Destiny 2 Exotic weapon’s stealth buff makes it “better than ever before” A stealth buff to an underrated Exotic weapon has seen it rise in the meta and become one of the best options in Destiny 2, with Aztecross describing it as “better than ever before.” Destiny 2 is not short on Exotics that players can use to build and find their own fun in the looter shooter’s vast sandbox. Some of these are meta-defining Exotic weapons while others need a buff or two before being worth using. While most weapon changes are listed in TWIDs and are easy enough to track that isn’t always the case. Bungie has been known to occasionally stealth buff or nerf both weapons and armor alike. That’s exactly what has happened with a popular Solar Exotic weapon which is currently outputting its most impressive DPS numbers ever following a massive stealth buff. Destiny 2 Exotic Tommy’s Matchbook given Ignition stealth buff In a breakdown video posted by Aztecross, the leading Destiny 2 content creator tested Tommy’s Matchbook and concluded that it has been significantly stealth-buffed. Comparing Ignition damage values between Season 21 and Season 23 against Shayotet Partisan, better known as Carl, Aztecross found the following results: Season 21 Ignition damage: 17,087 – Season 23 Ignition damage: 42,717 – This represents a 150% buff to Ignition damage which Tommy’s Matchbook can trigger twice per magazine. It’s possible to reliably increase this to three times per magazine if the Kindling Trigger and Flint Striker artifact mods are both equipped. Praising the Exotic Auto Rifle, Aztecross expressed, “Tommy’s Matchbook is better than ever before. And no, it’s not just the Artifact Mods that are enhancing Tommy’s Matchbook although yes that does help.” Elaborating further Aztecross continued, “Bungie stealth buffed this Auto Rifle. I’m not sure when it happened but its Ignition damage is hitting much higher.” Although Tommy’s Matchbook is now an excellent weapon it does overheat and damage the user potentially leaving them vulnerable in higher-end content. This can be mitigated by obtaining its catalyst and hip-firing but it’s still a significant con of this Exotic that Guardians need to be aware of.

Destiny 2 Exotic weapon perk is misleading and players are asking for a change – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic weapon perk is misleading and players are asking for a change Players in Destiny 2 have asked for a perk on an Exotic weapon to be renamed as it’s currently being underestimated. Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 are a main part of the game’s identity. Ever since Destiny 1, the hunt for these unique guns has been the backbone of the game. While not all of them are winners, they’re all unique and have their own flavor and identity. This comes down to the Exotic perks on the guns which are unique to these weapons. These can be fairly straightforward, like Jade Rabbit’s which allows you to get body shots to then increase headshot damage. However, some are iconic, such as Gjallerhorn’s Wolfpack Rounds which create tracking projectiles on rocket impact. To round these, many have a more mundane perk too, ones which can be found on Legendary weapons. However, in one gun’s case, that’s not quite true. The Huckleberry is an underrated primary Exotic SMG that can tear through red-bar enemies very quickly. The game says it has the Rampage perk, though as players are pointing out, that label is a bit misleading. The Huckleberry is stronger than it’s listed in Destiny 2 In a Reddit thread, user Nukesnipe pointed out that the version of Rampage on the gun doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s actually better. This is because, before Shadowkeep, Rampage was the most desirable weapon perk on primaries in the game. Before the expansion, Bungie rejigged how damage was calculated as well as nerfed Rampage. However, to keep Huckleberry feeling Exotic, they allowed it to maintain the old numbers. Rampage now gets 10% on each stack, whereas Huckleberry’s version gets 20%. Because of this, players are now asking for this version of Rampage to see a new name to better highlight how great the gun is. As pointed out by one user, Monte Carlo’s Swashbuckler has a similar problem, with a stronger version of that perk built into the gun. It seems like a good idea for Bungie to signify that these are improved versions of these perks with a name change. Hopefully, the developer doesn’t decide to go the other way and bring these perks in line with their Legendary counterparts!

Destiny 2 Ager’s Scepter: How to get exotic Trace Rifle & catalyst in Year 5 – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Ager’s Scepter: How to get exotic Trace Rifle & catalyst in Year 5 BungieAger’s Scepter is an exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2, so here’s how to get it in Year 5, along with its catalyst. Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost added the Ager’s Scepter Trace Rifle, but with Bungie vaulting the game’s content, you won’t be able to complete the Tracing The Stars quest in Year 5 of the loot-shooter. That’s because the quest simply doesn’t exist anymore. Still, it’s still worth pursuing as it’s a great weapon that deals plenty of damage in PvE and PvP. Here’s how to get Ager’s Scepter and catalyst in Destiny 2 Year 5. Contents How to get Ager’s Scepter in Destiny 2 – How to unlock the Ager’s Scepter Catalyst in Destiny 2 – What does the Ager’s Scepter Catalyst do? – How to get Ager’s Scepter in Destiny 2 While there used to be a lengthy quest called “Tracing the Stars” that had players collecting Astral Skews throughout the Dreaming City before completing a new mission, things are much simpler now. For now, you’ll need to head to Destiny 2’s Monument To Lost Lights in the Tower. Once here, you can find Exotic weapons that have had their quests removed. Head into the Year 4 section and you’ll find the weapon. If you aren’t able to access it, you’ll need to check you’ve purchased the Beyond Light expansion from 2020. The expansion is a prerequisite for getting your hands on the weapon. As for how much it’ll cost, you’ll need the following: 1 Exotic Cipher – 125,000 Glimmer – 200 Helium Filaments – 1 Ascendant Shard – As a reminder, Xur will offer a weekly quest to earn an Exotic Cipher if you don’t have one already. Ascendant Shards can be purchased from Rahool the Cryptarch for 10 Enhancement Prisms, 100 Planetary Materials, and 50,000 Glimmer. How to unlock Ager’s Scepter’s Catalyst in Destiny 2 Again, getting the Catalyst was a lengthy process back during Season of the Lost, but in Year 5 (post-Witch Queen) you’ll just have to complete activities. Vanguard Strikes, Nightfalls, Crucible Matches, and Gambit Matches all have a chance to award the Catalyst for the weapon, but you’ll have to rely on luck. What does the Ager’s Scepter Catalyst do? The Catalyst adds a perk called “Will Given Form” which overflows the weapon when a Guardian’s Super is full. This causes increased damage and improved slowing and freezing, but it’ll eat away at your Super to do so. To trigger the perk, hold the reload button (Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, and R on PC). That’s how to get Ager’s Scepter & its catalyst in Destiny 2. Destiny 2 Exotic still dominating Trials of Osiris despite nerfs – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic still dominating Trials of Osiris despite nerfs BungieOne of Destiny 2’s strongest-ever Exotic weapons has continued to dominate in Trials of Osiris even after receiving nerfs. In a balance patch on July 2, Khvostov 7G-0X received three adjustments to rein in its prevalence. One of these “corrected an issue that was significantly reducing recoil”, while increasing stability by 30 to compensate. The remaining two changes curbed the damage of Khvostov‘s The Right Choice Exotic perk, resulting in its ricochet rounds dealing less damage across the board. Despite this, the auto rifle has remained a top pick in PvP. Per Destiny Trials Report, as of writing, Khvostov has accounted for 7% of all Trials kills, more than any other gun. Red Death Reformed, having received its Catalyst with Echoes Act 2 on July 16, has been a close second at 6%. Staple PvP workhorses such as Igneous Hammer (Adept), Ace of Spades, Rose, and Conditional Finality have remained prevalent, albeit to a lesser degree due to the new options added in The Final Shape. Trials of Osiris runs from daily reset on Fridays until the following weekly reset on Tuesdays, so there’s still plenty of time for standings to change. However, considering Khvostov already has a lead of 50,000 kills over second place, there’s unlikely to be too much movement. The question is whether the results from this weekend will prompt Bungie to consider a second balance pass to reduce Khvostov’s potency further. Looking for something new to spice up your PvP loadouts? Someday, a Precision Frame shotgun obtained from the Pale Heart, has access to an incredible perk pool and is absolutely worth hunting Red Borders for. Destiny 2 Exotic no longer requires brutal mission to unlock after The Final Shape launch – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic no longer requires brutal mission to unlock after The Final Shape launch BungieDestiny 2 The Final Shape is out and a lot of content from Lightfall has been vaulted, including an Exotic mission that rewarded a powerful weapon that can now be gotten with ease. One of the hardest Exotic Weapons to get in Lightfall was Wicked Implement. The Stasis Scout Rifle required Guardians to complete its Exotic Mission, which was lengthy, timed, and featured a brutal Tormentor boss right at the end. However, that mission has now been vaulted, and Destiny 2 players can instead unlock Wicked Implement through the Monument to Lost Lights, better known as the Exotic Archive. To do so, head to the Tower and interact with the Exotic Archive near Banshee. Navigate to Lightfall Exotics, and finally purchase Wicked Implement for x1 Exotic Cipher and x100,000 Glimmer. To get the most out of Wicked Implement, you’ll want its catalyst. When equipped, Wicked Implement’s catalyst grants it Hadopelagic Tribute and Headstone. These allow the Stasis Scout Rifle to spawn Stasis crystals and make it possible to overflow its magazine. While the catalyst was previously available through Deep Dives, it can now be earned as a random drop from playlist activities instead. Simply complete Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit matches, and you’ll have a chance of receiving the catalyst. Don’t be surprised if it takes a while though. Destiny 2 catalysts can be extremely time-consuming to farm, especially if you get unlucky. Destiny 2 players can also purchase Lightfall’s four seasonal weapons from the Archive. This includes Verglas Curve, Centrifuse, Ex Diris, and Dragon’s Breath. Of these, Dragon’s Breath is the standout, with the Solar Rocket Launcher being one of the best Exotic Weapons in the game. Previously, Guardians also had to spend Ascendant Shards to unlock Exotic Weapons from the Archive, but this resource is no longer required. This makes old Exotics more accessible to players who aren’t able to complete end-game activities to farm Ascendant Shards like GM Nightfalls.

Destiny 2 Exotic Mission Rotator: Schedule and loot table this week – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic Mission Rotator: Schedule and loot table this week BungieThe Exotic Mission Rotator returns in The Final Shape, with the fan-favorite weekly activity avoiding the content vault. Here’s everything you need to know about the Exotic Mission Rotator in Destiny 2, including how it works, this week’s schedule, and what loot is up for grabs. Destiny 2 has introduced hundreds of seasonal weapons throughout its numerous seasons, with some being top-tier options that new players can’t reasonably acquire anymore. It can be frustrating knowing you missed out on powerful guns like Retrofit Escapade, IKELOS_SMG, and Scatter Signal. Thankfully, Bungie implemented a solution to this problem back in Season 22. Known as the Exotic MIssion Rotator, this weekly activity lets players earn enhanced versions of vaulted Exotic weapons and old seasonal guns alike. However, only one Exotic Mission is featured each week. Miss it, and you will have to wait several weeks for another chance to earn that mission’s unique rewards, so it’s important you know what this week’s rotation is. Exotic Mission Rotator schedule This week’s featured mission is Vox Obscura, giving you the chance to unlock Dead Messenger. It will remain the weekly mission until the weekly reset on September 24, at which point it will be replaced by another mission. Here’s the full Exotic Mission Rotator schedule for Echoes Act 3: Exotic Mission Rotator loot table Most available Exotic missions have their own unique loot pools for players to farm. This loot table is made up of old seasonal weapons that are all craftable. Every week, players can receive three guaranteed Red Border drops by doing the following: Complete the featured Exotic Mission on Regular difficulty. – Complete the featured Exotic Mission on Legend difficulty. – Complete two runs of the featured Exotic Mission on any difficulty. – Following completions in the same week will still reward seasonal weapons from the appropriate loot table, but they are not guaranteed to be Red Borders. These are the loot tables for the five Exotic quests currently in rotation: Presage Additionally, you can earn the Eidolon Pursuant armor set first released in Season 17. Vox Obscura Additionally, you can earn the Tusked Allegiance armor set first released in Season 16. Operation: Seraph’s Shield Additionally, you can earn the Warmind’s Avatar armor set first released in Season 19. //NODE.OVRD.AVALON// Additionally, you can earn the Techeun’s Regalia Avatar armor set first released in Season 20. Starcrossed Additionally, you can earn the Wyrmguard armor set first released in Season 23. What is the Exotic Mission Rotator? The Exotic Mission Rotator is a weekly activity first added in Season 22, where players can complete and farm old Exotic quests for various rewards. These rewards include craftable variants of returning Exotics, a range of old seasonal guns that were not farmable before this activity, and even Red Border drops for craftable Legendary weapons. Each week will see a different Exotic Mission featured, each with its unique loot and craftable Exotic up for grabs. How to access the Exotic Mission Rotator You can access and play the Exotic Mission Rotator by selecting the Destinations tab, Legends, and finally clicking the featured weekly Exotic quest. The only requirement to start each mission is to either own the respective expansion or season connected to the relevant Exotic weapon. However, it’s also recommended to be at least 1945 Power for Standard difficulty and 2005 Power for Expert difficulty, as these are the current activity power caps. The Exotic Mission Rotator isn’t the only Destiny 2 feature you’ll need to master to avoid missing out. There are also Deepsight Harmonizers and this month’s Promo Codes. If it’s an optimized loadout you need instead, check out these guides on the best Exotic Weapons, PvE Weapons, and PvP Weapons to use.

Destiny 2 players encounter softlock bug in Echoes Act 3’s Exotic Mission – Dexerto
Destiny 2 players encounter softlock bug in Echoes Act 3’s Exotic Mission BungieDestiny 2 players say dying under certain circumstances in Echoes Act 3’s Exotic Mission may softlock progression. Echoes Act 3 adds another Exotic Mission to D2. Notably, completing the quest rewards players with a brand-new Exotic rifle known as Chorus of One. While the quest may seem relatively straightforward, some unfortunate Destiny 2 users have already encountered an error that stifles progression. In a PSA posted to the Destiny subreddit, a user named DannyKage warned fellow fans of a “softlock in [the] new Exotic Mission.” According to the Redditor, dying while holding the Vex Module Connection during a mandatory quest objective isn’t ideal because “you will lose it and have to restart.” Other players chimed in to say they’ve also run into this issue. One replied, “Yep, I’ve got the partition module and have been blocked out [of] the room, ridiculous this.” A Bungie Forums user shared details of their encounter with the same quest bug. They noted that, upon death, players will respawn outside of the Vex Module Connection’s location with no way to re-enter from that point. As a result, the only way forward is to restart the Mission and repeat the section without dying. The Destiny 2 community isn’t pleased that the new Exotic Mission launched with a major attached to it. Wrote one frustrated fan in the Reddit comments, “You’d think this would have been found in testing…” Another joined the chorus to add, “So we wait for how long, and now this new mission isn’t working properly!?” Echoes Act 3 marks the final part of Destiny 2’s first Episode, a format that replaced the seasonal model with the release of The Final Shape. Hopefully, Bungie will sort out the Vex Module Connection bug long before Episode 2: Revenant gets started.

Destiny 2 Exotic is the most dominant Trials weapon since The Craftening – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic is the most dominant Trials weapon since The Craftening BungieDestiny 2’s Trials of Osiris always has the potential to throw up surprises as guns rise to the top of the meta quickly. That has happened once again, with a relatively new Exotic dominating the kill counts for the past week. According to Trials Report on Twitter/X, the Khvostov 7G-0X is seeing spectacular usage in the competitive PvP mode. Overall, the gun managed to rake in a little over 4.9 million kills, while its nearest rival, the also new Red Death Reformed, managed a still impressive 1.359 million. That amounts to a 24% share of the total kills across Trials of Osiris for the last week, with Red Death Reformed in second on 7%. The rest of the top ten list is mainly made up of the usual suspects, including Rose, The Summoner (Adept) and Conditional Finality. The major thing that these statistics don’t account for is how successful players have been using the Khvostov. There’s no arguing that the gun is brilliant at the moment, but it’s unclear how many players were able to go Flawless in Trials using the weapon as their main. This is the highest percentage usage since the Ammit-AR2 rose to prominence during The Craftening. The Craftening saw the community find a bug where the perks of one gun could be placed onto another, using clever manipulation of the network. As such, it might not be time for the community to resign themselves to nerfs at this juncture. The gun’s time-to-kill is solid, but it isn’t outstripping the other meta guns in any significant way, and Bungie will likely be cautious before wielding the nerf hammer. That said, many players are requesting specific nerfs in the comments. One fan said, “I think the problem for me is the easy orb generation that leads to the empowered ricochets. Nerf the empowered ricochet and Speakers Helm easy orbs strat, and the gun should be fine. At base, it is not as OP as the numbers might show.” Another user added, “That gun is crazy, but Idk if I’m ready to call it OP yet. Peak shooting can reliably beat it. But maybe it does need to be toned down. Autos, the easiest guns to pick up, maybe shouldn’t be that lethal.” There is no word yet on whether next week’s update will include nerfs for the Khvostov or any other Trials weapon.

Destiny 2 Exotic is nuking enemies after huge damage buff – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic is nuking enemies after huge damage buff DexertoA huge buff to Aggressive Scout Rifles in Update 8.0.5 has turned a fan favorite cowboy Exotic into one of Destiny 2’s best primary weapons for dealing with Minor combatants. Destiny’s latest major patch, released on August 6, 2024, saw Aggressive Scout Rifles given a 30% damage boost in all PvE content. This change affects all enemy types, from red bars to bosses, and is universal to every weapon in the archetype, including Dead Man’s Tale. Additionally, DMT receives a further 40% damage boost against minor combatants due to it being an Exotic weapon. With this boost applied on top of the universal buff, it now deals 19,608 damage against red bars in dungeon-level content. This is increased by 25% when Cranial Spike is procced, resulting in Special ammo levels of DPS on a primary. Even better, the Exotic Scout Rifle has a boosted fire rate of 140 RPM when fired from the hip. This improves DPS by a further 16% and is amazing for spamming shots at enemies with larger critical spots like Ogres and Shriekers. This strategy is even effective against certain Champions, with Unstoppable Scout Rifle featuring in Echoes’ artifact. Here’s the Dead Man’s Tale god roll you’ll want to craft to get the most out of it in PvE: Barrel: Arrowhead Brake – Magazine: Accurized Rounds – Perk 1: Outlaw – Perk 2: Dark-Forged Trigger – Stock: Hand-Laid Stock – Before you can craft Dead Man’s Tale, you’ll need to first unlock the weapon’s pattern. This can be acquired by completing Presage when it is featured in the Exotic Mission Rotator. You can expect Presage to be next featured on September 17 and remain in rotation until the following weekly reset on September 24. To acquire its catalyst, you’ll also need to complete at least one run of Presage on Expert difficulty. This can be a somewhat tricky mission as it has a timer, so it’s recommended to complete it with a full fireteam. However, experienced players should be able to solo the activity with practice.

Destiny 2 Exotic’s hidden effect lets Titans “dominate” end-game content – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic’s hidden effect lets Titans “dominate” end-game content DexertoThough Destiny 2’s meta may not favor Titans right now, a new Exotic combo has been discovered that was made to clear end-game content like GMs. You don’t need Consecration to make a meta Titan build, with Hazardous Propulsion offering a powerful alternative. The Titan Exotic’s unique perk – Danger Close – fires Kinetic Exodus rockets after you land precision hits or final blows, with these then damage boosting other rockets. Destiny 2 expert Aztecross revealed how lethal this perk can be, with his testing showing that Danger Close’s Kinetic Exodus rockets deal up to 173,700 damage against Shayotet Partisan, better known as Carl. That’s comparable to a fully charged Honed Edge shot with Izanagi’s Burden. While that’s impressive enough, it’s Hazardous Propulsion’s secondary effect that makes it such a hidden gem. Danger Close’s damage boost provided to “other rockets” isn’t just limited to Rocket Launchers, but also rocket-adjacent weapons like Rocket-Assisted Sidearms, Grand Overture, and Quicksilver Storm. This damage buff lasts 10 seconds and varies between 10% and 35% depending on how many Kinetic Exodus rockets hit their mark. Aztecross described this as a “fantastic damage buff,” explaining how it outclasses other powerful buffs like Radiant and Lumina, meaning that “Titans can dominate the endgame without Consecration.” Given that Hazardous Propulsion requires Precision Hits and Precision Final Blows to build stacks, it makes the most sense to use Rocket-Assisted Sidearms. These powerful special weapons favor Precision Damage anyway, so building damage stacks is just an additional bonus that requires no extra effort. While Indebted Kindness and The Call both work well with Hazardous Propulsion, Buried Bloodline is what lets the Titan Exotic truly excel. The Exotic weapon, which is received as a rare drop from Warlord’s Ruin, is coded as a Rocket-Assisted Sidearm, meaning it receives the full damage boost provided by Danger Close. This is incredible as Buried Bloodline is already a top-tier Exotic thanks to its ability to heal, grant the Devour buff, and even weaken enemies, increasing how much damage is dealt to enemies by a further 15%. With the right setup, it’s possible to weaken a boss with Buried Bloodline, fire Hazardous Propulsion’s rockets, and then follow up with a meta Rocket Launcher of choice for some incredible DPS. This combination is fantastic for bursting down Champions or bosses, giving Titans a competitive alternative to meta-defining options like Still Hunt.

Destiny 2’s Xur will sell “guaranteed” Exotic Class Items for limited time – Dexerto
Destiny 2’s Xur will sell “guaranteed” Exotic Class Items for limited time BungieDestiny 2’s Xur vendor will sell “guaranteed” Exotic Class Items following fan backlash about recent drop changes. Bungie unleashed Destiny 2’s 8.0.5 update on August 6, introducing changes to Exotic class item drop rates that instantly upset the community. These adjustments were a by-product of the team’s response to criticism that the Exotic class item grind in The Final Shape felt more arduous than fun. The 8.0.5 patch compounded fan complaints, enough that the August 15 This Week in Destiny post insists Bungie has “started making improvements to how [Exotic Class Items] can be acquired.” Ideas for new changes remain in “early development,” meaning a resolution won’t launch soon. In the interim, Xur’s shop will receive an update wherein the Wildcard offer makes room for either Exotic Class Items or an Exotic Cipher every week. Meanwhile, the Wildcard’s usual Ritual Engrams, Exotic Ciphers, or Raid Banner offers will be moved to the Strange Offers category. Xur is “guaranteed” to sell Exotic class items during the first week the category’s live, starting August 23. Every week after that, though, players should expect the vendor to “return to his RNG ways.” Bungie’s post further notes Exotic Class Items in Xur’s shop will cost 41 Strange Coins a pop and have random rolls. To get them, players must have already unlocked the regular acquisition path for each character through the Dual Destiny mission. In the event an Exotic Class Item is not on offer, the Destiny 2 vendor will alternatively sell an Exotic Cipher priced at 79 Strange Coins and limited to one per account. Destiny Tracker relayed the news to Destiny 2 players on Twitter/X and the response has been mixed at best. Fans appear especially disgruntled by the notion that Xur will return to cycling things out through RNG after just one week. One user commented, “I’m sorry but no. This isn’t fully it. Yes, putting them with Xur is a FANTASTIC move. But making them rng after 1 week is completely missing the point.” Someone else chimed in to add, “I can’t lie, I’m really not happy with the pace of their responses to this problem.” Meanwhile, others don’t approve of the Dual Destiny requirement, with one Reddit user saying, “I get that you want us to play Dual Destiny. I love the mission too. But there needs to be another way to GUARANTEE a drop. Whether it be Overthrow, the Ghost vendor, or whatever.”

Destiny 2 Exotic class items finally discovered behind Final Shape activity – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Exotic class items finally discovered behind Final Shape activity BungieOne of the most exciting additions to Destiny 2 in The Final Shape was the introduction of Exotic class items. That said, the method for obtaining them was unknown – until now. The process to get the Exotic class items is breaking news at the time of writing, so potential differences in the method are not currently accounted for. In spite of that, we do have a good idea of how to obtain the item now, and the whole process starts with the new Overthrow activity. As first reported by The Game Post, players need to complete three separate runs of Overthrow. This must be done in each marked location on The Pale Heart map: The Landing, The Blooming and The Impasse. After each final boss of the activity, a text prompt appears in the bottom left of the screen saying, “A Secret-Keeper of the Witch Queen is near…” This starts a five-minute timer in which you will need to find and defeat the group of Taken that spawn in the area. Do this after each Overthrow and you should be able to see a solid beam of light in The Refraction area of the map. Head to its source, and there should be two separate objective markers with enemies. Defeat them, and two Subjugators will spawn, one in each area. Defeat both of those, and they should drop one Light and one Darkness orb. Deposit them at Savathun’s Statue (which should be marked when you pick up an orb), and if done correctly, an Exotic mission marker named Dual Destiny should appear. This mission requires two players to pass its mechanics, and you won’t be able to start with less than that. Defeat the mission, and the class item is rewarded. At the time of writing, there are sporadic reports of the item being obtained by players, though others are frustrated that it requires a group and communication to complete.

Destiny 2 “ErgoLOCK” build makes mincemeat of Grandmaster Liminality – Dexerto
Destiny 2 “ErgoLOCK” build makes mincemeat of Grandmaster Liminality BungieDestiny 2‘s weekly reset on July 23 marked the debut of Grandmaster difficulty for Liminality and it’s proven to be a tough nut to crack. Guardians seeking Adept versions of The Slammer – essentially the Stasis equivalent of Falling Guillotine – will have to brave The Final Shape’s only Strike on its hardest difficulty to get their hands on it. Fortunately, the advent of Prismatic has led to substantial power creep, but it speaks volumes that Liminality is still going to require a solid build before taking the plunge. For Warlocks, at least, YouTuber Aztecross released a video on July 23 showcasing a tweaked build that should make life easier for Destiny 2’s resident space wizards. An altered version of Primastic Getaway Artist Warlock, the build centers around one key ingredient: Ergo Sum, or more specifically, one with Riskrunner’s Exotic Perk. As Liminality is packed to bursting with Taken and other enemies that dish out heavy Arc damage, Arc Conductor on Ergo Sum remains active without end during most encounters. Paired with Getaway Artist Exotic gauntlets and the Bleak Watcher Aspect allows Warlocks to generate Stasis and Arc turrets frequently. Combined, all three damage sources are automated. Aztrecross can be seen defeating entire groups of enemies in their showcase without firing a single bullet. For survivability, Feed the Void is the second Aspect recommendation, as both turrets will proc Devour on kills. Per the build’s loadout on Mobalytics, these are the Fragments you’ll want to equip: Facet of Devotion – Facet of Sacrifice – Facet of Ruin – Facet of Hope – Facet of Protection – The caveat? It’s highly recommended to get Ergo Sum’s Catalyst before putting the build together for the improved ammo economy it provides. For that, you’ll need to clear Grandmaster Excision, no small feat in itself. Non-Warlocks looking for ideas on how to build their class should check out our rundown of the best PvE builds for Titans and Hunters.

Destiny 2 Episodes fail to trim the “fodder” that haunted seasons for years – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Episodes fail to trim the “fodder” that haunted seasons for years BungieBungie’s replacement for Destiny 2‘s tired Seasonal model was released on June 11, but Guardians haven’t been convinced that Episodes are anything more than a rebrand. Episode: Echoes picks up directly after the events of The Final Shape, offering two bespoke gameplay activities — Breach Executable and Enigma Protocol — and a vendor, Failsafe, offering various new rewards, including the powerful Timeworn Wayfarer. Sound familiar? The package deal mimics Destiny 2’s Seasonal model closely, but familiarity isn’t inherently bad. Per feedback offered by players on Reddit, core contentions relate to time-gated content and arbitrary legwork — two commonly criticized aspects of Seasons. “I was really hoping with the switch to Episodes we would be done with the fodder,” stated one post, later adding, “Doing brain-dead Public Events and Lost Sectors in spaces you’ve played for a decade before you can progress is a terrible mission model.” With Episodes consisting of multiple Acts intended to unlock at specific intervals (Echoes has three in total), many had assumed each Act would be fully playable on release, instead of being delivered piecemeal weekly. “I wouldn’t even be disappointed if at least Episodes weren’t weekly time-gated exactly the same way as Seasons. And with the exact same lore unlock and voice comms at the end,” opined one response. Others echoed a similar sentiment, responding: “Honestly sick of the weekly story and Holo Projector crap. Would much rather a Warmind, Dark Below-type campaign instead of it being drip-fed for two months.” All these criticisms are based on Echoes’ current progression model, but it’s worth pointing out that two further Acts for the Episode have yet to roll out. Whether these will distance Destiny 2’s new content delivery model from what’s come before remains to be seen.

Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes Exotic mission teased as “literally one of the biggest” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes Exotic mission teased as “literally one of the biggest” BungieDestiny 2’s upcoming dedicated Episode: Echoes Exotic mission has been teased as “literally one of the biggest” to date by Bungie. In an interview with GamesRadar discussing the wider future of the live service title, game director Robbie Stevens elaborated, “We have an Exotic mission coming in Echoes Act Three. It is one of the biggest we’ve ever built, and it’s only possible because of this new content cadence.” As for the mission’s name and rewards, Stevens didn’t divulge any specifics on either front, though did confirm that it, like Episode: Echoes as a whole, has ties to Nessus. Act 1 of Echoes wrapped up on June 25. Instead of launching Guardians straight into the Episode’s middle chapter, Bungie confirmed in June 27’s This Week in Destiny that Act 2 kicks off on July 16, giving players three weeks of breathing room. Reacting to Stevens’ comments on Reddit, one user voiced their hope that Echoes’ Exotic mission won’t follow suit with Dual Destiny’s status as a timed affair. “I swear if the new Exotic mission is another timed mission. I want to enjoy the environments, not stare at a timer the entire time,” they said. “Yeah. We need some proper immersive experience,” another agreed, adding “Don’t mind difficult Dungeon-like encounters like in Avalon as well, as long as they’re not times and haven’t any forced cooperative mechanics that make them inaccessible for any solo play.” Others suggested both playstyles could be accommodated. “I personally think they should put a timer on every Exotic mission for an emblem and bragging rights, and remove all required timers. If you like speedrunning, go for it. If you don’t, be a snail,” they said. Ultimately, Guardians will just have to wait and see what option Bungie decides to go with. Three Exotic missions are currently available in Destiny 2. Two of these – Zero Hour and The Whisper – are static, while the third rotates weekly.

Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes: Release date, activities, weapons, more – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes: Release date, activities, weapons, more BungieDestiny 2 The Final Shape is introducing a brand new system called Episodes that replace the traditional Seasonal system. Here is everything we know about the first Episode of The Final Shape, Echoes. While the Witness was defeated in The Final Shape, the Traveler has changed forever. It is no longer the pure source of Light, as the Witness has imbued it with Darkness. This mix of Light and Darkness caused an explosion that released objects called Echoes into the Solar System. Bungie has announced that Year 7 of Destiny 2 will be divided into three Episodes, each focusing on one Echo. These Episodes will focus on individual stories and even if you skip one, you can start the next without any loss of continuity. The first Episode called Echoes will revolve around the first Echo that has made its way to Nessus. Guardians need to investigate what that is and subdue the dangers arising from this anomaly. Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes: Release date Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes will be released on June 11, 2024, after reset. It will be divided into three parts: Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3. The first Act will be available along with the release of Episode 1. Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes story After the Witness’ defeat, one of the Echoes released from the Traveler dropped into Nesus, causing earthquakes on the planet with an abnormal influx of Vex. Guardians need to join hands with Failsafe and Saint XIV to uncover the origins of this Vex attack. As it happens, a new power is rising and this one has the ability to control not only the Vex but also Saint XIV as well. Additionally, Guardians will also notice that the planet in itself has been transformed and they will get to explore some of the deeper and unknown parts of Nessus. Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes Core Activity Just like Seasons in the past, the first episode of Destiny 2 The Final Shape will also feature an activity called Breach Executable. This is a three-player activity that will have zone control mechanics. However, we will be able to give more insight once the activity officially launches. In either case, make sure to bring your best PvE loadout as the fight will be hard. Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes weapons Here are the weapons you get to farm during Destiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes: Additionally, reprised weapons from Season of the Dawn are also returning. The list of those weapons are as follows: For more on Destiny 2 The Final Shape check out our guide for Warlock and Hunter. Destiny 2 Episode 1 cutscene may have given away new setting for Codename: Frontier – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Episode 1 cutscene may have given away new setting for Codename: Frontier BungieDestiny 2 Episode 1 Echoes was released on June 11, 2024, and right after its release, a new cutscene ended up hinting at a potential future for the franchise. In Episode 1, after Failsafe makes her way to the HELM, you will witness a cutscene in which Saint-14 shares his vision where once The Last City is safe, he wants to leave Earth and travel into the unknown. Saint-14’s goal is to explore the Universe with Osiris, his romantic partner, and this cutscene may have hinted at the future of Destiny 2. If you watched the Destiny 2 mini-showcase on June 10, 2024, Bungie announced that 2025 is Codename: Frontier. The term Frontier when linked with anything in Space points to Interstellar travel or exploration. With that name and what the Episode 1 Echoes cinematic hints at, it’s certainly possible that Guardians will finally be leaving Sol, the solar system the game lives in. Bungie never mentions anything without reason and there are instances in the past that serve as proof. Calus’ association with the Darkness was hinted at long before the Lightfall campaign with the Crown of Sorrow raid, Presage exotic mission, and more. Savathun’s association with Riven and the presence of a 15th wish was also hinted at during Forsaken and was confirmed 4 years later during Season of the Wish. Not only the cutscene could point towards a future direction for the game, but the devs also spoke about a new Navigator armor set during the June 10 showcase. A Navigator is someone who shows the way and it would not be surprising if Guardians use the Dreadnaught to leave Sol. Episode 1 Echoes takes players back to Nessus, though this time, a lot has changed. There are earthquakes in the planetoid, the environment has become much more lively, and the planetary environment has become active. An Echo from the Traveler dropped into the planetoid after The Witness‘ defeat and led to an increase in Vex activity. As such, the Vanguard sent the Guardian, Osiris, and Saint-14 to investigate the matter. Failsafe, the AI from Nessus has also joined the ranks to assist the Vanguard in this mission. Bungie has mentioned multiple times, either through Luke Smith or the developers that Destiny will continue. The small showcase on June 10 showed there is still a lot in store with Episodes in 2024 and Frontier in 2025. The Final Shape has been a massive success, and based on what the developers have said so far, the future seems bright.

Destiny 2 Epic Games Store: Can you play with friends and does content carry over? – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Epic Games Store: Can you play with friends and does content carry over? BungieAre you planning to move over your Destiny 2 content to the Epic Games Store? Here’s what you’ll want to know about what carries over and what doesn’t. Destiny 2 is one of the largest games out there. The online first-person shooter boasts an enormous universe to get lost in and more than that, it’s available across many platforms. In fact on PC, there are even two big storefronts with Steam and the Epic Games Store offering the game. If you’re thinking about going the Epic Games Store route though, there are some things worth knowing. You may be planning to make the switch due to a promotion. The Epic Game Store is offering the Legacy Collection for free, which includes Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen together. If you didn’t own those on Steam or console before, it’s a great excuse to jump over. You may also have another reason to adopt the Epic Games Store version of the game. Maybe you’ve just got a new PC and are making the jump from console, deciding what store to use. Or maybe you’ve simply fallen out with Steam. Whatever the case, here’s what you need to know about the Epic Games Store version of Destiny 2. Do your Guardians and weapons carry over in Destiny 2 on The Epic Games Store? Yes. All your game progress will carry over. This will include all of your Guardians, weapons, and triumphs – there should be no difference in what you’ve earned on one platform to another. The game also offers full crossplay and cross-progression, so you can play with your friends no matter where they are. That’s the same if you’re moving over from console to PC or Steam to the Epic Games Store. Thankfully all of your loot, characters, and progress is kept on Bungie’s side. However, there are key things that won’t carry over with you. What content doesn’t come with you on the Epic Games Store? It’s important to know if you are making the switch over to the Epic Games Store, your licenses won’t carry over with you. This is the access you have to expansions and other DLC. For example, if you own Lightfall on Steam, when you play the Epic Game Store version you won’t have access to Lightfall content. Similarly, if you owned Lightfall on Steam, but Beyond Light on the Epic Game Store, on Steam you wouldn’t have access to Beyond Light on the Epic Game Store version of the game. This could create a very annoying situation where you have Destiny installed twice on your PC, and obviously, this is a big game. If you do want to have it all in one place, you may have to buy an expansion again to have it all together. Hopefully, that has helped get your head around what carries over with you if you are planning on jumping onto the Epic Games Store version of the game. Destiny 2 Enhancement Cores: How to get them & what they do – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Enhancement Cores: How to get them & what they do BungieDestiny 2 is full of items and currencies, and Enhancement Cores are one of the more important ones. Here’s how to get them, and what they do. Destiny 2 is in a good place right now in the run-up to Witch Queen, but it’s not the easiest game to get on board with. With plenty of materials to collect, as well as weapons to earn, there’s a lot to learn. Enhancement cores, one of the game’s many currencies, is important for buffing existing gear to hit endgame, and they’re an important part of tailoring your playstyle to your choosing. With that said, it’s not immediately clear how to earn them, and there are a few ways. Here’s how to get Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2, and how to use them. Contents How to get Enhancement Cores There are multiple ways to earn enhancement cores, meaning you should be able to amass a handful in a play session. Vendors Spider and Banshee-44 have enhancement cores available from bounties, while the former will also sell them outright if you have the currency he needs – although the daily number is capped at 5. Activities While not guaranteed, cores can drop from Adept or Hero Nightfall runs, Legend/Master Lost Sectors, and the Empire Hunts on Europa. Items Decrypting engrams can occasionally offer Enhancement Cores, while a consumable called Finest Matterwave increases the chances of one dropping from a boss. Dismantling high-tier gear will drop an Enhancement Core, so long as it’s above tier 4. Ghost Mod Equip the Lesser Core Harvest Ghost mod to increase your chances at a core dropping. Season Pass You’ll earn several Enhancement Cores from just progressing your season pass, so be sure to grind those bounties. Crucible or Gambit Rank If you spend enough time in the Crucible or Gambit, you’ll end up with a few cores for your trouble. What do Enhancement Cores do? Enhancement Cores can be spent, along with Glimmer, to improve the “tier” of your weapons and armor on the way to ‘Masterworking’ them. This means increasing the number of mod slots and allowing players to further customize the way their Guardian plays. The higher your tier, the more mods can be equipped, and you’ll always want to have some Enhancement Cores handy to be able to tweak your build. Destiny 2’s Encore Exotic mission has a secret reward you need to find – Dexerto
Destiny 2’s Encore Exotic mission has a secret reward you need to find BungieDestiny 2 players have discovered a secret reward in Echoes Act 3’s Encore Exotic mission, and you’ll need to jump through some hoops to get it. Arriving with August 27’s weekly reset, Encore sees Guardians venture into the core of Nessus in pursuit of the Conductor. Packed with puzzles and boss encounters, completing the mission’s standard difficulty awards access to Expert difficulty and the Exotic Auto Rifle, Choir of One. You’ll need to complete the tougher variant to unlock Choir of One’s three Refit Catalysts, but there’s something else here too – an exclusive emblem that only 0.1% of Guardians have unlocked, as tracked by Light.gg. How to unlock the Transient Whisperer Emblem To get your hands on the Transient Whisperer Emblem, you need to complete Encore on Expert difficulty within 35 minutes. However, to make the in-game timer appear and be eligible for the cosmetic, you first need to open a secret room at the start of Encore. As soon as you load into Encore, head in a straight line to the cliff’s edge and look for a series of square-shaped rocks below. Continue dropping down the outcrop until you can go no further and then look to your right (while facing away from the cliff). Assuming you’re in the right spot, there’ll be a small opening in the side of the cliff face and a ledge to jump to. Hop over and follow the path inside until you come to a wall adorned with a strange symbol. Here, you’ll need to equip Whisper of the Worm (pulling from Collections works; it doesn’t need to remain equipped) to reveal a secret passage leading to another room. Inside you’ll find a portal which, when entered, will return you to the start of Encore with the 35:00 timer. Complete Encore before it reaches zero to claim the Emblem. Now that you’ve uncovered Encore’s big secret, see what rewards worth farming are up for grabs following the September 10 weekly reset, as well as information on what Bungie has planned for Destiny 2 in 2025.

Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3: Release date, new weapons, Artifact mods, more – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3: Release date, new weapons, Artifact mods, more BungieDestiny 2 Echoes Act 3 will go live soon across all platforms, bringing with it new weapons, Artifact perks, and much more for Guardians to get stuck into. The rollout of The Final Shape saw Bungie adjust Destiny 2’s content release model, doing away with the usual seasonal format to favor the launch of three episodes every year, each split into three acts. Episode 1 began in June 2024, followed by its second act in July. With Echoes Act 3 fast approaching, its imminent debut will deliver the addition of a few new weapons and Artifact mods, as well as an exciting new Exotic Mission and a conclusion to The Final Shape’s first seasonal story. Here’s what players can expect from Echoes Act 3 and when you’ll be able to start playing it. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3 release date The third act of Episode: Echoes will officially kick off on Tuesday, August 27. The new act will begin after the Weekly Reset, so players can get started at 5 PM GMT/10 AM PT/1 PM ET, assuming there are no delays for maintenance. New seasonal weapons Thus far, every act has brought additional weapons into the arsenal. Act 1 added nine to the mix, while Echoes Act 2 introduced another trio of guns. Echoes Act 3 will unleash three more weapons: Speleologist, Chronophage, and the Martyr’s Retribution grenade launcher. Speleologist A Rapid-Fire Solar Machine Gun, the Speleologist will use a more than sizable magazine to fuel combos such as Deconstruct + Killing Tally or Stats for All + Incandescent. Third Column: Heal Clip, Enlightened Action, Stats for All, Deconstruct, Firmly Planted, Slideways, Envious Assassin – Fourth Column: Strategist, Adagio, One for All, Target Lock, Surrounded, Incandescent, Killing Tally – Chronophage This Adaptive Void Trace Rifle is the second Legendary of its kind and Bungie insists it is a “strong one,” which looks likely given its impressive perk pool. Third Column: Strategist, Elemental Capacitor, Shoot to Loot, Pugilist, Auto Loading Holster, Feeding Frenzy, Repulsor Brace – Fourth Column: One for All, High Ground, Fragile Focus, Target Lock, Demolitionist, Desperate Measures, Destabilizing Rounds – Martyr’s Retribution Having originally debuted during Season of Dawn, this fan-favorite Solar Grenade Launcher is back with some of its classic perks. It also includes a few new buildcrafting options, as expected of a reprised weapon. Third Column: Field Prep, Demolitionist, Threat Detector, Heal Clip, Auto-Loading Holster, Envious Assassin – Fourth Column: Kill Clip, Strategist, Adrenaline Junkie, Desperate Measures, Incandescent, Vorpal Weapon – New Artifact perks Echoes Act 3 will shake up existing builds by introducing a handful of Artifact perks to the Hunter’s Journal. The Shock and Awe perk, for example, should boost the destructive power of Arc builds. Here’s every new Artifact mod in Echoes Act 3: Overload Auto Rifle: Uninterrupted fire from your equipped Auto Rifles grants bullets that stun combatants, delaying ability energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions. Additionally, Auto Rifles are always overcharged when this modifier is active. – Authorized Mod: Charged Up: The energy cost of the Charged Up mod is significantly discounted. – Sustained Fire: Continuously damaging combatants with an Auto Rifle grants you damage resistance. – Targeting Autoloader: While you have an Auto Rifle equipped, defeating combatants reloads your equipped weapon and temporarily increases weapon damage. Awards bonus progress when dealing final blows while surrounded. – Shock and Awe: When you have an Arc or Prismatic subclass equipped, Arc final blows while you are amplified summon a burst of lightning that damages and jolts targets. – New Exotic mission & weapon The addition of a new Exotic mission in Echoes Act 3 was teased back in June. Although specific details remain sparse, Bungie’s Robbie Stevens described it as “one of the biggest we’ve ever built,” suggesting an epic quest is on the way. What we do know is that the reward is likely to be Choir of One, a classified Exotic Auto Rifle that was datamined back in June. Both a craftable Void AR and an Exotic Energy Catalyst were spotted in the database, and these remain the only known Exotics not available in the live game. Choir of One will feature Exotic Perks that deal increased precision damage when aiming down sights and cause rapid final blows to trigger an explosion of radiolarian fluid. As for its catalysts, you’ll get to choose between Destabilizing Rounds, Onslaught, and Subsistence, which will all be separate unlocks. Echoes seasonal story conclusion Echoes Act 3 will round off the ongoing narrative surrounding the Vex, The Conductor, and Saint-14. It will pick up directly where Act 2 ended, revealing The Conductor’s true identity, Maya Sundaresh. She explained that she used the Echo of Command to take control of the Vex while attempting to awaken Nessus. Her end goal is to spread radiolaria across the system to create a Golden Age. Naturally, it’s up to you to stop her, which will be the focus of Echoes Act 3.

Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3 Machine Gun is a Solar build’s best friend – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3 Machine Gun is a Solar build’s best friend BungieThe third Act of Destiny 2’s Echoes goes live on August 27, bringing three more weapons for Guardians to chase God rolls for. One of these, Speleologist, is a Machine Gun with access to terrific PvE perk combos, and it promises to be a must-have for Solar builds. As with other Vex-themed armaments, random-roll and Red Border Speleologists will be obtainable from Echoes activities when the update goes live. Best Speleologist roll for PvE Barrel: Arrowhead Brake – Magazine: Tactical Mag or Flared Magwell – Perk 1: Stats for all or Envious Assassin – Perk 2: Incandescent or Killing Tally – Masterwork: Reload Speed – As with most Machine Guns, Reload Speed is the primary stat you’ll want to optimize for Speleologist. Without perks, its reload time clocks in at almost five seconds, which is very slow by Destiny standards. Tactical Mag and Flared Magwell boost this, with the latter providing a superior +15 to the stat on top of +5 Stability. Alternatively, Tactical Mag gives the same Stability boost but five less Reload Speed, the trade-off being an additional seven rounds in the magazine. Killing Tally is best used if you’re aiming to build into monster-sized magazines, while Incandescent is going to be the default option for any Solar builds for the obvious synergy it provides. Likewise, Reload Speed is the obligatory Masterwork choice, though as a Rapid Fire Frame, Stability is another viable option. Joining Speleologist in the loot pool on August 27 will be Chronology, a Void Trace Rifle with access to Destabilizing Rounds, and Martyr’s Retribution, a reprised Wave Frame Grenade Launcher from Season of Dawn. The latter is guaranteed to be a PvE mainstay thanks to its healing properties and we’ve already covered the roll you should be on the hunt for. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2: Release date, story, new weapons, more – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2: Release date, story, new weapons, more BungieThe second act of Destiny 2’s Echoes episode will be released very soon. Here’s what we know about the new update, including the release date, story, and what new weapons are being added to the mix. Destiny 2 is finally about to receive an update to its Echoes episode with Act 2. The new form of seasonal structure revealed by Bungie means we get three episodes each year, with each of them containing separate acts to have the story progress in a more meaningful manner over time. Now the first episode titled Echoes will be receiving its second Act, showcasing to players what the developers have in mind for these mini-updates. Looking to get more info on what’s coming? We’ve got you covered. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 release date Destiny 2’s second Act for Echoes releases on July 16th, 2024. The devs are yet to share an exact time on when this update will be released, but the scheduled maintenance is expected to end at 12 PM PDT. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 story The story of Echoes is set to get a bit darker from here on out. With Saint-14 being mind-controlled and his terrifying existential crisis, the mysterious “Conductor” will definitely play a larger part in the story. Since this is only the second act of Echoes, it’s likely the plot won’t see its end so soon, but it does mean we’ll get a bit more information as to what’s happening on Nessus. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 new weapons Bungie is releasing three new weapons with the second act of Echoes, one of which is the first of its kind. The first ever Solar Rocket-Assisted Sidearm frame will be arriving in the form of Abberant Action. The Heavy Burst Pulse Rifle archetype is getting a new Arc entry titled Corrasion, and finally, Kinetic Shotgun Perfect Paradox will be making a comeback in the update. Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 battlegrounds It wouldn’t be a new Destiny 2 update without some new big baddies to take on. Act 2 will launch with two new battlegrounds and a third will arrive shortly afterward. The first two launch with the Act itself on July 16, while the final one will be available the week after on July 23.

What is the easiest Dungeon to solo in Destiny 2? – Dexerto
What is the easiest Dungeon to solo in Destiny 2? BungieCompleting a solo dungeon is widely regarded as one of the most impressive feats in Destiny. It takes skill, focus, and an optimized build just to stand a chance. To help you get your first solo completion we’ve put together this list of the easiest dungeons to solo in Destiny 2. Dungeons have become notoriously difficult with Ghost of the Deep’s massive health pools and Warlord’s Ruin’s brutal encounters being two of the best examples of this. They are tough to clear regardless, especially blind, but dungeons are even harder when you go in alone. Solo runs are notoriously difficult and require a top-tier loadout and strategy to overcome. Even so, it’s that very challenge that appeals to the most dedicated Guardians looking to prove a point. Here’s our breakdown of all eight Destiny 2 dungeons ranked from hardest to easiest for solo players to complete. 8. Ghosts of the Deep Expansion: Lightfall – Release Date: May 26, 2023 – Location: New Pacific Arcology, Titan – Introduced in Season 21, Ghosts of the Deep is a grueling dungeon flooded with adds that has multiple bosses with several million health. What makes GotD particularly hard is its bosses also have massive shields that force you to use Arbalest, limiting your loadout greatly. 7. Duality Expansion: The Witch Queen – Release Date: May 27, 2022 – Location: Derelict Leviathan, The Moon – Not only does Duality feature an absurd amount of adds making it fairly overwhelming for a solo player, but it’s also set up in a way that physics-based deaths and being knocked off the map are the norm. This makes Duality extremely frustrating and far from the easiest dungeon to solo in Destiny 2. 6. Warlord’s Ruin Expansion: Lightfall – Release Date: December 1, 2023 – Location: Windswept Crag, European Dead Zone – Though extremely fun to attempt solo, Warlord’s Ruin is a tricky dungeon with two of its bosses having massive health pools and the room for error being minimal. Its final boss, Hefnd’s Vengeance, is especially hard without a team as you’ll need to deal damage, platform, and fight off hordes of enemies to reign victorious. 5. Spire of the Watcher Expansion: The Witch Queen – Release Date: December 9, 2022 – Location: Ares Spire, Mars – Spire of the Watcher isn’t that hard mechanics-wise but this dungeon is long with its bosses having a lot of health and DPS phases taking time to activate. It’s easy to make a small mistake that loses the entire run. Despite its unforgiving bosses preventing Spire from being one of the easiest dungeons to solo in Destiny 2, it’s still worth giving a try for the challenge alone. 4. Prophecy Expansion: Shadowkeep – Release Date: June 9, 2020 – Location: IX Realms – If this was a ranking of the dungeons with the coolest aesthetic there’s no doubt Prophecy would be top. When it comes to difficulty though it is instead a middling dungeon that has become much easier over time thanks to Destiny’s evident powercreep. Even so, you should still be prepared for a challenge and prioritize playing a build with sustain over raw DPS. 3. Grasp of Avarice Expansion: 30th Anniversary Pack – Release Date: December 7, 2021 – Location: Skywatch, Cosmodrome – Grasp of Avarice is one of the easiest dungeons to solo in Destiny 2 and a solid entry point for those trying to get into solo runs. Its mechanics are fairly forgiving and it’s possible to take out all of its bosses in just a few phases even when prioritizing survivability over DPS. Just be aware of the infamous Sparrow section which is known to be a run killer. 2. Pit of Heresy Expansion: Shadowkeep – Release Date: October 29, 2019 – Location: Sorrow’s Harbor, Moon – Two dungeons are highly recommended for solo newcomers to attempt, and Pit of Heresy is one of them. The waves of exploding Thralls can be frustrating, especially on flawless runs but in general Pit of Heresy is a relatively easy dungeon thanks to its straightforward boss fights and low-health enemies. With a bit of practice, you’ll be clearing this legacy dungeon in no time. 1. Shattered Throne Expansion: Forsaken – Release Date: September 25, 2018 – Location: Eleusinia, Ascendant Realm – Shattered Throne is undoubtedly the easiest dungeon to solo in Destiny 2. It does have some tricky platforming sequences but the boss fights are easy enough and its mechanics largely come down to just killing stuff. It’s a simple dungeon and the perfect choice for those looking to get into solo runs with no prior experience. Destiny 2 Dungeons are now locked to Deluxe Editions and players are furious – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Dungeons are now locked to Deluxe Editions and players are furious BungieDestiny 2 Dungeons will soon be locked behind paywalls, Bungie has confirmed, as the popular endgame activities are moving exclusively to premium bundles. The decision has outraged players, who have labeled the move “absolutely terrible”. When it comes to PvE in Destiny 2, Dungeons are among not just the most popular activities, but the most important. These highly polished and extremely difficult challenges, often looked at as bite-sized Raids, offer some of the most significant experiences in all of Destiny. Up until now, so long as you owned the latest expansion, you had access the latest Dungeon. The trend started with The Shattered Throne during Forsaken’s time in the spotlight, then continued with both the Pit of Heresy and Prophecy during Shadowkeep. Moving forward, however, all future Dungeons from The Witch Queen onwards are set to be locked behind new paywalls, Bungie announced on October 19. “We’ve seen some debate around the new Dungeon content and wanted to clarify how it will be delivered next year,” Bungie Community Manager ‘Cozmo23’ addressed on Reddit. Only players who purchase the “Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen will receive two Dungeons,” they confirmed. For players who purchase the Standard Edition, this endgame PvE content is no longer included. Read more: Destiny 2 best PvP weapons – “You can still upgrade to the Deluxe Edition to get the Dungeons later,” Bungie added. Moreover, “separate” payment methods will also be introduced in 2022. These appear to allow players to “purchase the Dungeons” as standalone experiences. Bungie has not disclosed how much a single Dungeon will cost. Naturally, it didn’t take long for the Destiny community to express their anger with the change. After years of Dungeons being available to all, locking it behind new paywalls has been labeled a “gross” tactic. “This is an absolutely terrible way to monetize content,” one player stressed. Not only is it “rough” for veteran players used to buying new Standard Editions each time around, but it’s also a “terrible” change for new Guardians as well, others chimed in. “New Lights are bombarded with so many different editions, deluxe packs, seasons, and anniversary packs. Just trying to understand for a new player how to get all of the content is an absolute mess.” With unanimous disdain for the change, we’ll have to wait and see if Bungie reverts its choice in a future update. We’ll be hearing more on these new paywalls “closer to when the content is set to go live,” Cozmo confirmed, so we will keep you updated with all the latest.

Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon release date and time Destiny 2’s Duality Dungeon will arrive with the daily reset on Friday, May 27 at 10AM PEST / 1 PM EST 6 PM BST/ 7PM CEST (the same time that Xur arrives) on the Derelict Leviathan. You can check out the trailer below: Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon Power Level requirement The Dungeon arrives with two difficulty options; Normal and Master. Normal will require players to hit Power Level 1550, with the Master requirement at 1590. In case you’re wondering, Master adds the Match Game modifier, as well as Barrier and Unstoppable Champions. Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon rewards and loot Here are the Dungeon rewards, thanks to Bungie’s recent blog post: 1 Legendary Armor Set Per Class – 4 Legendary New Weapons – 2 Legendary Reprised Weapons – 1 Exotic Weapon – 1 Exotic Catalyst – 1 Exotic Accessory (Ship or Sparrow) – 2 Legendary Emblems – The Exotic Weapon included is the Heartshadow exotic sword. This Void melee weapon has two traits: Shot in the Dark: Remaining invisible grants this weapon increased damage for a brief duration. Hitting a target with this weapon’s projectiles while Shot in the Dark is active weakens them. – Exhumation: Heavy attacks made with full Sword energy turn you invisible and fire exploding Void projectiles. – According to the Destiny 2 database Light.gg, the catalyst for the weapon will increase movement speed while invisible. As for the Legendary weapons, fans can expect the Lingering Dread Stasis Grenade launcher, New Purpose Stasis Pulse Rifle, Stormchaser Arc Linear Fusion Rifle, and the Unforgiven Void SMG. Artifice Armor explained Artifice Armor is, in many ways, like Adept gear — it’s the same armor but offers additional mod slots. The difference here is that Artifice Armor’s extra slot is solely for Artifact mods, which will let you customize your build even further. We’ve got a full list of Artifact mods here. Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon price As Bungie explains: “[The] best way to get this dungeon, as well as the one coming in Season 19, is to have the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen. If you have that, you are already good to go!” “If you want to experience an entire year of Destiny 2 content and haven’t purchased the Deluxe Edition yet, starting next Tuesday, it’s going to be on sale for 25% off.” Bungie has also released a Dungeon Key in the game’s Eververse store which will set players back 2000 Silver (around $20 or £20). Destiny 2 disables private Crucible match rewards due to exploit concerns – Dexerto
Destiny 2 disables private Crucible match rewards due to exploit concerns BungieBungie has disabled rewards from Destiny 2’s private Crucible matches after players used the discovery of a significant loot farm exploit to earn Legendary gear, Enhancement Prisms, and Red Border Weapons. In a post on the official Bungie Help Twitter/X account, the Destiny developer confirmed that all rewards from Crucible private matches had been disabled for the time being. Initially, they stated this was to address an unspecified “issue,” though it has since come to light that this was targeted at a well-known item exploit. This exploit took advantage of the unintended relationship between Crucible matches and the new Pathfinder system. It was possible to complete Pathfinder objectives in Private Matches, which enabled a highly efficient loot farm. Utilizing specific Ghost mods, Guardians would earn rewards from the Pathfinder, by completing matches, and from Crucible vendor ranks. This method was particularly effective thanks to the additional settings players can utilize in Private Matches. For example, the match duration can be made much shorter, and matches don’t even need multiple players to begin. This meant that many were entering games solo and letting the timer run down to earn a completion. The comments to the announcement were not positive with one player suggesting an alternative approach: “Literally all they had to do for a W was say, ‘We know about this, we are going to patch it…….on Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone’,” before admitting they were baffled at why some bugs get fixed immediately, and others stick around for months. Another disgruntled user added, “Oh come on, you guys let us dig it one of these for a little while. What does it actually hurt? We’re not screwing over your Eververse door; we’re all still playing the game.” At the time of writing, Bungie has provided no further clarity on the issue. How they plan to patch the exploit is also unclear, with no confirmed timeframe for the reinstating of Private Match rewards, though it is assumed that they will return in some capacity.

Destiny 2 director reveals Crucible Labs mode will join core PvP rotation – Dexerto
Destiny 2 director reveals Crucible Labs mode will join core PvP rotation BungieDestiny 2’s director Joe Blackburn has revealed that the Crucible Labs mode Checkmate will be joining the core Crucible playlist. If there’s anything Bungie’s looter shooter is known for is its incredibly satisfying gunplay. Guns in Destiny, whether it’s a hand cannon or a trace rifle all feel fantastic to mess around with. Enemies are also just as enjoyable to slay, with over-the-top kill animations that really add that oomph players yearn for. The same can be said for PvP, where great aim and smart usage of abilities can net you takedowns. However, PvP has had its fair amount of struggles in the past, with Bungie focusing so much on the PvE side of the game, PvP mains felt left behind often going without new content. Now, however, it seems Bungie has new plans for The Crucible, with game director Joe Blackburn explaining the new changes coming in their Game Update video. Destiny 2 brings Checkmate to core Crucible playlist Game Director Joe Blackburn went on camera to speak candidly about the state of Destiny 2 after the announcement of delays for The Final Shape. There Blackburn spoke about several events coming up, the new Into the Light content update, and also gave some information about PvP. The Crucible Labs game mode Checkmate will be joining the Crucible playlist. The mode focuses far more on gunplay, with higher health pools, slower ability charge rates, and limited access to special ammo. The devs are looking to see what aspects of Checkmate work within the core Crucible playlist, with the idea of porting them over into Crucible as a whole. “This is about creating a Crucible that is more strategic, is more focused on your guns, and is more focused on the loadout you’re bringing in to fight with,” Blackburn explained. There’s no telling what these changes may bring to Destiny 2’s PvP sandbox, but with more focus on loadout and aim, it’s sure to appease some of the more diehard Crucible fans.

Destiny 2 director outlines major PVP overhaul on the way in near future – Dexerto
Destiny 2 director outlines major PVP overhaul on the way in near future BungieDestiny 2 director Joe Blackburn has outlined plans for the future of PvP in the looter shooter, with further focus on the mode coming sometime soon. PvP in Destiny 2 has always been a bit of a unique beast. The Crucible has forever stood as a place of confusion in the looter shooter, as developers Bungie have attempted to keep the mode balanced in its ever-changing environment. As such the mode has become somewhat dormant over the years, often being left by the wayside as Bungie looks to create new PvE content for its players instead. PvP mains have felt a tad left out with all the new content, and considering it’s been almost three years since the last PvP map, who can blame them. Destiny 2 director Joe Blackburn is now looking to soothe these issues, however, speaking about new plans that should bring a bit of life back into the mode. In a recent interview with PCGamer, Blackburn spoke about the uncertainty of PvP when they re-joined Bungie in 2020. The director shared they felt uncertain about the mode in the long run, especially since they weren’t sure about their ability to satisfy PvP players. “I’m not so sure about this thing in the long run. We haven’t seen it move the needle. Have we ever been able to satisfy the PvP audience? How do we deliver players what they want?” Blackburn questioned. They expressed how difficult it was to find examples of games that could blend both PvE and PvP together, but the director believed grabbing a gun from anywhere and taking it into PvP was a part of the Destiny experience. However, with the introduction of the PvP strike team joining the fray, Blackburn hopes to deliver more to PvP players, instead of attempting to tend to both. “We don’t want to say: ‘Hey, we’re going to try to make every single person happy’. There are really divisive camps, so the way we want to really change our strategy is to be clear about saying: ‘This is the PvP audience for Destiny, this is what they want’. We’re going to center PvP around our players that enjoy playing Crucible for 20 hours a week. And we’re going to make it more optional for players that don’t,” Blackburn told PCGamer. With a renewed focus on those who love PvP, the director hopes a more targeted audience will take the game mode in the right direction. “I think that if we are clearer with who we are trying to make PvP for, we can make the right decisions for that group and we can build a thing that people enjoy.” The team at Bungie is also open to taking risks when re-building the Crucible, stating that they “aren’t afraid of being wrong here”. “We’re not going to let a fear of being wrong stop us from doing something and trying to really nurture this part of the game.” There’s no telling when exactly this changed focus will see fruition in-game, but it does sound like Blackburn and the team are willing to try whatever until it works.

Destiny 2 director apologizes for August State of the Game blog in personal video – Dexerto
Destiny 2 director apologizes for August State of the Game blog in personal video BungieDestiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn took to Twitter to issue a personal apology video for the controversial State of the Game blog post released in August, giving further insight into the status of the development team today. Destiny 2 has been in a somewhat volatile state recently. The live-service title is leading up to a new season and is still on track for its final expansion of the Light and Dark saga that started back in the first game. Though despite all the exciting things on the way, the player base is not quite content with the way things are going. This was made even worse by the recent State of the Game post made by developer Bungie. The controversial blog post outraged many players who have since called out Bungie for various reasons including missing content and poor communication. Now, the game director of Destiny 2 has come forward in a personal video to apologize for the aforementioned blog post, giving more insight in a video posted to Twitter (X). Joe Blackburn took to the social media site to have a personal talk with the community, particularly mentioning the blog post that went out earlier this month. “A few weeks ago we put out a state-of-the-game communication that wasn’t up to our standards for what you all have come to expect for those kinds of communications. “It didn’t provide the high-level vision that we normally provide, and really and truly a bunch of us were heads down working on The Final Shape and weren’t able to give it the sort of care and love that we normally put into these kinds of communications. “And that’s nobody’s fault but mine on this,” the director explained. Alongside the apology, Blackburn gave us further insight into the upcoming Lightfall showcase, revealed new information about PvP, and also stated that an upcoming armor set would be pulled from the Eververse store and be added to the core playlists to make up for the reduction in armor sets. While the lengthy statement didn’t quite address everyone’s biggest gripes of late, Blackburn assured the upcoming Final Shape showcase will give fans a good reason to be excited again.

Destiny 2 devs urge Guardians to “go have fun” with insane Exotic bug – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs urge Guardians to “go have fun” with insane Exotic bug BungieBungie has allowed Guardians to “go have fun” with unlimited One Thousand Voices ammo thanks to an unintended bug that massively shook up a week-long sword event. Destiny 2 is celebrating one of the game’s weapon archetypes with a week-long event that sees players regenerating ammo. This event allows Guardians to run around with Swords all week long, with no punishment for swinging like crazy in content like strikes, Gambit, and the Crucible. However, an unintentional bug has crept into the event, resulting in the Exotic fusion rifle One Thousand Voices regenerating ammo the same way swords do. And while on paper this doesn’t sound too bad, One Thousand Voices fires a literal explosive laser beam that decimates everything in its path. Though Bungie doesn’t seem too bothered by this, in fact, the devs have encouraged players to abuse the bug telling Guardians to “go have fun” with their newfound levels of power. One Guardian revealed just how powerful unlimited One Thousand Voices ammo is, by showcasing how fast they were able to clear out enemies in a match of Gambit. They were able to eliminate the Primeval in near seconds, making it impossible for the opposing team to keep up. Aside from a potential limit on Gambit, the developers are more than happy to have players run rampant. This isn’t the first time a bug has turned out better for Bungie too, with other crafting issues and exploits being allowed and actually being loved by much of the player base too. The event will run until the weekly reset on September 10, giving players a good amount of time to mess about it if they want. After that time though, the Exotic will return to its normal, more balanced state, so make sure to make use of it while you can.

Destiny 2 devs to revitalize old dungeon with reimagined loot pool – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs to revitalize old dungeon with reimagined loot pool BungieDestiny 2 developers Bungie have shared plans to revitalize the older dungeon Prophecy with a reimagined loot pool. Destiny 2 has a wealth of activities for players to participate in. Whether that be a new 6-man raid, a new dungeon, or even a seasonal activity, there’s always something to do when you log into Bungie’s popular looter shooter. Of course, not all of this content remains relevant for long though, with Bungie constantly introducing new updates to the game that shift the hottest content around. This is all based on what rewards players are looking for, with Bungie generally introducing better rewards as incentives to farm and try the new activities. This results in some older activities becoming more irrelevant over time, as many old rewards get outclassed by the newer ones on offer. However, Bungie is looking to revitalize an older dungeon, arriving with a patch in the near future. Destiny 2 devs revamp Prophecy with new loot pool As announced in a recent TWID, Bungie is looking to revamp Prophecy once more. The dungeon launched with Season of Arrival and offered a bunch of new loot to players. Unfortunately, since that time, the dungeon has remained somewhat dormant aside from players running it for their weekly powerful gear. However, Bungie will be introducing new gear into the dungeon, while cycling out some older rewards. A Swift Verdict, A Long Walk, and The Last Breath will all be removed from the loot pool, with a new Auto Rifle, Pulse Rifle, and Submachine Gun entering the fray. Alongside this, a new Origin Trait will be added to the weapons, giving them even more power than previously. Crossing Over will grant the weapon bonus range and handling on the top half of the magazine while dealing increased damage on the lower half. These changes will go live with Update 7.3.5, so players can look forward to completing Prophecy once more.

Destiny 2 devs tease Clan Perk and Reward overhaul in The Final Shape – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs tease Clan Perk and Reward overhaul in The Final Shape BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have provided new details about a revamp coming to Clans in The Final Shape, with new rewards, bounties, and perks planned for the new expansion. Destiny 2 developers Bungie have announced new details about a revamp coming to Clans in the upcoming expansion of The Final Shape. The revamp will include new clan bounties, rewards, and perks that will massively improve the feature’s quality of life, which many Guardians use to connect. Clans are Destiny 2’s guilds and are player-created organizations that let you create a group far larger than your regular fire team. From there you can chat, earn experience for the group, and much more. However, the system has become pretty stale over the years, despite being a major facet in the online part of Bungie’s shooter. As such, the devs are revitalizing the old with the new and bringing in a bunch of features that should get players more excited to partake in Clans. According to the TWID, Clan Steward Hawthorne will receive their own reputation track, including similar rewards like Enhancement Cores and Ascendant Shards. These can be gained by completing activities, with a bonus for higher difficulty and playing with clan members. Similarly, Clan bounties are also receiving an overhaul with the removal of restrictions on the Nightfall bounty. Alongside this, Guardians will have access to a Seasonal Content bounty and a Dungeon bounty — which will also reward reputation for Hawthorne like the other bounties. Finally, new perks will grant Clan members bonuses like a free weekly exotic engram for the first Clan bounty completed each week, and an Ascendant Alloy upon completion of all Clan challenges for the week.

Destiny 2 devs signal Gambit’s end by making core activity “entirely optional” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs signal Gambit’s end by making core activity “entirely optional” BungieDestiny 2’s unique PvPvE Gambit mode has been rather quiet in recent years and now, Bungie is officially moving the core mode to the side by making it “entirely optional”. When Destiny first hit store shelves in 2014, it did so with two core pillars: PvE and PvP. With Destiny 2, however, that changed with the arrival of a hybrid PvPvE mode known as Gambit. While this innovative concept served as an equal pillar in the early stretch, it soon became somewhat of an afterthought, with players merely jumping into the mode when required for weekly or seasonal rewards and nothing more. With its player base in decline and no sizeable updates on the horizon as devs focus on The Final Shape, Bungie has officially moved Gambit to the side, making the once-core playlist “entirely optional.” “As many of you have noticed, we’ve been quiet on Gambit,” devs acknowledged in a lengthy August State of the Game blog. This silence has been intentional on Bungie’s part as devs confirmed the PvPvE’s player count is “still low” in 2023, to the point where only a few smaller bits of content are still in development. “This is an area of the game with lower engagement that would take resources away from more popular parts of the game to shore up.” As a result, Bungie has no plans to “dedicate resources to significantly transform Gambit” anytime soon. In light of this clarification, devs have now made Gambit “entirely optional”, ensuring players don’t have to jump into the less desirable mode if they don’t want to. From Season 22 on, all weekly challenges can be completed in any ritual of your choice. So unless players are eager to grab a specific piece of Gambit-only gear, including a new Void Machine Gun in the next Season, there’s no requirement to play the PvPvE mode. However, that’s not to say Gambit is being completely forgotten in the months to come. In the year of The Final Shape, devs teased a new port of the Cathedral of Scars map along with Shadow Legion and Lucent Hive enemy types to keep things fresh.

Destiny 2 devs rush to disable Final Shape exploit offering “infinite” enhancement cores – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs rush to disable Final Shape exploit offering “infinite” enhancement cores BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have rushed to disable an exploit in The Final Shape involving the legendary Khvostov, as it was allowing players to farm an “infinite” amount of enhancement cores. The Final Shape has arrived in Destiny 2, bringing a tonne of new content to Bungie’s looter shooter. From a new campaign, new story, new Prismatic subclass, and even a completely new enemy race, Guardians from all over have rushed to hop into the title and begin exploring. Despite a couple of issues with various login queues and error codes, players have been able to fully experience the campaign and the new location of the Traveler. Within the new location, Guardians have discovered the return of the Khvostov, a legendary weapon hailing from all the way back in Destiny 1. However, they also uncovered an insane exploit that allowed them to farm “infinite” amounts of Enhancement Cores with it, leading to the devs promptly disabling the exploit and preventing players from utilizing it. “Due to an issue, we will shortly be disabling the ability to pull the Legendary version of Khvostov from Collections.” the Bungie Help Twitter explained. According to Destiny 2 exploit YouTuber Cheese Forever, Guardians were able to pull a Khvostov from their Collections for only one Enhancement Core, but could then dismantle it for seven, giving them six Enhancement Cores for free. Enhancement Cores are a prime resource in Destiny 2, and Bungie wants to reward players with them for completing activities, so they’ve temporarily disabled this new acquisition method until further notice. This has also put a damper on players who were looking to get the exotic version of the weapon. Bungie has stated that anyone who has already dismantled all copies of the legendary Khvostov weapon will not be able to acquire the exotic until a new fix is implemented. The player base was not too happy about this announcement, as many criticized the devs for selectively choosing what to fix when the Destiny 2 servers were still having some trouble supporting the numerous Guardians logging in.

Destiny 2 devs rush out changes for “frustrating” Breach Executable activity – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs rush out changes for “frustrating” Breach Executable activity BungieDestiny 2 developers have announced they’ll be making changes to the Breach Executable activity in The Final Shape after hearing feedback from players about “certain frustrating elements.” Destiny 2’s first episode has begun after a strong setup thanks to the well-received Final Shape expansion. The inaugural episode sees Guardians return to Nessus once more, reuniting with Failsafe to investigate strange Vex activity on the planet. As per usual, this new story is set to play out in the form of weekly missions, with a narrative that progresses over time. This rollout also includes a replayable activity Guardians can grind for various loot and other rewards, letting players farm for the perfect rolls of the seasonal weapons. However many Guardians have found that the Breach Executable activity has come with a few “frustrating” factors, making it less enjoyable than intended. Bungie has heard the communities’ cries and announced several changes are being rushed out in an update coming next week. “Hey everyone. We’ve heard feedback about certain frustrating elements in Breach Executable, and we have a couple of changes planned for next week’s update to improve the experience,” the Destiny 2 team posted on June 26. Firstly, the devs are removing the Void Threst modifier from the Expert difficulty of Breach Executable, as some enemies were hitting too hard as a result. On top of that, they’re helping Guardians hunt for Planetary Pistons and Radiolite samples by guaranteeing that you’ll always be able to find two Pistons in each run. Piston waypoint ranges have also been increased for easier visibility. Bungie is also increasing the delay before being teleported to join allies in the next encounter, meaning you should have a bit more time to extract samples even if your teammates rush ahead. Extracting Radiolite samples will also become instant, meaning you can get back into battle faster. Finally, the devs also mentioned they’re investigating reports that players are unable to find the specimen NES003 and start the research quest for a seasonal challenge. They’ve announced that this issue will be resolved at the next weekly reset.

Destiny 2 devs reveals Gunsmith focusing coming in Season 23 – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs reveals Gunsmith focusing coming in Season 23 BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have revealed a new Gunsmith weapon-focusing feature coming in Season 23 to help players farm for specific items while Bungie removes them from the world pool. Arguably the most important aspect of Bungie’s Destiny 2 is the plentiful amount of loot on offer. From bows to trace rifles and even LMGs, there are weapons of every variety to mess around with in the game. Add the randomized perks each weapon can roll with means players will spend hours grinding for that perfect drop. Since weapons are so highly sought after in Destiny 2, the devs are constantly adding more and more to entice the community. However, with the game being several years old, the world loot pool has become increasingly big, lowering the chance of finding specific weapons while on your journey. Fortunately, Bungie is looking to take a shot at that come Season 23. The devs are introducing a new feature that aims to ease the pain of not getting the weapon you want. In a recent TWID, the developers detailed that select foundry weapons will become available for focusing from Banshee-44. These weapons will no longer be obtainable from Legendary Engram world drops and can only be gained from Gunsmith Engrams and focusing. Here are the weapons available for focusing from each foundry in Season 23. Suros Cantata-57 – Syncopation-53 – Fugue-55 – Staccato-46 – Pizzicato-22 – Fioritura-59 – Häkke Palmyra-B – Perses-D – Ragnhild-D – Enyo-D – Boudica-C – Lodbrok-C – Veist Krait – Redback-5si – Funnelweb – Lunulata-4b – Taipan-4fr – Jararaca-3sr – Omolon Snorri FR5 – Typhon GL5 – Ogma PR6 – Gallu RR3 – Ammit AR2 – Aurvandil FR6 – All weapons available in Gunsmith focusing will need to be at least 4 seasons old, meaning these weapons are from seasons 16 to 19.

Destiny 2 devs reveal nerfs coming to Still Hunt meta pairing – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs reveal nerfs coming to Still Hunt meta pairing BungieBungie has revealed that the extremely powerful meta pairing of exotic sniper Still Hunt with Celestial Nighthawk will be receiving a damage nerf in an upcoming update. Destiny 2’s The Final Shape saw a bunch of new content and story being added to the game. One big reveal for the expansion was that legendary hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 would return to the franchise once more, somehow being resurrected within the Traveler. Cayde wasn’t meant to stick around for long within the Final Shape, however, as he sacrifices himself to resurrect the Guardian’s ghost. But he did leave behind one of the most powerful exotics the game has ever seen, especially when wielded by a hunter. The exotic Still Hunt has a unique bonus when being used by a hunter with Celestial Nighthawk. As the weapon mimics exactly what Celestial Nighthawk does, combining the three bullets into one powerful shot. However, it seems that this interaction has proven to be a little too powerful, and Bungie has revealed plans to nerf it. Bungie revealed in an 11th July TWID that Still Hunt would be receiving a 25% damage nerf when being paired with Celestial Nighthawk. According to the devs, they’ve been closely monitoring the potency of the exotic, and believe it can be dropped down ever so slightly. “While Hunters have the opportunity for some thematic tie-ins between Celestial Nighthawk, Golden Gun, and Still Hunt, this should help to reduce a bit of damage disparity between each class (and between what should be viable weapon alternatives).” the devs explained. It’s pretty clear that Still Hunt has swiftly become one of the best exotics for Hunters, making the high mobility and damage class up to the standards of Warlock and Titan. In fact, this combo was used by the first player to ever solo The Witness, truly indicating just how strong this new exotic was.

Destiny 2 devs reveal major reticle overhaul coming in Season of the Deep – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs reveal major reticle overhaul coming in Season of the Deep BungieDestiny 2 developer Bungie has announced that major changes are in the works for weapon reticles in the game, including custom reticles for exotics. Bungie’s looter shooter Destiny 2 easily has some of the most satisfying and enjoyable gunplay on offer in the FPS genre. With plenty of weapon archetypes to try, and god rolls to find, it’s no wonder players can get lost in the world of Destiny 2 for hours on end. Whilst also containing a story-driven narrative, Bungie is looking to hone in further on the gunplay of Destiny, announcing that they’re making changes to the game’s reticle system in a recent blog pos. Bungie announced that reticles across the board would be receiving some form of update in the upcoming Season of the Deep, with some exotics even receiving their own custom ones to reflect their exotic status. Weapon reticle retuning changes Bungie explained in their blog post how a reticle in Destiny is used to illustrate two different things, auto-aim, and accuracy. This is shown in-game by the moving circles and crosshairs, these are clamped down in size in order to ensure clarity whilst playing. At a default FOV, these elements change as your auto-aim and accuracy change, but at higher FOVs these can’t shrink enough to make it look dynamic, resulting in a more static reticle. As such Bungie has rebuilt the following weapon-type reticles for Season of the Deep, with plans to add more in future: Fusion Rifle – Hand Cannon – Side Arm – Trace Rifle – Alongside these archetypes, Bungie has adjusted Fusion Rifle and Sword reticles to contain a charge meter on the reticle, so players rely less on the cues provided by the weapon. Aim down sight reticle changes Shayura’s Wrath will be the first weapon in Destiny 2 to receive experimental changes for its aim-down sight reticle. Instead of the regular red dot or crosshair, it will be replaced with a variant of the hip-fire reticle. This means the reticle will react to the weapon’s accuracy and auto-aim and will change color if an enemy is under it. Custom Exotic reticle sight changes Bungie has also noted that several exotics would be receiving custom reticles to help reflect their power. These exotic weapons are receiving the listed changes. Charge meter added to Exotic weapons whose base weapon type doesn’t typically have a charge meter. Devil’s Ruin – Salvation’s Grip – Grand Overture – Perk counter shows pips for perked shots. Quicksilver Storm grenade count. – Ace of Spades Memento Mori shot count. – Lumina Noble Rounds shot count. – Traveler’s Chosen Gathering Light stacks. – Perk progress meter shows perk buildup. The Manticore – Perk active shows when the Exotic perk is active. Hawkmoon – Ager’s Scepter – Tarrabah – Touch of Malice – Cryosthesia 77k – Trinity Ghoul – Charge meter and perk counter. – Vex Mythoclast –

Destiny 2 devs responds to concerns Supers are being scrapped in Witch Queen update – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs responds to concerns Supers are being scrapped in Witch Queen update BungieHaving now revealed The Witch Queen expansion along with a major Void rework on the way to Destiny 2, Bungie has assured classic Supers won’t be removed from the game, in light of recent concerns. As The Witch Queen draws near, so too does the biggest subclass rework we’ve seen in Destiny thus far. Rather than developing an entirely new darkness-based subclass for the upcoming year, Bungie instead revealed plans to overhaul Void. Aptly referred to as Void 3.0, this major undertaking is set to tweak just about everything pertaining to Void. From entirely new abilities, adjustments to fan favorites, and even the removal of certain powers. It’s the latter that raised more than a few eyebrows from concerned Guardians following the reveal event. Though Bungie has since clarified its stance and assured players that popular Supers aren’t going anywhere. “There are no plans right now, for us, for players to lose anything substantial in the conversion,” Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn told Polygon. While some Super abilities have been part of Destiny for seven years, the devs have no desire to scrap them anytime soon. “We want to make sure all of that is there,” he added. “Bungie doesn’t want players to jump into The Witch Queen and “feel like a bunch of stuff got taken away from them.” “It’s really important that when you log in on day one you’re not like ‘Bungie took a bunch away from me,’” Blackburn said. “That is a huge non-goal for us.” It remains to be seen exactly what may be scrapped when the time comes, though Supers appear to be safe. Instead, some minor “melee [abilities] or “passives” that aren’t “exciting” could be lost in the shuffle. Rather than focusing on the negatives of such a monumental shift for the Void subclass – one that will later follow for both Solar and Arc – the devs sought to highlight the positives. Once these changes go through, players should have more options at their fingertips than ever before. “The feeling of the year after The Witch Queen launches is going to be really different from the feeling of any previous year,” General Manager Justin Truman said. “Not just to, like, the meta of the weapons, but to your fundamental abilities. I think it’s going to be a higher bar than we’ve hit any previous year.”

Destiny 2 devs respond to game-breaking Windowed Mode exploit – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs respond to game-breaking Windowed Mode exploit BungieBungie has now responded to a Destiny 2 exploit that allows players to collect infinite power orbs, extend their class abilities, and generally break the game in unintended ways. The trick in question has been around for quite some time, but Bungie has now announced a temporary workaround to avoid it. Bungie has dealt with a wave of different bugs and exploits in Destiny 2, but few are as problematic as this one. Initiated through clever use of minimizing and maximizing your game window, this bug allows players to reproduce orb drops, extend bubble shields, and even deal unlimited damage during certain sections of the Vault of Glass raid. That’s only the start of how this bug was being abused in the game – Destiny 2 content creator JB3 highlighted the problem and its numerous uses in a YouTube video with the hopes of drawing the devs’ attention to it. The plan worked as intended, as Bungie has now addressed the issue and detailed the roadmap for fixing it. Bungie responds to game-breaking Destiny 2 exploit Dmg04, Bungie’s Senior Community Manager, addressed the situation, explaining that the team had been working on a fix for this for a while now: “A group of individuals discovered and reported an issue where players can generate more orbs than intended when triggering some supers. The team has been silently working on a fix for this (currently targeting December)”. Has it been fixed? While the long-term fix may not be arriving until December, the team has implemented an intermediate solution as well. Anyone who minimizes and maximizes their game multiple times in a session will receive the error code RUTABAGA, which will force the game to close. Any player who receives this error has a chance of being penalized for it, with repeat offenders even running the chance of getting banned from the game. Note: If players error out of the game numerous times, they can be met with escalating restrictions. So, aside from recommending you don’t negatively impact the experience of others by reproducing this issue, I also recommend not ruining your own. Happy Sunday, and much love. — dmg04 (@A_dmg04) October 24, 2021 There is still the risk of innocent players being caught in the margins and receiving punishment for something they didn’t know was wrong, but DMG addressed that as well. “These should be limited time PvP restrictions when hitting the error multiple times over a small amount of games, not full account bans.”

Destiny 2 devs respond to fan criticism over “silence” on Gambit mode – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs respond to fan criticism over “silence” on Gambit mode BungieDestiny 2’s Gambit mode will finally see some changes in year 5 following the Witch Queen expansion, as confirmed by a Bungie comment on the game’s subreddit. Destiny 2 is going through a bit of a lull at the moment as players wait for The Witch Queen expansion to arrive alongside Season 16. That’s put a greater emphasis on the three pillars of Destiny playlist activities – Vanguard Strikes, Crucible PvP, and Gambit. As players have noticed, though, one of those modes isn’t quite getting the love of its siblings. Gambit, a mode originally introduced in 2018’s Forsaken expansion, is lacking in reasons to play and meaningful changes since it was merged with Gambit Prime in 2020. Conversely, the Crucible PvP mode Trials of Osiris has been receiving constant tweaks and rebalancing through the Trials Lab – and one fan took to the game’s subreddit to express concern. Bungie promises Destiny 2 Gambit changes following Witch Queen Redditor Darth_Onaga noted that we “need love for Gambit,” saying they’d take “more maps at a bare minimum,” while also floating the idea of unique objectives to help earn motes (Gambit’s currency which is banked during a match). Other players soon chimed in, with many calling for new maps (or even unvaulted ones), while others noted that many of the Gambit weapons available from its vendor, The Drifter, are disappointing rewards. The post soon gained enough traction that Bungie’s community manager, dmg04, soon responded. “Team is looking at Gambit during the year of Witch Queen. Understand the frustration on silence. We’ve made some hints along the way, but have yet to say anything specific,” he said. “Trials and Trials Labs are our first swing at updating support for ritual activities. This isn’t just a testbed for improving Trials, but looking at our internal processes for patchwork and prioritization so we can improve our workflows for future ritual support.” The comment also said that players should “stay tuned,” and that while the Trials of Osiris that Darth_Onaga mentioned are being noted, they’re expected at this point. It’s clear that Witch Queen could represent a huge moment for Destiny 2, but we’ll have to wait and see if everything Bungie has promised will come to pass. Destiny 2 devs respond to anger over Shadebinder nerfs in Beyond Light – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs respond to anger over Shadebinder nerfs in Beyond Light BungieThe balancing of Destiny 2’s new Stasis subclasses has been a point of contention since the release of Beyond Light. Developer Bungie pushed out a hotfix on November 19 that addressed many concerns surrounding Stasis, but changes made to the new Warlock Shadebinder have left some players feeling slighted. The introduction of new content into any game kicks the door wide open for bugs and balancing issues to make themselves known. The latest Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light, is no exception. Bungie’s introduction of the game’s first Darkness-based subclasses resulted in some hilarious bugs. However, other players are not amused with the balancing of Stasis in the Crucible and have called for the developer to make adjustments in PVP. Bungie quickly responded by pushing out Hotfix 3.0.0.3 just 9 days after the launch of Beyond Light. This update included numerous tweaks to the power of Stasis, and while some praised Bungie’s quick reaction, others are saying the nerfs went too far. Players criticize Shadebinder nerfs With the release of patch 3.0.0.3, Bungie provided a detailed list of all updates being made. While some high-level Stasis changes were implemented, the Warlock Shadebinder subclass was targeted with several specific nerfs. After experiencing the updated Shadebinder’s performance first-hand, Redditor u/Cranberry_Jealous questioned Bungie’s nerfs to the Warlock, saying “this doesn’t affect me but I do think they went overboard here.” At the time of writing, this post has received more than 7k upvotes. The post includes a video, credited to u/a_persian, showing off the nerfs firsthand. In the clip, a Guardian jumps into the air and activates their Warlock’s melee ability, sending a Stasis projectile flying at a Fallen Dreg. It coasts through the air for a second, then explodes before reaching the intended target. The player moves closer to the enemy and uses their regular melee to put them down. This functionality appears to be in-line with the nerfs implemented by Bungie. In the recent hotfix, the developer made changes to the Warlock’s Stasis melee ability, including a reduction in projectile speed of 20% and a nerf to the ability’s range from 28m to 16m. Destiny community calls for additional feedback While many appear to be frustrated with the recent changes made by Bungie, other players and Bungie team members have both called for patience and more feedback to help the developer fine-tune Stasis balancing. Destiny 2 Community Manager dmg04 tweeted out reassurance that Bungie was taking player concerns into consideration with the recent nerfs. Warlocks: The values for these changes look high, but our hope is that they bring balance to the subclass. You should still be wrecking shop with these abilities, just takes a bit more planning. Hop in the game, try out the changes, sound off with your feedback. We’re listening. — dmg04 (@A_dmg04) November 19, 2020 Destiny 2 content creator Ms5000Watts also called for patience, and asked players using the new Warlock subclass to provide feedback to Bungie “after you’ve been able to play with them [the new changes] for a while.” Also warlock mains – please do give feedback on how these changes feel after you’ve been able to play with them for a while. If a buff needs to happen then it should happen just as quickly. — Ms5000Watts (@Ms5000Watts) November 19, 2020 Bungie certainly seems aware of the concerns surrounding the recent changes to Stasis, and will be monitoring the community’s feedback closely. Players should look out for any updates from the official Bungie social media accounts regarding future Stasis balancing.

Destiny 2 devs remove Surges from raids and dungeons amidst balance concerns – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs remove Surges from raids and dungeons amidst balance concerns BungieDestiny 2 developers have announced they’ll be removing Surges from raids and dungeons and adjusting tuning so that players will always have them. Destiny 2 developers at Bungie have revealed in a TWID that they’ll be removing Surges from raids and dungeons in an imminent update. They’ll instead be adjusting the tuning and balancing of these encounters so that players always have the power that comes from Surges — making it a net buff across the board. This news comes in response to player concerns after the power changes made to dungeons and raids in The Final Shape. Surges were originally introduced to incentivize players to buildcraft week to week, adding further variety to the endgame activities. However, this change proved to be more of a restriction than a challenge to many Guardians, with players feeling that they were actually limited in their options due to Surges specializing in one subtype. This has resulted in the developers quickly opting to remove them as a whole. “We have decided to remove surges from raids and dungeons, as well as to adjust tuning so that you’ll perform as if you had them across the board,” the June 20th TWID confirmed. This means that regardless of what subtype your weapon is, it’ll deal damage as if it were being affected by a Surge, meaning you’ll have higher damage across the board. In theory, this should mean you’ll struggle less with the more difficult mechanics present in raids like Salvation’s Edge. “This change will make outgoing damage in dungeons higher and reduce the difference in raids compared to before The Final Shape. It does so while removing barriers to buildcrafting.” The devs have stated that this is very much a work in progress and will continue monitoring the feedback players have and making adjustments as they see fit.

Destiny 2 devs reassure Guardians franchise isn’t dead but “just getting started” – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs reassure Guardians franchise isn’t dead but “just getting started” BungieDestiny 2 developers Bungie have reassured fans of the game that the franchise isn’t dead, far from it, as they claim it’s “just getting started” with its 10th anniversary. It’s a turbulent time to be a fan of Destiny 2. Not only were there huge layoffs at Bungie, but this was followed up by reports of scaled-back content, and the cancellation of the spin-off title code-named Payback. And now with news of a mobile title being on the horizon, Guardians are fearing for the future of the series. Through it all, devs been in regular communication with the player base about the sudden changes, and have also launched in-game events to try and upkeep spirit in the community. In a September 5 blog post, they doubled down, arguing the franchise isn’t dead, but in fact, is “just getting started.” They’ve been quick to reassure players that Destiny isn’t going anywhere. The devs shared what plans they have for the franchise, including a “short Dev Insight blog article discussing our goals for the future of Destiny.” Guardians will be guided along this blog by game director Tyson Green and narrative director Alison Lührs. This also coincides with the start of Destiny 2: Codename Frontiers, and Destiny’s 10th anniversary as a franchise, a possible turning point for the franchise as we venture into uncharted territory. However, those steering the ship are assuring players the upcoming blog will just be the start of their “commitment to ongoing communication” with the player base. “This marks the beginning of regular updates from our development team about what’s next for Destiny 2, including details about its systems and future plans,” they outlined. “While the updates may be a bit rough around the edges as they are early in the development process, we’re excited about sharing our goals and progress with you.” Bungie’s main plan going forward is to provide players with smaller, more direct intel dumps that should address the plans for the franchise going forward. “Many thanks to all who’ve joined us over this ten-year journey. We’ve said a few times that we’re just getting started, and… it’s still very much true. The Light and Dark saga may have ended, but the future of Destiny is still unfolding before us.”

Destiny 2 devs pull controversial Starter Pack from Steam store amid backlash – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs pull controversial Starter Pack from Steam store amid backlash BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have pulled the controversial Starter Pack bundle from the Steam store amid a bunch of player backlash. Destiny 2 has just started up Season of the Wish, the final season of content before the release of The Final Shape. So far the season has been pretty decently received, with more difficult seasonal content giving players a fair challenge. Season of the Wish will remain for quite a while as well, as Bungie has announced delays for The Final Shape. While Season of the Wish is going well, players are not too happy with another aspect of content that Bungie released. The Starter Pack was a $15 bundle released on the Steam store that was aimed at easing newer players into the game. The bundle featured 3 exotic weapons, an exotic sparrow, a ghost shell, a ship, and upgrade materials. At the price point, many players took issue with the bundle, claiming that it was borderline pay-to-win content. The player base began to mock the bundle as well, creating tags like “Capitalism”, “Crime” and “Psychological Horror” for it. Bungie has now made a statement about the new bundle and has subsequently removed it from the Steam store. Destiny 2 removes controversial Starter Pack from Steam page “Hey everyone, we launched Season of the Wish yesterday and have been monitoring the conversation around what you’ve been enjoying and what you haven’t. We’ll start things off with the Starter Pack, which is not something bringing joy. Which is why we’ve pulled it from stores.” the post reads. The bundle has been removed from Destiny 2’s Steam page and is now no longer available for purchase. As for those who have already bought the bundle, it’s unsure if Bungie is offering refunds or compensation at this time. The Destiny 2 team also mentioned that they’re reconsidering what should go into the Starter Bundle, believing there are “other parts of Destiny 2 that new players should want to dive into first.”

Destiny 2 devs promise “huge changes” coming in Season 11 and beyond – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs promise “huge changes” coming in Season 11 and beyond BungieBungie has announced plans to take Destiny 2 in a new direction in Season 11 and beyond, after their hugely-popular title copped a hefty helping of backlash from the community due to a series of “lackluster” content drops in 2020 so far. After Bungie’s highly-publicized divorce from publisher Activision in January, the developers have been flying solo on their looter-shooter franchise. Fans expected the split to refresh the struggling franchise. It seems to have done the opposite. There have been a few wins for the devs. Destiny’s competitive playlist Trials of Osiris made its long-awaited return in Season 10. Unfortunately, the response was lukewarm. Some fans have even gone as far as to demand Activision return. Basically, it’s panic stations for Destiny. The game itself has benefited from the decision to take it free-to-play, but overall the mood has soured. Bungie’s switch from expansions to new season passes is at the forefront of community outcry. The ongoing backlash has sparked movement in Bungie’s ranks. Community manager Dylan ‘dmg04’ Gafner promised “huge changes” on the way, while director Luke Smith confirmed a move away from their much-hated “FOMO” strategy. Bungie unveils ‘new direction’ for Destiny in next seasons According to production director Justin Truman, who addressed concerns in a dev blog post earlier this week, Bungie would be “trying something a little different” to win back the host of fans streaming away from the game. “There’s been a growing list of concerns with the game lately — Trials [of Osiris], the rise in PC cheaters, our new Seasonal model, the balance between rewards you earn vs. items you buy. We’ve been closely watching,” he revealed. Another of the game’s community managers, Cozmo, echoed Truman’s sentiment. He added in a Reddit thread Bungie was “well aware” fans were experiencing “a lot of bounty fatigue right now,” and confirmed plans to change that. When could these “huge changes” arrive in Destiny 2? Unfortunately, none of the Bungie voices speaking out have confirmed when these planned changes may ship. There have been some vague dates set, however: “the arrival of Season 12” was mentioned by Smith on Twitter. “[We already have] a lot of good stuff in Destiny,” the franchise director also said. “There is also a long way to go before we have it in a place we are truly proud of. We are going to be talking about next steps in the coming weeks.” https://twitter.com/thislukesmith/status/1253443978948571136?s=20 It’s not a lot to go off — especially without any hard and fast details on what is planned to fix Destiny — but it’s certainly still cause for celebration. For Bungie to break radio silence, they must have realized they had to act, and fast. For now, Guardians will have to make do with the current event playing out in the online FPS series, the “Guardian Games.” These Olympics-like challenges have pitted Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans together in a series of bounty-based trials.

Destiny 2 devs outline Season Pass overhaul with new episodic structure in The Final Shape – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs outline Season Pass overhaul with new episodic structure in The Final Shape BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have outlined some key Season Pass changes set to debut as part of a new episodic structure in The Final Shape. Destiny 2 devs have announced a huge amount of changes coming to the looter shooter in their recent Final Shape showcase for 2023. Alongside a bunch of new information about what The Final Shape’s story may entail, we also learned about the new episodic structure being introduced to the game with the expansion. Instead of the current seasonal model, Destiny 2 will instead break the year into three separate acts, each with three different phases within them. Each act will last 18 weeks in total, with each phase lasting six weeks. These acts will be playable as standalone experiences, meaning Bungie is attempting to relieve the FOMO (fear of missing out) that the seasonal structure often incurred. Because of the episodical structure change, the developers have outlined that a new seasonal pass structure will be introduced to better suit the needs of the game. Destiny 2 introduces changes to battle pass to better suit episodic structure Now, instead of offering a pass for each season, the Destiny 2 Season Pass will instead be offered for each act. To make up for the longer time spent per act, the seasonal pass will have a total of 200 levels, with the first 100 being available in the first phase, the second 50 in the next, and the final 50 in phase three. This increased time has also meant that the team at Bungie was able to implement more content into the Season Pass, including an iconic armor piece to showcase that you were able to complete the entirety of the pass. You can expect that the Season Pass will still come with regular rewards including legendary shards, exotic engrams, and more. For the time being, however, no details on exact pricing have been revealed.

Destiny 2 devs making Root of Nightmares boss more difficult amid Nezarec backlash – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs making Root of Nightmares boss more difficult amid Nezarec backlash BungieDestiny 2’s most recent TWAB revealed Bungie’s plans to make Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares boss Nezarec more difficult after player backlash. Lightfall has definitely been a mixed bag for Destiny 2. The penultimate expansion in the Light and Dark saga has brought plenty of highs and lows with its wealth of content. Whilst the story of Lightfall itself was certainly divisive, players enjoyed the new location in Neomuna and the new Strand subclass. Unfortunately, the Root of Nightmares raid was considered a pretty controversial one at launch, as the difficulty of the raid itself felt off to many players. Root of Nightmares has one of the highest clear rates of all raids despite being on contest mode. Many high-end raiders such as Datto were disappointed with the execution of the raid, yearning for a return to more difficult prestigious content. One of the reasons why Root of Nightmares was so effortlessly cleared was due to the weakness of its final boss Nezarec. Ironically named “The Final God of Pain”, Nezarec was an absolute pushover in the eyes of many Destiny 2 players, with some even making it a challenge to two-man him on contest mode. An issue was found with Nezarec where Guardians could stand in a Well of Radiance, and Nezarec would just stop responding to them. This was deemed a pretty critical bug, as it really reduced the difficulty of the encounter, while also making his DPS phase that much easier. Fortunately, Bungie was made aware of the issue and has been looking for ways to make Nezarec live up to his name. Destiny 2 developer Bungie to make changes to Nezarec’s behavior Bungie has announced in their recent TWAB that they’re discussing changes to Nezarec’s behavior, specifically when facing Guardians in a Well of Radiance. Their TWAB stated that “While it is our philosophy to avoid making dramatic tuning changes to an activity once it is live, we feel it better to address the responsiveness of the boss and accept that it may alter current strategies and increased the level of challenge.” Bungie has yet to announce when these changes will make it to the Root of Nightmares, but it seems that they’re looking to raise the challenge that Nezarec poses in the near future. It’s also likely that we’ll see a shift in strategy from Guardians when facing Nezarec, as it appears Bungie wants to move away from the ‘everyone stand in a Well of Radiance and DPS’ strategy.

Destiny 2 devs make your worst nightmares real with terrifying giant Screeb – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs make your worst nightmares real with terrifying giant Screeb BungieDestiny 2 developers have scared the entire community by showing off what a giant Screeb can look like. and it’s absolutely horrifying. Destiny 2 can be a pretty spooky game, with plenty of strange-looking aliens and monsters to combat, Guardians must put on a brave face to fight back the darkness. Not only are the enemies of humanity creepy, but they often come in massive hordes with variations between each enemy. One type of enemy that is particularly terrifying is the exploders. These enemies tend to run up to you with explosives attached to them, detonating and damaging any unfortunate Guardian caught in the blast. Many enemy factions in Destiny 2 have these enemy types: Exploder Shanks, Cursed Thrall, Harpies, and most recently Screebs. Screebs can easily be considered one of the spookiest on this list. This enemy was added during the Forsaken expansion and is a part of the Scorn, a faction of fallen spawned by darkness-tainted ether. As such, they’re corrupted and defiled, sprinting at Guardians on all 4 legs. Due to their 4 legged-maneuvering, Screebs are usually small in frame, but Bungie has just changed that with a terrifying tweet. Destiny 2 devs show off Screeb at 5x its normal size The Destiny 2 team decided to treat the entire community to some nightmare fuel, showing off a Screeb at five times its normal size. For some reason, at five times their regular size, Screebs no longer scramble about on all fours, instead, their front legs seem to wriggle out like chicken wings. The upsizing has also affected their legs, with them no longer scrambling and instead strangely hobbling forward at a breakneck pace. No one is quite certain what Bungie was cooking up with when deciding to make a Screeb massive, but it could be hinting that Bungie is experimenting with enemies in fascinating new ways. The Destiny community will just have to wait and see what’s to come, but hopefully it’s not something quite as terrifying as this.

Destiny 2 devs “looking at” Glimmer drop rates after community outcry – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs “looking at” Glimmer drop rates after community outcry BungieEconomy changes in The Final Shape have left some Destiny 2 players short on Glimmer and Bungie has now confirmed they are actively reviewing Glimmer drop rates in response to this. While The Final Shape added a lot of new content including a variety of powerful Exotic Weapons and the Salvation’s Edge raid, it also removed some features such as the ability to convert Legendary Shards into Glimmer. This change made earning Glimmer much more time-consuming. In past expansions, Guardians would visit Rahool in The Tower and trade in Legendary Shards, but they are now required to farm activities to earn Glimmer instead. Bungie has now responded to the Glimmer shortage on X/Twitter, confirming that the “Team is currently looking at Glimmer drop rates. Once we have more information, we’ll let you know.” However, the Destiny 2 developer also clarified that there are “No plans at this time,” meaning any significant changes won’t be released until a later Act or Episode. Though this response is vague, it does at least confirm that Bungie is reviewing a crucial part of Destiny 2’s economy. It is still unknown what these changes will look like, but they will almost certainly make earning Glimmer easier. Bungie’s response follows complaints that Destiny 2 had entered a “great Glimmer depression,” as expressed by a highly upvoted Reddit thread in late June. The thread insisted that the looter shooter’s most scarce resource is Glimmer. This led to other Guardians agreeing with one upvoted response including, “I don’t think running one activity just for Glimmer should be a thing. Make it rain glimmer for everything.” Other players agreed that Glimmer is too rare in The Final Shape, commenting, “I don’t understand why you can’t sell an ascendant shard for glimmer,” while another user admitted, “I’ve had to put the max glimmer mod on my Ghost just to get by.” Currently, Destiny 2 players can earn up to 500,000 Glimmer before they reach a hard cap. This cap was doubled back in February 2024 from an initial 250,000, which could be easily reached in a world where most players had thousands of Legendary Shards to burn through. However, it is now much more difficult to reach the Glimmer cap, as even the most efficient methods require hours of grinding. In contrast, spending Glimmer is extremely easy, with it costing 20,000 Glimmer for a single Iron Banner weapon, and 25,000 for one Nightfall weapon. Other significant Glimmer sinks include crafting, weapon leveling, and purchasing Raid Banners.

Destiny 2 devs reveal why they were forced to revert player accounts – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs reveal why they were forced to revert player accounts BungieFor the second time in two weeks, Destiny 2 players have had their currency wiped after a bug with the title’s weekly reset. Now, Bungie has revealed exactly why they were forced to pull the server plug, and revert player accounts. In the early hours of Tuesday, February 11, Bungie developers pushed Hotfix 2.7.1.1, and with it, the release of Valentine’s Day event Crimson Days. Within the hour, players were reporting glitched currencies, loot pools, and more. The reports were the same as two weeks ago, when Bungie was forced to eventually trip the server switch and pull the looter shooter down momentarily. This time around, they didn’t wait. Destiny disappeared for nearly six hours. Now, Destiny is back online, and it appears as if currency for all players who were affected during the 90 minute period have had their accounts restored, but considering this is the second time it has happened in two weeks, players wanted answers. Was their gear safe, or would every reset potentially spell doom? According to Bungie, who addressed the downtime and a potential third glitch event in a developer blog post soon after bringing the servers back online, they appear to have nipped the “rogue” problem in the bud, permanently this time. Due to the rollback: 💠 Any progress or purchase made between 8:30-10:30 AM PST will need to be redone 💠 Silver spent during that time will be restored 💠 Platform store-purchased Silver bundles will not be affected by the rollback 💠 Fractaline will be returned to inventories https://t.co/Rq4SVfPNJX— Bungie Help (@BungieHelp) February 12, 2020 Apparently, the issue stemmed from repetitive server stress, and the high amount of players that would pour back into the MMORPG every reset. The surge would often overload servers, but Bungie would just re-load them without problem. This time, however, the devs accidentally loaded the database, known as the WorldServers, without the fix they had loaded to fight the currency corruption two weeks ago. When they revived the downed servers, they brought back the bug. “Our investigation uncovered what we thought was an impossible situation: a small number of our WorldServers had loaded without the correct configuration which fixed the issues from 2.7.1 [two weeks ago],” the devs explained. “Unfortunately, anyone whose characters had been accessed using one of these out-of-date servers encountered the character-corrupting problem.” Basically, Bungie had accidentally re-fired the currency-destroying bug back into their game’s code ecosystem. Luckily, the devs knew how to combat, and have learned their lesson. This time, they promised, it was gone for good. “We have identified a number of safeguards that should prevent this particular issue from happening again in the future,” they said. “We are investigating ways to speed up rollback, and add more protection around account clean-up code.” Bungie also added that it had added protocols that meant the game couldn’t load without “unexpected” versions, and solved the WorldServers start-up crashes. They also added a “permanent fix” for character corruption, to launch next patch. Finally, the devs apologized for the “frustrating” rollbacks, and conceded it was an issue they “should have been able to avoid.” “We’re sorry for the frustration this caused and will work to prevent these kinds of things from happening again.” For now, it looks like the issues may have been solved, but keep your eyes peeled for any other currency-munching bugs that may raise their ugly heads over the next little while—the loot-draining glitch has returned once, it could again. With everyone’s currency back where it rightfully belongs too, Destiny players are now turning their attention back to the annual Valentine’s Day celebrations, Crimson Days. The event is expected to run until February 18.

Destiny 2 devs forced to disable game-breaking weapon perk – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs forced to disable game-breaking weapon perk BungieDestiny 2 devs have announced they’re disabling all weapons with the Cascade Point perk thanks to a problem with the perk remaining active indefinitely. Destiny 2 fans have been spoiled thanks to the release of Into the Light. The update brought with it plenty of new content to help keep players occupied while awaiting the release of the next expansion, The Final Shape. However, since the patch rolled out, players have uncovered a bug with the Cascade Point weapon perk which practically breaks the game. The Cascade Point perk boosts a weapon’s fire rate when a player gets a successful kill or lands a precision hit. Usually, the duration of the buff is 2.5 seconds. However, since the new update, a bug has emerged which allows players to keep the perk on, permanently. The issue occurs when players activate Cascade Point on a weapon which allows them to select perks. If they switch to another perk, and then back to Cascade Point, the damage buff from the perk remains active after its timer has expired. Essentially allowing players to keep the perk on their weapon until it runs out of ammo. Of course, it didn’t take players long to start using the exploit to their advantage. And footage of the bug in action soon emerged on YouTube. Destiny 2 developers, Bungie, were swift to act on the issue. Announcing on Twitter/X they’d be disabling all weapons with the Cascade Point perk until they get to the bottom of the issue. For now, players with a weapon that would normally offer the perk will receive a popup to let them know the perk has been disabled.

Destiny 2 devs finally address PVP complaints with new content roadmap – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs finally address PVP complaints with new content roadmap BungieIt’s no secret PVP has been more of a secondary focus for Destiny 2 of late, but Bungie has addressed the state of its competitive offerings, outlining new content on the way to keep things fresh for the most dedicated players. At its core, Destiny 2 has a few distinct pillars. There’s the PVE side of the equation, with story missions, seasonal activities, Dungeons, and Raids aplenty. Then there’s the PVP side, with everything from casual modes to Iron Banner and Trials. We won’t mention the oft-overlooked PVPVE pillar for now. While recent expansions and seasonal launches have bolstered the PVE slate time and time again, PVP has remained somewhat stagnant in recent periods. Naturally, those who lean more toward the competitive side have had a fair bit to say. Now addressing the state of PVP head-on in a colossal August 3 ‘Stage of the Game’ blog post, devs have explained why new offerings have been few and far between, while also setting the table for what’s to come down the road. Bungie explains how new Destiny 2 PVP content comes with a major “tradeoff” First up, Bungie acknowledged the vocal player base, assuring they’re aware of calls for “more maps, fewer cheaters, and an ever-evolving meta that feels good to compete in.” As it’s been well over a year since the last PVP battleground arrived, albeit a re-skin of an earlier Destiny map at that, “the most frequent feedback is that there is just not enough new PVP content,” devs admitted. Explaining why new maps, in particular, are a big commitment, they then outlined why there’s been such a drought. “To set expectations, our studio structure is built to support more overarching updates to PvP like the ones above, rather than focusing exclusively on maps. “When we do focus our resources on building new Crucible maps, it comes with the tradeoff of multiple teams’ bandwidth on work that contributes to a variety of experiences that players also hold dear, such as new story or Exotic mission content, core activities that make up the foundation of each Season, or new destinations.” Put simply, allocating devs to PVP content comes directly at the expense of PVE content, Bungie claimed. New PVP content on the horizon for Destiny 2 Despite the resources required to get new PVP content out the door, Bungie assured there is indeed some new additions for avid players to look forward to, including, you guessed it, a new map. Below is a condensed look at everything outlined for the future of Destiny 2’s PVP component: Season 22: New 6v6 map – Multiplex – New 6v6 mode – Relic – Checkmate modifier arriving for multiple PVP modes – Matchmaking improvements for Control & Iron Banner – – Season 23: New Iron Banner mode – New Häkke Aggressive Frame Strand Pulse Rifle – Re-release of The Citadel PVP map – – So that’s what fans can expect on the PVP side as Destiny 2 gears up for The Final Shape next year. Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted here as any further details emerge in the coming weeks.

Destiny 2 devs explain why Savathun and the Hive won’t be our allies any time soon – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs explain why Savathun and the Hive won’t be our allies any time soon BungieBungie has revealed why Guardians shouldn’t get their hopes up about a Hive alliance in the near future. This article will contain spoilers for the end of Season of the Deep so beware! Over the past two years, Bungie has been readying the world of Destiny 2 for the arrival of the Final Shape. With such a daunting foe on our horizon, in the form of the Witness, the story of Destiny has been about shoring up alliances. Thus far, we’ve seen factions of the Eliksni and the Cabal, as well as the Awoken, join arms with the Vanguard in resistance against Destiny’s big bad. As of yet though, there are a couple of holdouts on the alliance front from other alien races. The Vex are a total self-serving artificial time species set on wiping out all life in the galaxy. I wouldn’t hold your breath there. The Taken is also a subjugated force that doesn’t have free will and serves Xivu Arath. The Scorn have also thrown their lot in with The Witness, also being more of a hive mind. However, there are legitimate questions about if an alliance with The Hive could be possible. As of late, the Hive has not had the best time. They’ve recently discovered their religious doctrine, the Sword Logic, was a lie to be manipulated by The Witness. Also, Xivu Arath, the leader of the bloodthirsty aliens, has seen several losses. However, the happenings in Season of the Deep’s conclusion have opened the door to some collaboration with Hive. According to Bungie though, I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Could Guardians and the Hive be allies? Spoilers for Season of the Deep below! The Season of the Deep concluded with Ahsa, a psychic space whale, revealing that in order to continue the pursuit of the Witness, Savathun would need to be resurrected. Savathun’s body has been in the possession of the Vanguard since the end of The Witch Queen. However, she hates the Witness, and was also gifted the Light by the Traveler willingly. So, perhaps there is common ground between us, the Witch Queen and her Light-wielding Lucent Brood. Well, don’t hold your breath too much. In an interview with Dexerto in a roundtable, senior narrative designer Robert Brookes spoke about the chance. He said: “The Hive has still committed a lot of, you know, genocide.” “It’s gonna be really hard to walk that back from anyone’s perspective. Even if that ever became a possibility, there’s a lot of ground to cover to make amends for that.” “Even when you look at someone like Savathun, who has the Light and ostensibly should be our ally, it’s really hard to look past the billion years of bad that they’ve done.” It seems cooperation between the Hive and the Vanguard is going to be tough to broker. However, it does appear the the team at Bungie is thinking about that relationship. It will be fascinating to see how Savathun is implemented next season and how that uneven alliance shakes out.

Destiny 2 devs explain how next two seasons will lead into The Final Shape expansion – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs explain how next two seasons will lead into The Final Shape expansion BungieBungie’s story team has said that Season 22 and Season 23 will lead directly into The Final Shape’s story. While Destiny 2 Lightfall‘s story was criticized, Season of the Deep housed key revelations about where players are headed. Lightfall wobbled, but we now have a much better idea of what The Veil is, who the Witness is, and have key clues as to the nature of The Final Shape expansion. However, with two seasons between now and then, there’s a lot of story to set up. Especially in terms of how we get to where we are now, to entering the Traveller and finding Cayde-6 again. In a recent roundtable interview with Dexerto, the team behind Destiny 2’s story spoke about using the seasonal structure to fill out Lightfall’s story. Senior Narrative Designer Robert Brookes spoke, explaining that this year’s seasons are much more intentionally linked than in previously. He said: “The interconnection between annual releases and seasons is kind of a chain link. This year’s is different in that, normally, we ramp up to an expansion and then we start new stuff with the seasons that come after it.” Brookes went on to talk about the structure of the Destiny 2 seasons more intently. He describes the first two seasons of the year as being about post-Lightfall. Now, the two upcoming seasons are about pre-The Final Shape. He said: “With this one, Defiance and Deep are kind of like the fallout from Lightfall. There’s a lot of, narrative threads that were like left in very intentionally unresolved to dig into and expand upon and feel the impact of. Then from 22 and 23 onwards, it’s the ramp-up and leads in the dive into The Final Shape.” Season of the Deep Spoilers ahead! Season of the Deep has left Guardians in a very interesting position moving forward. For those that have finished the season, you know that the return of the Witch Queen Savathun is imminent. This very much sets us up to go into The Final Shape as Savathun will undoubtedly have a key role going forward. She was instrumental in stopping the first Collapse when the Witness arrived on Earth. It seems very likely she’ll have a key understanding of the Final Shape, how to gain access to the Traveler, and the nature of what lies ahead for the Guardians. We also should know more about The Final Shape when Season 22 launches, as it will immediately follow the upcoming Bungie Showcase on August 22. During that presentation, we should learn a lot about the next expansion. Hopefully, it can build excitement as Destiny enters the end of its decade-long saga.

Destiny 2 devs disable Hawkmoon in PvP after game-breaking exploit – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs disable Hawkmoon in PvP after game-breaking exploit BungieHawkmoon has been one of the most used guns in Destiny 2 PvP modes for a long time, but Bungie has now confirmed that the gun has been temporarily disabled due to an unintended exploit. Hawkmoon is an Exotic 140 RPM Hand Cannon that has proved immensely popular in any mode that features PvP. As well as having a very impressive time to kill, its unique perk Paracausal Shot singlehandedly makes it one of the best weapons in the Crucible. It was an exploit related to the Exotic perk Paracausal Shot has led to this sudden ban. The perk is supposed to work as follows: “Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.” However, PvP players were using the Kinetic Holster leg mod to reload the weapon, which was possible by using their Ghost rather than stowing the Hand Cannon as intended. After 1 second, the final round of the magazine is reloaded, without the Paracausal Shot buff being removed, allowing for endless damage-boosted shots. The potential for this overtaking PvP is obvious, and some players had already reported getting one-tapped repeatedly by Hawkmoon users, likely using this unintended interaction. This exploit would have been particularly problematic come June 28, when the next Trials of Osiris weekend is set to begin. This news comes only a day after Bungie also confirmed that Private Crucible match rewards had been disabled after players were using short solo lobbies to farm gear like Enhancement Prisms and even Red Border weapons. There is no word yet from Bungie on when Hawkmoon will be reinstated, with the gun remaining disabled for use in PvP at the time of writing. However, this exploit can still be used in PvE, though it won’t be as impactful.

Destiny 2 devs cut back communication after harassment from players – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs cut back communication after harassment from players BungieBungie has issued a response to the Destiny 2 community explaining that recent threats towards the devs, amongst other things, will see a huge reduction in feedback going forward. In the modern age of social media, it’s become easier for players and fans to interact with their favorite game companies and developers. This comes with several positives as it allows the team behind a game to receive praise for their hard work, and also capitalize on constructive criticism to help improve a game’s overall experience. On the flip side, social media has also had a hugely negative bearing on gaming with unhappy players venting their frustration. This has been a frequent occurrence for Bungie’s devs as of late and they’ve let the Destiny 2 community know where they stand. Bungie won’t tolerate “real threats” regarding Destiny 2 Destiny 2 has had a successful run with multiple expansions already in the bag and Lightfall and The Final Shape still to come. Season of the Haunted introduced new content and shook up the game like the many seasons that came before it, but a couple of issues have cropped up as of late. The PvP meta has purportedly been in need of balancing, leading to the Destiny 2 community showing no patience for the devs. Dylan Gafner, Bungie’s Senior Community Manager, eventually responded. Things didn’t stop there though as a Destiny 2 streamer went overboard by threatening to “burn down” Bungie’s studio in Seattle and the company duly responded with a lawsuit. Since all this has gone down, the mental toll has clearly taken it out of the devs who have stopped responding to posts on the game’s official Reddit forum – something that Gafner would frequently do to communicate feedback with the playerbase. On July 27, 2022, a thread was posted called “I miss seeing so many “Bungie Replied” threads here” and the user said: “I know why there aren’t as many, but it still sucks. I hope they’re still checking out the subreddit daily and logging feedback in the background.” One reply to the post clearly didn’t understand the magnitude of the situation and it garnered close to 2,000 downvotes, leading to Gafner clarifying some details. “Here’s the thing, the harassment we’ve spoken about isn’t just rude replies on Twitter or vague comments. There have been real threats towards our people and our studio. We’re taking them seriously, which is leading to an amount of reduced communications as the team plans future protections/strategies to help avoid these sorts of things,” Gafner said. He goes on to say that Bungie has given him time off due to harassment towards himself and his family and also commented that some of Destiny 2’s issues can take months to rectify and aren’t a quick fix. He concludes: “I agree – it’s a bummer that we don’t have as much interaction here as of late. The team is planning ways in which to communicate with you all – some of these plans I’m really looking forward to when I get back in. I can assure you that many on the team are checking out threads each day and talking about your feedback.” Hopefully, Gafner’s words resonate with the Destiny 2 community and some semblance of normality can return so that communications can resume between the devs and the players ahead of Season 18.

Destiny 2 devs crack down with new bans for hardware exploits – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs crack down with new bans for hardware exploits BungieDestiny 2 developer Bungie has announced that they’re implementing new rules for anyone found using macro inputs, which will result in their account being restricted or even banned. The developers of Destiny 2 take cheating very seriously; they’ve filed several lawsuits in the past against cheat makers and are adamant about keeping Destiny 2 safe for all Guardians. This includes banning peripherals and hardware cheats that players might use to gain an unfair advantage in whatever content they pick. Whether it be PvP or PvE, Bungie wants to make sure players aren’t using any form of cheats to let them grab better gear, deal more damage, or perform in ways unintended by the devs. Now, the devs are taking a stand against the use of input macros, third-party tools that can mimic playing the game even when you’re not at your desk. The official Destiny 2 account has come forward on Reddit to explain that they’ve revised their Restriction and Ban Policy, which now includes punishments for anyone using input macros to automate gameplay. “Players detected using automation to circumvent idle detection or perform automated activities to earn loot may be restricted or banned. Loot includes, but is not limited to, XP, materials, or drops (e.g. Exotic class items).” It’s worth noting that these changes have only been implemented, so players using these tools before will not be retroactively punished. However, anyone caught after this change will not be so lucky. Bungie also indicated that they were aware that these tools are also used by players with accessibility needs. As such, they’ve added a final note to reassure that players who are using these tools for non-nefarious reasons will not be punished. “As a final note, accessibility in games is important to us. As we continue to look at opportunities within Destiny 2 to expand upon accessibility options, we want to ensure players who are using macros for the purpose of accessibility will not be actioned upon.”

Destiny 2 devs confirm Ritual Pathfinder to replace certain bounties in The Final Shape – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs confirm Ritual Pathfinder to replace certain bounties in The Final Shape BungieBungie has published a statement confirming that Vanguard, Crucible and Gambit bounty tracks are going away when The Final Shape launches for Destiny 2 on June 10. In their place, the Ritual Pathfinder reward path will provide a new system of progression. The developer released the following announcement on social media: “In The Final Shape, we’re introducing the Ritual Pathfinder, a new rewards path that will replace Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties and their weekly vendor challenge. While the Pathfinder will replace bounties at these vendors, they will remain unchanged at other vendors. “We’ll have more info to share on the Pathfinder in the next couple of weeks. We wanted to give a heads-up so everyone preparing for The Final Shape can prioritize how they spend their time. Any Ritual bounties held when The Final Shape releases on June 4 will be abandoned.” The statement has led to two major concerns from the community. The first relates to earning Bright Dust, the non-premium currency used to purchase some items in the Eververse Store. The three bounties that are going away are an important source of the currency, and players are worried about their potential earning power in The Final Shape. The other, less pressing, concern is from those looking to stack bounties before the expansion releases. As the bounty tracks are going away, it will no longer be possible to hoard XP by playing those activities. In recent weeks, there has been significant conversation around the game’s systems heading into The Final Shape. The question of evolution versus revolution is at the forefront of the debate around Destiny 2, and these developments have only served to stoke those flames. What exactly the new progression track will look like is currently unclear. Bungie has promised more information in the coming weeks.

Destiny 2 devs confirm reprisal of fan favorite rocket launcher in Season 23 pass – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs confirm reprisal of fan favorite rocket launcher in Season 23 pass BungieDestiny 2 developers Bunige have confirmed the return of fan-favorite exotic rocket launcher The Dragon’s Breath in Season 23’s seasonal pass. If there’s one thing Destiny 2 is about, it’s the insanely satisfying gunplay the game offers. Blasting through enemies with all forms of weaponry has never felt so enjoyable before. And of course, Bungie offers players heaps of weapon archetypes like SMGs, Trace Rifles, and Glaives so everyone meets their match. Despite all these weapon archetypes, exotic weapons still triumph as some of the coolest mass tools of destruction within Destiny 2. These rarer exotic weapons often require players to be lucky or complete a quest to pick them up, but they offer exotic perks that really make them shine above their legendary brothers. One way players can grab exotics however is by participating in the season pass. Bungie normally places one of the seasonal exotics within the season pass, as an incentive for players to either purchase or grind the levels to grab it. Season 23 is no different, and sees the return of a fan-favorite exotic rocket launcher. Destiny 2 devs have confirmed in a recent TWID that The Dragon’s Breath will be returning in Season of the Wish. Like its Destiny 1 counterpart, Dragon’s Breath will apply a burning effect to enemies hit by it and will also eject incendiary fuel into pools around the target. As per usual the exotic will also return with a completable catalyst from Banshee-44, which will likely involve completing seasonal and ritual activities. The catalyst helps fuel the Dragon’s Breath faster and also spawns Firesprites when you defeat enemies with the weapon. Whether or not this new exotic rocket launcher will be able to take down heavy hitters like Gjallarhorn is yet to be seen, but it definitely has the Destiny 2 community keen.

Destiny 2 devs confirm Prismatic Hunter PvP nerfs are on the way – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs confirm Prismatic Hunter PvP nerfs are on the way BungieThe arrival of the Prismatic subclass has irreparably altered Destiny 2‘s PvP scene. Prismatic Hunter, in particular, has been the greatest beneficiary, but upcoming nerfs could be set to rebalance the class in The Crucible. As detailed in its This Week In Destiny blog post on July 25, there are two major changes set to roll out with the 8.0.5 update. These have been specifically designed not to affect how the class and subclass perform in PvE content, where Bungie feels its balancing efforts have been more successful. Centered on Threaded Specter and Swarm Grenade (which have both become extremely popular in Prismatic builds), the changes have included nerfs to both damage and tracking. Prismatic Hunter changes (August 2024) The preview for the patch changes are as follows: “In 8.0.5, we’re changing two Prismatic Hunter abilities to address community feedback about Prismatic Hunter performance in the Crucible. The goal of these changes is to reduce frustration around playing against Prismatic Hunters without negatively affecting their performance in PvE content.” Threaded Specter Reduced aim-assist strength on Threaded Specter by ~50% vs. players and added a short delay before the aim-assist takes effect. – Reduced Threaded Specter detonation damage vs. players by ~45%. – – Swarm Grenade Reduced the distance that Swarm Grenade submunition projectiles can travel once they begin tracking a target by ~20%. – – Though the changes are likely not significant enough to put people off playing the subclass entirely, it should level the playing field somewhat. That said, there are still a ton of extremely powerful tools in the Prismatic Hunter‘s arsenal that are significantly better for PvP than what other classes have available to them. Specifically, Smoke Bombs remain untouched and, used in conjunction with Swarm Grenades, they are likely to remain an incredibly potent combo. It’s difficult to find a parallel for zone control in the other classes (without branching into Supers), and Trials of Osiris will still feature a lot of Prismatic Hunters.

Destiny 2 devs commemorate historic crafting exploit with free rewards – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs commemorate historic crafting exploit with free rewards BungieDestiny 2 developers at Bungie have announced they’ll be handing out a free emblem to help commemorate the infamous crafting exploit that happened earlier this year. It’s been quite a year for Bungie’s looter shooter Destiny 2, one that’s been filled with highs and lows of tremendous size. As we hurtle our way toward The Final Shape, the player base is preparing for the final fight and conclusion of the Light and Dark saga that started a decade ago. Arguably one of the most iconic incidents to occur throughout the year was the crafting exploit that plagued Season of the Witch. The exploit let players combine perks of weapons that shouldn’t be allowed together, resulting in some whacky hijinks. Rather than a quick fix, Bungie decided to let the community run wild with the exploit, a decision that players applauded. Now a bit later down the track, Bungie is commemorating this iconic bug with a free reward for players who were involved. Destiny 2 devs commemorate ‘The Craftening’ exploit with emblem Bungie has revealed in a recent TWID that they’d be awarding players with a new emblem to commemorate what they labeled as “The Craftening”. The developers applauded the player’s creativity and politeness throughout the ordeal, which let them work hard on their end to fix the issues as soon as possible. The team wanted to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime event in the most Bungie way possible. In order to grab this brand-new emblem, players will need to have logged in sometime during the affected period. This was between September 15 at 9 AM PDT and September 21 at 10 AM PDT. Everyone who logged in during that time period will receive the emblem as soon as it’s ready to go in Season 23. Unfortunately, if you weren’t actively playing during this period it may mean that you’ll miss out on this flashy new emblem, as the devs are yet to specify other means of obtaining it.

Destiny 2 devs break silence on future of the franchise following layoffs – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs break silence on future of the franchise following layoffs BungieDestiny 2 developers Bungie have come forward on social media to address plans for the future of the franchise, following a series of mass layoffs. Bungie’s beloved shooter Destiny 2 is in a pivotal spot at the moment. With the launch of The Final Shape, many were reminded why they loved the game so much and were so keen to see what the developers had planned next for the franchise. We even went so far as to call it “the best expansion ever made” in our review. Despite acclaim for the newest content drop, Bungie announced that they would be laying off 220 employees, roughly 17% of the studio’s staff. This, alongside following leaks that the content drops in Destiny 2 would be severely downgraded left players concerned and quick to give up on the franchise as a whole. Now, remaining devs have come forward on X (formerly Twitter) to address concerns about Destiny 2’s longevity and address the future of the franchise. “We know that recent changes at Bungie have created uncertainty surrounding the future of Destiny.” the devs stated. “Rest assured we remain committed to Destiny, to supporting our community with transparency, and to delivering regular updates about the game.” The devs went on to say that they have plans to speak about the future of Destiny and will soon showcase ideas for their “next multi-year journey soon”. The 8 August TWID echoed this sentiment, with the devs adding they “remain dedicated to supporting [their] community with transparency and delivering regular updates about the game.” Bungie also mentioned that all of their previous game content plans remain unchanged in wake of the workforce reduction. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for Guardians around the globe as Bungie balances both the future of Destiny and its new Marathon title with a smaller team.

Destiny 2 devs backflip on Into The Light weapon changes amid player backlash – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs backflip on Into The Light weapon changes amid player backlash BungieThe Destiny 2 developers have double-backed on their initial rollout idea for the Into The Light weapons due to severe player backlash, now releasing more weapons per week. The Destiny 2 community lashed out at developers Bungie for the proposed drip-feed method of Into The Light weapons. While six of the 12 weapons would be available on launch, it would take six more weeks after the fact for the full collection to become available, with the devs dropping one new gun per week. Due to the severe level of backlash from the community, the devs have announced that they’ll be addressing the feedback by increasing the amount of weapons per week. Now instead of ending on May 21st as originally planned, all weapons will be available by April 30th. Alongside this, Bungie has announced other changes coming to Into The Light including a questline from Arcite which will guarantee a curated limited-edition variant of each weapon. This should guarantee that you’ll be able to grab the weapons even if you don’t have much time to play. The devs have also confirmed that the weapon drop rate for Into The Light will be among the highest in Destiny’s history, akin to back in Season of Opulence. Players will be able to attune to a specific weapon, which will greatly increase the chances of it dropping from Onslaught chests. Finally, a weapon chest in the Hall of Champions can be used to get more Arsenal weapons via Trophies of Bravery, which will drop game-wide across multiple activities.

Destiny 2 devs assure The Final Shape won’t be the game’s ultimate conclusion – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs assure The Final Shape won’t be the game’s ultimate conclusion BungieBungie has once again reassured Guardians the Destiny 2 universe isn’t being left behind after The Final Shape takes form. Quite the opposite, in fact, as developers have doubled down on their commitment to the game’s future after the Light and Darkness Saga. For the better part of the last decade, Destiny has been building to an epic culmination of what’s been coined its Light and Darkness Saga. From the very beginning of Destiny 1 through to the current day in Destiny 2, everything has revolved around this central narrative. A few years prior, when Bungie unveiled the next few years of its timeline in MCU-esque fashion, at the very end of it all was an expansion called The Final Shape. Back then, it meant very little. But now, with Lightfall behind us and this conclusive chapter coming into focus, many have been concerned of Destiny 2’s future. What happens after The Final Shape? Is the end of the Light and Darkness Saga the end of Destiny? These questions and more have been on the tip of Guardian’s tongues for years and now, we finally have a definitive answer. Destiny 2 is set to live on well into the future. “Destiny 2 will continue after The Final Shape and the three Episodes announced today,” the dev team clarified once and for all shortly after the August 22 showcase. Despite having addressed the rumors of Destiny’s conclusion years ago, even prior to Lightfall’s release, it’s still been a hot topic of late. Now, fans can rest easy knowing Bungie is absolutely committed to its hit live-service FPS and that the end of the Light and Darkness Saga won’t mark the end of the franchise as a whole. “Over the past five years, we’ve been driving toward the culmination of the Light & Darkness Saga. It’s a crucial moment in the Destiny universe, but far from the last big story we have to tell. “The Destiny 2 team is deeply committed to this world and this community, and it’s an exciting time as we look beyond the story of the Light & Darkness Saga to where we go from here.” Exactly what the future beyond this Saga holds, we’ll just have to wait and see. But once we’ve dealt with The Witness and The Final Shape is behind us, devs confirmed we’ll hear more in 2024. Further discussing the future of the franchise during The Final Shape showcase, devs outlined how the Destiny 2 team hasn’t dwindled whatsoever while new projects like Marathon have started up. Rather, Bungie has only continued to expand, hiring for all different projects while maintaining its Destiny 2 workforce. “When we start up new projects, we’re deliberate on who moves over and who stays behind. Expanding while maintaining the work we already have,” General Manager Dan McAuliffe said. With the ultimate goal to “keep moving Destiny forward.”

Destiny 2 devs accidentally reveal iconic D1 exotic Ice Breaker is returning – Dexerto
Destiny 2 devs accidentally reveal iconic D1 exotic Ice Breaker is returning BungieDestiny 2 developers Bungie made a bit of an oopsie by accidentally revealing their plans to bring back the iconic Destiny 1 sniper rifle exotic, Icebreaker. Bungie is celebrating Destiny’s 10th Anniversary with a wealth of various events in and out of the game. This has included a ton of new information regarding the future of the franchise, what the devs have planned, and how they’re “just getting started”. On top of that, they’ve released free armor for players that you can pick up right now. The 10th Anniversary also saw another iconic weapon take shape in Nerf form. Now alongside the Gjallarhorn, the Ace of Spades has been immortalized in a more tangible form. Players who were able to unlock the new limited-time Legend Title before Episode: Echoes ends will get the opportunity to purchase it early, with the offer including a special in-game ornament. But Ace of Spades isn’t the only iconic exotic weapon being highlighted in the 10th Anniversary event, as it seems Destiny 2 may have accidentally revealed that Icebreaker will be making a return to the looter shooter. Showcased in the key art, it’s clear that the prominently featured Guardian is holding the weapon, which any Destiny 1 veteran would instantly recognize. The Ice Breaker was an exotic sniper rifle in Destiny 1 that had self-replenishing ammunition, had a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine, and also caused slain enemies to explode. Destiny 2 had a similar weapon in the form of the Revoker, a legendary sniper that could return ammo if you missed a shot. But the real deal will be making a return to the game, as part of the 10th Anniversary celebration. Global community lead dmg04 has also revealed that the sniper will be a reward from the new dungeon, likely being the rare exotic drop for completing it.

Destiny 2 developers shut down leaked exotic armor changes for Season 23 – Dexerto
Destiny 2 developers shut down leaked exotic armor changes for Season 23 BungieDestiny 2 developers at Bungie have shut down exotic armor change details that were leaked online ahead of the Season 23 update. Destiny 2 is in the midst of the Season of the Witch. Soon enough, we’ll be welcoming in new content in the form of Season 23. With each changing season, developers Bungie are looking to modify and refit several pre-existing exotics, subclasses, and weapons so that they better suit the current Destiny 2 sandbox. As new exotics are continuously introduced with each expansion, Bungie is constantly in a juggling act of trying to ensure older ones stay relevant so that players can buildcraft. This generally comes in the form of updates to their armor capabilities and in some cases complete reworks to their exotic perks. Some exotic armor changes for Season 23 were seemingly revealed by Bungie a little early, causing much speculation in the player base. However, it appears these changes may not be what the community originally thought they were. Destiny 2 devs address leaked exotic armor changes for Season 23 The Destiny 2 team has come forward on Reddit to debunk the leaked changes. The team began by clarifying that the leaks are not the full extent of what the developers have planned for Season 23. The preview that only showcased Hunter was a small part of the larger tweaks coming to all classes in the coming season. Bungie did also point out that, while some exotics have had their descriptions updated, they will remain functionally the same as we head into Season 23. The exotics with no confirmed changes are: Shards of Galanor – St0mp-EE5 – Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves – Celestial Nighthawk – Synthoceps – Karnstein Armlets – With several of these exotics being confirmed for no changes, there’s no telling what Bungie has in mind for Season 23. Unfortunately, this might mean that Destiny 2 players will have to wait it out to see what the devs have in store.

Destiny 2 developer Bungie admits they “missed the mark” on new Lightfall features – Dexerto
Destiny 2 developer Bungie admits they “missed the mark” on new Lightfall features BungieDestiny 2’s developer Bungie admitted in a recent blog post that they believe they “missed the mark” on certain player systems introduced with the launch of Lightfall. Lightfall marked a historic update in the franchise of Destiny 2, bringing about revamps to several older outdated systems alongside the main campaign content. Systems such as armor and modifications have seen several quality-of-life improvements in recent times, bringing them more in line with the current state of Destiny 2, but that’s not all. Lightfall also saw the introduction of many newer systems, some aimed at showcasing player progression and player engagement. Guardian Ranks were released at the start of Lightfall’s launch, for instance, revamping the previous level system to showcase a Guardian’s progression in a more defined manner. Players are given objectives to complete that can slowly increase their Guardian rank, giving them incentives to pursue, as well as a direction for newer fans to look toward. Unfortunately, this system proved to be quite a challenge for Bungie, as some of the requirements for progressing to higher tiers were deemed too grindy or difficult to complete. As such the community birthed the “forever six” meme, demonstrating how players were stuck at the rank for a decent chunk of time. Bungie admits to ‘missing the mark’ on Guardian Rank progression After reviewing the data post-Lightfall launch, Bungie has now admitted that they “missed the mark” on their goals for the system, and are looking to improve it moving forward. Bungie has stated that they’re looking to redefine the goals for seasonal resets, claiming they don’t want players to redo the basics after their ranks are reset each season. Therefore, they’re looking to build in some shortcuts to speed players up and get them completing the new seasonal requirements sooner. Alongside this, Bungie wants Guardian Ranks to be a cue for players to understand what they have completed, (ie a raid etc). In order to do so, at the start of a Season player’s rank will reflect the highest rank they earned last season, and will then be replaced once the player hits higher than their previous rank. These changes come in combination with the reduction of requirements for increasing Guardian Ranks in general, resulting in an easier, less grindy experience for those looking to rank up in the higher tiers. New Commendation type being added in Season of the Deep Commendations are also being looked at by Bungie after the frustrations players have had with the system. This system allowed players to commend one another at the end of an activity, but due to commendations being tied to Guardian Rank progression, players found the system more frustrating than fun. Bungie has lowered the required commendations for ranking up in player’s Guardian Ranks and will also be adding in a new Commendation type called “Best Dressed” come Season 21. Commendation counts will be reset each season in order to reflect the newer content, however, a player’s commendation score and breakdown will be tracked, with players only losing out on a percentage.

Destiny 2 dev reveals massive PVP changes: Rift, new maps, Trials of Osiris revamp, more BungieAhead of the Destiny 2 Showcase on August 24, Assistant Game Director, Joe Blackburn, revealed some huge changes are in the works for PVP, including new and vaulted maps, Rift potentially returning to Crucible, and more. On August 4, the dev dropped a huge Twitter thread, full of PVP details Destiny fans will surely salivate over. He wasted no time in spilling juicy details and quickly announced that the team has been hard at work to improve Crucible in 2021, and they’re not stopping there – the Trials of Osiris is getting a rework. “Next season, you’ll continue to see this effort with not only changes to 3-peaking but also what the team has been planning for the revamp of Trials of Osiris,” Blackburn revealed, confirming that more information on this will be shown during the August 24 showcase. Next season, you’ll continue to see this effort with not only changes to 3-peaking but also what the team has been planning for the revamp of Trials of Osiris (tune in 8/24 for more info). — Joe Blackburn (@joegoroth) August 4, 2021 He then said something that is music to every Guardian’s ears: new modes and maps will be a regular thing. “If you play pvp, the team wants you to understand that you will be getting new maps and modes every year, and that the cadence of those coming out feels predictable,” he explained. Speaking of maps, two vaulted Destiny 2 ones will be returning in Season 16 once they’ve been optimized with the engine updates, and Season 17 will bring an entirely new map with it too. Read More: When is crossplay coming to Destiny 2? – Then, in Season 18, a remaster of a Destiny 1 map is set to make an appearance. It’s hard not to wish for more completely new maps, but hey, we’ll take what we can get. Finally, after those 3 maps are added to the rotation in 16 and 17, we will be remastering a Destiny 1 map and bringing it to Destiny 2 for the first time in season 18. — Joe Blackburn (@joegoroth) August 4, 2021 In what is probably the most exciting thing of all, Blackburn announced that Rift may be returning to Crucible if it’s compatible with D2’s sandbox. If you played D1, you’ll know just how fun it was, and it’s something fans have been wanting to see come back for years: “It’s been too long since we’ve dunked on some guardians.” Finally, he revealed that new modes are on the way in 2022, though he won’t be sharing what those are just yet. “We’re excited to offer new twists and rules to the ways you can make shaxx proud,” he said. Destiny 2 dev reveals Lance Reddick’s last recorded voice lines as Zavala are now in-game – Dexerto
Destiny 2 dev reveals Lance Reddick’s last recorded voice lines as Zavala are now in-game BungieA Destiny 2 developer has revealed that the recently added Zavala voice lines were the last bits of dialogue they ever recorded with Lance Reddick. Destiny 2 is nearing the end of its Light and Dark saga. With the release of Lightfall, we’re now only waiting for The Final Shape to conclude the lengthy plotline. The Final Shape will mark the ending of an era for Destiny, starting all the way back in the original release in 2014. The final expansion will involve many characters that players have come to know and care for over the years. One character whom Destiny players have universally adored is the Titan Vanguard Zavala, who has helmed many an operation for The Last City. Unfortunately with the passing of beloved voice actor Lance Reddick, the community has been left uncertain as to whether or not we would hear Lance’s voice in the expansion. While that still remains a mystery for now, a senior narrative designer at Bungie just revealed that recent dialogue for this week’s seasonal mission included the last lines they had recorded with Lance before his passing. Destiny 2 developer reveals recent Zavala dialogue last recorded with Lance Reddick “Sobering moment listening to the final radio conversation in the HELM today. Pretty sure these were the last lines I ever recorded with Lance.” the tweet reads. It is not yet certain if these are the last we may hear of Lance in-game, however, as the developer confirmed that they don’t record lines in chronological order. Furthermore, this is also just a single developer. There’s always a chance Lance recorded various bits of content with others from Bungie along the way. This particular developer replied when asked for clarification if these were the last lines Lance ever recorded. “Possibly both? Unsure. But I’m pretty sure the session we recorded, this radio was the last one with Lance. That said we don’t record content in chronological order, so there may still be something? But what I said is what I said, it was the last lines I ever recorded with Lance.” he responded. This clarification means that we may not have heard all of the lines recorded by the late voice actor, with Zavala still remaining a pivotal character within the game. We’re sure to hear more from Bungie in the coming months as we draw near to the Final Shape

Destiny 2 dev leading non-gaming projects has left before any got off the ground – Dexerto
Destiny 2 dev leading non-gaming projects has left before any got off the ground BungieDestiny 2’s lead developer on non-gaming projects Derick Tsai has reportedly left the company, without any of these projects actually getting off of the ground. Destiny 2 has arguably some of the most expansive lore and world-building of any game out there. Bungie has spent an extensive amount of time building up the game’s characters, locations, and history to enrich the universe that the guardians inhabit and defend against the darkness. Bungie has even gone so far as to hire someone to become a loremaster of the universe, documenting what goes on within the game. With the grandiose storytelling Bungie has within Destiny 2, players have wondered when will the universe transcend beyond the game itself, and reach out to other mediums like film, television, and more. Whilst it’s definitely possible we see a new form of storytelling from Bungie in the future, it appears that it might not be coming anytime soon, as the lead of non-gaming projects Derek Tsai has left the company, as first spotted by The Game Post. Tsai reportedly left the company before any of their non-gaming projects got off the ground. Lead of transmedia Derick Tsai leaves Bungie Tsai’s Twitter bio was changed to working previously at Bungie, with his role there being, “Senior Development Executive and Head of Destiny Universe Transmedia at Bungie.” According to his LinkedIn profile description, Tsai “helped develop ideas to “expand Destiny into linear mediums (Animation, Film & TV, Books, Comics) and drive long-term engagement with new and existing fans” whilst at Bungie. As for just what Tsai helped move along during his time at the studio, any further adaptations outside of the gaming realm are yet to surface. For all we know, certain projects could be right around the corner, or perhaps nothing was created whatsoever. It’s not certain if we’ll see any form of non-gaming content for Destiny 2 in the near future, but at least players will still have the game to tie them over.

Destiny 2 dev defends weapon “sunrising” amidst player controversy – Dexerto
Destiny 2 dev defends weapon “sunrising” amidst player controversy BungieDestiny 2’s senior game designer Josh Kulinski has defended Bungie’s decision to remove the power cap on legacy weapons, stating they “believe this is the right move for the success of Destiny.” A developer on Destiny 2 has come forward on Twitter to defend the studio’s decision to remove the power cap on legacy weapons. Coining the term “sunrising,” the devs originally had sunset these weapons by placing a cap, which would hopefully incentivize players to try new weapons and shake up the sandbox. However, that is changing in The Final Shape, with the announcement sparking controversy from the player base. While some were grateful that the change would mean older retired weapons could be used once more, others were frustrated and saddened as they had already dismantled their gear. Now, senior game designer Josh Kulinski has responded to the player base on Twitter by clarifying their decision. Kulinski explained that to make the best game possible, the team had to make pivots from their original plan. Originally, sunset weapons were not supposed to ever make a return, with the devs assuring players they would be able to dismantle the gear. The dev continued by stating that the ability to play with others was key to the identity of Destiny 2 and that these power changes have made it easier than ever before. Kulinski also reminded players that they would be trying their best to bring back some fan-favorite weapons, in a similar vein to the Brave Arsenal in Into The Light. Kulinski went on to express understanding of player frustration with the changes, explaining that these were not something that the team foresaw. However, they believe that this is the right decision for the looter shooter as a new era is entered. “These aren’t things we foresaw, but we believe this is the right move for the success of Destiny in 2024 and beyond.”

Destiny 2 Desperate Measures: New weapon perk explained – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Desperate Measures: New weapon perk explained Desperate Measures is a new perk in Destiny 2 that looks to shake up the meta once again. Here’s everything you need to know about it including what it does and what weapons can roll it. The Into The Light update has added a new perk for players to farm on their weapons, Desperate Measures. Destiny 2’s meta is largely decided by what perks are best so the introduction of a new one is an exciting time. Some of the perks added in Lightfall are top-tier like Controlled Burst and Slice while others have added little value. This has everyone wondering if the new weapon perk is any good or another trait to avoid at all costs. Here is what you need to know about the effects of the new trait and which weapons it is available on. What does Desperate Measures perk do in Destiny 2? Desperate Measures is a damage perk that grants stacking bonus damage each time you get a weapon, melee, or grenade final blow. The damage buff provided by melee and grenade final blows is greater than weapon final blows. Unlike Golden Tricorn, Desperate Measures does not require matching elements to trigger it effectively making the new perk a less potent alternative that is easier to activate. Desperate Measures’ uptime also differs from Golden Tricorn with the new perk’s buffs lasting slightly longer. What weapons can roll Desperate Measures perk? Desperate Measure exclusively rolls on the Brave Arsenal weapons added in the Into The Light update. However, not all of these new weapons can get the perk with these being all of the Brave Arsenal weapons that can roll Desperate Measures: Blast Furnace (Kinetic Pulse Rifle) – Elsie’s Rifle (Kinetic Pulse Rifle) – Falling Guillotine (Void Sword) – Forbearance (Arc Grenade Launcher) – Hammerhead (Void LMG) – Hung Jury SR4 (KInetic Scout Rifle) – Luna’s Howl (Solar Hand Cannon) – Midnight Coup (Kinetic Hand Cannon) – The Recluse (Void SMG) – Desperate Measures does not roll on Edge Transit, Succession, or The Mountaintop making these the only three Brave Arsenal weapons that can’t utilize the new perk. That’s everything you need to know about the Desperate Measures weapon perk in Destiny 2. We’ll keep this page updated when the trait is buffed or nerfed in the future.

Destiny 2 Deep Dives secret has players begging for a ping system – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Deep Dives secret has players begging for a ping system BungieThe new Deep Dives playlist in Destiny 2 is frustrating players, pushing them to ask for a ping system due to difficulties getting teammates to complete the Toland Orb secret. As part of the Season of the Deep update, Destiny 2 introduced a range of seasonal activities for players to complete. Amongst these are two new playlists, Salvage and Deep Dives. Deep Dives are the harder of the two with a recommended power level of 1810. They also reward better loot with a high chance of dropping Red Border Weapons. However, players are having a tough time getting that extra loot as it’s locked behind a secret most don’t know about. This has led the Destiny 2 community to want a ping system added. Destiny 2 players want ping system to finish Deep Dives secret A Destiny 2 fan took to Reddit to post a humorous video showcasing their experience trying to activate the new secret while playing Deep Dives. The secret requires all three players to interact and ‘Invoke Darkness’ with the Toland Orb, triggering a unique event. Completing the event will reward all players with Tier 3 loot, providing improved drops and a second chest at the end of the Deep Dive. However, with Destiny 2 having no ping system and text chat being disabled by default on console, it can be difficult to get everyone to come over. Frustrated by the lack of communication tools, one user responded: “Team activities should have a way to communicate with your team. If voice chat and text chat are opt in, at least give us a ping system.” Several replies agreed with this stance with other fans saying: “We need a ping system,” and “D2 needs a ping system for real.” It’s less common for a AAA team-based shooter to not have a ping system in this day and age. Most competitive FPS like Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, and Warzone 2 all feature a contextual ping wheel that adapts based on what is being pinged.

Destiny 2 update 3.4.0 patch notes: Super charge times, stasis changes, ability cooldowns – Dexerto
Destiny 2 update 3.4.0 patch notes: Super charge times, stasis changes, ability cooldowns BungieDestiny 2 is getting a serious update. On November 18, the developers revealed the full patch notes, showing sweeping changes to super generation, stasis, ability cooldowns, and more. Destiny 2 is drawing ever closer to its new Witch Queen expansion and Season 16 in early 2022, with the Dawning to come just before that in the 2021 holiday season. If those changes weren’t enough, Bungie announced an absolutely massive set of patch notes on November 18 that are set to hit live servers on December 7 alongside the Bungie 30th Anniversary content pack. The balance patch will apply to all players, regardless of whether they buy the anniversary content or not. Here’s the full breakdown of what to expect from the Destiny 2 update which should have a major impact on supers, stasis, and ability cooldowns for both PvP and PvE. Don’t forget, the servers will go down for maintenance while the patch is rolled out. Destiny 2 update: Supers, stasis, and ability cooldowns are getting big changes According to the official Bungie blog post, this December 7 update will fine-tune cooldowns and charge times for supers and all abilities, rather than having them all recharge on a uniform timer. “This gives us a new knob to turn when balancing abilities that are too powerful or not powerful enough. Now that we have this new system in place, we’ve done a cooldown-tuning pass of all the subclass abilities in the game, tuning each ability’s cooldown time against its power output,” said devs in the post. This means that different subclasses grenades, special abilities, and supers will all charge at varying rates based on how effective they tend to be in-game, with lesser impactful abilities now changing more quickly. Here’s a breakdown of how fast super’s will now charge, organized in tiers by developers: Tier 5 (Fastest Regeneration) Well of Radiance – – Tier 4 Blade Barrage – Silence and Squall – – Tier 3 Shadowshot – Burning Maul – Arc Staff – Nova Bomb – Thundercrash – – Tier 2 Golden Gun – Chaos Reach – Nova Warp – Stormtrance – Daybreak – Sentinel Shield – – Tier 1 (Slowest Regeneration) Spectral Blades – Fist of Havoc – Hammer of Sol – Glacial Quake – Winter’s Wrath – – In addition to this adjustment, stasis crystals are also getting an overhaul and a massive nerf to-boot. Now, rather than freezing enemies in PvP, stasis will now only slow enemies and they’ll do far less damage upon their destruction. Things should stay mostly the same for stasis in PvE and should even feel potential a bit stronger as detonation damage is being increased by over 50%. All of these changes come amid a massive patch that should serve to spice up the Destiny 2 gameplay experience significantly, making gunplay a higher priority than ever. Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Pack 3.4.0 patch notes The full patch notes are quite lengthy and can be accessed in full on Bungie’s website for those interested in the complete breakdown. In fact, Bungie actually added additional notes with the latest blog post. As a reminder, these patch notes are set to go live on December 7, alongside the 30th Anniversary Pack, and the game’s servers will go down for maintenance while the update is rolled out.

Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity guide: Encounters, mechanics, Lightning Round, more – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity guide: Encounters, mechanics, Lightning Round, more BungieDestiny 2’s 30th Anniversary celebration is in full swing, with Guardians diving into the new Dares of Eternity activity to grab some exciting loot. Here’s exactly how to conquer Xur’s complex game show challenge. With Destiny 2 developer Bungie celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2021, the studio’s flagship franchise received plenty of engaging new content as the celebration kicked off. In addition to goodies like fancy new cosmetics, crossover weapons, and even free Bright Dust rewards, Destiny 2 players were awed by the addition of two new activities: the Grasp of Avarice 3-player dungeon and Dares of Eternity 6-player matchmade activity. This new gauntlet is hosted by none other than the mysterious Xur, and this Agent of the Nine has plenty of surprises in store each time you jump into his game show experience. Here’s what you need to know in order to conquer Dares of Eternity. Contents: Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Explained – Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Mechanics – Destiny 2 Dates of Eternity Encounters – Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Final Bosses – Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Lightning Round – Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Rewards – Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Explained While some of Destiny 2’s new content requires you to purchase the 30th Anniversary Pack, Dares of Eternity does not. Bungie released this activity as part of the free-to-play portion of the celebration, and you can jump right in by selecting the new Eternity node in the Director. After your first Dares of Eternity run (when you login for the first time after the Anniversary Update, you’ll be thrown into the activity automatically), you’ll make a quick pit-stop in Xur’s Treasure Horde to prepare for your future forays. In this new social space, you can visit Xur and the mysterious Starhorse to stock up on bounties and collect rewards. This will be the main source of loot during your adventures in and out of Eternity. Along with bounties from Xur, you can also tackle challenges from the Starhorse, which are more difficult to complete but grant you impressive rewards. Dares of Eternity might be the first game show we’ve seen in Destiny 2, but its gameplay loop will be quite familiar to veterans: defeat groups of enemies with different mechanics during various encounters, then collect some shiny new loot. Once you’ve loaded up on bounties, you can return to Eternity’s node in the director and launch Dares of Eternity — and this is where we really get down to business. Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Mechanics While Xur’s game show features plenty of fighting, it also has new mechanics to help keep the experience fresh. During the first two encounters, you’ll spin the Wheel of Adversity to find out which enemies you’ll be facing and what special objectives you’ll have to complete. What you get during each run is totally up to chance, but luckily, we’ve got a full breakdown of what to expect in each case: Taken: when facing the Taken, you’ll need to defeat specific enemies that release Paracausal Energy (shiny Taken orbs) and throw these orbs at a Taken Blight until it’s destroyed. Kill enemies, pick up the energy they drop, throw it at the orb and repeat as needed – Vex: defeating the Vex means defeating their powerful Gatekeepers. This can only be done by disabling their shields with Void Craniums, which drop from another special enemy called Headbearers. Use these powerful lasers to melt the Gatekeepers’ shields, then take them down – Fallen: a callback to the Warden of Nothing Strike (and the Prison of Elder before it), when facing the Fallen you’ll need to disable their mines. Whenever a mine spawns, go stand in its general vicinity until its disabled, then rinse and repeat – Hive: if you’re fighting the Hive, you’ll need to destroy the shiny crystals that appear in each arena. To do this, eliminate powerful enemies that spawn glowing green Wells, which grant you the Ruinous Resonance buff, allowing you to damage those pesky crystals – Cabal: similar to the Vex, if you’re going up against the Cabal, you’ll need to eliminate several powerful Commanders after disabling their shields. Defeat enemy Bombtenders who spawn Dare Cores which can then be thrown at these powerful enemies to bring down their shields and expose them to damage – In addition to all of the unique mechanics, Dares of Eternity also features a mixture of all three Champion types: Barrier, Overload, and Unstoppable, so you’ll need at least a few players on your team who have the appropriate mods equipped to take these enemies down. So, now that you know what you’ll be up against in each encounter, you probably want to know about those encounters themselves. Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered there, too. Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Encounters First Encounter After starting up Dares of Eternity, you and your fellow Guardians will spawn into a fresh run. Jump through the portal in front of you, which will launch you forward into a snowy landscape, featuring some platforms and tunnels where Taken enemies will be hiding. Eliminate the opposition, then spin the wheel to find out who you’ll be facing next. Once the game show chooses your opponents, get ready for a fight and make sure to be aware of each faction’s special mechanics that we mentioned earlier. Read More: Destiny 2 update 3.4.0 patch notes: Super charge times, stasis changes, ability cooldowns – After that group of enemies has been defeated, this outdoor arena will be cleared, and you can move on the face Xur’s next challenge: the obstacle course. Obstacle Course After making your way past the first encounter, you’ll encounter a gravity lift of sorts. Enter this device, and you’ll be flung up and out towards the obstacle course. If you time your entrance right, you’ll soar through the air and land neatly on a platform high above the ground. In addition to skipping the obstacle course, you’ll also be granted the Starhorse’s Favor buff, which grants extra resistance, ability recovery, and heavy ammo to boot. However, if you don’t time your acrobatics just right, you’ll slam headfirst into a rotating collection of rocks, which will send you plummeting to the ground below. If this happens, you won’t receive that buff, and you’ll have to make your way through a fairly simple but time-consuming and potentially annoying set of moving rocks and slippery slopes in order to reach the next encounter. Second Encounter After your whole team has arrived at the second arena, spin the wheel once again to find out who you’re facing next. Whether it’s the same enemies as before, or a new faction entirely, the same rules apply: stay alive while completing each opponent’s specific objectives. The second encounter also contains a miniboss battle at the very end. Once you’ve taken care of that powerful enemy, you’ll be presented with a choice between three doors, each labeled with the symbol of one enemy faction: Hive, Cabal, or Vex. Players can stand on three corresponding plates to vote on who they think their final opponents will be — choose correctly, and you’ll receive the Starhorse’s Favor, but pick the wrong opponent and you’ll be hit with a debuff instead. Either way, one door will open and send you through a much shorter (and easier) obstacle course before facing off against some familiar faces from Destiny 1, each with their own unique mechanics. Read on to find out exactly how to handle these pesky adversaries. Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Final Bosses Like the unique mechanics from before, each of the three final bosses in Dares of Eternity come with their own special challenges that you and your teammates will need to overcome. Crota One of the most iconic villains in the Destiny universe, Crota has returned once again to terrorize you in Dares of Eternity. As a callback to Destiny 1, you can only damage this fearsome Hive enemy after knocking him on his knees with a deadly Hive sword. During this boss encounter, Swordbearer Knights will spawn throughout the arena, which drop those same Hive swords you need to kill Crota. Find and eliminate these Swordbearers, steal their weapons, then wail away on Crota until he’s defeated. Unfortunately, Crota won’t be taken out that easily, and three more Aspects of Crota will spawn after you defeat the original. There’s a lot of action going on all at once, but work with your team to take out more Swordbearers and focus on the Aspects until they’re all defeated. Zydron Like Crota, we already faced down Zydron back in Destiny 1 during our quest to enter the mysterious Black Garden. Well, Zydron has returned in Dares of Eternity, and he comes with plenty of Vex-like mechanics to throw you off your game. First, the Gate Lord will send out red Vex barriers, similar to the ones we had to avoid during Expunge back in Season of the Splicer. Instead of killing you, however, these barriers will Detain you — a mechanic Guardians will be familiar with from the Vault of Glass raid. Avoid these massive walls or shoot your way out of the bubbles they trap you in and prepare for the next phase of the fight. Zydron will call in some Vex reinforcements, including two powerful Keybearers that shield their master from damage. Take them out, then focus on Zydron, dealing as much damage as possible. If you don’t take him down during the first DPS phase, you’ll need to repeat these steps until he is put down once and for all. Valus Ta’aurc Another iconic Destiny 1 enemy, Valus Ta’aruc has returned in Dares of Eternity alongside Crota and Zydron. This pesky Cabal will shield himself after taking a bit of damage at the start of the battle, and you won’t be able to finish him off until that shield is gone. Like earlier Cabal encounters, you’ll need to find and eliminate marked enemies, called Siegebearers, to progress the fight. Once all of these opponents are defeated, two shield generators will spawn that can only be damaged by hurling Cabal explosives at them. Kill off Cabal, including some Threshers that spawn and harass you from the sky, grab the orbs they drop, then toss them at the generators until they’re destroyed. Now, you can finally take down Valus himself. Hit the massive Cabal with all your firepower, and he should go down pretty quickly. Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Lightning Round While most Dares of Eternity runs end after the final boss fight, sometimes Xur will surprise you with what he likes to call a Lightning Round. These appear to be totally random, but always reward you with extra loot — if you’re able to conquer them. This involves facing off against a horde of Taken enemies while fighting to capture sets of control points, so keep your head on a swivel and make sure you’re ready for a fight. If you do manage to conquer the Lightning Round before time runs out, Xur and the Starhorse will reward you with three bonus chests — multiplying your standard loot haul and practically drowning you in exciting new gear, Treasure Keys, and Strange Coins. Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity Rewards There are several ways you’ll be rewarded after your Dares of Eternity runs. The chest (or chests) at the end of each run can drop new gear and the Treasure Keys and Strange Coins you’ll need to claim rewards from Xur and the Starhorse, respectively. Treasure Keys can be used to open reward chests back in Xur’s Treasure Hold. One Key will get you a random weapon drop from the activity’s loot pool, which contains the following weapons (which all pay homage to previous Bungie titles like Halo and Myth): BXR-55 Battler pulse rifle – Half-Truths sword – The Other Half sword – Retraced Path trace rifle – Wastelander M5 shotgun – Pardon our Dust grenade launcher – Each Dares run you complete also increases your reputation with Xur, who now has a brand-new vendor screen (think Crucible, Vanguard, or Gambit reputation). Building up your rep allows you to choose more focused rewards but will set you back more Treasure Keys as well. Finally, the Starhorse offers its own selection of rewards that can be claimed with Strange Coins. These include Legendary Engrams, Glimmer, packages that can contain a mixture of 30th Anniversary gear and currencies, along with more Tresure Keys. And there you have it, everything you need to know about Destiny 2’s Dares of Eternity activity. Destiny 2 Crux Convergence Public Event: How to trigger Heroic, full guide – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crux Convergence Public Event: How to trigger Heroic, full guide BungieWith Beyond Light now available in Destiny 2, Europa has taken center stage and there’s an all-new Public Event for you to tackle; from each objective, to how to activate the secret Heroic modifier, here’s what you need to know. [jwplayer FcWdjVVq] No different from every other Destination in Destiny, Europa has launched in Destiny 2 with a fresh Public Event to get through. The snowy location brings new objectives to the mix, new abilities to experiment with, and of course, new challenges. Completing Public Events is always a great way to earn some quick XP if you’re passing by. Though Heroic Public Events always come with a decent chance of obtaining higher tier loot. They’re almost always worth your time but triggering that Heroic modifier can be a pain if you don’t know what to look out for. The standard Crux Convergence Public Event on Europa couldn’t be simpler. Though there’s a sneaky twist if you’re looking to ramp things up. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest public activity in Destiny 2. How to complete the Crux Convergence Public Event on Europa The new Public Event can only be found on Europa at the launch of Beyond Light. This one starts right away so be ready for a fight as soon as the flag disappears. Three Fallen Brigs will drop into the location but they can’t be knocked out in the beginning. All three of these giant mechs come with invulnerable shields that need to be deactivated. – In order to do this, you’ll notice a small Darkness pyramid ship nearby. Stand underneath this and you’ll progress the capture point. Once the bar is at 100% a single Brig will have its shield come down. – From here, you can launch your attack and take one of the three giant enemies down. – Repeat the process three times to deal with all of them and that’s the Public Event all wrapped up. – How to complete the Heroic Crux Convergence Public Event on Europa If you want to make the most out of the new Public Event on Europa, activating the Heroic modifier couldn’t be simpler. Before you step foot underneath each of the three Darkness ships, look directly above them for a handful of tiny drones. Three or four little drones will appear around each of the ships and all you need to do is gun them down before clearing the zones. They’re extremely weak, won’t fire back, and can be dealt with in a split second. – You just need to clear them all out from the very first ship, since there’s no way of going back once you’ve made progress. – With the drones handled on all three ships and the Brigs taken care of, one final enemy will spawn in. – The Fallen Commodore is enormous with a considerable amount of health. Use your best weapons, fight alongside multiple allies, and you should be able to knock this foe down in no time. –

Destiny 2 Crucible mode will run at 120 FPS on PS5 & Xbox Series X – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crucible mode will run at 120 FPS on PS5 & Xbox Series X BungieIt’s officially been announced that Destiny 2’s Crucible mode will be able to run at 120 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Crucible is Destiny’s PvP mode, where players can earn loot and rank up by battling it out against one another across a variety of game modes and maps. Thanks to Bungie CEO Pete Parsons, we now know that it will run at 120 FPS on the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, compared to the 60 FPS that the rest of the game will operate at. here’s @pparsons and @Xboxp3 announcing 120fps mode in Destiny 2 crucible pic.twitter.com/D5gAtOwDKq — Tom Warren (@tomwarren) November 10, 2020 “We are announcing today, right now, Crucible will be at 120 frames per second,” Parsons told a very excited Phil Spencer, who predicted he would now be getting killed “twice as fast.” While the increase in display quality will be big news for Destiny players on next-gen consoles, we don’t know if it will remain exclusive to just the Crucible, or eventually branch out to other areas of the game. For now, everything outside of PvP will apparently be 60 FPS, though there was nothing ruling out the possibility of a future update changing that sometime down the road. Higher FPS means players will be able to track targets more smoothly, see enemies sooner thanks to faster rendering speeds, and a number of other benefits. Which will definitely come in handy for the new Beyond Light expansion. Conveniently enough, Beyond Light dropped the same day as the announcement — Nov. 10 — so players who are lucky enough to have gotten a next-gen console will soon be able to frag out in the Crucible in glorious 120 FPS.

Destiny 2 Crowning Duologue: How to get Strand Rocker Launcher & God Roll (PvE/PvP) – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crowning Duologue: How to get Strand Rocker Launcher & God Roll (PvE/PvP) This year’s Destiny 2 Solstice event introduced a variety of content including a brand new Rocket Launcher. Here’s everything you need to know about Crowning Duologue including how to get the Strand Launcher and what its God Roll is for both PvE & PvP. Arriving alongside Solstice, Destiny 2’s first-ever Strand Rocket Launcher is here. The Crowning Duologue is a Precision Frame which means it automatically tracks enemies, albeit at the cost of overall impact damage. On paper, this new Rocket Launcher doesn’t exactly look meta-defining but it still could have some potential thanks to its unique perk pool. Plus it’s the only Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2 that can benefit from Strand-exclusive buffs. Here’s how to get the Crowning Duologue Strand Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2, and what God Rolls you should be looking out for. Contents How to get Crowning Duologue in Destiny 2 The Crowing Duologue is obtained as a somewhat rare drop from completing Bonfire Bash, Solstice’s seasonal activity. Bonfire Bash can be accessed through The Tower by selecting the playlist located just above the Courtyard. It is a co-op, matchmaking-enabled activity for fireteams of up to three players. What is the PvE God Roll for Crowning Duologue? Barrel: Volatile Launch – Magazine: Impact Casing – Basic Trait 1: Field Prep – Basic Trait 2: Chain Reaction – Origin Trait: Dream Work – Masterwork: Blast Radius – Mod: Boss Spec – Both Volatile Launch and Impact Casing are must-haves on just about any PvE Rocket Launcher. When combined they drastically improve both the launcher’s Blast Radius and damage on direct hits. For Basic Trait 1, we opt for Field Prep which increases Ammo Reserves and provides a huge boost to Reload Speed while crouching. The only good alternative in this slot is Auto-loading Holster which automatically reloads Crowning Duologue even when it’s holstered. As for Basic Trait 2, Chain Reaction is the stand-out choice. With this trait equipped each final blow creates an elemental damage explosion, effectively further increasing the Crowning Duologue’s Blast Radius. Alternatively, Cluster Bomb is a solid option that serves a similar purpose. What is the PvP God Roll for Crowning Duologue? Barrel: Quick Launch – Magazine: High-velocity Rounds – Basic Trait 1: Impulse Amplifier – Basic Trait 2: Hatchling – Origin Trait: Dream Work – Masterwork: Blast Radius – Mod: Quick Access Sling – For PvP, Velocity is the main priority as it makes it much harder for enemy Guardians to avoid incoming rockets. For this reason, it’s best to use Quick Launch and High-velocity Rounds which massively boost Velocity and even provide a nice bump to Handling and Reload Speed. To further enhance Velocity we recommend Impulse Amplifier which is always a fantastic pick on any PvP launcher. Not only does it drastically increase the velocity of fired rockets but it also provides a passive 20 Reload Speed which is great for follow-up shots. The final perk slot doesn’t have any massive standouts for PvP, but Hatchling is an interesting option as Crowning Duologue is the only Rocket Launcher to gain access to it. The only other worthwhile alternative is Chain Reaction. That’s everything you need to know about the Crowning Duologue Strand Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2. Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid guide: How to defeat Crota – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid guide: How to defeat Crota BungieCrota’s End is officially out in Destiny 2 leading to several new players and first-timers diving into the raid to obtain all the lucrative loot it has to offer. Here is a deep dive into the final encounter of the raid which is Crota himself. Crota’s End is not necessarily the hardest raid out there, but in Destiny 2 it has been quite a challenge. Crota especially has been a tough one to crack in this game as the boss hits hard and his massive health pool made contest mode quite difficult. In fact, such was the contest difficulty that most Destiny veterans feel they have not felt challenged to this level in several years now. This meant that as soon as contest mode was over, the casual player base started to dive deep into the raid to not just experience it but also obtain the loot. If you are a new player and have never done the raid, here is a full guide on the mechanics of Crota. Guide to defeating Crota in Destiny 2 Crota’s End raid A step-by-step guide on the various mechanics that you need to keep in mind in order to defeat Crota in Destiny 2 has been presented below: Step 1: Clear out the towers Once the encounter starts you will notice that there are two towers on both corners of the boss room. Inside those towers, there will be basic Hive knights. You must kill these Hive knights as the rest of the encounter depends on it. Ideally, you want to divide your team into two sections to clear out the knights quickly. The knights aren’t hard, and a fusion rifle with a Strand grenade can quickly wipe them off. Step 2: Ogres and Swordbearer Once the Hive knights in both towers are dead, two Ogres and a Swordbearer knight will spawn in the middle section of the room. Remember that in order to spawn them, you must kill the Hive knights in the towers. Therefore, it is recommended that you keep one player in charge of the towers at all times. Now, once the Ogres spawn, you should clear them out but do not kill the Swordbearer knight yet. Step 3: The Chalice of Light You will notice that in the middle of the room, there will be a Chalice of Light (similar to the ones you must have noticed in every other encounter so far). Once you grab the Chalice a small bar will start to fill up. Once that bar fills up a 10-second timer will start. Someone needs to take the buff from you before the timer runs out or else you will die. Step 4: Become Enlightened Once you pick up the Chalice of Light, you will notice one of the five sections in the room will glow brightly with white light. This glow will look like a pool of light as shown in the image above. Whoever picks up the Chalice of Light needs to stand in this pool of light. Once the bar on the left-hand side of the screen fills up and the 10-second timer begins, you need to exchange the buff inside the pool of light. As soon as a player picks up the chalice of light from you, a message will pop up on the left-hand side of your screen saying that you are enlightened. Step 5: Obtain the sword Once you are enlightened, kill the Swordbearer knight and get the sword. The reason why you should not kill the swordbearer knight before as the sword that it drops will disappear. However, you cannot pick up the sword unless you are enlightened. Keep the sword with yourself and do not drop it or hit Crota with it. If you drop the sword or hit Crota, the sword will disappear and you will be unable to pick it up again. Step 6: Cycle the Enlightened buff and deposit the Chalice of Light Repeat steps 1 to 5 to make sure that another player in your team gets access to a sword. At this point, your team should have two swords in your possession. Now, your team needs to get a third player enlightened, but do not give them a sword. Just let them stay enlightened. Meanwhile, the fourth player who picked up the Chalice of Light from the third player needs to deposit it at a plate. This way you preserve the Chalice for the next phase. Step 7: Break Crota’s Shield At this point, you should have two players with swords and one player who is enlightened. Walk up to Crota, place a Well of Radiance, and start beating down Crota’s shield. Step 8: Crota’s DPS and Oversoul mechanic Once Crota’s shield breaks, it is time to DPS the boss. Hit the boss as much as possible to make sure that you can take down his health bar to somewhere around 50%. However, there is a catch to this DPS encounter. While the DPS begins, Crota’s oversoul mechanic will start. You will get a 30-second timer for the DPS. However, once the timer reaches somewhere around 5 seconds, the third enlightened member who did not pick up a sword should hit the oversoul with their weapon. Once the oversoul breaks the DPS will stop. If you do not break the oversoul in time, Crota will wipe your entire fireteam. Step 9: Final Stand Once Crota’s HP reaches the threshold, his Final Stand will begin. During the Final Stand, guard your swords and stand inside a Well of Radiance as Crota performs a small AoE attack that will push you away. His shield will appear and disappear after a few seconds and you need to finish him off right now. Once you deal enough DPS, Crota will finally fall. It is important to mention here that Step 6 can be performed in two ways. You can collect two swords at once or even three and then take down Crota’s shield in one go. Otherwise, you can take one sword, break Crota’s shield a little, and then repeat steps 1 to 5 again. This will depend on how comfortable your team is with collecting multiple swords. However, you must remember that breaking his shield at once is the encounter challenge. If you learn it now, then it will be easier for you once Master version of the raid arrives later on. Weapons for Crota DPS in Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid In order to DPS Crota, Legend of Acrius and Lament are your best options. These weapons will deal an insane amount of damage and you can take down Crota very fast. These weapons worked the best in contest mode, which means they will work marvelously in normal mode. However, one person in your fireteam needs to have access to Tractor Cannon. This weapon will help debuff Crota. The player using Tractor Cannon can run a good fusion rifle to DPS the boss from time to time. Lastly, Oversoul can be broken quite easily with an autorifle or a fusion rifle. This concludes our guide for the Crota encounter in the Crota’s End raid. If you found it informative, please check out some of our other guides at Dexerto. Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid: Release date, race to world’s first, streams, more – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid: Release date, race to world’s first, streams, more BungieCrota’s End is returning to Destiny 2 in Season 22, so here’s everything you need to know including the release date, Contest Mode details, and how to watch the race to world’s first. After the release of the Ghosts of the Deep in Season of the Deep, Season 22 of Destiny 2 will bring about a reprised raid from Destiny 1. This Raid has been made official as Crota’s End, which was released back during The Dark Below expansion. With all the hype slowly building up for this Raid, we’ve got you covered with all you need to know. From initial details on Contest Mode to an overview on how the race to world’s first all works, here’s the rundown. Crota’s End Raid Destiny 2 release date & start time As confirmed by Bungie, Crota’s End arrives in Destiny 2 on September 1st, 2023 at 10AM PT | 1PM ET | 5PM UTC | 6PM BST | 7PM CEST. Crota’s End Contest Mode in Destiny 2 Like other Raids, contest mode will be active for the first 48 hours, meaning your fireteam will face a greater challenge, but also receive exclusive rewards if you’re able to complete it during this period. Guardians are required to be at 1790 Power to be at the cap for all the encounters throughout the Raid. Bungie is also upping the difficulty of Contest Mode here for a uniquely challenging launch weekend. Here are the highlights: Increased the cap of player outgoing damage vs. combatants. Keep in mind that the incoming damage cap did not change. – Some enemies will gain elemental shields. – All enemies will be more aggressive than in the previous Contest Mode – Crota’s End Rewards in Destiny 2 Bungie has confirmed three weapons will be returning with Crota’s End in Destiny 2, including the coveted Exotic auto-rifle Necrochasm. How to grab Necrochasm in the first 48 hours In order to grab Necrochasm within the first 48 hours, players will need to complete the Bottomless Pit quest from the raid vendor. The Bottomless Pit quest will likely see players complete the raid in contest mode, making the effort well worth the reward. Alongside this, the Bottomless Pit quest will also reward a Husk of the Pit and a fully master-worked Eidolon’s Ally. How to grab Necrochasm after the first 48 hours Players are still able to grab the Necrochasm after the first 48 hours, however, they’ll need to start the quest from the beginning once more. Crota’s End Armor and Weapons According to leaks, here are the other weapons returning with Crota’s End: Word of Crota (Void Hand Cannon) – Swordbreaker (Strand Shotgun) – Song of Ir Yut (Arc Machine Gun) – Oversoul Edict (Arc Pulse Rifle) – Fang of Ir Yut (Strand Scout Rifle) – Abyss Defiant (Solar Auto Rifle) – Crota’s End will also feature its own armor set as well, which will certainly give off a Hive-like aesthetic. Raid armor generally has higher stats, making them more coveted when build crafting. Crota’s End Destiny 2 World First Race Like other previous races that were reintroduced into Destiny 2, there will be a Raid race taking place between some of Destiny’s top fireteams to see who can take down Crota first. This time around, given it’s a reprised raid, the rules are a little different. First up, teams have to complete the standard Raid with Contest Mode active. In doing so, they’ll unlock Challenge Mode. The first team to complete Challenge Mode is declared the winner via the DestinyTheGame Twitter account. Bungie has mentioned that the encounters will be receiving tweaks and alterations to better suit Destiny 2’s sandbox, meaning we may see mechanics being changed around. This could potentially elongate the world’s first race as even veteran D1 players may need to learn the new mechanics. Crota’s End World First Race Streams With all the hype and excitement abound, Destiny 2 content creators will be hopping on to stream their race to taking down Crota. Massive names from the Destiny community like Datto and Sweatcicle will likely be hopping into the ring to fight it out once more. Datto is arguably one of the most well-known Destiny content creators, consistently taking place in world’s first races with his team Maths Class. You can find some of the streamers who are likely to take place in the World’s First Race for Crota’s End below: Sweatcicle is also well known for their content, and was one of the team members on fireteam Redeem, who were the first group to clear the insanely difficult Last Wish Raid.

Destiny 2 Crota’s End loot table: How to get weapons and armor – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crota’s End loot table: How to get weapons and armor BungieCrota’s End has finally arrived in Destiny 2 and it has been a massive success, far more than how it was back in Destiny 1. As such, here is a complete list of all the loot you can obtain per encounter as they are quite good and worth obtaining. Crota’s End has been a massive success for far in Destiny 2. The contest mode of the raid saw a difficulty level that the community had missed for a while in the game. In fact, it was way more difficult than Root of Nightmares and the number of people who completed Crota’s End in contest mode was much lesser than the former. However, with contest mode over, it is time to grind. There are pretty good weapons in Crota’s End raid and here is a list of all that you can obtain. Apart from that, the armor from the raid is also quite good looking with a reprised version from the Age of Triumph version of the raid. List of all weapons and armor from Crota’s End raid Just like every other raid in Destiny 2, the weapons and armor you can obtain are tied to certain encounters. Therefore, if you are looking to grind something specific, your time will be spent better focusing on one particular encounter instead of the whole raid. The weapons and armor you can obtain across the encounters have been presented in the following table: One of the most essential aspects to note here is that Swordbreaker and Fang of Ir Yut are strand weapons. Apart from that, Oversoul Edict is a really powerful pulse rifle that can function in both PvP and PvE. This completes our guide for Crota’s End loot table in Destiny 2. If you found it informative, please look into some of our other guides at Dexerto. Destiny 2 Crota’s End armor changes make getting missing pieces easier – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Crota’s End armor changes make getting missing pieces easier BungieBungie has changed how armor drops work in Destiny 2’s Crota’s End raid by increasing the variety of drops across different encounters making it easier to get missing pieces. Heading into Crota’s End there were concerns in the community that Destiny 2’s latest raid wouldn’t deliver. The looter shooter’s core community wanted a challenge but with Crota’s being reprised content that wasn’t guaranteed. However, it did not disappoint with Crota’s End offering some of the hardest content in Destiny. This difficulty made the grind more satisfying but some players had noticed they were receiving some drops more than others. The strange weighting of drops was particularly noticeable with armor as some pieces were being rewarded much more frequently than others. Now Bungie has acknowledged this and made the appropriate changes. Crota’s End armor changes increases drop variety in Destiny 2’s newest raid Bungie revealed a list of changes for Crota’s End that should result in armor pieces being more evenly distributed across its four encounters. Announced in this week’s TWID patch notes, the changes are as follows: Crota’s End loot pool has been modified to have a more balanced distribution of armor pieces. This change only affects armor. Weapon drops remain as before. – This is the new loot pool, per encounter: Abyss: helmet, gauntlets, and chest armor – Oversoul Throne Bridge: gauntlets, chest armor, and leg armor – Ir Yut: chest armor, leg armor, and class item – Crota, Son of Oryx: leg armor, class item, and helmet – – – Based on the community’s testing it is believed that the previous loot pool rewarded gauntlets and chest armor on three encounters while helmet and leg armor were only available in one. After the tweaked distribution, every armor piece is now available from at least two encounters. This is great news for those farming the raid and trying to collect every unique armor set.

Bungie accidentally turns Destiny 2 crossplay on early – Dexerto
Bungie accidentally turns Destiny 2 crossplay on early BungieBungie accidentally turned Destiny 2 crossplay on a little early — Guardians quickly discovered they could already console-hop in the Season of the Splicer, months before the popular feature was actually meant to go live. Usually, when Bungie gets something wrong behind the scenes, it means hours of loading screens, “Honeydew” errors, or features simply not working. This time around, however, the wrong Destiny 2 switch being flicked has been a bank error in our favor; the flagship looter’s highly-anticipated crossplay feature was accidentally set live on Tuesday. Since the launch of the Season of the Splicer, excited Guardians on Xbox and PC were able to load into Strikes, Crucibles, and matchmade lobbies together. So far, there has been no confirmation PlayStation players could also join in on the fun, so it appeared to be limited to Microsoft consoles only. Considering crossplay was originally penned in to drop a little over three months, in mid-Season 15, it was a very, very early arrival for the popular feature. This technical fluke was, of course, welcomed with open arms by Guardians, but don’t Bungie warned it wouldn’t be around for long On Tuesday night, lead community manager Chris “Cozmo” Shannon confirmed Bungie was well aware of the crossplay “sneak peek,” and was already hard at work rolling it back to a non-live state. He did go on to encourage Guardians to take advantage of the early access while they can, however. “We are seeing reports some Destiny 2 players are able to get a ‘sneak peek’ at crossplay,” the Bungie mouthpiece tweeted on May 12. “This isn’t meant to be live yet and is not representative of the full experience,” he continued. “We will be implementing a fix to remove public access later this week, but in the meantime feel free to partake.” Dexerto tested the feature at the time and confirmed that it worked a treat. Before long, however, it was soon disabled late on Thursday, May 13. Hotfix 3.2.0.0 quickly removed the feature before Guardians got too carried away. Unfortunately, with the exception of a lucky few this week, the wait for Destiny 2 crossplay is set to stretch on for at least the next few months. Bungie has previously confirmed crossplay will go live around Q4 of this year. Before we get the full feature, Destiny 2 devs will also get access to “international rollouts and alpha tests,” before several beta runs are hosted during late Season 14 for select Guardians. “This should help for a smooth landing when Destiny 2 crossplay “[launches] this fall,” game director Joe Blackburn explained back in February.

Destiny 2 cross save guide: How to link accounts, cross-progression on PC, PlayStation & Xbox – Dexerto
Destiny 2 cross save guide: How to link accounts, cross-progression on PC, PlayStation & Xbox BungieFor those who want to play Destiny 2 on multiple devices, cross-save can help you do just that in the FPS. This has been one of the most beloved features since it was added during Shadowkeep, so here’s everything you need to know about cross-progression in the game. As any veteran Guardian knows well at this point in the Destiny franchise’s lifecycle, Bungie’s looter-shooter provides one major incentive that keeps players coming back season after season: the chase for powerful (and aesthetically pleasing) gear. But with literally thousands of items in the game (guns, armor, ships, Sparrows, emotes, Ghost shells — you get the point), managing your inventory can become a chore, and if you maintain multiple characters across more than one platform, it becomes an almost impossible task. Thankfully, after years of players begging for the feature to be added, Bungie finally introduced cross save into Destiny 2. Here’s everything you need to know about setting up the feature correctly, what platforms your progress carries over to, and more. How does cross-progression work in Destiny? Cross-progression in Destiny 2 functions exactly how it sounds: you can link all platforms where you play to your Bungie.net account, and then choose one set of Guardians whose progress and gear will carry over across all systems: PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, Steam, and Stadia. There are a few important considerations to take into account: you cannot merge characters or gear from different platforms, or transfer purchased expansions and Silver between systems. For a full breakdown of the stipulations involved, check out Bungie’s cross save FAQ page. Another important thing to note is that while you can disable cross-save if you have second thoughts after activating the feature, you’ll be locked out of reactivating cross-progression again for 3 months, so it’s not a choice to be made lightly. In order to make use of cross save in Destiny 2, you’ll need to set up a Bungie.net account, and have all of your login information for each platform you plan on linking ready and available. Once you’ve got all that on hand, you’ll be ready to activate cross save on your account. How to set up cross save in Destiny 2: PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia Once you’re ready to get cross save up-and-running, follow these steps to set up the feature: Log into your account on Bungie.net – Select the ‘Cross Save’ option from the account menu – Link any new platforms that aren’t already associated with your Bungie.net account (you’ll need the login information for each of those platforms to do so) – Authenticate any existing platforms that were previously linked (you’ll need to re-enter your login information for these systems as well) – Select the platform/characters whose progress you want to take with you across all other systems and confirm your selection one final time Note: you cannot merge sets of characters from different platforms, so make sure you choose the trio of Guardians that you plan on using for all content moving forward – – Once you review your cross save settings and finalize the setup, you’ll receive a ‘Cross Save Activated’ message, confirming the process was successful. You can now login to any linked platforms and see your chosen set of Guardians ready and willing to jump into action. Does Destiny 2 support crossplay? With cross save available on all platforms that support Destiny 2, you might be wondering whether or not you can team up with your fellow Guardians who prefer to play on different systems. The short answer is: yes! Players can team up with Guardians across PC, Stadia, Xbox, and PlayStation. There are some key things to consider about how it works, though, so we’d recommend checking out our full Destiny 2 crossplay guide for everything you need. And there you have it, that’s everything you need to know about cross save in Destiny 2 and how to get it up and running. Destiny 2 creative director reappears to promise The Final Shape is not the end – Dexerto
Destiny 2 creative director reappears to promise The Final Shape is not the end BungieDestiny 2: The Final Shape is only a couple of months away, and, as part of the run-up to its release, the developers are releasing further details and reassuring players that the game isn’t going anywhere. In their recent live stream, Destiny 2 Executive Creative Director Luke Smith confirmed that the game is not ending with The Final Shape. “The Final Shape is the culmination of a ten year journey… It’s a journey that will end inside the traveller with you facing The Witness. But facing The Witness is not the end of Destiny 2 and it’s definitely not the end of Destiny,” Smith said. “After you face The Witness we’re going to tell you what’s coming next to Destiny 2… and beyond.” The news will undoubtedly come as a relief to the game’s community, many of whom have been playing since the first game launched in 2014. What exactly the game will look like after The Final Shape is unclear, but it does seem likely that a direct sequel is now off the table. Bungie will also have to deal with the inevitable feeling of a conclusion that the expansion will provide and give players an incentive to get involved in a new future beyond the bounds that the game has laid out for so long.

Destiny 2: could Trials of the Nine gear return in the Prophecy dungeon? – Dexerto
Destiny 2: could Trials of the Nine gear return in the Prophecy dungeon? BungieSince the release of Beyond Light, players have criticized the lack of gear in Destiny 2. In a post on r/DestinyTheGame, the community is asking Bungie to address these issues by reintroducing old gear via the Prophecy dungeon. While Beyond Light has been praised for its introduction of Stasis and new activities on Europa, many players feel slighted by a massive reduction in the gear that’s available. The new expansion has introduced weapon sunsetting and content vaulting into Destiny 2, (which means) much of the game’s older gear is now irrelevant due to power caps or has been removed entirely, and players are desperate for Bungie to provide replacements. In a post on the DestinyTheGame subreddit, players proposed one possible solution to the issue: reintroducing Trials of the Nine weapons with the return of the Prophecy dungeon. Why Trials of the Nine weapons in the Prophecy dungeon makes sense Originally introduced in the Season of Arrivals, the Prophecy dungeon was praised by many as some of Destiny 2’s best PVE content. In the lead-up to Beyond Light, Bungie announced that due to technical considerations the activity would be temporarily disabled but would return at a later date. With Destiny 2 update 3.0.1 on December 8, the dungeon will make its triumphant return. In a thread posted on the DestinyTheGame subreddit, user ‘u/Epic-artard69’ has proposed that Bungie bring back Trials of the Nine weapons and incorporate them into the activity when it finally returns. Trials of the Nine was Destiny 2’s original pinnacle PVP activity. However, due to the community’s underwhelming response to the game mode, Bungie eventually removed it. The developer later brought back Trials of Osiris from Destiny 1 to take its place. Trials of the Nine and the Prophecy dungeon are both related to a group of characters in Destiny 2 called the Nine. The return of the dungeon provides a logical reason for Trials of the Nine weapons – which have been unavailable since the activity’s removal – to return. As the Reddit thread suggests, Bungie could bring back old Trials of the Nine weapons – updated with random rolls – and add them to the Prophecy’s loot pool. This would allow newer Destiny 2 players to acquire these weapons for the first time, and expand the game’s reduced selection of loot. In a time where Destiny 2’s loot pool is severely reduced, providing players with an avenue to obtain these weapons could go a long way towards addressing the community’s concerns. Destiny 2’s Prophecy dungeon will re-launch with update 3.0.1 on December 8.

Destiny 2 could finally be returning to Uldren Sov’s abandoned storyline – Dexerto
Destiny 2 could finally be returning to Uldren Sov’s abandoned storyline BungieUldren Sov could be returning as a crucial figure in Destiny 2 as Bungie may have subtly teased the Awoken’s next big role in the latest developer update. The upcoming Beyond Light expansion is set to launch Destiny 2 into its fourth year with a bang. The Darkness is making its presence felt like never before, Guardians can wield its power, and there’s likely to be a Civil War brewing at the Tower. However, there’s seemingly even more to uncover. Bungie has often interwoven multiple storylines throughout a given season or expansion. Many of those have typically been left on the backburner while core narratives take center stage, though. One such storyline that’s been kept on pause for the past year happens to be Uldren Sov’s. The Awoken Prince was last seen towards the tail end of 2018 after falling in battle in the Forsaken expansion. A Ghost revived him and instilled a sense of light, though Uldren couldn’t quite remember who he was in his previous form. Since then, Guardians have been on all sorts of grand adventures. But whatever happened to Uldren? It appears we might soon get some answers. The latest ‘This Week at Bungie’ blog post focused on Triumphs and how they will be evolving in the near future. While there was plenty of detail on how the system will work moving forward, one key image stood out. The developers revealed an early look at the Triumph tab for next season. Eagle-eyed players have already started theorizing what a simple logo in the image could mean. All of the destinations in Year 4 come with their own respective icons in the Triumph tab. While most are common knowledge, a triangular icon stood out among the top row. After Reddit user ‘blamite’ dug through Destiny’s original Grimoire cards from 2014, this icon looks to come from Uldren Sov’s first design. The Awoken displayed that sigil prominently on his chest piece not only in the lore collection, but also in one of the very first Destiny 1 trailers, long before the initial storyline was overhauled just months out from the game’s release. In this footage, the Awoken Prince is seen on the Cosmodrome. Asking a Guardian why the city is “breathing down [his] neck.” Given this connection, there’s a good chance that Uldren Sov pops back up in Year 4 as the Cosmodrone is unvaulted. Perhaps there’s a new questline that harkens back to his original ‘Crow’ persona, or maybe he’s there as a new vendor throughout Beyond Light. Only time will tell how it all pans out. The Crow, as he was formerly known during development, played a pivotal role in the early chapters of Destiny 1’s base game narrative. That storyline never quite came to light, but players might finally be revisiting the cut content as the next expansion draws near. Beyond Light is set to release on November 10. Before we get there, make sure you’ve finished everything that the first three years of Destiny 2 had on offer. Here’s a rundown on every piece of content leaving in just a few weeks.

New Destiny 2 Contact Public Event: how to trigger Heroic & full guide – Dexerto
New Destiny 2 Contact Public Event: how to trigger Heroic & full guide BungieSeason 11 of Destiny 2 is upon us and the Season of Arrivals has introduced a brand new Public Event. The activity plays out very similar to a round of Gambit, but there’s more to it than first meets the eye. Here’s our full breakdown. Public Events have been a staple throughout the history of Destiny. Short and simple bite-sized encounters for strangers to unite around and take down a common threat. Season of Arrivals has brought with it a new Public Event as players are tasked with banking motes underneath a pyramid ship. The mechanics of this activity will feel very familiar if you’re a Gambit expert, though there are a few new functions in play. Triggering the Heroic version of the event is rather simple on paper but requires some fast-paced teamwork. Here’s an in-depth overview of the encounter and how you can trigger Heroic every time around. Destiny 2 Contact Public Event Guide The purpose of the new Public Event is to “make first contact” with the looming threat of The Darkness. Across multiple destinations, their ominous pyramid ships will appear. It’s up to you and strangers nearby to fend off the evil forces. Read More: Destiny 2 Season 11 update 2.9.0 patch notes – Contact plays out in four separate stages, each of which requires players to bank a certain amount of motes before eliminating blockers. This is no different to a standard game of Gambit. Banks have to be charged with motes all the way up to 100%. Then the activity will transition and you’ll have two minutes to clear out blockers. These enemies will be easy enough to dispatch in large groups. If all four rounds are successfully completed in the allotted time, a boss fight will close things out. The Will of Quria will spawn in for the standard version of the Public Event. As per usual, the boss is quite the bullet sponge, so you’ll find strength in numbers. Once you take down this final foe, you’ll be rewarded in kind, no different to every other Public Event that came before. If you’re looking for even more of a challenge and even more loot, however, read on for our Heroic guide. How to trigger Heroic mode for the Contact Public Event If you want to activate the Heroic version of the Contact Public Event, you’re going to need to be quick. A line of text will appear on screen throughout the four rounds of mote-collecting: “Concentrated Darkness coalesces nearby.” The pyramid ship above will be casting a direct beam of light in a certain area. You’ll need to rush here and wipe out the Champion enemies in close proximity. Blooms will appear in these locations each round and if you’re not fast enough, Champions will collect them and prevent you from activating Heroic. Players have to find each and every bloom throughout the activity and bank it before each round ends. Repeating this process will eventually spawn in a much more difficult boss compared to the regular version. The Taken Pyromaster appears and “draws power from a nearby pylon.” Its shield will be impenetrable until this pylon is destroyed. Its health bar is split into chunks and with each chunk, new mini-bosses will spawn in as well. This is no easy battle, but again, you’ll find strength in numbers. Whether you take down the standard boss or the Heroic threat, a chest will be yours to open upon completion. Finishing the higher-tier challenge will net you two Umbral Engrams for your efforts. As Season 11 unfolds and Year 4 draws near, we’ll keep you updated with new information as it becomes available.

Destiny 2 confirms everything being vaulted in Year 4: Beyond Light – Dexerto
Destiny 2 confirms everything being vaulted in Year 4: Beyond Light BungieThe Destiny 2 community has been waiting with bated breath after Bungie announced that a heap of content would be vaulted in Year Four. With Beyond Light just around the corner, we now have a clear idea of everything that’ll be going away this November. Since its release in 2017, Destiny 2 has been growing with each new batch of content. Every major storyline, all of the new destinations, it was all squished into a single version of the game. We ultimately reached a breaking point where it became too difficult to fit new content in without tarnishing the experience, Bungie revealed in June. As a result, a wide array of content quickly landed on the chopping block. A number of full planets and all of the associated content were at risk. The overall size of Destiny 2 had to be reduced in order to make way for Beyond Light. While Mars, Io, Titan, Mercury, and the Leviathan were previously confirmed for the Destiny Content Vault, Bungie has now revealed every single piece of content that will be plucked on November 10. How Core Activities will be impacted in Year 4 of Destiny 2 With five full locations being removed from Destiny in the coming months, that means every instance of the space will be gone. From Lost Sectors to PVP maps and Strikes, the removal of a Destination pulls a heap of associated content. In total, seven Strikes will no longer be playable after the release of Beyond Light. The Strikes being removed are as follows: Io The Pyramidion – The Festering Core – Titan Savathun’s Song – Mars Strange Terrain – Will of the Thousands – Mercury Tree of Probabilities – A Garden World – On top of this PVE content, competitive action will also be shaken up in a big way. The Content Vault is set to claim 11 different Crucible maps as well as seven PVP modes as well. In their place, Momentum Control and Scorched are set to be ‘unvaulted’ as returning playlists. Though no exact date is set for their arrival. Here’s what’s leaving the Crucible on November 10. PVP Maps Meltdown – Solitude – Retribution – The Citadel – Emperor’s Respite – Equinox – Eternity – Firebase Echo – Gambler’s Ruin – Legion’s Gulch – Vostok – PVP Modes Supremacy – Countdown – Lockdown – Breakthrough – Doubles – As expected, the removal of these key Destinations will also impact Gambit in a big way. Expect to see the available maps shrink by a third of its current size. Both Dreaming City and Tangled Shore locations will only be around for the next few months until they’re vaulted. Here are the two locations leaving Gambit on November 10. Gambit Maps Cathedral of Scars – Kell’s Grave – How Raids and Dungeons will be impacted in Year 4 of Destiny 2 Alongside the standard batch of content across Destiny’s core modes, the more challenging Raids and Dungeons will also be moving around. With the removal of The Leviathan in its entirety, all Year One endgame activities will no longer be available. That alone has four raid experiences on the way out as Beyond Light draws near. Here’s a rundown on every raid being pulled from Destiny 2. Raids Leviathan – Eater of Worlds – Spire of Stars – Scourge of the Past – Crown of Sorrows – If you’re a fan of Dungeons, however, fear not as absolutely nothing will be changing on that front. All three Dungeons in the game today will still remain active moving into year four. Additional content being vaulted in Year 4 of Destiny 2 Alongside these lists of soon-to-be vaulted content, there are few minor tweaks that will be made to the core gameplay experience. For instance, 16 Exotic weapon quests will soon be a thing of the past. From the MIDA Multi-tool, to Izanagi’s Burden, players will no longer have to complete associated questilines. Instead, in year four, these will all be available “through a new Memorial kiosk situated among the Vault kiosks in the Tower.” In terms of Exotic Catalysts, things get a little murky. If you don’t have a certain Catalyst by the time year four rolls around, there’s no telling when you’ll be able to grab it in the future. There will be no way to unlock certain Catalysts once they’re vaulted, though Bungie assured they will “come out of the vault in a future Season.” Last but not least, the starting experience for new players is changing in a huge way. With the year one locations being removed, the entire base game storyline for Destiny 2 will no longer be playable. To address this, Bungie is “building a new, expanded Guardian origin story on the Cosmodrome.” This is set to launch alongside the major year four update and will be free to all players.

Destiny 2 community welcomes older player back to game with open arms – Dexerto
Destiny 2 community welcomes older player back to game with open arms BungieDestiny 2’s community has welcomed back an older community member with open arms, giving them various tips and tricks to help get them back into the game after their break. Bungie’s popular looter shooter Destiny 2 is a pretty massive game. With a new expansion coming out every year or so, it can be quite tough to keep up with all the new campaigns, locations and subclass changes Bungie implements to keep the game fresh. As such, it can be a bit of a turn-off for newer players to come and join the game, due to the sheer breadth of information given. Alongside this, Bungie’s transition to seasonal content in Destiny 2 generally requires players to hop into the game on a weekly basis in order to catch up with the story content. Add on top of this the recent changes Bungie has made to multiple systems in Lightfall, and the relatively poor experience for New Lights and returning players, it’s easy to see why players would be deterred from entering into the world of Destiny. However, some of the Destiny 2 community have come together in the most wholesome interaction the Destiny 2 Reddit page has ever seen. Reddit post bands Destiny 2 community together to help returning player The Reddit post on the Destiny 2 subreddit titled “Old lady says hello” has brought the community together to help an older returning player, who quit shortly after their father passed away in 2019. Reddit user Shragae explains in their post that they originally played a good chunk of the game back in 2019, but dropped off interest after their father passed away. Fortunately, their son was able to convince them to hop back into the game, and they seem to be enjoying it. Shragae explained that at their age, they’ve gotten addicted to Destiny 2 once again. However, they’ve expressed their confusion about the game and its many many facets. They turned to the community to ask for various tips and tricks on how to best learn all the mechanics in the game. Fortunately, the Destiny 2 community sprung into action and was more than helpful to the player. Some offered links to forums or posts that would help with mechanics and more, whilst other older members also introduced themselves. Furthermore, certain comments even gave condolences to the player’s father and were happy to welcome them back into the community. Destiny 2’s community can often be a bit of a mixed bag, but fortunately here this was one of the most wholesome moments had on the Destiny 2 subreddit.

Destiny 2 Community impressed as Bungie rushes multiple dev teams to save lost Titan – Dexerto
Destiny 2 Community impressed as Bungie rushes multiple dev teams to save lost Titan BungieMultiple Bungie dev teams were called in to assist a Destiny 2 player when their Titan mysteriously vanished after experiencing a connection issue. Destiny 2 is a game all about the grind, players will grind for countless hours on their Guardian in the hopes of getting a new god-roll weapon or exotic piece for them. That grind, however, is made worthwhile when players are able to see how it makes their character that much stronger whilst facing the toughest challenges. With all that time invested into their characters, players would never want to see their Guardians disappear, especially with all their equipment to boot. So when a player discovered that their Titan had suddenly vanished after a connection issue, they took to Reddit and the Bungie forums to see what could be done. Fortunately for this lucky player, their post on Reddit caught massive traction, as well as the attention of multiple Bungie dev teams. Bungie was able to pull multiple teams to assist in finding the lost Titan and was able to recover the entirety of the Guardian’s data. That included all of their weapons, armor, and seasonal quest progress, essentially reverting the character to before the bug had even occurred. Bungie released a statement alongside the fix for the Titan. Whilst originally thought to be a larger issue, Bungie utilized multiple teams to ensure that a fix for this issue was available. This was incredibly fortunate for the Titan that had gotten lost. That being said, Bungie pointed out the sheer manpower for a one-time fix for the Titan, meaning it’s unlikely players will be able to restore their own Guardians anytime soon should they also run into this issue. The effort Bungie had put behind retrieving the lost Titan hadn’t gone unnoticed, with not only the affected player but multiple community members applauding the team. Comments like “Hey, it’s really f awesome that you folks went to such an effort for this person.” and “Kudos to everyone at Bungie who played a part in this. Nothing but praise all around,” were not uncommon amongst them.

Destiny 2 community hits tipping point over PvP “neglect” as it falls apart – Dexerto
Destiny 2 community hits tipping point over PvP “neglect” as it falls apart BungieDestiny 2’s community has always been vocal about the poor state of its PvP game mode. However, the community has finally reached a tipping point on account of its unplayable condition in Season of the Deep. PvP has always been an integral part of Destiny. Ever since its release in 2014, the PvP mode has been home to several memorable moments for the entire player base. However, ever since Forsaken in Destiny 2, the community has been frustrated with the extreme neglect of this beloved game mode. Unfortunately, the situation has not changed with the release of Lightfall either, and as per the community, PvP is at its all-time worst. Destiny 2 community feels that they do not deserve this neglect from Bungie The poor state of PvP has been in discussion for quite a while ever since Lightfall launched. However, things have taken a drastic turn over the past few days in Season of the Deep. The first instance of this frustration was brought forth by Twitch streamer Gernader Jake who lost a flawless Trials of Osiris card on account of a cheater. The streamer claims that this issue has been a constant for a while now and Bungie has taken no steps to deal with it. The streamer claimed that players are paying hundreds of dollars to Bungie for Destiny 2 and the company is making billions in return. However, Bungie does not care to place even one person in charge of banning these cheaters. Gernader Jake feels that Bungie has turned their backs on a community that has been showing dedication for nine years now. However, this was not the only instance of frustration as another streamer Lanza also complained about the unstable state of PvP. The streamer posted a clip where they lost a game of Trials of Osiris randomly midway even though the match was clearly not over. This led to massive frustration for the streamer who slammed Bungie and mocked them for the 3.6 billion dollars they made in the Sony deal with which they have not made any improvements to Destiny 2. Lastly, there was also a video by Aztecross where he discussed how Destiny 2 has succumbed to microtransactions while also touching on the terrible state of PvP. Aztecross pointed out some of the issues raised by other streamers alongside the fact that PvP has not received a single new map in four years. Hence, it is safe to say that the community has been left extremely frustrated and they demand answers from Bungie. The community has also been vocal about how Marathon, Bungie’s new IP has led to the company abandoning Destiny 2, especially its PvP despite making promises to run the latter for another 10 years.

Destiny 2 community furious as new Exotic locked behind old story content – Dexerto
Destiny 2 community furious as new Exotic locked behind old story content BungieDestiny 2 fans are furious after developers Bungie locked the new Exotic weapon Choir of One behind several old story missions, requiring players to go back and complete them if they haven’t done so. Act Three of Destiny 2’s most recent Echoes episode has only just been released. With it came a new story and a new exotic mission that many players have jumped into in the hopes of getting new exotic loot. However, Guardians were quick to run into a myriad of bugs and issues, some of which soft-locked their progress in the mission. To add further insult to injury, some who got all the way through it weren’t even rewarded the exotic weapon. The reasoning for this was later revealed by Bungie in a tweet, which further added to the frustration of players. It turns out that Guardians must complete the entire story of both Act One and Act Two before receiving rewards from the Encore: Overture mission. This left players fuming, as many agreed the announcement should have gone out before the exotic mission was released. “Won’t lie, this should have been something stated before the act came out,” one player pointed out. Others such as content creator FalloutPlays suggested making the mission “unlaunchable” before players completed the previous acts to prevent further disappointment from unknowing Guardians. Fellow content creator Sweatcicle also called out Bungie for “gatekeeping” the exotic behind story missions that “nobody wants to play through.” “Stop gatekeeping the stuff people really want to play. Nobody wants to play through meaningless story shit to play the exotic mission/get the weapon. Wasted 35 minutes to find out I can’t get the new exotic because I didn’t play through Act 2” “The gatekeeping of loot is STILL falling on deaf ears. I am tired of being told how to play and when to play,” another player agreed. Bungie has not yet said if they’d lift these restrictions on the exotic mission, but it might be too late, as it seems that the damage has already been done.

Destiny 2 community divided over Titan changes coming in Season of the Deep – Dexerto
Destiny 2 community divided over Titan changes coming in Season of the Deep BungieDestiny 2‘s next season is on the horizon, and as noted in a recent post from Bungie, it’s going to introduce fine-tuning for all the Light subclasses. However, it’s left fans concerned that Titans are getting hit the hardest. Bungie released a blog post yesterday about upcoming changes to each class, revealing their balancing plans for Season of the Deep. The team is looking to either buff or nerf certain Light subclasses depending on how powerful they’ve been since Lightfall‘s launch. Amongst all the changes, Titans appear to have been hit hardest. Abilities like Seismic Strike and Shield Bash will now be dependent on melee energy meaning players will be unable to use them as consistently. While some are happy that Titans will be less powerful in PvP, others are concerned that these changes restrict the power fantasy of the class. Destiny 2 fans argue over PvP influencing PvE nerfs The Titan changes that are getting introduced in Season of the Deep are proving to be controversial across the community. Making something like Seismic Strike dependent on melee energy affects the players in a multitude of ways – not just in PvP, but in PvE. Once the changes are live, Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, and Shield Bash will cost 15% melee energy on activation. This means you won’t be able to spam these abilities anymore. In PvP, the mix of damage and mobility that Shield Bash grants is lethal, so the nerf is understandable. However, in PvE, it can be a core part of a Titan’s survivability and power. This has left some frustrated that changes for the sake of PvP are affecting their ways of playing in PvE. This change has sparked a Reddit thread with 3.1k upvotes at the time of writing. One player commented, “once again PvP nerfs something perfectly fine in PvE“. Another remarked, “another thing to throw on the Bungie needs to be able to separate cooldowns between PvE and PvP evidence pile“, showcasing their frustration over the upcoming nerfs. This brings other frustrating considerations for Titan players too. Most Guardians focus on Resilience and Recovery stats for their armor. Now, Titans who have never kept high Strength armor are out of luck if they want these abilities available as much as possible. The full extent of the after-effects is hard to predict right now, but it will definitely leave a lot of Titan players unsatisfied as Season of the Deep rolls around on May 23, 2023.
