Destiny 2 resurrected after being hit offline for 20 hours amid onslaught of critical bugs BungieDestiny 2 is back online once again after an onslaught of critical bugs with player progression forced the live-service FPS MMO to go dark for almost a full day. Bungie has not been on the breaks for Destiny 2 of late, speeding full steam ahead by making big changes before the major Lightfall expansion drops on February 28th. These changes were absolutely fantastic for the game’s quality of life, and players have rejoiced with removing blue engrams across the board. However, with all these changes Bungie has been implementing into the game, it was only a matter of time before the breaks eventually snapped. Several bugs were found involving the player’s titles, seals, and catalyst progression, all incredibly important features that can take several days of gameplay to complete. As a result, Bungie took the game offline on January 24 and performed a rollback to the game’s servers, which meant several hours of downtime in order to protect all player progression. Fortunately, after 20 hours of downtime, Bungie found Destiny 2’s ghost and was able to revive the game allowing Destiny 2 players to get right back on the grind. Bungie explained in their Twitter post just how the events transpired, with their reasoning as to why it occurred and why they made their decision to take the game offline and perform a rollback. Ultimately, it boiled down to “game stability” as their “top priority.” In light of the issues, devs decided it best to take the game down to “protect player’s progress” while they worked on a fix. Bungie’s diligence and transparency whilst handling the situation led to praise from all sorts of community members and streamers alike. We’ve yet to see the Destiny 2 servers go down again as of the current moment, but let’s hope Bungie won’t need to revive the game again anytime soon before Lightfall arrives.

Destiny 2 report hints at smaller “content packs” moving forward & Guardians are terrified – Dexerto
Destiny 2 report hints at smaller “content packs” moving forward & Guardians are terrified BungieA new report for Destiny 2 has hinted that the game will replace its current content drops with smaller “content packs” moving forward after 17% of Bungie staff were laid off, leaving Guardians terrified for the future of the looter shooter. The future of Destiny 2 is currently up in the air after developers Bungie reported that 17% of its staff were laid off. The news shocked the player base, with many riled up asking CEO Pete Parsons to step down from his role at the company. For Destiny 2 players, the hits don’t stop there, as a new report has pointed to the cancellation of Destiny 3, or what could have been D3 in the form of its associated spinoff titled Payback. This essentially leaves the player base with just Destiny 2 and its predecessor. However, another new report has suggested that Destiny 2 isn’t safe from the changes as well, as it’s hinted that content going forward in the looter shooter will be significantly downgraded. The report, made by credible insider Jeff Grubb, claimed that Destiny 2 will be making a departure from the larger expansions we’ve come to know. Instead, the looter shooter will allegedly see smaller pieces of content, internally referred to as “content packs”, which will be far more streamlined and less intensive for the developers. “When it comes to Destiny 2, the expectation internally is that the future content will be lighter, smaller, to take less time than what The Final Shape did, and require fewer people,” Grubb explained on Game Mess Morning. According to further leaks from the Destiny 2 leaks Discord server, this will take the form of two DLCs and two seasons per year, each of which lasts six months. There won’t be any more week-to-week story, instead a single introductory mission explaining the season. The seasonal loop will still have activities that you need to complete, which will earn you seasonal gear to use during the Rally Event. This new event will happen twice each season, and you’ll only be able to use seasonal weapons and armor during them. This will be a week-long event that will showcase new activities, including a ramped-up version of the seasonal activity with better rewards. As you can expect, the news has left the player base terrified for the future with many claiming the title is just “dead”. “The beginning of the end. Been a fun 10 years,” one player announced. “I try to be optimistic, but it’s not looking good at all,” another agreed. It’s worth noting that Bungie has not yet confirmed any of these leaks, so take them with a grain of salt.

Destiny 2 reissuing iconic weapons is great but they’ll never feel the same – Dexerto
Destiny 2 reissuing iconic weapons is great but they’ll never feel the same BungieDestiny 2 is bringing back some of the game’s most iconic weapons with the Into the Light update, but will they actually be able to capture their former glory? Earlier this week we saw Destiny 2 Into the Light, a free update coming to the game before Lightfall, fully revealed. While the big marquee addition is going to be the Horde-mode inspired Onslaught, for veteran players, another will have caught the eye. In the gameplay showcased by Bungie and from subsequent assets, we’ve seen fan-favorite weapons of old being used by Guardians. Midnight Coup, Blast Furnace, and Falling Guilotine have been shown off, and there’s been speculation regarding the return of Luna’s Howl, Hammerhead, and even arguably the game’s best-ever weapon – the Recluse. Of course, there’s something warm and fuzzy about seeing these weapons back. Pulling out a gun you have a lot of memories with is just a nice feeling. Popping an alien with a headshot from a long-time favorite is what Destiny 2’s all about. But even with sunsetting in Beyond Light, that was so long ago that many vaults are once again bursting with top-tier options. Our arsenals have grown bigger than ever and crucially, we can craft perfect rolls now. Our guns are so well rounded and perfected, that the only way to really make returning guns matter in the same way again is making them game-breaking. These older guns were exceptional because, at their respective times, they were best in slot and defined the meta – but we have a far more homogenized arsenal now. It’s hard to make returning guns really stand out. I know this because it happened to me earlier this year. In Season of the Deep, Spare Rations came back. It’s my favorite primary ever. Yet, I’ve not once taken out the new Spare Rations. Granted, the reissue came with some disappointing perks, but a Rapid Hit/Kill Clip Spare Rations just isn’t going to move the needle when I have my Calus’ Mini-Tool that synergizes so effectively with my Solar Warlock build. That’s not to say some of these reissues could be better than currently available guns. But, even if some excel, it’s hard to see these recapturing their old aura. The Recluse could get reissued, even with Master of Arms (you actually can pull this from collections now – and it’s still not great in content where you can still run it), will it do anything to the meta? Is it actually going to revlutionize my builds against a perfectly rolled PvE Funnelweb? It might be a tiny bit better, but will it be enough to actually be meaningful? In Destiny 2, we deal in centimeters, not feet. The ugly truth none of us want to admit is that we put a lot of time into chasing weapons to get god rolls, and either they’re tossed into our vault soon after acheiving them never to be used again, or they improve our Boss Damage by 0.05%. Of course, the weapons returning are a net postive. Having a Midnight Coup back in my hands and relevant will be great, and I’ll love chasing after a decent roll. That said, for those looking to get these once meta-defining weapons, just keep your expectations of them feeling as special as they used to in check.

All Destiny 2 Raids & Dungeons in release order – Dexerto
All Destiny 2 Raids & Dungeons in release order BungieDestiny 2 offers a wide range of Raids and Dungeons that task players to overcome complex encounters and puzzles to claim their unique loot. Often considered the pinnacle of end-game PvE, Raids are a six-player cooperative activity that sees players tackle a series of encounters, culminating in a final boss fight, typically requiring a range of mechanics to overcome. Raids not only reward some of the best Exotic Weapons but also Destiny’s most exciting encounters, offering a mix of puzzles, DPS checks, and platforming sections that’ll test even the most skilled Guardians. Dungeons, on the other hand, are like mini-raids but for three players. These were introduced with Forsaken, and once you get the mechanics of each down, they are a great alternative to running Strikes and Nightfalls. Each week there’s a different featured Dungeon and Raid, with that rotation determining which you can farm right now. All Raids in Destiny 2 Here’s every Raid available right now, with the latest addition being Salvation’s Edge in Season 24: *Reprised Raid that originally appeared in Destiny 1. Last Wish Location: The Dreaming City – Release Date: September 14, 2018 – DLC: Forsaken – Available as part of the Forsaken Pack, Last Wish has a hefty runtime but features a load of memorable encounters. Players take on a corrupted Awoken, a Taken Spirekeeper, and get their first glimpse of an Ahamkara. Not only is the One Thousand Voices Exotic available from this Raid, but its loot pool was reissued in Season 21 to feature some top-tier weapons, including Chattering Bone, The Supremacy, and Apex Predator. Garden of Salvation Location: Moon – Release Date: October 5, 2019 – DLC: Shadowkeep – Players hadn’t been to the Black Garden since Destiny 1’s campaign, but Garden of Salvation took them back to the mysterious, Darkness-laden setting to battle the Vex again. Garden of Salvation is one of the most challenging Raids currently in the game, but it’s a great time with a group of friends when it’s in the rotation. As for loot, Divinity is the standout reward in this Raid, with the Exotic Trace Rifle being one of the best support weapons in Destiny 2. Unfortunately, the regular loot has been powercrept, which can make getting a team together for this Raid fairly difficult. Deep Stone Crypt Location: Europa – Release Date: November 21, 2020 – DLC: Beyond Light – Deep Stone Crypt sees players head into an orbital space station that they then crash into the surface of Europa, leading to an epic battle with Taniks The Abomination. Succeed, and you’ll get the chance to earn Eyes of Tomorrow, an Exotic Rocket Launcher with sensational tracking capabilities. This is one of the most fun and beginner-friendly raids in the game, and it features the now iconic Space Walk. If you are looking for your first Raid, this is highly recommended, especially as it still offers some great loot with the likes of Succession, Heritage, and Commemoration all being available. Vault of Glass Location: Legends – Release Date: May 22, 2021 – DLC: Beyond Light – Vault of Glass was Destiny’s first-ever Raid, and it still holds up all of these years later. As it did in 2014, this classic Raid takes players to Venus to prevent the Vex from hopping across timelines, culminating in a final boss battle against Atheon. It remains a great introduction to Raids, and it’s free to play too. While Vault of Glass’ loot table isn’t too great, it does have some standouts that make farming it worthwhile. These include the Vex Mythoclast Exotic, Corrective Measure, Vision of Confluence, and the ever-iconic Fatebringer. Vow of the Disciple Location: Savathun’s Throne World – Release Date: March 5, 2022 – DLC: The Witch Queen – The Witch Queen expansion added the Vow of the Disciple raid, which takes place on Savathun’s Throne World and sees players explore the inside of a huge pyramid ship. It’s a great raid – some might even argue the best – with a memorable boss encounter against Rhulk. This Raid is absolutely stacked when it comes to loot too, with Deliverance, Cataclysmic, and Forbearance all being meta weapons. Those who enjoy using Pulse Rifles will want to pick up Collective Obligation too, with the Exotic being a solid option for Void builds. King’s Fall Location: Legends – Release Date: September 18, 2022 – DLC: The Witch Queen – Season of Plunder saw the revival of perhaps the most iconic raid in the franchise’s history, King’s Fall. In it, players travel to Oryx’s Dreadnaught and battle the Taken King himself. Between Golgoroth, the Warpriest, and Oryx, there are plenty of fun encounters, and everyone can try it out since this is a free to play Raid. Despite being free to play, King’s Fall has some great loot, including Defiance of Yasmin, Qullim’s Terminus, and Zaouli’s Bane. By defeating Oryx, you can also get the Touch of Malice, an unusual Exotic Scout Rifle that uses the wielder’s lifeforce as ammo. The Root of Nightmares Location: Neomuna – Release Date: March 10, 2023 – DLC: Lightfall – Root of Nightmares sees Guardians enter a pyramid ship to investigate the resurrection of an all too familiar entity, Nezarec. The raid is absolutely mesmerizing and is visually nothing like we’ve seen in Destiny 2 before, making it a must play experience. It is a relatively easy Raid too, so it’s nice and easy to farm for the meta weapons on offer. This includes the exceptional Exotic that is Conditional Finality, which has dominated PvP since it was released, as well as Rufus’s Fury, Acasia’s Dejection, and Briar’s Contempt, all of which are great options. Crota’s End Location: Legends – Release Date: September 1, 2023 – DLC: Lightfall – Having originally appeared back in Destiny 1, Crotas’ End was reprised in Lightfall, bringing back a classic Raid with all kinds of twists. Most notably, a new buff juggling mechanic has been added that you’ll need to master to clear every encounter that requires perfect communication with your team. You’ll want to farm this Raid too, as Nechochasm is one of the best add-clear Exotics in the game. Equally, Legendary weapons like Song of Ir Yut, Abyss Defiant, and Word of Crota are all best-in-class in their respective roles. Salvation’s Edge Location: The Pale Heart – Release Date: June 7, 2024 – DLC: The Final Shape – The entirety of Destiny’s story led to this Raid, where Guardians finally get to confront the Witness. It’s a race against the universe’s greatest evil, which wants to create the final shape, freezing all life for the rest of time. Your task? Stop it and destroy the Darkness once and for all. For those who aren’t into lore, you’ll be more interested in this Raid’s loot, which includes the rather excellent Euphony, just one of three Special Linear Fusion Rifles in the sandbox. There’s also a bow that gets Voltshot, a Pulse rifle with ludircrous DPS, and a Sword with a really funny name. This Raid has truly got it all. All Dungeons in Destiny 2 Here’s every Dungeon available right now, with the latest addition being Warlord’s Ruin in Season 23: The Shattered Throne Location: The Dreaming City – Release Date: September 25, 2018 – DLC: Forsaken – Destiny 2’s first Dungeon offers a trip to the Ascendant Realm to battle Savathun’s daughter. It’s not the toughest activity, but that does make it ideal for Dungeon newcomers, and the addition of the Wish-Ender Exotic quest certainly adds to its longevity, giving New Light good reason to visit. The rest of this Dungeon’s loot was reissued in Season 23. While this wasn’t quite as impactful as some other loot refreshes, the likes of Retold Tale, Vouchsafe, and Waking Vigil all have their uses. Pit of Heresy Location: Moon – Release Date: October 29, 2019 – DLC: Shadowkeep – Pit of Heresy takes place on the Moon and pits players against Zulmak. The Hive-themed Dungeon is essential for the Xenophage quest, but it’s fun in its own right too, with Crota’s daughters even making an appearance. It’s a genuinely great Dungeon, especially if you love the Hive, or more specifically, killing the Hive. Unfortunately, Pit of Heresy has not aged well, with its loot being very poor these days. In the future, Bungie may refresh its loot or even make it craftable, but until then, there’s not much reason to complete it more than once. Prophecy Location: Legends – Release Date: June 9, 2020 – DLC: Shadowkeep – Prophecy is one of Destiny’s most memorable Dungeons, thanks to its colorful aesthetic. It’s set in the realm of The Nine and features a recurring mote mechanic where players need to be mindful of where they’re standing. It also has a Sparrow section set on a fabric-like pathway where the slightest wrong move can spell doom, though the Skimmer does somewhat trivalize that these days. Despite being an older Dungeon, Prophecy’s loot is actually great, as it was refreshed in Season 23. Thanks to these weapons getting refreshed, the likes of Prosecutor, Darkest Before, and Adjudicator are all exceptional options that you’ll want to farm god rolls for. Grasp of Avarice Location: Cosmodrome – Release Date: December 7, 2021 – DLC: Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack – A treasure-filled dive into the first game’s infamous Loot Cave, Grasp of Avarice. Full of booby traps, exploding engrams, and a challenging Sparrow section that has you racing against time, this is Bungie’s ultimate tribute to long-serving Guardians. It doesn’t hurt that completing Grasp of Avarice is part of the Gjallarhorn quest, meaning finishing it will get you closer to owning the franchise’s most iconic rocket launcher. Also, Matador 64 can be farmed here, which happens to be one of the most dominant PvP weapons of all time. Duality Location: Moon – Release Date: May 27, 2022 – DLC: The Witch Queen – Duality is a wild Dungeon, with players infiltrating Emperor Calus’ consciousness to find what secrets he is hiding. Inside, you’ll find that Calus is split between Light and Darkness, meaning you’ll navigate through two separate realms in the same space. The final encounter against Caiatl’s Nightmare can be a little maddening on higher difficulties, but with weapons like the Exotic Heartshadow sword up for grabs, it’s worth persevering. If Swords aren’t your thing, Stormchaser, Unforgiven, and Fixed Odds are all great weapons too. Spire of the Watcher Location: Savathun’s Throne World – Release Date: December 9, 2022 – DLC: The Witch Queen – The Vex are back at it again, this time taking over the Ares Spire on Mars, hoping to stop the Vanguard’s plan to rebuild the Warmind. Naturally, that’s a problem you’ll have to deal with, but there are plenty of reasons why you should care beyond the story. Sure, Terminus Horizon is great, and Hierachy of Needs is a damn powerful Exotic, but really, you just want the cowboy clothes for each class. Regardless of whether you are a space magician, one punch man, or a slick assassin, there’s never a time where a cowboy hat isn’t fashionable. Ghosts of the Deep Location: Legends – Release Date: May 26, 2023 – DLC: Lightfall – Those wanting a challenge from their Dungeons will love Ghosts of the Deep, which is by far the most difficult Dungeon ever made. The challenge is worthwhile, though, as this place is beautiful, letting Guardians delve into the oceans of Titan in pursuit of powerful loot. It certainly delivers too, with No Survivors, Cold Comfort, and New Pacific Epitaph all being among the best weapons of their respective elements. Equally, this Dungeon’s Exotic – The Navigator – single-handedly made Strand Titans the best DPS class in the game, and it remains a powerful combination to this day. Warlord’s Ruin Location: EDZ – Release Date: December 1, 2023 – DLC: Lightfall – The Taken have overrun a Dark Age castle in the EDZ, which looks to be getting out of hand. It’s on you to head over and shut down the operation, but don’t be surprised if the Taken’s most powerful combatants have something else planned. Loot-wise, you’ll want to primarily hunt two weapons here: Buried Bloodline and Indebted Kindness. These rocket pistols are incredibly strong and a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their loadouts. To beat these Dungeons and Raids, you’ll need the best PvE weapons possible, as well as optimized Hunter builds, Titan builds, and Warlock builds. Having all of these will make completing encounters much easier and even open up the possibility of Soloing Dungeons for skilled players.

Destiny 2 Raid sniper will be a Champion-stunning monster in Echoes Act 2 – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Raid sniper will be a Champion-stunning monster in Echoes Act 2 BungieBungie’s reveal of new content coming to Destiny 2 in Episode: Echoes Act 2 has been a huge win for sniper rifle enthusiasts, with huge buffs on the way. Outside of absurdly powerful outliers like Still Hunt, snipers have lacked viability in PvE for some time. While their theoretical damage is fantastic for a special ammo weapon, it can often be hard to utilize them due to flinch and the difficulties of dealing consistent precision damage. Clearly, Bungie had been keenly aware of those poor fortunes, as buffs aplenty are inbound with Echoes Act 2, and one Legendary marksman rifle is already looking like a frontrunner to dominate the PvE meta. As pointed out by one user on Reddit, Stasis sniper Critical Anomaly – available from The Final Shape‘s Salvation’s Edge Raid – has access to a perk capable of stunning both Unstoppable and Overload Champions. “Chill Clip will Slow on the first shot, Freeze on the second, and Shatter on the third,” the thread’s author explains. As the Slow debuff stuns Overload Champions and Shatter does the same to Unstoppable Champions. That covers two bases, but what about Barrier Champions? Cue the addition of three new sniper-centric Artifact mods releasing in Act 2: Anti-Barrier Sniper – Incendiary Rifle Rounds – Precision Solar sniper hits Scorch targets. – Sniper’s Meditation – Sniper hits grant a stacking bonus to sniper damage, stability, and reload speed. – “Lord have mercy I’m about to bust,” came one excitable response to Critical Anomaly’s predicted meta ascent, while others lamented that they have yet to unlock the ability to craft it, “I still need that Pattern damn it. Was the last I was going to get, too.” As only Chill Clip is necessary for Critical Anomaly to function as a Champion-killing machine, the fourth perk column is free to be used however you wish. For PvE purposes, it’s recommended to use tried and true damage-boosting options like Bait and Switch or Chaos Reshaped.

Destiny 2 Raid Exotic’s “huge” hidden perk makes it even better – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Raid Exotic’s “huge” hidden perk makes it even better BungieDestiny 2 players have discovered the existence of a hidden perk on a popular Raid Exotic introduced in The Final Shape. Euphony, the headline Exotic drop from Salvation’s Edge, is a Linear Fusion Rifle that boasts several special traits that help it stand out. Namely, it’s a Kinetic weapon that uses Special ammo and therefore, unlike most LFRs, is equipped in the top slot rather than the Power slot. Discussing the gun’s undocumented seventh perk on Reddit, one user pointed out the oddity, “Euphony has a hidden perk. Hatchling! Every precision kill creates a single Threadling.” They continued, “This is on top of the Unwound perk which states that it creates Threadlings on sustained damage. These two perks work together, meaning that if your sustained damage also ends with a precision final blow, you’ll create one more Threadling than you typically would.” For context, all of the listed perks for Euphony are as follows, with Threadling not included: Arrowhead Brake – +21 Recoil, +10 Handling – Particle Repeater – +10 Stability – Unwound – Dealing sustained damage with this weapon spawns Threadlings at your target’s location. – Spindle – Threadling damage increases this weapon’s damage. – Short-Action Stock – +15 Handling – “Oh sh*t that’s huge! I never noticed that! I gotta go try it out again,” read one excitable response, while another said they had already suspected Hatchling was present, “I figured it had a hidden perk when it sh*t out four Threadlings from one kill on a red bar.” Euphony has proven to be a strong weapon for Strand builds, and especially Warlocks who can capitalize on Threadling synergy to a greater degree than Hunters or Titans. Hatchling changes the gameplay loop for anyone already using the weapon, and players should now be going for precision kills where possible. While both rapid and precision final blows proc the perk, Euphony being an LFR means you’ll want to prioritize the latter to maximize damage output. If you’re yet to hit the jackpot with Salvation’s Edge’s rarest drop, there are plenty of other alternatives for Strand builds and the wider meta. Grown tired of using The Call? Check out our breakdown of the best meta guns in The Final Shape.

Destiny 2 Race for Crota’s End World First: Did Elysium get their 4th belt? – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Race for Crota’s End World First: Did Elysium get their 4th belt? Twitter: DestinyTheGameElysium won the race for the world first Destiny 2 Crota’s End completion, making it the fourth world first belt that the team has won. Destiny 2 features new raids and “reprised raids” that Bungie brought back from the first game, Destiny 1. Kings Fall and Vault of Glass were the only reprised raids in the game – until September 1, when Bungie reintroduced Crota’s End. Crota’s End was notorious in Destiny 1 as the easiest raid in the game, with some calling it a “strike”, and others being able to solo the entire raid. But on September 1 Bungie released a revamped Crota’s End that teams battled over many hours for the title of first completion. Elysium made good Crota’s End start and didn’t let up To achieve the World First completion for reprised raids, teams must complete first the contest mode of the raid, and then complete the raid again in challenge mode. In Destiny 2 Crota’s End, like every other raid, contest mode capped Guardian’s power level to force them to focus on the mechanics. Completing the raid a second time in challenge mode not only requires mastery of the mechanics but makes teams complete each encounter in a specific way, abiding by the “challenge” rules. As the clock ticked over to 10:01 AM PT teams readied up and loaded into Crota’s End and the race began. Immediately teams noticed something different to the raid. From the onset, Guardians are given a Chalice of Light buff that must be passed around. Hold on too long and players would perish. Teams were neck and neck at this point, with Elysium and fan-favorite raid team ATP both waiting eagerly as they built the bridge to descend into the next encounter. Saltagreppo and the Elysium squad managed to get through the lamps encounter relatively easily, working their way past the infamous bridge/sword encounter and up to the penultimate Deathsinger battle. At this point they had built a slight lead – but it was only slight, and the Deathsinger encounter was proving initially troublesome. But as expected of a 3x Champions team “Elysium” they soon made it past Ir Yut and onto the final boss – Crota himself. Swords for the Sword-Wielding Boss Crota blew all the previous encounters out of the water. The boss combined all the previous mechanics of the raid together with a humongous health pool that had teams questioning their strategies. But Elysium wasn’t going to let the massive health pool phase them. Switching up their DPS tactic, Elysium adopted a Tractor Canon and five Lament DPS approach. A few more attempts later, they were the first team to complete Destiny Crota’s End in contest mode. Other teams continued to struggle on Crota, and by the time other teams had defeated the contest mode Crota fight, Elysium and Saltagreppo had already made it to Challenge mode Crota. And they needed every second of the lead they earned themselves. Destiny 2 Crota’s End: A photo finish Elysium were smiling and laughing as they reached the final hurdle between them and Crota’s End. But Crota had other ideas than going down easily. The challenge ruleset wiped Satlagreppo’s team before they even got to the Crota damage phase. Then it wiped them again. And again. And again. Minutes then hours passed and suddenly the Elysium team wasn’t smiling anymore. They were now in second place, behind another team. However, they weren’t going to go down without a fight. A heroic performance later, speedrunning to get Crota’s shield down, blasting away at the sword-wielding behemoth, and they’d done it. And not a second too soon, beating the team that was ahead of them by 1 minute and 5 seconds. Fans issued huge congratulations to Elysium and Saltagreppo for the world first, adding a fourth belt to their collection. The team also earned themselves the Necrochasm, which Dexerto has a guide for if you’re interested in getting the Destiny 2 Hive Exotic gun.

Destiny 2 PVP players reach breaking point as Bungie stays silent on Stasis balancing – Dexerto
Destiny 2 PVP players reach breaking point as Bungie stays silent on Stasis balancing BungieDestiny 2’s PVP community finally reached a breaking point when Bungie remained silent after overwhelming fan condemnation for the lack of any meaningful balance changes to “overpowered” Stasis abilities in the Crucible. Destiny 2’s fourteenth season, Season of the Splicer, released to high praise from the game’s community due to its new seasonal activities and weapons, interesting story beats, and excitement over the return of iconic Destiny 1 content in the Vault of Glass Raid. Despite its many highlights, opinion from the PVP side of the game’s community quickly soured, and soon snowballed from simple frustration into all-out indignation and open rebellion from a part of the community that feels they’ve been neglected by Bungie for the last two years. Season of the Splicer changes push PVP players over the edge In Season of the Splicer, Bungie introduced new Stasis aspects — ways to customize the game’s three Darkness-based subclasses. Yet, despite previous commitments to reining in these overpowered abilities in PVP, the new aspects broke their balancing more than ever in the Crucible. The community was quick to point out that Revenant Hunters, already one of the most oppressive and powerful subclasses in PVP, received major buffs that now made them even deadlier than before — the exact opposite of the nerfs that players had been begging for. Stasis is even more Broken now.. YAAYY (New hunter aspect) pic.twitter.com/hIcWW7nvkj — ZkMushroom (@ZkMushroom) May 12, 2021 When it became clear that Stasis balancing had taken a step in the wrong direction, PVP players quickly and overwhelmingly called out Bungie’s misstep, and the hashtag ‘Nerf Stasis’ trended across gaming Twitter as the community came out in droves to express their frustration. Dozens of content creators and thousands of players organized the most coordinated pushback against Stasis since its release. Virtually all of the top PVP players chimed in, with a singular piece of feedback across the board: if Stasis remained unchanged, it would ruin PVP in Destiny 2 completely. New aspects that ship broken are one thing, but what makes it so much harder to stomach is the continual neglect of any communication regarding PvP’s vision outside of balancing intentions. The silence is deafening, and we are once again compelled to scream into this void. — Nomad 🇮🇪 (@AscendantNomad) May 13, 2021 While many were hopeful that so many players talking about the issue would force Bungie to respond, that didn’t happen, as the studio declined to address the situation on social media or in their weekly news blog released a day after ‘#nerfstasis’ exploded on Twitter. Bungie’s TWAB posts after a major content release tend to be brief, and the blogs, in general, are prepared days in advance and it was likely too late to pivot entirely to address the community’s latest round of pushback against Stasis. It’s time. We gave it a fair shot. The pvp community morale is the lowest it’s ever been and Stasis is still an over-reaching influence in the crucible. @Bungie ya’ll are doing great. Take the ultimate W here and #nerfstasis in pvp. Delete Aspects/Fragments Limit freeze/slow— Makowski 🎙️ (@OlManMakowski) May 12, 2021 However, fans were still left disappointed by the lack of any acknowledgment from Bungie about the community’s feedback, which seemed to continue the longstanding trend of silence about their future plans for the Crucible — something that many players take issue with. Many still believe Destiny 2’s PVP is worth saving Rumors abound that one of Bungie’s next titles will be a competitive PVP experience, and many Destiny players speculate that the studio has likely shifted much of its former Crucible team over to work on that project, leading to the drought in PVP content for Destiny 2. For some, the lack of communication and content has proved to be too much. Several content creators that previously focused on Destiny left the game in the wake of Stasis. Michael ‘MTashed’ Tash used to base much of his content around the Crucible, but has mostly moved on to other titles. Is that pretty much every PvP content creator now? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the new hunter fragment thing. I’ve played for 1 day and I’m almost burnt out https://t.co/ZA3hJBW5QA— Mtashed (@MTashed) May 12, 2021 For other creators like ‘illPhysics’, Bungie’s lack of commitment to the sweeping Stasis changes requested by the community was the last straw. After the ‘Nerf Stasis’ movement trended and received no response, the respected PVP creator shared with the community that he was quitting Destiny 2 entirely. “I love this game and I respect the hell out of Bungie, but they are not listening and haven’t been for a long time,” he shared in his farewell message on Twitter. I quit Destiny 2. I love this game & I respect the hell out of @Bungie, but they are not listening and haven’t been for a long time. PvP is neither fun, nor rewarding to play. To my community: I’ll elaborate more on my plans going forward soon. Thank you for holding me down. — Tony💯 (@illPhysics) May 15, 2021 Fellow content creator ‘nathINSANE’ voiced his agreement with illPhysics’s stance: “Until we get some transparency [from Bungie] it’s just not worth stressing over anymore. It sucks [that] people who are actually trying to better the scene are done with it.” Destiny’s true focus has always been on PVE content, and yet, the Crucible remains an important pillar of the game for countless players. The recent reaction on Twitter from the PVP community is further evidence that many Destiny 2 fans still want to see that side of the game succeed. While Bungie has not responded to the recent round of Stasis criticism at the time of writing, we will make sure to update you if they address the community’s concerns in a future news release. Don’t forget to check out our roundup of where you can find Xur this week.

Destiny 2 PvP players celebrate huge Crucible changes promised by Bungie – Dexerto
Destiny 2 PvP players celebrate huge Crucible changes promised by Bungie BungieDestiny 2 players are overjoyed following the reveal that Bungie will be giving the Crucible much more love and attention moving forward, with a dedicated PvP team being put together for it. When it comes to PvP, Destiny 2 has had a somewhat troubled history. While PvE continues to receive ambitious dungeons, raids, and regular seasonal content, PvP has only gotten two new maps in 10 seasons. Although the Crucible isn’t quite bringing in the same numbers it once did, Destiny 2’s PvP mode is more popular than many think. According to DestinyTracker, around 350k players queued into a Crucible match on August 15 alone. Given PvP’s surprising popularity, many players were left confused why it had received so little support. But now that looks to be changing with Bungie promising big PvP updates are on the way. Bungie promises big Destiny 2 PvP updates are coming In a follow-up to the controversial State of the Game blog post, Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn revealed more about Bungie’s plans for the looter shooter. For PvP, the highlights included promises of a free map pack, a dedicated developer strike team, Rift being replaced by Countdown: Rush, and a reworked competitive mode that will prioritize winning over MMR matchups. This news was well received by the Destiny 2 PvP community, with numerous players taking to Reddit to give their thoughts. One such reply posted: “I love how Joe has done it. Much respect. What he said sounds like a good approach. I hope it works out. Will support.” Another happy but more skeptical fan responded: “So complaining does work! Wonderful news about the map packs tho. But was the resources thing just an excuse or what?” This sentiment proved popular with a different Guardian replying: “In general this is a lot of good news today, but it’s hard not to be skeptical/question how well this actually translates to changes in game.” A handful of players were left unimpressed by Blackburn’s post: “My view hasn’t changed at all. It’s too late. I suspect this is damage control after all the outrage of the previous SOTG. They might not have expected so many people to get mad about it.” The overall consensus from the Destiny community is that these are great changes and exactly what the Crucible needs. However, an extended period of perceived neglect has left fans jaded and unsure about the future of PvP. It’s on Bungie to prove them wrong and deliver on these promises.

Destiny 2 PvP mains beg Bungie to rework Bad Juju’s “wasted” perks – Dexerto
Destiny 2 PvP mains beg Bungie to rework Bad Juju’s “wasted” perks BungieDestiny 2 PvP players have begged Bungie to rework Bad Juju by replacing its outdated perk pool with superior alternatives worthy of its iconic status. Bad Juju is an Exotic weapon that first appeared in the original Destiny and was brought back in Destiny 2 during Season 7. Its unique ability is String of Curses, which increases damage and Super Energy when chaining kills together. While String of Curses remains a top-tier perk, the same cannot be said of its other traits. Neither Hip-Fire Grip nor its ability to fire full-auto is unique today, with the latter being a toggle in Destiny’s settings. With two of its three unique traits being power crept the community is now pleading for Bungie to give Bad Juju some love. Destiny 2’s PvP community proposes new Bad Juju perks Explaining why a Bad Juju rework is necessary, one Guardian posted on Reddit: “…there have always been two aspects that hold this gun back from being a decent pick for PVP specifically. Range, and the wasted HipFire Grip perk. Given it’s actually an exotic weapon but beat out by literally all lightweight pulse rifles in the game… it’s time it should actually breathe.” As for what alternative Perks would benefit Bad Juju, OP proposed Keep Away, Fragile Focus, Encore, and Killing Wind believing these would give the Exotic Pulse Rifle “more uptime as an actual choice.” Another player chimed in, “I think the main thing would be to give it some more base range so it can compete with other weapons in the same archetype. Hipfire is niche too. Maybe this gun becomes craftable since it had its own exotic mission back in the day…” A different user highlighted a flaw with String of Curses in PvP, “You didn’t even mention how after the changes to Intellect and how kills affect your Super, that half of its Exotic perk barely even does anything now. You don’t really get faster Supers by using it.” Not everyone was on board with a Bad Juju rework defending the Exotic’s performance in PvE, “It honestly is really good in PvE, relative to other pulses. But not every gun needs to excel in both PvE and PvP. Some have their niches and that’s okay.” In PvE, Bad Juju is considered a strong Exotic when used with loadouts that rely on Super spam like the meta Celestial Nighthawk Hunter build. However, it has little use in PvP and is outperformed by several Legendary weapons.

Destiny 2 PvP casuals blast inaccessible Trials of Osiris – Dexerto
Destiny 2 PvP casuals blast inaccessible Trials of Osiris BungieTrials of Osiris has been criticized with Destiny 2’s competitive PvP game mode being slammed for its lack of accessibility and reliance on casual players acting as”fodder,” by design. Most would consider Trials of Osiris the pinnacle of Destiny 2 PvP. The competitive mode places Guardians in a one-life, 3v3 match-up over several quickfire rounds. Coming out on top requires map knowledge, mechanical skill, communication, and a purpose-built loadout suited to the featured map. It is some of the most demanding content in Destiny especially since players only have a few days to farm rolls before Trials disappears for the week. However, not everyone appreciates it with some Destiny 2 players slamming Trials of Osiris for being inaccessible for the average player. Destiny 2 Guardians slam Trials of Osiris’ reliance on fodder Vocal Destiny 2 players have slammed Trials of Osiris’ design believing that it massively favors hardcore PvP players at the cost of the casual playerbase. A Reddit post that started the conversation joked: “Yes yes, very accessible,” with a classic Patrick Sweater meme attached describing the experience of having to go up against all flawless opponents with meta Rose Hand Cannons as a PvP casual. This provided a platform to slam Trials and one Guardian didn’t miss their chance: “Trials is designed to have fodder, even on weekends where everyone’s playing Trials and it’s a great time, flawless rates never really go above a third of players. The bottom gets tired of losing, so they leave, making the next tier of players the bottom.” “This just repeats till Trials is only populated by the top 5% and the few unlucky souls who decided to play for the weekend. Then an update or new shiny weapon comes out and the cycle repeats itself. It’s a flawed system that won’t adequately reward the majority of its players for their time,” stated the thread’s most upvoted response. Another Guardian echoed this view: “I did trials last weekend for the first time in a year, and my first game was a full team of glowing trials armor with all trials adept weapons. I was able to deal 13 damage with a ricochet shot. Which was my mistake as it immediately alerted them to my street address.” Not everyone was as sympathetic: “Trials is endgame PvP. Idk what people expect with playing end level content against other players but at the very least you shouldn’t be surprised you’re getting steam rolled.” Trials of Osiris will remain a controversial game mode with casual players finding it inaccessible and PvP mains wanting it to remain an end-game activity with a high skill ceiling.

Destiny 2 PvE players worried new Exotics might get over-nerfed because of PvP – Dexerto
Destiny 2 PvE players worried new Exotics might get over-nerfed because of PvP BungieThe prevalence of new Exotics in PvP introduced in The Final Shape has Destiny 2 players worried about the extent to which Bungie could nerf them in a future update. In the past, Bungie has flip-flopped on how it approaches balance changes. While it can and has made adjustments to specific items in the past that only affect a particular area of the sandbox – leaving them unchanged everywhere else – the Destiny developer has also done the exact opposite. That being the case, Guardians are uncertain about what form any future balance patches could take and have been voicing their worries on Reddit. In a thread drawing attention to the concerns, the author wrote, “It’s wild seeing how something being broken in PvP makes PvE players incredibly scared,” pointing out the inconsistency using Titan’s Shoulder Charge ability as an example: “When Shoulder Charge damage was an issue, they changed damage dealt to guardians without hurting PvE effectiveness,” the post explained before continuing, “However, when the issue was mobility in PvP, the way they chose to tackle the issue was to inflict a short cooldown by making Shoulder Charge consume a small bit of melee energy.” Having Shoulder Charge use melee energy made it much harder to upkeep in PvE. This latter approach impacted how viable the ability was in both PvP and PvE, despite the nerf being targeted solely at PvP. Given this history, Guardians are scared the same approach will be taken with the dominant Speaker’s Sight. “Just look at Young Ahamkara Spine. An Exotic that was broken in PvP and decent in PvE, got nuked to be trash in both, came another response, adding “Players are rightfully scared of the nerf hammer. Bungie doesn’t use it like a scalpel, more like a blunt club.” Notable PvP streamer GernaderJake has drawn attention to the incredible potency of Speaker’s Sight in the Crucible when used in specific loadouts, claiming that Trials of Osiris will “become completely unplayable” if not addressed. Jake later stressed: “I DO NOT want this nerfed in PvE,” emphasizing the importance of keeping any future nerfs strictly to PvP. Bungie hasn’t indicated that a balance patch is on the way for Destiny 2, though it does traditionally make sandbox changes multiple times per season, so players won’t be waiting long to learn how everything shakes out.

Destiny 2 Pulse Rifle is the Outbreak replacement Hunters need to craft – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Pulse Rifle is the Outbreak replacement Hunters need to craft BungieDestiny 2’s Hunter population has had a tough choice to make in the game’s current PvE meta thanks to big damage buffs awarded to Pulse Rifles in The Final Shape. The tried and true Still Hunt/Celestial Nighthawk combo means Cayde-6’s disciples don’t have the luxury of using Outbreak Perfected, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely out of options. In fact, the weapon type has an incredibly potent Legendary option begging to fill the primary slot for Hunters. Originally introduced in Forsaken’s Last Wish Raid and subsequently made craftable in Season of the Deep, Chattering Bone’s access to a stacked perk pool has made it a must-have for Episode: Echoes. Best Chattering Bone roll for PvE The best perks for Chattering Bone in PvE are: Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling or Arrowhead Break – Magazine: Ricochet Rounds – Perk 1: Outlaw – Perk 2: Rampage – Masterwork: Reload Speed or Range – While not the auto-pick combo it once was, the synergistic nature of Outlaw and Rampage here is still going to offer the best bang for your buck for primary weapon damage. Ricochet Rounds offer a welcome bump to Range and Stability, while barrel choice largely comes down to personal preference. If you want even more long-distance reliability, Corkscrew Rifling is the way to go. If, on the other hand, you prefer your weapons to feel snappier and more lightweight, Arrowhead Break’s +30 Handling bonus is your best shout. Masterwork options again come down to individual preference. If you have Chattering Bone’s Pattern, play around with Reload Speed and Range to see which better suits your playstyle. While it can’t be a replacement for Outbreak Perfected owing to its status as an Energy weapon, Hunters looking for alternative builds should try out Episode: Echoes Act 2’s Corrasion for its terrific melee-oriented perks.

Destiny 2 Season of the Risen PsiOps Battleground guide: Full activity walkthrough – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Season of the Risen PsiOps Battleground guide: Full activity walkthrough BungieWith Season of the Risen now in focus, Guardians have a new PsiOps Battleground seasonal activity to grind in Destiny 2. Here’s a complete walkthrough of the new challenge to help you clear it in no time. Season of the Risen is now upon us as The Witch Queen takeover is in full effect. Outside of endgame Raids to topple and new Titles to earn, one of your main goals this season is to master the PsiOps Battleground activity. Whether you’re a Destiny veteran or a kinderguardian taking your first steps, everyone can make it through this Seasonal activity with a little practice. So to help you understand the latest activity and to clear it with ease, here’s a full breakdown of all there is to know about PsiOps Battleground in Destiny 2. Contents Destiny 2 PsiOps Battleground: New activity explained PsiOps Battleground is the main Seasonal activity in Season of the Risen. Throughout, your goal as a Fireteam is to capture powerful Lieutenants and return them to the Tower where they will be psychoanalyzed. Fortunately, Caiatl’s best Psions are on the job with us, as they’ll help defeat Savathun’s forces in each instance of the activity. Destiny 2 PsiOps Battleground: Power Level Before jumping into PsiOps Battleground, it’s recommended you reach Power Level 1500. This is the new soft Power Level cap in the Witch Queen expansion, so it shouldn’t take long to reach. Just from clearing the main campaign, you should be well on your way to reaching Power Level 1500, if you haven’t already. It’s worth noting this is just the entry Power Level, however. Luckily, you’ll be able to attempt a lower-level one on the EDZ early on. Read more: Destiny 2 Witch Queen Raid – As the Season goes on and Legend Battlegrounds rotate in, we’re sure to see a higher requirement moving forward. Destiny 2 PsiOps Battleground: EDZ Walkthrough Kicking things off in the EDZ, your first task is to ‘Break the Hive position’ in a nearby area. Simply clear the first wave of foes by any means necessary, then advance forward into the Dark Forest. Upon entering the familiar location, you’ll encounter a few waves of Lucent Hive along with some more powerful foes. During this phase, look to prioritize Lucent Reliquists. Killing these yellow bar targets is essential to reaching the next step. Lucent Reliquists drop Hive Relics (swords) at their feet. These can be used to break through otherwise impenetrable shields of the Portalguards. Use the Relics, break the shields, kill the Portalguards, rinse and repeat in a few different areas and you’ll be on your way to the next phase. Next up comes the final boss fight in this PsiOps Battleground activity. Enter the Mindscape and track down Mor’Ak, Lightstealer for this particular EDZ mission. In this final arena, you’ll be met with a heaping serve of regular foes along with a handful of yellow bar Aspects of Savathun. It’s worth ignoring the main boss target, to begin with. Similar to the last encounter, these yellow bars should be the focus, and the only way to take them out is with special Relics. Grab Synaptic Spears littered throughout the stage to blast Savathun’s clones out of the sky. Each time you wipe all Aspects of Savathun, you’ll have a brief damage phase to wipe off one chunk of Mor’Ak’s health bar. Repeat this step a few times and you’ll soon complete the first PsiOps Battleground challenge. Read more: All Witch Queen exotics so far – Below is a step by step breakdown to make light work of the PsiOps Battleground EDZ activity: Break the Hive position by clearing enemies in the EDZ. – Enter the Dark Forest. – Defeat Lucent Reliquists to obtain Hive Relics. – Use Hive Relics to wipe out a number of Portalguards. – Enter the Mindscape and approach the final boss. – Grab Synaptic Spears to kill Aspects of Savathun. – Damage Mor’Ak, Lightstealer between each phase until completion. – Return to the Material Plane and collect your Rewards. – So that’s all there is to know about the PsiOps Battlegrounds Seasonal activity in Destiny 2 Season of the Risen. Destiny 2 devs respond as surprising amount of players ignore PS5 upgrade – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs respond as surprising amount of players ignore PS5 upgrade BungieAccording to Bungie, far too many PS5 owners still play the PS4 version of Destiny 2 instead of using the PS5 upgrade. The PlayStation 5’s rather confusing user interface caused a lot of problems when the console originally launched. For one, players had trouble identifying whether they were booting up the PS4 or PS5 version of cross-gen titles. Sony later rectified the issue with a system software update that made details about the playable version more readily visible. However, a number of Destiny 2 players on PS5 have yet to make the switch to next-gen. Bungie advises Destiny 2 fans on PS5 to use the free upgrade Destiny 2 developers deployed a free next-gen update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in late 2020. The upgrade added load time improvements, 60fps, 4K resolution, and FOV slider support. For some reason, though, not all of the title’s PS5 players have taken advantage of these enhancements. And, apparently, there are so many PS5 users still booting up the PS4 iteration that Bungie felt the need to issue a PSA. In the latest “This Week at Bungie” post, the studio said a “notable number” of PS5 owners continue to play the PS4 version of Destiny 2 on their current-gen hardware. The development team, thus, wanted to remind fans that Destiny 2’s PS5 upgrade offers a much better experience. In addition, the post links to a PlayStation support page that explains how to upgrade eligible PS4 titles to their PS5 counterparts. Players need only to hover over the Destiny 2 icon on PS5, hit the “Options” button, go to “View Game,” and then open the menu portal in the PS Store. Yet another menu screen will offer selections that cover both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the shooter. Hopefully, more PS5 users will soon see all that they’ve been missing for the last couple of years.

Destiny 2 Prophecy loot table: All weapons & armor – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Prophecy loot table: All weapons & armor BungieDestiny 2’s Prophecy dungeon has an impressive loot table with a range of meta weapons and stylish armor to farm following its rework. Having first been released back in June 2020, Prophecy is one of Destiny’s oldest dungeons. As expected, its rewards aged over time, giving players little reason to complete the dungeon’s gorgeous encounters outside of earning the occasional Pinnacle reward. To fix this, Bungie refreshed its loot pool in Update 7.3.5, introducing new weapons and refreshing all of their perks. The dungeon that once had no rewards of interest now offers some of the best PvP weapons and PvE weapons in the game. Naturally, this makes it worth farming for both New Lights and veterans alike. After all, Guardians love loot, especially when that loot is meta-defining and could feature in your next loadout. Full Prophecy loot table The Prophecy dungeon is divided into four encounters, with each having unique loot up for grabs. The loot from this dungeon offers a mix of Class-specific armor and six weapons that are either new or were reissued in Update 7.3.5. Destiny 2 Prismatic subclasses explained: How merging abilities works – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Prismatic subclasses explained: How merging abilities works BungieDestiny 2’s new Prismatic subclasses are a massive game changer for The Final Shape, with the ability to mix and match abilities, here’s what you need to know about the new Prismatic subclass. The Final Shape is slowly being revealed to us Guardians, and with it a new form of subclass that sees players mixing and matching both light and dark. This new Prismatic subclass will let you grab abilities from both the darkness and the light, giving you the best of both worlds. Puzzled about how this new subclass will work? We’ve got you covered. Destiny 2 Prismatic subclasses explained Prismatic subclasses will utilize the power of both Light and Dark with a bar underneath your super meter. This bar has both a Light and Dark meter and requires the Guardian to deal damage of both types to fill it completely. Once the bar reaches its max you reach Transcendence. This is indicated by an animation depending on your class. Alongside this, Prismatic subclasses will have more Fragment and Fragment slots, meaning you can mix and match even more than before, truly letting you live out your power fantasy as a Guardian of both Light and Dark. Destiny 2 Transcendence explained Transcendence gives your Guardian a bunch of new abilities. This includes a new grenade that combines Light and Dark together. Hunter receives a Stasis and Solar grenade, Titans a Strand and Arc grenade, and Warlocks get a Stasis and Void grenade. On top of that, you’ll receive a weapon damage bonus that stacks with other sources, making you more powerful than before. Your Melee and Class abilities are automatically reset when you pop Transcendence, meaning you can string a bunch of them together.

Destiny 2 Prismatic Subclass guide – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Prismatic Subclass guide BungieThe arrival of The Final Shape marks the conclusion of the Light and Darkness Saga in Destiny 2. As such, Bungie is making some big changes to raise the power of Guardians in this final chapter. A huge part of this is the new Prismatic subclass. The Prismatic subclass is a revolutionary addition perfect for fans of the game. Drawing from the full range of existing powers (alongside some new ones), it will open the floor up to in-depth buildcrafting. Essentially, it is giving Guardians the ability to unleash everything they have learned over the last ten years. It is markedly different from the previous additions of Stasis and Strand, as the setup exclusively makes use of the other five subclasses. The most significant additions come when the player enters Transcendence (more on that later). With all of that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about the Prismatic subclass. What is the Prismatic subclass? The Prismatic subclass is based on the premise of allowing Guardians to wield the Light and Dark simultaneously. Supers, grenades, melee abilities, and Aspects are all drawn from the existing five subclasses, encouraging players to combine them for maximum effectiveness. This new skill set is complemented by the ability to select from all of the existing movement types and class abilities. To access the full array of build options, players must unlock them by completing missions and activities. It’s difficult to overstate just how significant this is for Destiny 2. The development team themselves described it as “a little bit game-breaking” in a recent live stream revealing the subclass and, with the array of builds on offer to players, that’s likely to be true. It’s important to note that this will not be a full array of every ability from every subclass. Instead, there is a curated set of options from across the spectrum, including some historically underutilized abilities that should find a new lease of life among the other Prismatic build choices. In the first instance, Guardians will be provided with a Prismatic starter build. This allows the subclass to be used as you progress through the story, rather than having to wait to access it fully. What is Transcendence? From a lore perspective, the Prismatic subclass is the culmination of the Guardian’s understanding of Light and Dark. Their new mastery of the elements has led to previously unattainable levels of power, resulting in new gameplay loops. This is where Transcendence comes in, enabling players to use brand-new powers only available within the Prismatic subclass. The first step in accessing these powers is filling up the new Transcendence meter, which appears directly underneath the usual Super meter. When Guardians deal damage from the traditional Light subclasses (Void, Solar & Arc), the left half of the bar will fill. Equally, the right side of the bar begins to generate when dealing damage via Stasis or Strand. The idea is that it will encourage the balanced use of abilities from across the spectrum. Additionally, Kinetic damage fills both bars at a significantly increased rate. That rate further increases if one bar is already filled, allowing Guardians to reach Transcendence more quickly. When Guardians become Transcendent, melee and grenade energy immediately refresh. They also regenerate more quickly, allowing players to lay down a barrage of explosive damage. To further complement this, the developer is adding Prismatic-specific grenades that are available only while transcendent. All of these deal both Light and Dark damage. Hunter: Hailfire Spike – Works in a similar way to Spike Grenades, in this case sticking to surfaces and dealing a combination of Stasis and Solar Damage. It explodes in a Solar-charged storm, forming a cyclone that causes burn damage and significantly slows enemies. – Titan: Electrified Snare – This grenade uses Strand and Arc to suspend and electrify enemies. All targets suspended in its web take significant damage over time, as well as chaining lightning to other targets nearby. – Warlock: Freezing Singularity—On detonation, Freezing Singularity forms a black hole, dealing huge Void and Stasis damage. It also suppresses enemies. – Prismatic Hunter guide With the abilities on offer to Hunters, most players will likely go in one of two directions: survivability or offensive endurance. Either option will be a solid power-play for Hunters., offering all the movement staples to maintain the essence of the class. The good news for buildcrafters is that the selection of Supers, grenades, and Aspects for Hunters is competitive in all areas. However, the somewhat awkward compatibility of certain subclasses means that most Prismatic builds will likely be themed around two existing subclasses, rather than taking abilities from four or five. The new Exotic class item further muddies these waters, allowing the class to roll exotic perks from armor items on all classes. This will create situations where Hunters may have the melee invisibility of Assassin’s Cowl alongside the increased damage of an item like Synthoceps. Sticking with the known quantities, there are some standout combinations from the selections above. Class and movement abilities will likely remain the same, with most going for Triple Jump and Gambler’s Dodge. The latter is helpful, as Hunters are likely to use melee combo builds again. As such, the Duskfield Grenade is a good choice, slowing and freezing enemies who pass through its dome and allowing the class to close distance. With these options available, leaning into Stasis, with some complementary Void abilities, is likely to be a very effective play. Shadowshot: Deadfall is still the standout Super, bringing utility for group content and excellent crowd control in difficult solo pursuits. Storm’s Edge is also entering the mix and could prove to be effective, though it is difficult to see a use case for it outside of PvP. In that arena, however, its ability to close distance could make it a necessity. The Melee ability slot is a toss-up between Combination Blow and Withering Blade, depending on build choice. For most melee-focused builds, Combination Blow is the go-to, while Withering Blade is an all-around option for those who prefer to stay further back. Stylish Executioner is often at the top of a Hunter’s priority list, and there is good reason to believe it will remain there for Prismatic builds. Gunpowder Gamble is a solid choice for Solar builds too, though the lower number of Fragment slots may put some people off. Prismatic Warlock guide Of the three classes in Destiny 2, Warlock feels the most suited to what Prismatic is trying to do. Most of the abilities included in Prismatic are viable, with the new subclass allowing Warlock to excel across a wide range of playstyles. Though Hunters have generated the most discussion since the Prismatic reveal, there is plenty to like in the options for Warlocks too. Along with Titans, Warlocks offer ample opportunity to use powers from across the existing subclass spectrum, giving you plenty of options to choose from. In all likelihood, Warlocks will be switching between Winter’s Wrath and Nova Bomb: Cataclysm for add clear and boss encounters, respectively. Additionally, Song of Flame is the class’ new Super, and it looks like an impressive option in both PvE and PvP. One note from the preview for Song of Flame is that it lasted for a long time. Whether this will be the case at launch is unclear. If it does, it could surpass both of the above options for overall damage output. With grenade spam likely to become a major part of DPS rotations, combining Song of Flame with an exotic like Verity’s Brow could be huge for the Warlock class. Holding the Solar Super, a combo of Stasis and Void abilities feels appropriate. Freezing enemies with Coldsnap Grenade is likely the sensible play in the first few weeks, with Pocket Singularity for the damage output and volatility. The new Hellion Aspect is not the first of its type, and it could be an impressive choice. That said, to maximize its effectiveness, many will want to run a Solar-focused build alongside Incinerator Snap and the new Super. Hellion would also line up well alongside Feed the Void, for an impressive survivability/DPS combo. If Hellion proves to be lagging in the opening weeks, then Bleak Watcher and Feed the Void is the play. This should allow the latter to recharge Warlock grenades quickly, thanks to Devour. In tandem with Bleak Watcher, the class would then be able to roll out Stasis Turrets quickly. Whether Bungie will lower their efficacy depending on the amount deployed remains to be seen. Prismatic Titan guide Titans are absolute monsters at the worst of times, and the arrival of Prismatic should make them an even more terrifying prospect. In particular, the new Super Twilight Arsenal looks like the most impressive of the three heading into the launch of The Final Shape. Prismatic Titans might not have the highest potential for buildcrafters, with that title likely going to Hunters, but there is still a lot to like here. Equally, there is a nice range of abilities available that should allow for focused builds in PvE, and particularly PvP. It is also the class where builds will be drawn from the widest range of subclasses. Of the preexisting Supers, it is a dealer’s choice for Titans. Thundercrash is probably the play for most, though Hammer of Sol will still have its uses. The new Twilight Arsenal Super looks incredible, particularly for PvP. It allows the Titan to throw three axes at enemies. Additionally, the axes remain behind for teammates to scoop up and use again. The potential for PvP matches is high, particularly with Ward of Dawn not being an option for Prismatic Titans. Class ability options are going to be on a case-by-case basis, with the relevance of Barriers not likely to go away. Equally, Thruster appeals to some for the increased mobility it offers, even if it is more of a solo play choice. Knockout is the standout Aspect on the list, for both health recovery and the amplified status effect following a melee kill. The damage of Consecration also stands out, with the Aspect overchargable thanks to the effect of Knockout. The freezing effect of Diamond Lance feels unnecessary, bearing in mind many will likely use Glacier Grenade. Prismatic Fragments guide In Prismatic builds, Fragments are more important than ever. Where single subclass builds allow gameplay loops and logical synergies across the board, this is a more difficult thing to achieve when borrowing abilities from multiple. As such, most Prismatic Aspect Fragment allotments have been raised to three, with a few capped at two for potency. This gives the developer and player more avenues to create satisfying and effective gameplay rotations. The full list of Fragments on offer in the Prismatic subclass is as follows: The Fragments are dependent on the player running abilities from the appropriate subclass. Facet of Ruin, Facet of Dominance, and Facet of Bravery are examples of this, though all look effective. Fragments like Facet of Balance and Facet of Grace could be staples in builds thanks to their near-universal application. Most melee builds will run Facet of Protection for survivability in an expansion that promises to challenge even seasoned players. There are also some nice Orb of Power options to help groups cycle up to their supers quickly, with Fragments like Facet of Generosity and Facet of Purpose available to prevent droughts. In summary, the Prismatic subclass should offer something for everyone, regardless of playstyle. It is unclear what the landscape for the traditional subclasses will be following The Final Shape, but it’s difficult to advocate for anything other than Prismatic, particularly if you’re looking to experiment with builds for your Guardian.

Destiny 2 finally nerfing Prismatic Hunter in September patch – Dexerto
Destiny 2 finally nerfing Prismatic Hunter in September patch BungieBungie’s preview for Update 8.0.5.4 details the upcoming Destiny 2 nerfs that will impact Prismatic Hunter builds. The Prismatic subclass took Destiny 2 by storm upon arriving alongside The Final Shape in June 2024. Hunter mains significantly benefited in PvP matches, where Prismatic Hunter builds began dominating because of abilities like Threaded Specter and Shroud’s Edge. In particular, Thread Specter became the target of a nerf that reduced its aim-assist strength and detonation damage against other players. Bungie introduced said changes in Patch 8.0.5 on August 6, yet Destiny 2’s Prismatic Hunter continues to prove itself a menace in PvP. As a result, a September patch will further fine-tune the subclass, meaning a few more nerfs are on the way in 8.0.5.4. Prismatic Hunter changes (September 2024) Bungie has shared a patch notes preview for Update 8.0.5.4, which will go live on an unspecified date in early September. The planned changes target the Hunter class’s Smoke, Swarm, and Threaded Specter abilities across both PvE and PvP. Early release notes read as follows: Threaded Specter Aspect Increased cooldown duration of Marksman Dodge and Gambler’s Dodge when Threaded Specter is equipped – Removed dodge cooldown penalty after creating clone – If the clone is destroyed by attacks, it no longer spawns Threadlings – Increased the amount of time the clone will distract nearby combatants before exploding – Swarm Grenade Increased Swarm Grenade base cooldown duration by 15% – Moved Swarm Grenade to a slower recharge tier for non-passive grenade-energy gains – Smoke Bomb melee Reduced the time the smoke bomb projectile lingers in the world from 10s to 3.5s – Reduced the player movement-speed penalty imparted by the smoke by 25% – Additionally, we have a few more changes planned for Episode 2. While we wanted the following to ship alongside the above changes, they needed just a bit more time in the oven. Threaded Specter Increasing detonation damage vs. combatants by 33% – Swarm Grenade Swarm Grenade submunitions will be easier to shoot – Swarm Grenade submunitions will chain-detonate nearby submunitions – These adjustments are subject to change if any issues arise between now and their planned September 2024 rollout.

How to claim Destiny 2 Prime Gaming rewards – Dexerto
How to claim Destiny 2 Prime Gaming rewards Bungie / Prime Gaming / DexertoDestiny 2 Prime Gaming rewards have become a longstanding, monthly tradition, with Bungie giving players all kinds of rewards, including exciting cosmetics like shaders and Sparrows. Though it was delayed, The Final Shape is finally here, giving Guardians new Exotics, the Prismatic subclass, and an epic mission list, finally bringing a conclusion to the Light and Darkness Saga. The expansion has been extremely well received, with the looter shooter’s player count rising as a result. There’s always plenty of gear to obtain in Bungie’s hit FPS, and now they have teamed up with Prime Gaming to give players even more rewards. A new Exotic bundle is available monthly, featuring various goodies ranging from weapon ornaments, vehicles, and emotes. You won’t want to miss out on the Prime Gaming rewards when they are available, as they often include rare cosmetics and even exclusive items that can’t be earned elsewhere. How to claim Prime Gaming Rewards While Amazon Prime members are lucky enough to get their hands on this extra gear, you’ll need to make sure everything is linked up correctly before claiming the rewards. To scoop up all of these prizes so that you can flex on your fellow Guardians, you will need a Prime Gaming account as well as a Bungie.net account, and the two will need to be successfully linked. Here’s how to link up your Destiny 2 account and claim the latest Prime Gaming rewards: Ensure that your Bungie.net account and your Prime Gaming account are fully connected. – Select which platform you want your rewards to go to. – Log in to Destiny 2. – Visit the Special Deliveries terminal in the Tower to claim your rewards. – Make sure to scoop up the latest rewards before the offering is replaced by the next set of rewards when they are available. All Prime Gaming rewards Since Destiny 2’s release, Amazon Prime gaming rewards have been dropping regularly offering you a chance to get your hands on some of the coolest emotes, sparrows, ships, and ghost shells in the game. Not only does this give players a unique opportunity to obtain more cosmetics, but some of these cosmetic items are even exclusive to Prime Gaming and cannot be earned through any other means. What’s included in this month’s Prime Gaming bundle? As of the last bundle expiring on March 6, 2024, Amazon is no longer partnered with Bungie to deliver Prime Gaming content. The last bundle was the Vehement Flock Exotic Emote Bundle, which featured a new Emote, Sparrow, ship, and exclusive shader. Though the four-year partnership between Amazon and Bungie has ended for now, a return could happen in the future. Be sure to revisit this page frequently to stay updated on if more Prime Gaming rewards come in the future. Though there are no Prime Gaming rewards to claim right now, you’ll still want to know the best PvE Weapons and PvP Weapons to optimize your loadouts. Equally, making the most of the weekly Dungeon & Raid rotation, and knowing this week’s Trials map and Xur’s stock is a must to optimize your experience.

Destiny 2 Power changes mean you don’t have to level up all your weapons – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Power changes mean you don’t have to level up all your weapons BungieDestiny 2 introduced fundamental changes to how Power Level functions with The Final Shape. One of these tweaks has specifically affected weapons, and how Power Level contributes to a Guardian’s overall strength. From their testing of the adjustments in the Crucible, Destiny 2 data analyst MossyMax concluded that “Individual weapon Power level no longer matters,” in most activities, even those that don’t utilize the new Fireteam Power function. They explained that the reason for this is because “The game now treats every weapon as if it’s the same as your overall gear power,” rather than giving each individual weapon its own power. While this means players working towards The Final Shape’s Pinnacle cap will still want to infuse weapons to increase their overall Power, there’s no longer any reason to yourself with the process after hitting 2000 Power. The change doesn’t directly impact gameplay, but it does reduce the amount of resources needed for those already at the power cap. The big win from this discovery is a relaxation on Upgrade Module consumption. This resource is required to infuse gear whenever the cap is raised, but with individual weapon Power now automatically adjusted up to a Guardian’s overall rating, the process becomes redundant beyond hitting 2000 Power Level in most activities. As weapons and armor don’t drop at Pinnacle Power (the Powerful cap is 1990) by default, players can save themselves a ton of Glimmer and Enhancement Cores by ignoring the 10 Power deficit. MossyMax stresses that when all is said and done, the “Math all still works the same way, with one multiplier for your weapon PL, and another multiplier for your overall PL. The equations all assume your weapon PL is equal to your overall PL.” A minor caveat to this is the loss of minor damage in fringe cases where a weapon’s Power is above that of a Guardian’s Light Level. “Yeah, that’s one sacrifice made in this system,” MossyMax stipulates, adding, “But almost everything is Power capped, so it’s only relevant in Trials and Legend Lost Sectors.” Are you still exploring everything The Final Shape has to offer? Check out these guides on Overthrow and Episode One: Echoes for more information.

Destiny 2 power cap not increasing for the first time ever with Season of the Deep – Dexerto
Destiny 2 power cap not increasing for the first time ever with Season of the Deep BungieFor the first time since seasonal power increases were implemented in Destiny 2, Bungie has announced the upcoming Season of the Deep won’t be pushing Guardians to new levels upon its arrival. When it comes to the power fantasy in Bungie’s immensely popular Destiny 2, nothing quite compares to, well, your literal power. With each new major expansion and seasonal update in between, players have come to expect an increase in their Power level. As challenges ramp up the difficulty and more endgame activities are introduced, reaching a higher Power-tier is one of the game’s fundamental tasks. Almost everything you do leads to some form of increase, be it a minor gear upgrade or a major Pinnacle boost. However, for the first time since swapping over to the seasonal model in Destiny 2, Bungie is changing its approach. With Season of the Deep just around the corner, Guardians would be wise to keep expectations in check as devs have confirmed there will be no Power increase in the next chapter. Power levels won’t be rising in Destiny 2’s Season of the Deep The current Power cap, as implemented with the launch of Lightfall, will remain unchanged in Destiny 2’s next major season, Bungie announced in its May 4 TWAB blog. “For the first time, we will not be increasing the power bands in Destiny 2 in Season 21,” devs revealed. Thus, existing milestones will continue on over the course of Season of Deep, meaning players currently at the peak of their Power, will remain stagnant until roughly September, when the season should conclude. As a result, the following power bands will remain intact throughout Season 21: Power Floor (1600) – Soft Cap (1750) – Powerful Cap (1800) – Pinnacle Cap (1810) – In light of this unprecedented change, Bungie is looking to accommodate with a pivot away from many Pinnacle Legendary drops. As they won’t be quite as essential moving forward, devs are “changing the rewards for the basic ‘complete activities’ challenges to a focusable Powerful Exotic engram. “This gives most players three to nine free, achievable, and deterministic weekly Exotic engrams, ready for focusing. But yes, you will be losing some pinnacle drops, so reaching the Pinnacle Cap will be a bit slower for everyone. We are hoping the need for less pinnacle drops continues in future Seasons, but we will be looking at feedback and analytics, and are ready to adjust as necessary.” Time will only tell if this change works out for the better in Destiny 2’s Season of the Deep. But rest assured, we’ll keep you updated here with all the latest as the new content drop comes into focus.

Destiny 2 replacing Director with new Portal system: Revamped feature explained – Dexerto
Destiny 2 replacing Director with new Portal system: Revamped feature explained BungieThere’s a new system coming to Destiny 2 in the form of the Portal. It will replace the current Director feature and become Guardians’ one-stop shop for all activities in the game. Destiny 2 devs at Bungie have announced a huge amount of changes coming to the game in the near future. With the player base shaken from massive layoffs, reduced content, and rumors of a mobile title, the devs were swift to reassure Guardians, stating that the 10th Anniversary was them “just getting started” with the franchise. Now a slew of new information has been released by the devs, including a replacement for the current Director, which looks to help players both new and old to navigate to their activity of choice with greater ease. The Portal will replace the current Destination map and will feature several options for players to choose from. This should simplify the process of finding what you’re looking for, as you won’t need to head to the destination to find it. Destiny 2: Portal system explained There are several categories that players can choose from in the Portal, these are: Solo Ops: 1-3 player activities that require little to no social and time commitments. These are perfect for anyone who’s looking to hop in and out of a session. This category will also feature a new activity that Bungie will reveal soon. – Fireteam Ops: Fireteam Ops are three-player activities that can be played either matchmade or with premade groups. Activities like Strikes, Onslaught, and The Coil will be featured here. – Flashpoint Ops: Flashpoint Ops are six-player activities that are aimed for matchmade or premade groups. These will be more chaotic combat-based activities, like Offensives. – Pinnacle Ops: Pinnacle Ops are three-player activities that feature challenging content. This includes Dungeons, Exotic missions, and full-length Onslaughts. This category will have an exclusive reward pool to claim, but you’ll need to complete the activities to get it. – Crucible: Crucible is exactly what you think it is, the game’s PvP activities. This includes playlists for both solo Guardians and fireteams, and will also have an exclusive reward you can claim. – The Portal will also provide access to the current Expansion’s activities, as well as any seasonal event like Iron Banner or Festival of the Lost. Bonus Rewards The Portal system will also have several highlighted activities within each Category that will gran bonus rewards in addition to their standard offering. This will include specific weapons, armor slots, and currencies. These rewards are only guaranteed from the first clear each day but will have a high drop chance for future clears.

Destiny 2 popularity is “snowballing” ahead of The Witch Queen release – Dexerto
Destiny 2 popularity is “snowballing” ahead of The Witch Queen release BungieDestiny 2 appears to be hitting its stride as new reports indicate popularity is “snowballing” with each new seasonal update. The game’s player count on Steam is rocketing up ahead of The Witch Queen release. Although Destiny is winding down the latter stages of its first decade, Bungie’s hit FPS appears to be more popular than ever. With a shift to the free-to-play model and continuous seasonal updates, more players are reportedly jumping in than any year prior. Described as a “snowball” effect by Forbes’ Paul Tassi, each new content drop is building a bigger community than the one before it. What began as just over 130,000 players on Steam at the launch of Season of the Chosen, has now steadily climbed to just shy of 180,000 players in Season of the Lost, according to the Steam Database. So, according to @Charlemagne_Bot tracking, Destiny 2’s popularity is actually…snowballing The first month of Splicer was more popular than the first month of Chosen. The first month of Lost is looking to be more popular than the first month of Splicer — Paul Tassi (@PaulTassi) September 7, 2021 “Data suggests that each of the past few seasons of Destiny 2 this year has started out stronger than the last,” further evidence from Destiny statistician Charlemagne added. With year over year growth, and even season over season growth, Destiny 2 has only surged in popularity. Now, with The Witch Queen looming, it’s fair to assume Bungie’s next major content drop may be the biggest launch in Destiny history. Obviously, it’s worth noting that these figures are purely from Steam. They fail to take into account console players, and even those on Stadia. Though with the seasonal model in place, similar trends could be present on every platform. So although we’re in the midst of Destiny’s longest gap between expansions, with Witch Queen delayed into 2022, the community is thriving like never before. Steam player count on the launch day of each #Destiny2 season in 2021: Season of the Chosen: 132,225 (Feb 9) Season of the Splicer: 157,679 (May 11) Season of the Lost: 178,241 (Aug 24)(via https://t.co/g4mlT0C8Bg) pic.twitter.com/Eo8WEV0eGD — Destiny Bulletin (@DestinyBulletn) September 7, 2021 Smaller content drops throughout each given season, new passes to grind through, fresh loot, and limited-time events are all continuing to engage veterans and entice newcomers alike. Read More: Witch Queen will be a make or break moment – With the current trajectory, as Destiny 2 comfortably sits among Steam’s Top 10 with each passing month, Witch Queen could see more engagement than any previous update.

Destiny 2 players worried “biggest” Witness lore will be lost forever – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players worried “biggest” Witness lore will be lost forever BungieDestiny 2 players are worried that the narrative-defining cutscene of the Witness released during Season of the Deep will be lost forever once the season ends. No one saw it coming but the final week of the Season of the Deep‘s seasonal quest dropped quite the bombshell. It explained the origin of the Witness and how the Darkness came to be. Its arrival was confusing for many though. The entire Lightfall expansion hardly touched on these key topics yet a random questline tied to a time-limited and paywalled season pass offered deep insight into the Destiny universe. It’s the cutscene’s connection to the season pass that has the community worried it could be lost in time with future players never getting to experience it. The Witness origin story could be deleted from Destiny 2 There are concerns from Destiny 2 players that the huge reveal of The Witness’ origin story could disappear forever once Season of the Deep ends. A passionate fan was confused as to how players that did not buy or play Season of the Deep will be given the opportunity to discover the Witness lore. Confused on the matter they posted: “Have I missed something on this? Did Bungie say there will be an alternative to find out this lore?” OP continued: “It’s probably one of the biggest lore dumps and it’s seemingly locked behind a Season that will be removed. Randomly playing it afterward would be bad due to the lack of context as to how this info was found. Anyone know or is this a massive oversight?” One fan responded: “Same way they found out Calus joined the witness, or that Eramis broke free, or that Osiris was Savathun for a while, or that we are working with Caital, or Mithrax, or that Amanda died. Could continue but I think I’ve made my point.” The implication is that Bungie has released significant lore before in time-limited content and that it isn’t that unusual for Destiny 2. Another player not expecting much replied: “That’s the best part. They won’t. Why does it matter though, 90% of the game’s lore information has been deleted from the game anyway.” This disgruntled user is referencing sunsetting, a controversial practice where Bungie removed entire expansions from Destiny 2. As of Lightfall, Destiny 2 no longer has sunsetting but several of its expansions have already been taken out of the game unlikely to ever return. One more positive player believes the fix is easy enough and that Bungie will implement it: “There will probably be a big recap before the next DLC.” Its uncertain future isn’t the only reason the cutscene revealing the origins of The Witness has come under fire. There were also concerns that some of its content may have been plagiarized from fan art after similarities were noticed.

Destiny 2 players will soon be able to choose exotic rewards in Season of the Deep – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players will soon be able to choose exotic rewards in Season of the Deep BungieDestiny 2 developer Bungie has revealed they’ll be implementing new ways to obtain exotics in Lightfall through the upcoming Season of the Deep. Exotics are by far some of the most important pieces of equipment a player can obtain in Destiny 2. Whilst limited to one exotic armor piece and one weapon, their powerful effects can often be the foundation of builds for many. As the name implies, however, exotics are exceedingly rare, making them difficult to obtain and farm for. One such method Bungie has put in place is through Solo Master/ Legend Lost Sectors, which has the chance to drop one at the end of completion. However, this grindy way of gaining exotics has left a lot to be desired from the player base, but Bungie is looking to change that. Bungie announced in a recent blog post that they’d be making larger changes to how players can obtain exotics moving forward, opening up more methods to farm and receive newer ones. Destiny 2 has already implemented smaller buffs to the Lost Sector drop rate of exotics but is now looking to add an additional source of exotic gain through the Vex Strike Force event on Neomuna. The Vex Strike Force event is a rare public event that spawns on Neomuna in the current Vex Incursion Zone. Bungie has stated that in an upcoming update, “The Vex Strike Force event will drop a new piece of Exotic armor if you have any left to collect, on a knockout list, with no slot limits like Lost Sectors have.” This means that players looking to complete their collection of exotics can partake in these events until they’re happy. Players who have completed their collection of exotics will receive a random Exotic roll. Exotic Focusing coming in Season of the Deep Bungie also revealed that Exotic Focusing would be coming in Season 21. All exotic engrams except for those dropped in Lost Sectors, Vex Strike Force and Nightfalls will no longer auto-decrypt. These exotics will sit in a player’s inventory until they head to Rahool and are given 3 different options. Players can still choose to outright decrypt the engram, granting them a completely random exotic. Alternatively, players can look to focus an engram to a specific expansion release, players can also gain the seasonal release exotics in the yearly entitlement. Known as Advanced Decrptyion, this focusing method will cost one Exotic engram, one Ascendant Shard, and 30,000 Glimmer. Players can also look to focus an engram to the specific exotic they want, Precision Decryption will allow the player to directly focus whatever Exotic armor you want. This method is a bit more expensive, however, costing one Exotic engram, three Ascendant Shards, 60,000 Glimmer, and one Exotic Cipher. Bungie has noted that they’ll be raising the Exotic Cipher limit to five come Season 21 to account for this change.

Destiny 2 players devise genius weapon crafting idea for Witch Queen expansion – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players devise genius weapon crafting idea for Witch Queen expansion BungieDestiny 2’s upcoming expansion The Witch Queen is bringing a new weapon crafting system to the game and players are dreaming up ways it could make their favorite weapons more useful and exciting. Destiny 2 has seen a lot of changes to its weapon system over the years, but The Witch Queen promises to arrive with a shiny new crafting menu to fix some of the current ailments. While we don’t know exactly how things are going to work in terms of upgrading your guns, Bungie has promised players the ability to “forge new weapons and level them up with customizable perks, stats, and more.” The concept of upgrading older guns has had fans in a stir, and what started as a suggestion that the Monte Carlo should receive a catalyst has since spun off into a web of ideas concerning the potential of this new system. Destiny 2 weapon crafting system in The Witch Queen The idea of the Monte Carlo – a weapon that gains increased damage based on melee kills – getting a proper melee form isn’t a new one, the gun was in the original Destiny and fans have been asking for a proper change for years now. However, the request remains more popular than ever. One user suggested a simple way for an upgrade like this to work: “Make it do 1.5x more damage with powered melee or something…Use the blade and when the powered melee is charged you get a buff to it. Would be awesome” While that alone could be a compelling concept, another user tied in the upcoming weapon crafting system, imagining a world where future Destiny Exotics could be built off the strength of older ones: “Imagine being able to build an Exotic Glaive out of repurposed Monte Carlo Parts as a quest.” Part of what makes this an interesting idea is the trouble Bungie has had with keeping guns relevant and useful in the game. From the changes to sunsetting and limiting older weapons’ power, to the removal of the Black Armory content, it certainly seems like this has been a priority target for the game’s future. While all of the game’s older Exotics have been retired to the Monument to Lost Lights, this could add another piece of motivation for players to spend the time unlocking from that vault.

Destiny 2 players want Trace Rifles buff to offset Double Special nerf – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want Trace Rifles buff to offset Double Special nerf BungieFollowing the nerf to double Special loadouts in Season of the Witch, Destiny 2 players are now urging Bungie to consider buffing Trace Rifles with the playerbase being concerned that the laser guns won’t have a place without it. Since Season 15, running two Special weapons had been the meta in Destiny 2. This is because doing so greatly increased the drop rate of Heavy ammo which greatly improved overall DPS. One of the biggest changes to the meta in Season 22 came in the form of a double Special nerf. Running two Special weapons no longer enhances Heavy ammo drop rates driving players back to using Primary guns instead. This nerf hit Trace Rifles hard which are almost exclusively used for ammo economy. However, with the double Special nerf an ammo economy-centric weapon no longer makes much sense leaving the laser guns in an undesirable spot. Destiny 2 fans feel Trace Rifles need damage buff after double special nerf Confused about why anyone would continue to use a Trace RIfle in Season of the Witch, many Destiny 2 players took to Reddit to point out their shortcomings. One such post reads: “Most of Trace Rifle’s appeal came from running Double Specials with optimized ammo efficiency, but now that it’s almost impossible to run Double Specials. I’m having a hard time justifying choosing it over Fusion Rifles/Shotguns/GLs/Snipers when I’m already using a primary.” OP’s proposed solution was for a new Trace Rifle archetype to be added: “I guess I just think it would be cool if we got an ‘Aggressive frame’ trace that sacrifices ammo efficiency for more damage… I like powerful space lasers.” The suggested damage buff proved popular: “They should yes, Traces saw a lot of popularity since Lightfall because of the increased heavy, but as someone who used Hunter Trace since Gyrfalcon rework its damage is severely limited to level or just above content.” Damage buffs weren’t the only potential buff proposed: “No. But I do think they should have an intrinsic special ammo finder or don’t split special ammo pickups with other special weapons.” Another player questioned if Trace Rifle ammo economy was even good to begin with: “I find the ammo economy on Trace Rifles bad… Or it’s just the lack of dmg, idk, but I feel that I have to shoot way too much to kill something, and the ammo just vanishes.” Although double special loadouts have been nerfed in Season of the Witch it’s still possible to use them. However, players now have to take advantage of ammo-increasing effects like Special Ammo Finisher, Aeon Swift, Cenotaph Mask, and Scavenger mods.

Destiny 2 players want to see long-lost weapons return from sunsetting – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want to see long-lost weapons return from sunsetting Destiny 2 players have taken to Reddit to voice their interest in seeing the return of Black Armory weapons, a set of guns that have long been sunset from the game. In a heavily upvoted Reddit thread, fans are asking if the long-lost Season of the Forge weapons can be reissued. The Reddit post has received over 2.5k upvotes showing a clear desire for the return of the arsenal. The Black Armory weapons are fan favorites, and they’ve not been accessible for several years now. During Beyond Light in 2020, Destiny 2 went through a sunsetting phase where it rotated out many older weapons with the intention of doing the same to future ones too. The plans were scrapped due to player outcry, but it was too late for many weapons, including the Black Armory. While sunset weapons remain usable, they can’t be infused to a relevant Power Level meaning they are irrelevant in a lot of content. Should the Black Armory weapons come back? Fans think it’s now time for a return. User MNneck said: “Black Armory had some of the coolest weapon designs, and they’re just sitting in Collections gathering dust”. He also proposed that Ada-1, the current keeper of the Black Armory, should offer a red border version of the weapons each week so players can craft their favorites. Others echoed the sentiment. User Lost-university970 said: “BA weapons were some of my favorite in the whole game, the look and perks on them were sm [so much] fun” One user, WscieklyLeniwiec, said they’ve kept their old favorite around: “I still have my kindled orchid with kill clip and rampage” The Season of the Forge had many weapons players loved like the Kindled Orchid Hand Cannon, Blast Furnace Pulse Rifle, The Ringing Nail Auto Rifle, Hammerhead Machine Gun, and Tatara Gaze Sniper Rifle, to name a few. Of course, these pleas are unlikely to fall on deaf ears over at Bungie. These weapons have become cult classics for older players and the developer is likely looking for the right time to reintroduce them. It’s entirely possible we see these sometime before the Final Shape arrives – but on that front, we will have to wait and see.

Destiny 2 players want to know why Episode Echoes hasn’t reprised a popular auto rifle – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want to know why Episode Echoes hasn’t reprised a popular auto rifle BungieHot off the heels of Destiny 2’s best expansion to date, Episode Echoes, Bungie’s replacement for Seasons, has entered full swing. What sets the former apart from its predecessor remains to be seen, but already, fans have taken issue with one component of the content on offer. Bungie frequently reprises weapons from previous Seasons for Guardians who missed out on them the first time around. In Episode Echoes, the studio has pulled five guns from the Destiny Content Vault first introduced in Season of Dawn and put them back on loot tables. The problem? One of the most popular weapons from that era, Steelfeather Repeater, has been left behind to continue gathering dust. In its original form, the auto rifle was a Kinetic, rapid-fire archetype and proved to be a popular choice in PvE due to its access to a strong Perk pool. Had it been reintroduced in Episode Echoes, it would have followed suit with all current Legendary primaries and adopted Stasis or Strand as a damage type. Alas, it wasn’t to be, though nobody is quite sure why Bungie opted to omit the fan favorite. Responses on a Reddit thread trying to suss an answer to that question range from seriously speculative to humorously irreverant. “So Atheon’s Epilogue won’t be lonely”, came one response, referencing the Vault of Glass auto rifle from Destiny 1 not being reprised when the Raid was added to Destiny 2. “They didn’t want it to outshine the new 720 Comp AR,” came one response, referencing The Riposte, a new AR added to Crucible’s Competitive playlist in The Final Shape. Likewise, Veiled Threat, another rapid-fire frame available from Breach Executable, likely factored in Bungie’s decision not to oversaturate the sandbox with so many weapons of the same archetype. Whatever the reason, five of the seven weapons originally added in Season of Dawn are back. Check out our Episode Echoes summary for the full list.

Destiny 2 players want The Final Shape expansion delayed to fix server issues – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want The Final Shape expansion delayed to fix server issues BungieThe Destiny 2 community has called for Bungie to delay The Final Shape to solidify and improve the base game following a series of server issues since Lightfall’s launch. Lightfall is Destiny 2’s newest expansion, released on February 28 at the start of Season 21. Although the content itself has been largely well received by the community the server issues that arrived with it have not. Throughout Season 20 multiple patches have required several hours of extended maintenance. During these periods players are unable to access Destiny 2’s servers and play the game. Now the community asked Bungie to consider delaying Destiny 2’s next expansion to work on improving the ongoing server problems. Destiny 2 players call for next expansion to be delayed A Destiny 2 fan took to Reddit asking Bungie to consider delaying The FInal Shape to spend more time on solidifying the base game. More specifically, the post focuses on the server issues that have been prevalent in Destiny 2 since the arrival of Lightfall. The Reddit post reads: “Since Lightfall, it’s seemed like every patch has launched with downtime that usually lasts multiple hours. As a developer, I hate fighting fires and it makes me less effective on other things.” Continuing on the post says: “Given the lack of stability, as a player, I would be happy to wait a month or two if we could get back to the stability that we had pretty solidly the last two years.” Several responses agreed with one user replying: “I agree completely, polish the game a bit further so it’s in a better place. All these emergency downtime fixes, patches, hotfixes to something that’s broken or gets broken by an update – it’s becoming quite old.” Some other users weren’t convinced Bungie has much of a motive to delay anything: “Considering how financially successful Lightfall was, there’s no chance. There’s no incentive.” A few players didn’t like the idea at all: “I’m gonna have to disagree. The team working on new content and expansions are most definitely not the same team responsible for the server issues and game engine problems.” The Final Shape is set to be Destiny 2’s final expansion. Expected to release in early 2024, little is known about the finale other than that it will conclude the ongoing Light and Darkness saga.

Destiny 2 players want one simple Onslaught change that would make a huge difference – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want one simple Onslaught change that would make a huge difference BungieOnslaught is one of the more recent additions to Destiny 2, added to the game via the Into the Light update. As such, players are keen to share their feedback, with many feeling that one simple change would improve the horde mode considerably. Onslaught is a wave-based PvE mode that tasks players with defending key areas in the face of incursions by The Witness’ forces. It features 10 or 50 waves for players to survive (depending on the version) and offers a more challenging Legend difficulty variant. In a fast-paced mode like Onslaught, small changes can make a huge difference to a team’s chance of success. As part of that, many would like developer Bungie to add a wave counter to the screen at all times, allowing them to better keep track of progress. Explaining why this feature would be useful, one fan expressed, “Just a really small but really needed QOL change for Onslaught. The current wave you’re on should literally always be displayed on screen for every single second of a run. The fact that it is never visible unless you’re currently in a non-boss wave seems pretty weird lol.” They continued, “Just a big ol’ “WAVE 35” in the corner ALL THE TIME,” making it clear exactly what change they feel Bungie needs to make. Another added: “Completely agree. Aside from ‘WTF killed me?’ the most used phrase during Onslaught is ‘Which round are we doing?’ when I play with a mic.” The idea behind this suggestion is that it makes things more convenient and gives Guardians more information to plan. Incidentally, players in the same thread also called for a bank to store Scrap, so that teams can contribute to each other’s accumulated total. Making this point, a different player stated, “I just wish if you’re short you could put in what you have and have your teammate fill the rest. Or have a bank at the ADU for you to donate scrap. Plenty of times, I came up short for an upgrade or purchase” The future for Onslaught is unclear, with Bungie tight-lipped on the fate of the horde mode after the release of The Final Shape. The Destiny 2 developer has been known to remove beloved content with Sunsetting being the most infamous example.

Destiny 2 players want Nightfall loot update as new Sword eludes them – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want Nightfall loot update as new Sword eludes them Destiny 2 players want Bungie to change the featured Nightfall weapon to the elusive new Sword that has yet to make an appearance despite double loot being active. The highly anticipated March 5 update gave Destiny 2 players plenty of new weapons to farm. From the exciting reissued SMG in Prophecy to the new Heavy GL that offers unprecedented add clear, Guardians aren’t lacking in things to do. However, not every new weapon has been made available yet with The Slammer, a new Sword, yet to make its debut. This Stasis Sword is one of a kind as it can roll Eager Edge and Chain Reaction in the third slot plus Bait and Switch and Cold Steel in the fourth slot. Many had anticipated it would arrive alongside the double Nightfall rewards added with the weekly reset, but that isn’t the case and the community isn’t happy about it. Destiny 2 fans want new Sword from Nightfall double loot Destiny 2 players are calling for Bungie to update the featured Nightfall weapon to make the most of this week’s double rewards. While it is currently the Pre Astyanax IV Bow, they want it changed to The Slammer, a new Stasis Sword. Asking as such on Reddit, one player requested, “Bungie, change the nightfall reward to the slammer,” followed by, “That’s all,” wanting the Destiny developer to rotate the new Sword in during double rewards week. Furious at the new Sword not being featured, one of the most upvoted responses stated, “I don’t get why they keep doing this. They add the weapons to drive engagement, and then do stupid stuff like double rewards on old weapons. As soon as I saw the bow, I lost all interest in GMs for the week. Bungie really needs to get a clue.” Others remarked, “So sad it’s the bow for double reward. I guess grind for mats lol,” as well as, “This NF sucks, if they change it to the sword I hope they change the NF, otherwise it doesn’t make a difference if we have to wait,” looking for both a weapon and Nightfall change. Not everyone was sold on the idea though with one Guardian replying, “Pre-Astyanax is an absolute b*tch and a half to get a god roll of. Slammer is gonna be WAY easier to get a god roll of. It doesn’t need a double loot week.” Bungie has been known to change weekly content based on the demands of the community. In the week leading up to Prophecy’s loot refresh it was rotated in as the featured weekly Dungeon after players asked to farm the old weapons before they left the game.

Destiny 2 players want nerfed weapon class reverted back to its prime – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want nerfed weapon class reverted back to its prime Reflecting on the current state of Swords in Destiny 2, players are pushing Bungie to revert a previously fan-favorite weapon class to its meta glory days. It seems hard to believe but there was a time when Swords dominated Destiny 2’s meta. More specifically, Vortex Frame Swords combined with a Witherhoard offered the best damage potential of any Weapon combination in Season of Arrivals. However, this frame was heavily nerfed by Season 14 with both the seasonal artifact long gone and both its damage and ammo reduced. These changes saw once-meta Swords like Falling Guillotine slip into obscurity. Nine Seasons and an entire Sword rework down the line and most Swords remain an unpopular choice amongst Guardians pushing them to call for change. Destiny 2 players want Swords back in the meta A Reddit post pushing for Swords to get reverted to a prior state asked Bungie: “Can we undo the sword nerfs from around beyond light?” before elaborating “Vortex frames were busted when they released, but now they do less dps and lower total damage than adaptive.” Believing the old Vortex Frame Swords wouldn’t be problematic anymore, the post continues: “With how far other damage options have come, whirlwind blades pre nerf version would be far from op. It doesn’t stand a chance against apex predator.” “Laments also falling behind, it’s debatably worse than bequest, which is really only used on crota… Swords should be a lot better than they are, they just aren’t worth the risk and situational requirment when things like apex predator exist,” OP concluded making their case. Several other players agreed wanting to see Vortex Frame Swords return with one reply stating: “The most fun I have ever had in this game was the sword meta in arrivals” “I miss old Lucent Blade. Elemental Shards + Supercharged on Behemoth was 🥵I just miss the old system in general… it was much more interesting,” another Guardian explained also wanting to see Swords back in the meta. Thinking back on how good Swords were in Season of Arrivals, another person commented: “I wish. Caster Frame swords were actually good. They use up too much ammo for range but then the damage isn’t even good” While Swords aren’t in the best place right now Vortex Frames are a little underrated. A crafted Death’s Razor with Relentless Strikes + Surrounded is surprisingly powerful and worth trying out. Equally, Exotic Swords like The Lament and Bequest can hold their own even in harder content.

Destiny 2 players want more cubes as they tire of orbs rolling off maps – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want more cubes as they tire of orbs rolling off maps Destiny 2 players lament Orbs of Power changes that have modified their physics to make them more realistic. The problem is they’re now rolling around and off maps. There are a lot of orbs in Destiny 2. From The Traveler, Taken Blights, Servitors, planets, and whatever Eris interacted with at the end of Shadowkeep. They are everywhere, and all have key importance in the world of Destiny. However, in terms of the ones Guardians interact with the most, Orbs of Power is essential to gameplay. When it comes to builds, Orbs of Power are the main currency that makes most work. Depending on the mods you have, they can make you stronger, give you healing, return grenades or melee damage, and charge you up – they can do just about anything useful related to your build as long as you have the right mods on. However, the orbs have been acting differently due to a recent update. The physics of the Orbs of Power are actually improved, moving more like actual spheres. This was due to an update that allowed orbs to be picked up by the Shoot to Loot weapon perk. However, this improvement hasn’t been universally welcomed as the physics are causing issues for some players. Should these Destiny 2 orbs be cubes instead? In a Reddit thread with over 1.1k upvotes at the time of writing, user AdLate8669 complained that “Orbs of Power now have stronger physics and roll all over the place, especially off cliffs.” They added: “If it was a consequence of the new mods we got, I’d rather give back the new mods and have the orbs go back to how they used to be.” While some annoying orbs rolling around seems an okay price to pay for gameplay benefits, the community has had some fun coming up with ways around this. Almost all of them center around changing the shape of the Orbs of Power. “Motes of power vs Cubes of Power,” one player jokes. Another says, “I’m all for cubes of power!” One player suggests, “Their hit box should be changed to a pyramid shape.” Another goes to bat, saying, “Giving them a hit box of a dodecahedron would probably help.” “D20 orb gang,” another player concurs. Of course, Destiny has always had issues with things you pick up in-game acting in annoying ways. Motes in Gambit are notorious for falling through or off a map, so maybe the shape is only so helpful here. Hopefully, Bungie can come to some solution. It is definitely annoying when an orb you need goes missing from the map.

Destiny 2 players propose big innovation to Adept Weapon Focusing – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players propose big innovation to Adept Weapon Focusing Destiny 2 players have proposed a change to Adept Weapon focusing to unlock the regular version of the weekly featured gun once the Adept version has been obtained. Destiny 2’s Season of the Witch saw a range of new guns added to vendors including the highly desirable Warden’s Law, Pre Astyanax IV, and Cataphract GL3. Each of these weapons has an adept version that can either be unlocked by completing GM Nightfalls or going flawless in Trails of Osiris. These adept versions can utilize special Weapon Mods that offer greater capabilities than their ordinary equivalents. However, there is one quirk of Adept Weapon focusing that the looter shooter’s community wants changed as soon as possible. Destiny 2 players want Adept gun focusing changes implemented The Destiny community has asked Bungie to consider changing how Adept Weapon Focusing works in regard to how it interacts with regular guns. Making the proposal one Reddit post stated: “If I earn the adept weapon in a GM, the regular version should be insta-unlocked at Zavala. If I am running GMs and have earned/unlocked the adept version of a weapon, why should I have to run lower versions of the nightfall to earn the regular weapon.” “Either that, or drop a regular version in addition, the first time you get an adept in the GM. I understand the need for Bungie to see me grind for everything, but this seems senseless. Please make this happen,” they suggested looking to improve the existing system. The proposed change proved popular with one fan responding: “Agreed. The fact that platinum GMs guarantee an adept drop but platinum master doesn’t guarantee a regular drop makes no sense. I have more adepts unlocked in collections than I do regular versions of the same weapon because of this.” “Agreed. Heroic and Legendary Nightfall need a massive drop rate increase, ” and “The non adept versions are rarer now than the adepts. Kinda silly,” were among the comments highlighting a flaw of the current system. Although the suggested change was for Grandmaster Nightfalls, the same logic applies to all of Destiny’s Adept-eligible game modes. Destiny 2 treats Adept and regular weapons as two entirely different guns hence why obtaining one does not currently allow you to focus both.

Destiny 2 players want controversial feature removed from Guardian Ranks – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want controversial feature removed from Guardian Ranks BungieDestiny 2 players are asking for commendations to be removed as a barrier for Guardian Ranks. Both Guardian Ranks and Commendations are new systems introduced in Destiny 2: Lightfall. While they both have merit, it’s not been clear sailing for both as the systems have come under criticism for various reasons. For Commendations, the system is a little clunky. It asks players, at the end of an activity, to hand out commendations to all the fireteam members. However, this screen can fail to show, players can leave early, or the commendations can be thrown out randomly with no consideration at all, making it tough to get what you want. Guardian Ranks on the other hand have had some more esoteric struggles. While a rank in-game is meant to be a showcase of a player’s mastery, it had already been used for elitist purposes. That’s if players interact with it at all, as some refuse to chase the objectives the game sets out. However, some are having an even bigger issue, especially when the two mix in Destiny 2. Guardians are asking for commendations to be decoupled from ranks In a Reddit thread, user Brambo93 asked for commendations to be removed from Guardian Rank considerations. The post has reached 1.1k upvotes at the time of writing. They stated, quite simply: “No one give it anymore [sic]”. Others concurred, saying, “Matchmade, don’t expect anything”. Another posted: “Commendations shouldn’t be tied to any progression or rewards”. However, another was critical of all of Guardian Ranks. They said, “People just don’t care about it since the rank system reflects nothing of value.” While there is certainly potential for both the Guardian Ranks and commendation systems, both feel like they could use some work. It’s especially a problem if players are blocked from progressing their Guardian Ranks because they either aren’t getting the right commendations or aren’t getting any at all. Hopefully, Bungie can keep working on both to smooth out these issues and bring both to their full potential.

Destiny 2 players want changes to “bloated” Dungeon loot pools – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want changes to “bloated” Dungeon loot pools BungieDestiny 2 players have been campaigning for a revamp of how rewards work in the shooter’s numerous Dungeons. The pinnacle PvE activity, second only to Raids in terms of difficulty, promises armor and weapons aplenty for successfully clearing encounters, but Guardians have taken issue with the randomness of loot being awarded for their efforts. Calling for changes on Reddit, one user specifically asked for Dungeons to adopt Destiny 2’s Pattern system, stating “Can we update all Dungeons to have Red Border weapons? It stops being a ‘chase’ when a loot pool is too bloated to have good odds of getting what you want.” “I farmed the first encounter of Warlord’s Ruin for seven hours and didn’t get a single roll of Indebted Kindness with Voltshot,” they continued, signing off with “Can we just make these weapons craftable?” While responses didn’t necessarily agree with the addition of craftable Dungeon weapons, most shared the sentiment that adjustments needed to happen. “Dungeon drops should always be at least a weapon +/- armor. Getting five armor drops in a row feels bad,” opined one comment, referring to the fact that each Dungeon encounter can only drop one of the two. “Honestly, I’d prefer if there was an option to turn off armor drops for Dungeons. Once you get the gear you won’t get more unless it’s Master mode (Artifice armor),” another added. “I like that a hard activity has RNG drops personally. The problem for me truly is armor getting in the way,” they continued. Others took the discourse one step further by requesting older Dungeons such as Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy receive Master difficulties and associated Artifice armor drops. “They’d have to really up the difficulty of those two for them to give out Artifice armor,” one reply cautioned, referencing that years of power creep have made both activities much easier than newer Dungeons. Whether Bungie considers an overhaul as necessary remains to be seen. The developer could opt to introduce changes in future Dungeon releases before retroactively adjusting existing content. For now, the most efficient way to get your hands on desired rolls in Warlord’s Ruin will be to target the encounter known to have a chance at dropping the loot you want.

Destiny 2 players want bygone weekly activity to make a comeback – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want bygone weekly activity to make a comeback BungieWhen discussing past features that are no longer in Destiny 2, players agreed that Banshee’s Armsday is the activity they’d like to see return most. In the original Destiny, Banshee had Armsdays, a weekly activity that challenged participants to fulfill specific weapon objectives. Although it was later replaced by daily bounties some players have fond memories of the feature. What fans really liked about Armsday was the Foundry Orders that let players roll for a set gun each week. Every Wednesday on Armsday, the chosen weapon would be delivered with a random roll giving players the chance to score an exciting Legendary gun. It proved so popular that when deciding which past feature the Destiny 2 community would want back, Armsday was the most common answer. Destiny 2 players want Banshee to host Armsday again With many Destiny 2 players disgruntled with the state of the looter shooter, many are now considering options on how Bungie could improve it. One such idea was to bring back old fan-favorite features. While the original post wanted seasonal ritual weapons back, it was the proposal for Armsday to return that resonated with the community most. Making the suggestion, one player posted: “Armsday. Progressing the basic foundry frames and getting a weapon roll the following week was a fun loop.” Others were quick to agree with another fan replying: “The times I’ve mentioned this, people complain that they had to wait a week. I’ve been playing D1 a lot lately, and I very much miss Armsday. Some people say that banshee selling guns is more convenient, and sure it might be but it’s boring as hell.” Another member of the community proposed a way to improve Armsday: “This but it gives you world drops. That way you can target them. Funnelweb is one of the only extremely good void SMGs and last season was a great time to have one with good perks.” Outside of Armsday, some other suggestions for content that should return to Destiny 2 included Strike-specific loot, Adventures, Glass needles, Tribute Hall, and sunset campaigns.

Destiny 2 players want Bungie to “sunset” the Transmog system – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players want Bungie to “sunset” the Transmog system BungieTransmog is a system in Destiny 2 that allows you to convert any armor into cosmetic items, but a flaw in its design has players calling for it to be overhauled or sunset entirely. Transmog was first introduced to Bungie’s looter shooter in Season 14. It requires users to pick up bounties, finish them to get a Synthcord, and then submit it at the Loom in the Tower to get a Synthweave. You need one Synthweave to Transmog one piece of armor, and you need five in total to complete a set. The maximum number of bounties you can complete per episode is 10. This limits how many cosmetics you can create, at least without spending money. You can always buy the Transmog material from the Eververse Store if you need more, but that costs Silver. Many players feel this is a bit restrictive, and they showcased their disappointment on the Destiny subreddit, with one of them commenting, “Transmog should be free or cost in-game currency. There’s a ton of RPGs and ARPGs that do this already.” while another user added, “The Transmog system is ridiculous and overly convoluted.” Some players are unhappy that Bungie has tied Transmog to Silver, with one of them claiming, “I got so many armors I want to turn into ornaments. Still not spending silver on them though.” However, other users are fine with the current system but want the number of bounties to be increased to “15 per episode” to make it less restrictive. Fashion plays a big role in Destiny 2, but one player felt they “never have enough synth to unlock” everything, making them avoid a specific character. Since transmog only applies to individual armor and each class has unique armor, the current restrictions make it difficult to unlock cosmetics for all three classes. There’s room for the Transmog system to be improved, with games like Monster Hunter letting users change the appearance of their characters without any additional grind. In fact, in Monster Hunter World, you earn the materials for layered armor (Transmog) by simply killing monsters and completing events. However, Bungie hasn’t touched the Transmog system since its release, and there don’t appear to be any immediate plans to make any changes either. If it does happen and the player demands are entertained, we will update you with the information.

Destiny 2 players vexed after Neomuna drop rates see all time low – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players vexed after Neomuna drop rates see all time low BungieDestiny 2 players are not happy after Bungie nerfed the already low drop rates of Red Border weapons from Heroic Patrols further, making it a huge grind to obtain them. The Season of the Deep update saw a range of changes implemented into Destiny 2 including the arrival of fishing, giving players the ability to make their own Red Border Weapons, and a new dungeon. However, not all changes in the new season have been popular. The nerfs to Aggressive frame Submachine Guns and various popular Exotics have proven somewhat controversial. But no nerf has upset the community more than the decreased Neomuna drop rates which are so low that players are starting to give up on getting the planet’s unique drops altogether. Neomuna drop rate nerf upsets Destiny 2 players Destiny 2 players are upset with the Neomuna drop rate nerfs introduced in Season of the Deep. Some members of the community have labeled the nerf “utter nonsense,” believing all it does is make the grind unnecessarily long. The post reads: “I’m not a fan of most nerfs but I kinda get the general idea. But this is just complete and utter nonsense.” Elaborating further OP says: “First of all, the drop rate wasn’t high! It was horrible before. People had to target-farm the golden patrols and even then it took many people a ridiculous amount of patrols and rank-ups to get the red borders.” The post concludes by criticizing Bungie for the nerf, insisting that all it achieves is discouraging players to farm the Red Border weapons. This stance proved popular with one reply underlining their experience farming weapons: “I was season rank 320+ last season, and have been farming Nimbus and Quinn’s weekly challenges every week on all characters. I have 3 patterns unlocked so far (Sniper, HC, Fusion).” Another user was glad they avoided the content: “I had a feeling Bungie was going to f**k something up on Neomuna. But I didn’t know they’d f**k up this bad. Holy shit. I personally have not farmed for Red Border weapons. But after hearing this, I’m glad I ain’t!” Some Destiny 2 players questioned if the rewards were even any good: “I haven’t even tried to farm for any of the Neomuna weapons. Are any of them decent? I feel like it’s not worth the grind.” The exact drop rate of Red Border weapons from VIP Patrols is unknown. Bungie rarely reveals specific drop rates leaving it up to the community to make estimates. Although VIP Patrols were nerfed players can now receive Red Border Weapons from Heroic Public Events on Neomuna. This offers an alternative for those looking to farm Neptune’s craftable guns.

Destiny 2 players think vehicles should have weaknesses like actual enemies – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players think vehicles should have weaknesses like actual enemies BungieDestiny 2 players think vehicles like the Thresher should have “fleshed out” weaknesses similar to actual enemy forces. The Cabal gunships known as Threshers have tormented players throughout Destiny 2’s history. However, the Lightfall expansion turned the enemy gunships into even more of a threat. Players found the vehicles were somehow able to output more damage if a player ran the sequel at a higher frame rate. For many Guardians, then, this meant the Thresher class of vehicle could kill them after only one hit. Bungie later issued a fix to nerf the gunship’s damage output but some users still think the likes of Threshers remain overpowered. Destiny 2 fans want vehicles to have weak spots like other enemies In a post on the Destiny subreddit, a user named PudimDasAguas shared a vehicle-related suggestion that’s generated quite a bit of buzz in the community. The Redditor thinks if the threat of gunships is going to remain high, Bungie should consider adding calculated weak points “to destroy vehicles faster or to disable them.” For example, turret-type enemies like Shriekers are incredibly powerful, yet their attacks can be countered with blinding grenades. The player continued: “Considering their lethality, Threshers should have some weak point in their sides to take them down or simply have some way to break their turrets.” Many Destiny 2 players think this suggestion is spot on, based on comments in the Reddit thread. One person wrote, “100%, sure [there are] ways to kill them, but having them fleshed out like an actual enemy would be good.” This same user offered some suggestions of their own, saying introducing a “destroyable & crit’able turret” to Threshers would make precision-oriented weapons more viable. In addition, some users think the ability to hijack Destiny 2’s enemy vehicles à la Halo would also do the trick. Evidently, Destiny fans agree that certain weapons have become entirely too overpowered.

Destiny 2 players urge Bungie to revamp core Dungeon and Raid mechanic – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players urge Bungie to revamp core Dungeon and Raid mechanic BungieDestiny 2 players are urging developer Bungie to revamp a core mechanic of how Dungeons and Raids rotate which would change how Guardians interact with them forever. A new Dungeon and Raid is rotated in as featured content each week. When featured, these high-end PvE activities can be farmed over and over while still producing loot. The other Dungeons and Raids that aren’t featured only produce loot on the first completion. In practice, this means that it is only possible to farm god rolls from Dungeons and Raids when they are featured. This has been the case since the rotator when introduced in Season 17, when Bungie added the system as a means to bring back old content. However, almost two years on, and now the community thinks it’s time for a change. Destiny 2 fans want more featured Dungeons & Raids Wanting to improve how Dungeons and Raids rotate, a user on Reddit proposed, “I think we should start considering making 2 Raids/Dungeons featured,” a change that would see four Raids and Dungeons featured weekly instead of two. The post explained why this would be good: “There’s 8, going on 9 Raids in the game, and waiting 7 weeks for Vow to come back around so I can finish Disciple-Slayer isn’t really the most fun thing in the world. I’m fairly certain many in the community would agree, and I’m sure there’s talk of it amongst Bungie devs themselves.” This proposal aligns with the views of Datto, a prevalent content creator who explained what changes he would like to see in a video uploaded on March 14. In this commentary, Datto stated, “It is time for the weekly rotator to die,” questioning why players have to wait several weeks to farm the guns they want instead of diving head-first into their preferred content. Though most players agreed that the rotator needs to change, there were some disagreements over how this should happen. Some preferred the idea of more Dungeons and Raids rotating weekly while others wanted the mechanic removed entirely believing it has long since served its purpose. Either way, it’s clear that Guardians are tired of the current system and want Bungie to update it to give them more freedom when picking which content to farm.

Destiny 2 players urge Bungie to embrace unloved Exotics after 1K Voices bug – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players urge Bungie to embrace unloved Exotics after 1K Voices bug DexertoGuardians in Destiny 2 are urging the developers Bungie to embrace unloved Exotics like One Thousand Voices after the weapon was bugged during the week-long sword event. Destiny 2 has been having a bit of a turbulent time as of late. Following the announcement of massive layoffs, reduced content, and also leaks of a mobile spinoff title, Guardians’ patience for the franchise has been tested. The devs have put in plenty of work to try and entice and encourage the community back in light of it all, saying that the recent 10-year anniversary of the franchise was them “just getting started”. This was combined with other in-game events and celebrations to restore Guardians’ faith in the game, knowing that the devs were committed to keeping it up. One such event was the week-long Sword celebration. This event heavily featured swords, giving them regenerating ammo, and making them go to weapons for any content you were doing. However, a bug meant that this effect was also granted to One Thousand Voices, which meant plenty of players picked it up. Now players want the devs to do this for other weapons, embracing the more fun and lighthearted side of Destiny’s weapons. Because of the bug, a spotlight was shone on top of One Thousand Voices, and it reminded the community of just how fun the weapon was. “This has been a super fun weekend, like funny guns weekend. We really should have more oopsies on exotics that are normally impractical because it’s fun, plain and simple,” one post claimed. “I think they should just randomly give an exotic heavy regenerating ammo every weekend when Xur is around., another chimed in. While this bug was originally unintended, Bungie decided to let it remain for the week, allowing Guardians to wreak havoc with the unlimited ammo. Now, players want Bungie to understand that the majority of Guardians want the game for its “nonsense fun”. “If Bungie had half a brain at this point, they’d realize a majority of players just want nonsense fun (only 11% player base even completed 1+ raid) and will make this a bi-yearly event.” “Honestly I hope to see them do weeks like this in general. Like a machine gun week or a rocket launcher week. I don’t usually use swords and this week has given me an opportunity to really play with them,” a second pleaded. With Bungie’s increased commitment to communicate with its player base, it could mean we see more of these types of events in the future, letting Guardians mess around with Exotics once left to the wayside.

Destiny 2 players underline Content Vault’s “tragic” effect on new player experience – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players underline Content Vault’s “tragic” effect on new player experience BungieThe introduction of the Content Vault into Destiny 2 was one of the most controversial moves in the history of the game. It has a lot of significant effects and some players have been lamenting everything the new players are missing out on. For those who aren’t aware, the Content Vault essentially removes significant chunks of older content. From whole planets to individual activities and minor locations, there is a lot that new players will seemingly never get to experience. Though there is a slim chance these iconic pieces of content could re-emerge, it seems increasingly unlikely. As a result, much of the game’s loot has disappeared alongside their associated locales, never to return. Now, more seasoned Destiny 2 players are sharing their sympathies for players who will never get to experience the magic of the early game. Destiny 2 Content Vault contains some of the most iconic loot In a post on Reddit, one empathetic player shared their sadness over the fact that many of the game’s newer players are unable to enjoy some of its best content. Many were quick to agree and keen to share their own biggest misses: “I miss the underbelly. Getting lost, mini-stealth for chests. If they actually kept Haunted Leviathan as a patrol space and expanded it for the sheer size of the location….we could have had the D2 dreadnought experience!” Another added: “Not just new players that are missing out. Some older players may also have never done any of those raids. Now, because of Fireteam Finder being very easily accessible, maybe they want to have a go but can’t.” Though physical items are undoubtedly a big miss, others pointed toward jaw-dropping moments in time. One said: “I was in another thread where someone posted a video link that showed the entrance of the Leviathan. Someone asked what that awesome-looking area was and it made me big sad that there’s so much cool s**t they’ll never see/do.” Though much of this content will likely never see the light of day again, there are slivers of hope. The emergence of classic areas and raids like the Cosmodrome and Vault of Glass shows that the developer is not entirely against the idea. Whether that means we’re getting Leviathan back at some point is unclear.

Destiny 2 players tired of “truly awful” Onslaught issue added in The Final Shape – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players tired of “truly awful” Onslaught issue added in The Final Shape BungieDestiny 2 players collectively slammed a recurring pain point with the game’s Onslaught activity, calling for changes to one of its “truly awful” maps. Introduced with Into The Light, Onslaught, a classic base defense mode, boasts lucrative rewards in Brave weapons and rotates weekly between three maps: Midtown, Vostok, and Mothyards. Calling for the map’s removal from Onslaught’s rotation on Reddit, one player listed their issues with the Cosmodrome location. “Adds spawn 50 light years away? Yep. Low add density due to them breaking up from packs and going who knows where? Yep.” “It’s so much worse than the other two [maps] it’s not even funny,” the rant continued, calling on Bungie to offer double drops for Mothyards specifically, as it was “that sh*tty.” Before The Final Shape’s release, Guardians could select which map they wanted to complete an Onslaught run on. Why this option was removed isn’t known, but some suggested bringing back “the ability to choose the map in non-matchmade versions” could be the only necessary fix. “I agree. Since The Final Shape, the few times I’ve run Onslaught, it’s 100% always been Mothyards. It’s miserable,” another response commiserated. Contrary to popular opinion, a handful of comments stated a preference for content not to be removed wholesale. Bungie reinstating the option for Guardians to choose their preferred arena would make this unnecessary. The developer has indicated via a previous update that reintroduced Brave weapon attuning that it isn’t averse to rolling back or improving Into The Light content. It’s not outside the realms of possibility that feedback will be acted on, but for now, the studio’s attention will likely be on ensuring a smooth launch of Echoes Act 3. The final third of Destiny 2’s first Episode goes live on August 27, bringing more story content, new activities, an Exotic Mission, and more.

Destiny 2 players tired of Savathun’s Spire speedrunners leaving them lootless – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players tired of Savathun’s Spire speedrunners leaving them lootless BungieDestiny 2 players are growing tired of their fellow Guardians speedrunning through Savanthun’s Spire and not letting teammates trigger and collect the secret chests, leaving them with less loot. Savanthun’s Spire is the main seasonal activity for Season of the Witch. It’s a three-man activity where players are challenged to clear three randomized encounters with platforming segments in between. These platforming segments contain secret chests that reward additional loot and Deepsight weapons once per week, per character. They offer a great method of working towards the seasonal Red Borders and reputation for the seasonal vendor. However, that restriction of only being able to loot them once per week has resulted in higher-skilled players speedrunning the activity, ignoring the chests, and preventing their Fireteam from claiming the loot. Savathun’s Spire secret chest limit leaves Destiny 2 fans empty-handed A Destiny 2 player posted on Reddit complaining that their teammates were speedrunning through Savanthun’s Spire, eventually teleporting them to the final encounter and left unable to loot the secret chests. The post pleaded: “Dear Savathun’s Spire speedrunners: Please open the chests as you go past. And wait at the last one. Over the weekend I ran into a number of speedrunners/grinders who were running through as fast as they could and skipping the chests.” They continued: “For the love of your fireteam, please at least hit the emblems as you go past. I understand that you may already have the rewards, but they still award table rep. Which a lot of us are still looking for.” One response agreed: “…seeing the solo steamrollers is really discouraging for someone who picked Destiny up as their first FPS. I don’t even have time to kill enemies because the majority of players can solo steamroll things like seasonal activities/Strikes, which I would argue should be the place for people of my level to improve.” One of the branded ‘speedrunners’ explained why some players do this: “Its only 10 Rep and 300 Glimmer after you first grab it to me that’s not worth my time waiting as blunt as it is” Another like-minded Guardian replied: “I’ll wait 30 seconds or so but I’ve seen people struggle for over 5 minutes on the platforming section before the second chest. Not waiting for that. The rep isn’t worth wasting that much time.” The consensus among experienced players is that the rewards given after the first claim of each week are not worthwhile. Instead, it is seen as more efficient to complete the activity faster to earn Vendor Rep, with each completion giving 250 Ritual Table Reputation.

Destiny 2 players thrilled after MTX shader is added to Bright Dust store – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players thrilled after MTX shader is added to Bright Dust store This week’s Destiny 2 update saw a previously MTX-exclusive shader that could only be purchased with Silver introduced to the Bright Dust store, letting players acquire it without spending real money for the first time. Microtransactions are a controversial topic in the Destiny community. While most players don’t have an issue with Bungie charging for cosmetics, some feel the focus on the Eververse Store has detracted from the game’s core content. But the real problem that frustrates many Guardians is that the looter shooter has seen more and more content paywalled over time. The likes of Dungeon Keys, Event Cards, and even some shaders require Silver – Destiny’s premium currency – to purchase. However, Bungie may be listening after all with a change to how it handles premium shaders being received well by the community. Silver-only shader is now available in Destiny 2’s Bright Dust store With this week’s Destiny 2 update on August 8, players can now purchase the Ego Malign shader from the Bright Dust store. This premium shader gives weapons and armor a bone-white look with dark blue trim. and is available for 300 Bright Dust. It will remain in the store until next week’s reset on August 15. It was previously only available for 1,100 Silver as part of the Bad Ahamkara Bundle. Seeing a Silver-only shader become available in the Bright Dust store has delighted players with many praising Bungie for the move. One such Guardian posted on Reddit: “Basically you pay Silver if you want it early, or wait ’till next season for Bright Dust like some theorized. Sounds good to me then.” Several other players were equally positive responding with the likes of “That’s actually pretty good news wtf,” and “Praise Bungie, Bungie good now.” While the overall reception was favorable one fan questioned the lack of communication: “Eververse could use some comms to clear the air on exactly what we should expect from the store. Pricing, availability, prospective schedules for purchasing, etc. Clear the air and lay it all out for us.” This surprising turn of events follows August’s State of the Game which left players divided, as Bungie promised revamps to PvP but effectively abandoned Gambit.

Destiny 2 players think Strand already has a major flaw in Lightfall – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players think Strand already has a major flaw in Lightfall BungieAfter months of waiting, Destiny 2: Lightfall has arrived, but it’s not taken players long to find a big problem with Strand, Lightfall’s new subclass. Following on from the success of The Witch Queen, Destiny 2: Lightfall brings players one step closer to the end of the game’s overarching story, and in doing so has welcomed the Strand subclass to the fold. Like Beyond Light’s Stasis, Strand is an interesting new addition that can be permanently unlocked and features prominently in the Lightfall campaign. Eager Destiny 2 fans have already been hands-on with Lightfall, with some making it to the end of the game already, and have voiced their displeasure over a certain aspect (no pun intended) of Strand. The Strand cooldown feels too long in Destiny 2: Lightfall Just as in Beyond Light, Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion spends a lot of the campaign teaching players how to best use the Strand subclass. It can eventually be unlocked, but it seems that when you do, Strand’s much-hyped grapple mechanic suffers a great cooldown penalty. “Getting to play the entire story with a fast-recharging grapple only to unlock Strand and discover that the fastest cooldown you can get is almost a minute feels like s**t,” said one frustrated Destiny 2 Reddit post. The OP continued: “At first, I was expecting maybe a 20-second cooldown since you sacrifice a grenade and the punch is dangerous without doing a ton of damage. Once all the cooldowns got normal during the campaign, I started to assume that short couple of seconds was the cooldown, and I was ecstatic. After the campaign. Yeesh. I just don’t think the grapple is good enough vs a grenade to warrant anything over 30 seconds, let alone double that.” The OP certainly wasn’t alone with this though, with one user commenting: “This is something Bungie does not understand in the slightest. You need something strong in the game. Not just neutral but STRONG. You will still need to be careful in difficult content but people don’t have the time to grind out hours each day anyway so rather be a bit more overpowered than underpowered.” Another upvoted user believes that a simple sacrifice could be made: “It feels like losing your grenade is already a pretty massive price to pay for grapple, so why not make the grapple have a really quick cooldown?” Needless to say, there’s a bit of a mixed reaction to Strand in the early stages of Destiny 2: Lightfall, so we might have to see if the consensus changes once the dust begins to settle. However, it’s important to remember, many of the fragments for the subclass are still locked. Players won’t be able to contend with Strand in its entirety until at least March 10 after the World’s First Raid Race is over. Perhaps some builds will emerge that really unlock the power of the subclass and make it come into its own. Thus far Woven Mail looks like it could be very powerful, but that isn’t the grapple fantasy some players will be hoping for. We ourselves believe that Destiny 2: Lightfall has plenty of bright moments, but has it missed a big opportunity?

Destiny 2 players think fan-favorite character is back from the dead – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players think fan-favorite character is back from the dead BungieDestiny 2 fans are fairly certain a fan-favorite character who’s been long dead has returned thanks to a questline in Lightfall. Destiny 2 Lightfall is finally here and with it comes the Season of Defiance, which brings back some key characters and locations from the Destiny seasons of old. One of the new questlines players can take part in through the Season of Defiance is the Bluejay quest, which tasks Guardians with going back to the Hall of Heroes and clearing the Partition: Hard Reset activity. During this activity, some players have discovered a fairly remote Easter Egg that seemingly teases the return of a fan-favorite character that many believed was dead for good. Destiny 2 players find Easter Egg of fan-favorite character The character in question is Asher Mir, who was an Awoken Warlock and researcher in the Last City on Earth. In Destiny’s lore, Asher was slowly being consumed by the Vex virus and had set out to discover a cure before it ultimately consumed him. Asher’s final appearance in Destiny left a lot of questions from the fanbase surrounding whether he was really dead or had survived following his disappearance just before the events of the Beyond Light expansion. However, Destiny 2 fans are starting to think they’ve found Asher again as a small Easter Egg within the Partition: Hard Reset activity that unlocks after beating Lightfall’s campaign. Without going into spoiler territory, Partition: Hard Reset brings players to an area closely tied to theVex and Cabal. It’s during this mission that players got a brief glimpse at Asher Mir following his mysterious disappearance. Twitter users chadratticus and gzrazz showed off clear footage of where fans can discover the Easter Egg for themselves during Partition: Hard Reset. What’s more, some Destiny sleuths have uncovered a line of morse code when inspecting the Season Pass Sparrow, Inside Line. The morse code translates to “STILL ALIVE. INSIDE NETWORK. IDIOT KIDS.” After players take on the Partition: Hard Reset activity for themselves, this morse code message should make even more sense. It seems fairly clear that Bungie has more plans for Asher Mir, but isn’t quite ready to wrap up the mystery just yet. Hopefully in future content, fans can see what exactly this Warlock’s fate truly is.

Destiny 2 players sweep Root of Nightmares with mass clears and flawless runs – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players sweep Root of Nightmares with mass clears and flawless runs BungieDestiny 2’s newest raid for Lightfall has been demolished by the community, with a mass amount of contest mode clears, flawless runs and even boss speed kills. Raids in Destiny 2 are easily the pinnacle of end-game PvE content within the game. They offer players fantastical spectacles with difficult encounters for some of the best loot within the game. However, most of the time raids are quite challenging and require a fireteam of up to 6 members to successfully complete. The newest raid, Root of Nightmares was recently released as a part of the Lightfall expansion and saw players dealing with the recently resurrected Nezarec. The raid takes place in one of the pyramid ships and contains four encounters for players to traverse through. These encounters can vary from races against the clock to full blown out boss encounters, where all Guardians need to band together to take them down. However, it appears that the Root of Nightmares may not have quite as nightmarish for the player base as previously thought. Lightfall’s premiere raid was exceedingly easy for the community to complete, with massive amounts of raiders able to blitz through the raid, even on the more difficult contest mode. Root of Nightmares demolished with insanely high clear rate A user on Reddit has reported that the Root of Nightmare’s clear rate was much higher than other raids, almost 10x higher than some of the more recent raids. This may be an indication that The Root of Nightmares was simply too easy for the general player base. This easiness was shown even more by high-end raiders, who cleared the raid and then went above and beyond. High-level raiders were able to clear the raid flawlessly while on contest mode, meaning they completed the entire raid without any of them dying a single time, all with the higher difficulty enabled. This itself is an incredible challenge, as even a small mistake within a raid can cause the entire team to wipe. Add contest mode on top of this, where enemies are tougher and Guardians are weaker, and it makes for quite a challenge. However, it seems that The Root of Nightmares was easily outfought by the top of the raiding community, attesting to the lower difficulty. Now with contest mode removed from the raid, Destiny 2 players have found ways to absolutely demolish the raid, and were able to clear the final boss Nezarec in under 20 seconds. Using specific loadouts, players were able to one-phase Nezarec, get him to enrage, and then kill him afterward. Players have noted that Nezarec has rather low health in comparison to other Destiny 2 raid bosses, making him one of the easier ones to take down. It’s unlikely Bungie looks to tune the Root of Nightmares, as they haven’t done so with any previous raids. However, it may be on the cards considering how easy the raid turned out to be.

Destiny 2 players stunned by Graviton Lance PvE buff: “New meta just dropped” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players stunned by Graviton Lance PvE buff: “New meta just dropped” BungieFollowing Bungie’s announcement of the mid-season weapon tuning patch, Destiny 2 players have become excited about proposed Graviton Lance buffs that they believe could make it meta in PvE. The words Graviton Lance and meta are no strangers to one another. Ever since the start of Season of the Deep, the Exotic Pulse Rifle has dominated the PvP meta thanks to its excellent TTK and ease of use. Its performance in PvP was so strong that it was targeted in the mid-season weapon tuning update, seeing the effects of its catalyst reduced. However, that’s not what has gotten the Destiny 2 community talking. Instead, it’s the Graviton Lance’s upcoming buffs in PvE that have players believing it will be the next meta Primary weapon. Graviton Lance buff sees it deal 67% more damage in PvE The Graviton Lance is getting a monster buff in PvE that will see its base damage increased by 67%. This buff strictly applies to shots fired and not its unique trait, Cosmology. Following the announcement, Destiny 2 players couldn’t hide their excitement, with one player posting: “I had to reread it a few times to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding or misreading the text. I thought [Gravtion Lance] was already great in PvE. It is going to be cracked now!” This was a sentiment shared by the community with responses such as “New meta just dropped,” and “67%?! What the f**k,” receiving a lot of upvotes. While most players were happy to see Graviton Lance buffed, some felt that other Exotics needed the buff more: “Damn, I wish other pulses like Bad Juju could get a similar 67% PvE damage buff.” Not everyone was convinced the buff is that substantial: “More of a bugfix, really. When they increased [Graviton Lance] fire rate a month ago, PvE damage was reduced by like 50%.” The referenced rework happened at the start of Season 21. The Graviton Lance saw its fire rate increase from 257 RPM to 300 RPM. However, this came at the cost of reduced damage per shot. This change saw it become dominant in PvP but considerably less effective in PvE. If this latest buff will simply revert it back to its previous state or make Graviton Lance one of Destiny 2’s best Primary weapons is to be seen.

Destiny 2 players stoked Bungie still hasn’t fixed game-breaking crafted weapons bug – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players stoked Bungie still hasn’t fixed game-breaking crafted weapons bug Riot GamesDestiny 2 players have been heaping praise on Bungie after deciding not to revert or rollback the game-breaking crafted weapons bug, letting players revel in the chaos for a little longer. Bungie’s shooter Destiny 2 is by no means a flawless title. With just how large the game’s systems, story, and world are, it is only natural that bugs come creeping in from time to time. The devs are usually quick to address the more major issues that face the game, taking to Twitter to explain their plans for the particular mishap. However, a new bug involving perks on crafted weapons bucked the trend. The exploit enables players to add any perks to any weapon they see fit, which has made for some insanely broken combos right as Trials of Osiris rolled around. Instead of fixing the issue, Bungie announced that they’d let the bug run its course, and allow players to mess around for the time being. Destiny 2 players elated after devs announce slower fix on weapon exploit The developers revealed two fixes that would be implemented into the game in the near future, after a weekend of chaotic fun, and no rollback would occur. Considering how large the bug is though Bungie explained it would take a bit of time before the work was completed. “This is a complex issue, and as a result of testing, our original timeline for a server-side fix has been extended. More information will be provided when we have updates,” a September 17 tweet explained. Despite the slower fix timeline, players were more than happy to leave the game in a more chaotic state, praising Bungie’s transparency during the issue. Many took it as an opportunity to suggest taking a break from the game, explaining that things would eventually return to normal once again. “Great opportunity for anyone who doesn’t want to partake in the shenanigans to take a break from the game. Great opportunity for anyone who wants to embrace the chaos to enjoy it whilst it lasts. Take your time and get the fix right,” a player graciously complimented. “Sit back and enjoy the ride, everyone. You are living through Destiny history. People will talk about this weekend years down the road much like the 12-man raids and instant laser kills. Have fun!” another agreed. Players are still able to enjoy the action whilst Bungie works on a fix, however, this bug isn’t likely to stick around for long, so hop in and mess around while you have the chance.

Destiny 2 players still puzzled by popular Onslaught feature removal – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players still puzzled by popular Onslaught feature removal BungieDestiny 2 players have been lamenting the loss of several key features that contributed to the popularity of Onslaught. The activity, introduced with Into The Light, allowed Guardians to earn standard and limited edition versions of 12 Brave weapons. The former remained when The Final Shape launched while the latter – which boasted unique visuals and more perk choices – were removed. Bungie clearly signposted that limited edition weapons wouldn’t be sticking around after the aforementioned expansion was released, but that hasn’t stopped players from seeking changes to make the activity feel less “worthless.” Voicing their “wish” for the return of shiny Brave weapons in a Reddit thread, the post’s author believed that in its current form, Onslaught felt “kinda worthless,” and that the standard Brave arsenal alone “doesn’t feel like there’s a good reason to farm them.” While others agreed with the author’s view, most believed the core issue that affected Onslaught’s viability was the removal of the Hall of Champions and, by extension, weapon attuning. “I don’t mind the shinies being gone. I mind not being able to target farm anymore,” read one comment. “I’m fine with shinies not being in the game anymore, it makes them special,” another echoed, adding, “The only thing I really hate about Onslaught at the moment, is that attunement is not a thing anymore.” “For me, it’s less about the shiny weapons and more about the focusing,” one more agreed. “It was a pain in the ass to get the roll I wanted even with the focusing, but now there’s little incentive for me to play.” Attuning to one of the 12 Brave weapons in the Hall of Champions granted a sizable boost to drop rates for the gun attuned and, following buffs, guaranteed at least one further drop upon full completion of a 50-wave run. As an added blow to its popularity, Onslaught doesn’t reward Pinnacle gear for weekly completion, giving Guardians still making strides towards the 2000 Power Cap little incentive to bother. Bungie could reinstate one or more of Into The Light’s features in a future patch, but it has not any such guarantee thus far.

Destiny 2 players split on time-limit in the new Exotic Mission – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players split on time-limit in the new Exotic Mission BungieDestiny 2 players are praising Bungie for the game’s latest exotic mission, including the return of timers in it – though it’s not a hit with everyone. Some of the exotic missions in Destiny 2’s past are some of the most beloved content the game has ever seen. The Whisper of the Worm mission and Zero Hour are revered by veteran players as somewhat legendary. Yesterday, that spirit lived on, as a new Exotic mission dropped. It was hidden in Deep Dives, behind collecting three swords you get from fishing. If you complete the mission you get the stasis Exotic scout rifle called Wicked Implement. The mission itself is proving to be difficult for Guardians, too. The boss can take a lot of damage, and there are plenty of ways to get caught out and die. However bringing back the old-school feel, the mission also has a strict timer. When you reach the timed portion, you have around 10 minutes to complete the mission. If you do not, you fail and are kicked out to Orbit. This is how it worked in both The Whisper of the Worm and Zero Hour missions. That was before they were removed, so many are loving the return of this frantic restraint on the new mission. That said, it’s not a universal sentiment in-game. Not all players are happy with the return of timers In a Reddit thread, user DooceBigalo titled a conversation “Adding a timer again on the new Exotic Quest had my heart pumping like the old days”. The thread has 721 upvotes at the time of writing, though it is fluctuating up and down showing how contentious it is. Another user said: “I finished with 10 secs left, big sigh of relief from me and the 2 lfgs”. However, some players aren’t loving the time constraint. “I know people enjoy timers for whatever reason but I just can’t deal with them,” said one player. Another added: “I hate timers. They add nothing and prevent players from actually enjoying content”. The conversation is equally split in the thread and it’s clear players have a pretty passionate view about time limits on content in Destiny 2. The game supports a lot of different kinds of players, so this kind of division is not entirely surprising. Still, it seems the reaction to the mission has largely been positive and players are enjoying the surprise of it dropping.

Destiny 2 players slam “worthless” weapon perk that won’t go away – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam “worthless” weapon perk that won’t go away Destiny 2 players are tired of receiving rolls on their weapons that include a certain perk that most people don’t see any value in, especially for PvE. Perks have been a core part of Destiny’s progression ever since the first game was released in 2014. It’s no exaggeration to say that farming the best rolls possible for meta and desirable weapons is the most popular end-game activity in Bungie’s looter shooter. However, not every weapon is worth farming and many perks aren’t even worth considering. Be it due to them having terrible regular perks or unique yet useless Exotic perks, most loot ends up being dismantled. Now Destiny 2 players are speaking out against a weapon perk that they are sick of rolling and want to take out the game, though not everyone agrees. Destiny 2 perk’s huge trade-off proves unpopular Irritated that they keep getting weapon rolls with Slickdraw on them, one Destiny 2 fan posted on Reddit, “There is nobody who wants slick draw on anything Bungie,” before expressing, “I don’t even know why you felt the need to include such a worthless perk in the game.” The post insists, “Nobody wants slick draw on any gun in the game its an instant dismantle every single time,” and then elaborated, “Nobody is trying to use a perk that decreases their odds of their shots actually making contact with what they’re trying to kill.” Slickdraw is a weapon perk in Destiny 2 that grants a weapon 100 Handling and a slightly faster ready animation. However, this comes at the cost of a massively reduced auto aim once size, effectively reducing a weapon’s bullet magnetism and ease of use. Irritated by Slickdraw’s drawback, one Guardian replied, “Never understood why weapons seem to need horrible perk options in bungies eyes. Why can’t they all be good options making it hard to chose what to keep? Why do the insist on making these horrible ones that nobody wants? Mandatory bad perk quota they have to meet?” A different user who also does not rate Slickdraw commented, “Anything with big penalties suck, period. Slickdraw, Gutshot, Iron Banner perks, some adept weapon mods etc. Even a few barrels feel like insta-shards too, not sure why they bother keeping them in.” Some fans were more positive about Slickdraw commenting, “Slick draw is goated in PVP,” and “wrong. slickdraw eremite is one of the best fusions in PVP, and probably the best legendary fusion for PVP.” Despite its niche status these days, Slickdraw was once so strong that Bungie had to nerf it back in Season 14 as they felt it was too strong and made the Handling stat redundant on certain weapons.

Destiny 2 players slam “terrible” New Light that “ruins the experience” for veterans – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam “terrible” New Light that “ruins the experience” for veterans BungieDestiny 2 has a free-to-play system in place for New Light players which is meant for those who have never played the game. However, players feel that this system is terrible and ruins the experience for both newcomers and veterans. Destiny 2 being a massive game, it can be complicated for new players to grasp unless they get some guidance from veterans. Players feel that New Light’s current state is so poor that even veterans will have trouble explaining the ins and outs to newcomers. Apart from that, they feel that the game does very little to explain the fundamentals of Destiny 2 including weapons, armor, and end game. Lastly, they also feel that the economy is sub-par as Glimmer cost to unlock a full sub-class is not possible for a New Light player to cover. Destiny 2 players feel that the game is hard to recommend to friends A user on Reddit brought up the topic of New Light’s state. He claimed it felt frustrating when he was helping his friend go through the New Light missions. As such the player claimed that “The New Light Experience is not only terrible and not well thought out, it actively ruins the experience for Veteran players”. To this, one player commented, “Still bothers me how out of place the current cosmodrome is” as they went on discussing the New Light experience. Another player chimed in, “This is why I can’t recommend Destiny to some of my friends” as they feel this game is not at all new player friendly. Another also recalled the experience of Shroud as they claimed that “He could not use any of his subclasses properly cause the literal incompetency of Bungie with 25k glimmer” as they brought out the issue with unlocking sub-classes. Lastly, a player commented that “Doing new light is abysmally boring” as they recalled their New Light experience.

Destiny 2 players slam seasonal activity problem that “needs to change” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam seasonal activity problem that “needs to change” BungieDestiny 2 switched to an episodic system after the release of The Final Shape, with many expecting it to be very different from the seasons of old. In reality, they have played out fairly similarly, with players now calling on Bungie to make a major change to activities. In a post on Reddit, one player expressed their frustration with the way the current seasonal Battleground is unlocked. At the time of writing, unlocking the Battleground for Echoes Act 2 requires progression through the story. The main issue that players have with the current system is that this unlock progression is locked to each character. This means that if they then wish to play Battlegrounds on another class, they need to work to unlock them all over again. The responses to the post were overwhelmingly in agreement with the OP. One simply said, “I really can’t understand why people are just now getting mad about this. it’s been like this for a while, and it seriously needs to change.” Another relatively new player lambasted how tough it is to build up an alt more generally. They said, “I only started playing Destiny 2 about 1.5 years ago, and during that time, I have mainly mained a Titan. “Now, with TFS, I wanted to branch out a little bit to Warlock, but my God, it is so tedious to build up an alt. You need to go and redo all kinds of campaigns for Exotics and Stasis/Strand/Prismatic and farm/buy all aspects/grenades, etc., and then you need to do all the seasonal stuff you already did before.” There’s little doubt that Destiny is not a game that’s geared towards maintaining alts, instead pushing the player to fill the shoes of a single Guardian. Whether Bungie will soften this stance remains to be seen, but there has been no intimation from the developer that changes are on the way.

Destiny 2 players slam Season of the Wish as its “severely lacking” content – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Season of the Wish as its “severely lacking” content BungieDestiny 2 Season of the Wish is finally available but players are not happy with the content they have received. As it happens, some of the users took to Reddit and claimed that the gameplay content is “severely lacking”. Destiny 2 has been at the forefront of criticism over the past few months. The lack of meaningful content in the game in combination with the various incidents surrounding Bungie made the playerbase frustrated and angry. However, in the past, the release of new seasons has often provided a temporary fix to problems. Unfortunately, that has not been the case this time as Season of the Wish led to even more controversy as players have slammed it as “severely lacking”. Here is what the community has to say surrounding the brand new Season of the Wish. Destiny 2 players are unhappy with the gameplay content in Season of the Wish The discussion regarding the lack of gameplay content was started by a Reddit user named SthenicFreeze. The player mentioned in their post, “I’m going to preface this by saying the story/dialogue is fine for a seasonal story, but the gameplay content is severely lacking.” They continued, “story mission to get the egg, but it’s not actually a new mission… It’s just the seasonal activity you did earlier with some different dialogue and no teammates.” They also commented, “I wasn’t expecting much from the start of a season, but I wasn’t expecting to run one new mission in an old location, then one new activity only to end the weekly quest running a 5 year old.” Other players joined into the discussion as a lot of them seem to share similar sentiments. One such Reddit user mentioned, “It boggles my mind that they thought making a 5 year old activity with no changes other than some updated loot a major part of the season was a good idea.” Another player chimed in, “I actually can’t believe they dropped “run x2 tier III Blind Well” in the first f***** week of the season.” One user also commented, “When I found out it wasn’t just one blind well I logged out for the day. Just can’t be asked, maybe tomorrow.” Lastly, a player claimed, “At this rate Bungie should get an environmental award for their constant efforts of recycling.” Therefore, it is clear that players are not at all happy with the content from Season of the Wish. There is very little new content, and considering this season will run for seven months, it seems like Bungie will have to pull a miracle to hold onto its playerbase in the coming days.

Destiny 2 players slam lack of “long-term plan” as population falls dramatically – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam lack of “long-term plan” as population falls dramatically BungieDestiny 2 players concerned by the game’s dwindling population have attributed the shrink to a lack of clear vision from Bungie. After enjoying a huge popularity surge in June 2024 due to The Final Shape’s release, figures have nosedived in the months following. Per Steam Charts, average player numbers for August came to rest at 35,746. By comparison, June had more than triple that total at 123,023. Drop-offs in active players following an unpopular expansion launch – as was the case for Lightfall – aren’t an uncommon occurrence for Destiny 2, but the situation here is different. The Final Shape received acclaim from critics and fans alike when it dropped, so what’s the cause this time around? According to players, a lack of clear vision from Bungie is to blame. On September 2, content creator Aztecross released a video attributing Destiny 2’s fall-off to a lack of clear direction from Bungie, prompting many to agree on Reddit. “Cross is right. Low sentiment right now is probably directly tied to the lack of an announced future”, the thread’s author began, adding “I think it’s because, for the first time since the release of Shadowkeep, we have no communicated long-term plan for Destiny 2.” “100% why I’ve stopped playing”, came another. “Sad too, because Final Shape felt rejuvenating. The second the restructure and no future expansions were announced, I fell off.” Following news of mass layoffs, multiple reports of Bungie scrapping Destiny 2’s annual expansion model surfaced. The developer hasn’t commented on this and it remains unconfirmed. “It’s definitely had an impact on me. Why chase weapons and all that when there might not be any content to use it on?” the discourse continued. While true that uncertainty lingers ahead for Destiny 2, it’s already known that two additional Episodes, Revenant and Heresy, will follow Echoes. Beyond that lies Frontiers, though besides the name, it’s unclear what, exactly, this update will entail.

Destiny 2 players slam Haunted Lost Sectors for “cringe” dialogue – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Haunted Lost Sectors for “cringe” dialogue While playing Haunted Lost Sectors during Festival of the Lost, Destiny 2 players haven’t been able to help but find this year’s dialogue extremely annoying with Immaru being to blame. Haunted Lost Sectors are an important feature in Festival of the Lost. They let players convert Spectral Pages into Manifested Pages which are required to progress various parts of the event. Opinions on the new holiday event have been mixed with criticisms accusing Bungie of not listening to feedback and utilizing problematic microtransactions. Now another complaint has been sent Bungie’s way with player being unhappy about the new dialogue in Haunted Lost Sectors that Guardians have gone so far as to label “cringe” and “awkward.” Everyone hates Immaru’s inclusion in Destiny 2 Haunted Lost Sectors Annoyed by the dialogue a Destiny 2 player posted on Reddit: “Immaru made me turn off my dialogue for the first time in this entire game.” “Seriously who thought it was a good idea to have him spam dialogue on every headless one killed in the instance?” the post continued questioning why Bungie has made Immaru so repetitive. Introduced in The Witch Queen DLC, Immaru is Savathun’s Ghost. He is known for being snarky and not showing others much respect, constantly mocking those around him. Although his character is liked by some members of the community the same cannot be said of his involvement in the Haunted Lost Sectors. “His dialogue is cringe, and repeated it’s even worse lmao the lines where he’s reaction to what Eido is saying from previous years and she just carries on her dialogue lol what is his character direction? Villain in the Care Bears universe if that universe existed in 1940s Brooklyn?” one player posted blasting Immaru’s overall design. Another Guardian responded: “Very funny that they didn’t record any new lines for Eido or Glint, so Immaru’s lines are just awkwardly shoved between existing dialogue. Haunted Sectors feel so weird when there’s 3 different characters just spewing lines every few seconds without acknowledging one another.” Others compared Immaru’s dialogue to one of Destiny’s least popular characters replying “Luckily I already knew how to turn off the dialogue because of Nimbus,” and “He’s nearing Nimbus levels of cringe.” With Haunted Lost Sectors being returning content Bungie likely wanted to make it more relevant to Season of the Witch by involving Immaru. Unfortunately, the Destiny 2 community doesn’t seem overly convinced that that has been done well.

Destiny 2 players slam Guardian Games activity as a “disaster” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Guardian Games activity as a “disaster” BungieDestiny 2 players have slammed the Guardian Games’ daily focused activity as a “disaster” as next to no one is queueing for the mode, leaving it deserted. The Guardian Games has returned once more to Destiny 2. The annual event sees classes from all over take part in an all-out battle to see who will reign supreme. This mainly involves collecting contender medals by completing cards that see Guardians partake in various playlist activities like Strikes and more. Guardian Games 2024 has introduced a new daily focused activity, that rewards bonuses if you partake in them. This should in theory encourage players to do a variety of activities, as the daily focused activity would switch throughout the event. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case for Guardian Games 2024, as many players have complained that the focus activity has barely anyone running it, making the event feel deserted. Many Destiny 2 players have labeled the daily focused activity as a “disaster”, simply due to the fact so few are queueing for it. “Not only does this game not explain to anyone the crazy amount of rewards you get when your class wins the activity, or even how the focus activity even works to begin with, but its system of finding anyone to actually get a match going is atrocious,” one post on the matter read. Others chimed in, sharing that they’re also having trouble finding matches. “It feels like no one is playing anymore. And with the matchmaking taking so long it’s no wonder…Second day I just gave up on this sh*t,” they pointed out. “Guardian Games in general is a disaster,” another player agreed. It’s uncertain if Bungie has any plans to revamp Guardian Games in the future, but it seems their attempts in 2024 have not gone down well with the player base.

Destiny 2 players slam Ghostbusters collab: “Who asked for this?” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Ghostbusters collab: “Who asked for this?” Bungie / Sony PicturesBungie has announced the latest Destiny 2 crossover will bring Ghostbusters to the game, much to the frustration of many players. Destiny 2 has announced a new crossover, this time with Ghostbusters. This includes three cosmetics that will be available starting on March 19, just three days before Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire comes to theaters. Like other recent live service games, Destiny 2 is no stranger to crossovers. Just in the past couple of months, the game has received cosmetics based on The Witcher and Mass Effect. However, this latest announcement has fans divided, with many sharing their frustrations over how Bungie and Sony are handling Destiny 2. Destiny 2 players disappointed in Ghostbusters crossover While the Ghostbusters collaboration bundle won’t be available for another week, early reactions from Destiny 2 players are split. Though some fans of both franchises are looking forward to the crossover, lots of players have been more critical. Several social media comments echo a sentiment shared by one Reddit user: “who asked for this?” Though other Destiny 2 collabs were more positively received, many have pointed out that these Ghostbusters items don’t fit with the game’s look the way past crossovers have. As one Reddit user put it, “the Mass Effect items don’t strike me as anything different than the usual Destiny fare. However, the latest Ghostbuster collab breaks that aesthetic.” Some compared the decision to other service games, with one Twitter user saying, “This is like the equivalent of putting Nickelodeon characters in Smite. Makes no sense and is the ultimate sign of dead game.” Another pleaded with the devs, “Please don’t turn into Fortnite.” As others have pointed out, Sony owns both Ghostbusters and Destiny, with the company acquiring Bungie in 2022. The collaboration as a promotion for another Sony property has left fans further concerned over the role it’ll play going forward and whether Destiny will become another space for marketing.

Destiny 2 players slam Festival of the Lost for “exact same issues” from previous events – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Festival of the Lost for “exact same issues” from previous events The Festival of the Lost is now underway in Destiny 2 and players are not happy, with many voicing their anger at the lack of changes from previous editions of the event. Destiny 2 is in a tough spot at the moment, with a lull before the current expansion draws to a close at the beginning of 2024. With The Final Shape set to release on February 27, 2024, one of the major things the player base has to look forward to are the time-limited holiday events. The Festival of the Lost is the latest, with the Halloween-themed celebration set to run until the weekly reset on November 7. Unfortunately for developer Bungie, players are taking to social media to voice their discontent with the current state of the holiday offering. 2023’s Festival of the Lost retains major issues from previous years In a post on Reddit, one user took their complaints to the Destiny community at large, saying: “Did y’all really just ignore all of the feedback regarding last year’s FotL and ship it anyway..? These are all the exact same issues that plagued last year’s FotL.” Specifically, the player cited the hard cap on the number of Headless Ones that can spawn. This becomes an issue as it throttles the number of Manifested Pages players can earn if they are idling, waiting for a new spawn. Additionally, players are forced to wear the Festival of the Lost mask to earn rewards, in turn stopping players from running builds that revolve around Exotic headgear (like Assassin’s Cowl Hunter builds.) Others were quick to agree with the OP as they lamented Bungie seemingly ignoring their major complaints from previous years, with one saying: “Bungie does not care. If they did, we would not still be baking cookies for the 5th year in a row during The Dawning. These events simply exist to give a bump in Eververse revenue for the month they fall in.” Destiny 2 will inevitably see an immense bump in popularity as it exits the Lightfall era, but current issues are eroding goodwill in the meantime. The developer has to make radical changes to get dedicated players back, with only The Dawning left to come this year.

Destiny 2 players slam “Eager Edgelords” for ruining Crota’s End – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam “Eager Edgelords” for ruining Crota’s End BungieDestine 2 players have become frustrated by Guardians using Eager Edge during Crota’s End to try and speedrun the opening Lamps encounter throwing the raid for their team. Crota’s End has proven popular since its arrival with many praising its difficulty and fun rework of a Destiny classic. Although the final boss plays a big part in that difficulty it’s not the section that Guardians are having difficulty completing. Instead, it’s The Abyss encounter – often called Lamps – which is causing problems. The premise is that the raid team is dropped into a dark area and needs to traverse between these lamps to clear their Weight of Darkness debuff. However, the lamps explode after just a few seconds so it’s important to stick together, but not everyone in Destiny 2 is a team player opting instead to rely on solo movement techs to rush ahead. Destiny 2 Crota’s End encounter ruined by Eager Edge sweats A frustrated Destiny 2 player posted on Reddit expressing their irritation claiming “‘Wannabe sweats are making Lamps the hardest Crota encounter.” The post elaborated: “Could really do with not having to fight against Eager Edge speedrunners leaving everyone behind and refusing to communicate then acting like everyone else is the problem after they Eager Edge into a hole or die from holding the chalice when they’re the only one three lamps ahead.” “Got no qualms with giving the speedrun strat a few tries if everyone’s on the same page about it. Got a lot of qualms with that one Eager Edgelord who doesn’t seem to understand that you can’t actually solo the encounter,” the top-voted reply responded. Another like-minded player replied: “The problem is that those players are just stupid and doesn’t understand the speedruns they watch. Speedrunners (or any sweat trying to go slightly faster) would understand the encounter mechanics and would know that simply running forward alone is worthless.” Others criticized how these speedrunners do more damage than good: “People will take an hour trying to do the ‘fast’ way, even though they could slow down and get it done in 10 [minutes].” Not everyone agreed though: “I’m surprised that these comments would have you believe that absolutely nobody is getting Eager Edge to work. Sure some people fall into holes, but like 75% of the time we’ll still get it on the first try and it’s much faster than waiting at every lamp.” Eager Edge is a mobility perk exclusive to the 30th Anniversary swords that lets Destiny 2 players launch forward after swinging. It is often used in speedrunning strategies to skip long sections but can be problematic if used incorrectly.

Destiny 2 players slam Bungie over “ridiculous” 30th Anniversary Pack price tag – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Bungie over “ridiculous” 30th Anniversary Pack price tag BungieAlready facing pushback from the Destiny 2 community over the decision to lock new dungeons behind the Witch Queen Deluxe Edition, Bungie is now being blasted by players over the price of the game’s 30th Anniversary Pack. Destiny 2’s upcoming Witch Queen expansion looks to be a major turning point for the looter-shooter franchise, introducing massive ability changes, the addition of weapon crafting, and a campaign that will strike fear into the hearts of Guardians. Before fans get their hands on the game’s next major expansion, however, they still have Bungie’s 30th Anniversary celebration to look forward to — an event where players can pay homage to both the legacy of the studio and its flagship title. Despite the hype surrounding the event, there is plenty of discontent swirling as well — and the community has now shared their frustration with the Anniversary Pack’s price tag, which some argue is “ridiculous” when considering the content on offer. Destiny 2 players outraged over 30th Anniversary Pack price The community’s unease over the pack’s price tag began to spread in the wake of another controversy: Bungie’s decision to lock the Witch Queen’s dungeons behind the game’s Deluxe Edition, priced out at $80 USD. After players slammed the developer’s response to those concerns, they turned their anger towards the game’s 30th Anniversary Pack, currently scheduled to release in December at the price of $25 USD. “This is nearly the price of an entire expansion, and all you get is one dungeon, one exotic, and some items that won’t have much effect on gameplay,” a popular post on the Destiny 2 subreddit pointed out. “Events are always free,” the poster continued, “[But] now they’re releasing an event with a paywall. This is less than a single season’s worth of content for triple the price? How is this actually real?” Fellow players were quick to agree with the post’s sentiment. “It’s overpriced, and I feel like there’s no guarantee of how long this stuff will even be in the game,” one comment read, referring the removal of previously purchased content via the Destiny Content Vault. Even individuals from outside the game’s community voiced their disbelief: “I don’t play Destiny so I’m uninformed of its pricing structure. I do know that there are plenty of excellent, feature-full games that you can get for less than $32.” “[This] seems extremely ridiculous from someone on the outside looking in,” the comment ended. It remains to be seen how Bungie will respond to the complaints about the pack’s price tag, if at all, but for now the Destiny 2 community seems to be less-than-thrilled with the offering included in the Anniversary event.

Destiny 2 players slam Bungie for re-releasing old cosmetics with new price tag – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players slam Bungie for re-releasing old cosmetics with new price tag BungieDestiny 2 players have slammed developers Bungie for re-releasing Season of the Undying cosmetics from 5 years ago with a new premium price tag. Bungie’s looter shooter Destiny 2 has come an awfully long way since its original release back in 2017. From a rocky launch, with a poor-performing first year of DLC, the game was eventually revived with the introduction of the Forsaken expansion. Forsaken wasn’t without its own issues either though, as players quickly ran out of content to run and were looking for something to tie them over until the next major expansion. To counteract this, Bungie introduced seasons, which were self-contained stories that hosted their own cosmetics and activities. These activities and cosmetics generally were removed after the season ended, or removed at the end of the year they were released. Bungie has since brought some of these older cosmetics back, much to the dismay of Destiny 2 players. Destiny 2 players lash out at devs for re-releasing old season cosmetics Destiny 2 players have become outraged after discovering Bungie was offering the old Season of the Undying cosmetics for $15. The season, which was released back with Shadowkeep came out over four years ago, prompting many players to call out the devs for forcing FOMO (fear of missing out). “I too love forcing FOMO into new players,” they argued. Other players complained about the player base purchasing the items, which would in turn incentivize Bungie to price other cosmetics at a similar price. “It’s not for us. It’s for a small group of people with disposable income. I’ve read they make a couple million per armor set. They’re going to keep dropping them,” one player argued. “Bungie makes this stuff and prices it this way because people buy it. You don’t want to pay that much for an armor set? Cool, then don’t pay that much for an armor set. It’s really that simple” Season passes in Destiny 2 cost less than $15, and include more than just the cosmetics for the season, with other in-game rewards for players who play during the season.

Destiny 2 players should visit Xur before this versatile Fusion Rifle is gone – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players should visit Xur before this versatile Fusion Rifle is gone BungieA Fusion Rifle first added to Destiny 2 way back in Season of Arrivals and otherwise unavailable outside of vendor rotations is up for grabs from Xur, and it’s worth spending your spare Strange Coins on it before he leaves on August 20. Hollow Words is a rarity in the current meta in that its perk pool hasn’t been curated with a specific area of the sandbox in mind. Instead, its possible rolls lend incredibly well to both PvP and PvE. However, the version being peddled by everyone’s favorite Agent of the Nine shines brightest in The Crucible, where it remains a good option years after its initial release. Xur’s Hollow Words roll for August 16-20 Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling – Magazine: Enhanced Battery – Perk 1: Killing Wind – Perk 2: Backup Plan – Masterwork: Handling – For PvP, where Range and Charge Time are king on Fusion Rifles, this iteration of Hollow Words has everything a Guardian could ask for. Hammer-Forged Rifling’s in-built +10 buff to the former pairs incredibly well with every subsequent perk. Between them, Killing Wind and Backup Plan provide boosts to every stat after a kill and for a short period after swapping to Hollow Words respectively. With both active, you’ll be able to easily counter Shotgun enthusiasts running Someday or Compass Rose, which are both dominating the current PvP meta. The Handling Masterwork, while weaker compared to Range or Charge Time, is still a valuable boon for run-and-gun playstyles and pairs well with mid-range Kinetic weapons like 180 RPM Hand Cannons. Alternatively, the Fusion makes for an incredible fallback for Scout or Pulse Rifle users being rushed by the opposition. It can reliably down enemy Guardians in one burst, giving them no time to react or escape. If you hoarded your original Hollow Words drops from Season of Arrivals, be sure to pull any with Liquid Coils, Vorpal Weapon, or Lead From Gold out of the Vault. All three are fantastic options for those looking for a PvE alternative. For other top meta picks for Destiny 2 during Episode: Echoes, check out our breakdowns of Bold Endings and Fortunate Star.

Destiny 2 players shocked Bungie thought “lackluster” Lightfall was sustainable – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players shocked Bungie thought “lackluster” Lightfall was sustainable BungieWith reports claiming Bungie’s layoffs were partly caused by missed revenue targets, Destiny 2 players can’t help but wonder why higher-ups thought the “lackluster” Lightfall DLC would be sustainable. Bungie recently laid off 8 percent of its workforce, with 100 people losing their jobs ahead of the holidays. According to a report from Bloomberg, employees were informed earlier in October that the firm would miss its revenue targets by a whopping 45 percent. Developers were, thus, encouraged to right the course of Destiny 2. Two weeks later, surprise layoffs rocked the company. Given Destiny 2’s recent releases, specifically the Lightfall expansion, fans are wondering why revenue projections were so high. Destiny 2 fans say Bungie’s Lightfall expansion wasn’t sustainable As talk about the Bungie layoffs persists, one Reddit user pointed out the irrationality of executives believing Lightfall offered a viable content plan. “So Lightfall as an ‘expansion’ only gave us one new strike, a raid, nothing for gambit and nothing for PvP, so who thought that was sustainable?” the Redditor asked. The user knows there’s much the public doesn’t understand about the company’s projections, but “this lackluster ‘expansion’ that barely expanded the game in any shape other than Neptune, Strand, and a new raid ain’t it chief.” Several other longtime Destiny fans chimed in to agree. One person stated that while players usually move on to Ritual Playlists after finishing the DLC, even that content has seen better days. “Once players are done with expansion and seasonal content, they go play ritual Playlists. But wait… Ritual Playlists are in bad shape. And you wonder why player retention is failing.” More people joined the conversation to ensure the blame landed in its proper place – Bungie leadership. Another Redditor said of Bungie’s ill-received Destiny 2 Lightfall content: “Remember, the devs are ultimately just doing what they’re told. Incompetent management is what made Lightfall a disaster, nothing else…” Whatever way you slice it, it’s unfortunate that so many people were given the axe over decisions beyond their control.

Destiny 2 players seemingly grab The Final Shape Exotic for free with pre-order loophole – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players seemingly grab The Final Shape Exotic for free with pre-order loophole BungieSome Destiny 2 players seem to have obtained an Exotic from The Final Shape for free through a supposed pre-order loophole. Despite The Final Shape still being a while away, the community is already looking forward to its release as information slowly comes out. Following the recent showcase, there’s now plenty for everyone to look forward to. And with its build-up, players can already pre-order the expansion well before its 2024 release. In doing so, the Tessellation Fusion Rifle can be yours. However, it seems certain players are claiming that they have been able to get this particular reward free of charge. Destiny 2 YouTuber LUCKYY10P asked on his Twitter if the rumors of Guardians getting the Tessellation for free through a pre-order loophole were true. Naturally, this sparked a huge discussion. The loophole, in theory, sees players pre-order The Final Shape, receive their free Tessellation Exotic, and then cancel the pre-order while keeping the weapon, effectively getting it for free. Many players responded to LUCKYY10P stating that the loophole was indeed working for them while pointing out it was the same exact loophole that worked in previous expansions. Exotics like the Quicksilver Storm which was obtainable as a pre-order bonus for Lightfall were also susceptible to the loophole, allowing players to obtain the weapon for free through the same cancel-order method. However, it’s worth noting that in this case, the ‘free’ Tessellation is most likely not going to last forever. Players who used the loophole for the Quicksilver found that once Lightfall had released, the game detected their pre-order was canceled and deleted the weapon from their arsenal. Thus, it’s safe to expect the same will happen here as well. As we’re still many months away from the official release of The Final Shape, players who use the same pre-order loophole at least have a few months of use before potentially losing access.

Destiny 2 players say Stasis is busted in the Crucible – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players say Stasis is busted in the Crucible BungieIn Destiny 2’s new Beyond Light expansion, Bungie added the first darkness-based subclass into the game. Many players are enjoying Stasis, but the PVP community is worried about the balance of these new abilities in the Crucible. [jwplayer sdEiSVZH] Destiny 2: Beyond Light added a substantial chunk of new content into the game. Along with new weapons and gear to chase, the expansion’s biggest selling point for many is the addition of new darkness-based subclasses, called Stasis. The Titan Behemoth, Warlock Shadebinder, and Hunter Revenant offer new abilities and playstyles for players to explore. Stasis provides players with a level of detail and fine-tuning for their abilities that has been missing since the transition from Destiny 1 to the current title. While many players voiced their appreciation of Bungie’s move towards more nuanced abilities for their characters, the portion of Destiny 2’s community that is heavily invested in PVP have pushed back at Bungie for not balancing Stasis in the Crucible. Frustration with balancing in the Crucible When freezing Fallen or Vex on Europa and smashing them into pieces, players have praised the mechanics of Stasis. However, when these abilities were unleashed in the Crucible, Guardians grew concerned with the power of Stasis. Several Destiny 2 content creators have voiced their concerns with Stasis balancing in PVP only a few days after release. Gothalion, a Facebook Gaming creator who has streamed Destiny for many years, questioned how Stasis was implemented so poorly in the Crucible. Stasis makes pvp a nightmare. The CC is so long and you just get fucked. It’s not even a “get good” scenario, it’s a “how was this shipped” scenario. — Gothalion (@Gothalion) November 11, 2020 Destiny 2 Twitch streamer Gigz agreed with Gothalion in a response to his tweet. Even more content creators reinforced Gothalion’s take, with Destiny 2 YouTuber Aztecross quoted his tweet agreeing that “Stasis is busted in PVP.” Although the majority of players seem unhappy with the current balancing of Stasis, not all players feel the same. Destiny 2 YouTuber Mtashed took a more positive approach to the issue, saying he would rather have broken abilities in the game than make things boring. You can either balance PVP and make PVE boring, or double down and make Destiny a wild space game imo I’d rather have crazy raids, guns, and abilities long term — Mtashed (@MTashed) November 12, 2020 No updates from Bungie on balancing In a tweet posted on November 12, the developer announced that the release of Trials of Osiris in Beyond Light – the game’s pinnacle PVP activity – will be delayed until the weekend of November 27. Bungie did not directly confirm this delay was due to Stasis balancing, but players began to draw their own conclusions. Gothalion once again chimed in with a response on Twitter: “Oh you guys played crucible then.” For now, Destiny 2 players must wait for Bungie to provide an official response to those concerned around balancing Stasis in the Crucible. Guardians should keep an eye on Bungie’s social accounts for any future updates.

Destiny 2 players resorting to YouTube as Final Shape launch issues ruin cutscenes – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players resorting to YouTube as Final Shape launch issues ruin cutscenes BungieGuardians far and wide are resorting to out-of-game methods to catch up on The Final Shape’s crucial story beats as Destiny 2’s most important expansion has launched with a bevvy of issues hindering the fun. As with most live-service games, the biggest updates often draw the biggest crowds. That’s no different with Destiny 2 as Bungie’s live-service title pulls hundreds of thousands of Guardians together upon the release of every new expansion without fail. Rounding out 10 years of storytelling through The Light and Darkness Saga, June 4, 2024 brought The Final Shape into focus. However, it didn’t do so in a flawless manner. Server issues were no doubt expected, as has historically been the case with new Destiny 2 expansions, but all manner of setbacks are not only halting progress for players, but in some cases, outright ruining the experience. At such an epochal moment in Destiny’s history, finally facing down The Witness, any missed moments or abruptly ended cutscenes are bound to cause frustration, and that’s exactly what’s been happening through the launch day. Although server interruptions are nothing new, with The Final Shape’s release, many have been interrupted at pivotal moments. When disconnected from the always online game, players are either sent back to orbit or straight to the main menu. If that interruption strikes during a cutscene, that particular moment is lost in time until you replay the campaign on another character. As there’s no way to rewatch cutscenes you’ve missed, this has forced the hands of Guardians by the thousands. Popular streamers like Gladd have expressed their frustrations with the day one experience, even suggesting the most dedicated Destiny 2 players avoid the expansion until issues are ironed out. “I’ve been disconnected during every single cutscene except for one,” he tweeted nine hours into his launch day grind. “This is actually pretty terrible and it sucks. I do not recommend playing The Final Shape right now if you care at all about the story. You risk missing everything important.” Most of Destiny 2’s most important moments are often conveyed through said cutscenes, rather than directly in player-controller sequences of gameplay. So to miss out on the vast majority of them for the final chapter in a decade-long story is certainly a punch to the gut. As a result, many players have been forced to catch up on what they’ve missed by any means possible. In some cases, this has led Guardians out of the game as they watch cutscenes on YouTube, uninterrupted by any pesky server troubles. “Had to go on YouTube to see the end of mission one cutscene because the server kicked me,” one player said in reply to Gladd. “I missed the cutscene post first mission and I was peeved. I got off, I’ll just try again tomorrow,” another added. “This highlights the fact Destiny needs a cutscene theater,” a player stressed. “Unfortunate that we’re missing them because of errors. I want to be able to see them with my Guardian, not some random content creator on YouTube.” Rest assured, Bungie is toiling away as always, with the Bungie Help account on X (formerly Twitter) providing regular updates on a raft of server-related issues and various error codes too. For now, there’s no quite telling when things may stabilize. Though with the player count slowly dipping after a hot start, we could see hotfixes leading to a smoother experience in a matter of hours.

Destiny 2 players rejoice as servers haven’t “sh*t themselves” in over a week – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players rejoice as servers haven’t “sh*t themselves” in over a week BungieFor the first time in a while, the servers for Destiny 2 have remained stable with no major service disruptions in over a week. This has delighted the community who couldn’t help but celebrate. Bungie has had a difficult time with Destiny 2’s servers since Lightfall was released. Stability concerns and regular error messages have been frustrating players with the looter shooter’s servers being taken down altogether in extreme cases. It became such a big problem that on June 29, the developer admitted in a blog post that it was actively working on improving server stability. It expects that most of the planned fixes will be implemented by the time Season 22 is underway. To keep Destiny 2 players informed about when the servers aren’t online, Bungie posts active issues on its official help Twitter account. As of writing, the last tweet posted by the Bungie Help account regarding server stability was July 9, meaning over a week has passed with no downtime. Destiny 2 servers haven’t gone down in over a week Delighted by the improvements to server stability, the Destiny 2 community has been celebrating on Reddit. The post bringing everyone’s attention to this feat reads: “Been a while since servers made it a week without sh*tting themselves, but it’s happened, the last Bungo help tweet was more than a week ago. Anyone willing to bet on them making it two weeks?” Guessing how long the streak will last one player replied: “I’m betting on Tuesday since it’s Solstice and the armour actually looks good this time.” Some reactions were instead concerned that OP may have doomed them all replying “Don’t jinx it,” and “And the next time they sh*t themselves we get to blame you for jinxing it.” Others used the opportunity to make fun of past server stability issues: “Destiny has worse uptime than a McDonald’s ice cream machine.” A few players interpreted the post as praising Bungie for doing what’s expected of them: “Are we supposed to praise them for keeping a game we’ve paid a considerable amount for up and running for 1 whole week?” While the servers for Destiny 2 seem to have improved, there are issues with Bungie’s merchandise store with players not being sent the items they ordered.

Destiny 2 players rejoice as fan favorite exotic returns to its former glory – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players rejoice as fan favorite exotic returns to its former glory Light.GG/ BungieDestiny 2 players have rejoiced at seeing fan favorite exotic Anarchy return to its former glory after being somewhat irrelevant for quite some time. Destiny 2 has a lot of different weapons on offer to players. Where you prefer Hand Cannons, to Submachine Guns to even Trace Rifles, the choice is all yours. Alongside that, you’ve got your choice of exotic weapon, which provides its own unique effect that can drastically alter your gameplay experience. Of course, the game still has a form of meta, with players optimizing builds that allow for the most optimal of performance. This usually means players will spend a lot of time with a certain weapon, growing fonder of it as they use it more. This is exactly what happened with the exotic grenade launcher Anarchy, which players are happy to see make a comeback. Released back in Season of the Forge, the exotic grenade launcher was a rare drop from the Scourge of the Past raid. Attaching arc conductors to a target allowed the grenade launcher to deal damage over time, making it an excellent exotic to pair while DPSing bosses. Anarchy has since been nerfed several times, but with recent buffs to grenade launchers and new build options, players are happy to see it make a return. “Return of the king?” one player joked. “Anarchy double slug time let’s go!” another cheered. Many players have noted that with the level of power creep in Destiny 2, it’s unlikely that the grenade launcher would’ve stayed meta for long. “Even if Anarchy was never nerfed, it likely wouldn’t be meta. We’ve power crept it by a lot,” one player stated. “Hopefully it comes back, I miss the Anarchy hotswap meta,” another played hoped. With the buffs on the way there’s no telling if Anarchy will be the powerhouse that it used to be, but players are certainly glad to see it make a resurgence.

Destiny 2 players rejoice as Bungie removes abilities in new Crucible Labs mode – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players rejoice as Bungie removes abilities in new Crucible Labs mode BungieDestiny 2 PvP players have rejoiced after Bungie announced they’d be introducing an ability-free modifier for the Crucible Labs playlist. PvP in Destiny 2 has always had a bit of a tumultuous past. The game, which primarily focused on the story and PvE often left player versus player action behind. This resulted in PvP going unchanged for quite some time, with mains of the mode feeling like Bungie had completely forgotten about the player base. Since that time Bungie has looked to rectify this, introducing new changes to the mode, bringing it more in line with the quality of their PvE experiences. This includes putting Artifice Armor into the reward pool for ranked play, trying out new game modes, and more. Bungie often does this through Crucible Labs, which is essentially the developers testing grounds for new modes. Now they’re introducing a new modifier to Checkmate, which will completely take away abilities, much to the enthusiasm of players. Many Destiny 2 players have rejoiced at the introduction of Hardware, a modifier for the Crucible Labs mode Checkmate. “It’s no abilities, only weapons! Grab Special and Heavy ammo from crates located around the map and get to shooting,” the TWID reads. Players were ecstatic to see the new gun-focused mode. “I might start playing PvP again…” one player pondered. “Finally a guns-only PvP mode, I’ve been wanting this for a while,” another agreed. Many began to joke about Hardware, keen to see how this new take on PvP would change the player base. “Finally my claims of “Titan BS” will be proven true or false. Probably false, I’m probably a lot worse than I think.” one declared. “Lmao can’t wait to see people still suck and then blame exotic weapons are a problem,” another joked. Checkmate: Hardware will be introduced to Crucible Labs in Patch 7.3.6, meaning players should get hyped for a new take on the PvP formula.

Destiny 2 players rage about reputation changes ahead of Festival of the Lost 2021 – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players rage about reputation changes ahead of Festival of the Lost 2021 BungieDestiny 2 has been in a pretty positive spot recently, but fans are not happy at new reputation changes for bounties in Bungie’s loot-shooter. Destiny 2 is about to kick off its Festival of the Lost event, but players are in no mood to celebrate after Bungie extended the grind to earn seasonal ornaments. These cosmetics are awarded to the Ascendancy rocket launcher, the ritual weapon in Season of the Lost. While the gun is fairly easy to earn, its new visual options now require players to not only reset their rank in either Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit playlists – but then reach the rank of Legend, too. That essentially means spending a lot of time in a single mode to grind out a new paint job for your rocket launch – and players took to the Destiny 2 subreddit to express their discontent. Destiny 2 community angry about Ascendancy ornament quest The post, which now has over one thousand upvotes, has been growing as players chip in with their disappointment. Originally discussing the lack of reputation earned from turning in bounties at each of the playlist’s respective vendors, some are wishing Bungie would revisit the prior strategy of having ornaments obtained by specific quests. Some of the Season of the Lost weekly challenges are even tied to earning these ornaments. While some commenters suggested that the quest is lengthy because there’s such a long gap between Season of the Lost and Witch Queen, another said they checked their reputation stats after playing Destiny 2 for six weeks only to feel “crushingly deflated” at the lack of progress. Others bemoaned the lack of powerful engrams available to boost overall power once a rank has been reset once, while others pointed out the slow path to increase Gambit reputation has never felt longer. Read more: Xur’s location and inventory this week – One comment went further, noting that “Bungie need to f**k off with all this artificial playtime bullshit.” Still, one commenter noted that they like the current reputation system, pointing out that “it’s not exactly gating some crazy new weapon or anything”. While Season of the Lost introduced new “activity streaks” for players enjoying multiple Strikes, Crucible matches, or Gambit matches in a row, it’s clear that plenty of fans feel that playing a single activity for hours for a weapon skin isn’t a great way to keep Guardians logged in. For more on Destiny 2, be sure to check out everything we know about the Festival of the Lost – which could start as early as next week.

Destiny 2 players question “missed opportunity” with Prismatic Titan – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players question “missed opportunity” with Prismatic Titan BungieThe addition of the Prismatic subclass vastly changed all three of Destiny 2‘s classes, but Titan arguably came out of the meta reshuffle with the least credit. Players have identified why this might be, claiming Bungie missed a major opportunity when designing Prismatic. In a post on Reddit, one user claimed that Prismatic Titan could have been improved significantly by including the Throwing Hammer ability. They cited the reliance on Consecration and a lack of Jolt options as the main reasons behind this. Throwing Hammer, or Bonk Hammer as it’s colloquially known in the community, has long been a staple for Titan players. Though nerfs over the last year ended its dominance, it remains a very popular part of the Titan toolkit. Many responses to the post were in agreement. One said, “Not having the bonk hammer on Prismatic Titan was the biggest disappointment of Final Shape. I was looking forward to maining Titan this expansion specifically because I was hoping Prismatic would give us the freedom to bonk, which was literally the only thing I wanted.” Another added, “It should be a criminal offense to show us the “provocative art” of the titan holding a throwing hammer and diamond lance and then NOT having it be an option lol. And no Hammer of Sol and Consecration don’t count.” Others felt that the major issue was that other classes were too strong, rather than Titan not having enough options. One said, “Yeah, and meanwhile, Prismatic Hunter has two melees that can be fully reset instantly (Combination Blow with dodge and Threaded Spike on Perfect Catch) without any cooldown at all.” Though balancing changes will continue to roll out, the likelihood of a Prismatic Bonk Titan remains relatively slim. That said, there are some competent alternatives, and Titans have improved since the initial meta saw them almost entirely locked out of the Salvation’s Edge Race to World First.

Destiny 2 players protest new Starter Pack with hilarious tags – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players protest new Starter Pack with hilarious tags SteamDestiny 2‘s new Starter Pack is causing huge outrage in the community, and fans are cleverly warning newcomers interested in purchasing the pack. It’s been a rough few weeks for Bungie, as the studio has been under fire for the massive layoffs committed in October. However, as the saying goes “the show must go on,” as a new season of content released to keep fans held over until the final expansion, which also suffered a massive delay. For a game that needed a huge win right now, Season of the Wish isn’t looking as hot as Bungie could’ve hoped for, with fans ripping the gameplay content. Aside from that, a nefarious “Starter Pack” has been making its way through the Destiny community, leaving fans livid. Destiny 2 Starter Pack marked with hilarious tags on Steam Aside from the usual drip feed of content Season of the Wish brings, it also brought the Destiny 2 Starter Pack — a way to give newcomers a headstart. For $15, players receive three exotic weapons, three cosmetics, and materials. This outraged the community for many reasons. Primarily, Destiny is absurdly daunting for new players to jump into. Along with that, this bundle can be viewed as a “pay-to-win” scheme or a desperate money grab. In the spirit of being guiding lights to newcomers, some fans have taken to Destiny 2’s Steam Page to tag the product. A few user tags include “Capitalism,” “Crime,” and “Psychological Horror.” Many have voiced that the Starter Pack feels actively deceptive. The weapons included aren’t even in the meta, the cosmetics are as they imply, and the materials can easily be earned. If you take it a step further, most of Destiny 2’s DLC is still sold for top dollar, most of which have been vaulted. However, the Steam community banding together is an absolute win for the scene, as they look to stand against devious “newcomer” points of entry. Time will tell how Bungie handles this season, but if this is how the seven-month season starts, don’t hold your breath Guardians.

Destiny 2 players prefer original game to “soulless” sequel – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players prefer original game to “soulless” sequel BungieThe Destiny 2 community has been debating if the original game was superior to its contemporary sequel. This has led to a sizable group of players stating that the first game was better and even labeling its successor as “soulless”. The original Destiny game launched in September 2014 as a console exclusive. It marked Bungie’s first original franchise since its split from Microsoft and its first game since Halo: Reach was released in 2010. After three years of content, the first game would be replaced by a sequel, Destiny 2. The second game in the series has gone on to deliver improved matchmaking, a greatly expanded sandbox, and much more content for players to work through. However, not everyone prefers the sequel with a significant chunk of the Destiny community instead favoring its predecessor. Destiny 2 community thinks sequel feels “soulless” compared to original Initially sparked by a Fallout Plays video uploaded on August 14, a Reddit post asking Destiny players how the original game was better has gotten a lot of attention. The post asked: “This community seems to go through phases ranging from ‘[Destiny 2] is absolute dogsh*t why didn’t they just keep adding to [Destiny 1]’ to ‘D1 and D2 are as good as each other’. Why was D1 better than D2 or even good?” The answers that followed were varied and divisive with one player replying: “D2 has MUCH more features than D1 and tons of problems in D1 were fixed in D2 eventually. It’s a much bigger game with much more content. That said, D2 feels kinda soulless compared to D1 and I can’t put my finger on why.” The same user elaborated further: “D1 had and has TONS of problems, especially at launch, but it also had tons of moments of creativity and experimentation. It had that consistent art design and an immersive atmosphere that I just don’t really get with D2.” Offering a comparable viewpoint, another Guardian conceded that “D2 is better than D1,” but thought “D1 (particularly at the end of its lifespan) felt more like a complete game than D2 does currently.” Some others preferred Destiny 1 for factors largely outside of Bungie’s control: “My clan was popping. There was optimism for the future. I was younger and better at PVP. Basically all external to the game things.” A reoccurring theme of most replies was the belief that although Destiny 2 is a better overall game, it lacks the identity of the original. Concerns over the sequel’s art direction, inconsistent tone, and overly aggressive monetization were all raised.

Destiny 2 players pray upcoming dungeon doesn’t repeat GoTD’s biggest mistake – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players pray upcoming dungeon doesn’t repeat GoTD’s biggest mistake BungieWith a new dungeon expected shortly, Destiny 2 players are praying that it doesn’t include the massive boss health pools that made Ghosts of the Deep a hassle to run. Season 21 saw the arrival of a new dungeon, Ghosts of the Deep. Guardians quickly realized it was the hardest dungeon yet with the boss’s gigantic health pools being the main culprit. While exact numbers are tricky to come by it’s believed that Ecthar – the dungeon’s first boss – and Simmumah – the final boss – both have around 8 million base health. That’s in addition to their 500k shield that needs to be broken at the start of every damage phase. That works out at around four times the base health of Shuro Chi, a literal raid boss in The Last Wish. These health pools have always upset players and now they are begging Bungie doesn’t repeat the same mistake. Destiny 2 fans worried next dungeon will have huge boss health pools Looking to raise the spirits of a downtrodden Destiny community, one Reddit post reminded players: “I know it’s pretty doom and gloom for Destiny right now but in a few weeks we get a new Dungeon and that’s pretty cool.” They clarified what they meant by this by linking back to Bungie’s initial announcement which promised “two dungeons released in Season 21 and 23,” signaling that a new dungeon is coming in Season of the Wish. While Destiny 2 players were excited by the prospects of a new dungeon, many are worried its bosses will inherit Ghosts of the Deep’s massive boss health pools. “…I am EXHAUSTED after a run of Ghosts, even with a competent and coordinated team. That amount of boss health was NOT the play, when you consider the sheer amount of set-up you need to do for both bosses. I hope the next one is balanced a little better,” one Guardian admitted. Others echoed a similar sentiment posting “This. The first encounter should not be 4 rotations. The walk to boss 1 should not take so long. Neither boss needs that much health…” Mocking Ghosts of the Deep’s boss design, another Guardian commented: “Time for a 20 million health boss with a 1.5 million health shield that can only be broken within the damage window effectively with sustained fire from tommy’s matchbook” Season of the Wish gets underway on November 28. If previous seasons are anything to go by the new dungeon should be added shortly after, potentially within just a few days of the new season starting.

Destiny 2 players praise “super fun” Warlord’s Ruin dungeon amid chaotic Season of the Wish – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players praise “super fun” Warlord’s Ruin dungeon amid chaotic Season of the Wish BungieDestiny 2‘s Season of the Wish had a very rough start where it received massive criticism from the fans. However, the brand new dungeon Warlord’s Ruin seems to have brought back smiles in the faces of the players as they have touted it “super fun”. Destiny 2 Season of the Wish has had a chaotic start from a community standpoint. The various changes that were introduced, a poor narrative in the opening week, a $15 starter pack selling exotics, and a lack of engrossing gameplay led to major outrage within the fanbase. However, the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon which was released on December 1, 2023, received universal acclaim from the fans. Everyone including players and content creators praised the developers for a beautiful dungeon that is not only super fun to play but it hits the right notes in every possible way. Some players are even claiming that Warlord’s Ruin is right up there with the Shattered Throne as one of the best dungeons in the game. Destiny 2’s Warlord’s Ruin dungeon brings back much-needed positivity to the community The discussion regarding Warlord’s Ruin was started by a Reddit user named Derekeys. The player claimed, “In the midst of a lot of annoying things, and there are plenty, the dungeon was super fun.” They further continued, “I found myself smiling in a lot of it. My friends and I were dying of laughter trying to escape the cells and getting spiked all the time and for sure the trap chests with screebs, too funny.” Other Reddit users joined into the conversation as well, since almost everyone shares a similar sentiment. One such player commented, “I think they really nailed the encounter balance.” Another user chimed in, “The thing I love the most is that you can try playing risky and it will pay off and let you have more time for boss damage.” One player also mentioned, “The whole dungeon was a giant D&D campaign.” However, it was not just players, as Destiny 2 content creators and streamers also sang praise about Warlord’s Ruin on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Sweatcicle for instance mentioned, “Might be my favorite dungeon to date. I know a lot of sentiment around d2 has been horrible recently but the dungeon was a nice light in the dark for the season.” Saltagreppo also shared his positive feelings with the tweet, “First experience of the Dungeon was extremely good. Top tier settings and the fights seemed interesting and engaging.” Therefore, Warlord’s Ruin was able to bring much-needed positivity back into the community. Destiny 2 has been in turmoil ever since the release of Lightfall. A lackluster campaign, a poor raid, a lack of variety in seasonal content, and all the mass layoffs in Bungie hurt the game a lot. However, this dungeon brought the community together as players had fun playing something in Destiny 2 after a long while.

Destiny 2 players praise major change to story content in future Episodes – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players praise major change to story content in future Episodes BungieBungie has announced a major change to the availability of story content in future Destiny 2 Episodes and players are ecstatic. Following a stream on July 9 that provided details on what to expect from Episode: Echoes Act 2, the developer subsequently clarified on Reddit that it intends to shake up how narrative beats are delivered in Episode: Revenant. Similar to Destiny 2’s retired Seasons, story progress is time-gated by weekly resets in Echoes. Beginning with Revenant, Guardians will have the option of completing an entire Act in one sitting instead of being forced to wait a week for the next segment if they so wish. “Our goal is to give players an opportunity to play at their own pace. We’ll be monitoring the feedback when these changes go live,” Bungie stated before signposting that Echoes’ remaining two Acts will retain “weekly story beats.” Reception to the shake-up was majorly positive, with responses on the thread praising the freedom of choice Revenant will afford. “Super happy to see this change. I know some players don’t like stretches without new content, but I think endgame challenges are enough to keep people coming back week to week,” said one user. “Great news. Needlessly dragging out content was stupid to begin with,” came another reply, adding “If people finish it in a day, they’ll find something else to grind for.” “This is fantastic news. These are the kind of formula changes I think most people were looking for,” came another. “It allows bingers to binge and others to take it at their own pace.” It’s worth reiterating that Bungie is treating this as a trial run of sorts. If feedback received after Revenant’s release indicates a preference for bite-sized weekly drops of story content, it’s possible that Episode: Heresy‘s format could return to what Guardians have now.

Destiny 2 players plead for buff to once-dominant exotic – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players plead for buff to once-dominant exotic BungieDestiny 2 players have expressed that they want a classic Shadowkeep exotic to return to its former glory, as it has become totally ineffective. Destiny 2 is full of fascinating guns and weapon concepts. The game’s unique arsenal is one of its biggest selling points. There is undoubtedly a gun you will love, and want to build around if you’ve put any amount of time into the title. Falling in love with an exotic, even if it’s off-meta, and making it work for you is a great way to establish your identity as a Guardian. However, when a weapon you love is terrible, it can feel really bad – especially when it’s been very good in the past. Of course, not everything can be meta all of the time. Still, it can be sad when something is surpassed by other options entirely. One gun, in particular, is going through that right now in Destiny 2, and players are wondering if it could see a buff to bring it back to its previous prominence. Eriana’s Vow should see a buff Eriana’s Vow is a special ammo Hand Cannon that was introduced in the Shadowkeep launch Battle Pass. This was right when Champions were introduced in the game, and there were scant options available to stun the overcharged enemies. However, for anything anti-barrier, Eriana’s was the way forward, which was great because it feels awesome to sue. However, more and more options have become available for stunning champions, either through abilities, mods, and weapons retroactively and Eriana’s Vow has since been left in the dust. A Reddit thread titled “Isn‘t it kinda silly at this point that Erianas Vow is still this bad?” by user PopAd_27 has garnered over 700 upvotes. The commenter suggests, “Just let it one-tap barrier shields on GM”. Guns like Arbitor can one-tap barrier shields, so it makes sense that Eriana’s should be able to too. One user said: “Yeah they have let this unique weapon totally languish. No reason not to buff it in PvE.” Another said: “They’ve let Arbalest and especially Wish-Ender take over its niche. I love the pistol and I still take it out occasionally, but those times have become increasingly few and far between” It would be great to see the fan-favorite get a buff because as of right now, it’s just outclassed by many other options.

Destiny 2 players pay tribute to Lance Reddick during Guardian Games – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players pay tribute to Lance Reddick during Guardian Games BungieDestiny 2 players are paying tribute to late actor Lance Reddick, who portrayed Zavala in the franchise, by playing as the Titan class during the 2023 Guardian Games event. Guardian Games is an annual event in Destiny 2 that began in 2020. It sees all three classes fight it out to decide which is best. The premise of the Guardian Games is that players earn medallions by completing activities and objectives. These medallions are then used at the Tower’s podium for rewards and progress for the class played. One of Destiny’s most notable Titan characters is Commander Zavala. Zavala is voiced by Lance Reddick who passed away in March 2023 and the Destiny community is using the new event as an opportunity to pay tribute. Destiny 2 players honor the late Lance Reddick One Reddit post on the official Destiny 2 subreddit received over 4,000 upvotes encouraging players to “Win it for Lance,” posted the day before the Guardian Games began. Another Destiny 2 fan posted a Tweet urging the community to “make Lance proud,” with a powerful piece of art featuring a Titan, a lion, and a tagline reading “Let’em hear you roar.” Destiny 2 content creators have been getting involved with the touching act too with Twitch streamer lockandloadliv tweeting: “Not only because Titans are the best, I am also choosing Titan to try to win guardian games in honor of Lance.” The honoring of Lance Reddick has achieved its goal with the Titan class currently dominating the 2023 Guardian Games event. A victory for Destiny 2’s tankiest class seems inevitable with them building such a convincing lead after just two days. This is the second time that the Destiny 2 community has honored Lance. In March 2023 players held vigils for Reddick by having a moment of silence alongside Commander Zavala.

Destiny 2 players over the moon with new Skimmer vehicle: “Better Sparrows” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players over the moon with new Skimmer vehicle: “Better Sparrows” BungieDestiny 2 players are over the moon with the new Skimmer vehicle, with players claiming that they’re better than Sparrows. Destiny 2 has just released the Guardian Games for 2024. The event sees the classes take on each other in an all-out battle to see who will reign supreme. This involves players collecting medals by completing various Competitor Cards in turn for rewards of varying sizes. Alongside the new weapon introduced for the new iteration of Guardian Games comes the Skimmer. This hip new vehicle is the first of its kind to be introduced to Destiny 2, taking on the likes of a skateboard that Guardians can scoot around on. Players have absolutely fallen in love with the new vehicles, elated that Bungie introduced an insanely fun vehicle category. Destiny 2 players express love for new Skimmer vehicle Players have discovered the ins and outs of Skimmers, and have realized that they’re far stronger than Sparrows. “They can jump, they can grind on strand-rails (basically, once activated you create a rail to grind on and never lose height unless you jump off) and the energy they use is tied exclusively to these moves, not the boost,” one Reddit user posted. Some are excited to see what new tech Guardians can combine together, allowing for the highest skill ceiling movement in Destiny 2. “Gotta say after ten years I don’t think a strict increase is the worst thing in the world, can’t wait to see what people get up to with the air grinding, grapple, and eager edge stuff.” Others discovered glitches that allowed them to fly with the Skimmer, making them even stronger than Sparrows with Sparrow Flying. With Skimmers being a brand-new addition to Destiny 2, it’s likely we’ll see more cosmetic variants and more in the future, truly cementing it as the top option for movement in Bungie’s looter shooter.

Destiny 2 players outraged over Beyond Light’s “weak” new Raid Exotic – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players outraged over Beyond Light’s “weak” new Raid Exotic BungieDestiny 2 players love powerful gear, and with several new exotic weapons released in Beyond Light there are plenty of exciting items to acquire. However, one new weapon – exotic rocket launcher Eyes of Tomorrow – is severely underperforming, and fans aren’t happy. In any Destiny 2 expansion, the main attraction for most players is new gear. In Beyond Light, there have been plenty of new weapons and armor pieces to chase despite a portion of the game’s older inventory being sunset. The new expansion introduced several exotics, including the rocket launcher Eyes of Tomorrow. The weapon’s unique perks allow it to fire rockets at multiple targets, and increase the weapon’s damage if enough enemies are eliminated in a single volley. Unlocked by the first completion of the Deep Stone Crypt raid, Guardians have gotten their hands on the weapon and tested it out themselves. After spending some time with the rocket launcher, the community discovered the weapon is not as powerful as they originally believed. Eyes of Tomorrow underwhelms In separate Reddit posts – one on r/DestinyTheGame and the other on r/RaidSecrets – players have identified at least two areas where Eyes of Tomorrow is severely underperforming. In the first post, ‘u/out_of_phase44’ describes how after receiving the rocket launcher and feeling it was underpowered, they took it into several activities to perform some testing. After testing, they noticed the launcher “seems to have an arbitrary ~50% damage reduction against raid bosses.” By comparing the launcher’s DPS against One Thousand Voices – an exotic introduced in Forsaken’s Last Wish raid – they discovered the new launcher is extremely underpowered compared to its counterpart. In the second post, user ‘u/KuaiBan’ had a similar feeling about Eyes of Tomorrow after acquiring it, and decided to do some testing in Lost Sectors and Master Nightfalls. They tested the launcher against another exotic – the Xenophage machine gun – and had similar findings. u/KuaiBan discovered the exotic is also experiencing reduced damage within the game’s Nightfalls, saying “After the tests, I have to conclude that Eyes of Tomorrow is acting weird in Master Nightfalls, dealing massively reduced damage for some reason.” They went on to say that after some additional testing, Eyes of Tomorrow is being outperformed by several legendary rocket launchers as well. Both users concluded that the new exotic is badly outclassed by both equal and lesser-quality gear in Raid and Nightfall activities. Bug or intended behavior? At the time of writing, Bungie has not officially responded to either Reddit thread. Players have yet to receive confirmation that the reduced damage output is intended or simply a bug that needs to be fixed. Regardless of the root cause, the Destiny 2 community voiced their frustration loudly in the comments sections of both posts. Read More: Destiny 2: Trials of Osiris delayed again – Responses like “God Bungie really knows how to ruin hype, don’t they,” and “I love this game . . . but I absolutely f**king hate this type of bulls**t they do,” were found frequently in the comments of both posts. Destiny 2 players will need to wait for an response from Bungie on whether Eyes of Tomorrow is bugged or functioning as intended. Guardians should keep an eye on Bungie social media and the two Reddit threads for updates.

Destiny 2 players must avenge another murder in this year’s Halloween event – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players must avenge another murder in this year’s Halloween event BungieBungie have announced details for this year’s Halloween event in Destiny, the Festival of the Lost. Festival of the Lost will kick off on October 16, and conclude on November 6. The Tower will of course be getting a spooky make-over, but there’s more to the event than just some decorations. Amanda Holiday is stepping in for the missing Eva Levante, offering daily bounties that will award “Fragmented Souls”. These can be used to purchase Festival gear, including masks and a Legendary Auto Rifle, Horror Story. Read more: All of the Overwatch Halloween Terror skins – The event also introduces the Haunted Forest, a challenge that will give Guardians 15 minutes to fight as far through as they can, facing progressively tougher foes. Players can face the Haunted Forest alone, with a pre-made fireteam, or through matchmaking. Though the Haunted Forest is likely set in Mercury’s Infinite Forest, Bungie has confirmed that all players will be able to participate in it – the Haunted Forest will not require the Curse of Osiris expansion, and will be accessible via a “different node”. Read more: Every Call of Duty Black Ops 4 map layout – Perhaps the most significant new addition, however, is a quest line that will see players avenge the death of Master Ives, who has been murdered. The quest line will kick off on October 30, and will add an additional source of powerful gear to be earned each week, offering players more ways of ranking up their power level after hitting the soft cap at 500. Of course, it wouldn’t be a holiday event without some appropriate new cosmetic gear. Festival of the Lost introduces a host of new cosmetics, and to help players unlock them the event also adds “Ephemeral Engrams”, which players will earn in addition to Steadfast Engrams upon each completion of their XP bar. For the duration of Festival of the Lost, players will essentially earn double Bright Engrams, which can be decrypted by Tess Everis for cosmetic gear. Eververse will also be selling Ephemeral Engrams for players that wish to buy more. To further ensure players don’t miss out on Festival loot, rewards from the Ephemeral Engrams will also be available for direct purchase on the Bright Dust store.

Destiny 2 players mock tutorial & suggest Apex Legends instead – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players mock tutorial & suggest Apex Legends instead BungieDestiny 2’s tutorial leaves much to be desired, and players have jokingly suggested newcomers look elsewhere for their FPS fix. Destiny 2 has been around since 2017, and in the four years since has become a pretty complex game. There are a wealth of activities, the game is in its fifteenth season, and there is a huge mess of currencies, quests, and expansions to sift through for newcomers. We recently published an article about how returning to the game after a hiatus was a nightmare, but for new players, it’s much worse. With Bungie committing to the Destiny Content Vault, a way of cycling content in and out of its first-person shooter/MMO hybrid, anyone jumping in now will be met with a short tutorial and very little story context. Ahead of the Witch Queen expansion in 2022, one Destiny fan took to the game’s subreddit to discuss how it feels trying to get new players into the franchise. Destiny 2 newcomers should play Apex Legends instead Reddit user CDClock’s post, titled “Trying to get new people to play the game be like” runs through a series of things experienced players would say when sharing the game they love with someone that hasn’t played before. Ripe for ridicule is the game’s initial, underwhelming tutorial, as well as the game’s bizarre pricing structure that means players can snag all current expansions for $40 – but that the biggest (and best), Forsaken, will be going away when The Witch Queen arrives. The upcoming 30th Anniversary pack from Bungie gets a mention, too, with the pack controversially including a dungeon that isn’t included with Witch Queen’s Deluxe Edition. Then there’s the requirement to buy that, and potentially season passes, too. At the end, the post jokes “why are you turning on Apex Legends?” While Apex Legends is a different sort of loot-shooter, there’s no denying it’s much easier to get into. The Destiny community has long joked about how much of an investment keeping up with the game has been, while also noting that it helps pay for new content from Bungie, but the post has some wishing the Red War campaign could make a comeback (the campaign that Destiny 2 launched with). “There should always be a full-fledged campaign as the intro to Destiny. I think the Red War would be perfect,” one commenter notes, while another says that the “Shadowkeep campaign should be free and the opening for new players” since it ties into the game’s current story arc. Last month we opined that Bungie should consider a monthly subscription service for Destiny 2 that includes the game’s expansions. As it stands, the base game of Destiny 2 is free (sans vaulted content), and there are three annual expansions to play through before Witch Queen. Forsaken, originally launched in 2018, will be free-to-play from December 7 – but will be removed when Witch Queen (and Season 16) launches. As for how Bungie will tweak the new player experience, it’s anyone’s guess – but it’s clear Destiny 2 needs something of a shakeup.

Destiny 2 players might have to wait two months to get Necrochasm’s catalyst – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players might have to wait two months to get Necrochasm’s catalyst BungieThe new raid Exotic Necrochasm has a catalyst that Destiny 2 players have calculated could take two months to complete. Bungie released the new reprised Crota’s End raid into Destiny 2 on September, 1. Along with the raid, Necrochasm returned from Destiny 1 as the new raid exotic. It features classic perks like Cursebringer which triggers Cursed Thrall explosions on Final Blows and Desperation, which increases the Auto Rifle’s rate of fire, stability, and aim assist if the user reloads after proccing Cursebringer. But not everyone is happy, with some Destiny 2 fans on Reddit being upset with the new Exotic’s catalyst. How to obtain the Necrochasm catalyst in Destiny 2 To obtain the catalyst, Guardians need to complete two time-trial challenges in the Crota’s End raid. After going through the necessary steps to begin the challenges, players need to clear both encounters in under 90 seconds. Doing this successfully will reward the Nechrocasm catalyst. But an official Bungie recently confirmed on a forum that “We can confirm on our side that Oversoul Fragments only drop once per week and per account as a guaranteed drop when completing that raid. Besides that, every encounter has a small drop chance, but it’s not guaranteed.” Destiny 2 fans are not happy about the Nechrocasm catalyst’s drop rate One Reddit user complained, “Bungie, please never do this again. Better to just stick with RNG drops at that rate, …there are better options than 1 out of 3 looted runs for, in this case, up to 10 weeks, 20 if we’re only guaranteed 1 drop and the others I’ve personally gotten were just dumb luck.” This catalyst has put some Guardians off grinding the Necrochasm catalyst: “I just stare at the sun until my eyes can no longer distinguish between the gold of the border and the yellow exotic icon and then pretend it has a gold border. Way faster than grinding for Oversouls and also better for my wellbeing.” Another Destiny 2 fan said, “My brain is just fine without it. F**k stressing it. It’ll come when it comes but chasing it down is definitely not on the radar.” Dexerto has tips on how to complete the Destiny 2 Crota’s End raid and also an in-depth guide on how to obtain the Necrochasm.

Destiny 2 players meme on Bungie for abysmal state of core activity – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players meme on Bungie for abysmal state of core activity BungieDestiny 2 players have memed on developer Bungie for the abysmal state of the core PvEvP activity Gambit. Destiny 2 offers players a multitude of activities to participate in, whether that be the story campaigns, seasonal activities, or even the various dungeons and raids on offer. These all grant the player plenty of loot are well worth the grind, and are definitely activities for when you want to be more engaged while playing Destiny. There are other core activities in Destiny 2, these have been a part of the game since launch, with one more being added in Forsaken. These come in the form of Strikes, the Crucible, and Gambit. Strikes and Crucible have seen their fair share of love from Bungie, with the Crucible PvP being revamped recently with a heap of sandbox changes. Unfortunately, the only one that hasn’t received any updates in a while is Gambit, which the community has joked about. Destiny 2 players joke about poor state of Gambit Highlighting the lack of attention Gambit has gotten, a player showcased that it’s been 5 years since a new Gambit map was released. The mode, which was released in Forsaken saw players race against another team to collect items and eventually summon a boss, taking it down to win the match. There was even an entire season dedicated to Gambit at one point, but now the mode has been left in disrepair, with some maps even being removed. Players have lashed out at Bungie for abandoning the mode, even though it’s supposed to be a core activity. “It’s not like it’s a core activity or anything /s” one user commented. “‘What’s a gambit?’- Bungie” another joked. Others requested that the devs simply return the removed maps, hopefully bringing back some of the player base. “Literally just give us the old maps back. I f*ckin loved the dreaming city and tangled shore maps. The Dreaming City one was by far my favorite gambit map.” With The Final Shape looming in the background, it’s highly unlikely Bungie will have the capability to make any improvements to Gambit, leaving players who love the mode stranded.

Destiny 2 players loathe current GM’s “peak bad” design – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players loathe current GM’s “peak bad” design BungieThe Destiny 2 community is tearing into the current Grandmaster Nightfall describing it as “peak bad” design, highlighting one big flaw that single-handedly ruins the Strike. GMs are the most challenging content in Destiny 2 offering a much more difficult version of Strikes with limited lives and a high power level. While it’s not uncommon for Grandmaster Nightfalls to infuriate players, a few of them have gained a reputation for being not just hard, but also hard to enjoy. The GM featured this week is an example of just that with the community calling out its flaws and praying it doesn’t return. Lake of Shadows is “miserable” when played properly Fed up with the state of the current Grandmaster, Lake of Shadows, one Destiny 2 player expressed on Reddit, “Lake of Shadows is peak bad strike design,” followed by, “Doing this strike on GM is an absolute slog. it’s tedious, the arenas are mostly ridiculously horrible and it’s even bugged since it was reworked.” Explaining what makes this Strike so bad in GM Nightfalls, they continued, “Sure you can cheese the hell out of it, which is what every sane person does, since the legit version is miserable.” The lengthy post went on to highlight several key issues with the Strike such as its unnecessarily large health pools, overly punishing enemies, a lack of cover, and glitched Taken pools that damage you even when not in contact with them. The post proved popular, receiving over 1,100 upvotes with numerous players sharing OP’s sentiment that the rework that made the Strike more challenging did more harm than good. One such comment reads, “Meatball boss is easily the worst part of the rework. The tracking shots it has plus all the gunk on the ground makes it a pain to fight. Add on the health pool of an early dungeon boss and it’s just plain ridiculous.” Another player responded, “The two escorts and three bosses feels like an overcorrection of a previously too quick Nightfall/Strike,” with them believing the current iteration of Lake of Shadows “appears to punish us for being the easiest nightfall at one point.” Others conveyed, “It’s a shame it’s so bad though, the arms dealer rework was way better,” and, “This strike is on the same level as The Corrupted as least favorite strikes to play.,” suggesting this Grandmaster Nightfall is deeply unpopular when compared to other reworked Strikes. The Nightfall rotation is not expected to change until The Final Shape is released. If the rotation remains untouched then Lake of Shadows will make one more appearance before the end of the season between April 23 and April 30.

Destiny 2 players lash out as Bungie resells old season pass items for “ridiculous” prices – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players lash out as Bungie resells old season pass items for “ridiculous” prices BungieDestiny 2 players have lashed out at Bungie after content from previous season passes was brought back to the store for high amounts of silver. Ever since Seasons were introduced in Destiny 2 back in 2018 with Season of the Forge, these limited-time offerings would present players with content that would only exist for a limited time, as well as a battle pass that rewarded players with items and cosmetics. Players would get insane bang for their buck when progressing through the battle pass, but they’d need to play consistently in order to reap all the rewards. Anyone who purchases the battle pass and misses out on the rewards isn’t able to gather any more experience for that pass, meaning once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. That is until Bungie re-introduced several items from previous season passes into the paid Eververse store. And players are not too happy about the pricing. Destiny 2 players lash out after battle pass cosmetics placed back in store Investigative players discovered that the items on offer in the Eververse store which used to cost $10 USD now cost approximately $89 USD if you want the sets on all characters. Many players expressed their willingness to buy the cosmetics if they weren’t priced at such a high cost. “Damn, inflation really hit hard. I would have gladly paid 10/15 bucks to get things I missed in a previous season, but this is ridiculous.” the post reads. Players did note that they could purchase the items for the standard bundle price, meaning players weren’t being charged more if they had missed out. Regardless, it definitely left a bad taste in player’s mouths. “My only gripe is if someone either had earned and not claimed or had owned the season and not leveled up. If you simply didn’t play then or didn’t buy the season then it’s whatever you never were going to get it anyway.” they claimed. “Yeah, did a double-take when I looked at the Silver costs, holy crap what a ripoff. I was expecting the Finisher/Emote/Ornament to be in a bundle for 1,500 Silver. I. Was. Wrong. GUESS YOU HAD TO BE THERE…” another exclaimed. It’s unlikely these prices will change despite the backlash, meaning players who missed out on the cosmetics will just have to purchase it the old-fashioned way.

Destiny 2 players lament “underwhelming” Raid Exotic that’s been power crept – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players lament “underwhelming” Raid Exotic that’s been power crept BungieDestiny 2 players have been trying out old exotics, leading them to the conclusion that the One Thousand Voices Exotic Fusion Rifle is “incredibly underwhelming,” despite it being a Raid exclusive drop. Throughout its lifespan, Destiny has released numerous Dungeon and Raid-exclusive Exotic weapons. From Divinity to Conditional Finality, some have established themselves as the best Exotic weapons in Destiny 2. However, certain older Raid weapons haven’t aged so well. Years of power creep and stronger content being released have left these Exotics in a tough place. Now Destiny 2 fans think they’ve identified the biggest offender of this with one of the looter shooter’s classic Exotics failing the test of time. One Thousand Voices Exotic labeled “underwhelming” by Destiny 2 community After playing around with the One Thousand Voices Fusion Rifle, a Destiny 2 player was left unimpressed. The Heavy Exotic weapon hasn’t aged well with the user branding it “underwhelming,” and “bad.” The post reads: “One Thousand Voices is incredibly underwhelming for a Raid Exotic. I took it back out after a few years in the Vault and yes, it’s sick as hell to use, but my god, I forgot how bad it is. Its damage output is not worth an Exotic, or even just a Heavy slot, with how little ammo it can hold.” Trying to identify a role for the Exotic Fusion Rifle, they continued: “It’s maybe fine on ad clear, but only for niche situations when you can’t use a Sword and a Machine Gun just wouldn’t cut it for some reason, and then at that point, you’re probably out of heavy for boss damage.” This sentiment proved popular with another player responding: “Oh man, I completely agree with this. I was running DSC Abomination and these guys decided to use 1K. I thought that rockets would be better since I always one phase with rockets. After about 5 DPS attempts and not 1 phase, I said to use rockets.” A similarly minded user replied: “I still pull it out occasionally, but it’s bad. If you’re using a Power weapon for ad clear, a legendary machine gun is better than this raid exotic. A few fans reminisced over when One Thousand Voices was meta: “I miss Particle Deconstruction, it was so fun to have 1K viable. Wish it got a catalyst.” Particle Deconstruction was an Armor Mod in Season 15 that increased the damage dealt by Fusion Rifles and Linear Fusion Rifles. This damage increased stacked and was very powerful with One Thousand Voices. A few fans proposed that this should be brought back as a catalyst for the Exotic Fusion Rifle. One Thousand Voices isn’t the only Exotic Weapon to spark debate in the Destiny 2 community. Players have also been unhappy with one of Huckleberry’s traits which they believe isn’t being described accurately.

Destiny 2 players lament big nerf to the only viable Sword – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players lament big nerf to the only viable Sword BungieThe Destiny 2 community is upset after the Lament, possibly the best sword in the game, was a hit with a major nerf that removed much of its viability. Players are looking for other options and coming up blank. As the game prepares for its upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, there are a lot of weapons getting tweaks to prepare players for the big climax. However, some players believe these changes have gone too far. Lament is the most recent target, and it’s left many Destiny 2 players disappointed. One of the best parts of using the Lament was how it would recover the user’s health when they damaged an enemy. This key part of the weapon’s effectiveness has been nerfed by 20%, making it much harder to tank through damage while charging at the enemy. On the Destiny 2 subreddit, one fan expresses their frustration about this big hit, saying that bringing the healing effect down by that percentage is “beyond overkill.” That 20% nerf is also carried over to the Lament’s ability to rev up like a chainsaw to increase its damage. Now, the high-end damage of this revving is down by 20%. Some Destiny 2 players are speculating that this nerf is a result of what’s to come, with one user theorizing: “Wonder if swords are too strong against the upcoming raid bosses in internal testing or something.” Lament was a great option to use against bosses in Destiny 2, especially Crota, who had a 15% weakness to swords. It could be that they are simply reducing its damage for the upcoming bosses that are being added to the Pantheon. Bungie is working to get the game where they feel it needs to be for The Final Shape to be at its best. This includes the right weapons and their proper stats leading up to its release. However, that groundwork has impacted player hype for the anticipated expansion, with one fan going so far as to say the nerfs are a “kick in the balls.” Swords, in general, have not often had a spot in the meta since they were introduced in the Taken King expansion for the first game. Lament felt like the only option that was viable for big encounters for many players, so the negative response to its nerfs are no surprise. While this nerf to the Lament is certainly a disappointment for the Destiny 2 community, there are other weapons that are set to receive decent buffs when The Final Shape arrives on June 4.

Destiny 2 players hopeful for the future after Sony’s Bungie buyout – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players hopeful for the future after Sony’s Bungie buyout Bungie/SonySony’s acquisition of Bungie is sure to leave a mark on Destiny 2 but the game’s community is hopeful that it will be a positive change for the title. On January 30, the Destiny 2 community was rocked by the announcement that Sony was purchasing Bungie for $3.5 billion dollars and the aftershock is still being felt. There has been plenty of discussion over the potential positive and negative side effects of this move, but the community is optimistic on the whole. While it’s early days yet and little is known about what the future holds, here’s why players are staying hopeful. Destiny 2 players hopeful for future after Sony acquisition There is still a lot to be learned about what’s to come after this acquisition. While it will no doubt be a while before we know exactly what’s to come, some players have drawn a clear line in the sand on what they’d be willing to give up and what would be going too far. For example, one player on Reddit noted that they’re excited about the change, but would like to avoid the pitfalls of the original Destiny’s console exclusivity: ” As long as they don’t make platform exclusive weapons/strikes/maps (like in Destiny 1 for PlayStation) this can hopefully be good.” Another user asserted that Bungie being able to keep making the game they set out to make, but with some extra capital to help, has to be a big win for the studio and the franchise. “Bungie keeping full creative control and publishing independence. No exclusives from the sound of it. And a source of cash flow to grow their studio and further develop Destiny and other IPs seems like a dub to me.” It will be a while before the true effect of this buyout is known. However, it’s clear that the game’s community has faith in the studio to do what’s right for their fans.

Destiny 2 players honor Lance Reddick with touching in-game tribute – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players honor Lance Reddick with touching in-game tribute DaftKJ | Twitter/Destiny 2/thereallancereddick | InstagramLance Reddick voiced Commander Zavala, a character who has played an integral part of Destiny’s story from the very beginning. Shortly following reports of his passing, Destiny 2 players have been spotted holding vigils for the esteemed voice and screen actor. Lance Reddick had a long and storied history within Hollywood even before he took the gaming scene by storm by putting his acting prowess on display in multiple AAA titles. Between his incredible performance as Sylens in the Horizon series to his voice being lent to Commander Zavala, a pivotal character in the Destiny series, he’s had a massive impact in some of the world’s most popular video games. Destiny 2 players were hit hard by news of his passing, with players gathering around Commander Zavala in-game to hold vigils in tribute to the iconic voice actor. Destiny 2 players hold vigils for recently deceased Lance Reddick Lance Reddick was a part of dozens of TV shows and films over the course of his illustrious career that spanned over two decades. Though he had on screen roles he was well known for like those in the John Wick films, he really hit his stride as a video game voice actor as well. Between his major roles in the Horizon series and the Destiny games, he made waves in the games industry with his stellar and memorable performances in both titles. With him being a crucial part of Destiny’s almost decade-long history as Commander Zavala, a main character in the series from the very beginning, Destiny 2 players have come together to hold vigils for Reddick. Players have been using emotes and in-game poses to gather around Zavala, putting their weapons down and taking a moment of silence. Though he may be gone, players can at least approach him in-game and continue to have his voice guide them through their adventures in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 players have given up after “absurd” Exotic class item changes – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players have given up after “absurd” Exotic class item changes BungieDestiny 2’s 8.0.5 patch went live on August 6, bringing with it, among other things, changes to Exotic class item drop rates, and initial impressions from players haven’t been positive. With them being a key piece of kit for any Guardians wanting to construct Prismatic builds, Bungie has faced repeated calls since The Final Shape’s launch to review the difficulty of farming for different Exotic class item rolls. The developer finally deployed balance adjustments intended to address said issues, but either by design or oversight, they appear to have made the loot hunt even longer. The official tweaks are as follows: Adjusted chances for acquiring Exotic class items from chests to be more generous. Increased progression on escalation chest chances. – Removed progression on world chest chances. World chests can still drop the item but won’t increase drop chances from future chests. – – – Despite the buffs, a Reddit post slamming the post-patch rate of obtaining class items has been heavily upvoted, with one player insisting “Three Overthrows for one Exotic class item, this is absurd.” They later added that it “Takes less time doing a single Dual Destiny run rather than three Overthrows.” While the author admitted they could have fallen victim to “bad RNG,” others shared similar experiences. “I gave up after two Overthrows and nothing to show for it,” came one reply. “I have done five and have not received a class item,” another lamented. A shared pain point was confusion over Bungie’s decision to reduce drop rates for class items from World chests, with one community member insisting, “It was so clear this was going to end up being a nerf. Running around and opening World chests was way easier.” While the drop rate changes have been received negatively by players, it’s worth noting that weekly completions of Dual Destiny now award an additional Exotic class item drop, so there’s extra incentive to farm the co-op mission. Update 8.0.5 also marked the beginning of Destiny 2’s annual Solstice event. Check out our hub for all the armor and weapon rewards up for grabs to make sure you don’t miss out.

Destiny 2 players hate what Guardian Games has become after Titan takeover – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players hate what Guardian Games has become after Titan takeover BungieDestiny 2 players aren’t fond of changes made to the Guardian Games event with Bungie making tweaks behind the scenes to dethrone Hunters and let Titans take over instead. The Guardian Games 2024 event received some criticism early on from players after Hunters dominated it and the two other classes could not compete. This inevitably led to more Guardians playing Hunter to earn more Focus Activity Winner Packages, furthering the class’ dominance. To balance this out, Bungie adjusted how scoring is calculated on March 12, leading to the Titan class eclipsing both Hunter and Warlock. Eager to earn more Winner Packages, Destiny players again switched classes this time to Titan. This approach to balancing has not been received well with the community now speaking out against Bungie and questioning why the class scores are being manipulated in such a way. Destiny 2 players slam volatile Guardian Games standings Upset at what Guardian Games has become following Bungie’s adjustments to how score is calculated, one player posted on Reddit, “Guardian Games Focused Activity Standings are a joke.” They then questioned, “How is any other class meant to compete against titans for the winners reward package? Am I misunderstanding this?” Poking fun at the event’s design, the most upvoted comment replied, “Bungie tuning things so that instead of one class dominating, another class dominates instead. 10,000 iq event design.” Another infuriated player responded, “What is the point of the games if you shoot the hunters in the kneecaps each year? Just make it a competition of Solar/Arc/Void so we don’t have to deal with the constant rigging of the games because Bungie doesn’t like who is winning.” Burned out by the event’s design, someone else commented, “The obvious incredible skew absolutely kills gg for me. I’ll do just enough to get torch rewards each week or until I get the rolls I’m looking for. but I feel no drive to donate to the cause.” Others were confused by the sudden change with one such Guardian asking, “Weren’t hunters killing it last week?” before a different user explained, “Yeah. Now they’ve weighted it so Hunters get reduced points. Nobody is playing hunter anymore because we’re handicapped.” In addition to concerns about the volatile scoring, Destiny 2 players have also spoken out against the daily activities with one critical flaw holding them back.

Destiny 2 players hail Guardian Games 2024 as “best event” by far – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players hail Guardian Games 2024 as “best event” by far BungieThe Destiny 2 community has heaped praise onto Guardian Games 2024 with players insisting that it’s the best event of the year and that the criticism isn’t justified. With Guardian Games 2024 ending on March 26, Destiny 2 players have spoken out to defend the event bringing light to its positives and why they think it’s been so fun. This was accompanied by a ‘Chad vs Virgin’ meme with the latter complaining about the event’s weapons and the former praising the loot, endless matchmaking, and new Skimmer vehicle. One like-minded player couldn’t help but agree replying, “That Gold Ability Empowerment buff is ADDICTIVE. Makes testing builds so much easier,” paying tribute to the event’s unique buff that provides increased weapon damage, mobility, accuracy, handling, and reload speed. Another response expressed in agreement, “Too many people only care about their supposed accomplishments in this game and don’t enjoy actually playing it,” with them enjoying Guardian Games 2024’s content. Others chose to focus on the incredible gains the event offers commenting, “Not to mention, GG and Vanguard bright dust bounties can be completed at the same time for easy gains,” as well as, “I have a new wave frame grenade launcher. Easy bright dust farming. Easy nightfall rewards.” Not everyone has enjoyed Guardian Games 2024 though. Some Destiny 2 players have been critical of the event’s pre-determined victors while others called for an overhaul of how the event works to make it more fun.
