgusting and Completely Unacceptable.” Allegedly a moderator posted on 4Chan asking that users not post any screenshots or clips from the movie, adding “Netflix may allow this crap, 4chan does not.” https://twitter.com/TryCrying/status/1296413443105468416 Cuties won an award for Best Director at Sundance. It also had three nominations; two at Berlin Film Festival, and another at Sundance. Despite the backlash, Netflix told Metro.co.uk: “This was not an accurate representation of the film so the image and description has been updated.” It has now been changed to say: “11-year-old Amy starts to rebel against her conservative family’s traditions when she becomes fascinated with a free-spirited dance crew.”

  • Netflix might stream Jake Paul’s next fight live according to report – Dexerto

Netflix might stream Jake Paul’s next fight live according to report Instagram/jakepaulNetflix might stream one of Jake Paul’s boxing matches live on the service according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. Over the last few years, YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has taken over the scene with a variety of opponents. He most recently won against Nate Diaz, and has revealed that he’s fighting yet again in December 2023 — but hasn’t revealed his opponent yet. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Netflix is looking to live-stream some boxing matches and Jake Paul’s might be one of them. Netflix might stream Jake Paul’s boxing match For the first time, Netflix has been looking into live-streaming sports — and have discussed launching the service with Jake Paul as the focus. On top of the possible Jake Paul bout, they’re reportedly also set to stream one match between boxers from Showtime’s Premier Boxing Champions show. At the time of writing, no names for that match have been revealed. The whole idea of live-streaming a boxing match has yet to be confirmed, as WSJ mentions that they’re still in early stages of consideration. Being that it’s still an early idea, there’s no telling whether or not Netflix will be able to stream Jake Paul’s December fight, but there’s no doubt that he’ll have another one coming in 2024. Jake has worked together with Netflix in the past, having released the documentary “Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Child” back in early August. We’ll be sure to update you if they do go ahead with the plans to live-stream boxing, but in the meantime, keep it locked to Dexerto for more entertainment news.

  • Netflix reveals a surprising competitor, and it’s not another streaming service – Dexerto

Netflix reveals a surprising competitor, and it’s not another streaming service Popular streaming service Netflix claims that its greatest competitor is not Hulu or Amazon Prime; rather, the company feels that Fortnite is its Kryptonite, instead. Netflix admitted this disparity in a letter to shareholders on January 17, claiming that they compete with the battle royale title more than HBO. “In the US, we earn around 10% of television screen time and less than that of mobile screen time,” the letter stated. “We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO.” The letter went on to state that Netflix vies with many entertainment services that aren’t strictly television and film-based, even confessing that the global YouTube outage in October of 2018 caused a significant rise in their viewership. “When YouTube went down globally for a few minutes in October, our viewing and signups spiked for that time,” the letter continued. “There are thousands of competitors in this highly-fragmented market vying to entertain customers and low barriers to entry for those with great experiences.” Netflix’s struggles come as no surprise; with many companies straying away from the service to create their own platforms, such as Disney’s upcoming Disney+ service and NBC moving ‘The Office’ to an ad-free site in early 2020, more and more competitors are taking users’ time away from the famed binge-watching website. In fact, Fortnite has more total global users than Netflix has subscribers, with over 200 million registered players as opposed to Netflix’s 139 million subs (although that may be related to the service’s allowance for multiple users under a single account).

More companies have entered the content wars as original content has become the main selling point for consumers looking to sign up for new streaming services. With Netflix being one of the OGs of the streaming game, they have been looking to expand their brand to stand out amongst their competitors, dabbling in video games along the way. Now, the streaming giant has announced they plan to dip their hands in live streaming next. As of May 17, 2022, it is unclear how this will be implemented exactly and when the Netflix live streaming will make its debut in living rooms across the globe. • Netflix actor Noah Centineo roasts Jake Paul in scathing interview segment – Dexerto

Netflix actor Noah Centineo roasts Jake Paul in scathing interview segment Actor Noah Centineo of ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ fame dissed social media star Jake Paul during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. During the interview, Centineo was asked about the importance of social media in relation to his career as an actor. While many would hold that one’s activity on social media could open and close doors accordingly, Centineo argues that ‘it depends’ – and took a shot at Jake Paul while giving his answer. “It depends on the filmmaker,” he said of the matter. “I don’t think Gaspar Noe gives a shit. But did Disney care when they gave Jake Paul a show? Absolutely.” Centineo’s response is a callback to Disney’s treatment of YouTuber Jake Paul in summer of 2017, who was cut from their show Bizaardvark after his videos garnered massive controversy. This occurred during the height of his antics in a neighborhood in upscale Los Angeles (Yes, the one where his address got leaked and a flood of fans crowded around his front door, prompting his move to the Hollywood Hills). Jake isn’t the only Paul brother to have been cut from a major production, either; brother Logan Paul was likewise booted from his YouTube Originals show Foursome due to his controversial vlog in Japan’s Aokigahara ‘Suicide Forest’ in early 2018 (although he managed to keep the sequel to his YouTube Red movie, ‘The Thinning’). While Jake Paul has yet to publicly respond to Centineo’s comments, he has been busy calling out MMA fighters and rappers alike ahead of the KSI vs Logan Paul rematch, set for summer of 2019.

They’ve helped her become one of the biggest stars on TikTok. However, she’s an incredibly talented singer and her singing career is well underway. In 2020, she released two hit singles, ‘if u love me’ and ‘Pain.’ They’re already pulling big numbers. But that hasn’t stopped Nessa Barrett from working hard to keep the momentum going. The drama between Nessa Barrett, Jaden Hossler, Josh Richards, and Mads Lewis seemingly exploded out of nowhere. It all started when Nessa and Jaded recorded and released a hit song and music video together despite being in relationships with Josh and Mads. It left a bitter taste in their partners’ mouths, which ultimately kick-started the deterioration of their relationships. Both came to an end shortly after the song was released. Since then, Nessa and Jaden have been spotted together acting like a couple multiple times, with both of them confirming they’re the happiest they’ve ever been. Mads and Josh have shared their thoughts multiple times, with one seemingly more bothered than the other. Now, in the saga’s latest development, Nessa claimed she’d reveal the truth about the situation in an upcoming song. Nessa uploaded a video of her lip-synching the lyrics to ‘Original Sound’ by Maori Bossbaby824, which says, “Some people tell me that I need help. Josh and Mads haven’t responded yet, and probably won’t since it seems like they’re both trying to move on.

Could this then mean that Barrett is the mystery girl that Richards ended his fling with Malouf for? Either way, the TikTok star has made it clear that she is unimpressed with the revelation. When TikTok drama page TikTok room reposted Malou’s revelation, Barrett commented on their post saying: “lol what [sic]”. Has the drama surrounding this song only just begun?

  • Nessa Barrett slams TikTok “look alike” for thinly veiled insult – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett slams TikTok “look alike” for thinly veiled insult Nessa Barrett, Instagram / Isabellaagarciaa, TikTokPopular TikTok creator Nessa Barret has spoken out after taking notice of her very own lookalike on the video platform — but it doesn’t look like her copycat is interested in playing nice. Nessa Barrett is a relatively popular face on TikTok, boasting over six million followers due to her viral videos, which have similarly gained millions of views. However, the social media star came under fire earlier this month after filming a video with a friend in which they danced to audio of the Quran being read aloud. https://twitter.com/yousefslym/status/1248043298482032640?s=20 While Barrett has since apologized for a video that many considered offensive, it doesn’t look like the internet is cutting her any slack anytime soon, as evidenced by a comment made by her very own lookalike. TikTokker Isabella Garcia has gone viral due to her uncanny resemblance to Barrett, which she mentioned in a TikTok with the caption, “Day one of trying to get Nessa Barrett to notice that I’m her twin.” However, it doesn’t look like Garcia is too interested in having similarities with the TikTok star, uploading yet another side-by-side comparison video with the caption, “Nessa Barrett, but less problematic.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B_VJox6H4PT/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link It seems that Barrett has since taken notice of Garcia’s lookalike videos — as well as her not-so-subtle insult toward her recent scandal, as evidenced by her comment on the video: “Ouch.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B_VPgDAH8a8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link That wasn’t the end of her responses to the matter either, with Barrett also addressing Garcia’s video via a Twitter: “Please don’t dedicate your entire TikTok account on how you’re my ‘look alike,’ but insult me in your captions.” https://twitter.com/nessaabarrett/status/1253375539823460355?s=20 Garcia has since responded to Barrett’s comments in a now-privated video, apologizing for offending both the TikTokker and her fans and admitting that she’s actually a fan of Barrett in spite of her controversy. This wouldn’t be the first time a famous TikTokker has had their look lifted recently; the platform’s most-followed creator, Charli D’Amelio, was tied to lookalike Ellie Zeiler, who became the center of drama after fans created fake accounts to trick viewers into thinking that Zeiler was actually trying to impersonate Charli. While Zeiler has since clarified the account was not her, it seems that lookalikes are growing into a trend on TikTok — although whether this trend is for good or ill remains to be seen.

Nessa Barrett responds to Charli D’Amelio & Lil Huddy cheating rumors Charli D’Amelio, celebritylivin, Chase Hudson – YouTube[jwplayer ksH6zuKH]TikTok queen Charli D’Amelio kicked off dramageddon after accusing ex-boyfriend Chase Hudson of cheating on her with influencer Nessa Barrett — and Barret has finally addressed the accusations against her. Last week was one of the most dramatic periods in TikTok history, with Charli D’Amelio sparking rumors by shading ex-boyfriend Chase ‘Lil Huddy’ Hudson across multiple social media platforms and even unfollowing him. As speculation grew, D’Amelio even claimed outright that Hudson had cheated on her with fellow TikToker Nessa Barrett — an unusual development, considering that Charli and Huddy had parted ways months prior and even seemed to be on good terms. Charli’s bombshell tweet set off an avalanche of drama within the TikTok community, with all eyes on Hudson and Barrett as the scandal went down — and while Hudson was quick to fire back with accusations of infidelity against other TikTok stars, Barrett decidedly stayed silent on the subject. However, paparazzi caught up with the influencer on July 11, who admitted that she’d been taking a hiatus from social media amid the chaos. “I said what I had to say about it,” she said of the matter. “I’m done. I dealt with it privately, and I felt like that’s how it should have been dealt with. …I’m at peace. Everything’s good, so that’s all I’m gonna say.” (Topic begins at 0:18) Barret’s comments follow D’Amelio’s tearful Instagram Live stream after the scandal erupted, where she apologized to her fans, Barrett and Hudson for dealing with the drama “immaturely” and similarly claiming that it should have been dealt with privately. Read More: What does August 27 mean on TikTok? – Despite Barret’s answer, it doesn’t look like fans are ready to forgive the TikToker in wake of Charli’s tweets, as she was also spotted in front of the Hype House — where Hudson lives — and quickly ran out of view of the camera. Despite the volcanic drama eruption, it looks like everything has been settled between all parties involved, although many fans are still suspicious of Hudson and Barrett as the TikTok sphere settles down from a week of unprecedented unrest in the community.

  • Nessa Barrett responds to rumors of dating Olivia Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend Zack Bia – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett responds to rumors of dating Olivia Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend Zack Bia YouTube: Jimmy Kimmel Live, ELLETikTok star and music artist Nessa Barrett has debunked rumors from fans that claimed she was secretly dating Olivia Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend, Zack Bia. Nessa Barrett is a high-profile TikTok star and budding music artist, most recently celebrating the launch of her latest album, ‘Young Forever,’ in October. As a bonafide internet celebrity, fans are always curious about her relationship status, especially after her unexpected split from ex-boyfriend Jaden Hossler over the summer. For now, it looks like Nessa is decidedly single, although fans did peep her supporting Hossler at a recent concert — but now, they’re convinced she’s got something going on with Zack Bia, instead. Bia is a notable DJ and socialite who dated Gen-Z pop icon Olivia Rodrigo for several months up until August 2022, when they amicably parted ways due to reported conflicts in their professional lives. Nessa Barrett shuts down Zack Bia dating rumors Fans started to link Barrett and Bia after the two were spotted hanging out together in a few social media posts — not helped by Nessa tweeting out “Gemini” with a blushing face emoji, which they couldn’t help but notice is Bia’s astrological sign. Unfortunately for shippers, this romance just isn’t meant to be. Nessa quickly shut down any rumors of her and Bia being together in a response to the TeaTokTalk Instagram page. “No, please, no,” she shot back. “Zach is my friend. Lmao no?” Fans are assuming that her response to the theories is legit, considering that she also misspelled Zack’s name — much to their apparent relief, if the comments section is anything to go by. This latest news comes after Nessa opened up on even more rumors from her fanbase, which appeared to think that Jaden had cheated on her during their relationship. While Nessa didn’t confirm or deny anything, she did appear to hint that some kind of infidelity was afoot on her ex’s end during their romance.

  • Nessa Barrett responds to bizarre conspiracy theory about new song with Jaden Hossler – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett responds to bizarre conspiracy theory about new song with Jaden Hossler Instagram: nessabarrettTikTok star Nessa Barrett has responded to a bizarre conspiracy theory picking up traction on TikTok, centering around a particular lyric in her new song with fellow influencer Jaden Hossler. [jwplayer pNjHVqy4] With over 14 million followers, Nessa Barrett is a hugely successful influencer on viral video-sharing app TikTok. But one of the things her fans love her for the most is her stunning singing voice, having released several songs. Back in December, Nessa teased a new single featuring fellow TikTok star Jaden Hossler, who goes by ‘jxdn.’ The short snippet they released was highly praised by fans, with many anticipating what promised to be a great song. The single, titled ‘La Di Die,’ was eventually released on February 18, and fans absolutely loved the cool track featuring vocals from both the stars. But one TikTok user, bxllakate, gained traction on the app after posting a theory about the new song. They suggested that the lyrics, “I’ll be dead at 27, only nine more years to go,” could be a reference to a conspiracy called the ’27 Club.’ The ‘club’ is a list of names of famous people who died at age 27, such as Amy Winehouse, with many members of the list being noted for their ‘high-risk’ lifestyles. https://www.tiktok.com/@bxllakate/video/6930791800605068550?_d=secCgYIASAHKAESMgowlODUHFVjhRNdXMXoEaeE9UxSr2arztAGrtsV0PC6fNEOpbJl3bDdmRAbTwYlw8dGgA&language=en&preview_pb=0&sec_user_id=MS4wLjABAAAAnEzepZPJq-vfa8DXK6LYJXEVhws-eZKfq-nQ2ZXRSHL6ZW_SerPhZbNl0SbysPuk&share_item_id=6930791800605068550&share_link_id=2D2B0448-2223-44DB-A4A9-A722DA06CE56×tamp=1613739905&tt_from=copy&u_code=d33l8bc591jd18&user_id=6621960276778024965&utm_campaign=client_share&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=copy&source=h5_m&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6891581267042141701 The TikTok claims that the list identifies people who have “sold their souls for fame,” with some commenters finding the similarity between the theory and Nessa’s lyrics concerning. However, Nessa was quick to reply to the video, simply saying “I would never sell my soul,” which seemed to quell many fans’ concerns. It is possible that the TikTok star included the lyrics as an intentional reference to the 27 Club, as several artists have done in the past. Nessa has spoken out about mental health through her music before, recently sharing a snippet of a song about the experience of her first suicide attempt. Read More: TikTok’s viral new Lana Cult trend – Several TikTokers like Charli and Dixie D’Amelio have addressed bizarre conspiracy theories about them in the past, as sometimes they can garner quite a lot of attention on the platform. • Nessa Barrett opens up on Jaden Hossler cheating rumors – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett opens up on Jaden Hossler cheating rumors YouTube: Nessa BarrettInfluencer and music artist Nessa Barrett opened up about her breakup with Jaden Hossler during a tell-all episode of the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast. Nessa Barrett’s love life has been a point of interest for fans ever since she split up with TikTok star Josh Richards last year. Their breakup preceded Nessa’s next relationship with Jaden Hossler, a TikToker and music artist she collaborated with on their joint song ‘La Di Die.’ Although the two stars seemed to be going steady, they unexpectedly parted ways in May 2022, claiming in public statements that they “broke up to take time to focus on our own careers and mental health.” However, fans weren’t convinced that their split was fully amicable. Theories abounded that Hossler had actually cheated on Nessa during his live tour — something she addressed in an October 18 episode of the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast. Nessa Barrett hints at Jaden Hossler affair rumors “Okay, not physically, I don’t think,” she said when asked about the issue by host Alex Cooper. “I don’t blame him for anything because at the time, when things started happening, I wasn’t the best person in a relationship because I was struggling so much.” “I know how it feels to want attention from other people when you’re not getting it from the person you’re with. There are just a few things I wasn’t too happy about, and that made me very insecure.” Nessa’s answer was fairly vague, but some fans are taking it to mean that there may have been some possible emotional infidelity on Jaden’s part that could have happened during their relationship, resulting in Nessa’s unhappiness. For now, Nessa appears to be single as she celebrates the recent release of her new album, ‘Young Forever.’

  • Nessa Barrett reacts to rumors of boxing match with Mads Lewis – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett reacts to rumors of boxing match with Mads Lewis YouTube: Dixie D’Amelio, The Hollywood FixTikTok star and music artist Nessa Barrett has finally responded to the possibility of a boxing match with rival Mads Lewis after a number of women influencers expressed their desire to get in the ring. It looks like the beef between Mads Lewis and Nessa Barrett has taken a downturn after Barrett was approached by paparazzi regarding a potential bout between the two of them. The rivalry between Lewis and Barrett sparked some time ago, but came to a head in early April, after Barrett appeared in a music video with Jaden Hossler — Lewis’s on-again, off-again boyfriend. The two struck up an official relationship shortly afterwards, prompting outrage from the TikTok fanbase and leaving Lewis feeling burnt. She then appeared on an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she claimed that Nessa had treated her badly before the drama with Hossler ever went down. Months later, the TikTok space erupted with boxing fever in wake of the YouTubers vs TikTokers boxing event. In fact, a number of high-profile female TikTok stars uploaded videos saying they wanted their turn in the ring. The trend has even sparked a fake “fight card” circling on social media — a faux poster that pits Barrett and Lewis against each other as the main event. View this post on Instagram Unfortunately, it looks like this bout might not ever come to be. When approached by paparazzi about the possibility, Barrett had a short and sweet response: “I’m not entertaining any of that.” This comes just a week after paps asked Lewis the same question, who claimed that she was down for the fight but wasn’t “confirming anything.” That being said, there’s enough interest around an all-female influencer boxing card that a possible event around the idea might not be too far off… but it looks like the beef between Mads Lewis and Nessa Barrett will be staying out of the ring.

Nessa Barrett opens up about year-long struggle with eating disorder Instagram: nessabarrettTikTok star Nessa Barrett revealed she’s been suffering from a year-long struggle with anorexia in a soul-baring Instagram post where she thanked her fans for their support. Nessa Barrett is a major figure on TikTok, where she boasts over 19 million followers. However, she’s been branching out from social media to pursue a career in music, releasing her debut album ‘Young Forever’ last year. Barrett has been touring and performing live over the past few weeks, her Instagram feed filled with images showing the influencer singing to crowds full of fans — but some of her posts have sparked concern from listeners. On February 24, Barrett posted some selfies showing off her bare arms and stomach. Her appearance raised alarm bells for fans, many of whom urged the singer to get help for what they speculated could be a possible eating disorder. Nessa Barrett reveals year-long struggle with anorexia On March 20, Barrett opened up about her year-long struggle with anorexia in a tell-all Instagram post where she revealed she’d relapsed in her eating disorder and would even faint from weakness. “This tour made me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, but I do want to be open with you guys because there’s so much you don’t see,” she wrote. “I relapsed in my eating disorder and have heavily struggled with anorexia for almost a year now.” “I couldn’t seem to get myself to recover or even want help until this tour. I would pass out and collapse from my body being too weak, I needed to realize food is important for you so I could be physically able to perform every night.” She went on to post another short message to her Instagram stories, where she thanked her fans for their support after opening up about the difficult situation she faces with her ED. “You guys saved me, and it’s so important for me to continue to be vulnerable because this is what my music is all about,” she wrote. “I love you all endlessly.” This isn’t the first time she’s been vulnerable about her eating disorder; Barrett also spoke about the issue early last year in a live stream with fans, asking them not to make comments about her body. Nessa Barrett has also stood up for other online figures facing bullying and harassment, notably sticking up for the TikTok-famous ‘scar girl’ when critics accused her of faking her dark facial scar.

  • Nessa Barrett & Josh Richards spark dating rumors after leaving party together – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett & Josh Richards spark dating rumors after leaving party together Instagram: TikTokInsiders / joshrichards / nessabarrettTikTok stars Nessa Barrett and Josh Richards are sparking some serious dating rumors after the ex-couple was spotted getting cozy at a party this past weekend. Nessa Barrett is back in the news after her recent split from former boyfriend and fellow music artist Jaden Hossler. The two went public with their relationship in 2021, prompting a slew of outrage online from fans of their ex-partners, Josh Richards and Mads Lewis, who they had purportedly been romantically involved with at the time. Although the backlash died down in the following year, speculation ramped up again after Barrett and Hossler confirmed they had parted ways in May 2022. After news of their breakup circulated online, Barrett was seen out on a walk with her ex-boyfriend, Josh Richards. A photo of the two instantly went viral on social media, setting off a tirade of rumors that claimed the two may be secretly back together. However, Josh Richards denied these assertions and stated that Nessa had merely wanted to talk and “get some closure.” It looks like fans are taking his words with a hefty grain of salt, though, as he and Nessa were spotted together at a party the following weekend — and the ex-couple was getting pretty cozy, by the looks of it. A few videos and photos taken at the function appear to show Nessa and Josh embracing one another and making close conversation on the dance floor. A text message from a person purportedly at the event, shared to popular Instagram tea page ‘TikTokInsiders,’ claims that they saw the two TikTokers “making out and dancing and grinding” — and even claimed that they had left the party together. View this post on Instagram While it’s unclear if these two internet stars are really back together again, their appearance at the party is certainly piquing fans’ interest… especially after Richards claimed that he hadn’t even “thought of” rekindling his romance with Nessa in a prior podcast episode.

  • Nessa Barrett opens up about bipolar disorder amid online bullying – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett opens up about bipolar disorder amid online bullying YouTube: Famous Birthdays[jwplayer ksH6zuKH]TikTok star Nessa Barrett has opened up about her struggles with mental health after receiving massive backlash due to her alleged involvement with Chase Hudson while he was still dating Charli D’Amelio. Nessa Barrett is a popular face on TikTok, boasting over 10 million followers due to her viral dance videos and unique look. However, in spite of her popularity, Barrett has been a controversial figure among critics for quite some time due to uploading a TikTok in April where she danced to audio of the Quran being read aloud. The TikToker further incited the wrath of fans after being exposed by Charli D’Amelio for allegedly kissing Chase Hudson while he and Charli were still dating, leading to a slew of backlash against the star online — especially after viewers accused her of copying her new song from singer Madison Beer. Barrett has since opened up about her struggles with mental health and social media, admitting in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she has been diagnosed with such conditions as anxiety, depression and even bipolar disorder. “I wrote it during a really vulnerable time,” Barrett said of her debut song, ‘Pain.’ “I was dealing with a lot heartbreak and hate on social media. I was just going through a lot. I kinda wanted to express how I was feeling with my song, because a lot of people can’t really see how I truly feel through a 15-second TikTok.” “I’ve been in therapy for anxiety since I was like, six,” she continued. “And then, when I was about 14, I was misdiagnosed with depression. And then, recently, I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.” Despite these instances and the online bullying she receives, Barrett has learned how to handle the haters, and is hoping for a gradual change in the TikTok community. “All the hate I got was overwhelming,” she said of the backlash she’s received online due to her past drama. “I had to spend time away from reading comments, watching hate videos on me. ….it happens and it sucks, but we have to deal with it. And I hope it changes.”

  • Nessa Barrett hits back at fans accusing her of copying Madison Beer – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett hits back at fans accusing her of copying Madison Beer Instagram: NessaBarrett/MadisonBeerTikTok star Nessa Barrett has hit back at claims that she copied Madison Beer’s ‘Selfish’ music video with one of her recent Instagram posts. As TikTok has boomed in popularity and hit the mainstream, it has created a wide-ranging number of new social media stars. Some have branched out from TikTok to YouTube while others are all about Twitter and Instagram instead. In recent days, Nessa Barrett – who has close to ten million followers on TikTok – has come under fire from fans of Madison Beer for apparently copying her ‘Selfish’ music video but taking pictures of herself sitting under the backdrop of rain. While the TikTok star had remained quiet on the matter, she has now responded with a few different comments on her Instagram. Instead of replying to different individual comments, Barrett just dropped a general comment under her post on July 27 noting that she isn’t “copying anyone” with the theme of her photo. “Hi! Rain has been used so many times before not just by one person,” the TikTok star commented on her post. “No, I’m not copying anyone. It’s a total different vibe. Please stop comparing me. I’m myself and only myself.” https://www.instagram.com/p/CDKDNx1HSlY/ That wasn’t her only response on the matter, however, as Nessa also dropped an Instagram story about the comments with a similar message. “Hi babes! Pls [please] stop comparing me to other people,” she said. “I’m myself and will also be myself.” https://www.instagram.com/p/CDKDSjmHXgC/ While the TikTok star will, no doubt, want the matter to be closed, she can’t stop people making comparisons because that’s always going to happen in one way or another. She could restrict comments on her Instagram posts like other people do themselves, but that would also take away the supportive responses that she gets. So, we’ll just have to see what happens later down the line.

  • Nessa Barrett doesn’t want Josh Richards in any of her music videos – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett doesn’t want Josh Richards in any of her music videos YouTube: Griffin JohnsonNessa Barrett doesn’t ever want to have boyfriend Josh Richards in one of her music videos, the TikToker turned musician told Griffin Johnson, because of how much impact he’ll have on the music and the video. Griffin Johnson has been friends with Nessa Barrett and Josh Richards for quite some time. Just recently, he sat down with the lovebirds and asked them all kinds of interesting questions about their relationship. It started with light questions like “Is Josh good at being romantic?” and “What was your first impression of Josh?” Hilariously, Nessa didn’t hold back and roasted him for almost three minutes straight. However, things got pretty deep at one point, too. Griffin asked Nessa if she’ll ever let Josh be in one of her music videos. She giggled at first, which led them to believe that she didn’t want him to be involved at all. But as it turned out, they were right. Nessa stunned them with what they considered to be a rational and well-thought-out response. Here’s what she had to say and the reason why she doesn’t want Josh to be in her music videos. “I don’t want people to associate the meaning behind my songs with his name,” said Nessa. “Once I release music, it’s not only my song anymore. It’s everyone else’s who listens to it. So, I want them to kind of listen to the song and relate it to their life. Not to listen to the song and put my life into it.” “Damn. I was not expecting that,” laughed Griffin. “I was [completely absorbed] in it. So, I take it you and Josh are never going to collab on a song?” “I’m just taking music very seriously,” she replied, alluding to the fact that her music career means a lot on a deeper level. Griffin and Josh burst out laughing at the thought that Josh is probably too much of a clown and will taint her work. The relevant part of the video starts at 3:10. In the end, though, it seems like they both understood her reasoning. Nessa cares a lot about her music, and it shows. Fans also loved the chemistry between the three of them. They praised Griffin for making the video and hinted they’d love to see him do the same thing with other influencers, too. But we’ll have to wait and see whether that happens.

  • Nessa Barrett hits back at claims she was shading Mads Lewis – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett hits back at claims she was shading Mads Lewis Casius Dean PhotoshootNessa Barrett has been accused of throwing Mads Lewis some shade after hiding comments from fans on Twitter suggesting the two collaborate, but the TikTok star has hit back and claimed nothing was shady about it at all. [jwplayer ZXB9LNVP] Nessa Barrett and Mads Lewis were inseparable once upon a time. The two of them were an unstoppable force, with millions of fans between them across Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. Unfortunately, it seems like their friendship came to a bitter end after Nessa Barrett stopped following Mads Lewis on social media and deleted the many pictures she had of them posing together. However, Mads is still following Nessa on Instagram and hasn’t taken down their pictures together, which had led to their fans and followers believing the bitterness is one-sided. Some have even speculated that their falling out might tie into the drama between Nessa and Chase Hudson. Either way, it seems like something happened between them. Now, Nessa Barrett has been accused of adding more fuel to the fire after many claimed she shaded her ex-best friend once again. Did Nessa Barrett shade Mads Lewis on Twitter? Nessa Barrett posted a harmless Tweet stating, “Feature ideas for a song or just curious.” However, many of her followers weren’t sure what she meant and chimed in with countless collaboration suggestions. A portion of them rummaged through a list of replies she had hidden and discovered Mads Lewis was a common denominator. “Pleasure feature Avani or Mads or Josh,” wrote one fan. “MADS,” and “Madison Lewis,” wrote two others. Some of them found it a little odd and claimed it was another example of her throwing Mads Lewis some shade. This prompted Nessa Barrett to respond, saying, “A lot of [people] didn’t know what I meant and were commenting song ideas to my tweet so I liked the first one that I saw was actually giving me feature ideas,” she said. “Nothing [about] this was supposed to be shady,” she added. “I just liked the first one that I saw.” Needless to say, the situation and her response sparked a bit of division on social media. Some believe there is unquestionable truth in her words, and the whole situation has been blown way out of proportion. Others claim it’s pretty clear Nessa Barrett wasn’t keen on seeing Mads Lewis name in the suggestions, so she filtered them out. Either way, it seems like the falling out is still fresh, and they won’t be mending their friendship anytime soon. However, time heals all wounds, and many mutual fans would love to see them reunited once again down the track.

  • Nessa Barrett hits back at critics after posting photo of her smoking – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett hits back at critics after posting photo of her smoking Instagram: nessabarrettTikTok star Nessa Barrett has called out critics on her Instagram story after uploading an image of her smoking, with the influencer calling them “soft” and saying she doesn’t care. [jwplayer pNjHVqy4] 18-year-old Nessa Barrett is a hugely popular star on social media app TikTok, with over 13 million followers on the platform alone. Like many on the app, Nessa is known for her lip-sync and dance content, getting millions of likes and views on just about every video she posts. The social media star has also proven in the past that she’s not afraid to speak her mind, whether that’s against criticism directed towards her, or in calling out other people. At the start of the new year, she called out people who weren’t obeying health regulations following a divisive influencer vacation to the Bahamas, calling them “selfish.” However, now the criticism has been directed toward her again after she uploaded a series of pictures with TikToker Cooper Noriega, showing the pair both lighting and smoking cigarettes together. While the image got over 1 million likes, there were some people in the comments who didn’t agree that the image should have been uploaded publicly, telling Nessa that they feel as though she shouldn’t have uploaded them in the first place. View this post on Instagram “Yikes, promoting cigarette smoking to your young impressionable fans? Do better,” one commenter wrote, others saying simply “don’t smoke” and, “cigs are bad for you.” Following the outrage from some commenters, Nessa decided to post one of the messages on her Instagram story in order to respond to the backlash and tell people that she wasn’t bothered. Next to the comment and the image of her and Cooper smoking, she wrote, “you guys are so soft lmao. Stfu because I don’t care.” Nessa’s response clearly explained where she stands on the subject of the backlash, though it likely wasn’t the response that many wanted to hear. Fans seem to be split down the middle, with many referencing the fact the TikTok star Charli D’Amelio was slammed for a similar situation back in August. Nessa is clearly standing by her new Instagram photos, at least for the time being.

  • Nessa Barrett hits back at “annoying” fans after showing off new boyfriend – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett hits back at “annoying” fans after showing off new boyfriend YouTube: Call Her DaddyTikTok star Nessa Barrett is hitting back at “annoying” criticism from her fanbase after revealing her new boyfriend in a series of Instagram posts after her breakup from Jaden Hossler. Nessa Barrett is a bonafide internet celebrity, boasting over 19 million followers on TikTok on top of her budding career as a music artist. Despite the recent buzz stemming from the release of her new album, ‘Young Forever,’ Nessa’s relationship status is still taking center stage for fans who are constantly on the lookout for a new guy in her life. Barrett most recently parted ways with fellow influencer-artist Jaden Hossler over the summer, and has been single since then (although rumors persisted she was dating Olivia Rodrigo’s ex-man, Zack Bia — which she firmly denied). Now, though, it’s looking like Barrett is back in the dating game after she showed off a new guy on her Instagram profile — but it doesn’t look like fans are too impressed with her choice. Many commenters seemed upset that Barrett was jumping back into a relationship so soon after her split from Hossler, while others took issue with the fact that her new guy seems to run in the same circles as her close friends. Nessa Barrett tells fans to “stop being annoying” after revealing new boyfriend Nessa Barrett hit back at the backlash in a series of Tweets, asking her fans to “just chill” and “stop being annoying” in regards to the criticism of her apparent new relationship. “So upsetting,” she wrote. “Hate that I get upset with y’all, but seriously, just chill. Stop being annoying, please.” “I’m happy. I’m GOOD,” she continued. “But be for real.” For now, it’s unclear exactly who the new guy is, but fans are theorizing it’s a person by the name of Harley Solomon, who has over 20,000 followers on his Instagram profile. This is far from the first time Nessa has had to put her fans in their place; in September, Nessa hit back at critics for their “f**king ridiculous” assumptions about her friendship with Mads Lewis after making a few ill-timed posts on social media.

  • Nessa Barrett hits back at attacks telling her to kill herself – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett hits back at attacks telling her to kill herself YouTube: Nessa BarrettTikToker Nessa Barrett has, once again, had to hit out against some of the trolls who harass her online, after their bullying took a sinister turn. Barrett has had a difficult few days after becoming unwittingly involved in the Jaden Hossler and Mads Lewis ‘diss track’ drama. After hinting at a collaboration with Hossler on Twitter, she was accused of ‘shading’ his ex girlfriend and former friend, Lewis by hiding a range of Twitter replies referring to her. However, judging by her recent Tweets, Barrett has enough problems of her own to concern herself with someone else’s drama, as she opened up about some of the intense abuse she had recently received online on Twitter. In a series of Tweets, she appealed to trolls to “stop telling [her] to kill [her]self,” explaining that she doesn’t “need to hear it anymore on top of [her] own thoughts [she] battle[s] everyday.” Read More: Top 20 most followed Twitch streamers – Giving an insight to the struggles of being in the public eye, Barrett tells fans that they “have no idea how draining it is.” In response to these raw and honest Tweets, fans on Instagram rallied around the TikToker, with one user saying: “Imagine receiving thousands of death treats I could never — all I have to say is she’s so strong.” Another user said that the fact that she had to tweet this was “so sad,” while a further user said “TikTok is so toxic damn.” Nessa Barrett’s mental health battle Nessa Barrett has bravely spoken out about her experiences with mental health several times in the past. In an August interview with Entertainment Tonight, she opened up about being diagnosed with conditions like anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. “I’ve been in therapy for anxiety since I was like, six,” she said at the time. “And then, when I was about 14, I was misdiagnosed with depression. And then, recently, I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.” Being a singer as well as a TikToker, she channelled a lot of her mental heath struggles into songs such as her debut single ‘Pain,’ which she explains was written during a “really vulnerable time” where, among other things, she was once again receiving a lot of hate online. She also spoke out on Twitter in September about the “serious” and “personal” nature of her mental health issues after she was filmed crying in a restaurant by celebrity paparazzo Kevin Wong. Hopefully, Barrett’s latest Tweets will be enough of a wake up call for trolls to stop harassing her when she is already feeling vulnerable.

Some fans believe that Nessa may have gotten lip injections — and not all of them are happy about it. “They just keep getting bigger,” one critic wrote in the comments section on the popular Instagram tea page ‘TeaTokTalk.’ “She be looking more like a duck now.” “I am [not] a fan of cosmetic surgery,” another wrote. “Makes me feel bad for kids who look up to her.” “[Her] lips are ugly,” another said. However, fans in the comments section of her TikTok video are all about her new look, with some even asking for the lip liner/gloss combo she used. That’s not all; some viewers couldn’t help but notice that she captioned the clip “booch,” referencing the Instagram handle of her possible new boyfriend, who she was seen with in photos in late November — something that also garnered some criticism. This isn’t the first time Nessa has come under fire for her new boo; fans had a similar reaction when they were first photographed together last month, prompting her to lash out at her fanbase in a series of pointed tweets calling them “annoying.” Nessa is certainly not the first TikToker to face backlash for purported plastic surgery. Most recently, influencer-singer Malu Trevejo received a slew of negative comments after viewers became convinced that she’d gone under the knife, while fellow music artist Madison Beer has had to defend herself from trolls who’ve accused her of lying about receiving cosmetic procedures.

  • Nessa Barrett doesn’t seem to be aware she’s Josh Richards’ girlfriend – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett doesn’t seem to be aware she’s Josh Richards’ girlfriend YouTube: Josh RichardsTikTok stars Nessa Barrett and Josh Richards have been pulling a “Braddison” on their fans for some time now — and things are getting even more confusing, after Richards apparently admitted they’re dating, much to Nessa’s surprise. For those out of the loop of social media drama, TikTok seems to have a string of high-profile couples taking over the viral video app, many of whom are trying (or have unsuccessfully tried) to keep their relationships under wraps. Much like the on-again, off-again status of Bryce Hall and Addison Rae’s confusing romance over the past year, stars Nessa Barrett and Josh Richards have also bewildered their fans with a similar pseudo-relationship status. After breaking up this summer, it seems that the TikTokers have started to get cozy once again, appearing in each other’s social media posts and seeming to be on good terms. View this post on Instagram However, Josh Richards may have dropped some knowledge on both their fans and Nessa herself, after seeming to confirm that they are currently dating during his BFFs podcast with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. “That’s his girlfriend,” Portnoy said of the situation. “Yeah, that’s why she was on the show,” Josh explained. It seems that Nessa, though, was not aware of this development, as evidenced by a comment she made of Portnoy’s TikTok on the entire fiasco. “Weird,” she wrote. “I didn’t even know myself?” View this post on Instagram Needless to say, it seems that this news is shaking up the TikTok world, with many commenters claiming the ordeal is “embarrassing” for Richards. “Not Josh getting friend zoned,” one user wrote. “I’m sorry, but Nessa deserves WAY better than this boy,” another said. Still, it does seem like the ex-couple has grown close to each other, with Richards also joking that he had “competition” after Nessa came out as bisexual earlier this month. In fact, Richards said that he’d known about her orientation for some time, but kept it to himself until she was ready to talk about it. That just makes this latest development even more confusing, and fans are on the edges of their seats to see what comes next.

  • Nessa Barrett explains why she took a step back from ‘poisonous’ social media – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett explains why she took a step back from ‘poisonous’ social media Instagram: nessabarrettTikToker and singer Nessa Barrett has explained why she needed to distance herself from social media due to its impact on her mental health, ahead of the release of her EP ‘Pretty Poison.’ In her time on social media, Nessa Barrett has accumulated over 16 million TikTok followers, who have been hugely supportive of her flourishing career in music. Barrett became the center of some huge drama back in April, after it emerged that she had got together with Jaden Hossler, causing drama among them and their exes, Mads Lewis and Josh Richards. The pair came under an enormous amount of criticism online for making their relationship public so soon after the drama, and although the noise has since died down, it has no doubt had a lasting effect. On Zach Sang’s podcast, Nessa opened up about her reason for naming her upcoming EP ‘Pretty Poison,’ and it all comes back to the influencer world. “The title ‘Pretty Poison’ kind of represents my life,” she said. “I have a huge following, and I get so many comments saying like, ‘oh, I wish I were like you, I wish I lived your life, you’re so lucky,’ but kind of like the idea of ‘Pretty Poison’ itself, it seems so beautiful on the outside, but until you’re in it it’s so… it’s poison. “That’s kind of how my life is, and I truly do believe that no one really could walk a day in my shoes if they were me.” Topic starts at -35:40 (17:20) Nessa went on to explain the kind of relationship she has with social media lately. “Recently I’ve struggled with it a lot, I felt like it was bringing my mental health down a ton. It just got to a point where I would just go on an app and just instantly cry from something that I saw. It was terrible,” the singer said. She explained that she took about a month’s break from it, having her team post for her instead, occasionally borrowing her manager’s phone to post something quickly. Nessa has been open about her mental health in her music previously, and it seems as though many fans are looking forward to new releases from the star.

  • Nessa Barrett calls out “selfish” TikTok stars traveling amid Bahamas drama – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett calls out “selfish” TikTok stars traveling amid Bahamas drama Nessa BarrettNessa Barrett started the new year with some stern words directed at “selfish” people who aren’t following lockdown rules, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing. 2020 was a challenging year for many people, including Nessa Barrett. However, despite all the trials and tribulations, she kick-started her music career with two successful singles, and her popularity skyrocketed. Still, she’s almost certainly looking forward to leaving 2020 behind and moving on to bigger and better things in 2021. However, before she bid the year farewell, she had a fiery message to pass on to her fans. It seems like she has been incredibly frustrated with seeing people not following lockdown rules, and after social media stars like Dixie D’Amelio and Madi Monroe took a group trip to the Bahamas, she decided to call people out in a series of social media posts. “Happy new year, everyone,” she said. “As we are going in 2021, I hope and pray a lot of you selfish f**ks out there will wear your masks and social distance. It’s almost embarrassing to see so many people party, travel, and disrespect simple safety rules.” “I hope we can all wake up this year and start living out of love and sympathy for others rather than only caring about ourselves,” she added. View this post on Instagram “All the ignorant and selfish people out there that are partying and traveling and simply just not social distancing,” she said. “Because of you idiot f**ks, people are losing their lives and their jobs.” “And you people are out here simply making a mockery out of the global pandemic that’s going on right now,” she added. View this post on Instagram However, her comments led to mixed reactions. Some fans loved her remarks, while others called her out for not practicing what she’s preached. But then they were pleasantly surprised to hear her own up to her mistakes. “I know that I was one of those idiot f**ks during the beginning,” she said. “But then I saw how it was affecting innocent lives and innocent families, and how it even affected my family back home in New Jersey.” “And I grew the f**k up,” she added, “And started being selfless and caring about other people and following simple safety precautions during the pandemic.” View this post on Instagram Nessa might not be an authority figure on the topic, but at the very least, she’s trying to make a positive impact on the world. There’s no doubt that she has a lot planned in 2021. Her fans are looking forward to more hit singles and potentially an album.

  • Nessa Barrett defends TikTok ‘scar girl’ from “bullying and harassment” – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett defends TikTok ‘scar girl’ from “bullying and harassment” Instagram: nessabarrett, annbonelliTikTok star Nessa Barrett came to the defense of ‘scar girl,’ a creator on the platform who received criticism after viewers became convinced her facial scar wasn’t real. Influencer Ann Bonelli has risen to the top of TikTok fame over the past few weeks due to a unique facial scar she has on her left cheek. Although older photos of the creator show her with a reddish, faded scar, her scar has become much darker in her more recent posts — which some viewers aren’t convinced is actually real. Lately, Bonelli (now colloquially known as ‘scar girl’) has been taking fire for purportedly “faking” an injury and even playing a “bit” for social media. Bonelli, though, says she was originally injured in 2020 and worsened her scar by using a topical lightening cream that gave her a “chemical burn.” That isn’t stopping netizens from levying a critical eye at her, though… but another prominent influencer is coming to her defense. Nessa Barrett defends ‘scar girl’ after TikToker receives wave of criticism On January 17, TikTok star and singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett took to Twitter to defend ‘scar girl,’ claiming Bonelli was being unfairly “harassed and bullied” over her facial feature. “I don’t get the whole ‘scar girl’ thing, but I feel for her because she’s getting so much hate,” she wrote in a series of now-deleted posts. “Fake or not, she doesn’t deserve the bullying and harassment.” “I just think about it, and if you wanted to fake it to make it last, it’s pretty easier to make it look real, and I’m sure she’s smart enough to do so,” she continued. “What girl would rather have a thick, brown line on her face than a healed scar? I swear, it doesn’t make sense.” “What’s wrong with social media is that we are harassing a girl because of a scar and not using all of that energy toward people that actually deserve to have their platform removed.” Commenters on social media don’t seem to be in agreement with her, though. A slew of comments from Instagram tea page ‘TeaTokTalk’ are hitting back at Barrett for her thoughts on ‘scar girl,’ even saying that Barrett deserves to be deplatformed after her viral incident dancing to audio of the Quran being read aloud in 2020. Barrett has since deleted her tweets on the subject and posted a lengthy reply to the criticism she received in an Instagram comment, where she reiterated her support for Bonelli and called out online negativity. Bonelli, for her part, continues to claim that her facial injury is real and makes multiple posts about body positivity on her account in spite of the constant criticism she sees in her comments.

  • Nessa Barrett called out for “copying” fans’ custom 5SOS tattoo – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett called out for “copying” fans’ custom 5SOS tattoo Instagram: nessabarrettTikTok star Nessa Barrett is being accused of copying a Twitter user’s Five Seconds of Summer tattoo, which they say was specially designed by band member Calum Hood. Nessa Barrett is a prominent TikToker and music artist, having released her debut album ‘Young Forever’ in late 2022. Barrett is known for her alternative style, boasting dark hair and makeup and a slew of tattoos, each of which has its own special meaning — most of which, she admitted, “have something to do with music.” However, one of her music-related tats is coming under scrutiny after a fan of the ban 5 Seconds of Summer claimed she ripped off her design. Nessa Barrett accused of copying 5SOS fan’s custom tattoo On March 7, a Twitter user called out Barrett for stealing her tattoo, claiming that the ink was actually written out by 5SOS’s very own vocalist Calum Hood. The tattoo is a phrase written in small, handwritten script that reads: “I still burn for you.” “I cannot get over the fact that Nessa Barrett copied my 5SOS tattoo that Calum wrote out for me,” the user claimed. “@nessabarrett, explain yourself.” The user went on to claim that she’d posted a pic of her tattoo to Pinterest, meaning that Barrett may have seen it while scrolling through the site and decided to get it for herself. The resulting conversation has been a mixed one, with some users arguing that it’s perfectly fine to copy someone’s tattoo idea if it was posted online, while others say it’s a bit odd to take someone else’s design without asking. “I literally saw a girl get a tattoo of a fairy on TikTok, so I [screen shotted] it and got the exact tattoo,” one netizen said. “It’s not personal. If someone sees something cute, they’re gonna do it.” I literally saw a girl get a tattoo of a fairy on tiktok so i ss it and got the exact tattoo. It’s not personal. • Nessa Barrett calls kiss with Chase Hudson a “terrible mistake” – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett calls kiss with Chase Hudson a “terrible mistake” YouTube: Nessa Barrett, Chase HudsonIn early July, the TikTok fan base exploded with drama after Charli D’Amelio seemed to accused ex-boyfriend Chase Hudson of cheating on her with fellow influencer Nessa Barrett — an incident that Barrett claims was a huge regret for her. [jwplayer MvEjv9It] For those not in the loop, TikTok went through “dramageddon” this summer, which kicked off thanks to some seriously shady tweets from social media star Charli D’Amelio toward the Sway House’s very own Chase Hudson. Claiming that Chase had swapped spit with Nessa Barrett during an off-point in their relationship (although they still seemed to be sweet on each other), the internet was quick to turn on the internet’s favorite e-boy with harsh judgement — as well as Nessa Barrett, the then-recent ex-girlfriend of TikToker Josh Richards. However, Chase claimed that both he and Nessa had been single at the time, prompting even more outrage around the situation, which later prompted Chase to air out allegations of infidelity among some of TikTok’s elite male creators. While Chase and Charli quickly made amends (and even seem to be on good terms now), Barrett still regrets ever having kissed Chase amid the confusion of his relationship with the youngest D’Amelio sister, as told during an Instagram Live interview with the Zach Sang Show on October 9. “Yeah, that was a terrible mistake that I made,” she said of the incident. “But I don’t think that we should have gotten hate for it online. But I do regret that, a lot.” https://www.instagram.com/p/CGIq9-In4c6/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link “I don’t know — I was still in love with Josh,” she continued. “I don’t know why, a lot of people are trying to make it seem like a cheating scandal thing. …I didn’t intend for any of that to happen. Sometimes, things just happen. I’m 18, you know? It was obviously the wrong person, and… I don’t know.” Jokingly comparing their smooch to a “test drive,” it seems that her kiss with Chase wasn’t really much of “fling,” after all — and while she was adamant that they had both been single at the time, the drama from the fallout of their kiss seems to have put a dark stain on that particular moment for the TikToker.

  • Nessa Barrett apologizes after backlash over “racist” TikTok – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett apologizes after backlash over “racist” TikTok Instagram: Nessa BarrettOne of TikTok’s biggest stars, Nessa Barrett, has apologized after a video she posted dancing to sound of the Quran being read aloud after it was labeled “racist”. She says that she was not aware that the audio was a reading from the holy text. Barrett boasts over 6 million followers on TikTok, and is closely associated with other stars in content houses such as the Hype House, as well as being in a relationship with another popular TikTokker and YouTuber, Josh Richards. The 17-year-old has since deleted the video, which many called offensive, and has apologized, claiming that neither she or her friend knew the source of the audio. https://twitter.com/yousefslym/status/1248043298482032640 In an Instagram Live, Barrett defended herself, explaining “My step-siblings and stepmom are from Egypt and all that stuff. I know that it could have been taken offensively.” Her apology did little to quell the criticism though. “Having a Muslim stepmom doesn’t justify what you did,” one comment read. Many also doubted that Barrett was unaware that it was from the Quran, as the original caption on the video read “I’m Muslim and I oop-.” Barrett claimed in her Instagram Live that she had simply stumbled upon the audio while browsing the ‘For You’ page on TikTok, and thought it was “cute.” Barrett’s boyfriend Josh Richards commented on the controversy in an Instagram Live, saying “I had no idea what it was either when I first saw the video, I didn’t know that was the Quran.” In response to people who said her first apology “wasn’t good enough”, Nessa released another TikTok to apologize further. “I am truly and deeply sorry to those who I have offended, I love people of all races, religions, shapes, and sizes.” She reiterated that she first saw the video of an “old man” and that if she had “known that it was something so sacred, I would never have used it.” Barrett concluded by saying that the hate she was receiving was “really hard to handle, and it’s also coming at my friends and family, which is completely unacceptable, as it was my mistake, and not theirs.” Barrett’s second apology video has racked up over 3.4 million views already, and attracted over 60,000 comments, some sympathetic, while others are still unforgiving.

  • Nessa Barrett asks obsessive fans for “privacy” when out in public – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett asks obsessive fans for “privacy” when out in public Instagram: nessabarrettTikTok star Nessa Barrett has taken to Twitter to request some privacy from prying fans after finding them constantly accosting her during meals out. With a 12-million strong TikTok following and a growing music career, Nessa Barrett is one of the hottest young stars in LA right now. However, as many such stars can attest to, the price of fame means that privacy is few and far in between. Only recently, fellow TikToker Jaden Hossler found himself being “followed” by celebrity photographer Kevin Wong in his car, while Barrett herself had to publicly plead for privacy after reporters photographed her crying during a meal earlier this year. Barret was frustrated after her November 14 meal at Saddle Ranch with on-off boyfriend Josh Richards and fellow influencers Mads Lewis and Jaden Hossler was interrupted by fans coming up to her table. as much as I love u guys. would pls love if I could have some privacy at dinner. pls don’t constantly come up to my table at dinner. catch me on the way out 🤍 — baby cowboy (@nessabarrett) November 15, 2020 Fans had a mixed response to Barrett’s request. Some claimed that being approached by followers was an inevitable aspect of Barrett’s career, with one Twitter user saying, “If you have followers, it’s going to happen. They don’t know if they will ever see you again. Respect their needs.” Similarly, another Twitter fan said, “I’m sorry but can’t you order food or cook at home because since your influencer obviously people are gonna come up to you. If I saw you, I would love to meet you.” Others were more sympathetic to Barrett’s request: “Well, regardless of influence, basic decency and manners aren’t to be ignored. She deserves the respect anyone else would ask for. She breathes and bleeds to same way we do so, it’s typical that she’d want to eat out for dinner just as any normal person would.” Over on Instagram, fans were similarly empathetic to Barrett’s situation: “I mean, she is right. At dinner she is trying to eat and spend time with her friends – just talk to her when she is leaving the place.” At the end of the day, there is no real right answer; while leaving celebrity figures alone in public is the decent thing to do, it’s also hard to expect everyone to abide by that, especially considering that most of these fan-bases are generally younger. That said, now that she has cleared things up on Twitter, Nessa Barrett will hopefully be able to have more privacy when out in public in the future.

  • Nessa Barrett and Mads Lewis clear up vague tweets amid “ridiculous” fan assumptions – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett and Mads Lewis clear up vague tweets amid “ridiculous” fan assumptions Instagram: nessabarrett, madslewisTikTok star Nessa Barrett has taken to Twitter to clear up some vague posts she made about her “best friends” after fans assumed she was throwing shade. There’s some drama brewing online between popular TikTokers Nessa Barrett and Mads Lewis… at least, that’s what fans are thinking. On September 15, Nessa Barrett posted two tweets that got fans talking. One read, “Dear God, do you hear me when I’m crying?” and another said, “Sab and Cynthia are my only friends.” Her last post refers to fellow influencers Sabrina Quesada and Cynthia Parker. However, fans thought she may have been throwing subtle shade toward TikToker Mads Lewis due to some drama stemming from a year ago. A quick rundown: Nessa and Mads were decidedly not on good terms with each other after Nessa started dating Jaden Hossler, Mads’ ex, in early 2021. Nessa and Jaden have since parted ways as of May 2022, but fans assumed that Nessa and Mads had made up in the interim. Mads Lewis addresses Twitter drama Mads Lewis was quick to clear up the ensuing drama as fans flooded social media with speculation. She posted a lengthy Notes post explaining things, saying that someone (apparently Nessa) had reached out to apologize on June 8. The two had a productive phone call, wherein Mads accepted Nessa’s apology and thought “we were on good terms.” After the passing of TikToker Cooper Noriega in June 2022, Sabrina Quesada and Nessa invited Lewis to Sabrina’s apartment to “see everyone.” Lewis claimed she “spent about an hour there.” “I thought we were on good terms. Never said we were besties. Just said we were mutuals. My apologies.” Nessa Barrett took to Twitter several hours later to further clarify the situation, calling fans’ assumptions about the whole ordeal “ridiculous.” “Sometimes I just tweet to tweet and I forget people assume things,” she wrote. “I was so confused why I got so much heat for tweeting about my best friends.” “My timing does indeed suck, but I didn’t see anything until after my tweets,” she continued. In a deleted post, Nessa wrote: “This is actually f**king ridiculous, lol I’m done. Goodnight. Pre-save my album.” For now, it’s looking like both influencers are still on good terms and have cleared things up with their respective fanbases. Mads’ latest tweet follows her viral comments about influencer Tayler Holder, another moment that sparked concerns from her followers.

Nessa Barrett and Talent X’s Michael Gruen bury the hatchet after feud Instagram: Nessa Barrett/Michael GruenAfter a public feud last month, TikTok’s Nessa Barrett and Talent X’s manager Michael Gruen appear to have squashed their long-running beef. Barrett and Gruen butted heads last month after the latter weighed in on Barrett’s new-found fame, which led to her making some explosive allegations against him in a podcast with her on-off boyfriend Josh Richards. However, Gruen confirmed in an Instagram post that the two were back on good terms, posting a group photo with Barrett and saying that he was “so thankful” for her. View this post on Instagram While Barrett seemed to return Gruen’s statements, saying that she was “so thankful” for him too, she couldn’t resist making light of their previous feud, saying in reference to his previous comments: “Thanks so much for paying for that one way trip to Mexico.” What happened between Nessa Barrett and Michael Gruen? It all started when on-off boyfriend Josh Richards began a podcast with friend and Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy titled BFFs. In the podcast’s inaugural episode, Portnoy implied that the only reason Barrett was famous was because she dated Richards. Unsurprisingly, Barrett’s fans didn’t take to this well, with several of her fan pages rushing to her defense. What these fan pages didn’t expect was the appearance of her manager, Talent X’s Michael Gruen in their comment section, wherein he said: “I must’ve missed the memo that Nessa – or anyone for that matter – deserves ‘the world.’ The earth is inhabited by ~7B people…last I checked Nessa is just one of them (along with myself and everyone else).” This led to Barrett unfollowing Gruen on Instagram, before later making her feelings known after appearing in the third episode of podcast BFFs. Calling him a “certified a**hole,” Barrett said: “I do not like him. He’s rude. He hates me. He has it out for me. I think he’s jealous because he’s secretly in love with Josh which is no problem, but yeah he has called me ugly to my face and in front of people.” She also claimed that he said he wanted to get her a one-way ticket to Mexico. “I’ve been sat there alone and I was 17, like he is just rude,” Barrett continued. “I just don’t waste my energy on him. I just don’t like him, he’s a terrible person.” Given how fractured the two’s relationship was in October, it is great that they have since let bygones be bygones!

The current drama surrounding Nessa Barrett, Josh Richards, Jaden Hossler, and Mads Lewis is a tad confusing for those out of the TikTok tea loop — but it has certainly made for an intriguing love quadrant. If you’re looking for an explanation, we’ve pieced together a timeline of the current situation, which has culminated in outrage among fans and heartache for the TikTokers involved. Mads Lewis and Jaden Hossler’s relationship takes a tumble Popular TikTok creators Mads Lewis and Jaden Hossler had been dating off-and-on since 2019. While everything seemed to be fine between the couple for quite some time, the two hit a bumpy road in February 2021, after Nessa Barrett released her song ‘La Di Die’ featuring Hossler. Fans began to suspect that something was amiss in Lewis and Hosslers’ relationship after they unfollowed each other on social media shortly after Nessa’s song went live — an issue that ramped up even more after Lewis published a damning TikTok that appeared to hint at infidelity on Hossler’s side. The video featured footage of Lewis and Hossler set to Taylor Swift’s ‘Better Than Revenge’ playing in the background. That’s not all; Lewis later posted an Instagram comment opening up further on the situation, giving even more hints at her issues with Hossler and Barrett potentially getting too cozy. “I was never jealous of a song nor jealous of her,” Lewis wrote. “I know Ness better than anyone and she knows exactly why I posted this video and that’s all that matters.” Nessa speaks out on Twitter While Mads purportedly attempted to reach out to Nessa privately, this conversation didn’t end up working out. However, Nessa did comment on the situation publicly in a March 2021 tweet, where she opened up about her mental health amidst the drama. i have been through so much recently. i’ve broken down completely 2 weeks ago and have nearly done something that is irreversible. i got up and decided to release all of the negatives in my life. i’m not in a place to entertain those full of hatred and lies. — baby cowboy (@nessabarrett) March 31, 2021 “I’ve broken down completely two weeks ago and have nearly done something that is irreversible,” she wrote. “I got up and decided to release all of the negatives in my life. • Nessa Barrett addresses claims her album will reveal “the truth” behind relationship drama – Dexerto

Nessa Barrett addresses claims her album will reveal “the truth” behind relationship drama Instagram: nessabarrettTikToker and artist Nessa Barrett has addressed claims that her upcoming album will reveal “the truth” behind the drama surrounding the start of her relationship with fellow influencer Jaden Hossler. Back in April 2021, chaos erupted online after it was revealed that Nessa Barrett and Jaden Hossler had started a relationship together, leaving their exes Mads Lewis and Josh Richards. The pair were flooded with hate online amid rumors that they’d cheated on their former partners, but as time went on the drama was laid to rest and the hate directed towards the couple slowed down. Nessa, who has over 17 million followers on TikTok, is also a successful musician, who has released several hit songs and her debut album ‘Pretty Poison.’ On January 21, friend of Nessa and YouTuber Tana Mongeau posted a video with the star in which she wrote: “When your bestie is releasing an album about the truth.” Many commenters assumed Tana to be talking about the huge drama surrounding Nessa and Jaden’s relationship. Click here if TikTok doesn’t load However, after the video was posted on tea page tiktokinsiders, Nessa clarified the rumor that she would be addressing the drama in her upcoming album. “I love Tana but my album has nothing to do with drama or anyone lol,” she wrote. Several commenters criticized Tana for trying to “start drama,” whereas others said they were disappointed as they were “excited” to see Nessa’s side of the situation. Regardless of what Nessa’s album is about, it’s clear that she has millions of fans who are eager to follow her music career as it continues to develop. That’s not the only time this particular drama has been brought up recently. On January 19, Mads Lewis had to address a fake tweet written in her name about her ex-boyfriend Jaden.

Nessa Barrett addresses claims of drug use after deleted videos go viral YouTube: Between Good & Evil By: Charlotte D’AlessioTikTok star Nessa Barrett is hitting back at rumors of drug use after fans speculated she was taking certain substances in three separate videos that she quickly deleted. Nessa Barrett is a popular TikTok creator and music artist. Due to her status as an internet star, her posts often garner a ton of attention… but her latest TikTok clips have kicked off a storm of speculation. On May 1, Barrett uploaded three separate videos to TikTok where she opened up with her fans in a string of seemingly unrelated soliloquies. In the clips, Barrett often pauses and looks around the room and at times widens her eyes, occasionally seeming to flip between melancholic and ecstatic emotions. “Sometimes, I just wanna come on here and say something,” she said in one of the clips. “Talk about what I did today, or… or what I didn’t do. The thing [unintelligible] drives you crazy. I’m outta my mind. But I love it!” “Let me tell you something — three things that saved my life,” she said in another video. “Mental hospital, God, and my cat. Just like that!” “…so, 9:56. My [unintelligible] just wore off. When you’re alone, it’s fine. Five minutes ago I was thinking what life would be like if I was an ant. I look at things in the world and I’m like, how would I live as a rock? That would be very interesting sometimes.” Nessa Barrett’s viral video spark drug use speculation Fans began to worry that Barrett was under the influence of drugs, sparking rumors that have made their way across social media. However, Barrett is denying these claims, posting a string of tweets refuting rumors of drug use. “Lol, I can’t talk in a video or do anything without people thinking I’m on drugs lol,” she wrote in a post on May 1. “If you count my mood stabilizers, then yes,” she said in another. “Why would I lie about being sober?” she added in another tweet. “People are so weird.” “Seriously though. Would you want to be a rock?” Barrett has also deleted all of the clips in question, which have managed to circulate around the internet on sites like Instagram and YouTube. This isn’t the first time she’s hit back at speculation about her health, by far. Last year, Barrett lashed out at “annoying” fans for criticizing her relationship after she posed with a new guy on social media.

  • Nessa Barret reveals first look at her brand new Tesla Model 3 – Dexerto

Nessa Barret reveals first look at her brand new Tesla Model 3 Instagram: nessabarrett/telsamotorsWith a net worth of $1 million at just 18 years old, it was only a matter of time before TikTok influencer Nessa Barrett started splashing the cash, and now she has with her first-ever car. With 10.3 million TikTok followers, 3.7 Instagram followers, and a thriving YouTube channel, brands have been lining up to offer Barrett a range of lucrative deals. Huge companies such as VintageWaves/MajorWaves, Novashine, and OG Scrunchies are just some of the big names out there that have offered Barrett endorsement deals in the past, with that number constantly growing as her reach continues to expand. So, as an 18-year-old millionaire, it is no surprise that Barrett is keen to show the fruits of her labor, as she flashed her first-ever car to followers on her Instagram story. As she showed off the interior of her new ride to adoring fans, it is hard not to notice the hugely recognizable Telsa symbol glinting on the steering wheel. Although Barrett is yet to post anything about her car’s exterior, the interior makes it clear that she is now the proud owner of a Telsa Model 3, which can cost up to an eye-watering $60,000. Given that most of our first cars were our parents’ station wagon from the 1980s, being able to purchase such a prestigious car solely through social media influencing is definitely impressive. On Instagram account the TikTok Tearoom, many commenters have expressed their congratulations. One user remarked that “she deserved it”, whilst another praised her for choosing an electric car specifically, saying: “we love an eco-friendly queen”. Model 3 Telsas are also 100% leather-free, which means as well as being sustainable, the car is also cruelty-free. https://www.instagram.com/p/B117O3mBl43/ However, not all comments were positive. Several users remarked to the drama account that this “wasn’t tea”, while others made reference to her farting during a livestream. This led to fans jumping to Barrett’s defense, with one pointing out that these trolls’ “bitterness show when they [TikTok Tea Room] post positive stuff and y’all comment “’this is not tea,’” adding that “it’s sad that y’all live off of negativity”. Barrett has certainly had a rough time with internet trolling as of late, as she was forced to deny bizarre rumors circulated by fans that she shortened her own spine. At the time, she remarked that the rumors were “stupid” because “people know I’m insecure about my height.” Ultimately, it is great to see that things are looking up for Barrett and wewish her the best of luck in her new wheels!

  • Nerd City “exposes” Lele Pons for editing her Instagram pictures – Dexerto

Nerd City “exposes” Lele Pons for editing her Instagram pictures Former Vine star-turned-YouTuber Lele Pons has been accused of editing her Instagram images and reshaping them to make her look more appealing by fellow YouTuber “Nerd City.” Lele Pons’ move from Vine to YouTube couldn’t have gone much better, as she has amassed more than 15 million subscribers on the platform. Even though each video garners millions of views, she still boasts a fair share of people out there who dislike her. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1hHFY9JsIG/ YouTuber Nerd City underwent an investigation on the social media celeb and claims she has been doctoring her Instagram photos using the “reshape” and “liquify” tools found in programs like Facetune and Photoshop. In his video on the subject, he showcases several of her images, and highlights numerous ones he believes to be edited and highlights the presumed changes. With each image, he points out the flaws such as warped tiles, messed up walls on buildings, and numerous other highlights he believes indicates the images have changed. In one instance, takes an image that was posted by both Lele Pons and by her official photographer. In the photographer’s image, he doesn’t find any faults – but can’t say the same for the one she posted. “What have you idiots done?” he asked. “This looks like a nuclear accident. The glass is turning into soot.” (Video begins at 44:20) Of course, none of this information can officially be verified, so it’s important to take it with a grain of salt and come to your own conclusions. Throughout the video, Nerd City believes that Lele Pons doesn’t hold herself to the same standards that she preaches. He claims she creates a lot of content about body positivity but then points out that she is allegedly editing her images. https://www.instagram.com/p/B6GxHnIpyky/ “And despite Lele’s participation in body positivity content and her encouragement to viewers to ‘be yourself,’ Lele doesn’t hold herself to that same standard,” he argued. Lele Pons isn’t the only creator, or even Vine star, who Nerd City has tried to expose in the past: in October 2018, the YouTuber released a video titled “The Lies of Jake Paul,” and claimed Paul was lying to Shane Dawson about advertising merchandise to his young audience. There’s no telling who the next YouTuber is that he has in his sights, but whoever it is will no doubt draw a lot of interest.

  • Nerd City Destroys Jake Paul, Claims That Every One of His Videos Breaks the Law – Dexerto

Nerd City Destroys Jake Paul, Claims That Every One of His Videos Breaks the Law YouTuber Nerd City has issued an eviscerating take down of Jake Paul in his latest video. Unlike most critics of Jake Paul, Nerd City went to another level in claiming that Paul’s videos are illegal. The United States and European Union passed laws that regulated how children could be advertised to and these laws are what NerdCity’s argument revolves around. The [1990 Children’s Television Act] does several things that intended to stop scumbags like the Pauls from exploiting younger viewers. Shows may not include commercials for products related to the program or featuring characters from the program. The CTA also stated that no more than 20% of a children’s program runtime can be advertisements. After establishing that Jake Paul targets children with his YouTube channel, using quotes from Paul himself, Nerd City analysed a recent Paul vlog to see if it follows the CTA. Out of a 13:57 video, nearly seven minutes of that time is devoted to advertising products. 50%. His advertising time is not the only law Paul breaks either, Nerd City dug up another one that is repeatedly ignored. Another prohibited tactic that Jake employs is to tell kids to tell their parents what to buy, that’s called pester power, and it’s illegal under the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive of the European Union. Nerd City goes on to show a number of incidents that may not be illegal, but should not be in a channel targeted towards children. The actual Jake Paul merchandise was not spared either, as the video shows most of it comes from online clip art or is even stolen from actual clothing designers. To watch Nerd City’s complete video, you can check it out below.

  • Nerd City Claims that Jake Paul Merch is Made with Clip Art – Dexerto

Nerd City Claims that Jake Paul Merch is Made with Clip Art Jake Paul has taken another punch from YouTuber Nerd City, who released a devastating video detailing the potentially illegal practices of the Paul’s. It was not just the way Jake Paul sells his merchandise to children however, the actual merchandise was also attacked by Nerd City. Nerd City claims that the designs featured on Jake Paul’s merchandise are actually clip art images downloaded off of the internet. [Jake Paul’s] merch is filled with clip art. I isolated the graphics in his hideous looking fashion line, reverse image searched them and got a bunch of hits. The video shows clip art designs from a Google image search compared to the designs on Jake Paul’s merchandise. To prove how easy it is to create merchandise like Jake Paul’s, Nerd City and his girlfriend created their own t-shirt. Jake Paul’s Jerika design is basically just a clip art of a goat with his signature on top. Jake Paul and I both have animal nicknames for our girlfriends. He calls Erika a goat, while I call Nikki a racoon… So maybe a clip art of a racoon with my name written over it can be our terrible t-shirt design. Below is Jake Paul’s Jerika shirt compared to what Nerd City created in minutes. • Nerd City reveal evidence that claims YouTube demonetizes LGBTQ titles – Dexerto

Nerd City reveal evidence that claims YouTube demonetizes LGBTQ titles GoogleNerd City believes they have proved that YouTube’s algorithm demonetizes any video which includes words or phrases relating to the LGBTQ community in their title, even showing off an extensive list of phrases used in their testing and their results. Demonetization is a significant topic of discussion among creators on the Google-owned platform, as YouTubers are paid based on advertising revenue, which disappears when videos are deemed to be unsuitable for the companies who pay to promote on the site. The terms and phrases that YouTube deem to be not “advertiser-friendly” are guarded with secrecy, so that users can’t attempt to cheat the system, but Nerd City believe that by conducting a massive test, they have found that the algorithm demonetized videos using words like gay, lesbian, or transgender, regardless of context. Nerd City, with the help of YouTube Analyzed and Sealow, tested 15,296 common words and phrases against YouTube’s bots to determine which will cause a video to be demonetized when used in the title, and found that certain phrases linked to the LGBTQ community were flagged by the bot. “If we took a demonetized video,” the YouTuber stated, “and changed the words ‘gay’ or ‘lesbian’ to ‘happy’ or ‘friend’, every single time the status of the video changed to advertiser-friendly.” They continued: “Most of the words are things which we would expect YouTube to censor. Many others put YouTube directly at odds with its progressive messages. What the bot thinks we’re talking about determines who sees the video. If the bot determines a problem, it won’t appear in subscriber feeds.” In the video posted by Nerd City, they uploaded one-to-two-second videos to the site which featured no audio or visual content that would result in demonetization. After going through this process, they found that the bots did not flag the terms straight and heterosexual, but gay and homosexual were. All 15,296 words and phrases have been released by Nerd City, including the results they found when testing them. “This is not a matter of LGBTQ personalities being demonetized for something that everyone else would also be demonetized for,” Sealow states. “This is LGBTQ terminology being the sole reason for a video being demonetized despite perfectly reasonable context.” As to why this is happening, Nerd City theorizes that the issue could be coming from the employees Google hire to handle manual appeals for demonetization, with Lionbridge AI which is the company that handles this process using people who operate in several countries where homosexuality is either frowned upon or illegal. With Google’s AI learning from manual appeals, it’s possible that these employees could be the reason this is happening, although Nerd City’s team are unable to know for certain that this is the case, due to the secrecy surrounding the algorithm. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has previously stated that YouTube does not “automatically demonetize LGBTQ content,” telling Alfier Deyes that there are no policies in place that say you can’t put certain words in titles. YouTube is already facing a lawsuit from a group of content creators who claim the site uses “unlawful content regulation” against the LGBTQ community, making similar claims to those found in the video from Nerd City.

  • Nepenthez becomes first big Mixer streamer to return to Twitch – Dexerto

Nepenthez becomes first big Mixer streamer to return to Twitch Nepenthez/Twitch/MixerCraig ‘Nepenthez’ Douglas, one of the biggest streamers on Mixer and a household name within the FIFA community, has become the first big streamer to leave Microsoft’s platform and return to Twitch. In August 2019, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins shook the streaming world by leaving Twitch and switching over to Mixer, but now the reverse is happening as Nep has revealed that he will no longer be streaming on the platform. Douglas first started broadcasting on Mixer in March 2019, a few months before the likes of Ninja and Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek switched over, but has now revealed why his time with them has come to an end. In a statement made on April 30, Nepenthez shared that his time with the platform had expired that day after “an amazing 13 months.” He went on: “I’m sad we couldn’t reach an agreement to extend my term there. I’m super grateful for the support you guys gave me over there, and can’t wait to get right into the next chapter on Twitch for the foreseeable future.” He doesn’t go into specifics as to why the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement, but it seems as though he isn’t too happy to be leaving Mixer. Just so you guys are fully aware and in the loop, My time with @WatchMixer expires today. It’s been an amazing 13 months and I’m sad we couldn’t reach an agreement to extend my term there. I’m super grateful for the support you guys gave me over there, and can’t wait to get — NepentheZ (@NepentheZ) April 30, 2020 Across other platforms and social media, Nepenthez has almost 1 million followers on Twitter and 2.2m on YouTube, so he clearly has the capacity to reel in viewers – so it’ll have to be seen whether he sees more success on Twitch. It’s unlikely we see the likes of Ninja and shroud moving away from Mixer in the near future, especially considering they probably received some pretty hefty contracts to make the switch, and Nep seemed to be happy there based on his sadness that they couldn’t come to an arrangement to elongate his stay. Douglas’ first Twitch stream will be today, May 1, at around 2pm BST, so it will be interesting to see what he says about the move, or if he speaks on it at all.

  • Nerd City calls out Jake Paul for playing dumb during Shane Dawson documentary – Dexerto

Nerd City calls out Jake Paul for playing dumb during Shane Dawson documentary YouTuber Nerd City has created a new video calling out Jake Paul for lying and pretending to be stupid during the Shane Dawson produced docuseries “The Mind of Jake Paul.” In the final episode of the documentary, Dawson referred to a previous video uploaded by Nerd City in which he criticized Jake Paul for what he perceived to be manipulation of his young audience in an attempt to sell his merchandise. Paul was clearly upset by the allegation, stating: “It’s fucking stupid people think that’s manipulative. I don’t see a problem with it at all. A big part of my content is to make someone’s day. To me, that’s what the merchandise is about. For people to say I’m trying to manipulate younger kids, it’s ridiculous.” Now Nerd City has produced a new video, challenging Paul for pretending to not understand social influencing and the power his social media reach has, when he believes the Team 10 owner is an expert in the subject. “Jake, it may benefit you to play the idiot from time to time, which you clearly do,” said Nerd City. “But we’re not fooled by it. How honest you are about your goals depends on who you think is listening. “If your fans are listening, you say your goal is to make their day, but if you’re talking to businesses, your say your goal is to build an audience and monetize it, and since that’s what you do, it’s silly to deny it.” In his video, Nerd City shows clips of Paul speaking at various business conferences about the power of social media, and also found websites owned by Jake Paul that advertise and promote his and Team 10’s ability to sell products. One site even focused on Chinese companies who would like to move into the American market. In one video, which Nerd City took from a channel called ‘Jake Paul Biz’ where the YouTuber makes content for business, Paul told companies: “You need to create content around your products. That’s what makes people buy it.” Paul has yet to respond to Nerd City’s latest video, but we will keep you updated as the story progresses.

  • NELK’s Jesse escaped arrest after breaking into ‘Clout House’ – Dexerto

NELK’s Jesse escaped arrest after breaking into ‘Clout House’ YouTube: FaZe Banks / Instagram: mtvjesseThe NELK Boys have always toed the line between what is and isn’t acceptable on YouTube, but Jesse Sebastiani has now revealed a time he might have gone too far after trying to break into the Clout House. NELK’s videos have become somewhat of a spectacle in 2020, especially considering the fact that you never know whether YouTube are going to delete it or not – something that has nearly pushed the collective off of the platform. Though he and the other NELK members have landed in legal trouble in the past for their content, this run-in with the law was actually entirely separate from his videos – instead, it was a drunken mistake that could have gone horribly wrong. At one point the NELK boys (Jesse, alongside Kyle Forgeard) were living in the Clout House with the likes of FaZe Banks, RiceGum and Alissa Violet. Now, Jesse has revealed that there was a time he returned to the house a little worse for wear and after nobody answered the door due to it being 5am, he forced his way in, making a mess and eating all the food he could find. The only problem was, it wasn’t the Clout House. It was their neighbor. So, as expected, the police were called on him and he was roughed up before being put in the back of the police car, despite his protests that he “lives there.” (Timestamp 8:15 for mobile viewers) Luckily for Jesse, he says that someone was actually ordering food at the time and they came out just in time to see everything unfold – and reveal that he did actually live there, but had just got the wrong house. Clearly Jesse got out of this mess with a little bit of luck, but it could’ve ended up going horribly had he not. On the plus side, he’ll definitely try to avoid making the same mistake again, no matter how “blacked out” he is – because he might not get so lucky next time.

  • NELK prank Tiktokkers Bryce Hall & Tayler Holder with fake police arrest – Dexerto

NELK prank Tiktokkers Bryce Hall & Tayler Holder with fake police arrest Instagram: kyleforgeard / brycehallThe NELK Boys have become infamous for their pranks on friends and the unsuspecting public, as well as their raucous partying ways. But now they’ve combined the two, pranking TikTok stars Bryce Hall and Tayler Holder with fake police arresting them at a party, with the pair literally ending up in handcuffs. This isn’t the first time NELK – led by Canadian duo Jesse Sebastiani and Kyle Forgeard – have played a prank on the stars, after using actors to terrify Hall in a shopping mall back in February 2020. Now, they’ve upped the ante, and employed policemen to appear at the group’s Texas house party after allegations of underage guests drinking alcohol at the party, leading to potential arrests for the stars. The entire ordeal was thoroughly planned out by NELK, who employed people they knew to act as if they were highly intoxicated, with another coming out to report to the group that she – after passing out and throwing up – was actually only 17 years old. Forgeard played up the act a bit, saying that if there are underage girls drinking at the TikTokkers’ party, it’s on their heads and is a “really bad look” and, before long the cops showed up after being mic’d up by NELK’s entourage. While Holder initially tried to resist, telling the police they couldn’t enter without a warrant, Hall, who had been let in on it, let them in, and before long Holder was being told he was going to get arrested and go to jail. (Timestamp 18:55 for mobile viewers) Obviously there was never really any underage drinking or arrests happening, and the police officer revealed that it was a prank in the best way possible, asking Holder two questions, the second being whether he could “renegade” (a song popularized on TikTok with a corresponding dance). Everybody burst out laughing after the reveal, including Holder himself, who added that he will “beat the f**k out of all y’all.” Naturally, the party continued afterward, and everybody seemed pretty unfazed by the events – in fact, it might have improved their party mood even further once all was said and done.
