  • Kick streamer confronted by police for disrupting class in prank gone wrong – Dexerto

Kick streamer confronted by police for disrupting class in prank gone wrong Kick: DerekGrazKick streamer ‘Derekgraz’ got a visit from the police after pulling a prank in the middle of class that sparked a heated argument with one of his classmates. The antics of internet pranksters are a common sight on social media platforms — but sometimes, their practical jokes can get out of hand. For instance, YouTube jokester Tanner Cook was shot in the stomach after pranking the wrong person back in 2023, and another YouTuber ended up getting charged with assault for throwing buckets of poo on train passengers in the hopes of going viral. Now, another prankster has gotten in trouble with the law after pulling a stunt in the middle of class. Kick streamer confronted by police for disrupting classes in “prank” ‘DerekGraz’ is a streamer on Kick who commands an audience of over 26K followers. On January 22, Derek decided to pull a prank during a lecture at Florida International University in Miami. In the middle of class, Derek and a buddy got into an “argument,” which saw the two boys pretend to threaten each other, disrupting the lecture and sparking an argument with another student. “What is wrong with you guys?” a female student asked as the two boys exited the classroom. “You guys are trying to get some clout.” In retaliation, Derek and his buddy slung insults at the student, calling her a “b*tch” and an “ugly hoe.” The two disrupted a few other classes during the course of their livestream — which ended up getting them a visit from the cops. Later that day, Derek was confronted by officers for “disrupting classes” at the University. When Derek asked if it was alright to film in public, the cops told him that “the moment you step inside a building, there’s a specific statute” that renders that idea null and void. “You guys wanna go to jail?” one of the cops asked. “I’d love to take you to jail where you can play with the big boys. You’ll find a boyfriend there.” It doesn’t look like Derek ended up getting any jail time, judging by his social media posts after the confrontation — nor does he appear to be taking the incident very seriously.

  • Kick streamer bloodied after people attack him on stream in Thailand – Dexerto

Kick streamer bloodied after people attack him on stream in Thailand Kick/giritA Kick streamer was left with a bloody face after he was randomly attacked by multiple people during a live broadcast in Thailand. IRL streams are some of the most popular across Twitch, Kick and YouTube with streamers documenting their adventures to exotic new locations and bringing their viewers with them for the ride. Shenanigans are a lot more common in IRL broadcasts due to the unpredictability of those around streamers, with content creators such as Jinny being robbed live during these broadcasts. The most recent instance of a real-life stream turning sour comes in the form of a Thailand trip where Kick streamer ‘Girit’ was walking around a beach in Bangkok and ended up being assaulted. Kick streamer assaulted after filming on Bangkok beach During the broadcast, Girit got into a heated argument with a local who seemed upset that he may have been filmed – something many streamers have experienced during IRL broadcasts. Things escalated from there with Girit yelling “f**k you” at the man before walking away, but this may have just provoked the man further. After turning the camera onto himself and continuing to wander the beach, the streamer was called over by the man yet again. This time, it was clear that the situation had reached a boiling point with Girit getting into the man’s personal space in a head-to-head confrontation. Moments later, the streamer was smacked in the head by someone else, distracting him and letting the original attacker land cheap shot, leaving Girit with a bloody face. Luckily, the streamer was talked out of retaliating so things didn’t explode into an all-out brawl on the beach. Still, the damage had been done and could have been a lot worse and he got off without any major injuries. Girit is hardly the first Kick streamer to be having a tough time in Thailand. Earlier this month, Ice Poseidon was arrested after giving his girlfriend a lap dance on stream and was facing five years in jail.

  • Kick streamer breaks World Record after going 164 hours without sleep – Dexerto

Kick streamer breaks World Record after going 164 hours without sleep GiftedPrimeKick streamer ‘GiftedPrime’ has broken the World Record for the longest stream without sleep after going 164 hours. When it comes to the streaming world, some creators hold some pretty impressive records. Whether it be viewership records peaking as high as millions of concurrent viewers, to subathons lasting months on end, huge milestones have been set. Now, a Kick streamer by the name of ‘GiftedPrime‘ has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest live stream without any sleep. Kick streamer breaks World Record after 164 hours live The record was previously set two years ago by ‘ThisFudginGuy’ — who went 162 hours without sleeping on stream. However, GiftedPrime has now completely demolished the previous record. On September 1, the Kick streamer surpassed 164 hours live without sleeping — close to seven days. Surprisingly, the now-previous record holder ‘ThisFudginGuy’ was even in GiftedPrime’s stream to congratulate him as he smashed the record, where they also gave insight as to why their record wasn’t validated by Guinness. “The reason Guinness didn’t validate my record is because they wanted me to pay for someone to review the 162 hours of footage which I wasn’t doing out of pocket,” they wrote. However, it certainly wasn’t easy for GiftedPrime, who revealed he’s tried for two years to break the record. After convincing himself to give it one more chance after several failed attempts, he finally did it. “Just broke @ThisFudginGuy Twitch no sleep record! 161 hours 37 minutes live streaming continuously without sleeping! All done on the best streaming platform,” Prime wrote on Twitter. He added: “Yes that’s just shy of 7 days without sleep! Can we hit 200 hours?” As it seems, a war between the two streamers may have begun, as the previous record holder teased their return to Twitch to break the record. “Now I got to get back into streaming to beat your record,” they said, adding a sticking-tongue facial expression.

  • Kick streamer accuses platform of view botting: “viewer count doesn’t mean sh*t” – Dexerto

Kick streamer accuses platform of view botting: “viewer count doesn’t mean sh*t” KickYouTuber and streamer CodyRiffs has accused Kick of view botting, claiming the “viewer count doesn’t mean sh*t.” Launched in late 2022, Kick is slowly but surely taking over the live-streaming world. Offering an impressive split when it comes to sub revenue – with creators getting a much larger 95% cut on Kick compared to Twitch’s 50% — it’s no wonder streamers are switching platforms. Nevertheless, as a new platform, Kick has its fair share of problems to still work out. Namely, users have blasted the lack of moderation on the site, allowing the use of racism and inappropriate language. Streamers are now once more hitting out at Kick, accusing the platform of view-botting. Twitch streamer accuses Kick of view botting In a video uploaded on April 7, Twitch streamer and YouTuber CodyRiffs detailed his experience as a content creator trying out Kick for the first time. While the streamer described Kick as a literal “trainwreck” — he also noted how the platform “reeks” of view botting. “I was immediately impressed by the amount of viewers I had right away on my first kick stream,” said Cody. “I was less impressed later on when I found out the viewer count on Kick doesn’t mean sh*t. “The whole site reeks of viewer botting, but it was a nice feeling while it lasted.” The streamer continued: “It’s just a little suspicious when I see people streaming to two to three thousand people, and there are only three people chatting.” Timestamp at 3:43 Other creators have also had similar experiences, with Kick streamer Triggzy, who has 100 followers on the platform, explaining his viewer count randomly jumped higher. “Happened the other night to me. I average about 15-20 on Kick right now, but I had 44 out of nowhere,” the streamer said. Creators have earned “life-changing” amounts of money thus far from streaming Kick. As it stands, the platform is yet to respond to the allegations, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated if they do.

  • Kick streamer apologizes after “joke” about US President Biden gets him in trouble – Dexerto

Kick streamer apologizes after “joke” about US President Biden gets him in trouble Kick: CheesurKick streamer ‘Cheesur’ issued a public apology after he seemingly got a visit from the feds for making a “joke” about US President Biden during a live broadcast. Live streaming is one of the most popular forms of entertainment today — but sometimes, these online broadcasts can go seriously awry. There have been a ton of chaotic moments from live streams that have gone viral over the years. From streamers getting attacked by wild monkeys to catching thieves in the act, there’s no shortage of jaw-dropping incidents that have happened for the entire internet to see in real time. However, one streamer is probably wishing he’d never made a certain remark during one of his broadcasts after he explained why he took a sudden break from the net. Kick streamer gets visit from the feds after ‘joke’ about President Biden goes wrong ‘Cheesur’ is a fairly prominent creator on Kick, where he streams to the tune of about 76K viewers. In January 2024, Cheesur made a comment during a broadcast about United States President Joe Biden, saying he “hates America so much” — and even “doubled down” on an apparent threat to the political leader. “I wanna be the sniper. I wanna be the hero of America,” he said. While the VOD from this broadcast apparently isn’t available on Cheesur’s Kick profile, a clip from the stream is available in a commentary video on YouTube and posts on Twitter/X. Cheesur didn’t stream for about a week, and returned to Kick on January 18 with a vague explanation of where he’d been. While the streamer didn’t exactly say what went down, many viewers are under the impression that he got a visit from the feds thanks to his comments about the President, which he described as a “joke.” “I can’t literally tell y’all what I went through, but I mean… it’s kinda obvious,” he explained. “Just know, I learned, and I’m not gonna make some stupid jokes on stream anymore.” “I apologize for that sh*t I said. Y’all know what happened bro, okay? Some people knocked at the door, there! I’m done talking about it now, okay? And I’m never gonna ever make a joke like that again.” “I hope you use me as an example, and I hope you learn from it, and you don’t do what I do. Because I almost ruined my life over… something I didn’t mean at all.” Although his explanation was rather murky, it’s clear that whatever happened, Cheesur admitted he got “scared” enough to completely disavow his previous comments with a public apology.

  • Kick star Heelmike accused of illegal drug use on stream – Dexerto

Kick star Heelmike accused of illegal drug use on stream Heelmike, one of Kick’s biggest names, has come under fire after taking what appears to be cocaine in during a house party, which was being live-streamed on his channel. Heelmike is no stranger to doing risky stuff on-stream. He was previously suspended from Kick for a day after he broadcast himself receiving oral sex in February, after which he promised that he’d “learned his lesson” about streaming inappropriate content. Heelmike accused of taking cocaine on stream In a recent livestream, Heelmike can be seen standing by a kitchen counter with several other partygoers. One of the guests, who Heelmike is talking to, is clearly holding a pouch of white powder, which he holds up to his nostrils routinely. At one point, Heelmike also appears to snort the substance as well, and when the person recording approaches, Heelmike repeatedly rubs his nostrils. Heelmike then turns to the person recording and promises: “Listen, when this motherf*cker makes that kick, he’s gonna be on my sh*t, and you guys are gonna follow him. 100%. Without a doubt. Now take a shot with me and let’s get lit.” He and the person with the powder then pose for the camera while shouting: “We’re going outside motherf*ckers. We’re getting high.” The stream was quickly condemned by viewers, with several watchers pointing out that Heelmike had done little to curb his risky approach to streaming. One viewer sarcastically commented: “It’s a good thing he tweeted out he learned his lesson after getting a blowjob on stream. He understands the terms of service better now.” It’s unclear if Kick will take any actions against the streamer, but they have previously banned Heelmike temporarily for streaming inappropriate content. However, Heelmike seemed the be onboard with Kick’s less strict approach to content moderation, and tweeted out “Kick is the GOAT because they reach out and tell creators what they did wrong” when he was banned in February. • Kick still interested in signing Pokimane despite recent criticism – Dexerto

Kick still interested in signing Pokimane despite recent criticism Instagram/Pokimane/KickKick CEO Ed Craven has revealed the platform “really wanted” to work with Pokimane and still wants to sign her even though she’s been very critical about the platform. The streaming wars have been heating up between Kick and Twitch with the new site picking up some of the industry’s biggest names in just a few months. So far, Kick has managed to sign mega stars xQc and Amouranth to big deals and is showing no signs of stopping in its quest to overtake Twitch. However, one name that isn’t a fan of Kick is Pokimane. The Moroccan-Canadian notably claimed that she would never sign, even for $100M, because it would “compromise her morals and ethics.” That said, Kick isn’t giving up hope that they can convince her to join their ranks. Kick CEO reveals they “really wanted” to work with Pokimane During an interview with Jake Lucky, the Kick CEO delved into people they wanted to sign, but turned them down. According to Craven, Pokimane was a top contender and they’re actually supporters of her content. “I’ll be honest, we really wanted to work with Pokimane, actually. That was a name we discussed early on, but I don’t think she wants to work with us actually. So, we’ll see,” the Kick CEO revealed. It’s not clear if Kick actually offered Pokimane a contract, but her criticism of Kick has been ramping up, even sparking a debate between her and xQc over her supposed “morals.” Craven, meanwhile, remains open to signing Pokimane despite the flack, commenting Kick will “see if that changes” while further remarking how the team is “big fans” of hers. While it remains unlikely right now that Pokimane signs with Kick, another name could soon be popping up on Kick that is sure to break the internet if they sign on the dotted line. Banned Twitch star Dr Disrespect is reportedly in talks with Kick, asking for just half of xQc’s deal and a cool $50M. We’ll have to see if Pokimane’s loss could end up being the two-time’s gain.

  • Kick signs GMHikaru as latest streamer in shock announcement – Dexerto

Kick signs GMHikaru as latest streamer in shock announcement Twitch: GMHikaruStreaming platform Kick has announced via Twitter that they’ve signed Chess streamer GMHikaru, this move shocking the internet and Twitch viewers across the globe. Kick has been slowly on the rise as a competitor in the streaming industry, challenging Twitch as the go-to website for streamers. With the website already signing streamers such as AdinRoss after his ban from Twitch, it shows no signs of stopping either, with teasers for other big names to hop over to Kick from Twitch. Kick hasn’t been sneaky about their plans to overtake Twitch, even taking a shot at the streaming site for sending Kai a pair of sneakers instead of a contract. Co-owner of the site Trainwrecks has been openly speaking down about the competitor site, stating in a tweet that “when these next 6 signings are announced, twitch and all of its puppet f** faces will be shook”. Kick signs Chess streamer GMHikaru as first of 6 signings Trainwrecks was able to showcase the first of these 6 signings today, as Kick released a shock announcement stating they’ve signed Chess streamer GMHikaru onto the platform. This shock announcement has taken the internet by surprise and definitely caused quite a stir. GMHikaru is no small streamer on the rival platform as well, gathering over 1.8 million followers on Twitch at the time of writing. The details of Hikaru’s signing are yet to be revealed, so no one is certain how long the streamer may stay on Kick, nor how much he was signed for. This is only the first out of the 6 supposed signings that Trainwrecks has planned for Kick, with many more still to come on the horizon. However, it definitely seems that Twitch may have some competition as one of the top streaming sites. There have been plenty of rumors about potential Twitch superstars moving over to Kick, with AdinRoss urging Kai Cenat to swap over, as well as cryptic comments made by Asmongold about a potential swap.

  • Kick star Amouranth says Twitch never ‘recognized’ her as the top female streamer – Dexerto

Kick star Amouranth says Twitch never ‘recognized’ her as the top female streamer Twitch/Kick/AmouranthKaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa is praising Kick for being a lot more open with streamers than Twitch and is accusing the latter of never recognizing her as the top female on the platform. The streamer wars have been heating up for quite some time now with Kick proving to be a nice alternative to the more mainstream Twitch with streamers flocking to it thanks to a better sub-split. Since its debut earlier this year, Kick has signed some of the biggest names in the streaming world including Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to a whopping $100M contract and followed this up by acquiring Amouranth. In a recent interview, Amouranth explained just why the decision to join Kick was so easy and shaded the purple platform in the process for not showing her enough respect for her accomplishments. Amouranth reveals why Kick is a better platform for streamers Speaking with NBC, Amouranth referenced how back in 2022, she surged past Pokimane and Valkyrae to become the most-watched female streamer on any platform, but still didn’t get any praise from Twitch. “I was the top female streamer on Twitch, but they never reached out with any recognition,” the OnlyFans model said. Amouranth has had quite a controversial Twitch career having been banned multiple times, embracing the hot tub meta, and pushing the boundaries on what is and isn’t acceptable on the site. However, for her, it’s Twitch’s lack of communication that pushed her to join Kick, claiming that from the very start, the site has been very communicative with her. “Kick is open from the beginning and communicative. They are open to hearing suggestions. There are decision-makers available for creators to discuss about the platform’s future,” the streamer praised. The platform has also been open about streamers it has yet to sign. For instance, fans have long been demanding that Dr Disrespect join Kick, but in a recent interview, one of the site’s bosses implied that Doc’s $50M contract request was too steep. It’s anyone’s guess who the next big name to compete for a streaming contract will be, but if they value the same things Amouranth does, there’s a good chance that their new home will be on Kick.

  • Kick sign Tfue to bring former Twitch star out of retirement – Dexerto

Kick sign Tfue to bring former Twitch star out of retirement TfueFormer Twitch star Tfue has come out of his brief retirement to stream on Kick. Tfue was one of the biggest creators on Twitch before he retired in June of 2023. He made his retirement public by posting a video to YouTube after two months of absence. Tfue’s content primarily focuses around Fortnite as it gained popularity in 2017. He played professionally for several years and signed under FaZe Clan for a short amount of time. After posting his video to YouTube, Tfue went dark on social media. This was due to his desire to “go live my life” as he explained in his retirement video. Tfue leaves Twitch behind for Kick In an announcement on November 19, Tfue posted yet another video. This time to Twitter/X, which was been his first post on the platform in almost five months. In the video, Tfue returns to his initial setup, now sporting a Kick hat to mark his return to streaming. But this time on a new platform. “What up, f***ers? I’m back,” said Tfue to conclude his video. The video exploded on social media shortly after it was posted. In just a half hour the video had gained over 200,000 views on Twitter/X and close to 1,000 comments. “Huge W,” said fellow streamer SypherPK. “Gotta see you on the OG map before it’s gone.” Tfue’s return was called a ‘W’ by the majority of the comments. Other Fortnite streamers like TimTheTatman, Symfuhny and Clix all came to congratulate Tfue on his return to content creation.

  • Kick signs Destiny under new 7-figure contract with “two big conditions” – Dexerto

Kick signs Destiny under new 7-figure contract with “two big conditions” Kick / Twitch: DestinyThe streaming wars are only continuing to heat up as fledgling Twitch rival Kick has now signed yet another popular content creator. This time Destiny is joining the platform under a non-exclusive, seven-figure contract. Destiny, a popular streamer in the political and entertainment sphere, is the latest to take his efforts to Kick, having announced a non-exclusive 12-month partnership with the budding platform. Not without his fair share of controversy, Destiny has recently been streaming exclusively on YouTube as the result of an indefinite suspension on Twitch. Although the exact reasoning remains unclear, Destiny was allegedly booted from the purple brand due to hateful conduct. Now, Destiny will be streaming across multiple platforms. Similar to both xQc and Amouranth’s recent Kick deals, his is non-exclusive — allowing him to stream on both YouTube and Kick at the same time. “I have signed a 12-month contract with our good friends over at Kick,” Destiny revealed during his June 27 broadcast. However, he immediately touched on “two big conditions” present in his contract. First up, his own personal website will no longer embed his stream directly. “That means [the website] will not point to my stream anymore,” he explained. And secondly, Destiny added that Kick chat “has to be on stream”. Moving forward, viewers discussing any given topic in focus will not be featured directly on the broadcast. Instead, fans engaging through the chat on Kick will appear. Though Destiny has said these “conditions” do come with a “saving grace” — his non-exclusive clause. “The saving grace [is] this is not a single-stream contract. I will be able to stream the entirety of my Kick contract on YouTube. I’m always going to have a secondary stream on YouTube.” Clarifying further details about his partnership, Destiny revealed the contract runs for 12 months. Though it appears he can opt-out or “kill” the deal at any point. As for the dollar amount, unlike xQc’s landmark contract with the platform, an exact number wasn’t made public in this case. However, Destiny teased a ballpark figure. “It’s not eight figures and it’s not nine figures, but I wouldn’t do a deal like this for six figures, I’ll say that much.”

  • Kick sees over a million new users in just 24 hours after xQc deal – Dexerto

Kick sees over a million new users in just 24 hours after xQc deal KickxQc being signed to Kick has certainly made a splash on the livestreaming platform, with over a million new users signing up in less than a day after his first stream. Kick signing xQc into a non-exclusive contract has made waves across the internet. With xQc being near the top of Twitch at the time of his signing, it’s no surprise that fans of the streamer have flocked to Twitch’s rival livestreaming platform. However, his arrival was a meteoric one. In fact, there’s been so much traffic on the site that it’s been having issues staying up, which led to Kick promising upgrades to their servers shortly. Additionally, Kick got over a million new users to sign up for the site in the hours following xQc’s arrival according to Paulie, Kick’s head of product. Kick gets over a million new users signups after xQc signing If Kick were to net over a million new people bringing traffic to their site after xQc’s first stream, it’d be an impressive number on its own. However, Kick got over a million signups in 24 hours, meaning that people went out of their way to create an account and possibly sub to their favorite streamer. It’d be no stretch to say those who create an account with Kick are much more likely to return to the site and bring more traffic in the future. It’s no surprise, then, that Kick had such high traffic that the site was struggling to keep titsservices up and running. According to Kick, they’re experiencing “exponential growth” and are upgrading their services to handle the load. With xQc regularly holding a viewer count close to — and at times — over 70K viewers, him pulling the same titanic viewership he had on Twitch was something Kick couldn’t handle at the time he went live. Though it remains to be seen if Kick’s gamble on xQc will result in long-term success for the emerging livestreaming platform, it’s clear that their investment has had a massive impact in the short term.

  • Kick sign rapper Tyga in unexpected shock deal – Dexerto

Kick sign rapper Tyga in unexpected shock deal Youtube: Bobbi Althoff / Twitter: KickStreamingKick signed rapper Tyga, famous for hit songs like “Taste” and “Swish,” in deal as the streaming brand adds more popular personalities to their platform. Stake-backed platform Kick was formed as a direct competitor to mega-streaming platform Twitch, which many predicted to have the same fate as now-collapsed Microsoft’s “Mixer,” which featured stars like Ninja. However, Kick has continued to rise in popularity as they signed former Twitch personalities from multiple different gaming genres – like xQc, Dafran, and most recently a non-exclusive deal with Nickmercs that people were not expecting. In another major signing, Kick has now signed influential rapper Tyga to their platform as they continue to grow. Tyga makes shock move in joining Kick Tyga has been a staple in the American Rap scene since his hit record “Rack City” in 2012, maintaining his record of producing wildly popular club tracks with the release of “Taste” in 2018 which featured Offset – who has also become involved in streaming as he joined Kai in a viral Twitch stream. Tyga made waves across social media after he joined Bobbi Althoff on her podcast, which became a source of controversy after she deleted her podcast with Drake amid rumors of the two falling out, and now the Californian-born rapper has moved onto another social media trend – streaming, signing with Kick. Fans of Tyga and the streaming platform are unsure of what to expect from the partnership, with mixed reactions – “This is so random but I love it” one person commented – but if any spectacular moments come from Tyga on Kick, Dexerto will be sure to cover it on our Entertainment page.

  • Kick & Rumble leaders support NICKMERCS following CoD skin removal for Pride comment – Dexerto

Kick & Rumble leaders support NICKMERCS following CoD skin removal for Pride comment Twitch/NICKMERCSLeaders from upcoming streaming platforms Kick and Rumble have voiced their support for NICKMERCS following comments he made about Pride events in school, resulting in Call of Duty removing his skin bundle from the game. The NICKMERCS CoD controversy has become a huge deal in the game’s community ever since the FaZe star claimed that ‘kids should be left alone’ in reference to Pride events at school. The backlash resulted in Call of Duty pulling his skin from the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 shops, but many have voiced support for NICKMERCS – including Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman, the latter of which asked for his own skin to be pulled in solidarity. As it turns out, big names from Twitch’s streaming opposition Kick and Rumble also feel strongly about the FaZe streamer and used their platforms to stand with NICKMERCS and against CoD. Trainwreck supports NICKMERCS after Pride comment sparks backlash After TimTheTatman requested CoD remove his skin, Kick co-founder Trainwreck chimed in, applauding the YouTuber and standing with NICKMERCS. “W. F**k cancel culture,” he slammed. “If the part of the internet that’s going after mercs were the ‘good guys,’ they’d teach and be patient even if their teachings are being questioned. The vocal minority who pretend that they are fighting for equality are just virtue signaling for clout.” The Kick streamer continued to say that the individuals who called for the skin to be removed were just making matters worse. “What they are doing here, with this situation, only sends people further down the rabbit hole and divides by putting people into an angry state, void of logic and understanding,” he added. “Political leaders and viewers coming after him know this and use these movements for their own gain, power, and advertisement.” Trainwreck and Kick weren’t the only ones to side with NICKMERCS. Rumble and its CEO Chris Pavlovski also spoke up directly against “cancel culture.” “As the CEO of Rumble, I firmly stand behind Nick and strongly against cancel culture,” Pavlovski beamed. We’ll have to see how this latest debacle unfolds and if Call of Duty ends up adding the skin back, but at the moment, it seems like both sides are in a stalemate as NICKMERCS continues to stand by his remark and refuses to apologize. He has since actually even gained followers since the controversy.

  • Kick & Rumble swoop in after Alinity cops Twitch ban for twerking – Dexerto

Kick & Rumble swoop in after Alinity cops Twitch ban for twerking Twitter/AlinityMultiple streaming platforms have reached out to Alinity to join them after the Twitch star was banned for twerking. The streaming wars have been heating up for a while now with Twitch facing growing competition from rivals such as Kick, YouTube, and most recently, Rumble. On May 30, Natalia ‘Alinity’ Mogollon was suspended by Twitch for 3 days due to twerking on stream, resulting in her putting the site on blast while remarking she was thinking of “taking business somewhere else.” Like clockwork, numerous other platforms made their own pitches to the Colombian-Canadian trying to convince her to make the jump from Twitch and join them. Alinity bombarded with streaming offers after Twitch ban Rumble was one of the first to comment with an offer for Alinity, referencing how many of the biggest names in the streaming world had joined their platform in some capacity. “Join Kai, Speed, Mizkif, JiDion, and Akademiks over at Rumble,” the official account replied. Alinity, being a savvy businesswoman, inquired about how much they would be willing to pay her, but Rumble didn’t follow up with an amount, at least publicly. It’s definitely possible that the two sides are in negotiations. Rumble has been making some big moves recently. The “free speech” platform signed Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed to host an exclusive show that ended up breaking records with its first episode. They weren’t the only ones to reach out to Alinity. Slushy, an adult site similar to OnlyFans that has worked with Amouranth in the past also made a pitch to Mogollon. You’re always welcome to stream on SLUSHY without the risks of getting banned! — SLUSHY (@SLUSHYdotcom) May 30, 2023 “You’re always welcome to stream on Slushy without the risks of getting banned!” they said. Shortly after Alinity called out Twitch for banning her, chess streaming sensation Alexandra Botez was quick to call on Kick to “make it right” resulting in the competitor taking notice. While Kick did respond directly to Alinity, they didn’t have much to say, instead just commenting with an “eyes” emoji. Like with Rumble, it’s not known if they reached out privately to her in hopes of another exclusive signing. In any case, we’ll have to see what Alinity decides to do. For more on Kick, be sure to check out Dexerto’s exclusive interview with Kick exec Akhil Sarin.

  • Kick replaces Stake on Alfa Romeo F1 car with subtle Twitch swipe – Dexerto

Kick replaces Stake on Alfa Romeo F1 car with subtle Twitch swipe Screenshot via YouTube: Formula 1Kick’s logos will be returning to the Alfa Romeo cars for Formula 1’s Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, though this time around, they’ll also be flaunting their 95/5 sub split. Over the last few months, Kick has positioned itself as a legitimate alternative for streamers who want to move away from Twitch. They’ve already signed a few big names, including xQc, BruceDropEmOff, and Adin Ross – even though xQc splits his time between the two. The Stake-backed platform has also made waves in the real world too, not just on the internet, as it’s become one of the partners of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team. Stake is the typical sponsor for the team and has its logo displayed all over the car. Though, that changed in Australia – albeit temporarily – when Kick took its place. Now, the streaming platform is back on the car. Kick replaces Stake on Alfa Romeo F1 cars for Belgian GP That’s right, as the F1 world shifts attention to the Belgian Grand Prix at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Kick will once again be on the side of the Alfa Romeo cars. However, this time, things will be a little different. Instead of just having the Kick logo on there, there is also a reference to 95-5 – which is the revenue split for streamers and has been a big selling point of the platform compared to Twitch. That didn’t go unnoticed either. “They actually put the 95-5 revenue split on the car, that’s actually jokes!” said one eagle-eyed fan. “Twitch would never,” said another. “Green looks so much better than Purple would,” added another. Just like with the switch in Australia, this isn’t a permanent rebrand and has been done because of Belgian laws around gambling, so they can’t use Stake as they normally would. Other cars have to change up their sponsors as well – even those that are regulated casinos and such. Though, it remains pretty cool for the streaming world to see and it’s unlikely to be the last time we see the Kick logo on the car this season.

  • Kick reportedly blocked in Greece for “providing unauthorized gambling services” – Dexerto

Kick reportedly blocked in Greece for “providing unauthorized gambling services” KickFledgling Twitch rival Kick has reportedly been blocked in Greece by select ISPs for “providing unauthorized gambling services” to local users. Update June 21: A Kick spokesperson reached out to Dexerto shortly after this news circulated. They provided the following statement: “We are experiencing a temporary problem with access to the platform in Greece and we are working with Greek ISPs to resolve the issue. An individual channel appears to have been blocked by a specific ISP resulting in the whole domain mistakingly being blocked.” The original story continues below. Despite being owned and founded by Stake, a gambling site, and freely allowing livestreams of gambling on the platform, Kick is not inherently a gambling website, nor does it directly provide gambling services. However, the new Twitch rival, one that recently gave xQc the biggest contract in streaming history, is reportedly banned in Greece due to “providing unauthorized gambling services.” The site has been added by the Hellenic Gaming Commission, specifically to their blacklist of unauthorized gambling sites. In a video by n3lswn, they showed a video of a Greek user attempting to access Kick’s main page before being redirected to the Hellenic Gaming Commission, where the site informed the user they were trying to access a website on their blacklist. In addition to the video, a recent post made on the xQc subreddit also pointed out that Kick is indeed banned in Greece, and could only be accessed by using a VPN. With the OP saying they are based in Athens. According to the Hellenic Gaming Commission’s newly updated blacklist posted on June 20, Kick.com is listed as one of the blocked websites. In particular, they list Kick’s recently removed section, “slots gang”. However, through our own testing, upon attempting to access Kick using a VPN for a Greek IP address, the platform is still accessible. This suggests the ban comes from Greek ISPs specifically, restricting it in accordance with the blacklist, rather than a regional IP ban. Stake, Kick’s parent company, is also part of the blacklist. With their domain, stake.games, similarly being blocked in Greece at this point in time. Greece, and by extension the EU, has some of the strictest restrictions to online gambling today, with only a select few sites and countries allowed to operate legally as long as they are EU-compliant.

  • Kick removes “unnecessary” exposure to gambling streams in new update – Dexerto

Kick removes “unnecessary” exposure to gambling streams in new update Kick/Unsplash: @joshuakettleKick boss Eddie Craven has revealed that the streaming site is getting a new update that will remove “unnecessary” exposure to gambling streams. At the beginning of 2022, many of the internet’s biggest creators spoke out against gambling on Twitch, prompting the platform to issue a ban on gambling streams. Trainwreck unveiled rival site platform Kick towards the end of the year, which is co-owned and operated by popular crypto gambling platform Stake. Their involvement with the budding site has prompted creators like Pokimane to speak up about how prevalent gambling is on Kick. On June 30, 2023, Stake and Kick boss Eddie Craven revealed that they’re pushing a new update to the platform that removes unnecessary exposure to gambling streams. Kick removes exposure to gambling, fixes view count In a rather detailed post on his Twitter page, Craven revealed changes to how the site will handle tabbed streams, as well as the new update to gambling streams being shown on the platform. “We’re rolling out some extra view count protection on Kick. This should help combat view count manipulation. It will also help solve some issues surrounding follow/chatbots,” he said. “Rest assured, the community is still growing and we’re staying committed to ensuring we maintain a fair landscape for creators. The main problem being solved here is in relation to ‘Tabbing’ and the abuse that came with that. Some further protections have also been included.” This means that streamers can no longer open their stream on multiple browser tabs to artificially inflate their views. Instead, viewers will have to maintain a level of activity in each channel for tabs to count as a view. In the second part of his tweet, Eddie revealed that Kick will be removing “unnecessary” exposure to gambling-related content through their recommended formulas like the front page. He revealed that they will also be adding an option to disable gambling streams from view entirely. “Alongside this update, we’ve also removed some unnecessary exposure to gambling-related content throughout our recommended formulas,” Eddie said. “We’ll also be adding the ability to toggle off all gambling-related streams, amongst other certain categories viewers wish to not be exposed to. Viewer experience is equally as important to us as creators.” This is a major step for those against the gambling aspect of the platform, giving people the ability to browse Kick without having to see that side of the site. • Kick replaces Stake as car sponsor for F1 team Alfa Romeo – Dexerto

Kick replaces Stake as car sponsor for F1 team Alfa Romeo Screenshot via YouTube: Formula 1Kick, the rival streaming platform to Twitch, has made yet another big splash as it has now replaced Stake as the main sponsor on the Alfa Romeo Formula 1 cars for the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. There have been a few challenges to Twitch’s spot at the top of the streaming mountain, but the Amazon-owned platform has seen pretty much all of them off. They are having to fight a new battle, though, as the Stake-backed Kick platform has started offering streamers non-exclusive deals to stream on both platforms – with Kick offering them a greater split on subscriber revenue compared to Twitch’s 50/50 offering. With those signings, and more rumored to come, the Stake-backed platform has made inroads to challenge Twitch’s dominance, but they’re also now actually getting some love on the roads. Well, the roads of the Formula 1 circuits with Alfa Romeo Sauber. Kick appears as Alfa Romeo F1 sponsor in place of Stake Kick had previously been announced as a partner with the Italian racing team, but the logo did not appear on the car during the first two races of the 2023 season – Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. However, during the first practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix, fans couldn’t help but notice that the upstart streaming platform now has pride of place on the car’s rear wing, side pods, and nose. “Since when are Kick sponsorships all over the Alfa Romeo?” one asked. “Kick ain’t messing about, they’re sponsoring Alfa Romeo in F1 now,” another added. “Just saw they’re (Kick) a partner of Alfa Romeo. Kick going places,” another commented. The team has even changed its name from Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake to Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK, which means the streaming platform is currently the title sponsor of the team. They’ve already referred to this change on their website in the practice debriefs. While Stake is an Australian company, the change is likely to have been made due to certain restrictions in Victoria – the state in which Melbourne is based – around gambling advertisements. The advertisements are not banned outright, but there are catches, that F1 would fall under for things such as online simulcasts. Alfa has also started streaming on Kick as well, with their drivers – Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu – talking to fans around the Australian GP. Don’t expect to see any full-length races being streamed on there anytime soon though.

  • Kick owner responds to viewbot accusations after being called out by streamer – Dexerto

Kick owner responds to viewbot accusations after being called out by streamer KickKick and Stake owner Eddie Craven has responded to accusations that the streaming platform viewbots its own creators, after one streamer called them out and made the accusation. In recent months, Kick has launched and the conversation around it has been non-stop, debating whether it can truly compete with giants like Twitch and YouTube when it comes to livestreaming. While there is a lot of support from creators, due largely to the increased subscriber revenue split in comparison to Twitch, with Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins saying it has more promise than Mixer, there has been some controversy surrounding the platform. With discussions around the site’s moderation, as well as creators having their names taken and handed to bigger creators, one accusation levied against Kick has been inflating its viewership figures with viewbots. One particular tweet went viral regarding the situation, saying that “viewer count doesn’t mean sh*t” as they went live to 40 viewers and nobody talking in chat. Not long after, Eddie Craven explained why this could be the case, providing some transparency on the situation. “Kick, according to well-respected sites such as similarweb, had over 58m visitors in March alone, compared to ‘only’ 3m registered accounts,” he explained. “Majority of our traffic is still unauthenticated and are yet to create accounts. It’s a new platform and people are slowly signing up every day … “Subsequently, such as in your case, when you find yourself on the homepage for the music section you’ll naturally attract clicks.” I appreciate the constructive feedback in the video. We’re working on all points you addressed already 🙂 — Eddie (@StakeEddie) April 9, 2023 Kick, according to well respected sites such as similarweb, had over 58m visitors in March alone. Compared to “only” 3m registered accounts. Majority of our traffic is still… This would explain why some streamers’ chats aren’t as active as one might expect on Kick, as there are still a significant number of users visiting the website and checking streams out, despite not having an account and therefore being unable to use the chat function. Of course, nothing can be guaranteed, and this isn’t the only instance in which some believe Kick’s numbers are inflated. While being cautiously optimistic about the platform, Ninja also said that Kick streamers are in for a “reality check” as a lot of subscriptions right now are gifted, and at some point that will plateau. Only time will tell how things go for the platform but for now, many creators are loving it, and there may well be a shift away from Twitch if they can keep the momentum up.

  • Kick promises guideline changes amid Ice Poseidon controversy – Dexerto

Kick promises guideline changes amid Ice Poseidon controversy Unsplash.com: Jametlene Reskp / KICKA livestream from Ice Poseidon that resulted in the streamer being swatted caused a great deal of backlash from the Kick community and beyond. It has gotten to the point where the platform has promised changes to its community guidelines and the way they’re enforced. Though Kick has its fair share of popular streamers and has seen huge growth since it was created, the livestreaming platform has also had more than its fair share of controversial livestream moments. The restrictions on Kick are a bit looser than those on a competitor like Twitch, allowing for more variety in the content on the platform but also more chaos. A recent Ice Poseidon stream raised some eyebrows amongst even those who don’t frequent Kick, leading to the platform promising changes to their community guidelines. Kick promises new guidelines and tighter enforcement Kick streamers have certainly been in the news recently, but not always for the best reasons. Between Johnny Somali getting arrested in Japan and Adin Ross putting on a fake Kim Jong Un interview, the platform’s creators have a particular penchant for creating controversy. Ice Poseidon is one such streamer, and he’s been in the news more than once this year. He was arrested in Thailand over a lap dance but has since been freed and had the charges against him lifted. However, he’s now been thrust back into the news after a livestream incident involving an escort being paid $500 caused a great deal of discourse on the platform. According to Ice Poseidon, he wasn’t arrested over the incident like was believed for a time and was instead swatted. Regardless, the concept of livestreaming an escort, whether she was aware of herself being filmed or otherwise, has still sent Kick a lot of heat for allowing that content to be on the platform. So, Kick responded. “There’s incredible untapped potential in what live streaming has to offer. We’re firm believers that the greatest days of live streaming are yet to come. With that said, community & public safety cannot be compromised in the process of making ‘content’.” Their response continued, “We’re continuously learning where this balance sits and are making changes daily. We appreciate our community for the continuous feedback, both the good & the bad. We’ll keep you updated on upcoming changes to community guidelines and subsequent enforcement measures.” The community wasn’t very happy with the response, saying it felt like Kick had said “nothing” about the situation. And, though they’ve promised “upcoming changes”, there aren’t any details as to what those changes will be or when they’ll be coming to the platform. I’m just going to drop this here. Yes that’s Eddie the CEO of Kick laughing in chat. Suspendas and Johnny Somali also has a Kick or Stake contract. 🤷 pic.twitter.com/Tj6NapDcey — Degen_News (@TzGnis) September 24, 2023 Additionally, some users have called out Kick’s CEO for being in the chat while it was happening. We’ll keep you updated as to what changes Kick decides to make to their community guidelines.

  • Kick offers Twitch CEO partner after being denied by his own platform – Dexerto

Kick offers Twitch CEO partner after being denied by his own platform Kick has offered to partner Twitch’s CEO Dan Clancy after his own channel was denied partner by the Amazon-owned platform. Since the start of 2023, Kick has exploded in popularity within the streaming world, quickly becoming one of the top competitors in the space. While the live-streaming platform has come under its fair of criticism and controversies, Kick has still signed some of the world’s biggest streamers. Among those include the likes of xQc, who signed a $70 million deal with the platform in June. More recently, the Stake-backed streaming site has signed Twitch star NICKMERCS as well as rapper Tyga to their platform as they continue to grow. Now, they’re even offering to partner Twitch’s CEO, as well. Twitch CEO offered partner on Kick On October 21, Twitch’s CEO Dan Clancy shared on his Twitter/X account that his application to join his own platform’s partnership program had been denied. “For anyone that got denied being a partner from Twitch, don’t feel so bad. Just got my Partner application denied. Did not tell anyone I was applying,” he wrote. Now, poking a bit of fun, rival platform Kick has offered to partner with the Twitch CEO. “Yea thats rough man,” they quote retweeted, adding: “u want partner on Kick?” Clancy has yet to publicly acknowledge Kick’s offer. However, as revealed by the Twitch CEO at TwitchCon Vegas, creators are no longer held down to just streaming on the Amazon-owned platform. Now, Twitch’s guidelines have now been officially updated to allow streamers to broadcast across multiple platforms, which was previously prohibited. With that said, we could possibly see the Twitch CEO boot up a Kick stream in the future.

  • Kick owner claims Adin Ross “Kim Jong Un” stream got so many views it broke the site – Dexerto

Kick owner claims Adin Ross “Kim Jong Un” stream got so many views it broke the site Kick: Adin Ross/Wikimedia Commons: Alexei NikolskyTop Kick streamer Adin Ross managed to break the streaming website during his stream with a Kim Jong Un impersonator after he got over 700,000 viewers, according to one of the site’s owners. Eddie Craven, one of the co-owners of Kick, discussed the Adin Ross stream on one of his own broadcasts, where he elaborated on the actual view figures for the event. He also said that there were so many viewers that the site crashed at one point, peaking at over 700 thousand. The stream further cemented Adin Ross as one of the biggest streamers on Kick and the internet in general, even though the person who joined the call wasn’t actually Kim Jong Un. Adin Ross stream with Kim Jong Un impersonator reportedly breaks 700k views During a recent stream, Eddie was asked if he watched Adin’s stream with the impersonator, and he replied with some insight on what was happening behind the scenes at Kick during the event. He said: “I think the view count was actually broken on that. Everyone thinks that the stream went up to 450,000 viewers, it actually got up to 700,000 viewers, but the website crashed. “Like the whole thing crashed. It went 700,000, and then the whole thing crashed, and it went down to 200,000 a few minutes after.” Adin Ross is no stranger to doing weird events on stream. The “Kim Jong Un” stream came just weeks after he constructed a fake prison in a warehouse with Sneako to prove to the Tate brothers that he could last in jail. • Kick now sponsoring Premier League team after huge F1 deal – Dexerto

Kick now sponsoring Premier League team after huge F1 deal Twitter: EvertonKick is now sponsoring a Premier League club to go along with their irregular deal with F1’s Alfa Romeo. However, if you blink, you might just miss it. Over the last few months, Kick has continued to make waves in the livestreaming scene. They’ve thrown a tonne of money at top-name streamers like xQc, Hikaru, and others – allowing them to still stream on Twitch too. It’s also started to become a recognizable brand outside of the livestreaming space too as it’s moved into sports. The Stake-backed platform has sponsored the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team in races where its main gambling sponsor – Stake – isn’t allowed to be shown off. That’s happened twice already this season – once in Australia and most recently in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa – but you’ll be seeing a lot more of Kick elsewhere. The streaming platform is now sponsoring a Premier League club. Kick now sponsors Everton in Premier League That’s right, Kick has now added another sponsorship deal to it’s growing collection, as they’ve inked a deal with Premier League mainstays Everton. The Toffees already have Stake as their main club partner, with the online gambling site being their front-of-kit sponsor until at least the 2024-25 season. Now, they’ll wear the Kick branding on their arm, with the streaming platform becoming their newest sleeve sponsor. This won’t be as prominent as Stake, but it’ll get plenty of airtime throughout the season. As of now, the deal with Kick is only set to last one year, and Everton are the only Stake-sponsored club in the Premier League. Stake also sponsors the UFC and the aforementioned Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team, but their reported deal with Chelsea fell through after backlash from fans. They previously sponsored Watford in the Premier League too, but the Hornets and Stake ended their partnership recently.

  • Kick offers to pay fees for Twitch streamers who break contract to jump ship – Dexerto

Kick offers to pay fees for Twitch streamers who break contract to jump ship Kick/TwitchStreaming platform Kick has stated that they will cover the newly announced termination fee that Twitch Affiliates must pay when canceling their contract, so long as the content creator then jumps ship and joins Kick. Twitch recently updated its Affiliate agreement terms and conditions to state that those who terminate their contract will have to pay a fee of $25 to do so. “If you or we terminate this Agreement, a maintenance fee will be deducted from your remaining balance. The maintenance fee will be the lesser of the accrued Program Fees for your Twitch channel or $25.” Twitch users, as well as those who simply watch streamers on the outlet, have begun voicing their frustration at this change. This new change from Twitch is largely viewed as another example of how they are not supporting their content creators. Kick to cover the termination fee for Twitch streamers if they jump ship In light of this, rival streaming platform Kick was quick to respond to the news. Posting on Twitter that they “will cover the $25 fee for anyone willing to break their contract and move to Kick.” Many Twitch streamers have since filled the comments of this post from Kick, stating that if it is true, they will happily move over. Time will tell if any major streamers do jump ship. As it’s worth keeping in mind, the Affiliate tier is below Partner, meaning the platform’s biggest stars are obviously beyond this agreement. • Kick mocks Twitch for banning Amouranth and BruceDropEmOff – Dexerto

Kick mocks Twitch for banning Amouranth and BruceDropEmOff Twitch/BruceDropEmOff/AmouranthKick is taking aim at Twitch after the rival streaming service banned two of its biggest names in the form of Amouranth and BruceDropEmOff. The rivalry between Twitch and upstart Kick took another twist following the Amazon-owned platform’s most recent bans and Kick is using the suspensions to their advantage. Earlier in May, Twitch banned BruceDropEmOff for the third time in 2023 and followed this up with a one-day ban on popular hot tub streamer Amouranth. The bans come as Kick continues to try recruiting the world’s biggest streaming stars, and the service wasted no time in using this latest batch of bans to push for more content creators to jump ship. Kick thanks Twitch after banning Amouranth and BruceDropEmOff In a tweet on May 5, Kick posted clips of both Amouranth and Bruce discussing streaming and their choice of platforms. The first includes a video of an interview with Amouranth saying: “I would give [Kick] a try for a certain amount of money, but I don’t think I would really go exclusive on there just because their reputation is really risky.” The video then transitions to Bruce telling Kai Cenat he was “on Twitch for life,” claiming the platform “treats us f**king amazing.” After both segments, Kick included screenshots showing their Twitch accounts banned and used this as an opportunity to hit out at Twitch in the process. “They’re doing our job for us,” Kick captioned the video, seemingly thanking Twitch for the free promotion. Although neither Amouranth nor Bruce has joined Kick yet, the latter did tell fans they “know what’s next” for Bruce after his latest ban, suggesting that a switch could be imminent. We’ll have to wait and see if either streamer ends up moving platforms and what other big names Kick has recruited since first teasing some massive signings from stars on rival sites.

  • Kick now lets users blacklist Hot Tub and Gambling streams from recommended – Dexerto

Kick now lets users blacklist Hot Tub and Gambling streams from recommended KickA new Kick update now lets users remove hot tub and gambling streams from being recommended on the site. Since the beginning of 2023, Kick has been on the rise within the streaming community, going as far as to rival industry-titan Twitch. So far, the new platform has presented several features to entice streamers as well as viewers to make the jump to the site. Signing top talent such as Adin Ross and xQc, as well as offering perks such as a superior subscription revenue split at 95% compared to Twitch’s 50%, it’s no wonder Kick is seeing massive growth — amassing over 10 million registered accounts in its first seven months. It’s certainly clear that the platform has the best interests of the community in mind, recently improving its bot protection and implementing a new update that will remove “unnecessary” exposure to gambling streams. On top of that, former Twitch streamer and platform co-founder Trainwrecks has announced that Kick will now offer users the option to completely remove all content that contains bikinis, pools, hot tubs, slots, and casino content. Kick introduces option to remove Hot Tub and Gambling streams In a July 3 tweet, Trainwrecks announced that the latest update will give all users the option to completely remove content that could be considered controversial across the entire site. Among those include content that may contain bikinis, hot tubs, pools as well as slots and casino content. “The user option to completely opt out of seeing bikinis, pools, hot tubs, slots, & casino content on the ENTIRETY of KICK, is out now,” he wrote. It’s fair to say that the update has been well received, with many praising the platform for listening and prioritizing the community above all. “Might be time to full send it on the green app. You guys listen to your creators,” said one. “Improvements To Better The User Experience! The fact it’s always the creators and the viewers before the company feels so huge! Thank you,” another added. It’s clear that Kick doesn’t expect to slow down anytime soon. According to the platform, they’re experiencing “exponential growth” and have already upgraded their services to handle an expected increase in users in the coming months.

Kick ‘likes’ tweet criticizing Adin Ross’ “transphobic rant” on their platform KickUsers have discovered that Kick’s Twitter page liked a tweet criticizing Adin Ross’ recent “transphobic rant” that happened during his stream on the platform. Over the last few months, live streaming platform Kick has seen a significant boost in popularity thanks to the big-name Twitch streamers that made the switch. One of those big streamers is Adin Ross, who’s become the face of the platform while streaming sexual content and sparking backlash due to his comments about non-binary pronouns. Shortly after the clip of his comments about pronouns went viral, a Twitter user used their platform to criticize him — and fans discovered that Kick liked the tweet. Kick ‘likes’ tweet criticizing Adin Ross The tweet, posted by Twitch streamer mittenskittens, calls out Adin Ross for his “transphobic rant,” tagging Kick in the process. Users quickly discovered it by looking at Kick’s list of liked tweets, with one user posting a screenshot that’s been viewed over 40,000 times. “Kick’s official Twitter account just liked this tweet,” he captioned the post. The tweet quickly gained traction, with many users commenting “W” in the replies, assuming that Kick agrees with Adin being in the wrong. • Kick makes changes to hot tub and bikini content after streamer concerns – Dexerto

Kick makes changes to hot tub and bikini content after streamer concerns Kick/jenfoxxxStreaming platform Kick has announced a series of changes to its pools, hot tub, and bikinis content after concerns were raised about moderation. Kick has emerged as a true competitor to rival Twitch. In addition to signing some of the biggest stars in the industry such as Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel and giving banned streamers a new home, Kick also is much more lenient with the content allowed on the platform. However, despite this laissez-faire approach, there has been some backlash to how certain types of content is being moderated differently than others. One month after OnlyFans star TheDanDangler ended her contract early, alleging that Kick was being “sexist” towards her streams, the platform has now made some modifications to its approach to moderating. Kick adjusts moderation after hot tub stream backlash In a post on X/Twitter on November 8, Kick announced that it had sat down with leading pools, hot tubs and bikini streamers to adopt a series of new changes to the category. First, for offenses that go against Kick’s rules, the site will send links to 2nd and 3rd chance course corrections, adding that streamers should know what content is causing issues on the platform. Additionally, mass reports will start being flagged in an effort to remove those who abuse the report function from the site. Finally, Kick states that creators will be held “to the same warning systems and enforcement levels.” This last part was a big contributing factor to TheDanDangler’s departure as she claimed that male streamers would get away with more than their female counterparts. Kick co-founder Eddie Craven remarked on these updates, explaining that different types of content require a different approach when it comes to moderation. • Kick instantly fires social media manager for “incest” Island Boys post – Dexerto

Kick instantly fires social media manager for “incest” Island Boys post Kick / Island BoysKick’s social media manager has been terminated with “immediate effect” following an Island Boys post to their official social media account. Rising streaming platform Kick has continued to grow as a true competitor to both Twitch and YouTube, even though it only released in October, 2022. Despite its dramatic rise, which has seen leading streamers switch to the live platform, including xQc who signed his groundbreaking $100 million Kick deal, it has had its fair share of controversies. Now, Kick has revealed they have fired their social media manager after they posted an Island Boys image of the two twin brothers kissing each other, which was soon deleted. Kick terminates social media manager Island Boys photo The post made to Kick’s official Twitter/X account showed a photo of the brothers kissing one another, featuring the streaming platform’s typical black and white colored imagery and green square graphic overlayed. It was then shortly deleted by the account, where they officially stated: “We apologize for the conduct displayed in our previous post featuring the Island Boys. Our social media manager has been terminated effective immediately.” Hours later, Kick posted “they never changed the password,” suggesting that the social media manager in question had not actually left the company. However, with the Island Boys post being deleted, and the original response statement not being removed at the time of writing, it has not been confirmed if it is still being managed by the same person. The two viral sensations of Flyysouljah and Kodiyakredd catapulted themselves to internet stardom after a series of viral social media content. Since then, they have started OnlyFans accounts and shared content of them making out with each other, and according to Flyysouljah, their mom “doesn’t care.”

  • Kick is “burning money” paying for Twitch’s streaming service from Amazon – Dexerto

Kick is “burning money” paying for Twitch’s streaming service from Amazon Unplash: @djravine/KickNew streaming platform Kick has positioned itself as a direct rival to Twitch, tempting streamers to leave and join them. But a former Amazon engineer argues that Kick is in fact “subsidizing” Twitch by paying Amazon for their streaming service. Kick was launched in coordination with gambling platform Stake and popular Twitch streamer Trainwreck. Although the ownership structure isn’t totally clear, what is clear is that Kick is presenting itself as a better option than Twitch. Kick regularly tweets about their superior sub revenue split, offering 95% to streamers, vs Twitch’s 50%. This has raised some eyebrows about the site’s sustainability, considering the costs required to run the platform. However, some of these costs are actually directly paid to Amazon – Twitch’s owner. Ex-Twitch engineer explains Kick’s Amazon setup Cyrus Hall worked at Twitch and Amazon for a decade as part of the team that worked on the integration of the platform’s streaming service with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020. On Twitter, he explained that Kick is “subsidizing Twitch by paying to use the Twitch video system via AWS” – and that this comes at a significant cost. “I too think IVS is the best video system for this use case, but paying ~8-10x cost is not a sustainable growth plan,” Hall said. Hall speculates that Kick’s current system will be “burning money,” with the eventual goal of switching to their own CDN (content delivery network) when the time is right. This of course raises the question again around the sustainability of Kick, given the 95% subscription revenue split. However, as mentioned, Stake.com is a stakeholder in Kick – so the ultimate goal may not be generating profit from Kick itself anyway, but rather directing users to the gambling site. Esports veteran Scott ‘SirScoots’ Smith described Kick’s situation as entirely beneficial to Amazon overall, as if Kick does continue to grow and challenge Twitch, “so will the checks they have to write to Amazon.” And Kick has been growing rapidly. According to SimilarWeb, Kick.com received 58 million visits in March – up from only 13 million in January and 29 million in February. Twitch, for comparison, averages around 1 billion visits per month, so there is still a chasm between the two live streaming platforms. Either way, Amazon stands to benefit.

  • Kick forced to make service upgrades after shock xQc signing – Dexerto

Kick forced to make service upgrades after shock xQc signing KickKick has been forced to make upgrades to its services after the streaming platform went down following the signing of Twitch star xQc. Since its launch in late 2022, Kick has rivaled some of the biggest streaming platforms, even going toe-to-toe with the industry titan in Amazon-owned Twitch. Offering lucrative deals, Kick has been able to lure several prominent figures from other platforms so far, including the likes of Adin Ross, who signed “the biggest streaming deal ever” with the Stake-backed streaming service. Others include the likes of BruceDropEmOff, who joined Kick after receiving several bans from Twitch, and now one of the Amazon-owned platform’s biggest stars, xQc, has signed a $70 million deal in a non-exclusive two-year partnership. However, the signing of their newest star brought more traffic to the site than anticipated, forcing the platform into upgrading its services as they continue to grow at an exponential rate. Kick upgrades services after unexpected downtime In a tweet late on June 16, just a few hours after news broke of the signing of xQc, the platform informed users it was facing stability issues — due to experiencing up to 50 times more traffic than usual. “Kick is experiencing stability issues due to immense traffic (50x our usual). We are overwhelmed by your support and will get this fixed quickly,” they wrote. In a second tweet, the platform explained it’d be using the unexpected downtime to upgrade its services in order to handle the exponential growth expected in the coming weeks. “We’re currently using this slightly unexpected downtime to upgrade some necessary services. This will ensure Kick will be ready to handle exponential growth over these coming weeks. We appreciate your patience.” With one of Twitch’s biggest streamers now broadcasting on its number one competitor, it’s fair to say many are pessimistic for the Amazon-owned platform’s future, with other top streamers going as far as to claim Twitch is “done.”

  • Kick founder refutes “burning money” claims, says they turned profit in Q1 – Dexerto

Kick founder refutes “burning money” claims, says they turned profit in Q1 KickKick co-founder Ed Craven has denied that the new streaming platform is “burning money”, claiming they turned a profit in their first quarter. Despite launching just months ago, Kick has quickly grown to rival some of the biggest platforms in the live-streaming industry. Notably, they’ve gone toe-to-toe with Twitch, battling to take some of their top creators — offering lucrative contracts and a hefty 95/5% subscription revenue split. Although recently a former Amazon engineer has raised concerns about the platform’s long-term sustainability, arguing that Kick is “subsidizing” and “burning money” paying Amazon for their streaming services. However, in an interview with Kick content creator Big E, the site’s co-founder Eddie has denied that they’re burning money, and have in fact seen profit. Kick co-founder says platform already turned profit “I’ll be honest with you right now, Kick has only been around for three to four months, right? We saw profit in Q1,” the co-founder claimed during an April 15 interview. “We saw profit in Q1 just through one strategic partnership. “It’s not a difficult business model to sustain if you’re doing it correctly. I think there is a way to go about this. I think as long as people understand there is a long-term roadmap out there that we’re very comfortable with and doubling down on, I really look forward to seeing what’s achievable.” Ed continued: “I think all the people sort of doubting it is kind of interesting, and I think they’re already going start doubting it less every month that goes by.” “I think naturally, people are skeptical for the right reasons, and we’ll just continue to prove them wrong. Taking people’s subscription money isn’t what makes live streaming sustainable. That is the biggest misconception.” The co-founder also clarified that the company isn’t overpaying AWS for its server costs, adding that right now, there are “absolutely no issues” with Kick’s sustainability. “We’re making two to three-year deals with people right now,” he said. Currently, Kick is beginning to see massive month-on-month growth. According to website stat tracker SimilarWeb, Kick.com received 58 million visits in March — a massive increase from just 13 million in January and 29 million in February. However, they’ve still got long to go until they battle Twitch for the top spot, which averages around 1 billion site visits per month.

  • Kick finally adds report button to channels as criticism over moderation continues – Dexerto

Kick finally adds report button to channels as criticism over moderation continues Kick/Unsplash/joshuakettleKick has finally added a report button after months of controversial content on the platform and concerns over a lack of moderation on the Twitch rival. All streamers, and particularly those who take their broadcasts beyond the limits of community guidelines, will now be reportable on Kick thanks to a recent change that finally adds the functionality to report channels. Since its launch, Kick has been no stranger to controversy with many streamers banned on other platforms moving to the new site to start anew, and the drama has been constant with multiple streamers’ antics even leading to arrests. After Ice Poseidon had a “creepy” encounter with a sex worker in Australia and Johnny Somali was arrested for trespassing after a series of controversial broadcasts in Japan, Kick has added a report button and revealed plans for improved functionality. Kick adds report button after multiple controversial streams On October 6, Kick updated its community guidelines, stating that it added a report button because the platform prioritizes safety for all of its members. “This feature empowers you to actively contribute to maintaining Kick’s secure and respectful environment by reporting any behavior that violates policy or compromises user safety,” Kick said. “If you encounter a user engaging in harassment, hate speech, or other conduct that goes against our community guidelines, please don’t hesitate to use the ‘Report’ button.” However, Kick reiterated that its platform can get “rowdy” and warned users that the site may not be for everyone if they expect a tame experience. “If you insist on having total control over your environment at all times, you will likely have a tough time on Kick. We believe in fostering an environment where everyone can freely express themselves while respecting others. We’re committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all, and we value your input in this journey together.” On X, formerly known as Twitter, Kick reiterated its commitment to addressing reports of streams that violate its community guidelines. Thanks for all of your feedback 🙌 — Kick Support (@KickSupport) October 16, 2023 The report functionality will become more advanced as we build the platform further For now, if you believe context has been missed, email support@kick.com with necessary timestamps or clips Additionally, Kick revealed that it’s not finished with its report system, stating that the report functionality will become “more advanced” as the platform grows. We’ll have to see if these changes make a significant impact on the types of content we see on Kick as the streaming wars wage on.

  • Kick fires back at Elon Musk’s plans for live streaming on X/Twitter – Dexerto

Kick fires back at Elon Musk’s plans for live streaming on X/Twitter Elon Musk/KICKStreaming platform Kick fires back at Elon Musk’s plans for launching live streaming on X/Twitter in the most savage way. Here’s what they said and how fans reacted to it. Since each streamer chooses a site based on their viewership and the features it offers to their content, the streaming platform wars have persisted for some time. Two distinct platforms that enable producers and gamers to broadcast from a variety of devices be it phones, PCs, and consoles, Twitch and YouTube have so far dominated the field. On the other hand, quickly after their debut, Kick became well-known for their substantial revenue sharing with streamers and signed exclusive deals with prominent players like xQC, Adin Ross, and others. However, unlike the aforementioned platforms, social media sites like Facebook did not attract nearly as many viewers as they hoped. The idea of live streaming on X (formerly Twitter) has recently been brought by Elon Musk, who hopes to make it possible for users to broadcast material directly from their PCs or gaming consoles in the near future. Consequently, Kick has responded to Elon’s ideas with a ferocity that has escalated the streaming battles. Kick savagely responds to Elon Musk’s plans for X live streaming and monetization While sharing a post from Drama Alert on Elon Musk’s plans for X live stream monetization, Kick’s official X handle shared a shirtless image of the tech billionaire with the text “A new foe has appeared!” and “Challenger Approaching” written on it. The image was manipulated to resemble an enemy from a fighter game like Street Fighter and was followed by a quote from Kick that said, “pls dont shadowban us elon im sorry”, while mocking the X boss. Following the hilarious response several users turned in their comments with one user saying, “Cooked bro on his own platform.” Another chimed in, “Yep but kick wins 1v2 as well #PickKick.” A third user added, “Competition creates innovation. We saw it with Twitch when Kick was founded what’s to say this doesn’t create more innovation? Or it decimates all the competition. Who knows only time will tell.” A fourth one commented, “Tbh the livestreams on X got barely watched. I think the GUI for this platform doesn’t serve live streams any good at the moment. It needs to be revised then.” While there has been no official roadmap of the upcoming live-streaming feature on X, Elon did stream Diablo 4 on the platform once to show the potential of what X can be.

  • Kick copies Twitch with new chat features for viewers and mods – Dexerto

Kick copies Twitch with new chat features for viewers and mods Twitter: Kickcrayon/KickKick has introduced a major chat update to its moderation system, making it easier for streamers and moderators to ban, mute and report viewers, bringing the site more in line with the standards set by Twitch. Kick has consistently positioned itself as Twitch’s biggest competitor in the streaming industry, and frequently creates comparisons between itself with the streaming site’s 50-50 revenue split and Kick’s own 95-5 split. However, a constant criticism that Kick has faced in the past is the lack of moderation support. It has made it clear that it wants a less restrictive Terms of Service policy than the one Twitch enforces, but this has also made it harder for streamers to monitor their community. Kick announces “major chat update” for streamers and viewers But now, Kick is addressing some of the concerns in the community by giving creators and moderators more tools and quality-of-life changes that can be used to control chat. They also announced new cosmetic changes for viewers and channels, as Kick watchers can now change the colour of their name text. Channel Badges are also available to viewers, which is very reminicient of Twitch’s Chat Badge system. Kick streamers now also have the ability to use a Slow Mode for chat, and have protection from spammed messages. Moderators will have updated chat controls, that give them faster ways to ban or timeout viewers in chat. Kick’s annoucement also promised that more changes would come in the next 24 hours, including Chat History functions and moderation feedback for restricted viewers. These changes bring Kick closer to the resources and support available to streamers on Twitch, adding an extra incentive to creators to move platforms. Judging by the reacctions on Twitter, the changes seem to have been well recieved. • Kick faces backlash again for removing username to give to bigger streamer – Dexerto

Kick faces backlash again for removing username to give to bigger streamer KickStreaming platform Kick is facing criticism after forcefully removing another streamer’s name to give it to a bigger content creator. The platform has responded to the backlash. Kick has exploded in popularity since its launch in late 2021. The broadcasting platform, co-founded Trainwrecks, and connected with crypto-gambling site Stake.com, has quickly become one of Twitch’s top competitors. With lucrative contracts, and an impressive 95% subscriber revenue share — compared to Twitch’s 50% split with its broadcasters — some creators have been enticed to jump ship from the Amazon-owned platform. However, issues have cropped up, including users having their names on the platform stripped away, in order to make room for bigger streamers. Kick under fire again for removing another streamer’s name In an April 6 tweet, Kick streamer Angelina accusing Kick of giving her handle to a bigger content creator. “This is not cool @KickStreaming,” she wrote. “I had this account in January before you guys were starting to get known and u guys gave my username away to someone who has ‘more followers’ and when I email you say it’s because I’m inactive when I streamed yesterday and is almost affiliate.” The streamer also shared the email she received from the platform, and their response to the situation was no help. “Unfortunately, we have a certain policy with usernames and we are giving them away due to inactivity,” the email read. “By active, we are referring to active users that are actually streaming on our platform, and that actually ‘own’ this username as their trademark. We are hoping that you understand, and we are hoping that you can use your current or any other available username and give our platform a chance.” Furthermore, the situation caught the attention of Kick and Stake co-founder Ed Craven, who promised to help “work something out” for Angelina. “This is always a tough situation. We have a large issue with all known streamers having their names taken already, so we’re doing our best to return them in the fairest way possible,” he wrote. “With this said, it seems your situation is definitely a tricky one. If you could DM me I’ll work something out for you.” This isn’t the first time the platform has come under scrutiny for the same situation. Similarly, in March, streamer Sunlihyt claimed that Kick made her change her name because it was “reserved” for someone else despite it being actively used. The challenge for Kick is that in some cases, trolls are deliberately signing up using the names of big streamers, either to impersonate them or to attempt to sell the account to the streamer. The same situation occurred when Microsoft’s Mixer launched too.

  • Kick confirms “advanced moderation tools” coming to combat abuse in chat – Dexerto

Kick confirms “advanced moderation tools” coming to combat abuse in chat Kick/Unsplash: ElladonOne of the co-founders of Kick has confirmed that the platform is planning to introduce automatic moderation for streamers to counter racism and inappropriate language. Since its inception, Kick has been styling itself as Twitch’s biggest competitor and has directly drawn comparisons with the streaming site’s 50-50 revenue split and Kick’s own 95-5 split. However, one of the biggest criticisms leveled at Kick is the lack of moderation infrastructure. It has made it clear that it wants a less restrictive Terms of Service policy than the one Twitch enforces, which would give streamers there more freedom, but this also means streamers and chatters can get away with worse things. When GMHikaru announced that he would start streaming on the site, he reassured viewers that he would be bringing his entire moderation system over as well, so viewers could expect the same security. But now, Kick co-founder Eddie has confirmed that advanced moderation tools to help streamers combat abuse in chat will be coming soon. Eddie confirms advanced moderation coming to Kick One Kick streamer, named JeffThrow, tweeted out: “The dumbest part about Kick is the lack of automod. Something like banning slurs should be automatic.” Suprisingly, Kick co-founder Ed Craven replied to the message, explaining that more developed moderation options are on their way. He said: “We’ve got advanced moderation tools just around the corner. Still early stage beta and we have a lot more work to do but we’re getting there.” The move is the latest in Kick’s strategy to be taken more seriously as a viable competitor to Twitch, which still retains a cast-iron grip over the streaming industry. Recently, Kick upped the publicity by becoming the new sponsor for Alfa Romeo’s F1 team. For more news and updates on Kick, check out our coverage of Adin Ross’s recent controversy over transphobia.

  • Kick controversy grows as TheDanDangler streams with adult toy – Dexerto

Kick controversy grows as TheDanDangler streams with adult toy Twitter: thedandanglerTwitch streamer ‘TheDanDangler’ has added to the current controversy surrounding Kick after she showed an adult toy during a recent stream on the alternative broadcasting site. Kick is Twitch’s latest rival that’s pulling in more and more prominent broadcasters as time goes on — but its community, and the content that’s allowed on the site, are sparking a big debate online. Over the last few weeks, a slew of incidents have brought Kick under fire, most notably when Twitch star HeelMike copped a ban on the platform for seeming to engage in inappropriate activity during a February 23 stream. Now, Twitch streamer TheDanDangler is also facing backlash after showing an adult toy in a recent broadcast. TheDanDangler sparks backlash after showing adult toy on Kick stream A clip from the stream was published to Twitter by industry insider Jake Lucky, who censored the lower portion of TheDanDangler’s body as she showed off the adult toy. The post has cropped up quite the conversation online — but TheDanDangler was quick to reply to the outrage. In a response Tweet, TheDanDangler claimed that she was not unclothed during the broadcast, as the censorship would imply, and clarified that she did not use the toy, as was possibly suggested. “To set the record straight, I was not nude during this,” she explained. “I have a pink bra on with tape. I’m not sure why Jake blurred it out like this. Makes me feel a little weird.” “I showed this on an eighteen-plus site,” she continued. “And I didn’t use [the toy]. It was more of a joke. Kind of creepy.” TheDanDangler’s stream only adds to a slew of ongoing debate surrounding the new streaming platform, which was notably joined by Adin Ross after he complained of Twitch “silencing” him with its Terms of Service. Notable streamer Corinna Kopf, a friend of Adin, joined the platform as well, which is also home to Trainwrecks, who has been a staunch advocate of the site as a competitor to Twitch. For now, it remains to be seen if Kick will truly compete with Twitch in the long-term as other platforms like YouTube also scoop up streamers with exclusive contracts.

  • Kick co-founder threatens streaming takeover with ‘eventual’ Twitch buyout – Dexerto

Kick co-founder threatens streaming takeover with ‘eventual’ Twitch buyout Kick / TwitchAmidst the latest round of reported layoffs at Twitch, one supposedly reducing the workforce by 35%, Kick’s co-founder has threatened an eventual conclusion to the platform wars: A buyout of the Amazon-backed brand. Following on from hundreds of staff being let go in 2023, Twitch is now reportedly set for another round of layoffs. This time, Bloomberg has claimed roughly 500 employees will be made redundant in a matter of days, equating to around 35% of the entire company. With hundreds of workers seemingly on their way out, region support being dropped altogether, and many fearing the worst, it’s a turbulent start to the new year to say the least. Looking to pour salt in the wound, however, rival platform Kick, a competitor that only blossomed in 2023, has chimed into the conversation. Co-founder Bijan Tehrani has implied it’s only a matter of time until they outright purchase Twitch. Pondering the future of the streaming space in light of the Twitch layoff reports, influencer Jake Lucky questioned what might happen if the platform “implodes.” It was from this premise Kick’s co-founder took the opportunity to dogpile. “Kick will eventually buy Twitch,” Tehrani said bluntly in response to the hypothetical. Certainly no shortage of confidence, he then followed up on his own X (previously Twitter) account to highlight various job opportunities at Kick. Obviously, it’s worth taking this bold statement with a grain of salt for now. Kick is still a fledgling platform not even a year old, while Twitch has been in the spotlight for well over a decade, with many years prior as Justin.tv. Twitch is yet to address the reported layoffs, and impacted employees are seemingly yet to be handed their notice, Bloomberg suggests it’s only a matter of days until the drastic company reduction. We’ll be sure to keep you up to speed with all the latest developments here as the situation unfolds.

  • Kick.com streamer accused of having sex on stream remains unbanned – Dexerto

Kick.com streamer accused of having sex on stream remains unbanned Kick/suspendasKick streamer Suspendas remains unbanned despite getting nude while live and allegedly paying for sex on two separate broadcasts. The latest Twitch rival, Kick, has been off to a rocky start since its launch despite boasting a 95-5 revenue split, making it the most lucrative option for streamers. Unlike Twitch, Kick allows slots – something the Amazon-owned site recently banned after community backlash. And as it turns out, a lot more content seems to be anything goes given some recent reports. According to Full Squad Gaming’s Jake Lucky, a streamer named ‘Suspendas’ has managed to avoid a ban despite a series of broadcasts featuring graphic sexual content. Kick streamer accused of paying for sex while live In a tweet, Lucky posted a screenshot of Suspendas’ December 27 broadcast where he appeared completely nude. “A Kick streamer known as Suspendas has been accused yet again of having sex with a supposed hooker while live,” he said. “As he revealed himself fully nude on stream today. He remains unbanned.” This isn’t the first time that Lucky has commented on a streamer’s sexual actions on the platform. Earlier in December, he said one of his first experiences with Kick was with a streamer “actively engaging in sexual relations with a supposed prostitute live on stream.” Like Twitch, Kick’s community guidelines prohibit content that “Contains nudity, are pornographic, or depict sexual activity, actual or simulated,” or “Facilitate, encourage, offer, or solicit sexual conduct.” Notably, earlier this year, a Twitch streamer was banned after she was caught having drunken sex on stream, but her suspension was lifted after just one week. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for Kick and if its moderation team will enforce the community guidelines more stringently.

  • Kick CEO reveals they’re in talks with Dr Disrespect after he names his price – Dexerto

Kick CEO reveals they’re in talks with Dr Disrespect after he names his price Kick/DrDisrespectKick’s CEO Ed Craven has revealed that the platform has spoken to Dr Disrespect about making the move, and it comes just after the Two-Time laid out his contract demand. Whenever a new streaming platform pops up and starts signing streamers, it doesn’t take long before fans of Dr Disrespect start asking if he’ll make the move too. The Two-Time, who is still banned from Twitch for unknown reasons, has been pretty successful on YouTube but he’s not got a deal like Valkyrae or Ludwig. So, when Kick started dishing out contracts to streamers, it didn’t take long before the question reared its head again. The Doc has played into the rumors too, teasing a massive and pricey renovation to his “arena.” On top of that, and with xQc getting a reported $100 million deal from the Stake-backed platform, the Two-Time has said he wants half of that to make the move. And, there certainly is interest from Kick’s side. Kick CEO responds to Dr Disrespect contract demands It came up again during Jake Lucky’s interview with Kick CEO Ed Craven, when the Kick boss was asked straight up if he had any interest in bringing Doc over. “Dr Disrespect I’ve personally been a fan of for a long time, just as I’ve been a massive fan of a lot of streamers,” he said. “Having the chance to work alongside these guys is so f*cking cool. And Doc is one of them. “Doc is someone that we would love to work with. We are talking with his team. We’re talking with everyone! Well, not everyone, but most people have open communication lines with us. We want to work with everyone. We want to make things happen, we want to bring people over.” Timestamp of 31:58 Craven added that Kick wants to “give streamers what they’re worth,” but he didn’t directly respond to Doc’s eyewatering number of $50 million. Who knows, though, we might just see the Two-Time rocking some green and black before long.

  • Kick co-founder hits back at ex-Twitch exec amid Adin Ross’s ‘Kim Jong Un’ stream – Dexerto

Kick co-founder hits back at ex-Twitch exec amid Adin Ross’s ‘Kim Jong Un’ stream Twitch: DJWheatThe streaming wars rage on as Kick co-founder Bijan Tehrani says his platform lives “rent free” in ex-Twitch exec DjWheat’s head amid criticism around Adin Ross’s recent stream with a Kim Jong Un impersonator. On September 20, Adin Ross went live with a Kim Jong Un impersonator after claiming he wanted to travel to North Korea to stream with the political leader. Of course, controversial commentator Andrew Tate was also part of this call, which shattered viewership records on Kick with a whopping 300,000 live viewers at its max. However, this particular stream has been garnering quite a bit of controversy online as to which personalities and what kind of content is allowed on Kick… and it even caught the attention of a former Twitch figurehead. DjWheat lashes out at Kick after Adin Ross’s fake Kim Jong Un stream DjWheat was Twitch’s Director of Creator Development before he left the company in 2022. He worked at Twitch for over ten years and continues to be a major voice in the streaming space. On September 20, Kick posted a tweet commenting on Ross’s stream with the fake Kim Jong Un, writing, “We live in a simulation.” “Your business is a simulation,” DjWheat replied in a quote-retweet. Kick co-founder Bijhan Tehrani was quick to hit back at this comment, simply replying: “Rent free.” However, it doesn’t look like DjWheat is taking the situation all too seriously. In response to Tehrani, the former Twitch exec simply posted a meme that read, “Mad.” Kick also posted a response to DjWheat, telling him to “enjoy the show” alongside a screenshot showing that he follows the company on X/Twitter. DjWheat replied with a gif of actor Nick Offerman doing an “I see you” motion to the camera. This is just the latest instance of DjWheat expressing concern about Kick after calling the platform a “sham” back in 2022.

  • Kick CEO gifts Adin Ross a Rolls Royce for his birthday: “Twitch would never” – Dexerto

Kick CEO gifts Adin Ross a Rolls Royce for his birthday: “Twitch would never” Kick: Adin RossKick streamer Adin Ross celebrated his birthday on his latest livestream, with the content creator being surprised with a Rolls Royce by the Kick CEO and team. At the beginning of 2023, there was speculation that former Twitch streamer Adin Ross was planning on making the leap to new streaming platform Kick. After streaming across both sites for multiple weeks, Ross confirmed that he has officially joined Kick in what is still one of the biggest streamer deals of all time. Since then, Ross has been streaming on Kick for almost a year and has been a big supporter in the development of the new platform. In his most recent stream, Adin Ross brought the Kick team on, including CEO Eddie Craven, as they had a birthday present to give him and wanted to do so on stream. Blindfolded, Ross was led to a garage where he was then handed the keys to a brand new Rolls Royce. After Ross took the blindfold off and saw what Kick had gifted him for his birthday, he began shouting out “What the f**k. A Rolls f**king Royce. Shut the f**k up there is no way. Bro, they got me a Rolls Royce.” Craven then simply replied “happy birthday” before Ross jumped into the car. However, not before taking a jab at his former platform and stating “Twitch would never.” Ross then continued to express his complete surprise at the present, seemingly in a state of shock that Kick would give him such an expensive gift. At least, that’s how it all appeared on the surface. A month ago, Ross broke viewership records on Kick after the content creator decided to hold a fake Kim Jong Un interview stream. Following the success of this, Ross has now hinted at doing a similar stream with Donald Trump in the future. • Kick CEO promises they won’t cut massive sub splits despite concerns – Dexerto

Kick CEO promises they won’t cut massive sub splits despite concerns Kick.comKick CEO Eddie Craven has explained why they won’t change their massive sub splits despite some concerns about them long-term. Over the last few months, Kick, the Stake-backed streaming platform, has risen up as a brand new challenger to Twitch’s throne. They’ve managed to sign a number of streamers – including a blockbuster $100m non-exclusive deal with xQc – with the promise of more money. While Twitch gives most streamers a 50/50 split on sub revenue – some streamers get 70/30 – Kick actually gives them 95/5. This goes for all streamers, no matter how big your view count is or how many hours you stream. It’s an attractive proposition and one that certainly entices some to make the move. While there have been some concerns that it’s not sustainable, Kick CEO Eddie Craven has no plans to change. Kick have no plans to change 95/5 sub splits It came up during his recent interview with Jake Lucky as Craven explained that Kick views subscriptions like donations and that they don’t want to mess with that. “One thing that should definitely never be touched is the sub split. The sub split is something that is considered to almost be donations, right. You receive a donation from your community, you receive subs from your community for making great content and the whole idea of dipping into that sub split, our idea behind it is that its unfair,” Craven said. “We don’t think that a platform, a platform that simply curates other people’s content deserves a right to take a split of people’s revenue from donations. Donations are not something you should be taking money from.” The Kick boss added that the platform is looking toward advertisements as a way to turn it into an “extremely sustainable business” moving forward. Lucky also put the sustainability of the massive sub split to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy in his interview with him, however, Clancy was unwilling to comment on the ins and outs of platforms. Though, he did reveal his excitement for xQc’s deal. It remains to be seen if Kick’s persistence with 95/5 will force a rethink from Twitch or if they’ll open up any other revenue opportunities for streamers.

  • Kick CEO admits Adin Ross is a “brand risk” to streaming platform after controversy – Dexerto

Kick CEO admits Adin Ross is a “brand risk” to streaming platform after controversy Adin RossKick’s CEO has admitted that streamer Adin Ross is a “brand risk” to the streaming platform, due to his past controversies. Some of Twitch’s top creators have signed massive streaming deals with Kick since its rise in early 2023. Among them is Adin Ross, who signed the “biggest streaming deal of any creator” (according to himself) after being permanently banned from Twitch. Now considered to be the ‘poster boy’ of the Stake-backed platform, it’s fair to say Adin has been at the center of several controversies over the past couple of months. The Kick star has come under fire from the streaming community, notably for sharing sexual content with his viewers, asking fans to perform dangerous acts for money, going on a “transphobic rant” — and more recently, urging Twitch streamer Hasan to take his own life. With all this in mind, Kick’s CEO has admitted in an interview that Adin Ross is a “brand risk” to the platform. Kick CEO admits Adin Ross is a “brand risk” In an interview with Jake Lucky, Kick CEO Eddie Craven was asked if he believes Adin is a risk to the platform. “We’ve got a hell of a lot of respect for Adin,” said the CEO. “He’s been a great partner to us, he’s really helped us grow. You know, of course, a lot of people have views on some streamers, they have views on what they do, it is something which we understand and we really respect. “We don’t want to be on the wrong side of incorrect policy. There have been times, Adin is a friend of mine, I speak to Adin personally, I look after Adin personally, I’ve had to give Adin a call and say ‘hey man what’s going on here?’ And you know I think this is a really big part about moderation, how we can do this better. I think a lot of time there’s an element of communication between the platform and the creators to try to bridge the gap of where you may not be seeing eye to eye.” Ed continued: “We’ve had some really productive chats with Adin where there have been elements of controversy. We like to think we’ve definitely made progress. In terms of risk to the brand? I’d be lying if I said no, right? “There’s been a lot of people that have subsequently talked down on Kick because of the fact that some streamers use the service.” (Timestamp at 22:57) The CEO further explained that the platform wants to avoid pushing, or heavily promoting content that may be deemed inappropriate, adding that there’s a risk of having anybody streaming on the platform in its current state. Regardless, Kick is anticipating massive growth over the next couple of weeks, taking the time to upgrade its services as more top streamers are expected to join the platform.

  • Kick CEO claims life-changing contracts are “up for grabs” for streamers – Dexerto

Kick CEO claims life-changing contracts are “up for grabs” for streamers Unsplash.com: Jametlene Reskp / KICKKick CEO Eddie Craven has teased that the site has contracts worth millions that are “up for grabs” for streamers wanting an exclusive deal. Kick has risen as a major competitor to sites like Twitch and YouTube over the past few months, which have been home to live many of the net’s top-tier streamers for over a decade. Despite this competition, Kick has taken off in a major way since early 2023 as it secures major streamers with extremely lucrative contracts — some of which aren’t even exclusive. For instance, Kick famously offered a contract worth $100 million to Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel in June, turning the head of every content creator on the internet (and even catching the eyes of major celebrities, in the process). This contract isn’t exclusive, and lasts for two years, allowing the streamer to continue his work on Twitch or other sites as he pleases. Kick CEO says major contracts are waiting for streamers big & small At the time of writing, Kick already has a big roster of streamers like Adin Ross, Amouranth, xQc, and more — but the site’s CEO says that even bigger contracts are waiting in the wings. CEO Eddie Craven dropped a few nuggets of information via Twitter on July 21, where he claimed the platform has “incredible plans” for the future. “The greatest days of live streaming are still to come,” he wrote. “The greatest live content is still to be produced. The greatest streamers are still yet to do their first stream. We’ve got incredible plans, and Kick looks forward to leading the way into the next era of streaming.” However, not everyone thinks Kick handing out big contracts is a good idea. A user on Twitter offered a dissenting opinion, writing, “Signing xQc for $100 mil was a huge mistake. He streams more on Twitch than he does on Kick.” “If I was you, I’d try to find a loophole in the contract to void it ASAP,” they continued. “Also, start signing smaller/mid size streamers, better to sign 100 steamers for $1 mil each than 1 for $100 mil.” In response, Craven claimed there’s more than enough cheddar to go around. “[xQc] is a true flagship of the streaming industry,” he answered. “There’s definitely 100 x $1m deals up for grabs. There’s even 1,000 x $100k deals up for grabs. All alongside a creator incentive program made to ensure anyone can be paid a fair price for quality streams. Give us time.” This isn’t the first time Kick’s CEO has spoken out about the platform’s business side; just last month, Craven reassured streamers that the site wouldn’t slash subscriber pay cuts and will keep its highly-coveted 95/5 split and is looking toward advertisements to keep things “sustainable.”

  • Kick boss shares update on Dr Disrespect signing after $50M contract demand – Dexerto

Kick boss shares update on Dr Disrespect signing after $50M contract demand DrDisrespect/XStreaming platform Kick has shared a big update on possibly signing Dr Disrespect after the two-time demanded a $50 million contract to jump ship from YouTube. Dr Disrespect has been one of the most popular streamers on YouTube ever since being mysteriously banned from Twitch in the summer of 2020, but he’s interested in finding a new home. Kick began its launch by signing a number of big names, including Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to a lucrative $100M deal, leading many to wonder if Doc would also be offered a chance to join the site. Shortly after xQc’s deal, Dr Disrespect named his price and requested $50M. While Kick’s CEO revealed he were in talks with Doc’s team to get a deal done, nothing has materialized… and we may finally have a reason why. Kick suggests Dr Disrespect wanted too much money In an interview with streamer Big E, Kick’s Head of Product Paulie Chianese was asked about Dr Disrespect and when fans could expect to see him on the green platform. “Doc wants fifty mil, and Doc’s not playing around with that number,” Chianese revealed. This seems to imply that the $50 million number is firm and that the two-time isn’t going to settle for less and will continue to stream on YouTube. “I love the Doc. I’ve watched him for years and years. I think he’s one of the most entertaining streamers in the business,” he added. “But fifty million is fifty million.” (segment begins at 31:18) It’s possible that, judging by these comments, the Kick team doesn’t feel like the Doc is actually worth that amount and talks broke down, so we may not end up seeing Dr Disrespect packing up his arena from YouTube anytime soon. The YouTuber actually may have alluded to Kick not wanting to pay up during a stream back in June when he discussed the offer, saying wasn’t sure “how much money” they have. Doc also hinted that his current commitments and business ventures may also be impacting a deal, referencing his game studio Midnight Society and Black Steel Bourbon. Regardless of whether or not Kick ends up taking Doc up on his offer, other platforms have expressed interest in signing him. During an exclusive interview with Dexerto, Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski said he “would definitely love to have Dr Disrespect.”

  • Kick celebrates massive user count goal just months after launch – Dexerto

Kick celebrates massive user count goal just months after launch Kick.comLivestreaming platform Kick is celebrating a massive user count goal just months after Trainwreck began advertising the platform. First teased by TrainwrecksTV at the end of 2022, Twitch competitor Kick has skyrocketed in popularity largely thanks to creators being able to make a “life-changing” amount of money. The platform has brought over quite a few big-name creators, including Adin Ross, GMHikaru, Corinna Kopf, and more. On May 31, 2023, Kick revealed that they reached a massive user count goal just months after launch. Kick reaches five million accounts on the platform In a tweet, Kick revealed the massive amount of accounts they’ve managed to get on the platform since it was first teased back in 2022. “5,000,000 people know what’s up,” they said in the post. “Five million accounts, and we’re just getting started.” Fans were quick to flood the replies with congratulatory messages and love for the platform. “Grats on 5 Mil guys,” said one streamer. “Honestly, it feels like the best decision I have made when it comes to streaming. Switching to this platform has been nothing but W’s and I look forward to the future,” replied another. Another user replied: “Only the beginning.” It’s no secret that Kick viewership has skyrocketed since the beginning of 2023, with Roshtein, Adin Ross, and more receiving tens of thousands of viewers each stream according to Streams Charts. Many critics of the platform are certain that the site will go the way of Mixer sooner than later, so we’ll have to wait to see what happens in the coming months. • Kick adds highly requested feature before Twitch in platform update – Dexerto

Kick adds highly requested feature before Twitch in platform update Kick/Unsplash: @joshuakettleKick has added a couple of highly-requested features, including one that Twitch fans have wanted the Amazon-owned platform to introduce for years. The streaming wars have been heating up for some time now, with Kick signing some of the biggest stars available, such as xQc, to lucrative contracts to beef up their offerings. In addition to streaming talents, however, Kick has also been hard at work adding new features to compete with Twitch – including one that have viewers have been demanding for ages. On August 1, Kick unveiled a couple of big clip features that could seriously improve the experience for viewers going forward. Kick adds new clip feature Twitch fans have wanted for ages In an announcement on X, Kick revealed that a couple of very popular features had just gone live and urged viewers to keep the feature requests coming. The announcement said that chat replays would now be available for both VODs and clips, along with a special download option for viewers to quickly save big moments. Having a download option should make the ability to save clips a lot easier, while the chat being visible can give viewers the chance to see what the broadcast was like when big moments happen. While the chat replay isn’t anything new, the download functionality is definitely a big deal and one that users are very excited for, calling it a “W” update. It’s anyone’s guess what Kick has up its sleeve next, but for now, Twitch fans will need to look on in envy as clips just became a lot more accessible on the rival platform.

  • Kick bans waves of bots as viewers accuse streamers of viewbotting – Dexerto

Kick bans waves of bots as viewers accuse streamers of viewbotting Kick/Unsplash/joshuakettleKick has finally taken action against bots artificially inflating streamers’ viewer numbers after months of concerns. Streaming platform Kick has emerged as a true competitor to Twitch, offering content creators a significantly higher sub-split and even signing some of the biggest streamers such as xQc and Amouranth. While Kick has had its share of controversy in regards to the content allowed on the platform, another issue the site has experienced is viewbotting with many streamers appearing to have more viewers than they really do. For instance, streamer N3on was recently accused of using bots to inflate his viewer count after numerous accounts to a similar name spammed his chat with a Discord link. He’s not the only one with an apparent bot issue either. During a recent appearance on Trainwreck’s Scuffed Podcast, Kick star Adin Ross alleged he had been getting botted for five to six months and had urged the site to take action. Kick announces massive bot ban wave amid viewbotting accusations On December 27, Kick confirmed that it had finally cracked down on bots and warned streamers that their follower counts could take a significant drop. “Recently, we have removed a large number of bot accounts,” the site’s X account stated. “Any noticeable drop in your follower count is likely a result of this action. Please contact support@kick.com if you have any concerns.” Following the announcement, some users flocked to the comments to applaud the platform, but others revealed they had ongoing issues that weren’t solved by the mass bans. Among the series of “W” comments, some explained that they were being deliberately targeted and their accounts saw little to no change. “I was follow botted months ago for several weeks by the same person targeting me and I brought it up multiple times to support… I have seen no change at all in my followers and would really love to see them gone,” one said. “Help meeee remove them from my account plzzzzz I emailed you guys everytime it happened,” explained another. We’ll have to see what the next course of action Kick takes to deal with bots and what the site has planned in 2024 as the streaming wars continue. • Kia & Hyundai respond as TikTok car theft trend continues – Dexerto

Kia & Hyundai respond as TikTok car theft trend continues Unsplash: nilsbogdanovsKia and Hyundai have responded to a spate of car thefts believed to be a result of a TikTok trend that sees thieves using a USB cord to hotwire cars. TikTok is known for having a huge number of viral trends, and while many of them are completely harmless, some of them have generated a significant amount of criticism for being dangerous, or even illegal. One trend that appears to have been around on TikTok since last year, sees thieves targeting certain models of 2010-2021 Hyundai and Kia cars which use a mechanical key and not a key fob and push-button to start the vehicle. The ‘trend’ is often referred to as the ‘Kia Boys’ trend, and there have been a number of videos about it going viral on TikTok, whether that’s footage of the theft itself, or Kia owners showing the aftermath of their vehicle being broken into. Speaking to CNBC, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said that, “in our jurisdiction alone, [thefts of certain models are] up over 800% in the last month. We see no end in sight.” He added: “The viral nature of how this has taken off on social media — it’s accelerated this like we’ve never seen,” Dart said. ”[The perpetrators are] doing it in 20 to 30 seconds. It literally is as old-fashioned as you can imagine.” A spokesperson for Kia reportedly said that they are concerned about the thefts, and that they’ve provided free steering wheel lock devices to law enforcement in affected areas. “It is unfortunate that criminals are using social media to target vehicles without engine immobilizers in a coordinated effort,” they said. “While no car can be made theft-proof, criminals are seeking vehicles solely equipped with a steel key and ‘turn-to-start’ ignition system. The majority of Kia vehicles in the United States are equipped with a key fob and “push-button-to-start” system, making them more difficult to steal. All 2022 Kia models and trims have an immobilizer applied either at the beginning of the model year or as a running change.” A spokesperson for Hyundai said that they will begin selling a security kit from next month, and that they are pursuing an effort to distribute steering wheel locks also.

  • KiaraaKitty banned from Twitch for the second time in 2023 – Dexerto

KiaraaKitty banned from Twitch for the second time in 2023 Twitter: KiaraakittyPopular IRL Twitch streamer KiaraaKitty has been handed another suspension from the platform, her second this year and her sixth time overall. KiaraaKitty typically streams IRL (in real life), often while traveling around the world. She has thousands of loyal viewers, but also many critics, mainly due to a 2021 controversy when she was accused of scamming seven people, which she denies. She has also been subject to numerous suspensions from Twitch itself, the most recent in January, when she was banned for sexual content after performing squats on stream with her back to the camera. On April 25, Kiaraa was handed yet another ban, although the reason is not yet confirmed. Why was KiaraaKitty banned from Twitch? KiaraaKitty’s channel is currently unavailable on Twitch, although the ban is not permanent. The exact cause of the ban has not been revealed by Kiaraa, and Twitch itself will never comment on community guidelines violations, however, there are some theories about what caused this latest ban. The most likely, according to viewers, is that Kiaraa was banned for applying oil to her chest, while showing and discussing it on stream. Twitch’s community guidelines on sexually suggestive content prohibit “Content or camera focus on breasts, buttocks, or pelvic region, including poses that deliberately highlight these elements.” While Kiaraa is banned, she continues to produce content on TikTok and OnlyFans, and is encouraging fans to engage with her content on those platforms. She has been critical of Twitch in the past as a result of previous bans. Receiving multiple bans can lead to an indefinite suspension, Twitch says.

  • Kia Boyz TikTok trend explained: 19% increase in car thefts as cops blame online challenge – Dexerto

Kia Boyz TikTok trend explained: 19% increase in car thefts as cops blame online challenge Unsplash: 𝔑𝔦𝔩𝔰 𝔅𝔬𝔤𝔡𝔞𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔰Car thefts have surged this year with New York City seeing nearly a 19% annual increase. Police officials have now revealed they suspect a viral TikTok challenge is to blame. New York City is currently facing a bizarre epidemic of car thefts that the Police Department suspects is the result of a viral TikTok challenge. According to the New York Post, there has been an annual increase of nearly 19% in car thefts this year, with new statistics showing there were 24% more grand larceny auto reports in August 2023 compared to statistics for August 2022. During a news conference, police officials revealed they believed this spike was due to a TikTok challenge that saw young viewers encouraged to hijack vehicles. And NYC has not been the only US city hit — so, what is the social media challenge sparking an epidemic across a nation? What is the Kia Boyz TikTok trend? TikTok thrived during the pandemic with the platform giving rise to various social media challenges, one being the “Kia Boyz” in late 2021. The trend involved stealing Kias and Hyundais, with the name “Kia Boyz” referring not to a particular group but to various teenagers who all participated by using the same specific method. The cars are not stolen for money or with the intention of keeping the vehicle, but rather for joyrides as a source of fun. In fact, many of the offenders are too young to hold a driver’s license. This was made possible due to Kia’s cost-saving measures and a lack of regulations, with models manufactured anywhere between 2011 to 2021 proving to be easy targets. The NYPD is now enacting a plan to equip certain police cruisers with license plate readers to spot stolen vehicles and tackle the continuous problem. “We have seen double-digit increases — it’s simply not acceptable,” NYPD Police Commissioner Edward Caban said during a news conference surrounding the spike in car thefts. “There are some who think they can just steal a car in the city and get away with it, well, they are sadly mistaken.” Check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

This can often lead to fans wondering what kind of effect this scale of negativity has on the family. In a video posted on March 10, TikToke user hellotefi reacted to a video Khloe Kardashian recently published on her Instagram page showcasing her Glam Bag X collection with IPSY. https://www.tiktok.com/@hellotefi/video/6937902749304605957?lang=en&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6891581267042141701 Hellotefi looked shocked at the video, and kept on saying, “who is this? Who is that? Where am I?” The video quickly went viral, as many other Kardashian fans clearly seemed to agree that Khloe looked different. The video now has over 590,000 likes. In the comments, many shared their confusion at Khloe’s apparent ‘new face.’ “She looks different in every post bruh, no hate tho,” one commenter wrote. “Her nose looks so different,” another said. However, many were concerned by the rapid changes in her physical appearance, theorizing that negativity online and the constant comparison to other members of her family was the root of some insecurity. “It’s sad that this is the result of constant criticism towards how she looked,” said one supporter. “Khloe has always been beautiful, sad that she felt she had to change” “Not to be one of those people, but her changing her appearance so much is the result of people insulting her and comparing her to her sister,” another fan wrote. Khloe has now turned off comments on the original video following the influx of negativity, but it seems that many of those on TikTok feel bad for the star.

Khamzat Chimaev calls out Logan Paul for UFC fight after Dana White comments Instagram: khamzat_chimaev / YouTube: IMPAULSIVEMMA pro Khamzat Chimaev is challenging YouTube boxer Logan Paul after Dana White claimed he was open to letting Paul have a turn in the UFC. Logan Paul has long vied for a spot in the UFC ever since his debut boxing match against former rival KSI in 2018. At first, White was clearly disinterested in entertaining the Paul brothers, notably saying the duo would “get murdered” the second they set foot in the octagon. However, four years and three boxing matches later, White admitted he was “not saying no” to the possibility of Logan getting a stint in the UFC during a recent podcast episode. View this post on Instagram Since his first bout with KSI in the boxing ring, Paul has taken on undefeated boxing champ Floyd Mayweather and has even made multiple appearances in the WWE. With this in mind, along with Dana’s comments, it seems that a major name in the UFC is eyeing Logan as a potential opponent. UFC welterweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev notably called out Logan on Twitter in a response to Dana’s comments regarding his potential career in the combat sports org. “I’m waiting for you in UFC [Logan],” Chimaev wrote, adding a zombie emoji to show that the YouTuber’s already a ‘dead man walking.’ Dana didn’t tell Logan Paul no 😳 (via @impaulsiveshow) pic.twitter.com/U3KnUolgxY — ESPN MMA (@espnmma) March 17, 2022 Although Paul has yet to respond to this latest callout, he’s already setting his sights fairly high; the oldest Paul brother is also considering a full-time career in the WWE following his well-received match against Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. • Khaby Lame overtakes Charli D’Amelio as most-followed TikTok creator – Dexerto

Khaby Lame overtakes Charli D’Amelio as most-followed TikTok creator Instagram: charlidamelio / YouTube: Nas DailyKhaby Lame has officially overtaken Charli D’Amelio as TikTok’s most-followed content creator after months of fan campaigns urging viewers to send him to the top. Sengalese-born social media star Khabane Lame is now the undisputed king of TikTok. Sitting at 142,389,179 followers at the time of writing, he has officially surpassed Charli D’Amelio, who sat in her throne as TikTok Queen for over two years. Khaby’s latest accomplishment comes on the heels of a huge fan effort across TikTok to see him beat out Charli, using hashtags like #KhabyToNumberOne to spread the word. Of course, Khaby was going viral well before his fans took off on this endeavor. Last year, Lame garnered a jaw-dropping 15 million followers between May 8 and May 23, according to metrics taken from Social Tracker. Khaby is best known for his viral life-hack debunking videos, where he humorously takes the “easy” route that so many life hacks seem to walk miles around — all with a totally unamused look as though he’s “done” with their shenanigans. Click here if TikTok fails to load. Khaby’s upset comes two years after Charli took the title of TikTok royalty from Loren Gray, who, at the time, had 41 million followers on the app. Since then, Charli has skyrocketed to 141 million followers, and Khaby has surpassed even that. Of course, there’s no enmity between these two social media celebrities; the duo met up back in February of this year and snapped a few photos together, showing that although there might be some healthy competition among them, it’s all love in the end. CHARLI AND KHABY? i didn’t expect that omg pic.twitter.com/FcivEOLrk1 — lily (@lilysdamelio) February 25, 2022 This massive shift in TikTok’s ranks also follows some odd metrics for some of the app’s biggest stars, including Charli and Addison Rae, who have seen a substantial loss in followers over the past month. Although it’s clear they’re still doing well for themselves, with both women set to star in major films.

  • Khaby Lame shuts down critics after posting anti-racism message to Instagram – Dexerto

Khaby Lame shuts down critics after posting anti-racism message to Instagram Instagram: khaby00TikTok star Khaby Lame is unbothered by users who unfollowed him on Instagram after getting upset at an anti-racist message he posted to the platform. Khaby Lame is one of the most popular content creators on TikTok right now. Hot on the heels of Charli D’Amelio (the most-followed individual on the app), Lame boasts over 114 million followers and has a slew of humorous videos destroying “life hacks” to show for it. While he’s an increasingly popular influencer, he’s seen a few angry fans unfollow him over on Instagram, where he has garnered an equally impressive 48 million followers. The reason for this exodus appears to stem from an anti-racist message he posted to his Instagram stories, which included the phrase: “Say no to racism.” Khaby Lame responds to backlash over anti-racist post Apparently, this message prompted some of his fans to turn tail and take back their follow — but Khaby isn’t bothered by it. He hit back at their reaction in another post where he urged his fanbase to create a positive impact on the world. “I’m seeing a lot of comments where people say: I unfollow you because you did this video,” he began. “I don’t mind guys, we are almost in 2022 and people still use racism because they have nothing to do in their life. Be happy, follow your dream and save the planet.” “You can also unfollow me,” he continued. “I don’t care about the numbers, I care about your hearts! If you do think of something new, do it right and in a positive way!” Khaby then directed his followers to a charity they could donate to, instead of “wasting time writing negative comments criticizing.” It seems that Khaby is turning a negative moment into a positive opportunity for people to give back and help others, paying no heed to follower count and instead focusing on making a difference in wake of the backlash.

  • Khaby Lame overtakes Addison Rae on TikTok to become 2nd-most followed user – Dexerto

Khaby Lame overtakes Addison Rae on TikTok to become 2nd-most followed user Instagram: addisonraee / TikTok: khaby.lameViral sensation Khaby Lame has managed to overtake Addison Rae in followers on TikTok, making him the second-most followed person on the platform — and with such a rapid rise in followers, it looks like he could beat Charli D’Amelio next. It’s no secret that TikTok has become the center of viral content on the internet, and along with countless new challenges, trends, and songs, the app has also had a hand in popularizing some of the most well-known faces on the internet right now. Since 2019, both Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio have been climbing the ranks, and with a staggering amount of followers between them, they certainly seemed to be ruling the platform in first and second place on the most-followed list. But that’s all changed thanks to one unlikely entrance to the list — Khaby Lame. Who is Khaby Lame? This Italian TikToker has made a name for himself by reacting to some of the internet’s weirdest and most useless life hacks, always having the perfect wordless response to these bizarre videos. Each of his videos racks up millions of views, some of them over 100 million, and back in May people started to notice that his follower count was on an incredibly rapid rise as well. At the time of writing, Addison has 81.7 million followers, and Khaby has 82.8 million followers, putting him firmly in second place. But fans don’t think he’ll stop there. As he continues to snowball in popularity, some think there’s a good chance he could even overtake Charli D’Amelio, who is now the only person left on the platform with more followers than him, at 119 million. People certainly seem to be enjoying the shake-up to the most-followed list, and it looks like Khaby will continue to rise in popularity sharply.

Over the past few years, video-sharing platform TikTok has snowballed in popularity, and countless popular influencers have made names for themselves along with it. In November 2020, 17-year-old Charli D’Amelio became the first person to hit 100 million followers on the app, after gaining a huge amount of popularity thanks to her dance and lip-sync videos. While it looked like it wasn’t possible for anyone to outrank the young dancer, content creator Khaby Lame looks like he could be close to taking the top spot after hitting 100 million followers himself. • Khabib’s coach explains why Jake Paul would win Conor McGregor fight – Dexerto

Khabib’s coach explains why Jake Paul would win Conor McGregor fight Instagram/jakepaulWith a possible fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor in the cards, UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach has weighed in on who he thinks would win in combat. YouTuber Jake Paul has made a big name for himself in the fight world in recent years. With a 5-0 record that includes KOs against former UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, The Problem Child has shown that he means business. When he’s not knocking out former MMA champs, he’s been actively pursuing fights and has frequently been pushing to secure a match against ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, constantly calling out The Irishman. Now, as a possible fight between the influencer and UFC star grows more likely, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach, Javier Mendez, chimed in on why he thinks Paul would have the upper hand. Khabib’s coach warns McGregor not to underestimate Jake Paul In an interview with Betway, Mendez was asked about a fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor and who he thinks would win. “I would favor Jake Paul at 175 over Conor in a boxing ring because he’s too big. But you can’t count Conor out, Conor’s a good boxer, so you can’t discount his boxing ability,” he said. When Paul made his latest offer to UFC President Dana White for a fight against McGregor, he made it clear that he would do so at 175 pounds, dismissing any weight concerns White had. Khabib’s coach says Paul would beat McGregor due to his size Mendez went on to explain that Jake’s size would give him a big edge, regardless of McGregor’s years of experience. “The size is a little much, Jake hits extremely hard, as you can tell by what he’s done. If you haven’t woken up to Jake’s ability you better, because he’s only improving. So I think the size is a big difference and the power would be too much for Conor,” he added. “Sometimes you can be bigger and not punch harder, but in this case Jake is bigger than Conor and punches harder and he’s good, so all three variables are with Jake. He’s just a bigger man fighting a smaller man.” Furthermore, he remarked how Paul has had “high pressure” fights of his own, so it would ultimately come down to size where the YouTuber has a big advantage. Despite having no shortage of possible opponents, it’s still not clear who Jake Paul will face when he returns to the ring. The Problem Child has said he’s aiming at fighting again come Summer of 2022. If a fight between Paul and McGregor gets approved, the Irishman may need to stay out of trouble for it to even happen. On March 23, he was arrested for dangerous driving – just one day after another of Paul’s potential adversaries, Jorge Masvidal, was charged with felony battery for attacking Colby Covington outside a restaurant in Miami.

  • Khaby Lame accused of “body shaming” in resurfaced TikToks – Dexerto

Khaby Lame accused of “body shaming” in resurfaced TikToks TikTok: khaby.lameFollowing his 100 million follower milestone, some users are accusing Khaby Lame of “body shaming” women in resurfaced TikToks. In the past year, content creator Khaby Lame has seen a rapid rise in his TikTok follower count, which is looking to rival current most-followed TikToker Charli D’Amelio. Khaby became the second person after Charli to hit the huge milestone of 100 million followers on August 9, and it’s looking like he won’t slow down any time soon. His recent content is mostly made up of him reacting to some of the internet’s weirdest life hacks, but after he reached his latest milestone, some TikTok users went looking through some of his older content. Khaby is now being criticized by users who claim that he “body-shamed” women in several videos in which he either ‘Stitched’ or ‘Duetted’ another post on the platform. Click here if TikTok doesn’t load Under one video from January 4, viewers have been leaving their thoughts. “Body shaming at its peak… smh,” one user wrote. Others on Instagram tea page TikTokRoom echoed the same view, and compared the situation to a similar situation Charli D’Amelio had when she hit 100 million followers, where people accused her of being “ungrateful” after comments made in a YouTube video with her family. However, others defended the TikToker. “You guys are so dramatic,” one user wrote, “THIS WAS 8 MONTHS AGO. Trying to get him canceled as soon as he hits 100.” Khaby has yet to respond to the backlash at the time of writing, but the controversy doesn’t seem to have made any noticeable dent in his follower count so far.

  • Khabib Nurmagomedov just challenged Floyd Mayweather – Dexerto

Khabib Nurmagomedov just challenged Floyd Mayweather It looks like UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t finished riding the high from his victory against Conor McGregor at UFC 229 – in fact, the wrestler has called out yet another formidable opponent, as well. Khabib challenged boxing pro Floyd Mayweather in an Instagram post on October 13, where he stood alongside boxing manager DeJuan Blake. “Hey, let’s go, Floyd,” Khabib said with a smile. “We have to fight now. 50 and 0 versus 27 and 0 – two guys who never lose.” He appeared confident in a victory against the boxer, stating that he had managed to drop McGregor when Mayweather hadn’t. He even referred to himself as ‘the king of the jungle’ in reference to his record. “Let’s go, why not?” he asked. “Because in the jungle, only one king… Of course I’m the king, because he cannot drop McGregor, but I dropped him easily. That’s why. Let’s go.” Blake also offered Khabib a spot in Mayweather Productions, as revealed by a statement in the video’s caption. “Fuck UFC & Bellator MMA, sign with Mayweather Productions and get what you deserve!” Blake wrote. “Matter of fact, Affiliation Management is the PLUG.” While Mayweather has yet to respond to Khabib’s challenge, he previously stated that Khabib’s post-match brawl after defeating McGregor at UFC 229 was ‘very unprofessional.’ Blake’s offer marks another opportunity in a slew of proposals Khabib has received following his assault on McGregor’s Jiu Jitsu coach at UFC 229. Alongside an alleged offer from the WWE and 50 Cent’s proposal with MMA team Bellator, it seems like Khabib could have a shot with Mayweather Productions, to boot.

  • Khabib shuts down Jake Paul MMA offer for good: “You think he can fight me?” – Dexerto

Khabib shuts down Jake Paul MMA offer for good: “You think he can fight me?” Instagram: khabib_nurmagomedov / Instagram: JakePaulUndefeated MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is completely done with the idea of a Jake Paul fight, shutting it all down in an interview with the NELK Boys and joking he could smash the internet celeb in a “couple of minutes.” With a 29-0 professional record including a flawless stint as UFC lightweight champion, Khabib is unquestionably one of the biggest icons in the sport. Naturally, Paul has been calling him out, as he does with most of MMA’s top draws. Now allegedly training with a wide array of combat sports in mind beyond just boxing, the YouTube star was recently sent an offer that piqued his interest. Khabib himself reached out with a deal as part of his new Eagle Fight Club promotion. Paul was open to joining the new UFC rival – especially with his feud over fighter pay only getting hotter – though he would only sign on one condition. “That’s a deal, but only if I fight [Khabib] first,” he said. Responding to the callout, Khabib has now completely brushed off the challenge, joking that he would smash Paul in a “couple of minutes.” “With me? Come on… I don’t think so,” Khabib said with a smile on the latest episode of the NELK Boys’ Full Send podcast. “In MMA? You think he can fight with me?” the former UFC champ asked bluntly. Not wanting to step out of retirement, he simply said Paul was “late” with his rise to fame. “I’m finished,” he explained. “Of course, we can think about this. I watched his videos, he was sparring. He has a lot to learn.” Admittedly, Khabib was still interested in one thing: Paul’s star power. With his new MMA promotion off the ground, he’s willing to “give [Paul] a chance and sign him.” In fact, a contract may have already been sent. Khabib comments on Jake Paul at the 11:10 mark below. So although the dominant Khabib won’t be squaring off with the YouTuber turned boxer, he is still open to working with him. If terms are met, the younger Paul brother could step into an octagon in Eagle FC in the near future. “We can pay him,” Khabib added. Only time will tell if it’s enough to strike a deal. With multiple promotions showing interest, we’ll have to wait and see where Paul makes his MMA debut.

TikToker Terra Hoyt, who goes by ‘landhoyt7’ on the platform, got more than she bargained for after deciding to visit a KFC drive-thru. Terra allegedly had a Mountain Dew poured into her help lap from the window, resulting in her deciding to take matters into her own hands and enter the fast food venue. She decided to film the second encounter, sharing the tense interaction with followers in a video that’s since raked in over 850,000 views. In the video, Terra approached the workers and let them know she was filming while warning viewers to stay away from the store. “You’re a f****** Karen, you dumb b****,” the drive-thru worker shouted back. When Terra stated she would be sending the footage through to the owner, the same worker responded with, “Yeah? I don’t care b****, I don’t care at all, not one bit.” Another worker then walked up to Terra and threw a cup full of what appeared to be water at her. After Terra posted the clip to TikiTok, many weren’t sure of which side to take following their own experiences or understandings of the hospitality industry. “Ok, but I wanna see the interaction before this [because] for a whole place to not like you,” one person commented. Another said, “Nah, what did YOU do to them!?” Terra since shared a second TikTok that shows nothing but a black screen and some context for the clip, explaining the interaction has nothing to do with race and was simply her response getting mountain due poured on her. Many, however, remained skeptical, with one writing, “Where’s the employee point of view [because] I need to know what actually happened.” As of yet, the employees have yet to respond. However, after first poking fun at the question, Hart composed himself to provide a real answer. “I would say in a perfect world in the future, I’ve got a feeling they’ll be able to knock it out of the park because of where they’ll be, Kai Cenat.” Hart later added that if Cenat was to “cut the dreads off and stuff, I think he can get in there and pull out a phenomenal performance.” While Cenat’s current filmography is limited, the Twitch streamer has already entered the world of acting when he starred in the 2023 buddy cop movie, Global Pursuit. • Kevin Hart can’t resist roasting Ninja’s real first name – Dexerto

Kevin Hart can’t resist roasting Ninja’s real first name Streaming superstar Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins appeared on Kevin Hart’s “Cold as Balls” where he talked about gaming, Mixer, and even had his real first name roasted. Ninja’s latest endeavor took him to Kevin Hart’s show Cold as Balls, which part of the Laugh of Loud Network, where the comedian chats with guests in an ice bath about what they have going on in their lives. With this being an interview with Ninja, he talked about the usual topics such as the time he played with Drake and Travis Scott as well as his switch from Twitch to Mixer. However, things went a little off-script near the end when Ninja began asking Hart questions about himself, such as his first name. Amusingly, the Jumanji actor didn’t really know a whole lot about Ninja and had to quickly come up with something witty. “Ninja Stevenson,” he stammered before cutting Blevins off from responding. “You didn’t let me finish my answer. Your name is Dick, right, and Dick is short for what? Richard. And because you didn’t like when people called you Dick, you learned karate, which is how you got the nickname Ninja.” (Discussion begins at 12:50) Of course, none of that is true but it is pretty hilarious to see the whole story essentially get made up on the spot by Hart. Not many people know Ninja’s real name is Richard, of course, since he’s pretty much known by his online persona or Tyler Blevins outside of gaming, almost always omitting his real first name. When asked by Hart about his switch from Twitch to Mixer, he explained that it wasn’t about the money. “Contrary to popular belief, it really wasn’t a money play,” he said. “A lot obviously think it was. The deal was better to continue to grow our brand.” Hart was also very interested in learning more about streaming after hearing the amount of money that’s up for grabs by getting involved. While he doesn’t have any plans to start up a Twitch or Mixer channel right now, perhaps that could change in the future. Maybe we could even see some Fortnite duos in the future with him and Ninja.

Kenzie Ziegler’s boyfriend throws shade after TikTok Room Awards loss Instagram: tacodaaaAfter Dance Moms alumni Kenzi Ziegler missed out on honors at the TikTok Room Awards, her boyfriend, Tacoda Dubbs, made his feelings on the loss clear with a petty comment on social media. It was a tense night on November 28 as the stars of TikTok anxiously awaited the results of TikTok Room’s first-ever awards show. Among the 28 categories, one of the most highly-contested ones was ‘Best Dancer (Female),’ as a total of seven TikTok stars were in the running for this award, including Addison Rae, Charli D’Amelio, Jalaiah Harmon, Haley Sharpe, Zoi Lerma, Syera Plitt, and Kenzie Ziegler. However, Charli D’Amelio ended up winning the category – which was voted for by fans – by a significant landslide. TikTok Room revealed that she picked up 33.7% of the voter share, and received 158,885 votes in total. Meanwhile, Kenzie Ziegler only received 11% of the votes, which landed her in fourth place. View this post on Instagram As TikTok Room announced the results on their Instagram account, Kenzie Ziegler’s boyfriend, Tacoda Dubbs, commented a shady “ahahaha” under the post, implying that he was laughing at the result. The plot then thickened when Dubbs posted a video of himself dancing with Kenzie on his Instagram story, quipping that she would “always be the best dancer to [him]”. Fan responses to Tacoda’s fierce defense of his girlfriend’s loss were mixed; one Instagram user asked, “Why so petty? This is a VIRTUAL awards show”, while another user remarked that “it seems like he’s bringing down Charli to make his girlfriend feel good.” View this post on Instagram Meanwhile, other fans agreed with Dubbs’ sentiments, claiming that Ziegler deserved to win more than D’Amelio. “Maddie [Ziegler] and Kenzie walked so TikTok dancers can run,” one Instagram fan wrote, while another user remarked that Tacoda is “not wrong,” in a comment that amassed over 100,000 likes. This is just the latest drama that’s been surrounding Ziegler and her family; Kenzie’s older sister – dancer and actress, Maddie Ziegler – found herself under scrutiny this November after it was announced that she would be playing a non-verbal autistic girl in the movie Music, which is directed by pop star Sia.

Kenzie Ziegler addresses backlash after video of ex-boyfriend saying racial slur resurfaces Instagram: kenzieInfluencer and former Dance Moms star Kenzie Ziegler has addressed backlash against her regarding a video she posted of her ex-boyfriend saying a racial slur, that is resurfacing online again. [jwplayer pNjHVqy4] Mackenzie ‘Kenzie’ Ziegler gained huge amounts of popularity after she appeared on the show Dance Moms alongside her sister Maddie. The show saw the girls compete against other teams in dance competitions, showing all the behind-the-scenes drama. The Ziegler sisters left the show in 2016 to pursue other aspects of their careers, and Kenzie went on to maintain a substantial following on social media, with 15 million followers on Instagram and over 20 million on TikTok. However, Kenzie started receiving some backlash after an old video of her ex-boyfriend Ashton Arbab saying a racial slur started to resurface again online. The video in question appears to be one where Kenzie films him saying a series of expletives, including a racial slur, after which the dancer laughs. Another video is also circulating in which he appears to sing along to a song that features a slur in the lyrics. The videos appear to be several years old, but people still flocked to her social media to ask her about the video in which she featured. Kenzie eventually went live to address the backlash. “Apparently the same video of my ex-boyfriend saying a bad word is resurfacing again, and I’m getting hate for it again,” she began. “What I’m trying to say, when I said I didn’t know what he was saying, was because I genuinely wasn’t listening to what he was saying. Kenzie Ziegler slams “disrespectful” video from Clubhouse boys Instagram: Kenzie / YouTube: Clubhouse BHPopular TikTokker and former Dance Moms star Mackenzie “Kenzie” Ziegler has hit out at Isaak Presley and Sebastian Topete after they posted a “Smash or Pass” video to YouTube rating popular female influencers. Isaak and Sebastian, who are both members of the Clubhouse, an influencer household founded by Daisy Keech and Abby Rao, posted a video to the official Clubhouse YouTube channel where they rated creators including Alex French, Addison Rae, and Kenzie herself, as a “Smash” or “Pass.” Isaak maintained throughout that the game was “clickbait,” and that by “smash” they really meant “we think they’re cute and we’d take them on a date.” Isaak said “please don’t take anything we said too seriously,” but that didn’t stop commenters from airing out their grievances. Isaak was noticeably uncomfortable when asked to rate Kenzie, his ex-girlfriend, and gave her a “pass.” Kenzie commented “jeez” and said, “it’s just disrespectful” under a clip from the video that was posted to Instagram. She then tweeted: “Boys are so disrespectful… I just can’t believe how guys talk about girls on the internet.” On the video itself, one user commented: “This challenge was way too soon. Like Isaak and Kenzie just broke up. I feel so bad for Kenzie” Another user said: “This is so disrespectful talking about girls like this like we’re some objects to judge. • Kendall Monroe and Nessa Barrett copycat drama explained – Dexerto

Kendall Monroe and Nessa Barrett copycat drama explained Instagram: itskendallmonroe, nessabarrettTikToker Kendall Monroe has issued an apology to fellow influencer Nessa Barrett after being accused of copying the ‘La Di Die’ singer to the extreme, but the drama doesn’t end there. TikTok has quite a few famous creators — Charli D’Amelio and Addison Rae chief among them, both of whom boast ‘copycats’ who could be the spitting image of the two stars. TikToker and singer/songwriter Nessa Barrett is the latest creator to get her very own ‘doppelganger’ in fellow influencer Kendall Monroe… but some fans aren’t taking Kendall’s content very positively. Viewers are slamming Kendall on social media, accusing her of copying Nessa Barrett in extreme ways. Did Kendall Monroe copy Nessa Barrett? Fans are convinced that Kendall is copying Nessa, down to her makeup looks, hair, and outfits. Some are even putting their TikTok videos side-by-side, noticing that Kendall seems to have taken some serious inspo from Nessa in her own content. That’s not all; fans also accused Kendall of copying one of Nessa’s tattoos, which she’d gotten with late TikTok star Cooper Noriega, who passed away in June 2022. The duo had gotten two butterflies on their left hands, while Kendall got three on her left hand in a very similar style. In her most recent videos, fans noticed that even her voice sounds like Nessa’s with its signature vocal fry. Kendall Monroe apologizes to Nessa Barrett after copycat backlash Kendall issued a public apology to Nessa amid the backlash, where she claimed that her TikTok account was actually created as an “experiment” to “really see how much hate there was in the world of social media.” “I want to apologize to Nessa because at no time in these past couple of months was it ever my intention to make her uncomfortable in any way,” she said. “…I am not obsessed with Nessa, nor have I ever wanted to be Nessa.” Nessa Barrett lashes out at Kendall Monroe over copycat accusations Nessa took notice of Kendall’s apology and posted a now-deleted comment saying, “Boo, you suck.” She also lashed out at the TikToker in a series of now-deleted videos, where she sarcastically said she was getting “both of my nipples chopped off” and a “tattoo of a baby goat’s butt” on her cheek, as though challenging Kendall to go through with an extreme copycat stunt. “So, just for all the people that copy me, copy me if you dare, b**ch!” she said. “That was rude. Sorry.” Kendall hits back at Nessa Barrett copycat comments Kendall issued her response to Nessa’s biting comments in a series of photos not long after, where she placed a picture of goat on her cheek. “Guys I just woke up, but do you like my new tattoo?” she captioned the pic. Kendall also posted another photo of herself wearing a hoodie, writing: “Also, just got both my nipples chopped off.” She followed up her response with another photo with the word “b**ch,” clearly a shot back at Nessa. Nessa Barrett slams Kendall Monroe for “roleplaying” as her Nessa addressed the drama during a livestream shortly thereafter, where she claimed she was “not putting up” with the “disrespectful remarks” Kendall made, and even accused the TikToker of “roleplaying” as her. “It makes me uncomfortable. It makes me very upset. It makes me angry, but there’s nothing I can do about it. That’s what it is.” This is far from the first time Kendall has been accused of copying Nessa; the TikToker was approached by paparazzi in May after fans took issue with her apparently ‘copying’ Nessa’s Instagram posts — as well as Nessa herself saying her posts made her feel “uncomfy.” For now, it looks like these two creators are still at odds as fans of Nessa continue to fill Kendall’s comments asking her to stop ‘copying’ the singer.

  • Kendall Monroe “takes back” apology to Nessa Barrett amid ‘copycat’ drama – Dexerto

Kendall Monroe “takes back” apology to Nessa Barrett amid ‘copycat’ drama Instagram: nessabarrett / TikTok: kendall.monroeeTikToker Kendall Monroe has officially “taken back” her apology to Nessa Barrett after the two got into some beef due to accusations of Kendall ‘copying’ Nessa’s look and content. Kendall Monroe is a relatively popular TikToker with over 77,000 followers on the video-sharing app. However, she has come under fire over the past few months for allegedly ‘copying’ another popular creator on the platform — influencer and singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett. In the past, Kendall has been accused of copying Nessa Barrett’s style, videos, Instagram pics, and even tattoos, with some fans theorizing that the tattoo she got in memorial of late creator Cooper Noriega was a little too similar to Nessa’s tattoo that she’d gotten with him prior to his passing. Since then, Kendall has apologized to Nessa, saying in a video that she had actually created her TikTok account as an “experiment” to “really see how much hate there was in the world of social media.” “I am not obsessed with Nessa, nor have I ever wanted to be Nessa,” she explained. It doesn’t look like these two are on good terms, though, as Nessa Barrett joked about getting even more tattoos in a pointed callout to Kendall’s butterfly tat. Kendall Monroe rescinds apology to Nessa Barrett That’s not all; Barrett also posted a now-deleted comment on TikTok that read “Boo you suck” — something that Kendall wasn’t too happy about. She hit back at the comment in a now-deleted video, saying that she was “genuinely trying to apologize” to Nessa at the time. That is, until she saw her “boo you suck” comment, which Monroe called a “4th grade response.” So, she officially “took back” her apology, pairing the video with Lily Allen’s song called, ‘F**k You.’ Thus far, Nessa has yet to speak on Kendall’s deleted video — probably because she’s getting ready to release her new album on October 14. This is just the latest drama to come Nessa’s way after she and Mads Lewis had to clear up some fan rumors when they published a string of vague tweets.

Kendall Jenner slammed after staff member holds umbrella for her INSTAGRAM: kendalljennerKendall Jenner is facing backlash on TikTok after photos showed a member of her staff holding an umbrella for her. The model left viewers divided after she was photographed being shielded from the rain by an unidentified male chaperone. In photos obtained by the Sun, Kendall was seen being escorted to and from her car in the midst of a rainstorm, as a man walked beside her holding an umbrella over her head. During the outing, the 27-year-old was dressed casually in black leggings, blue hoodie sweatshirt, and Ugg boots. In one photo, she was seen holding her phone in her hand and car keys in the other, as the member of her staff accompanied her. In another photo, the man appeared to be soaked as a result of not being under the umbrella’s cover, and was again shielding Kendall with an umbrella despite her having both hands free. While Kendall may have enjoyed staying dry during the heavy rain, many fans questioned why the reality star couldn’t hold the umbrella herself. Kendall Jenner faces TikTok backlash “She’s so out of touch it’s actually ridiculous,” one TikTok user commented under a video regarding the controversial photos. “Why can’t she just hold it herself,” another one added. “A decent, kind person would hold their own umbrella so the other person could do the same,” a third wrote. “That’s not right. It doesn’t matter who you are, hold your own f**king umbrella,” another said. Others, however, defended the supermodel on the basis that the man works for her. “I understand but if she’s paying him good I don’t see a problem,” one user wrote. “I mean it’s definitely a weird job but as long as he’s being paid fairly for it then I don’t have a problem,” another shared. At the time of writing, Kendall has not yet addressed the backlash.

  • Kendall Jenner under fire for ‘exploiting Mexican culture’ with new tequila brand – Dexerto

Kendall Jenner under fire for ‘exploiting Mexican culture’ with new tequila brand Instagram: kendalljenner, drink818Kendall Jenner might be one of the most famous A-list celebrities in the world — but she’s facing major backlash after announcing that she’ll be launching her own brand of tequila, called Drink 818. [jwplayer ZXB9LNVP] On Tuesday, February 16, Jenner made the announcement after almost four years of planning, testing, and anonymously entering competitions with their product that Drink 818 would be “coming soon.” 818 is a reference to the 818 area code in California, where Kendall and her famous Jenner-Kardashian family hail from. While the announcement was initially met with a lot of congratulations and celebrations from friends and fans, Kendall is now under fire for ‘exploiting other people’s culture’ with the brand. With a number of people stepping out to defend their Mexican heritage, something about Kendall’s tequila has clearly left a sour taste to some. One commenter, Evelyn, said that the situation is “kind of sad,” saying it’s a perfect example of how “white people just love to exploit other people’s culture and make it their own for profit.” https://twitter.com/nzevelyn_/status/1361900777925582855?s=20 Similarly, Jennie Molena said that “Kendall Jenner starting a tequila brand, with zero knowledge on Mexican culture and calling it ‘818 tequila’ is gentrification.” She also mentioned that the smaller family-owned brands need the “hype & support.” Kendall Jenner starting a tequila brand, with zero knowledge on Mexican culture and calling it “818 tequila” is GENTRIFICATION. The 818 does not claim Calabasas. What about those smaller, family owned Mexican tequila/mezcal brands? They deserve the hype & support. — princesa (@jenjocelyn) February 17, 2021 Offering alternatives, daggervengeance provided a thread of Mexico-owned tequila companies that people could buy from, that aren’t owned by celebrities like Jenner, Dwayne Johnson, or Nick Jonas. https://twitter.com/daggervengeance/status/1361898511265124356?s=20 Of course, it can’t be completely clear what Jenner’s process was when coming up with Drink 818, nor the production of it. The brand’s Instagram page suggests it is hand-crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, though whether it’s directly helping Mexican culture and the Mexican people isn’t clear. Evidently, Kendall will need to prove that she can make a positive contribution to Mexican culture — but whether Drink 818 can turn its detractors into fans remains to be seen.

Palmer claimed that she has security footage from November 5, 2023, that reveals Jackson “trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent” and “threatened” her before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.” Palmer also then claimed that this is just one of “many instances of physical violence” including “destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting [me] in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.” She then stated that her relationship with Jackson “ended for good” in early October of 2023 and that it was “primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted” on her. While the dynamics of the relationship between Palmer and Jackson have been largely kept private until now, instances online have indicated the alleged abuse that Palmer brought forth to court this past week. Back in July, Jackson called out Palmer for her public image, stating that “we live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother of his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is… This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.” Jackson was quick to delete all his social media accounts after users online responded negatively to his comments. Given this is an ongoing story, we’ll be sure to keep you updated when more information on the resolution of the restraining order filing is revealed. After more entertainment news? Earlier this week, Lauren Keyana ‘Keke’ Palmer filed for sole custody and a restraining order against the father of her son, Darius Jackson. The Nope actress claimed Jackson had been abusive over the course of their two-year relationship and that she feared for her safety and for the safety of her child. According to court documents reviewed by People, Palmer has now been granted a temporary restraining order and temporary sole custody with Jackson losing visitation rights. Earlier this week, evidence from the case was shared showing Jackson assaulted Palmer in her own house, throwing her over a couch and choking her. The screenshots were taken from Palmer’s security footage, the actress describing her former boyfriend as “unhinged, volatile, and dangerous.” In another instance of alleged abuse recounted in court documents, Palmer claimed Jackson had gotten “rough” with their eight-month-old son, Leo, while changing his diaper. “I am very concerned for Leo’s safety with Darius given his violent, volatile, and jealous nature, comments he has made which have caused me grave concern, and the lack of restraint Darius has already exhibited regarding his temper in front of our son,” the actress wrote. A hearing is scheduled for December 5 and in the meantime, Jackson must stay 100 yards away from Palmer and their son at all times. The allegations and footage of abuse have caused an uproar online as many flock to support Palmer, calling for more support for domestic violence victims. “If a woman as famous as Keke Palmer can get abused under the radar for over a year, then imagine what it’s like for the countless women who don’t have class, fame, or money to leverage as protection,” one person wrote. “Keke had security footage. Keith Lee’s ‘The Real Milk and Honey’ review goes viral after fans discover bizarre rules TikTok: keith_lee125, NosybystandersKeith Lee’s review of Atlanta, Georgia restaurant ‘The Real Milk and Honey’ went viral on TikTok after his family was refused service and fans discovered the company’s bizarre rules. Over the last year or so, Former MMA fighter Keith Lee has gone insanely viral with his food reviews on TikTok — changing the lives of many restaurant owners in the process. One of his first mega-viral videos brought a huge customer base to Las Vegas pizzeria Frakensons, and has done the same for many people since. On October 27, 2023, Keith Lee posted a video about “The Real Milk and Honey” on TikTok revealing how his family was refused service and the app’s been talking about it since. The Real Milk and Honey goes viral with bizarre rules In his video, Keith revealed that he and his family were in Atlanta, Georgia and were testing out a few local restaurants — including ‘The Real Milk and Honey.’ Unfortunately for his review of the place, he was unable to get food as when he sent his family inside. They were told that the restaurant had closed an hour early for cleaning, although people were still getting their food, and some were even eating inside. As soon as he went into the restaurant, though, they were willing to get him a table immediately. “The people that relayed this message, my family said were really nice. It’s just the rules,” Keith explained. “So far being in Atlanta I found some places have unique rules, and this was one of them.” Shortly after his video was posted, fans were able to find a full list of bizarre rules created by The Real Milk and Honey, and Keith’s video as well as many others went massively viral. TikToker Nosybystander’s video showing them off gained over four million views while Keith’s initial post has been viewed over 16 million times. In her post, she showed the list of 10 house rules at The Real Milk and Honey that includes “No modifications to items” even for those with allergies, a 90 minute limit for dinner, and no parties larger than 4 “on days that end in Y.” Users quickly took to the comments on videos to share their thoughts on the business as well. “The rules so passive aggressive it’s insane,” one user replied while another said: “The allergy rule is wild!” Keith has made it clear in all of his videos — especially this one — that he doesn’t want people to spread hate about the business or review bomb them on Google based on just his experience. As of writing, it appears that hasn’t happened. For more Entertainment news and other viral TikTok stories, head over to check out our coverage.

Keke Palmer tells trolls to “get help” On December 6, Palmer made a series of posts directed at the trolls who targeted her for not wearing makeup. She said, “I just saw a few comments of people saying I was ugly because I wasn’t wearing any makeup. And I really want y’all to get the help y’all need because makeup isn’t real. I’m beautiful in real life, because of who I am, not what I look like.” “I wish I could bottle how I feel about myself and sell it. Because some people take comments to heart and these ppl just say anything. I mean truly it’s insane to say anyone is ugly, but especially me.” Clearly, Keke had no problem hitting back at people online who would attack her for the ‘crime’ of not wearing makeup. While she believes it’s ridiculous that people would call anybody ugly, she was even more shocked when trolls actually claimed she wasn’t beautiful.

Keith Lee responds to claims he stole disguise idea from TV producer TikTok: Keith_lee125,GylliWilli_Popular TikTok food critic Keith Lee has responded to claims that he stole the idea to use a disguise when picking up food from a TV producer that approached him in the past. Over the last few months, Keith Lee has taken TikTok by storm with his reviews of food from restaurants around Las Vegas, where he resides. Focusing on “struggling” restaurants around the area, his videos have boosted the business of many local food stops in Las Vegas, with his most viral so far being Frankenson’s Pizza. In his most recent video, Keith has responded to claims that he stole the idea to use a disguise when picking up food from a TV producer that approached him with the idea last year. TV Producer claims unnamed food critic “stole” her idea On January 22, A TikToker by the name ‘GylliWilli’ posted a video saying that she is a freelance TV producer that approached an unnamed content creator with a TV show idea. They said no, but “stole” the idea and are allegedly doing it anyway. GylliWilli posted the hashtag #FoodCriticAndThief in the description, and fans quickly began questioning whether she was talking about Keith. Keith Lee responds to GylliWilli video Keith Lee responded the next day, clearing the air regarding the situation. “There’s some unnamed controversy going around and I keep getting brought up, and I had an interaction with the person that made this video so let’s talk about it,” he said before showing a clip of the original video. “As an Emmy award-winning producer, I would assume you know how dangerous labels — especially false labels — can be in the industry or in life in general[…] For me personally, that is extremely detrimental and I don’t like that. I don’t play with that.” He went on to explain that he replied to her after she left a comment on one of his videos, and revealed he had several other meetings before and after his meeting with her that all pitched the same idea. The pitch involved Keith dressing up in a disguise, going to pick up his food, and reviewing it just like he has been. He added: “I had anywhere between two million and three million followers at the time she reached out to me, of course, I wasn’t in disguise at that point. I personally was able to walk into restaurants and be treated the exact same, because not a lot of restaurants recognized me. Now, with 9.6 million followers it’s almost impossible, that’s why I [started] going into disguise.” Keith also made it clear that he’s also using it as a way to show how talented his sister is in regard to making his disguises, and hopes she might get the ability to do it full-time one day. He finished off his video by making it clear he didn’t start using a disguise because of his interaction with the TikToker and that he doesn’t appreciate her accusations. GylliWilli claims video wasn’t about Keith Lee GylliWilli responded to Keith’s video on January 24, making it clear she’s not going to apologize for being frustrated and that she might “fight” for her idea, but that her video wasn’t about Keith in the first place.
