One such account was that of Corpse Husband, a YouTuber who has been on the platform for a few years, but experienced an unprecedented surge in popularity this year following the Among Us hype. But not everyone was celebrating, as among the chaos of fans and creators rejoicing at their new-found verification, some big names were left behind. Shortly after the accusations were made towards Inquisitor Ghost, he started a TikTok live, where it’s speculated that he took his own life. However, no official documentation has yet come forward confirming his death. Since news of this live stream surfaced, his TikTok account can no longer be accessed. There is speculation that this is due to TikTok’s guidelines surrounding certain topics; however, others suspect the account could have been potentially removed by a friend or family member. Inquisitor Ghost’s Instagram account has also disappeared following the incident. Inquisitor Ghost operator skin petition surpasses 33,000 signatures Before his alleged death, Inquisitor Ghost expressed interest in getting his very own operator skin in Call of Duty. After significant backlash, CEO Susan Wojcicki said that they had “missed the mark” with the change, and the removal of verification badges was reverted on September 20. PewDiePie’s channel did not lose verification, at least on desktop, but fans later noticed that on mobile he had no badge. YouTube stated in a Tweet that “the checkmark has never appeared on mobile pages” and that it would be added soon, but it was pointed out that some YouTubers, including James Charles, did, in fact, have a verified tick on mobile, when they are searched for. Another popular YouTuber, Shane Dawson, also has a verified badge when searched for on YouTube mobile. The lack of a verified badge next to PewDiePie’s name on mobile immediately sparked backlash, as users were perhaps unaware that the verified tick is often not displayed on mobile anyway. Streamer trolls viewers with break-in hoax YouTuber ‘Bagietka Michael‘ was streaming Minecraft on the video-hosting platform when thirty minutes into the broadcast, he looked up to a loud noise to the right of the screen. A man was then seen to emerge from behind him, who then pushed the streamer into another man to the right. Screams and other inaudible noises were soon heard as the streamer was thrown onto the bed, where one of the men hit him before a struggle ensued between the online personality and his assailant. The group of four men were all wearing masks of sorts that obscured their faces. As the attack went on, the Minecraft streamer was then dragged off the bed by his leg, where he hit the floor before the group of men each grabbed a part of his body, and lifted and carried him out of the room against his will. Now, yet another viral social media trend has taken a young life, sparking outrage among netizens who are urging companies to take action. 11-year-old boy dies after attempting viral “chroming” TikTok challenge 11-year-old Tommie-lee Gracie Billington died on Saturday, March 2, after allegedly taking part in a popular social media trend called “chroming.” “Chroming” refers to the act of inhaling aerosol, spray paint, or other toxic fumes to get a ‘high.’ The term originated in Australia as a slang word and has been around for some time, but has gained a newfound popularity thanks to social media platforms. The boy’s grandmother, Tina Burns, claims he “died instantly” at a sleepover, where he and some friends decided to try out “chroming” after seeing it online. A Lancashire Police policeman claimed that Billington was found unresponsive at the scene in Greenset Close, Lancaster. The child was later taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Now, the boy’s family is hoping to raise awareness about these dangerous social media challenges in hopes to reduce more fatalities. “Both our families are utterly devastated, but we all want the same thing,” Burns said in a statement to the Lancashire Post. “We don’t want any other children to follow TikTok or be on social media.” “In fact, we want to get TikTok taken down, and no children to be allowed on any social media under 16 years of age. One family found this out the hard way during their September 12 stream when their lighthearted documentation of their time in the city together was rudely interrupted by an unexpected thief. When IRL streams go wrong The family were on a walk together as they explored the city and decided to document the outing by streaming the whole thing, with each of them talking to the camera at various points as they happily enjoyed the moment, before taking a quick pause to pose together. As they were taking the group shot, out of nowhere a thief on a motorbike snatched the phone from out of one of the family members’ hands, without realizing that the device was still streaming as he took off with the stolen item. The stream jarringly bounced around as the thief maneuvered the bike’s handlebars while holding the phone, before the video eventually cut short after the device was switched off. Unfortunately, the thief’s face was never shown as it cut out before he looked at the screen, leaving the family no closer to getting their property back. During a broadcast on June 24, Twitch personality Brien ‘DailyDasher’ Bry was left shocked after somebody attempted to steal his property. Fortunately for him, the stranger failed at their attempt to steal his phone after two bystanders warned the streamer seconds before by yelling at him, which caused him to turn around. However, on August 30, 2023, Fox13 reported that “8 Passengers” mother Ruby Franke was arrested, along with Jodi Hildebrandt, founder of the parent counseling service ConneXions, for two counts of aggravated child abuse. Franke is currently listed on the Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s website as “in custody” after being arrested at 9:33 p.m. on August 30 in Springville, Utah. She was one of the main contributors to her family channel. 8 Passengers, and gained fame by sharing family videos that showcased the day-to-day life of the family. 8 Passengers was a YouTube vlogging channel. Its founders were Ruby and Kevin Franke, a Mormon couple with six children – Shari, Chad, Abby, Julie, Russell, and Eve. The channel at its peak had around 2.5 million subscribers, however, things took a turn in 2020 after a series of allegations raised concerns among the fanbase. In one deleted video, the couple’s 15-year-old son revealed he had been forced to sleep on the floor in the family room for 7 months after pulling a prank on his younger brother. Investigative YouTube channels then started looking through other historical content the Franke’s had uploaded and found what they believed to be more evidence. In one video, Franke said she wouldn’t bring a packed lunch in for her daughter Eve, who was just 6 years old at the time, because the child forgot to pick it up before school. This led to allegations that Franke was starving her daughter. The Frankes continued posting videos on their channel for a while, but they couldn’t shake the allegations. Uploads became more sporadic until they ceased altogether. The channel has now been removed.

After hearing of the extra charges the family was expected to pay, the internet has reacted to the many “red flags” of the eatery. Restaurant owner told families they “belonged at Burger King” Lyndsey Landmann and her husband recently dined at the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia, with four couples and 11 children. Though Landmann thought it was a joke, she told Today, “No way this is real,” as she and her husband were charged $50 for having children that were “too loud.” Landmann further explained that the owner of the restaurant had come over to her table after the bill was given. They then showed that the menu had the charge in writing so patrons could be prepared to pay it. Though the owner made a scene, Landmann had actually thought he was approaching her to compliment how “well-behaved” all the children were, as she had even stopped during the meal to express how good all the youngsters were being. A picture of the menu was also added to Reddit, where it asks for “$$$” for “adults unable to parent.” Also, the menu includes a $3 fee to share meals and a 20% gratuity to split checks. Those who have heard Landmann’s story took to Reddit to side with her. “From the laundry list of extra charges they have, this just seems like a restaurant that uses any excuse it can to gouge customers more.” “This is not a restaurant I would return to with all those conditions. For God’s sake, they are in the customer service business.” Another viewer also commented that the restaurant charged at least 20% gratuity for those who used the birthday menu, asking, “What kind of restaurant charges someone MORE on their birthday?” Landmann never confirmed if she’d go back to Toccoa Riverside Restaurant. However, she did explain how the owner told them they “belonged at Burger King” in front of a slew of diners who were quietly just as shocked.
